The Mercado Municipal de São Paulo is a historical building with stands selling rare fruit, vegetables, and dairy produce, as well as a food court. The market's specialty is mortadella sandwiches; for the definitive version, try the crowded upstairs Hocca Bar. Ki Peixe also serves big flat oysters shucked to order while you wait for your fish to be cleaned.
A very large and beautiful market with lots to see. If you're visiting, there are lots of unique local items to purchase here. I loved seeing all the hand made items that were being made there. There are great restaurants on the second floor as well. The mortadella sandwiches are an absolute must try! They are heavy but extremely delicious.

Loved how beautiful the food looks, the building has great features too. Too bad you get the feeling you have to excuse yourself if you don't want to try the products from every other stand. I can imagine some people like to sample everything, but I don't feel comfortable. The famous sandwich is great, but a bit too much meat, but hey that's the typical Brazilian style!

I really like this place. As a child my parents used to take us there . It’s a colourful place, with a variety of fruits, meats, fishes, wines and more. The famous mortadella sandwich is big and delicious you must try it .

Buzzing market surrounded by more stands outside. Very busy over the weekend. Upstairs you’ll find many restaurants offering Brazilian food.
Most places will offer you fresh fruit to try, dried cod and cervesas.

I went a restaurant and I tried a mozzarella baguette and was delicious but it was very big and I didn’t finish it.
The Museum of Art of Sao Paulos Assis Chateaubriand is a famed art gallery located in the heart of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Spanning several centuries, the museum features an impressive collection of paintings by some of the most renowned artists in history. The building itself is impressively designed and makes for a stunning sight from any point along Paulista Avenue.
Great collection and interesting presentation. I got a tour by Andrea on Airbnb and I felt like I understood much more than I would've. The building also has spectacular architecture. And the museum showcases a diversity of artists and techniques/methods.

Amazing experience! Impressive architectural building . You need more than 1-2 hours to spend there if you want to absorb most of the beautiful art.
It is also functional. There is a very nice cafe & a great restaurant. You can also buy nice good quality souvenirs. I 've bought a sweet elephant toy for my granddaughter.
I felt happy there 😌

What a wonderful museum right in the center of São Paulo!
It has a range of very famous artists and pieces - from Degas, Picasso, Monet, Modigliani…and many contemporary artists.
The temporary exhibitions are also great. Highly recommend it

The building is really starting to show its age, and getting in was a bit confusing. Luckily I found someone that worked there and was able to help me purchase my ticket. Tickets must be purchased before hand, as they do not sell at the door. Web site does not load in English and is a bit of a pain to navigate without help.

We really enjoyed the architecture as well as the artwork. Cute small cafe inside where you can sit and enjoy a coffee or something small to eat.
Not allowed to enter with food or drinks. There is a place where you can leave your belongings upon entrance to the museum.

Large collection of (mostly all) paintings covering many periods on main floor really nice with the glass easels. Some obscure works by Picasso and DaVinci. A few famous works I recognized. The day I went the other exhibits (really just one), was a big bust. So a bit disappointed considering the high ticket cost.

Incredibly ethereal use of space for art exhibitions. Despite only being two floors, MASP organizers know how to organize the floors to make it look more inviting to guests. I loved the exhibition on Indigenous Histories and the variety of representation among the pieces up for viewing. Admission on certain days is free so make sure to review the website before you book.

Fantastic museum with a great collection, including a lot of European art: Renoir (6 works), Gauguin (2x), Cezanne (2x), Van Gogh (3x), Delacroix (4x), Picasso (3x), Manet (3x), Monet (2x), Ingres (3x), Velasquez (1x), Rubens (1x), Rembrandt (1x),…

We entered the museum for free for some reason i dont know, but i loved it. Anyway, the building is very good for being a contemporary art museum. The second floor belongs to classics, but other floors are spared to temporary things.
Love them all. Thank you

I loved this museum! Even though the collection is not very vast, the pieces displayed are of immense value. Perhaps the most innovative element of the exhibit is the open floor plan, with works arranged in chronological order and information sheets on the back. It really makes you feel more deeply connected with the works.

This is a worldwide famous museum not just for its collection but for its architecture and historical relevance , and it’s totally worthy of it all. The architecture captures the eyes because it’s the biggest concret box suspended in the world with an enormous empty space beneath it , with a back space that it’s part of its art and gives you an amazing view of the 9 de julho avenue, just in the heart of São Paulo . The entrance is at Avenida Paulista other main attraction of the city. The ticket box is pretty organized, there was no lines. The museum counts on its fixed collection with artists that goes from classic to contemporary arts, both international and Brazilian artists, like Portinari. Some word wide famous pieces can be found there. But in the other floors they have the temporary exhibition, like the one focuses on the native people not only of Brazil but going far as New Zealand. It’s a fun and quick museum to visit , not tiring and boring at all.

If you’re looking for the new type of history this is the place to start!! They have a non-colonized view of the arts and it’s really interesting to know. Also, most of the pieces in there are very famous, from Degas to Van Gogh. Aside from that, all temporary exhibits are made to sensitize the public. Overall, such an incredible curation of this museum! Really impressive.

Visiting MASP in Sao Paulo was an extraordinary experience! Arriving on a Sunday at 5 pm, just before closing, added a unique touch to the adventure. The museum's layout is ingeniously designed, effectively packing a wealth of captivating art into a compact space. Each exhibit offers a fascinating journey through history, culture, and creativity. It's truly inspiring to see how MASP showcases such diverse and thought-provoking works. Just a tip: Ensure you have enough energy to fully immerse yourself in this enriching experience!

Small museum but packs a punch! I love its unique way of displaying artworks, something I’ve never seen before but highly appreciate! You can appreciate the entire place in about 2 hours maximum or less, if you’re pressed for time. The park across the street, Parque Trianon is a great place to stroll through after the museum.

Beautiful exhibits and one of the most interesting presentations of a gallery I have seen. The art is mounted on glass so you can see the back of the canvas. You also have to walk around the work to read about the artist and the paintings origin which was very interesting and made you do a few loops. Great innovative art space.
Eden Theron — Google review
Nice museum, not very big. There are some really great paintings by Renoir, Raphael, Picasso, Bellini - but weirdly the board with the explanation was always at the back of the painting, that was very uncomfortable. On other floors there are some nice photographs and some other nonsense of what people now call "art".
Ibirapuera Park is a large park in Sao Paulo, Brazil with many of the citys well-known museums and recreational areas. The park was originally commissioned as part of the citys 400th anniversary celebration, but due to budget cuts, some of Niemeyer's original plans were not implemented. Today, the park is still one of the most popular attractions in Sao Paulo, with over 14.4 million visits per year.
Do not leave São Paulo without visiting this park. The park is extremely beautiful and large with so much to see. The natural beauty is very hard to describe and show in photos. There are also several great local food vendors here, with some very nice picnic areas. Definitely a nice break from the cityscape of São Paulo.

Pretty park with lush grounds. We rented the bikes they offer and rode around the place. The bikes for 2 are $4/hr! And the bicycles are $2/hr. Lots of carts selling fresh coconut juice, and other snacks. Plenty spots to have a picnic. Stopped at a restaurant there, with very friendly service. The restrooms very clean too! 👍

It has been called the "green lung" of the city. Ibirapuera has all the facilities you could want to spend a pleasant day with family, friends or by yourself - there's so much to do from sports to museums. And the best thing is you can get about easily by bike, cart, or by foot!

A nice pack in the middle of the city. Think of it as Central Park on New York City, the Brazilian version though 😜. You can rent bikes to go around the park, enjoy the view of the water and also visit the Afro Museum and some other near by attractions. The entry to the park is free. It has a number of eateries and hawkers within the park for drinks and food. It can get hot so be prepared.

The lush greenery, serene lakes, and well-maintained pathways created the perfect backdrop for a captivating adventure. Riding through Parque Ibirapuera provided us with a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature, unwind, and appreciate the urban oasis that this park truly is.

One of the best places to visit in São Paulo. Favourite park in the city for many. The lake with all the fishes is indeed mesmerizing except for some waste that is thrown there. Ample space for one to breathe, spend time. With Museums and the Auditorium, it just adds feathers to the crown. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there.

Great place to enjoy nature, have a nice long walk/run, read a book next to the lake, take your kids to have fun, see the art expositions and even visit the planetarium inside.
There are some restaurants with decent food and you can buy snacks all around the park.
If you’re a foreigner, it’s super safe (even at night)!
The Municipal Theatre of Sao Paulo is a beautiful and historic theater that presents opera, concerts, and ballet. It was designed by Italian Claudio Rossi and inspired by the Opera de Paris of Charles Garnier. The theater is heavily ornamented on its facade with baroque and art nouveau elements, while its interior is draped in gold and marble.
Beautiful place. A MUST visit to whoever comes to Sao Paulo.
However, the location is pretty dangerous so be aware of your belongings.
If you want to go to see a show there, search on internet to see what's avaliable and get tickets so when you go there's plenty of people.

The Municipal Theatre of São Paulo is in itself a work of art. It is absolutely gorgeous. I have the feeling the general population doesn't care for it or simply doesn't have the cultural level to appreciate both the venue and the shows presented in it, and that is disheartening thought. If that is not the case for you, do not think twice: check schedules and pay it a visit. They even offer guided tours. ❤️

Woooow! What a cool space! I would DEFINITELY recommend a free tour around the Theatre. We have learned more about the city in 55 minutes than from our entire Michelin guide. I would fully recommend that! The guide was a great English speaker so we could ask loads of additional questions! It is really cool! There is this rule, that you cannot take videos inside of the theatre (not sure why) but have a look at my pics (these are allowed!).

Gorgeous building with a very interesting history!! However we turned up for the free English tour which is meant to be on Friday's at 11am but they decided they weren't doing one that day... and we had a group of 9 who had planned to go especially. They said next time we should have called in advance, so that would be my tip! Also when they have rehearsals on it's not possible to view the auditorium. Lunch at the restaurant downstairs was delicious, a very generous banquet of traditional Brazilian food with a surprise opera performance in the entrance of the theatro - quite the treat :)
Night Kiwi — Google review
I wish I could say we got to experience what others have rated as a great place to visit but sadly we did not! Our party of 4 stopped by today to inquire on tour options and we were greeted by some down right rude and miserable women! They were more concerned about returning to their gossip session than helping us. We had stopped by hoping there was someone onsite with whom we could make reservations for the next day. The primary woman continued to repeat their tour hours to which I had to ask three times if there was someone onsite that we could make reservations with instead only to be treated rudely and informed the only way to make reservations was online. Seeing as I would expect a lot of your visitors to be foreign individuals I would have hoped the theatre would have been more accommodating. What a disappointment!!!!
The Altino Arantes building is a skyscraper in Sao Paulo, Brazil that is famous for its distinctive Art Deco facade. It is one of the tallest buildings in the city, and offers stunning views of the cityscape from its 35-storey height. The building is home to Santander Bank, but free visits to the observation deck are still offered for some amazing 360-degree views of Sao Paulo.
A build that was de HQ from Banespabank and actually is one of many properties of Santander bank

The views are limited by a glass, can be crowded but you still can get your view. Not 360 degrees view since it is only one side of the building and another across the coffee room. There are other attractions in the building that worth seeing. The coffee is okay, you don’t get view from the coffee but you pay an expensive price to have it.i wouldn’t go back… nothing special

The view of this iconic building in Sao Paulo's skyline is amazing. You can go up to the 23rd floor and admire the city's main buildings from the top, but the observatory area is a little tight and can get a little crowded. You can also lear a little bit about the history of the building, translated only in English. Admissions starts at R$10 up to R$20.

I visited Avenida Paulista on Feb 2021, right on the day the State of Sao Paulo announced another lockdown. I thought there will be no people out on the streets but I was so wrong. People can still roam around freely. I'm so glad I decided to travel to Brazil beginning of Feb 2021. I had fun seeing the city and the people. With the help of the subway (plus the subway fare is so cheap), visiting point A to point B isn't that complicated. I had fun! I take all photos myself, even my selfie! Check out my IG- @jl.dormido

The museum is very nice! Ut has lots of attractions and my 7 year old daughter lived it. We arrived there in the middle of the afternoon and had only 2 hours inside. It was not enough, we are going to go back another time so we can spend more time inside.
The only problem was that it was full of visitors and some (of course not the museums fault) of the visitors were rude, didn’t respect the lines, or also the attractions, and because of bad use they were broken.
We knowthat this is not the museums fault.
Hoping to go back soon and hopefully it won’t be too crowded!

They should warn u in advance and not sell u a ticket....but they still took my money. Not cool guys not cool.
The Monastery of Sao Bento is a historical and elaborate church that dates back to 1598. Although its neo-Gothic facade was added in the early 20th century, the interior features impressive stained glass windows and boasts a longstanding tradition of Gregorian chant during mass. In addition to its religious significance, the monastery contains an on-site bakery where visitors can purchase various baked goods such as cookies and bread cake.
A must see. It rivals the most grand you would see in Europe. Just stunning.
I came to the Sunday mass for the chanting but it was less chanting and more traditional mass singing. Maybe they have the chants at a different time. We came early to sit in front and people were standing all around the sides by the start of service.
We also picked up some cookies and a bread cake from the bakery.
High recommend.

- Arrive there on Saturday 10 am
- Take pictures of graffiti (30~60min)
- coffee time near the alley (1 hour)
After 12pm, the vibe gets started to
be more energetic.
- Look around some street shops.

It's a nice place to go if you enjoy street art. On the Saturday we visited there was a street fair with all kinds of handcrafted goods. There are bars, art galleries and tattoo studios. It's worth a visit for sure!

Loved walking through these streets to see the street art. Every corner and every turn housed meters of unusual, colourful, beautiful and bizarre street art from a culmination of artists. Highly recommend you go early before it gets too busy.

Bustling nightlife, bars and people hanging out for drinks, a good area to mingle, impressive street art.
Recommended during weekends in the evenings for the full experience.

What a cool place to see local graffiti. We took an Airbnb tour so we could know what alleyways to go down but overall I think you could explore without one. Highly recommend.
The Martinelli Building is a landmark in Sao Paulo, Brazil and the city's first skyscraper. Constructed of brick and concrete, it was the highest building in Latin America when it opened in 1929. Today, it is one of the city's most beautiful buildings and is home to a number of businesses including a hotel. Despite its beauty and historical significance, however, the Martinelli Building also has a long history of homelessness around it.
Very very interesting a building in Sao Paulo

Beautiful building, hundreds of homeless people around it
Łukasz Maciuga — Google review
The building is beautiful and the views are pretty great. But the organization of this is dreadful. I came today (Sunday), saw that the timings were for 13 and 1430- on the site and on a poster on the door. I came just before 1300, with about 12 people ahead of me. A couple people joined friends near the front some time after I did, but we were not taken as a group until 1400. Then each of us had to show ID and the guide asked us questions and wrote our info- by hand, it took almost 15 minutes.
Then we had to wait in another line for 15 minutes for no reason, and only then were we taken to the top. A guide spoke to us for a few minutes and then we were led out to the terrace. There were metal barriers in front of the rails so it was harder to get a really good view. Which I found pointless as there were only 15 of us and a guide and 3 guards. Not only that but only maybe half of the terrace was open for viewing. We were only allowed about 5 minutes on each side of the terrace.
I've been to many lookouts in several parts of the globe and I've never had such a frustrating experience. I would prefer to pay an entrance fee and have more tours, waiting for an hour for a limited experience was almost not worth it.

It used to be better, without the railings and with less hassle, but it’s still one of São Paulo’s best views, and even better that the view from the neighboring Farol Santander. Also, it’s free! I recommend that you reserve your tickets beforehand online.
Alexandre Aimbiré — Google review
The view is great. However, one needs to wait on the sidewalk for a long time to be able to access because only groups of 15 people can enter. Registration takes half an hour so generally it takes a lot of time to get inside.

I loved the stunning view and the building itself is quite beautiful
Edificio Copan is a landmark high-rise apartment building designed by Oscar Niemeyer that is noted for its modernist, rippling profile. The building is located in central Sao Paulo and can be visited anytime on the ground floor of its shopping arcade.
Elegant and imposing, the Edifício Itália offers stunning views of Sao Paulo from its 168m / 551ft high rooftop observation deck. The 44th floor is home to Terraco Italia, one of Sao Paulo's most exclusive restaurants.
The Pateo do Collegio museum is a replica of the original Jesuit mission in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The mission was erected in 1554 and has since been preserved as a historical monument. The museum contains exhibits about the history of the Jesuit order, as well as religious artifacts from the original chapel.
Currently a functional school and Cafe, Patio do Collegio is a colonial styled Jesuit church on the site where Sao Paulo was founded in 1554. Culturally relevant and ever popular for that reason the grounds are extremely well-maintained, though literature offered only in Portuguese makes the story difficult to understand for those who are not fluent.
The Pinacoteca de São Paulo is an art museum located in the city of São Paulo, Brazil. It is one of the most important museums in Brazil, and its collection skews heavily towards the Brazilian Modernists. The museum has an 11,000-works-strong collection, and its building was designed by Pritzker Architecture prize-winner Paulo Mendes da Rocha.
I loved this museum. I have been to many museusm around the world, but I found the experience here to be extremely unique. Each room you enter had a placard that not only explained the exhibit, but asked thought provoking questions, that made you really view the exhibit with an open mind. This was definitely a very unique experience. And the building itself was also a work of art to be enjoyed. Make sure you give yourself at least 3 hours here to really walk through all the museum has to offer.

One of the most beautiful museums I've been to. They have a great selection of pieces, with differing mediums, the space is clean and comfortable. The main entry goes thru a sunroom with super high glass ceilings, currently showing pieces done with wood, so you can smell the sap being warned by the sun.
The staff was friendly and kind, very helpful and attentive. Bathrooms were clean.
The pieces being showcased are very well selected, I think. And the infrastructure is beautiful.
Georgi Bianchi — Google review
This is truly one of the best museums in the world. Pinacoteca is one of those places that you would need days to truly understand and decompress.
With a great collection of Brazilian Modernist Era, the museum’s architecture details its a must all by itself.
Besides it’s great collection the museum also have temporary exhibitions with great artists, so it be good to check it before attending.
The tickets to temporary exhibitions and weekends tends to sold out very quickly, and there is one day of the week when you can get in for free.
If you’re going by public transportation be careful to the surroundings, the neighborhood it’s not dangerous but don’t be distracted with your belongings.
Also take some time to walk in the garden with lots of sculptures by different artists is a very enjoyable experience by itself.
If you wanna take some pictures I suggest the afternoon lighting that entes that glass ceiling, it’s just idyllic.

Very well organised museum. Great place to get familiar with Brazilian modern art. Allocate at least three hours to properly review the collection. Highly recommended.
Aleksei Kaliukin — Google review
This museum is one of the oldest in São Paulo. The art collection is huge, each room is overflowing with different pieces. In a way it is actually quite overwhelming and intense, it’s difficult to digest the sheer amount. There is no flowing journey or consistency. There is deep contrast not just room to room, but often throughout a room. You would need to spend an entire day here to truly begin to appreciate and digest what’s on display. It’s quite remarkable at the same time. I recommend a visit.

The Pinacoteca do Estado de Sao Paulo is one of the most prominent art museums in Sao Paulo, located next to Estação da Luz, which is connected to the Metro Yellow Line. Entry is totally free on Saturdays (and on Thursday nights, 6pm to 10 pm)
The Pinacoteca's was designed by Ramos de Azevedo, building is a beautiful example of Brazilian architecture from the early 20th century. In 1998, it went through a masterful renovation process, designed by the Pritzer Prize laureate, architect Paulo Mendes da Rocha. The museum's interior gallery spaces are well thought out and provides an excellent backdrop for the art on display. The galleries are spacious. The natural light of the atriums, connected by steel bridges is the perfect symbiosis between the classic building and contemporary architecture.
The museum's café in the underground floor connects with Praça da Luz, providing an exuberant view of the park and a relaxing atmosphere, a pleasant and calm space that could make you forget you're in the fourth most populated city on earth (and one of the most dangerous areas of Sao Paulo).
The museum's collection is vast, covering a range of styles and periods, with an emphasis on Brazilian art from the 19th century to the present day. The Pinacoteca is especially known for its collection of modernist art, featuring works by well-known Brazilian artists such as Tarsila do Amaral, Anita Malfatti, and Lasar Segall. Additionally, the museum has an extensive collection of photographs, engravings, and drawings, providing visitors with a comprehensive view of Brazilian art history.
Overall, the Pinacoteca do Estado de Sao Paulo is a world-class, must-visit for anyone interested in Brazilian art and culture. The museum's impressive collection, beautiful architecture, and commitment to education make it one of the most important cultural institutions one could ask for.

Must see museum in São Paulo. Beautiful building with nice sights to Estação da Luz.
Exhibitions are very well organized and inviting.
The only downside is that the museum surroundings tend to be not so safe when police is not around. But if you are an average Brazilian you will be able to handle it just fine.

Even since before I planned my trip to Brazil I knew I wanted to visit the Pinacoteca at one point in my life. The building is reminiscent of a classical temple, and has a massive collection of works in all plastic arts. I loved the educational focus of the exhibits, the fact that they are arranged by topic and not by region or century, and all the accessibility infrastructure all around. Truly one of the best museums I have been to in Brazil.
Liberdade is a Japanese-themed neighborhood in the city, marked by a red torii arch at its entrance and adorned with lanterns on its streets. It offers a variety of dining options such as sushi bars, ramen shops, yakisoba noodles stands, Chinese and Korean eateries. Visitors can also explore gift shops and supermarkets selling kimonos, cookware and Asian delicacies.
Neo Química Arena is located in the working-class Zona Leste and serves as the home stadium for Corinthians. The area also hosts other prominent football clubs like Palmeiras and Sao Paulo, with Santos FC having a significant fan base in the city. Visitors have shared their experiences of encountering friendly and helpful staff at the stadium, making it a memorable visit. The atmosphere during games is described as electric, especially when witnessing passionate fans like Gavioes da Fiel in action.
We being two Americans, were unable to buy tickets to last nights game after many many attempts (No CPF). We took the long journey to the stadium in hopes of buying high end tickets there from the stadium. We made it through 3 sets of boundaries before we were blessed to meet Elena at the entrance to the Fielzone area. She spoke solid English and was VERY VERY personable and helpful. We were able to purchase our tickets and had a great experience. Elena even went to find us later that night and check on us. Such a great experience by all that we met at the stadium. Great work!

That day my eyes shone with emotion, being able to see the Gaviões da Fiel fans in person was the most beautiful thing! when Corinthians scored an entire arena goal he celebrated, it was an unforgettable day .. The most incredible thing of all is Gaviões singing all the time, no matter if we lose or win being Corinthians is in the blood and regardless of everything I will be Corinthians until the end.
That place is magnificent, I have no words to describe it, Arena Corinthians is a true paradise. Being Corinthians really is an incredible feeling ... I love you Corinthians ♡

An excellent modern venue to take in a game. I felt like I was at an EPL stadium, with a more electric atmosphere. This was probably because it was Brazil v. Peru but have heard Corinthians games get pretty wild too. Definitely catch a game here if you like soccer or really cool new stadiums.

Great experience. We went and saw Corinthians x Avai in November 2017. Parked near the mall and metro station. Parking was R$60, which was a little expensive in my opinion, but the parking lot was secure, so I guess it was worth it. It was still a decent walk to the stadium. Stadium was beautiful. Sat in the upper level, and the view was great, but expect to stand for the whole game. Fans sang and cheered for all 90 minutes. It can be difficult to get tickets if you're not/don't know a Brazilian. Overall a great experience
Sala Sao Paulo is a concert hall in the Luz district of São Paulo, Brazil. Completed in 2000 with the help of a partnership between the Viva o Centro non-profit organisation and a group of international architects, it features mezzanines and elevated walkways to reduce noise from nearby railway lines. The neoclassical building is home to the Sao Paulo State Symphonic Orchestra.
Sala São Paulo is an A-grade, first class concert venue.
Room acoustics is excellent. Sitting is sufficiently comfortable and stage view is uniformly good.
It is located in downtown São Paulo, but is easily accessible via subway, train (stations are right next doors and directly connected to Sala São Paulo) or car (on-site parking facility available).
OSESP, the orchestra, is simply excellent. And their rendition of Carmina Burana is noteworthy.

Nice room, with a superb acoustics, the best place to get in touch with classic music in Sao Paulo. Easy to park (in the back of venue) an I recommend to get here by Uber or taxi. Nice cafe inside, small so get crowded during intervals.
Ricardo Urresti — Google review
Can much can I rave about this place? The building itself is beautiful, but the main concert hall is something else. The acoustic is perfectly adjusted by panels on the ceiling that can be mechanically moved before the concert. It doesn't happen every time, but I saw it once before an open rehearsal and it was very cool. You can also get seats behind the orchestra, which gives you the same view of the maestro as the musicians, again a very different experience. On the Main building you can have dinner or coffee and there is a nice gift shop.
The only problem is that it is in a dangerous area of São Paulo, so if you are not used to the city, take a taxi and be safe.
P.S. the screen at the picture obviously didn't stay down during the concert.

The café shop deserves a visit, the banana cake was delicious.
Unfortunately I didn't have time enough to explore the gift shop.

I love this hotel! Every single person who works here has bent over backwards to make our five day stay amazing. I had booked a nice room but they upgraded us to an amazing suite! We asked for a late checkout and they let us stay allllllll day until the time of our evening flight! Seriously, I've never had such great customer service. Also, the whole property is awesome - cool architecture, fantastic top floor restaurant/bar and pool area, huge cool lobby, friendly front desk team, etc. etc. The neighborhood is peaceful and pretty, and quite conveniently located to everything we wanted to do. Twenty years ago, the Unique was the place to go. Modern and avant-garde, it showed the country’s full potential. Today, it is in urgent need of a facelift. Only the prices, which are exorbitant, remain up to date. Hotel Unique offers a hyper-modern retreat in suburban São Paulo. Its common areas effortlessly embody contemporary style with sleek, futuristic furniture and decor.
The attentive staff goes above and beyond, providing top-notch and personalized service. During check-in, a glass of Moët Chandon sets the tone for a luxurious stay, and the dark elevator and hallways create a uniquely cool atmosphere.
While the rooms embrace modernity, they lean towards the smaller side. Guests can enjoy either a stunning skyline view of São Paulo or a glimpse of a neighboring building's balcony. Standard amenities are provided, but be aware that there's no iron in the room; however, the front desk promptly fulfills requests, offering a steamer. It's worth noting that some wear and tear, especially on the floors, is evident in the rooms.

So I hang out at the rooftop cafe for a few hours while waiting for my check-in time. The view was great. It gives you the view of the south end of Avenida Paulista and you’d realize what a massive concrete jungle São Paulo really is. And it’s great for taking pictures.
The cafe did not much variety on its menu but the prices are surprisingly reasonable. And unlike most of the rooftop/viewpoint restaurants and cafes in São Paulo that charges a fee just to get in and have expensive menu, this one was free to get in.

Man, I love this place. Must visit for everyone in São Paulo. This is a place maintained by companies in Brasil to help their employees chill and enjoy activities and learn new things at a reasonable or free of cost. To enjoy most activities you need to be a member but I think to visit the place you don't need one. Also, must go to the 17 floor, you will know why. Avoid weekends, it can get too crowded.
Lionel Rinaldo Crasta — Google review
System there has changed. No longer we can enter 17th floor without reservation ;( for 16th floor, you don't need to reserve a table. Just go to 16th floor and order foods and drinks and take a seat. You can still see nice view from the 16th floor but not as nice as before when it didn't require us to make a reservation in advance but could go up to 17th.
However, foods and drinks are very nice there. And price is super fair. Much cheaper than any other cafeterias in Paulista.

Cool archetecture. If you are just passing by visit the exhibits that are available, check if there is a show or preformence and make sure you go to the top to check out the view, it's the one thing you can't miss, you get an awesome view of one of São Paulo's most famous avenues. (You need a sticker from the front desk on weekends and holidays to go up there, but can go directly during weekdays).
If you are a local this place is great for families, students, groups and even to go alone. They offer a variety of classes, art exhibits, shows, performances. They have a children's area, library, technology floor and a cafe and store. It's a great place to study or hang out, you feel very welcomed too.

If you are a foreigner and try to buy a ticket at the ticket office you will waste your time.
3 of us (NZer, Canadian and Chilean) tried to buy tickets (no CPF, no Brazilian bank card) and after mucking around for over 45 minutes, being sent to another ticket office, installing apps, verifying emails, doing facial recognition and handing over money, IDs and phones we were told it was impossible and they refused us entry. At no point did we argue or complain. We even had a local help us out who was waiting in the queue and watched us suffer but to no avail. The club should do something to make it easier for tourists to attend games. Seems crazy to make the game inaccessible to visitors to this beautiful country.

Renault Theater is an excellent facility for presenting broadway like spectacles, maybe the best in Latin America. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. When you go there choose taxi, Uber or other shared vehicle as the parking lots around are expensive and you’ll find no places to park in street area near the theater. Also is a great idea to walk accompanied when you leave if it is late night.

The Luz Station is a grand late-Victorian train station located in Sao Paulo, across from the Parque da Luz. Built in 1901 with materials imported from Britain, it provides direct access to the metro and acts as a hub for Sao Paulos suburban lines. The station has been restored to its former glory, while the neighborhood requires some renovation. Inside the station stands the Portuguese Language Museum since 2006.
If you forget about the Português background noise, you might even think you’re in the middle of Paddington station in the heart of London! Well preserved historical building. This beautiful train station was built in the late 19th century and most materials for its construction were brought from the UK. Designed by British architect Henry Driver. I would recommend coming here during the day to take advantage of the natural light, which brings out the beauty of the station. Security level is good, few security personnel stationed in front of the entrance and some policemen will be on patrol around the area. Still, please be mindful and always be vigilant. Also, this station houses the Museum of the Portuguese Language.

It’s a must-visit place in São Paulo. You’d rather go during day light to get nice pics. It’s a huge station. So if you want to see the classic station stop, it’s easier to get indoors through the streets. Otherwise, you’re gonna walk a while to go upstairs from the other entrances in the underground station.

The Farol Santander is a 35-story skyscraper in São Paulo, Brazil, reminiscent of the Empire State Building. It was completed in 1939 and originally served as the headquarters for Banco do Estado de Sao Paulo. Today, it houses cultural exhibits and an observation deck on its 35th floor, offering panoramic views of the city. The Art Deco design is well preserved and visitors can see original furniture from when the bank was open.
It was the highest building in Sao Paulo for decades, view from the top is pretty amazing, if you like those kind of views, there is a nice coffee restaurant on top too...lower floors are museum of former bank I think, honesty I'm not into banks too much and didn't find that too interesting, but again, that's my opinion...there are probably many persons who liked it...and also there is like movie room where you can watch brief history of the building and Sao Paulo, now that was amazing...anyway, worth visiting for a good view over the city 😉😊
Marko Ilich — Google review
We really enjoyed ourselves. I was a little disappointed that the top floor was not the most viewable of the city, but it was kind of cool that it was a cooking school. Each floor was just so incredibly unique and interesting and kept us entertained and we went to go back. If he was very reasonable to go in and the entire staff was extremely personal friendly and helpful.

The view from the top is simply breathtaking! You can admire the sheer size of São Paulo while you drink a coffee and enjoy some pastries. When going down the tower you'll find several floors with different temporary exhibits. This is an essential landmark when visiting the city center.

Wow, this lighthouse that served as the HQ of the Saō Paulo bank now is an incredible place to visit. With multiple floors that host a bar and restaurant at the top, observation deck, a skate park, art and museum exhibitions, and a historical museum showcasing the former offices housed in the building. One of the coolest places is the bar underground in the former vault.
One can easily buy tickets in the gorgeous lobby and take the elevator the top.

I guess this is the kind of tour you must take once in your lifetime. The skyscraper is beautiful (have seen better), the view is wide (have seen better), the old offices are stately (have seen much better), the café on top entertains (nothing special in the menu) and finally the exhibitions leave to be desired, since there was only ONE, and very sloppily curated. Great workout walking down multiple flights of stairs!!! But try to tell Paulistano's that this is not the best thing in the world...

Oh we had a blast! Great exhibitions especially the temporary one where you get to draw a flower which can be scanned and projected on an interactive wall. It was great to have the opportunity to be a child again for a moment and colour one of these pre-drawn flowers. The building itself is amazing to see as well. I do not understand why people post negative comments about the view, I found the view great not to mentioned the cafe with one of the best brownies I have ever tried. You can also come with luggage as they have got a storage room to keep it in. The area can be a bit dodgy in the evening so go directly there. 100% recommended.
TxicoTxeco — Google review
Neat place, all the available floors had something interesting to offer and the building in general was beautiful. It merged its historical side well with modern features and exhibits (the time I went, light-art and skate exhibits). View on top was so-so, you don't have 360 degree access.
Andres Fairbanks — Google review
This skyscraper was an old museum with an Art Deco design inspired by the Empire State. It has a 360° view of the city on the 35th floor that is truly breathtaking. There are several kind of exhibitions like Virtual Reality, a exposition about Space and you can still see some rooms with the original furniture trying to recreate how it was when the bank was open.
Maria Jose AR — Google review
For 15 reales or $3usd you can't ask for more. Exercise walking the steps filled with a mix of art, history, architecture, and gun optical illusionary mirrors dor your photo taking enjoyment. The 28th floor view is okay, glass everywhere so nothing special on that end. But walk the floors down and it turns into a fun 1 to 2 hour experience. Sampa sky is sold out so this is a good stand alone alternative option.

BUT the most incredible is THE COFRE, a bar underground, located where was the bank’s safe, lovely and curios experience; the drinks are nice and staff kind and friendly!

Also there is a very good restaurant at one of the top floors. I think it was the 28th floor. Also there is a bar in the underground, where there was the old vault of the bank. The bar is beautifully inserted inside the vault.

Farol Santander in the historic center of São Paulo is an exceptional landmark that combines rich history with stunning contemporary experiences. Originally the Altino Arantes Building, this architectural gem has been beautifully preserved and repurposed into a vibrant cultural hub. Visitors can explore museum exhibits that cleverly meld art with interactive technology, enjoy panoramic views of the city from the observation deck, and even engage in unique activities like a skate park. The building's Art Deco design and central location make it a must-visit for both history enthusiasts and modern adventure seekers, providing a memorable glimpse into São Paulo's dynamic blend of past and present.

We had a large group and had a lot of fun, we went to every level open starting at view. But solo would be just a nice (and probably not take as long 😄). We had baby and stroller, no issues.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
There were boards with English translations, but obviously a lot in Portuguese but reading not really needed.
I do have to add that tourists should be cautious in this area. I suggest take a car or Uber there. For cars there are many carparks where your car will be looked after by staff on duty.
If you can't Uber walking from subway is fine, I just don't suggest alone.
This ethnographic museum is dedicated to the African diaspora in Brazil and features a permanent collection of 6,000 artifacts. The museum focuses on the history of slavery, Afro-Brazilian religions, memory, art, and more. There are also rotating exhibitions on the bottom two floors of the museum chronicling five centuries of African immigration to Brazil.
You learn a lot about AfroBrasilian people through impressive photos, writings, videos ... It's a good place to start when you come to SP.. And then you may choose to walk in Avenue Paulista to understand better and feel the city-spirit.

The museum was surprisingly elaborate and had a wide range of exhibits for its relative newness. I had been to the British Museum and I was able to see pieces I have seen there in the Afro Brasil Museum which says a lot about its ability to decrease the access challenges that people of the third world have in seeing such exhibits. I really appreciated the attention to details and thought that went into the various representation the afro-brasilian presence. As a person from the English-speaking Caribbean it was really refreshing seeing the similarities despite our temporal and linguistic differences. The section on Bahia and their independence effoets reminded me a lot of the Haitian experience. The security personnel told us that you are able to enter the Museum free on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Not sure if this is for all visitors but it is worth checking this out in advance. Hats off to Mr. Araujo for his role in establishing the museum.

The Sao Paulo Cathedral is a large, neo-gothic building located in the heart of the city. It features a Renaissance-style dome and was completed in 1967. The cathedral is distinctive for its green roof and its two towering towers.
Call god.
This cathedral is so beautiful. Weather your religious or not this is an amazing work of art. The tapestry’s, mosaics, stained glass, columns and the pulpit are just amazing. It cost nothing to enter and take pictures just be respectful of the people there that might be going through some things.

Feels like the heart of downtown Sao Paulo. A combination of tourists and locals generating an authentic experience. Feel the hustle and bustling grit of the locals working right outside on the steps and take in all the sights and experiences. Beautiful mosaic glass and respected aura within the walls.

Beautiful and unique cathedral, one of the tallest I have seen, an incredible creation in the heart of Sao Paulo.
We visited around 6pm, and as can be seen from other reviews, there are a lot of homeless people in the square around the cathedral which may intimidate some tourists, we didn't experience any issues and we noted that there were many fellow tourists visiting and taking pictures outside. There was a strong police presence to help to keep people safe.

Incredible place to be at! Amazing architecture! Only draw back was outside... tons of homeless everywhere. On the steps, in the park, tents scattered everywhere you look. It's a shame the city couldn't keep up the outside area better, but once you are in, it's pretty amazing!

The Cathedral da Sé in São Paulo is an absolute must-see. Its impressive architecture and cultural significance make it a standout attraction. Plus, the best part is, there’s no admission fee – making it an accessible and enriching experience for anyone exploring the city. But be mindful of your belongings, especially in the slightly run-down neighborhood.

Great cathedral in the heart of Sao Paulo. Enjoy the outside area with the flying buttresses and gothic front. Visit the San Paulo statue in front and enjoy the shade of trees. Walking up the wide stairs to the entrance. Beautiful stained glass inside with large chandeliers, hard wood pews and a high ceiling.

Gorgeous architecture, and the service was loud enough that I didn't feel we were encroaching. The structure, murals, statues, and paintings were stunning and well worth the trip.

I came here specifically to see the crypt.
It was cool, and I had an amazing guide show us around.
It was a small group which was nice and it meant there was room for everyone and plenty of time to ask questions.
I was encouraged to take photos by our guide. She was so friendly and made my visit more enjoyable.
There were many homeless people sitting outside on the steps, and there was a police van parked to the side of the entrance.
The cathedral is beautiful and the staff are friendly and helpful.

It's a nice big cathedral, particularly for Brazilian standards. The stained glass windows are pretty and the bizantine murals inside are a bit unusual for such a new church. It's worth a quick stroll by if you are in the area.
Alex Zepka — Google review
Had an amazing experience touring the Cathedral. Took the Tour - Completo (both the church and the cript) for R$60. Tickets can be purchased directly at the store / loja and administative office inside.
Lucia was genuinely helpful and eager to help explaining the history behind the church.
Location is pretty walkable, and just like many other massive metro areas in the world, will need to procreed with slightly higher caution. The police and militaty presence does help adding a little safety net.
Overall, if given the opportunity, do visit the church.

I was very blessed to be able to explore this beautiful church.
It has a lot of beautiful art and architecture. This is a must see. Its also close to other attractions.
There are some poor in the area, but the police was visible everywhere. Stay around or close to the locals and you will be fine.

The Butantan Research Institute is a world-renowned research institute for poisonous animals, and it's home to some of the world's most impressive living snakes, vipers and spiders. It's also a fascinating place with a rich history and mythic significance for worldwide research into poison-related diseases.
Great place to see reptiles and amphibians. There are lots of snakes, some outdoors in exhibits, and a beautiful place to walk around.

Admission fee is only 6 BRL per adult.

There are a lot of exhibitions including virus, vaccine, snakes and others. You can enjoy it for hours.

If you like science/plants/animals, plan to spend a whole day here! I only had time for the vaccine museum and the botanical garden/serpentarium, and had a great time. Most (not all) of displays had some English translation. Truly an under-appreciated gem, especially since an entry ticket to all the museums is only R$6

I liked it a lot. But they were closing to reparations, so there were an air of "closing time" and a lot of unavailable attractions.
The museums are simple but appealing to children. The space is beautiful, large and well maintained.
The serpents and the monkeys weren't there, as their spaces were already cleaned to the reform. So no opinion here...
Plan a couple of hours here, leave it flexible and stay longer if you please. But it definetly worth a try.
Rodrigo Garcia Marques — Google review
Lots of snakes! A few lizards, a couple frogs, many tarantulas. I was hoping I’d get to see what they actually do in the biological institute based on the reviews for it, but it was just a little one room “museum.” Snakes were cool but as an adult with no children, beware that the screaming within the snake exhibit was so ear piercingly loud and constant that I considered putting in headphones to stifle the sound. Maybe on a regular weekday it’s not as bad!
Witch-King of Angmar — Google review
Visited in 2008, as a high school student it was an awesome experience! It's an experimental school with one of the world's largest snake collections. Definitely worth a visit for all the biologists or future biologists out there.
The Latin America Memorial is an outdoor complex created by Oscar Niemeyer that showcases a variety of sculptures and hosts an art gallery. The spacious plaza offers a peaceful location to admire beautiful works of art. The friendly staff welcomes visitors to explore the free exhibits, which include stunning paintings and sculptures located on both sides of the street. Additionally, the center hosts festivals and concerts with food trucks and music performances. Recently, they held an 80-year anniversary Batman expo that was fantastic.
Amazing spot to take in some beautiful pieces of art and relax in the large plaza/courtyard. From the gallery to the public library, everyone is super welcoming and the free exhibits were fantastic. Some beautiful paintings and sculptures scattered around across both sides of the street. I was also there while they were holding a festival/concert and it was amazing with 40-50 different food trucks and a stage setup.

There's lots to see about Latin American culture, especially sculptures. I went to a concert and everything was really well organized and I quite enjoyed how it was done, lots of people attending with no inconvenience and enjoying themselves. There was food trucks and tents as well as a restaurant if you wanted to eat. And also booths to buy drinks. I'd definitely come back.

We perhaps went on at the wrong time to go. During the pandemic. That said the parts that were open were boring and the staff were little help as they spoke little English (Spanish Italian or Japanese, Thai or any other language we speak) and they were less than helpful when we got out Google translate. It's interesting culturally but if you're not super interested in how the culture of Latin America formed then you could give this one a miss.
The Planetário do Ibirapuera - "Aristóteles Orsini" is a state-of-the-art projector system that displays the stars in vibrant colors. The planetarium has a large seating capacity of 300 people and offers high-quality shows about the universe. The facility is well-maintained and comfortable for guests, with helpful staff and reasonable ticket prices.
Super nice but short though. I enjoyed the view and explanation. At the beginning I thought it was not going to be a good experience but it surprised me when all went super dark and the show started!
They have some stuff displayed (like a meteor rock and a telescope) but I think they could do it a bit more interactive experience either before or after getting into the planetarium display and of course try to include more topics to make it last longer since the experience lasted no more than 30 min (including the time taken to see the stuff they have displayed outside).
A lot of potential that could be exploded there!

I used to come here when I was a teen, I was fascinated by the stars and the universe at large.
Fast forward to many years later, and I went to see the show at the Hayden Planetarium of the famed American Museum of Natural History in NY, and I found that the Ibirapuera planetarium beats their show hands down, what a surprise.
That's why I'm giving it 5 stars. If you're curious, read my review about the AMNH's Hayden planetarium.

The Solar da Marquesa de Santos is a magnificent museum showcasing the evolution of architecture dating back to the 18th century. This historic manor house displays various architectural styles and serves as a testament to the rich cultural heritage of the region. The museum regularly hosts cultural events, making it an excellent destination for those interested in history and art. The collection is characterized by its beautiful exposition, providing visitors with an immersive experience that transports them through time, offering a glimpse into Brazil's past.
…………This beautiful manor-house now turned into a museum the once residence of the Marquesa of Santos “Domitilia de Castro” show how this building has transformed since its beginnings in the 18th century. Lots of details are to be observed in the architectural works and also there are lots of details explaining the excavation works which took place over many years unearthing many artifacts of the possessions of this important lady in the history of Sao Paulo. There are bits of cups, plates and many more things like keys etc, etc. Some of the original brick-works are preserved and framed out so visitors can have a glimpse of how it was back in the day. Many statues lay on the floor in the foyer so one has an understanding of how well this place must have been decorated in its interior and exterior grounds. An intriguing museum with the entree-fee being free of charge. It’s worth a visit as it’s only a stones through from the founders square…..

The Marco Zero de São Paulo is a hexagonal monument erected in 1934, located in the center of the city and serving as a zero milestone. It stands proudly in front of a magnificent cathedral with exquisite architectural design both inside and out. Despite the presence of some homeless individuals, it does not detract from the grandeur of this historical landmark that is surrounded by numerous shops for visitors to enjoy.
The cathedral is beautiful, inside and out. There are some homeless people but that doesn’t take away anything from the cathedral itself. It’s in the centre and there are a lot of shops around.

The start of the city of Sao Paulo. The cathedral is beautiful and of major importance. Unfortunately the downtown is full of problems of poverty, drugs and homeless people. I think the mayor and the governor of the state have the moral obligation to take care of this bad situation, at least in front of the cathedral, starting some kind of economic project and helping those people somehow.

Great to see where Sao Paulo started existing. Good place to go to Anchieta museum, Solar da Marquesa de Santos and see Sé Cathedral which is unfortunately surrounded by beggars on its stairs. Pity the priests don't let authorities deal with them. It's safe even though it's kind of scary. There is policy all over in uniform or disguised.

The cathedral is really impressive. But although this is a touristic area (there is a gift shop IN the cathedral) the place around is full of homeless and drug addicts. Because of that some corners smell terribly like urine and even worse. It's hard to fell comfortable there.

From where everything begins. Zero Milestone amazing geographic monument in downtown São Paulo. In 1934, the marble milestone was installed in front of the São Paulo Cathedral to symbolize the center of the city. The sculpture is a both a tourist attraction and a central point of reference for street numbers in the city. Visit. At night can be so dangerous.

The College Pateo museum is the site where the original Jesuit mission of Sao Paulo was established in 1554. This historic location also marks the founding of Sao Paulo City. The museum features a replica of the chapel that was built in 1896 and provides visitors with an opportunity to learn about the area's rich cultural heritage. The exhibits showcase important artifacts, documents, and artworks that highlight the history and development of this significant site.
………… Visiting the school-yard as the name says is real-lii a privileged experience, to be standing at the same spot where the founders stood more than 465 years ago when there was probably nothing but jungle here. At that time the Jesuits built a straw structure here. Today there is the beautiful Portuguese Colonial structure that was rebuilt in the ear-lii 1950’s and by the sheer condition of the building it portrays the importance this site and institution still has on the people who frequent and still make use of it. The place and the grounds surrounding it is pristine and in mint condition and the simple yet impressive plague on the wall dedicated to the Apostle Paul by the Jesuits……On the day of our visit here it was a religious public holiday in Sao Paulo in honour of the celebration of “CORPUS CHRISTI” so this venue was closed to the public as they were preparing for a Mass/Service as there was an Altar impressive-lii adorned for the occasion which was scheduled for later in the day, so we were unable to gain access to explore the inside and also see the museum of the city. On the same square just outside there is also the massive stone monument with an obelisk erected in honour of the first Jesuit-priest who administered to the people they came into contact with at that time. If you are in Sao Paulo this venue is a must visit place!......................

Undoubtedly the most charming original Jesuit mission built in 1554 as Sao Paolo de Piratininga in the Planalto/tableland of Piratininga between rivers Tamanduatei & Anhangabau.Despite its turbulent past in the aftermath of Jesuit Order being expelled twice from Brasil: first in 1640 but restored in 1653 and once again expelled in 1759 by Marques de Pombal/ Portuguese Gov. but restored by Pope Clement XIV in 1773. As expected the building was neglected and its subsequent dereliction plus changes it suffered as it was used as Government quarters.
Adjacent to this is Sao Bento with a charming small chapel to the left where the life of Jose de Anchieta is chartered as he and Padre Manuel da Nobrega are honoured as they built and negotiated their arrival with the local Tamoios indians.
Make sure you visit Museum and crypt as the exhibits of maps/ designs, Paulistinhas images, reliquias and do not miss the interesting Kamayura & Waura exhibits of arches, masks, pottery, axes, jewellery and ornaments, etc from the Xingu National Park.
