The Kea Lion, a mysterious sculpture crafted from slate during the 6th century BC, is situated beyond the last houses of Ioulidas with a small valley separating it. Visitors can take a delightful 15-minute stroll to reach the sculpture by following wooden signs labelled "Ap" from the top of the primary street until they leave town. The lion is visible across the valley and surrounded by white-painted rocks.
The lion of Kea is worth the visit and for those that dont want too go through the whole path, you can get near the statue by car and walk for the rest 15 mins

Short, picturesque hike to a very ancient and historic statue on a Kea hillside. The road to get to the little parking lot is quite rough, but the parking lot has some shade under large trees, plus a beautiful water fountain.

Beautiful stone carved statue with a great history.
Short 10 minute hike with great views on the way to the ancient monument. The spot is not crowded and is free to visit (it is even visible from the pathway).
Make sure you have a bottle of water with you on sunny days!

Amazing carved image of the Lion of Kea, just a few minutes walk from Ioulis. Could not believe that something so beautiful and ancient would be so accessible. In the UK, you would be charged £15 just to see it!

It’s truly amazing to think about that this lion is from 600 B.C… that’s around 957.395 days … and it’s still here…

I was a little disappointed when I finally arrived at the statue's location! It was not what I expected, because i didn't see any pictures of it before i go there! The trail was very beautiful though!

Very cute lion. Been lying here for centuries. I wonder what the artist was thinking when he/she was working on it. We had a great visit. Greece is so nice :)

Easy access available with 10min walk from car park. Well maintained path and Lion. Maybe some information about the history and myths could be a nice addition.

An amazing artifact that has stayed the same, at the same location untouched, in the abandoned farming lots, as the millennia have been passing by. Even today there is probably just one sign that has been added in the last 50 years. It made me feel that time work’s differently here.

Panagia Kastriani is a beautiful and historical monastery located on the coastal hills of Kea. The secluded and serene location offers impressive views of the island's picturesque landscape. While the journey to reach the monastery may involve bumpy roads, visitors are rewarded with a well-preserved church, well-kept gardens, and stunning vistas of the coastline. The tranquil atmosphere and scenic beauty make Panagia Kastriani a worthwhile destination for those exploring Kea.
Beautiful place with asphalt road leading up to the entrance! Great view over the coast line. Very well looked after garden and buildings.

Kea Divers is a PADI 5 Star Dive Center that offers a great experience for both beginners and experienced divers. The center is run by Giannis, who is experienced and goes the extra mile to offer a unique diving experience. The staff are professional, flexible, and easy-going, making communication in English easy. They organize boat trips to explore hard-to-access ruins and unspoiled beaches, providing snorkeling equipment in good condition.
We we’re anchored outside of Voukari in our sailboat when the chain got caught on something below and we could not hoist the anchor. Yiannis came within a half hour and freed us easily. He was terrific.

Best team, they are welcoming and so friendly. I'm still a young diver, and they make me feel comfortable, help me with the equipment and the dive.
I'm an SSI diver and I've made 3 dives, one with some ancient shipwreck, and the two others were closed to the rocks and have wonderful sealife, fishes, murene, etc. They were all beautiful !
I've made one private boat tour around the island, it can be expensive, but we did it with my friend anyway, and the island is quite beautiful from the sea side. The rocks and wildlife are definitely stunning ! You can decide to stop and take pictures, do some snorkeling.
If you also need some snorkeling equipment, you can rent and buy them there. Quite good (they have cressi, mares, polaris and some others).
Thank you so much the team, you are so great ! Hope to see you again !

We booked the boat trip with this company. But on the morning weather happened t be very very windy and the waves were very big. We tried to reschedule the trip when we saw the waves on the beach, we had 5 kids and elderly with us, but the owner of keadivers started to yell like a crazy and insult me during the conversation. They took the half of the price for cancellation. But that is not the bad thing. the awful thing is that he told that we are “snobbish ukrainians” and only ukrainians could do like this, trying reschedule the trip. I’m was shocked. Never in 4 years in Greece I met racism…he insulted me in every possible way speaking with me like this is I control the weather. By the international rules of the watersports and sailing he should call me in the morning and speak about weather conditions instead he wanted to have his money not thinking about peoples comfort and safety. Just don’t think a person like him and a company like this should work in a tourism. I was just thinKing about my kids trying to kindly reschedule the trip to the other day and got the discrimination and racists insults instead. I took a video of a boat crashing by the waves and the pier almost impossible to stand on.
Never use this company if you want to be safe. This people just don’t care.

I organized a four hour speed boat trip for 10 friends with Kea Divers and had a great experience. Yiannis and his skippers were extremely flexible, professional and easy-going. Communicating in English was never an issue and we were able to explore hard to access ruins by boat and unspoiled beaches. Snorkeling equipment was provided and in good condition. The price felt fair for the value we received.

An incredible boat tour to the ruins at Karthaia, snorkelling, and secluded beaches. Yiannis and team were wise and accommodating. Well worth your time if you are on Kea.
Sikamia is a stunning and comfortable beach with crystal clear water, making it one of the best beaches on the island. Accessing Sikamia can be tricky, requiring a 4x4 or driving at a slow speed for part of the route, but visitors agree that it's worth the effort. This unorganized beach offers no amenities like chaise longues or food trucks, so bringing your own supplies is necessary.
One of the best beaches of the island! Difficult access due to rocky road, has built in umbrellas on the sandy beach and benches under the trees

Παραλία Οτζιά is a lovely, well-kept beach with calm waters, making it suitable for families with small children. It offers the option to rent a lounger or bring your own towel to lay out. Spathi Beach Suites Kea, Restaurant & Beach Bar is a new boutique hotel located in a stunning sandy cove with clear waters, just an hour away from Athens by ferry. The quality of the rooms and service is exceptional, and breakfast is included for hotel guests. The beach restaurant offers good food but could use more vegan options. Crystal clear waters and very picturesque. Ideal for quite holidays whether you are a solo traveler, a couple or a family.
The rooms are just ok, quite overpriced. The towels were almost destroyed. The TV wasn’t functioning at all times, no Netflix. Average mattress. No decoration at all apart from a “DIY-like” mirror.
The service was excellent, all staff was very kind.
The breakfast was what you would expect for a 3* hotel. Good variety but average quality. The restaurant choices were adequate but the taste again average. Again overpriced.

The quality of the rooms and the service from the staff is second to none. If you stay in the hotel, breakfast is included. The restaurant has decent quality food, however, some vegan options would be appreciated.
