Borough Farm is a popular tourist attraction in Woolacombe, North Devon, that features sheepdog and falconry displays. The farm is open every Wednesday from June to September and offers visitors an opportunity to watch the dogs' amazing skills as well as see the birds in action. Families are advised to come early for a seat as the show can be quite busy.
A great hour and half spent learning (and laughing). Well worth the entrance fee.
The falconry show was informative and fascinating.
The sheepdogs were so adorable and made us chuckle many times.
If in the area again, we will definitely make a return visit (though will bring warmer clothes, as this time, the weather was a bit chilly).

Great sheep dog and falconry show. Family loved it.

Visited to see the weekly sheepdog and falconry display by David and Martin. Both quite informative, but with David's sheepdog displays the most humorous. You'd think after running the show for many years now it might lose some of its originality, but this was our first visit and the jokes ("quarter of a groan") were actually pretty good and David did a great job of keeping adults and children interested. At several points he got children involved in the ring, with sheepdogs herding ducks around the kids, much to their delight.
Easy parking in a neighboring field and hot dogs available on site for those so inclined.
Falconry was interesting to listen to and well worth going over to meet Martin at the end, when he gets all the birds out once again so you can get up close, take pictures and ask questions if you choose.

A wonderful evening. The presentation style was both funny and interesting. The ducks were hilarious and the final sheep herding was absolutely amazing. I can't recommend this highly enough.

Amazing!!!!! Great fun for all ages, falconry and sheepdog show, we all really enjoyed it. Would go every week if we could.
Thank you for showing what your wonderful dogs do every day

Fantastic evening sheepdog and falconry display, great hot dogs and lovely cakes. The family were brilliant and spent loads of time chatting with us and made sure all the children had chance to get a photo with Sweep the sheep dog and have all their questions answered.
A brilliant family run event. Head on down and check it out!!

Experienced the farm show today with my young family. My 3 year old was fixated throughout. Farmer David delivered a brilliant show involving sheep dogs, ducks, pigs and sheep. Very entertaining and finished with hotdogs and homemade cakes. A thoroughly enjoyable morning. Highly recommended.

Woolacombe Beach is a long, sandy beach located in North Devon. It's known for its surfing waves and expansive views, as well as its dog-friendly policies in the summer. The beach is also popular with kitesurfers and surfers due to its consistent waves and breaks.
Fantastic sandy beach which is a surfers paradise. There's an added bonus of beach tent hire as well as beach hut hire. These are ideal if you're wanting to spend the day at the beach and will be in and out of the sea. There are surf lessons available, aswell as surf board and wetsuit hire. Dogs are allowed off the lead on half of the beach, which is actually the nicer area as it tends to be a bit quieter. Fab day out and a gorgeous beach

One of the countries best beaches - but it gets full, if your prepared to walk a ways you can find space and enjoy this two mile beach. The car park is six pounds per day so you can arrive when ever you want. The sand dunes at the back of the beach look spectacular. The Eid off the sea can be cold

Such a big beach and lovely to walk along or sit down to relax. Part of the beach is dog friendly and the other half is not so all are welcome. There is a cafe down there also if you want a bite to eat. The only thing is that the parking everywhere is a bit of a rip off ranging from £5-10 depending on the time of day for whatever duration you choose to stay, even if for an hour or 2. Overall would visit here though if you haven't.

Great day out great venue, been coming with the children for over twenty years. Now children all grown up they still come with use. Great place to walk the dogs. Great venues locally for food plenty to choose from. Plenty of parking as well.

Fantastic beach great for all the family once you get past the first 100m of crowds. We'll worth parking on marine drive and enjoy the cafe.

Beautiful beach! Very clean and tidy and dog friendly too.
We interesting display by the car park telling you all about the history of the area in the last 200 years.

The most amazing beach. We were so lucky to catch such a beautiful sunset on the beach one night too, which I will remember for a life time.
The beach is clean and has facilities near by. Large car park and the beach is so large it never gets too over crowded.
A must visit!

Wonderful clean, sandy beach with dedicated dog areas. The dogs loved it and do did we... So much so we visited twice during our week in the area

One of the best beaches I've ever been too. Extremely clean and very very big. A great walk is from one end to another and end with a good lunch at either end.
Lifeguards great as always and water very clean. No litter visible

Calm and clean sandy beach. Pet friendly. Easy access from parking. And one of the best place to see the sunset, make sure to take beach rug/mat or chairs (and some wine too if you wanna make it more memorable and romantic😍) There is a nice pizza takeaway in the parking too.

It's a great beach for all sorts of outdoor activities. Parking is the issue during busier times, but there is plenty of room on the sand.

Stunning, clean, flat long stretch of sandy beach in beautiful north Devon. Perfect for running or walking the dog as there are compact bits, kids swam on a particular hot day. It's great for paddle boarding. Seen two life guards vehicle on beach.
There are plenty of car or caravan parking spaces available in front of beach. Remember it's not free parking lol. Over all one of the great beach I have been to.

Great beach split into dog and no dog sides ,
Food stalls and bins on the beach life guards
Very clean can get very busy but there is plenty of space parking available on the road and carpark at 10 for all-day or 5 for after 4pm

One of the best beaches around uk for relaxing and surfing. You cannot go wrong with this place. Very very busy in high season but definately worth trying. Lifeguards are on duty on both sides of the beach which is divided for dog friendly or not. Plenty of car parking spaces within very short walking distance. Surfing equipment avalible, as well as ice cream coffees and quick snacks.toilets are avalible free of charge on each side of the main entrance.

Fabulous beach. Surfing, lifeguards attentive and vigilant. Toilets, litter bins in various spots along the beach. Food options. Clearly signed areas for: emergency access, dog free areas, dog on lead, off lead and surfing zones. A great day out.
Bull Point Lighthouse is a working building on the rugged north Devon coast, ensuring shipping safety. Visitors can't enter the lighthouse but can enjoy views from adjacent cottages. The approach road is challenging, and there's limited mobile reception and internet access. A 1 1/4 mile walk leads to the small lighthouse, offering a pleasant experience for walking or cycling enthusiasts.
Great viewing point, beaware sometimes they lock the gates into the area with the lighthouse, which we got caught out by. Other then that great viewing spot and what looks to be good accommodation.
Olly Stump — Google review
Walked from Mortehow, took a couple of hours, up and down the coast path, quite steep, great views, came back up the road to the village which was the easy way back. Can be livestock so dogs should be on lead.
Sue — Google review
Labelled as tourist attraction, but upon arrival, it’s littered with “private property” signs. Not sure why it is labelled as a tourist attraction if you aren’t allowed to visit or go up to see the lighthouse.
Perhaps open a cafe and ice-cream stall if you’re going to advertise yourself as an attraction rather than something to go and look at for 5 minutes before moving on. Perhaps we didn’t see this because we arrived on a bank holiday and so the site was closed for that purpose, but the signage is really unwelcoming.
Lovely walks in the surrounding area make coming here not a dreadful waste of time, but some of the routes aren’t suited for inexperienced hikers or those with walking issues.

Long walk down 1 1/4 mile quite (Bull point lighthouse ) a small light house nice pleasant walk, we walked from Damage Barton caravan site nice walk with the dogs ,when on holls like to walk or cycle (got bike trailer for dogs ) do not drive if I can help it

You can only reach on foot, around a 2 mile walk, some hills but nothing that steep. Once there it is a lovely spot. The orginal lighthouse fell down. The one here now built in the 70s using much of the original equipment. Three flashes every 10 seconds, no fog signal

We stayed for a week in one of the cottages and had a fantastic stay. It is so peaceful and quiet, a great place for star gazing. If your staying here be aware of the walkers using the road to the lighthouse.
George Preston — Google review
Stayed in one of the cottages adjacent to the lighthouse. The views were great, the single carriage approach road less so- the local museum does a tractor/trailer tour twice a week and if you are unfortunate to time it badly...
No mobile reception and functionality no internet, which is only a problem if you need them (kids may freak out at the 1990s vibe this causes).

Magic, loved that it's a working lighthouse. Warden Cottage beautifully appointed. Quiet, big views, on the South West Coast Path.

Very disappointed because you need to leave the car in town and then walk 45m to get there and no access to the lighthouse but beautiful view
If you're looking for a secluded beach with stunning views, Barricane Beach is the perfect spot. With crystal-clear waters and plenty of rocks to explore, it's perfect for swimming and sunbathing. Plus, there's a seasonal cafe serving Sri Lankan food nearby if you need some sustenance.
Really lovely little beach and nicer than visiting all of the busier bigger beaches. There is a small takeaway cafe down there with sandwiches and other things. The rock formations down here and very picturesque and fun to walk and climb around. Definitely worth a visit. You can park on the road above if you manage to find a space otherwise you will need to walk a short while to get there.

Great little beach with plenty of small rock pools to explore, not a sandy beach but shell and shale. Nice place for a sea swim but on big swell days the rocks are very close by. On windy days the foam is huge, the kids love it but get very messy, pack spare clothes!

This is s gorgeous little cove right next to woolacombe, we came late on around 5 for the Sri Lankan curry night from 5 till 7 approx served in a little cabin at the top of the beach delicious and eat a view while you eat!
Liz Gaffney — Google review
Absolutely beautiful and great fun for all the family, including dogs🙂 Paddle boarding is good but can't go too far as the current will potentially drag you towards the rocks.
When the tide is out the rocks are great for exploring. Lots of rock pools, shells etc. Beautiful scenery. Definitely recommend.

Fantastic sheltered beach tucked around the corner from Woolocombe beach.
You will have to pay for parking on the road above the beach and walk down. The beach is made up of fine seashells. Dogs are allowed on the beach but must be kept on leads at all times.
Would recommend getting a Sri Lanka curry which is sold from a small cafe down on the beach. They are cash only so be prepared. Healthy portion size.

Lovely little shingle beach. The cafe serves sri lankan curry in the evening. Not licensed so you take your own booz and sit and watch the sunset :)

Loved Barricane - we went when tide was right out so you could walk round the point onto flat, practically empty expanse of sand. Was beautiful, and the rock formations stunning that form a channel when tide is in. We went for a dip with bodyboards and a few surfers were out - was a bit chilly, definitely recommend long wetsuits!
Beach made of fine shale with rock pools amongst the characterful rocks on the walk down, but then sand when tide out.
Seemed very clean too.

Lovely beach with clean and clear waters. A very well-kept beach with no litter. Good, clean sand. The whole family will enjoy a day at the beach. There are food and ice cream vans at the beach. There are toilets and showers to rinse yourself nearby. There is also a shop for water wear. Parking is £12 for the whole.
It's a very popular beach so it can be crowded.

Beautiful little cove with a snack shack that makes amazing Sri Lankin curry's from 5pm. Only £9.95 two curry's and rice. You can eat it on the beach or on the benches looking out to sea. Highly recommended 👌

Great beach, parking overlooking the beach. Summer holidays is dog friendly but to the left side of the water stream

Such a beautiful hidden gem of a beach. Protected from the breeze and plenty of rock pools to explore. If you look carefully enough, there are lots of tiny exotic shells to be found .... look out for the Cowrie shells!
Don't miss out on the cafe food. Delicious authentic food served all day - especially the Sri Lankan curry from 5 - 7pm !!

Beautiful spot. Spent the night in our camper van off season & can’t believe it’s free! Limited parking spaces and gets very busy but we were very happy with our spot and will definitely be returning for more nights away.
