Parashar Lake is a serene and immaculate lake situated atop a mountain, bordered by a 13th-century pagoda-style temple. Guides and porters are available at the beginning of the trail to assist families and youngsters. It is an ideal spot for before-and-after with the Dhauladhar mountain range, including Kangra and Dharamshala nearby. Private 4x4 cars are required to reach the lake as personal vehicles are prohibited during snowy seasons.
Very calm, clean and one of the beautiful places i have ever been.
Visit this place not just for fun but for Spirituality.

Mesmerising..
Hidden gem on the way to kullu- Manali route. 24 kms from Mandi. Difficult terrain to drive if you aren’t skilled better hire a taxi and dont risk ur life driving self. All kinds of cars can reach here till the snow creeps in. During snow only a 4*4 vehicle can make its way all up to the top.
Beautiful temple and nearby lake. You can setup ur camps nearby for stay as Mandir has now banned the tourist accommodation within the premises.
There is common washroom near the temple area and you wont have to go in the open.
Best time to visit - All weather except heavy snow months (Jan - Feb).
Snacks is available like maggi omelette and few of the stalls serves food like dal rise and rajma chawal as well.
Will plan to visit again …

This is the place where Rishi Parasar Rishi ( Sage/ Saint) did penance for years. To climb this place is challenging for drivers, cos roads to this place were very rough and was difficult for our driver to go through, in May,2023. Place is very calm and silent though there was no public when we reached there at about 1:00 in noon. History here is the island in Prasar lake is floating. We enjoyed this place and got blessings from Rishi Parasar/ Prasar.

Beautiful secluded lake within temple compound. It's very peaceful and a lot of devotees visit this place. One can trek on the surrounding hills and get a view of snow clad mountain ranges around. Access to lake is not permitted but one can circle around the lake. Access to the lake premises is only by foot and requires walking for about 100m from the main motorable road.

A very beautiful as well as sacred place on the top of the mountains, where you get huge grasslands and a broader view of mountains ❤️❤️ It's really beautiful. You can drive to the temple itself and this road to Prashar is also very beautiful.

Excellent. Every season it is unique. The floating island is excellent. You can go for a hike after, which will give you an excellent view of Tenon's and the lake.
The temple is pretty old and built using wood. It has a very good story, please listen to it from the poojari of the temple.
The car almost goes top, a small walk is required to reach the lake.
Not much options for food, maggi is common. On weekends you can get sandwiches, rice, etc.

It is an amazing place to visit and there are a couple of Easy locations that you can camp too, but do note that in rainy weather these places basically become a slush ground and it becomes very very hard to ride your vehicle here as most of the soil here is clay.
So you'll be first sliding in the snow climbing up to here and further sliding in the clay soil that is wet from the snow, so please be prepared to come here.
The place is somewhat of a mess as there are a lot of broken alcohol bottles and trash scattered all over the camping grounds, but the view is something which makes you forget everything.
Arth Koshta (Yash) — Google review
I went there in the mid of August.
Although Parashar Lake have different views in different seasons, yet I would not recommend you to visit this Holly place during the peak of the monsoon.
During my visit, the last section of the road towards the lake is very treacherous and difficult to navigate. Moreover, the dense fog and continuous showers made it 10 times hard.
The foggy weather was kinda alluring, but you will not able to see anything around. The famous floating island was also not visible.
So, end of the day, the best time to visit here is when the weather is clear and the views are not inhibited.
Keep in mind that Parashar is more of a religious place than a camping ground. You can camp outside the temple premises, but a respectful behaviour is must.
Nowadays, it is becoming a very popular tourist spot, but keep in mind that if you are visiting here, then please keep your trash with yourself and bring it out of the place as the waste management is difficult here.
Enjoy the beauty of this place, camp here, cook here, do whatever you wanna do, but please maintain the sanctity of the temple.

Lake location is very unique and beautiful. Lake is in kind of a small valley surrounded by big mountains which give awesome view.
The prashar temple is very unique in architecture which is not so common in India. Its kind of pagoda architecture we see in Buddhism. The vibe of the place is very different.

A Serene Gem: A Must-Visit Destination
Date of Visit: May 2023
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Parashar Lake, and I must say it is an absolute gem hidden amidst the majestic mountains. This serene destination stands out as one of the best, quietest, and most amazing places I have ever had the privilege to experience.
The One of the most enchanting aspects of Parashar Lake is its serene atmosphere. Unlike other popular tourist destinations, the lake remains relatively undiscovered. The peacefulness of the surroundings is truly unmatched, making it an ideal spot for meditation.
Until last year, there were many camping sites very close to the lake and for good these have been pushed few kilometres farther. Though your can opt staying at FRH with basic amenities.
In conclusion, Parashar Lake is truly a hidden paradise that deserves recognition among the best destinations in Himachal Pradesh.

I recently had the most breathtaking experience at Parashar Lake, and words cannot adequately express the beauty and serenity I encountered there.
The trek to Parashar Lake was exhilarating and offered spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and lush forests.

I recently visited the Parashar Rishi Temple in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, and it was a memorable experience despite some initial challenges. The area marred by heavy rainfall and a cloudburst in July, which caused road damage in the Baghi area. However, I must commend the local administration for their swift efforts to improve the road conditions. By the time we arrived, buses were running smoothly, making the trip much more pleasant.
The Parashar Rishi Temple itself is a hidden gem nestled in the picturesque Himalayan mountains. The temple's architecture is a blend of traditional Himachali style, which adds to its unique charm. The serene lake, surrounded by lush greenery, offers a tranquil setting for visitors to meditate and soak in the natural beauty. It's not just a place of worship but also a historical and cultural treasure. The temple offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and peaks, making it a paradise for nature lovers and photographers.
While there, I also had the opportunity to interact with the friendly local residents who shared stories and legends associated with the temple. The tranquility and spirituality of the place left a lasting impression on me.
In conclusion, despite the initial road challenges, my visit to the Parashar Rishi Temple was a rewarding experience. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and scenic getaway in Himachal Pradesh, but do check the road conditions beforehand, especially during the monsoon season.

Prashar lake is a real beauty and is absoultely different in all three seasons. If you go around march-april it will be dry , in december -january it is covered with snow and around august-september it’s all green. So dry season and monsoon season car goes upto parashar temple and from there you need to trek down for about 20minutes to reach temple and lake. In snow season it is a complete trek for 3-4hours. A beautiful and relaxing place to meditate

Prashar Lake is an absolute gem nestled in the serene Himalayas. The journey to this pristine destination is an adventure in itself, with winding roads offering breathtaking views. Upon reaching, the majestic lake surrounded by snow-capped peaks leaves you awe-inspired. The tranquility is unparalleled, providing a perfect escape from the hustle of city life.
The camping experience by the lake is surreal, offering a front-row seat to nature's grandeur. The sunrise and sunset reflections on the pristine water create a mesmerizing spectacle. The simplicity of the surroundings, coupled with the warm hospitality of the locals, adds to the charm of Prashar Lake.
While the basic amenities cater to the essence of the place, visitors should come prepared for the rustic experience. The trek to the lake is moderately challenging, making it suitable for both beginners and seasoned trekkers. Prashar Lake is a haven for nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers, an idyllic retreat that beckons with its untouched beauty.

A very calm and beautiful place where you can visit and enjoy snow in the month of January- February
You can easily spend 3-4 hours just by sitting on the bench and doing nothing, you will feel that your soul is also enjoying it.
The trek - a person who doesn't walk on a daily basis will take 40- 60 minutes to climb and who is active will take 20-30 minutes.
The road is good, the horrible jungle has no shops nearby or people.
No mechanic shop in the region if your vehicle gets stuck so keep your arrangement before.
And please don't spread plastic or pollution there its a huge request from every vistor
And enjoy the pictures taken by me

Shikari Devi temple is about 18 Kms from Janjehli and connected by a jeepable Forest road. It is situated at an altitude of 3359 Mtr. Thick forests on the way to Shikari peak are amazing. Being the highest peak of Mandi District it is also called Crown of Mandi. Vast green pastures, captivating sunrise and sunset, panoramic view of snow ranges make this place favorite to nature lovers. The place receives a lot of snow during winters. The place can be approached from Karsog which is just 21 Kms from Shikari Devi. On the Shikari peak, there is a roofless temple of Shikari Devi, the Goddess of hunters and this temple is said to be established (Sathapit) by Pandavas. It is said that sage Markanday also meditated at this place for number of years. It has been observed that despite the fact that temple has no roof, no snow is spotted in temple premises during winters when the entire region around this temple is covered upto several feet by snow. Visitors can trek to Chindi, Karsog, Janjehli through different trek routes from Shikari. Adventurists can visit Kamrunag by undertaking a day long journey of 16 Kms by trekking the vast spread pastures on this hill top route with breathtaking scenic beauty and perfect calmness.

The Shikari Devi temple is located on a hill top of Mandi district under middle Himalayan region with an altitude of around 3300 mt. Just google and know the mythological history behind Shikari Mata. The area lies under Shikari Devi Wildlife Sanctuary surrounded by majority of high level Oaks (brown oak) associated with fir in opposite aspect. You have to walk up the stairs by around 600 mt from the parking area through the beauty of Kharsu oak forest. Amazing view while going through the apple orchards, dense mixed coniferous forest from . This was the sanctuary that in 1962 received official recognition from the Indian government. Goral, black bear, leopard, musk deer, and monal are just some of the animals that visitors to the jungle may see. The strange thing of the Shikari Mata temple is that despite the fact that the temple has no roof, no snow is spotted on temple premises during winters when the entire region around this temple is covered in snow up to several feet. After reaching at the temple location, the snowy peaks of Greater Himalayan Range in a line make me spellbound for a moment, no words to say but feel the beauty of nature and our existence in between. If you can book the forest rest house from the DFO, Shikari Devi WLS, you will get an unforgettable night halt near the Shikari Mata temple. Kindly do not pollute the environment by throwing plastics anywhere... save Himalayas...Save our Mother Nature.

Bada Dev-Kamrunag Temple, a Hindu sanctuary located in the midst of natural surroundings, can only be accessed via trekking routes. Positioned on the shore of a lake, this remote temple is known for its awe-inspiring scenery and peaceful ambiance. Visitors to this sacred site can enjoy hiking through lush greenery while experiencing the beauty of nature.
I recently visited Kamrunag Dev temple and was absolutely mesmerized by its beauty.
The temple is dedicated to Kamrunag Dev.
Kamrunag Dev temple holds a special place in Hindu mythology and history.
Visiting the temple, I couldn't help but feel the strong connection to the ancient tales and legends that surround it. The temple itself is beautifully crafted and exudes a sense of spirituality and serenity.
In addition to its architectural beauty, the natural surroundings of the temple are equally impressive. The temple is located near a stunning lake and surrounded by majestic mountains and tree's that add to the already serene atmosphere of the temple.
However, it is important to note that the temple is closed during the winter months from November to January Feb due to heavy snowfall. So, if you plan to visit, make sure to check the opening hours and plan your visit accordingly.

It is said that there is a treasure hidden underwater which belongs to the Mahabharata period and is visible but can not be touched. The temple of the KamruNag deity is also established near the KamruNag lake. If we believe in ancient beliefs, this treasure is protected by the Nagraj of the temple. A fair is organized every year in this temple of nagas in the month of juneduring which ritualistic serpents are also worshipped.According to local people, no one is able to take the treasure from KamruNag lake. Though there were many hypothesis to explain the origin, according to old beliefs once a British man tried to extract gold from this lake but he failed and became very ill. Another belief is that a snake-like tree surrounds this mountain and If someone puts his hand in the treasures of this lake, locals say that these trees are snake deities and come in their true form.
The best time to visit KamruNag Temple is during any day of the year but the apt time for witnessing the divine aura is in the month of June. A three-day fair is organized and numerous pilgrims visit the site to seek the blessings of Lord Kamrunag.

Loved this place on 10,450 feet but on the other side trekking is dangerous also. Need good and proper trekking shoes because trekking way is very steep and very dangerous.. while you trekking to the top on your one side there is deep valley and treks are also very risky and slippery. Even somewhere you have to climb rocks as a part of trekking.. there is no track at all in some of the places. It's a 6km trek and we took 4 hrs to reached on the top where Kamrunag temple is located. You have to take utmost care while going back to down. If going in group then keep umbrellas with you because rain comes anytime after 2-3 pm. When we were coming down heavily rain started with hailstones and in 5-10 minutes whole valley on the top covered with hailstones and treks become more slippery and it's almost next to impossible for us to keep continue on those slippery treks. We almost been trapped but thanks to God that we keep moving slowly slowly and came down finally in 3 hrs so my advise is if you are going then take ample amount of water, food and umbrellas with you because in the amidst of the journey you didn't get anywhere all these things. Once you will reached on the top you will get things to drink and eat.

Triloknath Temple, a revered Hindu sanctuary constructed during the 16th century, is renowned for its position alongside a river and an abundance of intricate sculptures. This historical temple boasts an impressive array of artistry and architecture that reflects the rich cultural heritage of India. Its location near a flowing water body adds to its serene ambiance, attracting pilgrims from all over the world who seek to offer their prayers and pay homage to the deities worshipped within its sacred walls.
The most serene, most beautiful ancient temple on the bank of river Beas. (Bipasha).
Its not very big, but perfect in ancient architectural schema, a Sikhara type stone temple with amalaka at the top and very inteicately curved stone motifs on it. The main shrine is with Garvagriha and square mandapam before it. a few other smaller temples are present in the courtyard, but two are comleyely ruined.
The courtyard is wonderful, overlooking the mighty Bipasha, with this temple complex and trees. On the other bank another beautiful temple can be seen on the other bank at the confluence of the Suketi Khal with the Bipasha river. The most suitable site to errect the Panchavactro Temple. If one turns to left, the british era beautiful bridge can be seen. This place is a little spot of heaven on earth.
The temple have many carvings with a distinct stylisation. The main deity is a big idol of Lord Shiva in its three headed avatar, Mata Parvati on his left lap, mounted on the Nandi the bull.
What I found most interesting in this temple is an intricately curved, big Nandi idol in standing position in the temple. I have never seen such a idol of sole Nandi figure in standing position, but always on sitting and awaiting position at entrance of every shiva temple, and this one has one such idol as well.
The other idols are many Ganesha idols, Kali murti, Mata Parvati and a peacock mounted six headed Karthikeya in meditative pose, - this is also interesting as it is not common to see the Dev-Senapati ( Commandar-in-chief of the gods) with a Japamala ( rosary). There is a "Padachap" in front of the entrance.
The inner pillars must have been very well decorated with stone curvings, but all those has been stiffed off.
The plaque outside mntioned the construction is of sixteenth century, but from the ageing it seems profoundly more olden, or perhaps the temple has been sujected to flooding and inundation for prolongged period repeatedly over the millenia., and/or it was recontructed by Sultana Sen the queen of Ajber Sen on an older site predated by a few millenia perhaps at 1520.
There is a source of spring within the complex as well.

Mandi, an ancient town in Himachal Pradesh is full of mysteries. The place is quite famous for its scenic beauty but it's way more than that as the town contains a lot of history and spiritual significance in its old structures and folklore.
Mandi is called the Kashi of Himachal because it shares the same spiritual significance as Kashi. The town is built on the bank of the Beas River, at the confluence of the Suketi Khad stream. Besides the river ghats and among the town's streets are over 80 stone-built ancient temples, Including Triloknath.
The Triloknath temple is one of the oldest surviving temples in the town, dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. It contains a three-faced murti of Shiva, hence the name Trilokinath, "Lord of Three Worlds". It is said that the temple was built by Sultana Devi Queen of Raja Ajbar Sen in 1520. There's a sculpture of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, Goddess Narda, and Goddess Sharda, a stone image of three-faced Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, riding on the Nandi along with that of a few more Hindu Gods and Goddesses.

A very beautiful old temple where very less people visit. Temple is very beautifully made but severely damaged by past rulers (Moguls probably).
Beautiful relics and idols are still kept for viewers to admire.
It also has its own "Leaning temple" like 'Leaning tower of Pias'

Lord Shiva as the main deity of Bhootnath, Trilokinath, Panchvaktra and other important temples has ordained Mandi as the 'Varanasi of the Hills' as 'Choti Kashi'. For its temple architecture, old palace and rich traditions, Mandi is so often considered as the cultural capital of the state.
Mandi is also known as “Chotti Kashi” due to its similarity with Varanasi in respect of Ghats on the bank of Beas River and temples of Lord Shiva near the Ghats. The place is often described as cultural capital of Himachal Pradesh due to its rich culture, traditions and temple architectural heritage.
In the year 1705, the image was named Madho Rai and deified and was ordained as the King of the State of Mandi. The subsequent kings served the state as the servants of Madho Rao and were custodians of the state. This God holds the highest rank and status among all other gods on various religious occasions.

Ancient temple with 3 faced Shiva murti being worshipped in the temple. The temple is only 5 6 walking minutes from Victoria Bridge. The temple is peaceful and is a preservation site by ASI. Kept in its real form only, not so renovated and tampered, so a good place to experience history in pristine form. Parking would be a problem as the temple is very connected to Manali-Kullu main way. Basic amenities like washroom and shops all available nearby. Peaceful, you can hear the Beas flowing.

However, temple is situated at very peak of the mountain, and it should not be related to tourist place or where people want to spent their weekend. This place is very spiritual and should be kept in that manner which i request everyone to understand it's important. For outsider couple who come here just for fun, I want to clearly make them understand , God's on the mountains are deity for the locals and please don't create nusiance and litter every where which you guys actually do in your place..

A beautiful Temple situated at the top of hill, during my childhood, we used to go there regularly. Once situated in forest, it has become part of Mandi city. Stairs of the temple are in bad condition and dirty because no one wants to use stairs these days.

Tarna mata mandir, or Shyamakali mata mandir holds a history that atleast some 200 300 years ago the Sen king of Mandi won a war and on that occasion build this temple. This is at some height from Mandi town and from here you can see the whole town. The temple is very well maintained, clean and basic washroom facilities available at a nearby park outside temple. From the bus stand or Indira market area one can easily find a rikshaw at 50-60 to reach there but may find difficulty to find one while coming down. There are steps to directly come down through lanes and houses but a first timer may find the route confusing and get lost. A Peaceful place.
