Eight views of Kamifura
If you turn at the sign ``Nishi 11-sen Nomen-no-do'' along National Route 237, you will find yourself on a 2.5km straight road with significant elevation changes.
It is a scenic spot with rice fields and hills spread out along the road, and as you climb up you can see the Tokachi Mountain Range. It was also featured in the 2005 drama ``Yashii Jikan.''
There are also 11 footpath courses where you can enjoy the scenery on foot, and a Furano long ride course where you can cycle from Biei to Furano.
A road that goes on forever, just like Hokkaido.
Of course, when driving, be sure to obey the legal speed limit.

Located about four kilometers to the east of the main Farm Tomita facility, Lavender East is a sprawling 14-hectare lavender field that offers a spectacular sight. Visitors can take a rustic tractor-drawn carriage ride through the expansive fields and enjoy the breathtaking views. The area was originally rice paddies before being transformed into the largest lavender fields in Furano.
Love this place. The aroma of lavender is in the air! We went there at 9 am, and no one was there yet so we had good time taking photos before the crowd comes at around 10am.There is a kinda bus ( tractor) that carry tourists for a ride around the lavender farm. The Flower Land Kamifurano souvenir store offers a wide range of gifts and fresh melons. There is also a restaurant on-site. The flowers are in bloom from May to September, and the best time to visit is between June and July.
Some tour buses but the layout of the farm makes it not crowded. No fee to enter or park. Big free parking zone with toilets nearby. One of our favourites flowerfarms in furano, neat & clean. The farm overlooks the valley & mountain range in the distance, stunning sceneries. There is workshop to make pillow etc. A souvenir shop & melon, snacks & ice cream are sold at cafeteria. Many wedding couples have their shootings during our visit.

We visited this in 2nd week of oct and there was still an hour before the published closing time of 5pm. However nothing much can be seen in the market place area (not sure if everyone has already closed shop or all good were sold off etc). We spent some time in the section selling food stuff and souvenir before venturing out to walk about the beautiful fields of flowers.

The flower landscape might not be fantastic, but the view of the mountains behind it is fantastic. There is lesser crowd in the morning and it was so great enjoying the fresh air and beautiful atmosphere and landscape.
Farm Tomita might have more flowers, but too crowded with tourists and can't really take nice photos with so many people at the background

Not as popular as the other flower gardens in the area which is a good thing as it’s not overrun by tourists. We had the place almost to ourselves. There are a couple of lookouts and you can walk in amongst the flowers here. There is a tractor tour that takes you around that lasts about ten minutes for a small cost, we chose to walk instead as it doesn’t take too long to walk around. Theres a large variety of flowers but wasn’t any lavender when we visited (August) as it must have just been harvested. There’s a shop here too and an area for photos (they have melon and cucumber hats you can put on).

The Goto Sumio Museum, located in the picturesque Kamifurano, Hokkaido, houses a collection of 130 remarkable works by the renowned artist. Goto Sumio was captivated by the beauty of Kamifurano and decided to make it his home. The museum showcases his awe-inspiring landscape paintings that he dedicated decades to complete.
What a nice surprise. In the middle of Hokkaido countryside there is a small museum with some impressively BIG paintings. Master Gotosumio has been painting his work literally over decades - working on the SAME paintings. Super impressive. And in the middle of inspiring landscape.

Hinode Park is a large park with rolling fields of lavender and colorful flowers, as well as camping grounds. It is popular for wedding ceremonies, and the view from the hills is quite amusing.
People skip out on this because it isn't Tomita or the like. But the top observatory is beautiful and it's free. You get a nice view of the city and it's bigger than the two curated farms. You could easily spend an hour here when it's peak summer.

Mt. Furano is easy to attack despite its high altitude. The mountain trail is well-maintained and easy to walk, making it popular among beginners, but the volcanic ash makes it easy to twist your ankles on the path with large and small rocks, and there are some small crossings, so hiking shoes (not sneakers) are required. I skipped whether it was just a parking lot or a rest parking lot, but I wondered if it would be about time I could eat the hard ice cream I bought at Farm Tomita. I happened to park just to eat ice cream, but I was overwhelmed by the scenery because I went that far.
It is recommended if the weather is good.

According to the document, this building was demolished and restored from the house of Teijiro Yoshida, the village mayor who worked hard to recover from the mudslide caused by the eruption of Mt. Tokachidake in 1920.
It is said to be a valuable building that still exists, as it was damaged by mudslides during the Taisho era.
It is said that it was first settled in the 30th year of the Meiji era and was built in 1997 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of its founding.
As you might expect from the outside, it is a one-story wooden building✌️.
Outside, there is a literary monument erected from driftwood discovered at the factory site during the mudslide, as well as a literary monument to author Ayako Miura's novel ``Mudslide Area''✌️.
Inside the museum, there are many valuable materials and exhibits, including explanations of the damage caused by the mudslide and items left behind by Mayor Yoshida.

I was about to give up and take only photos of the exterior and head home, but someone who was mowing the grass in the area opened it for me. It is said that the village chief's house from that time, which was miraculously still standing, was relocated here in 1923, when Tokachidake erupted and caused a terrible mudslide that killed 144 people. They were also kind enough to let me see the inside of the house, and I learned a lot from seeing the items that gave me a sense of what life was like back then. The large tree lying there had been pulled out of a mudslide at the time, and the charred remains looked fresh. There was a monument to Ayako Miura, a writer from Asahikawa who became famous for ``Freezing Point'', who wrote the story of a family at that time. It is deeply moving to think that such difficult history and efforts have led to the landscape we see today. If you happen to be in the area, please stop by and take a look. I'm sure you'll be deeply moved by the beauty of the flowers you see.

There is a normal space of about 25m6 lanes and a shallow space for children. Children up to 2nd grade are only allowed to enter if accompanied by a guardian. The children's space has two slides facing the pool. However, it didn't seem to be very slippery on wet skin.
Children and residents of the town are free, but there is a fee depending on whether you are an adult or an out-of-town resident. By the way, it should have cost 100 yen for an adult town resident. I want to believe that the pressure just happened to be weak.
In any case, as far as I know, it's probably the only pool in the town, so it's used by schools, daycare centers, etc., and even adults who don't use it are also swimming there.
