Karon View Point, formerly known as Kata Viewpoint, is a popular destination in Phuket offering breathtaking views of the ocean, beaches, and lush island surroundings. Situated along the coastal road behind Kata, Kata Noi, and Karon beaches, it provides simultaneous panoramic views of all three sandy crescents with the blue sea on one side and green forests on the other.
Stunning vantage point at the Karon View Point to see Kata and Karon Beaches. You can see the Big Buddha in the distance as well. The view just reinforces just how beautiful Thailand is. Blessed with amazing natural beauty, people and so much more.

This place is beautiful to look down on the beaches and wasn’t very busy either. We went for sunset being recommended for the lovely views, however in January it seems the sun sets behind a blocked view of trees so didn’t get to see the sunset after all. The rest of it is very nice though and I recommend a trip up.

Beautiful view. If you taste a taxi or tuktuk, have then stay there until you leave. If is not easy to get one to come pick you up!

This place has an excellent view looking north. It's an incredible view of Karon, Kata, and little Kata. We pulled in just in time for sunset. The sunset is obstructed by the trees. However, the highlight is looking north. Also there were very few people here. Very lush, chill tropical feel. I think this would be ideal to visit prior to sunset.

Good place for a quick 10 minute break with nice views over 3 beautiful bays. Karon, kata and Kata Noi beaches. Just down the road is an awesome small cafe.

Beautiful and memorable 💖
Saw one lady letting us pet her sea eagle and click photos with him. His name was Rambo. He was such calm and gee bird.

In January 2023, my family and I had the wonderful opportunity to visit Karon Viewpoint, one of Phuket's most popular attractions. Positioned between Nai Harn and Kata Noi beaches, this viewpoint offered us a panoramic view of the magnificent Andaman Sea and Phuket's breathtaking west coast beaches, including Kata Noi, Kata Yai, and Karon.
The viewpoint, also known as the Three Beaches Hill, provided us with an unobstructed 8-km vista, which is, without a doubt, one of the most photographed images in Phuket. The enchanting combination of the sparkling blue sea, pristine white-sand beaches, the exotic nearby island of Koh Pu, and the lush green hillsides of Phuket created a captivating landscape that left us in awe.
Despite its popularity and frequent crowds, we found the viewpoint well facilitated. There was ample parking space, and even when it got a bit crowded, people conveniently parked on the roadside. We appreciated the presence of several drinks and snack stands and a large gazebo providing shade, making our visit comfortable and relaxing.
Located a short 10-minute drive from both Kata Beach and Nai Harn Beach, Karon Viewpoint is a must-visit for its iconic and stunning vistas. This captivating viewpoint truly encapsulates the beauty and charm of Phuket. We highly recommend it to all future visitors to the island.

Our Grab driver showed us this spot and we were quite glad he did! It has a great view of the city and it is completely free! They do charge if you want to use the restroom though. Peak times will be at sunset so plan accordingly because it can get really busy and packed with people trying to take photos. Some people will be rude and obnoxious when you're trying to take photos since the area can be a bit tight. But otherwise, the view is lovely and well worth it!

Man o man! If you are going after the Big Buddha temple then please spend another 20 minutes in this spot along your way! Trust me, this place is super underrated and peaceful. You can take some dope pictures here

We rented motorcycles for a day around the island. One of Phuket's attractions is driving on beautiful forest roads. Around noon we reached this point. Here you can see very beautiful views of the coastal islands and the sea and ....There was an eagle named Rambo that you could take a picture with for a very small amount of money! There was also a cafe and a number of stalls selling water, snacks, etc. I love fresh green coconut, which I fortunately found there!

Easily accessible cute little viewpoint overlooking 3 of the beaches. Would look even more fabulous on a clear day but still great either way. Lots of places to sit around and chill too if you’re not in a rush. An area for drone flying too if that’s your thing (and you have the licence of course lol). Quick easy tick off the list!

Nice view, but parking can be almost impossible when busy. You can see Kata and Karon beaches and the Big Buddha. They have toilets (10 THB, no toilet paper). Not wheelchair accessible.

Sunset is beautiful. A must visit, worth it of you like view.
You can see kata noi, kata and Karon beach from here. This view point is actually nearer to Kata, wonder why they call it Karon View point.
This Location is definitely not at Karon beach there so don't get confuse
After sunset, quick drop by to Kata noi beach to enjoy the small beach before night fall and just leave the place because prices here are more pricey!

A beautiful view of Phuket. From this point you can see the beaches of Kamala, Karon, Kata and the coast of Big Buddha. A place that, in addition to the beautiful view, brings peace and freshness. I recommend!

The view where we ate lunch is arguably better than the view here. It was okay...but, there's so much foliage in the way. Plus, there's so many people trying to get a good picture. There's no charge to visit so I don't know what people are paying 500 ฿ for. The coolest thing was the girl at the bottom of the viewpoint taking pictures of you with her Sea Eagle for 100 ฿. Not much to see, but we stopped because it was on our way to something else.

It was just another view point. It was okay, nothing super exciting or shocking. It was pretty though. If you're passing by and can have your driver or you're able to stop by for 10 minutes It may be worth it if you like view points.

Kata Noi Beach, also known as "little Kata Beach," is a stunning coastal gem located adjacent to resorts and restaurants. Despite being one of the smallest beaches in the area, it is widely regarded as one of the best in Phuket due to its pristine white sand, clear waters, and excellent facilities including dining options and a few hotels. Unlike its larger neighbor, Kata Noi offers a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere for most of the day.
One of best beaches in Phuket. Super clean beach, crystal clear water. Sunbeds, restaurant and massage available.

Great beach, water is great and clear. Very mixed people but mostly couples and families as expected. 200B for sunbeds. Great views and park near neach. Also bar is available for drinks and food but you bring it to sunbed yourself. Beach is gets deep pretty quick.
Masar Haider — Google review
A short (750m) stretch of beach with great surf, with rocky outcrop on either end. Mostly visited by guests of the Katathani resort and public via a narrow path from the main road
Andrew Wong — Google review
Two access points for public use, neither of which is necessarily easy compared to other beaches. Steep stair decent with minimal parking among the road at the far right side/north end of the beach. You're parking on the hill part of the road before descending down to the beach town. There is a nasty looking bathroom at the top of the steps, which wasn't open when I was there.
The other access point is basically in the middle of the beach with parking on a very narrow and conjested road. There are a couple of pay parking lots along the road which makes for a hike with your beach gear.
View from the beach is beautiful, but there's no shade, so bring an umbrella. Nice sand and beautiful water. Can possibly do some basic snorkeling from the south end. Doesn't have your typical food and drink stalls. Resorts line the whole beach, except for that narrow center entry point. The breach is somewhat medium sized, which can feel private if there aren't many people. Otherwise, it would feel crowded.
Monica N. — Google review
We were on the upper side of the beach. There is some shades to hide from the sun, water was quite good, there were some waves coming deep into the sand. We liked the beach, nearby there is a toilet as well.
Otishone — Google review
Small beach with little food and drink shops. Difficult to find entrance if you are not staying at katathani hotel. We went there when the wave is strong.

Kata noi is a beautiful beach. The sand and sea are incredibly clean. On the beach itself, you have some shade and you also have deckchairs and umbrellas. The beach itself is easy to reach. It is accessible to everyone. There is a small problem with parking spaces because the place itself is crowded.
Goran Jai? — Google review
Absolutely beautiful and stunning. Lots of local vendors by the beach where you can get beach chairs, smoothies, coconut, and food. Water is clear and great for a swim. Careful with rocks though!
Peter Li — Google review
What a beautiful beach. We read that you could snorkel in the south end of the beach and we were pleasantly surprised at how many varieties of fish we saw (more than our 'snorkel' stop on Phi Phi.)
The southern end is quieter with only the one row of umbrellas and beach lounges (200 bhat for 2 people for the day). We were next to a hut that sold fresh coconuts and fruit. Tropical paradise.
The colour of the water was spectacular and crystal clear and in the southern end not as crowded as the rest of the beach. It was just a 5 min drive from our resort in Kata.

Beautiful beach and sunset. Everyone is so happy with great music coming from the beach bars. Not to crowded. Some beach chairs available for rent.

This beach is a cute little gem of Phuket nestled at the southern part of city. The beach is calm, serene and beautiful with not much crowd. There are also good places to eat around. If you are looking for a peaceful evening at a beach in the city, then you should go there

I was reading about the litter and rubbish on this beach prior to my visit. Unfortunately it hasn't changed. Such a beautiful beach but ruined by plastic everywhere. The local council should really do something about it... Beautiful place but please clean it up and save the wildlife.

Amazing beach, much better than neighboring kata beach. Very calm, crystal clear waters, white sandy beach, very lush greenery around. Stayed there for HOURS.

Very nice beach. Sand is fine, water deep, clean and warm. Here you can eat (also vegetarian), have a smoothie or drinks, get a Thai massage, rent a jet ski - all at a nice price. Two sun-beds costed us 200 baht. Concerning toilet, it is best to use the one in the nearby Seaside pub - it costs 20 baht and you need to throw a banknote into the dedicated box. We happily spent a whole day on the Kata Noi Beach.
Monika Rosa — Google review
Very nice beach. It had some small jellyfish, that didn't seem dangerous. Some people were even taking them in their hands.
We sat at the sunbeds, that we paid 200 Baht for (price for two overused sunbeds and one umbrella). The people that work there were very helpful.
Near by there are some people offering refreshments and massages. Also there are people going around selling stuff like necklaces and flutes.

Peaceful beach in Kata, definitely way nicer (but also smaller) than the main beach of Kata just 10 minutes away on foot. It is worth the walk. I’ve seen some of the prettiest sunsets of my life at this beach, just stunning. Sun beds and umbrellas are available for just 100 bahts per day. However, there are some things to note:
- the bathrooms are disgusting. They cost 10 bahts which is not much, but I’ve seen way cleaner free public toilets in other areas. This should definitely improve.
- you can get a thai massage directly on the beach, which is cool, but this is the only massage place in Thailand where I felt scammed, and I’ve been to many!! (I am writing it here since they don’t have a dedicated place on Google Maps). You pay for an hour of massage but you only get 45 minutes, in all other places you get the full hour. They don’t wash your feet before starting (you have to wash them yourself) and the ladies did not have a good attitude. I noticed them reducing the length of the massages systematically with other customers as well. The prices are not cheaper than other massage parlors right on the street next to the beach which are better equipped and more friendly.
- Restaurants on the street behind the beach are quite more expensive than those next to the main Kata beach. There are no restaurants on the beach; just resorts.
All in all, I recommend the beach, but beware of the points above.
Kata Beach, located in Phuket, is a bustling white-sand expanse offering a range of activities such as swimming, snorkeling, and sunbathing. The area is lined with restaurants and resorts catering to visitors. Additionally, the beach is close to Kata Village and features a 1.5km long stretch of calm waters suitable for water activities. Divided into Kata Noi Beach and Kata Yai, this family-friendly hotspot offers mesmerizing views and easy access to amenities.
Yes love it! Stayed up the road for three weeks. Pretty clean. Super touristy. Gets very busy. Water warm. Rent a surfboard, fly about in a parachute pulled by a speed boat, get a (sandy?) massage, buy some (pretty decent) RayBans dupes from the beach hawkers. Whichever end of Kata Beach you choose is beautiful and sunset is lovely.

At the moment (August 2023) the beach is polluted. Water has two big oil stains on and beach is full of small tar drops. You step on it and you ruin your flip-flops or get a nasty stain on your foot, skin, clothes...
Waves are high for most of the day so not really good for swimming and better for wind surfing.

Nice beach, alternative to Karon. In general, the beach has all the necessary infrastructure, many different options for food, desserts and drinks at the entrance, and a small parking lot. On the beach itself there are many sunbeds with umbrellas and chairs (the price is the same as on other beaches, 200 budd for an umbrella and 2 sunbeds). The sea is clean, the swimming area is fenced, the entrance is gentle, but closer to the right side of the beach there are many boats and diving is carried out, so it is better to swim in the middle.
The bottom is practically empty, simple fish, crabs, mantis shrimp (in burrows), and sometimes jellyfish.
From observations: if there are jellyfish and waves on Karon, then on Kata it can be much better, there will be fewer jellyfish on the right side of the beach, closer to the entrance. There is an island not far in the sea (the right side of the beach), on which there is a small reef, but it takes a long time to swim there, and boats will also interfere with swimming.

Phuket beaches, in my opinion, are filthy, with a lot of trash on the beach and in the ocean. This Kata beach is one of those, but tourists continue to enjoy it. This beach is great for surfing, but be aware of the trash drifting around. Sunset is good here. The neighborhood is convenient with night market and food market on the main street, which is full of retailers, coffee shops, bars, and restaurants, it’s ideal for people who enjoy animation and live music.

Big beach with an umbrella wall in the first row. It is hard to put Your towel anywhere. A lot pf people and some long tail boats as well, quite noisy.

Not much beach left. The water and beach is really crowded and doesn’t give a relaxing vibe. Feels like being in a sardine can.

Karon Temple Market is a must-visit spot in Phuket for shopping enthusiasts. Located near Wat Karon, this market offers a wide range of local products, including street snacks, spices, handicrafts, t-shirts, bags, watches and jewelry. Visitors can immerse themselves in the local culture while honing their bargaining skills. The market is open only on Tuesdays and Fridays and provides an excellent opportunity to combine shopping with exploring the nearby temple.
This market is set up two days of the week, on Tuesday and Friday.
Set in the parking lot of the Temple it has the usual mix of clothes, cheap trinkets and food & drink stalls.
The smell from the food stalls is all permeating and will tempt anyone eating into trying the wares on offer.
It is best to park at a slight distance or in the pay&park school ground next to the temple.
The market has been a bit subdued for now, but looks like it will get it's lustre back along with the rest of Karon

One of my favorite things to do while in Thailand is to visit the night markets. My Favorite market in Karon is the Karon Temple Markets. The street food is truly amazing and cheap. It is prepared fresh while you wait and there are all manner of delicious foods and drinks on offer. The other varied stalls have all manner of goods and clothing for sale at insanely low prices. You can always get a better deal by bartering with the individual stall holders. I got some great deals on clothing, watches and other assorted souvenirs. The markets operate in the temple precinct twice a week. I was a regular visitor.

Only on Tue and Fridays from 4 pm till late. It's really a vast difference from precovid days when it was crowded. Now there appears to be more sellers than buyers, sadly. There's still a wide range of casual clothing, beachware, souvenirs and street food

Karon Beach is a 4-kilometer stretch of golden sand and clear, calm waters, making it an ideal destination for couples and families. It's less crowded than Patong Beach but offers excellent swimming conditions when the weather is calm. However, caution is advised during windy days due to strong waves. The beach is lined with restaurants and resorts, with some offering direct beach access.
Karon beach is one of the most beautiful beaches. There is plenty of shade. The sea and the sand are beautiful. The beach is very long and there is never a crowd. This beach has incredibly beautiful yellow sand that gives the impression of a golden color. The beach is easy to reach and there is always parking. It is a wide beach with good sand. The sand is a bit special. It's amazing that has a cushioned feel like stepping on memory foam , like walking on snow. I liked that feeling, so I walked a lot on the beach barefoot. However, depending on the season, transparent jelly-like jellyfish can be found all over the beach, so you need to be careful. Parasols can be used all day for a fee. There is also a massage shop, and the massage you get while listening to the sound of the waves is the best.

A lovely beach to walk on during sunset. Away from the crowded and noisy beaches of Phuket, this one is a cozy and less crowded beach for an amazing beach outing. The streets facing the beach are dotted with up class restaurants serving delicious Thai and other cuisines.
The beach front is natural and dotted with tree lines giving much needed shade and cover to the beach area.
Also to mention a volleyball court with evening local groups playing the sport adjacent to the beach (in the beach area) for all the sports lovers.

One of the cleanest and nicest swimming beaches in Phuket.
After the Tsunami, this stretch of beach was carefully restored and now has a beautiful promenade and great landscaping.
There are only large hotels on most of the stretch of beach so there are less crowds except at both ends.
Plenty of parking and easy access from the North and South.
If coming in from the North of Phuket, you get your first glimpse of the Big Buddha at the start of this beach.

#Phuket Local Government and Administration take immediate action, do not repeat the disaster of Phi Phi.

Awesome beach with clear water. Sellers are really friendly and won’t be bothering you if you politely deny. The water sports are there but they are not disturbing at all. I’d especially point out that the yellow sun beds which cost 200 THB for two person have awesome staff that will be taking care of you for the whole day (adjusting the umbrella so that you have as much sun or shadow as you won’t, and they’ll be cleaning your bed from sand).

Really not a good beach except you like mass tourism, having almost no shade, and a lot of noise from the road.
Kata Night Market is an outdoor marketplace located in the southwestern corner of Phuket, near Karon. It offers a laidback vibe with trendy bars, cozy cafes, and beachfront resorts. The market features food stands, fruits, vegetables, seafood, and a bar serving cocktails. Unlike some other night markets in Phuket, Kata Night Market has tall ceilings and more space between vendors and visitors to combat the warm climate.
Nice market for shopping for knick knacks and clothes and home decoration stuff. It's got an extremely good food court too. Lots of restaurants around the market area. Very lively area and do bargain for everything the prices are really good.
The food court is highly recommended for food. Very cheap and extremely tasty.
The chef from one of the stalls is very friendly and comes out to help you choose and also let me taste the sauces he made for my fish dishes to see if it was spicy enough. The service was exemplary and went back here 3 times. Food is way better and cheaper than all the touristy restaurants on the main roads in Kata Karon areas

Food here especially the local Thai food was very good and reasonably priced. You can get the usual night market shopping but definitely very reasonably priced food which was very tasty. There were both locals and tourists eating. We had the mussels, squid, fried rice and tempura shrimp. The fried ice cream and Thai mango were probably one step too far but had to be done.

Some vendors are really expensive, especially the fruit ones! We bought a few different fruits and we spent almost 500B!
I recommend coconut ice-cream, and the BBQ/grilled section that has a good variety of fish and meat.

Should not vent just because one outlet turns out to be an unethical tourist trap. The food choices are great and varied.
The grubs, beetles and scorpion stall is always a crowd puller, but only for the 10 baht it costs to take a photo.
The common seating area is completely full all the time and it is just easier to do takeaway.
Jamshed Eruch Surti — Google review
A sweet little market.. You can eat relatively cheaply here, get cheap drinks and also get lots of (unnecessary) souvenirs :)
If you want to try something crazy, you can buy frogs or maggots on skewers. Otherwise, there is a lot of sea food and the usual Thai dishes.
However, the cleanliness of the tables leaves a lot to be desired.

Not too crowded for a night market. Has a lot of local thai street food, especially seafood. There is live music, so you can enjoy your meal while listening to them.

An experience to delight. If you are in Kata definitely stop in for a feed. We enjoyed a tasty seafood meal on our way back to the hotel after spending a good afternoon out dehydrating 😉. I thoroughly enjoyed the squid and it was nice to sit back and enjoy a few beers while eating in the market.

It's situated opposite the Otis hotel and little away from the marked location. The market mostly has food stalls and few cloth and beauty product shops. Many shops are still not open. There is one street ice cream vendor who freshly prepares ice cream rolls which I liked most.

Here you can feel real local atmosphere. In comparison with other places here is clean and food is also tasty. Very big choice of sea food, it’s a real paradise for seafood lovers. Alcohol cocktails are also good and a big choice of smoothies.

It’s used to be a buzzing place before COViD hits… now is a little quieter. Partly is the world is not travelling as much as before, Russia and China is still lock down which I believe there are many Russians and Chinese here before.
Some shops at the night market are open, restaurants are operating still.
So come and support Kata Night market

I don't know if this place was hot or not before, but I definitely wasn't when I went there in may/June 2023. The place was basically empty with only same shopping options. Only a couple restaurants selling stir fry and seafood and no street food vendors I would expect from a night market.
Don't bother coming, go to the walking street for a good night market experience which is just a walk down the street

👌 night market open till 4 AM. Numerous shops selling clothes, momentos, decorative items etc. Huge food court mainly selling delicious street food of good variety here. 1 lane is dedicated to bars only. Some of them with live singers 🎤 . Must visit if you are staying nearby. We stayed in Peach Hill Resort and it is at walking distance from here. 🥰🤩❤️

At Kata Night Market, I experienced a slight disappointment compared to other night markets in southern Thailand, as it felt more like a large tented restaurant than a traditional market. The food was acceptable, but it was a bit pricey by night market standards. The market initially seemed like one big restaurant, with staff from various stations taking orders and serving drinks interchangeably. This caused some confusion, especially when I was separately charged for a Roti dessert. The music was an unusual mix of Western pop hits and Russian songs, catering to what seemed like a predominantly Russian tourist crowd, which felt somewhat out of place for a Thai night market. Overall, it was pricier than most ‘real’ night markets I’ve visited in Thailand.

Couldn't come to Thailand without trying a traditional gym.

Very friendly, not the greatest English but neither were the big gyms.
Added to experience and they would show technique rather than just say.
Good quality training, technical help and knowledge from active fighting coaches

When I'm in Phuket, I always go to the Big White Buddha or the Karon Temple for my Blessings 🙌 🙏 It's so calming and beautiful ❤️
Karon Temple, also known as Wat Karon, is a serene and well-maintained temple located in Phuket. The temple features intricate engravings depicting scenes from Buddha's life on its doors and windows. The main building is encircled by two stunning turquoise naga serpents, creating a captivating sight against the backdrop of the mountains during the day and when lit up at night.
We have a night market on Tuesday and Friday and it closes @10 pm. You can buy good stuff from clothes to accessories and can enjoy Thai food.

Beautiful temple structure maintained very well.
Should visit it during the day to see it against the backdrop of the mountains and also at night to see how well lit the structure is.

Black Rock Viewpoint is a stunning spot in Phuket that offers a breathtaking panoramic view of Nai Harn Beach and the surrounding islands. While not as challenging to access as some other viewpoints, it does require some climbing. Located near Karon Viewpoint, it provides a higher vantage point with great views to the south. Despite potential obstacles like steep paths and wildlife, nature lovers and hikers will find this place worth visiting for its spectacular scenery.
Worth the ride and hike up. A motorbike can make it from the paved road to the entrance to the hike up. Do not park at the bottom of the hill, ride up about 2 km to the hiking entry point and park there. However, there are local trucks that will take you up for 100 baht if you don't have your own transportation. The hike itself is up a path about 150 meters long and it is a little steep but not difficult. The views are great and it's worth the trouble. The hike entry point is across the road from the 'Pa Hindum' rock in the photo.
Billy D Baker — Google review
I was choosing a foot trail to get there so it was lovely and interesting to see more things and details along the way The view of black rock is super beautiful and charming , a good spot to charge the energy.
Никита Шаваноский — Google review
Great viewpoint but don't park near the main road, the viewpoint is still 1.5km further away. The road is a bit messed up going up there but by bike or larger cars you will get through. If you walk it, bring water, not much shade on the way. Also have nice hiking trails in the jungle. Some, many of those trails can be done with a dirt bike as well.
DominiQC Asean — Google review
Came here by chance but glade we detoured. To get up, we drove our Nissan Sylphy to the spot where there is a sign to Nui Beach then we walked to the left then to the right for another 300 meter then there's a climb on the left for another 200 meter. So wearing sneakers might be best and not adviced for rainy season nor for elderly. But the view is worth it except there was a little Moscow Partying up there so we didn't stay long.

10 mins walk from start point. Not recommended if it raining. You can drive your car and once see the black rock view point stone sign and you can park your car there. The view up there is spectacular !

Beautiful view, me as a swiss guy it was nice but it's not something that you have to seen. The way is steep and bumby so wear sport shoes and it takes about 10-15 min. to the point from the stone. From the main street it takes about half an hour to walk and it possible.. don't get confused from the local (taxi)
The way to the point is on the left side from the stone a small way.

Definitely a highlight when visiting Phuket!
We took an adv bike upto the rock point then parked near the marked rock and walking up the pathway to the view point. Please be careful when taking the bike up as the terrain is abit steep and rocky. Kindly note it’s advisable to wear shoes as its a steep walk up. It takes about 15mins to walk up. We came back down before the sun set and it gets dark in the dense forest.
Its totally worth it once up you get a nice view of the area and islands close to it.

Rough road to this mountain but sedan car can go through. Walk to the top view about 200m. Not too hard, lots of big trees and beautiful nature. This spot is very nice for seeing a sunset and parachute. Happy to be here. Love it.

Great views. About 1.7km on the main road to get to the top hiking trail (x2 for round trip). Transfers available at the start of the road - 150THB roundtrip per person (and they took our 2 dogs too). WELL worth the price! Roads are steep and rough. The hiking trail at the top isn't long, but is steep, rocky, and could be slippery when wet - not too hard, but you just have to be careful and look out for snakes and centipedes. The trail entrance is just to the left of the big black rock that says Pa Hindum.
Alisa Oswalt — Google review
One of the most beautiful viewpoints we found on Phuket! You can either tackle the dirt track yourself or have someone drive you up (price was 200 Baht per person for both ways when we visited). We did the short drive up ourselves (scooter) , it's not too difficult if you're comfortable driving on a non-paved road. Once you get to the top, park your bike and walk into the jungle. There is a path leading to another viewpoint and a camping ground at the end of the road; the path to the Black Rock Viewpoint however leads into the jungle past a sign in Thai saying that the area is private property but passage is allowed. After about a 300m walk you're greeted with a stunning view of the Southern corner of Phuket. There were no other people during the 20 minutes we were there. All in all not much of a hassle to get there and absolutely worth visiting!

After reading many reviews, here I wanna share my neutral POV in terms of the ENTIRE hiking journey.
Overall, yes, it’s a great place to go if you are a Nature lover or Hiking lover.
We were attracted by the high scores with a must-go recommendation of hiking place in Phuket. Despite of keywords of “steep starts”, “barking dogs”, “bugs and snakes”, we still decided to go.
Part 1: uphill.
We walked in from a small entrance near the Nai Harn Lake side, there’s no eye-catching sign but I guess people can sense the way in. We almost gave up after attempted a wrong way from the beginning, with a couple of dogs barking fiercely, and non-stopped. The right entrance to the trace was actually right next to the private property with a yellow sign “Keep out”. We later realized maybe the dogs were trying to stop us from going to the totally wrong jungle.
The rest of the trace was pretty straightforward, but intermittently there were steep slopes which was “killing” me since I don’t consider myself a fit person. On top of that, it’s raining season in Phuket, so the road was a little bit muddy, plus lots of millipedes here and there.
We reached to the view point after around 1 hour. Undoubtedly, the view was stunning! After taking thousands of the photos, we realized it’s just 1/3 of our whole journey.
Part 2: downhill.
Our goal was to reach Cape Krathing, so we kept hiking to the west, where we ended up walking down the hill facing to the seaside. Thanks to the ropes which gave me some courage to keep walking…at that moment I dunno what had driven me into the adventure 🥹🥲… no regrets…bcoz there’s no other simpler way out!
After climbing over the rocks, and tall grasses, finally we reached the beach side of Baan Krathing Resort. My life is back!
Some tips:
1. As many ppl may have said, prepare for plenty of waters.
2. Suggest comfy long pants and long sleeve, Else…you may obtain countless bug bites (like me).
3. Go with friends who are hiking experts, so you won’t be panic or get lost in jungle.
4. Hiking shoes are highly suggested.

We came there by motobike (it was fine, we were riding slowly), last 200m is path throught the jungle, it is nice walk, its not so difficult and then you can enjoy perfect view
Nui Beach on the west coast of Koh Tao is a stunning, undeveloped sandy beach that's perfect for relaxing and enjoying the natural beauty of the island. It's a bit of a journey to get there, but it's worth it for those seeking peace and quiet away from the crowds on Koh Tao.
It’s a really beautiful beach with turquoise water. I had to pay 200 Baht to enter but they also have a lot of possibilities to take pictures such as swings so it kinda makes sense that you have to pay a bit of money- it’s not a lot tho and totally worth it. Also the coconut I drank/ate there was one of the best ones I’ve ever tried because it tasted incredibly fresh and the food was also very delicious! The way to the beach is also really pretty with a lot of palm trees

We took an ATV ride to go and see the view from Black Rock view from this operator (Hin Dam View Point). Our final stop was at Nui Beach and we had our lunch there. The lunch was simple and normal. The price for the lunch is on the high side. We enjoyed their activities such as “large swing” and snap several photos with their Instagram worthy views.
Strongly recommended for drinks and view. I would pass the food.

If you love other people looking at pictures of you, looking at the beach, then this is the place for you.
If a quiet little swimming beach with fish and calm water is more your thing, then this is also for you.
Can be a bit tricky to get to especially if you are holding small children (under 3) and all their associated stuff. The ride down can be a bit hairy.
Heaps to see and do.

when i arrived, i was informed that i had two choices - to walk 3km of dirt road to the beach or pay 300 baht for a return trip on the truck. i chose the latter because i wearing sandals and it was a REALLY bumpy ride. meaning everyone was HOLDING ON to anything to keep steady and two people’s backpacks fell off the truck on the way back. oh they give you a complimentary bottle of mineral water as well which is a nice touch i guess.
i enjoyed myself here, but i don’t think it’s worth the 300 baht. the waters are okay, not dirty but also not as clear as one might hope for. it’s also very small. like a third of the size of tanjong beach @ sentosa. there isn’t much to do but its quiet and nice for reading and just watching the waves crash if that’s your cup of tea. the saving grace was watching puppies play about in the sand. that was very cute.
not sure if i missed something but i don’t think there’s anything special here. phuket has no shortage of free beaches for you to enjoy.

Of all the beaches I have seen in Thailand, this might be number one. Need to pay 200
baht to be taxied 2.5km to it, through the jungle, well worth it. Great snorkeling, not many people and not over-developed. Calm, clear water, sand is a little pebbly, water is rocky in spots but sandy paths through it. Nice “pirate” bar in the shade for a drink - reasonable prices. Fun free big swing. Clean and well-maintained property. Amazing.

It’s a beautiful peaceful and dream beach. Come here to take amazing picture, to relax and to enjoy the food. The best beach seen in phuket in my 2 weeks trip. Just one and important negative thing to mention. They put on a leash a monkey so people can take pictures. This monkey can literally move no more then 2 meters for all day, for all life. I asked if she is ever free, they said no. This is sad, this is humans ruining the nature.

Phuket’s hidden treasure of a beach. Was not expecting to have to pay for a ride service to get to the beach area but it is worth it once we started to go down the slightly dangerous path. Amazing beach, there are many spits to relax and take pics, also few restaurants and snack bars. You need to pay fee 100 tbh, but it's very clean and offers shower and clean toilets.
It' s a good place to do snorking, and you can rent a sunbed and umbrella.

Hidden gem in Phuket, and I mean 'hidden' literally. You will have to earn the beauty of it by travelling through the difficult road which leads to Nui Beach. Transport and entrance fee costs total 300 bath/person. But it's totally worth it. You can hike 2km to reach the beach too, but i found taking the transport is better, because the road is risky. You will forget all the hassle when you enter the beach. It's a little paradise. The water is beautiful royal blue. And there are several insta worthy photo spot which is helpful if you are into taking beautiful snaps of yourself.

Not a place to miss, but not a must.
You should go downstairs only with their shuttle if you are not experienced with the motorcycle.
4 restaurants/bars down there.
Prices are over average, quality is normal.
Beautiful views
No sun beds, not much space to put towels on sand, not any shade on the beach.
The water is very deep in few meters and full of jellyfish and other stuff.

Compares to other beaches on the west coast, this one doesnt particularly stand out, aside from that you pay THB100 to look around and there are more empty bottles laying around. Its a nice beach though. Make sure if you want to swim you dont go later in the afternoon, because tue water gets pretty wild then. The drive down takes a steep, poorly maintained road, so bring a vehicle with plenty of power. For me a 160cc scooter was plenty to go up and down

A beach that you need to visit is beautiful and with different points to take spectacular photographs. It has different environments to take photos at different angles and very good ones. You must pay to enter and to have a bed, inside there is food and drink and restaurants, there is also a bathroom and Wi-Fi. it's worth paying. The only thing I didn't like is that they have a child tied with a very small rope. Having the child tied up is very bad. They should set him free. Don't forget that you must get to the beach point and from there you pay for the truck that takes you to the beach and you must leave your motorcycle or car parked upstairs. Then they will return it to you free of charge if you have previously paid for the trip to the beach.

Have been going to this beach for 8 years it's without doubt, my favorite place. Buuut they started to charge people to enter the beach and for shuffle buss. So 300 baht per person for entry and shuffle buss. Then sunbeds 200 baht each.

Karon Park is a vast and picturesque beach zone that offers visitors with minimal leisure amenities, coupled with occasional weekend food bazaars. The area boasts of an expansive shoreline characterized by stunning landscapes and breathtaking views. However, recreational facilities are limited in the park, making it a perfect destination for those looking to relax in nature's serene surroundings without too many distractions.
Much more quiet than Pathong Beach. Less crowds, and the sunsets are superb.

Beautiful beach and friendly atmosphere. We enjoyed our visit. Things you need to know:
1) lots of restaurants and places to eat or get a cold drink within 20 yards & not expensive
2) Beach chair & umbrella is 100baht per chair
3) there are designated concrete parking spaces in the area by lake but you can also park off the side of dirt road just watch for falling coconuts
4) there are publuc bathrooms and showers in a building available for 10baht per person
The beach was very clean and the water was clean & no debris. This is really long beach front so plenty of room to have space around you if you don't like crowds. I highly recommend this beach if you are looking for a beautiful view, relaxing time, & good swim. Enjoy! Sabai sabai

(Translated by Google) There is a pharmacy, 7-Eleven, a place that sells delicious fruit, and an ice cream shop.
The fruit shops in front of the building were really nice. We sell fruit cut into bite-size pieces in the refrigerator.
Thailand is a tropical fruit paradise with unforgettable tastes of mango and watermelon.
The pharmacy is open from 10 o'clock.
In Thailand, you can purchase medicine without a prescription.
The pharmacist speaks English, so you can purchase the medicine you need as long as you understand the language. Get help from an interpreter.
The 7-Eleven convenience store is quite large, so you can get the things you need, and it is similar to Korea, including simple emergency medicine.
There are 2 liters of bottled water for 14 baht, 1+1 for 20 baht.
Korean Ramen Buldak Shin, Kimchi Jjapa, etc. and soju are also available.

The statues, situated in Karon Circle, are a tribute to the heritage of local Thai people. They pay homage to fishermen, banana farmers and workers in the rubber plantations and tin mining.
Karon Circle is at the busy intersection of Patak and Wiset Road on the beach front.
The statues can be viewed from the pavements that line the roads. At night the base of the statues are lit up with coloured lights.

A place where you should had taking your picture as a proof u are at Karon...
The Big Buddha in Phuket is a 45-meter-tall marble statue located on Nakkerd Hills, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the island. Positioned between Chalong and Kuta Beach, this revered spot provides a 360-degree view of Phuket Town, Kata Bay, and Karon Bay. The grand statue is made from reinforced concrete and Burmese white jade marble atop a 25-meter base.
If you happen to be in PHUKET then Big Buddha visit is must. It's not about religion but about place to cherish for life. At this place the view of the city is just astounding. We were there on a sunny day and the entire city view was just mind-blowing. I would definitely recommend it to be part of you city tour. Place has a different charm and you feel calm with the entire surrounding. If you are spiritual (which I am not) then you would love to spend longer time at this place.
Enjoy your visit to Big Buddha and please share your experience....

This is a cool place with a great view! Annoyingly people fly drones around which spoils the atmosphere. But if you at sunset you can see it in the day and then lit up at night which is beautiful. There is nothing inside, but you can walk around and there are meditation spaces too. They have a dress code of shoulders, belly and knees covered so make sure you’re dressed appropriately. The views over the bay are wonderful too. I recommend spending about 15 min here.

LADIES, TAKE A SHAWL AND A LONG SKIRT OR TROUSERS TO YOUR ANKLES to cover all your skin.
Me and my brother hiked 3 hours to get to The Big Buddha. We managed to make it to the bottom of the hill until we had to call a taxi to take us to the top. The hill is very steep and would take a very long time to walk up. Alternatively, you can also take a quad bike up the hill as well. You also pass a tiger park on the way up which allows you to touch the tigers.
The view from the top of the mountain was gorgeous, but the clothing standards for women is very strict. LADIES, TAKE A SHAWL AND A LONG SKIRT OR TROUSERS TO YOUR ANKLES to cover all your skin. Otherwise they will make you buy a substitute. This clothing standard does not apply to men. You can get blessed by a monk and there are special places for people to sit and mediate. It was a centring experience despite there being many tourists.

Awesome place, deffo worth to give it a visit. The feeling the temple gives is super peaceful and I had great fun visiting it.
The climb up the stairs might have been a little uncomfortable, considering the weather conditions when I visited.
There was some real interesting and informing material all around the place, especially down in the temple. Also got blessed by a monk.

A serene experience. The view from the top is amazing and the giant statue makes you feel humbled and privileged to be here.
The drive to the top has some amazing scenery and let's you experience Thailand in all its beauty. We took a scooter to the top and that was great fun.
I really loved seeing the monks. That was awesome.

After a long hike (or a quick buggy/motorbike/car ride), which takes you along a windy uphill road, bringing you along cafes with incredible views, you arrive at the Big Buddha. Climb some more steps to get to the top - and you’re there. The statue is much bigger than expected and is fascinating to look at. There are several interesting signs that explain the history of it, provide background facts, more signs that tell you about Buddhism etc. So if you’re in for it, you can even learn something while you’re here. Descending again, you’re led through a prayer room where monks offer a sit down praying session for free. Outside, there’s also a 7-minute meditation session. Really enjoyed all of it. Views are incredible on a sunny and clear day.

The Big Buddha in Phuket is a breathtaking attraction that captivates with its majestic presence. The colossal statue, standing at 45 meters tall, offers stunning panoramic views of the island. A must-visit destination. However, be prepared for crowds during peak hours and watch out for monkeys 🐒that like to steal your wallet 😁

Very very beautiful temple. Lot to see.
I noticed that not many people don't know the dressing rules. But hope they learn.
You can fly your drone here, there are specific rules on the gate and green signs where you can set up your drone. Be careful and remember the fly time is 10-15 minutes. Do not fly near any Statue nor people. Enjoy!!
- Parking area might be full time to time so then it's very difficult to find car park. Motorbikes have designated area.

It's a nice place to look at scenery from but it's half-finished, probably due to COVID-19, so lots of rough edges. Quite literally in fact for the steps and pathways which are still rocky and jagged in places.
I think the sculptor didn't quite get the face of Buddha right though cos he has a quirky expression on his face that you won't find anywhere else in the world. Probably worth seeing just for that, I suppose.
Yi Jun Kwok — Google review
Get blessings from the monk, make donations, send blessing and requests… other than all the Buddhism goodness, it is quite cooling in shaded areas as it’s on a mountain top.
Although parts of the Big Buddha is still under restoration work, it’s the best time to donate and add a marble tile, I’ve made wishes in 2019 and life has been much better even during COViD period. Now I’m back for thanksgiving and to strengthen the faith. Though I’m non-Buddhist.
The viewpoint here of all the island … is amazing!!! Very nice for photo taking too!!!

We attended in low season and it was raining so we did not get the viewings but big Buddha is stunning and impressive nonetheless. It’s free to visit (I know some tours say access to big Buddha is included in their price which is cheeky of them).
The only thing that stops it being a five is the lack of information or history to read. We did not have a guide and they didn’t offer a guided tour on site. We googled in the hotel later.
Apparently there are “bad monkeys” here which still but we did not see any. Perhaps because it was raining.

Big Buddha Phuket is an absolute gem, especially at sunset - the sight is breathtaking! It's a serene and peaceful spot, ideal for spending quality time. Proper attire is a must, but ladies can rent appropriate dresses on-site. Surprisingly, there's no entry fee, making it accessible for all to enjoy this remarkable site.

Views were beautiful, the surroundings around Buddha wasn't perfect, many constructions, but it's fine.
Free entrance, free toilets.
A lot of monkeys around. Be aware of them, instantly snatch any food or drink you have.
Be aware of taxi mafia, we came up with inDrive (taxi app) for 200 baht, but couldn't find anything who would bring us back down (taxis can't come there, only the local ones), the ones at the place asks 800baht to get you to old town. 😂 we ended up going down the mountain 2km by foot thought forest.

This is a beautiful religious temple so please be respectful of the dress code before you come and enjoy this spiritual place. The views of the bay and surrounding area are spectacular. Please be aware of the monkeys as they are aggressive and will steal anything you are not holding on to. They are fun to watch.

Arriving at the Big Buddha on a bike was already a delightful experience for me. The winding road leading to the Buddha was incredibly scenic, surrounded by lush trees, and offered glimpses of monkeys and elephants available for rides at a fee offered by locals. There's ample parking near the Big Buddha. I rate the panoramic view of Phuket from the Big Buddha site as the highest highlight. The view is truly mesmerizing, providing a sweeping sight of almost the entire island. However, one downside is the evident need for some restoration in certain areas; many sculptures seem old and in need of care.

One place you definitely should not miss seeing, it was so peaceful and beautiful to see the Big Buddha and sit meditate for a bit. The chants playing in the background while walking around were soothing to your core. Am so glad we went with the family.
Only regret is our elderly parents could not witness what I did as they couldn’t climb up the many steps and no other facilities for them to get up there.

Our trip to the Big Buddha was stunning! The attraction was not just for Buddhists but a serene and breathtaking view, whether you were looking at the Buddha or away from it.
There were interesting quotes from well known persons and under the Big Buddha, there was a temple filled with various representations of Buddha.
It is a bit of a drive from Phuket, so best to engage the services of a dedicated driver.
Also dress conservatively otherwise the security will not all allow access.

It is a wonderful place to explore. You can get a view of the entire city from the top. I would recommend opting the ATV tour to the big Buddha temple where you can drive along with a captain who would assist you and get back. Overall it’s an hour trip. It’s get slightly crowded but since the place is wide spread you wouldn’t feel the congestion.

The Big Buddha is a must-see if you are visiting Phuket.
Even if you've seen other Buddhas around the world, this one offers amazing 360 views of the entire island and is stunning on a gorgeous day. There are picnic areas where you can bring your own food to enjoy the scenery. Please be respectful and avoid bringing alcohol.
There is no entrance fee. Because it's so touristy, it's not difficult to find a Grab to get you to your next destination.

Beautiful and calming place. We went up in the morning and it was very warm. We had a blessing from the monks. I enjoyed it very much. Then sat and ate an icecream while looking down on the monkeys playing in the trees. I took a set of clothes to cover while there ad you have to cover knees and shoulders. You can buy it up there but if your taking a bag then I suggest being prepared.

We had a wonderful experience visiting the Giant Buddha during our stay. We appreciated that it was a free activity. We bought a small marble and wrote a note to donate. Seeing the Buddha up close was breathtaking, allowing us to appreciate its size. Unfortunately, the sky wasn't clear when we visited, and it was boiling. However, the most remarkable part of our experience was meeting the monkeys!

The scenery below is spectacular. The huge gray-white Buddha statue is dazzlingly majestic. This is a place where you can enjoy truly beautiful scenery. It almost feels like flying. We rode up on our scooters. You can see elephants on the way up and there is also a nice cafe. When you arrive at the entrance, there is a parking lot and a place to sell souvenirs. I bought a hat at a good price here.

The visit to big Buddha was easy and fast. We had a car so need to anyone. The driving is easy and short. Lots of people just admiring the site and views than the Buddha. It looks unfinished, lots of construction material around, the views are better from a lower point of the hill. All the same items sold everywhere you find it here. Maybe in 100 years time it would be more meaningful.
Nelson Castellanos — Google review
Must see place with beautiful views. No entrance fee- they should introduce one. We enjoyed our visit. Some irresponsible behaviour from visitor speaking Russian, who gave coke to the wild monkey just to have a laugh and take a video, disregarding sign not to feed the monkeys.
Urszula Jedrol — Google review
Free visit, all they ask is you respect their religion by covering from shoulders to knee's or just above. And now hats... not a big price to pay. You can climb to the top and walk around the big Buddha. And there's a few other small events also going on. One guy was doing 7 minutes of meditation, and there's a monk downstairs blessing people. Unfortunately, this costs, and there's no sign telling you so. Religion seems to come at a price with him. But for most of the location it is a wonderful visit with a couple of small shops where you can get refreshments and souvenirs. Oh, and there are wild monkeys. Don't wind them up, or tease them with food, because they will take it from you. And by whatever means necessary.
Bazar Karon is a bustling market where haggling is the name of the game. Vendors collaborate to assess tourists' bargaining skills, using colored bags to signal who's likely to pay more. While prices are decent, better deals can be found on the surrounding streets. The market offers a variety of items at good prices and is known for its 500g bags of coffee for 250 baht.
You have to try the ide cream rolls here 🤩🤩

The market, like all the centers in the area, is full of delicious fruit and chic in every possible flavor, good bars to burn an hour having fun. Except for a restaurant located at the entrance to the buzzer right on the road with the worst service, dishes swimming in oil, my dish did not arrive at all even after almost 40 minutes, we left the place and went to eat somewhere else much better.... It is important to note that the score represents the restaurant only! And not what's around him.
שמעון ביבס — Google review
Good without being spectacular. Prices are ok but you can get better bargains out on the street. Location is good, a little bit off the main shopping strip. Good restaurants nearby though. Worth a visit. Not big so don't need to spend a long time there.
Chris Dimo — Google review
You must never take the first offer on any item always bargain on the price. The shops work together and rate each tourist on their bargaining ability by giving different coloured bags. This makes it easier for the next shop to spot a quick money opportunity and a gullible tourist
Christa Nel — Google review
While staying near-by at a hotel, we often came to this area to eat as the food was cheaper than going in to town or at our hotel. This area is quite touristy, with the beach located just across the road. The Thai people are competitively priced with their food and merchandise for the area. Check around for prices to ensure you are not being told higher and see what others are offering. Remember that most the vendors sell the same things, so it is best to ask multiple what the price is and then haggle as they may quote you much higher at some places compared to others. The Thai people are a bit pushy for sales in this area due to the culture and nature of this tourist area.
