This park is just amazing! Many beautiful 100 years+ old trees will surprise you. There’s a small Lake which is also beautiful, have some children play area and has boating facility. The park has many many levels of steps to go down and cherish the beauty throughout the garden. Must Appreciate the horticulture team who is best in maintaining it. Best place for nature lovers who would like to see different types of trees which can be rarely seen only in botanical gardens. Also they have installed water vending machine & it feels satisfying to drink the water after the good long walk in the park.

Sims Garden, the trees were lovely and few flowering plants. If you like huge trees this is the place for you. Magnificent extremely beautiful and big trees well maintained, plenty of toilets. There is sandwich and food place just outside the garden for a quick bite. Pay Parking available outside the garden. Entry fee ticket counter is at the entrance. They asked us for covid certificate details, don't know why, but allowed rest of us to go without certificate also. Not recommended for senior citizens as you have to climb a lot of stairs. Takes about 1.5 hours to finish. Slides and play area available for kids. But was a bit crowded.

its good, they show you the whole process of making tea from leaves in their factory and in the end you get a free sample of tea. You also get an option to buy tea in multiple varieties at their store. Look for the hoarding explaining the process at every step.

It was OK, there is nothing much to explore here, you will not get any guide to explain what is going on,how the tea leaves processed and which is what kind of tea,nothing..
Its just a walk see processing machines and chocolate processing machine, get some chocolates and shop for tea/chocolate and oils..
Entry fee was 20 INR per and tou will get tea which was disgusting and chocolate which is like 2 Rupees chocolate..

It is located at about 12 kms. from Coonoor bus stand. It is a unique rock of tremendous proportions, jutting out of the face of hill side in the formation of Dolphin's Nose. The view here is extremely grand. Left and right are great ravines, on one side is seen an excellent view of the magnificent St. Catherine’s Falls with their stream continuing several thousand metres below, while on the other, the familiar Coonoor stream meets the stream from Kotagiri. They together contribute to the great Bhavani river. A must visit place.

The route to this is full of picturesque views, it is located in coonoor. The whistling train passing through dark tunnels with tea plantations on the side. Unforgettable experience. Highfield Tea Factory in Coonoor offers a captivating experience for visitors interested in the tea-making process. The lush green tea gardens provide a picturesque backdrop as you witness the plucking of tea leaves and learn about the various stages of tea production. Additionally, the factory houses a small museum that delves into the history and significance of tea in the region.
When we went there for a visit, the tea facility /factory was closed. But we liked the walk through the tea garden.
There was a gentleman who explained everything about it. We next visited the Eucalyptus oil factory, amazing to see how this is done. Then was the chocolate factory. We did purchase some oil and some great tea and chocolates.
You should pay a visit when in Coonoor.

A must visit place when in Coonoor. The process of how the tea leaves are processed through multiple steps and machines before it is finally in a consumable state is a very good learning experience, though the guide speaks at a super sonic speed to explain the full process while viewing the machines.
The tea estates look beautiful, you can get into them and do the photography.

Highfield Tea Factory or Highfield estate is one of the must visited tourist destination in Coonor. It has a tea processing unit, nilgiri oil extraction unit and a chocolate factory which you can have a tour with a guide free of cost.
A perfect scenic surroundings to take photos with the nature. A professional photographer is also present there to take some professional photographs with the attire of tea makers.
The shops located there claim to sell the products from the estate itself but you need to check the price outside, the quality of the tea that we purchased from there was not too good, it was below my expectation as I was thinking I would get some original tea. Nilgiri oil was fine and chocolates are normal you can get the same product outside at the same or lower price, no need to add to your luggage by purchasing it from there. I would say everything was expensive check and buy.

Interesting experience. A private guide will bring you to the factory, tea plantation, oil room, chocolate room and shop. The tea plantation is very beautiful, however the factory was not operational at the point of visit and looks pretty rundown. The oil shed is extremely rundown but it was interesting to learn how tea leaves oil are produced. The chocolate room is also very tiny but we got to try different kind of chocolates, including white, liquid and mango chocolate. Overall an enriching experience!
Tip: You have to drive/walk down the hill from Resort and supermarket in order to get to the tea factory and shop.

SCAM ALERT !!
DO NOT BUY TEA / OIL FROM THE HIFIELD SHOP.
We were approached by a gentleman who was wearing a HIFIELD I'd card and offered to give a free tour of chocolate making, eucalyptus oil processing unit and tea factory.
We tasted the chocolate in the chocolate shop which is just above the main shop. The chocolates were really good (especially the mango chocolates).
Then we visited eucalyptus oil unit where were given 100% pure oil to check and experience how it feels when we put it on our arms, forehead, and nose. I was blown away. Within 2-3 min I could feel it's effect on me. I felt very fresh and my tiredness just vanished.
Finally we visited the tea factory where we saw how different kinds of tea are made.
The overall experience of the tour was very good. But here comes the other part of the story.
We visited the main shop where we tasted different flavoured tea (which was really good) and decided to buy oil, chocolate and masala tea. Before buying the guide demonstrated a small act by putting oil on a cloth and setting it on fire. (The oil was poured from a bottle which was already opened). Again we could inhale the fumes which were very refreshing.
Finally I was convinced and bought the stuff. Unfortunately after coming home when I checked none of the products were of the same quality which were shown to us during the tour. Especially the eucalyptus oil. It was very disappointing to realise that we were scammed.

We booked the tea tasting experience and had a fantastic time. As relative tea novices it was great to have a complete masterclass in tea tasting, but also in understand the production of tea too.
Sandeep was fantastic host and showed us around the estate and delivered our tasting session. Some of the teas we tried were available for purchase which we duly did - there was absolutely no expectation or pressure to purchase however.

1. Bit of a joke, I found the entire experience to be absolutely school boy experience worth maybe 200 bucks
2. For 1500 a pop, one expects a little bit more, not of the stories and manufacturing tea processes- but the actual tea
3. Should atleast have given small give aways with various Teas that one can later taste and reorder
4. Should have offered better prices than his website when buying directly from the source
This feedback is provided so the person running this experience should give better bang for the buck to the customers.

Sandeep was our guide for both the tour and the tasting. I can't recommend him enough. He's incredibly knowledgeable, clearly passionate about tea, and welcomes all questions.
He walked us through the history of tea, showed us through the grounds, and then set up a tasting.
The tasting experience was so fun. We tried 6 different teas and with the additional knowledge/context he shared earlier, the experience resonated so much more deeply.

About the Tea Tasting experience:
It takes place in the Tea Garden's owner's private residence. Google maps will get you there no problem at all (though there's some doubt going up the driveway that you're in the right place because it's not commercial at all!)
The atmosphere of the house and location are fantastic.
The host, Sandeep, is very friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate.
He told us about different types of teas, how the plants are exactly used, methods of preparation etc.
Then we tasted a range of teas; at the end of course there is opportunity to buy them to take home for yourself (I am happy to say it did not feel like upselling!)
I learnt a lot, and it was a generally very pleasant. Recommended for couples and groups of adults. I doubt kids or teenagers would have a good time.
As a foreigner it was great value for money. For Indian locals, I don't think I can advise about value for money.

We stayed at clubhouse by Tranquilitea, it is located close to the market, Rajan cooks excellent food ( he buys groceries basis your menu) and his wife manages the housekeeping. The host of the property Sandeep curated some amazing local and offbeat experiences for us such as the tea tasting ( rated among the top 7 tea tastings in the world), walk to Toda village etc and he went out of his way to ensure we had the most memorable stay in Coonoor. This is one trip that will stay with us always.

Amazing experience at Tranquilitea. Mr. Sandeep was an excellent host and made us understand the little things about tea. The tea-tasting experience was wonderful. Would love to come back again someday.
Tiger Hill Cemetery, located in Coonoor, was established in 1905 due to the limited burial space at All Saints Church. Surrounded by tea plantations, this cemetery has a mystical reputation and attracts thrill-seeking tourists and filmmakers. The broken statue of a mourning angel adds to the eerie atmosphere of this remote location amidst mist-covered hills.
Went on Sunday and it was closed so could not go inside and visit. However it should be one of the top places to be visited in Coonoor. The location is very peaceful and scenic. There is tea gardens beside the cemetery so that is also one of the spot that can be visited.

The cementry remains closed. However the place offers beautiful views of the surrounding tea estate and the valley.

A 19th century graveyard.
Beautiful landscape is there surrounded by tea plantation, such a calm and peaceful place.

It was closed when we visited. The roads were narrow. Very secluded place. Looked haunted as no one was there. If we go little bit ahead, we can see beautiful mountains and tea estates.

A quiet and isolated place. The gates remain closed every time now & then. So you will not be able to go inside. Not recommended at all for people travelling by car. The approaching road is very narrow and not properly maintained. Surrounded by a private tea garden. It will be better if properly maintained.

I have visited this cemetery recently. It is really a spine chilling experience . Whoever going to the cemetery please keep in mind that it’s not a sightseeing place . Not a family friendly or kids friendly area . So do not expect the place to be like a well maintained tourist spot . Please give respect to the place 🙏🏽 Be very careful don’t go alone , I have seen some footprints and droppings of bear. And there are chance of other wild animals also . And felt like there are socially unacceptable activities are happening in that place . Do not expect that gate will be open , it is closed for ever . It’s not a public place . Keep in mind that We are all trespassers . So behave accordingly, don’t spoil the beauty of that place with plastics of other substances. Thank you 🙏🏽 Respect the beautiful souls sleeping there 🙏🏽

Beautiful and Very Calm Place
With burial space at All Saints’ Church fast running out towards the end of the 19th century, it was decided that Coonoor should have its own Christian cemetery to supplement those at Kotagiri and Ooty. Surrounded by tea plantations, the new Tiger Hill Cemetery was opened in 1905.
With its remote location amidst mist-covered hills, Tiger Hill has developed a mystical reputation and has become a destination for thrill-seeking tourists and film-makers. Unfortunately, it has also drawn in undesirables who have deliberately or unintentionally damaged the headstones, and its lush grassy areas have been equally attractive to huge lumbering gaur (Indian Bison), and even to elephants, which have wreaked even greater destruction. It is hoped that the new, higher, reinforced perimeter wall, to which BACSA have contributed support, will provide new protection for the foreseeable future.
Within the cemetery there are about 500 British graves. Planters and their families predominate and there are military and government workers, as well as many connected with the railways. The Nilgiri Mountain Railway, now recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage site, and its Coonoor Station, were built soon after Tiger Hill opened; they are a draw to tourists from far and wide.

This cemetery is a 2 km walk from Bedford Circle in Coonoor. The location is secluded, so it might be a nice place to drive or ride to. I saw some guys hanging around near the cemetery when I visited.
I think the major attraction has to be the viewpoint which is around 200 meters from the cemetery gate. Unless you're one of those morbid people who like hanging around gravestones. The cemetery dates back to the colonial period and creates an eerie ambiance.
The viewpoint gives you a glimpse of Mettupalayam below. Clouds were passing by the hill when I visited and gradually covered everything in white. I think the hills parallel to Tiger Hill are in Huligal and Burliar, so Pakkasuran Peak and Droog Fort must be somewhere there.
The location is easy to reach so I think it's worth checking out.

This place is really beautiful, a must visit. There are lot of leeches so be careful of that. Many movies have been filmed here. Very photogenic place surrounded by tea estates. It is well maintained as well. Though it stays closed most of the time. If your lucky you can go inside and experience it.
C.S.I All Saints' Church in Coonoor is a stunning example of colonial architecture, boasting a Gothic-style layout and elegant stained glass windows. Built with British assistance in the 19th century, this Anglican church exudes historical significance. The interior is adorned with intricate wooden carvings that are over 160 years old, creating a serene and holy atmosphere for visitors.
Beautiful church, loving people. Must visit and attend Sunday service. Good music, Pipe Organ, nice choir

The ambience ,the worship, the serenity is unique. In an era of loud noisy jarring music and dance ASC stands apart as a very quiet place to praise and pray

This church is a monument standing and telling the story of the past, while living in its glory.
Placed at the pristine location with absolute clean air and the mist to cool off there's little which comes close to this.

Heard a lot about this hidden gem. Followed Google map and reached to a point, after that it was confusing. Lost the road and went inside some Village. One uncle helped us to reach the point. It's at the 3rd hair pin bend from the concrete road.
At last reached at this place. We met 2 uncles at this point, no one else was there. Bit scary.
But to enjoy the views, we went to the bridge.
Beautiful views. Very calm and serene.
While leaving, we saw few more tourists. So if your are in group, u can definitely spend hours. It's awesome. Roads to reach this point goes from Wellington army area, it's very nice.

but reaching to the top is little bit adventurous. we have take any offroad vehicles to reach the destination & also have to trek for 15mins. don't forget to take water with you, there is no shops.

We were towards the end of the family trip and wanted to go to this place, first of all droog fort is not available for tourists, it is a private property now. Secondly there was this guard on the diversion road who had stopped us and was asking for an entrance fee of 200 rs. When we asked for a receipt he said you will get inside. then we called an official ( number was available on the direction board ), when we spoke to him he confirmed there are no entrance fees he is asking for donation money for flag day which was a day before that too just 50 bucks. We have no problem in giving donations or anything it's just he was tricking us to get the money. When we were asking for any receipt or anything he was continuously telling us to give money here and you will get it somewhere inside. Just an alert for any tourists who do not want to get their time and mind wasted

One of the best spots to view the entire strech of road from Coonoor to Mettupalayam ! The road is super scenic to reach the place ! Beware of the Bisons native to the forest ! We were surrounded by about 15 bisons but luckily we were able to make it out safe but it’s way to risky to go in small groups !

Laws Falls, named after Colonel Law, is a stunning waterfall nestled amidst lush greenery in Tamil Nadu. Cascading down from a height of about 180 feet, the falls create a picturesque water pool at its base. Located approximately 7 kilometers from Coonoor, this serene spot offers visitors a tranquil ambiance and an ideal setting for picnics or a refreshing dip in the cool waters.
Laws Falls in Coonoor is a charming gem tucked along the route from Mettupalayam to Ooty. As you journey towards Ooty, this petite yet picturesque waterfall graces the right side of the road. The cascading water gracefully flows, traversing under the road to the opposite side, creating a captivating sight from both perspectives. The falls, surrounded by lush greenery, offer a tranquil ambiance that complements the natural beauty of the region.
However, it's crucial to note that venturing into the water is neither permissible nor advisable, emphasizing the need for responsible tourism. The road near Laws Falls tends to witness heavy traffic, demanding caution when crossing and enjoying the scenic views. Visitors are urged to exercise diligence for their safety and the well-being of others.

A visit to Laws Falls promises a brief yet delightful encounter with the soothing sounds of falling water and the lush greenery that characterizes the landscape, making it a worthwhile stop on the journey from Mettupalayam to Ooty.

You can sit n enjoy the beauty around. But again noisy area bcz of narrow road, bridge, turn. No need to go special to see fall. It’s better to add in your ‘en route’ list. It takes only 2-4 mints to look around.
My wife and I went on Countryside tour and strawberry picking with our guide, Rizwan.
The path to the mountain viewpoint was an experience by itself with several trees and other viewpoints on the way. The path was low risk and did not require advanced equipment. The barbeque and food at The Realm was excellent, felt like home.
Strawberry picking is a great bonding activity, highly recommended for couples. The farm also has very beautiful flowers that can be purchased.
Overall the experience was beyond our expectation. We thank our guide Rizwan for the experiences, especially for giving us sufficient time at each spot.

We opted for the country side tour, hoping to see some remote villages, farms etc. But we were surprised to see much more than what we expected. Never knew Coonoor had such roads and locations that were never visited by general public. Lived the lonely roads, picturesque locations, tribal village, forest drive, BBQ lunch, water stream, fruit and floral farms. Thanks to our guide and host Rizwan for engaging our group the entire day. He ensured that everyone in our group including kids to senior citizens were satisfied

Riaz a MSc Zoology post graduate now working on his PhD took me around Coonoor on a EcoWalk 👍 He pointed out and described the various birds we saw, flowers and plants we walked by, also identified the paw marks of a leopard, dung of Bears, Nilgiri Bison, Wild Boars and Deers. We did encounter a few magnificent Indian Bisons/Gaurs which is pretty common here.
It was a pleasure doing my first Monkey Trails tour with a knowledgeable guide, thank you.🙏

Then he took us for a barbecue and a short trek which included some delicious homemade food at The Realm. The entire curated tour was for 5 hours and totally worth it. He made sure we were comfortable and having fun. The tour is kid friendly, we spotted monkeys, petted horses, saw ducks quacking loud, and saw some bisons in the tea gardens. If you are in love with the red, juicy fruit called strawberry 🍓 and would love to have it as fresh as it can be, this is the right space to experience it in Cunnoor.
Monkey trails has strawberry farms that have plenty of strawberries to pick during the harvest season. They are also planning to start with blueberry picking soon.
Mr. Riyaz was our guide during this activity and shared lot of information and facts around growing strawberries.
To reach the strawberry patch we crossed a farmstay that had 2 horses and duck and chickens welcoming us.
The farmstay is a small cottage with bedrooms and living and dining area that can be rented out for short stays.
The experience ended with a freshly prepared strawberry tea.
One of the fun activity for kids and adults to try out in Cunnoor.

We met Selvam Anna there, he was very kind to show us another view point nearby. He also took some nice pictures of us. On our way back we had delicious lemon tea at the resort! All together it was a great Sunday and Rizvan gave us surprise instax pictures at the end!! We would go again to explore another area with Rizvan. :)
