Nang Yuan Island, also known as Koh Nang Yuan, is a beautiful and picturesque island in Koh Tao that boasts a sandy beach and is popular for snorkeling and diving. The island is covered in lush foliage, with aquamarine waters and white sands that create a vibrant atmosphere. Visitors can hike to the top of the hill for panoramic views of this heavenly piece of land.
How to get to Koh Nang Yuan Viewpoint
The viewpoint on Koh Nang Yuan offers one of the most famous and photographed panoramas in Thailand.
Featured on postcards all over the world, it’s well worth taking the time to pay a visit and to try snorkeling and hike up to the viewpoint.

That is the one beautiful Island in the world, top 5 in Thailand, here include 3 small islands near each other. After ebb tide during 11:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. you will see sand road, walking path of each island. This is amazing!

250baht fee entry, you are not allowed to go in with fins, also all corals are dead. There is just some small fishes and thats it.

Highly highly highly recommend this place for people to enjoy snorkeling without any diving or swimming knowledge. White sands, clear water with beautiful fishes and crabs in sight. It’s a short boat ride from Koh Tao to Koh Nang Yuan. You need to pay small entrance fee and no food or plastic is allowed. Island closes at 5, so be sure to go there early morning to spend the whole day. You can rent snorkeling equipment from there and enjoy. There are also hiking paths and places to view the islands from above.

( these photo were taken on April 7th) ⭐️⭐️I recommend you to book a trip to the island in advance so you can have a tour guide. (and in the ferry you have complimentary stay in vip room ) The island tour includes a buffet lunch. Some of the spots I took were from the private zones of the tour. the tour start It's very early in the morning so there aren't many people yet. Recommend you to come after Songkran in Thailand onwards. because during Songkran there will be a lot of people 💥 If you want privacy Let's come Monday to Friday. small island but bright water It's very hot during the day. You can rent diving equipment from the water shop. But there is also a deposit (~1000baht)

Fantastic island, beautiful. There are so many ways to get to it. Different packages from scober diving to just hiring one the small boats a total of 1250 Bhat return, there was five of us so potentially, try and hangle the price down if there are less of you.
BE WARNED THERE IS A ISLAND TAX OF 250 BHAT PER person that nobody tells you about until you get there.
Great beaches, sunshine, and clear water, perfect for snokling.
Don't forget your bug spray!

This is a beautiful island to visit, there isn’t much choice on where to buy any snacks whilst visiting. And no plastic is allowed to enter island, any plastic bottles are taken away when entering and paying the entrance fee. If you head up to the view point be prepared for a little queue on the final section. (The hike is not a long walk so a little wait is ok for a quick picture).

Incredible island. Entrance is not cheap but what’s the point to go to Koh Tao without visiting Nang Yuan island. Go early morning to avoid tons of tourists.

One of the most beautiful islands of Thailand , this can be reached by a boat ride from koh samui. There are options of some hotel if you want to spend a night. But yes, that night would be damn right in the lap of nature with only sounds of the waves. Can also be reached for a day trip. Definitely a must visit if you are in koh samui. Little hiking is required to reach the viewpoint but once you reach the view is mind blowing.

Nang Yuan Island is one of the top things to visit in Koh Tao and there is a reason for that. This uniquely shaped island is extremely beautiful and focuses on being a green island as well. You can for example not bring any plastic bottles on the island.
The hike to the viewpoint is steep, with lots of mosquitoes, but the view is 100% worth it.

I’ve never seen such an incredible and beautiful place !!! Everything is out of this world. WOW wow wow. This is heaven
Dreaming about coming back 🥰

Viewpoint is worth the climb and wait, just be prepared to queue and do not forget mosquito repellent. Would advise bringing your own/hired snorkels with you as they are expensive on the island compared to on koh tao. Beautifully clear waters

My 1-day tour here was simply awesome! The ocean was so clear, it brought me pure happiness. Snorkeling in the clean waters allowed me to see vibrant fishes and amazing creatures. It's a must-visit spot for an unforgettable experience.

Yes it’s beautiful island, the shape of the island, the color of the water, view from the hill etc
But the island is packed with tourists and corals are mostly dead. It felt like a graveyard of corals. There are so many better islands for snorkeling. So I won’t recommend the snorkeling tour. Was bit of a joke…

beautiful island with awesome corals!
snorkeling there is a beautiful experience!
lots of fishes!!
Go with Golden Moon Travel agency!!
awesome tour package and staff!! highly recommend them for their passion and experience!
Ao Tanot Bay, located on the east side of Koh Tao in Thailand, is a scenic and uncrowded beach that offers excellent snorkeling opportunities and boasts a great restaurant. This beach has pristine golden sands that contrast beautifully with varying shades of blue sea water. It is easily accessible by road and offers superb facilities for swimming, sunbathing, or relaxing to the sound of waves.
The best back in Koh Tao snorkeling amazing saw loads of different fish and clams. Scary getting down there bit like a black run!! Amazing granite rocks!!!

Lovely beach for relaxing and snorkeling (there are couple of shops in which you can rent snorkeling gear).
There also nice restaurant nearby.

Great snorkelling place!
There is a whole reef, an insane number of fishes, almost more than on some diving sites of the island 😅
You can climb on top of the big rock (beware of the sharp shells) and jump from the top (7m approx I’d say).
Easy to access with a scooter with a parking space before the beach, and no fee for setting foot on the beach!! Rare enough to be mentioned here.
The beach is quite big, so you can have your own space.
Ptitsuisse — Google review
Beautiful beach, great for snorkelling. There’s also a big rock for jumping into the sea too. Some nice restaurants around, also they do snorkel hire.
Cecily Reeves-Jones — Google review
Very nice beach, with small pebbles and sand, but once you go in the water it's mostly coral and rocks, so beware of your feet! Don't go if you're planning on playing in the water. It is great for snorkeling and looking at fishes though.

Snorkelling heaven! Pro tip- do not rent a bicycle to get here, we spent 500 baht on a taxi that took us and the bikes back! It is very hilly. The beach is lovely and not over crowded. There are places to eat and shaded areas. Well maintained.

Stunning beach with clear waters ! You need to walk a bit after you leave the scooter but it is worth it. Also ideal for snorkeling. Get masks for 50 Bath ( 1000 deposit) at the massage place next to the mountain reef resort. Also you can climb on the rock in the bay with the rope and jump from it! The beach is really quite and perfect to relax

AU tanote: highly recommend, many fishes near the beach, perfect for snorkelling. Not so good for the beach, isn't sandy or flat. In fact sand is a it grainy and rough.

Solid beach. No sunbeds.
Great for snorkeling.
PLEASE people: Don't stand or destroy the corals! Save the nature! 🏞

This is a great beach, one of the best in Koh Tao and its free to use. It's brilliant for swimming and particularly snorkelling. There's coral reef and an amazing array of fish, some of which will swim right next to you. There's a rock formation about 100 metres out from the shore and more proficient swimmers can easily swim around it for some amazing sights. Its quite deep, about 25 metres, but if your snorkelling its well worth the effort. There's a few bars and restaurants right on the beach and toilet facilities. Its relatively easy to get to if hiring a motorcycle, if your walking there you'll need to be quite fit as the terrain is very steep and hilly.
The John-Suwan Viewpoint in Koh Tao is a must-visit spot that provides breathtaking panoramic views of Chalok Baan Kao and Thian Og Bays. Surrounded by lush jungle and boulders, the rigorous uphill trail to reach this observation point rewards visitors with stunning scenery of Koh Tao's southern tip. The location offers excellent photography opportunities for photographers from all over the world due to its exceptionally good vantage point.
Great adventurous!! 50 baht each to go in. Wear good shoes because we need to use robe sometime. It took 15-20 mins to go up there! Amazing view! When you come down check out freedom beach! Beautiful fish and creatures at the beach! You can snorkeling by renting 50 baht from the bar and rent kayak 100 baht.
O Toptip — Google review
This place is worth the challenging climb up on the stones! Amazing view, unbeatable! You can also sit and chill on some stone for a while, so relaxing and beautiful! Wear proper shoes, please! You can make it with flip flops too, but it will be double more challenging :) There is 50 batt entrance fee to the Freedom beach and this viewpoint included.
Nina Marinova — Google review
It is a beautiful place to see the sunrise. :) I love the viewpoint. You can listen to the sounds of nature and have a widened view over the sea.
You have to climb a little bit through the jungle, but it is easy to manage, also for non experienced people. After a 20 minute walk you are at the top and can enjoy the view. Take a good headlamp with you to see everything if you walk in the dark!
I would also recommend to wear good shoes so that you don’t get hurt🥾
I. C. — Google review
Good place if you like climbing stairs then rocks to find a view. Try not to go at the same time as everyone else from your boat as it gets very crowded. Last set of rocks is quite challenging and there is no path so don't bring small children or luggage. Also make sure you have sprayed insect repellent on yourself.
Personally I think my time would've been better spent staying on the beach and snorkelling for longer! But that's just personal choice.
If you like this review, please give it a thumbs up

Beautiful viewpoint of the island where you can see two different bays, a perfect place to see the sun setting. The entrance is 50 bahts, which includes the entrance to freedom beach, a beach chair, and access to the viewpoint. The way up is a bit more tricky than you might expect, and it would help to have closed shoes. Also, might be better to come before sunset to catch a seat as it is quite crowded at sunset.
Itamar Rahav — Google review
Interesting hike which leads to a beautiful viewpoint. I recommend wearing shoes as the path can be steep and slippy, which also requires holding onto a rope for certain sections. It can be done in flipflops but is pretty uncomfortable when going back down.
You need to pay 50thb entrance fee per person but you have access to multiple beaches and the viewpoint.
We went to freedom beach which was beautiful, had some great coral and even saw one trigger fish, a small sea turtle and a huge sea turtle.
Michael Worth — Google review
There is a 50 baht entrance fee to access the area, and it's important to note that the climb can be quite treacherous, especially during rainy weather. However, they have ropes in place to assist you in ascending safely. Once you reach the top, you'll be rewarded with an amazing view. This little adventure offers a unique and exciting experience, making it worthwhile for those seeking stunning vistas and a sense of accomplishment.

Went by bike until reached the parking and ticket booth. The fee is 50 baht which includes parking. The way to the viewpoint was a little bit difficult but I could make it even in slippers. The view is amazing, it better to go in the morning around 9. There are not much people this time.
Maxim K — Google review
Amazing view. We got there quite early to see the sunrise, and were very happy with the decision. We payed 50 TBH each to get access, well worth the price. Bring your snorkeling gear, and the entry fee will also cover access to a couple of nice beaches.
The walk was done in maybe 15 minutes or so. However, the terrain is some times a bit steep, and you can use a rope to help yourself get up more easily. You can see an example in the attached video (at the very end).
Audun Kvitland Røstad — Google review
Beautiful view point. The climb is a bit rough but easily doable if you're somewhat in shape.
The entrance fee is 50 THB per person, and you can also visit freedom beach (included).
If you're close by, I definitely recommend coming here!

Really good viewpoint. Just a 20min walk so not too hard. You have to pay 50 baht enterance fee but it counts also for freedom beach. Well worth the visit.

Absolutely stunning view at the top, and also on the way. Hiking was quite steep, and required a minor climbing with provided rope along the way.
I'd recommend to put on a sneaker or hiking shoes, take some water with you, and also make sure to put on sunscreen as well.
There's an entrance free 50THB, where you get the access to John-Suwan Viewpoint, and Freedom Beach.

You can’t imagine how much is beautiful in here. The way to go up there not really difficult. The perfect time to go there around 16:30 -17:30 to see. And you have to pay for entrance 50฿ per person 1.45$

John-Suwan Viewpoint is a slice of heaven on earth! The panoramic vistas of nature's beauty are awe-inspiring. We marveled at the lush forests and crystal-clear waters below. Super nice place and a nice view. You have to pay a small entry fee (50 Baht) but it’s totally worth it!
The way up is a bit challenging and you have to climb a bit. But it’s totally possible and not that difficult. The entry fee is also for freedom beach and the area around so you can go everywhere.

Definitely don't wear flipflops!!
Fun climb up, and a spectacular view. Took about 15 min but we were slow and I broke my flip flop, but well worth it.
The accent can be achieved in 10 min if your good at rock climbing. There are ropes to hold onto going up the big rocks and boulders, but definitely doable. The going down was the hardest so definitely take the appropriate footwear.

Short hike but with a little climbing. Totally worth it. The view at the top is breathtaking. 😊 please make sure to take your trash or empty water bottles with you and not leave them on the top! ♻️

Great view on the end of the climb. The 50baht that are requested per people are justified.
I highly recommend to do it with sport shoes to simplify the climbing.
Morning visit is recommended following temperature & sun exposition on the climbing way.

Cost 100baht to visit, and worth it all, do not miss this spot, it's a rough climb. Bring proper shoes!
Astonishing view! The one you see on the pictures back home 😄

Stunning place to view the sunset. Some quick research should prepare people for the 100 baht pp fee to visit the viewpoint and freedom beach, so I’m not sure why it is a surprise for them.
It’s disappointing that you have to pay to visit nature, but if it helps reduce overcrowding then I’m in support of it, I think the fee is worth it for the view.
You ascend some rocks with the help of ropes, it would be difficult for someone who isn’t very fit or mobile, but generally it is fine. It’s a 15 minute walk/climb from where you pay, and there’s plenty of space to park scooters.
I’m giving it 4 stars because at the top and at some points along the path there was trash, plastic bottles etc. You would think the fee would go towards maintenance of the path, but unfortunately not. Take your trash away with you!
Josh Sebastian — Google review
Unreal views from this viewpoint! A very hard climb, would definitely recommend wearing trainers. On arrival do not go to the first viewpoint if you are looking for the John-Suwan as this is a different viewpoint only a minute away and can be easily mistaken (It is also a very nice viewpoint with an easy climb).
Mia Jarman — Google review
Great viewpoint, well worth the short hike up.
Not a straight forward hike, you do kind of have to climb little bits but not difficult. They have put a rope leading to the top which helps.
The views from the top are beautiful and make the 50 baht entrance fee worth it, must not be missed if on the island
Isaac Davy-Day — Google review
A very challenging walk to the top, I wouldn’t recommend if you’re not wearing proper footwear (trainers, etc). There are quite a few steep and slippy areas with rope to help you get up and down. The viewpoint itself is a small area where people stand on rocks, which can accommodate no more than 10 people. This means that if the viewpoint is even slightly busy it’s very hard to get a picture and can feel unsafe at the top. Even so the views are amazing, if you can make the journey to the top then do it.
Tom Hunt — Google review
Completely worth the little hike and the entrance fee, the views even before the viewpoint are stunning with all kinds of blues and greens! The top is perfect for a snack and some pictures, then to the beaches and enjoy the rest of the day!
The long and sandy beach of Sairee Beach is a popular spot on Koh Tao, with plenty of places to buy food and drinks, as well as sun loungers and parasols. The beach is also a great place for swimming, snorkelling, and windsurfing.

In essence, Sairee Beach is a harmonious blend of natural beauty, cultural vibrancy, and recreational opportunities, ensuring an unforgettable experience for all who venture to its shores.

Koh Tao main beach, not the most beautiful or the best to swim but still a beautiful scenery to enjoy a long sunset walk on the beach or just chill with a fresh drink in one of the many bars you can find. If people say this is the best beach of the island is because they haven’t been to others for sure, the sand on the sea it looked like mud and the water levels are so low that the water will go to your knees and even if you walk further still. The water is not clean and you can’t swim properly. A lot of restaurants and bars around and right in the centre of Koh Tao. You need to come very early in the morning to get the water levels alright.

The most popular beach in Koh Tao as it is where most of the hotels are located as well. It is a really long beach with gorgeous blue water.

The best beach on the island! The water is crystal clear, in the morning is deep and in the evening goes all the way in. Beautiful white sand, long, plenty of bars and restaurants and in the evening is also very lively. Perfect for sunset watching, for spending all day under some palm tree. Most popular beach in koh tao.. visit during sunset for the best experience!
Sai Nuan Beach in Koh Tao is a small and peaceful stretch of sand that offers unmatched beauty, making it an ideal destination for honeymooners or those seeking solitude. While lacking in exciting activities, the beach's seclusion provides the perfect opportunity for a relaxing day. Although located near Mae Haad's main pier area, its inaccessibility by road has kept crowds to a minimum, preserving the charm of Koh Tao's early discovery days.
Our favorite place to be, the family of the restaurant made Green Spirit as well (really worth your visit). We went here almost everyday, Banana an Neila are super nice dogs! Food is really good and snorkeling is nice.
Bless these amazing people!

This beach doesnt look like the photos from a while back. Currently its not very pretty. The resort that lays on this beach looks abandoned. There is no mantainance on the beach, water from the hills kind of destroyed most of the sand. It was dirty in some parts.
The water had low visibility and lot of waves but it was very windy that day, so it might be better.
There is a sign on the entrance that they collect a fee to enter, but no one was there to charge.
I mean if you want a deserted place, you might like it. But in our case, considering how hard it was for us to reach it (we walked 30 minutes on a very steep road from viewpoint resort), we didnt enjoy it. Feel free to post an update if this situation changes. We wouldnt had gone if we saw it like this in google maps.
There is a way north following the pink things hanging that is very jungle like and pretty, that leads to janson bay and back to the road to the pier.

Soft sand beach as the name suggests, very quiet and low key. In the water, visibility is not the best due to the soft sand but some large fish can be spotted around the rocks. I've seen the biggest black tip reef shark around the island here, huge coral groupers, barramundis and a couple of gigantic titan triggerfish. Swimming along the rocky shoreline can be very rewarding.

It's a nice place now that tourism is still restricted. I don't know if it would be though if it was at its normal level because one of the best things about Sai Nuan is that it was almost desert. It's peaceful and that's the best of this beach.

Nice little beach but after we had been in the sea a Thai came over and demanded 100 baht from each of us. We said we were not aware you had to pay to use the beach and we’re going to leave now anyway. He demanded again and stood by us the whole time while we put our clothes in and packed our bags. I am glad we had been planning on leaving at that point anyway as it would have felt impossible to stay without paying - he was going to argue and he wasn’t happy when we said we would not pay. At least on another beach where they try to illegitimately charge you they say straight away so you know the score and can decide whether to stay or walk through.

Very small beach and just as lovely. I visited it in Feb 2023 and it looked a bit run down at the time. There are 2 restaurants/bars by the beach.
Baan Talay is a modest resort that boasts picturesque views of the Gulf. It offers rustic bungalows and an on-site restaurant, along with a private area of beach. Although there is only one room in a particular style, guests can enjoy comfortable outdoor seating and hammocks in the beautiful outdoor area. However, the walk to the nearby beach is quite challenging due to many stairs, and it's not much of a beach anyway.
Enjoyed our stay here. Staff are friendly, the food was good and the views of the bay are fantastic. We loved our room, but I think there's only one that style. The outdoor area was awesome with comfortable chairs and a hammock. Only downside is that the walk to the beach is a very long walk down stairs. It's like a mini trek. Also, the nearby beach isn't really a beach. Despite that, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place. There are plenty of nice beaches within a short drive.

The perfect retreat for total escape and tranquility in stunning nature ❤ We stayed here on two separate occasions in two different bungalows, both of which were just beautiful. Imagine waking up in the morning and taking an open air shower with the full view of nature. The most beautiful bathroom in the world 🌎 The bungalows are beautifully designed with total respect for nature. The resort has been carefully designed with thought and in every corner you discover such intricate details which have been made with love in mind ❤ The views are to die for, the restaurant has the most amazing food that is of super high quality and the activities in the resort are original and engaging. The private beach has the best snorkeling spot on the whole island and if you get the chance I wholly recommend joining the ice bath therapy, it's an amazing experience 🙏 Thanks to Devrim and his beautiful family for sharing their love and home with us ❤

Amazing stay. Poonya and her team are on top of it all. The breakfast spread is incredible, the snorkeling was among the best we did on the island, the rooms and clean with stunning views and service generally was top class. Highly recommend for a relaxing stay minutes from the bustle of Koh Tao.

Pros: The location of the hotel is absolutely stunning. The decor is quite pleasant and the view from our room & the restaurant was incredible and well-priced. (Not all rooms have a great view). The grotto style shower was also impressive. The snorkelling at the landing was teeming with fish, more so than most of the areas we went to on an off-resort snorkelling tour. In all honesty, you could save money by snorkelling only there & still get quite an experience. The resort was also very quiet which we enjoyed as my partner and I both don't party/drink. The staff was also extra accommodating when you asked for something & they serve both traditional Thai food & western "new-age"-type cuisine.
Cons: The resort is on a rather steep hill which required us to walk up a long sharp incline for about 5-10 minutes every time we wanted something to eat or to visit the water. Some of the staff, though very friendly & attentive, also seemed a bit clueless & overworked at times. The price of the free-diving was also off-putting as there were off-resort prices that were considerable cheaper & the bed in our room was fairly firm. The yoga/workshops can also be unexpectedly closed for a group leaving you simply "out of luck". You don't get yoga that day. It can be also be a bit of a journey into town & they are also openly growing marijuana near some of the rooms, up to you on if this bothers you or not. None of these issues would prevent us from going back because we are quiet folk but they are worth keeping in mind because they may be hard for others to tolerate.
Overall 4/5 stars

- The Hatha yoga class was very good
👎
- Didn’t clean the room for 2 days and even forgot to clean after we told them on the 3rd day. Quite inattentive 😕
- The bed almost fell apart…
- Charged everything (e.g. extra coffee at breakfast)

Had a generally good stay. The place is beautiful and nicely decorated in the forest. Walking down the hill to a wonderful snorkeling location. I came during low season so there were no activities at the place such as yoga or diving. It is located outside of anything so renting a mobile is recommended.
The rooms are beautiful with the best view ( bungalows) and clean. The outdoor private bathroom and shower are amazing.
Unfortunately the first room I was given smelled badly of mold. I told this to the staff and they gave me a different room. The second room was much better but still smelled slightly of mold. I hope they fix this issue because it is the only negative comment.
I generally recommend this place and would be interested to visit when activities are available.

A mountaintop cafe recommended by a diving instructor friend who works locally. They are also hotels. Food prices are not cheap. The taste is okay too. This breakfast bowl is a little sweet for myself . Other nice scenery at the top of the mountain is nice view. 890 baht for 3 drinks and 3 breakfasts.
Toast breakfast is 200 baht. 2 smooth breakfast bowls are 180 baht each. I remember that 2 smooth drinks cost 100 baht each. Coffee usually doesn't cost more than 100 baht.

Hi team,
Justin and I recently had the pleasure of staying at your accommodation. I am writing to express our deepest gratitude for the outstanding care and support we received during a challenging health scare during our time at Baan Talay.
Our stay began as a dreamy escape to Thailand, a foreign country that promised exotic landscapes and cultural experiences. Little did we know that our journey would take an unexpected turn when Chrystal faced a severe reaction to the cookies we purchased in Koh Tao Town. The professionalism, compassion, and swift action displayed by your staff during this ordeal were nothing short of extraordinary.
From the moment we reached out for assistance, your team demonstrated an unparalleled commitment to our wellbeing. Not only did you promptly arrange transportation to the hospital, but you also accompanied us, providing invaluable support and comfort during a difficult time in an unfamiliar environment. Their dedication to our welfare was truly commendable and made all the difference in our experience.
Once at the hospital, the care and attention continued. Your staff liaised with medical professionals, ensuring that we received the best possible treatment. Their presence was a source of reassurance, and we felt like we had a support system far away from home. In a foreign land, such genuine care and concern made an indelible impact on our hearts.
The serene atmosphere, coupled with the picturesque surroundings, provided us with the perfect environment for recovery and reflection. The attention to detail in the accommodations, the breathtaking views, and the overall ambiance made our stay not only comfortable but also incredibly rejuvenating.
Beyond the physical beauty of the accommodation, it was the kindness and genuine concern of your staff that set our experience apart. Their unwavering commitment to hospitality and the well-being of their guests is truly commendable. It's rare to find such a perfect blend of luxury and heartfelt care, and for that, we are forever grateful.
In the midst of adversity, we discovered the true essence of hospitality at your establishment. We want to extend our sincerest appreciation to each member of your team who played a role in making our stay exceptional. Your compassion turned what could have been a nightmare into a story of hope, resilience, and the beauty of human connection.
We wholeheartedly recommend your accommodation to anyone seeking not only a beautiful and luxurious retreat but also a place where genuine care and compassion are at the forefront of the guest experience. Our heartfelt thanks go out to each staff member who contributed to turning a challenging situation into a testament to the remarkable spirit of your establishment.
With warm regards and deepest gratitude,
Justin and Chrystal

Beautiful and quiet spot. Came during holidays and was staying in the tent, which was spacious enough then got moved to sea view hut. The views are priceless. Staff members are very friendly and very supportive. Their program thruout the week is very flexible. Im not a morning person but I still can go enjoy and participate in afternoon and evening schedules. Great place to relax and get to know your body better. Defo gonna come back!

💙 Bluetiful view over Aow Leuk and Shark Island. A perfect place to come and chill out and eat great food. Awesome selection of tasty and healthy options. Helpful and lovely staff really makes it a sweet place to be. A hidden gem 💎 highly recommend 🐢

The resort is right on a very steep cliff. Rooms are small but have beautiful views as they’re right by at the top , tents are comfy with their private toilets, right at the bottom. So there’s a lot of stairs in between.
There’s no beach from the resort, so you’ll have to swim or drive around to get to the sand which is a disadvantage but you can snorkel off the pier straight into the water.
Food is nice and fresh and staff is friendly.
Good place to stay if you have transport to move around.
Hin Wong Diving Spot is a must-visit location in Koh Tao for nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers. Situated on the east coast of the island, this bay surrounded by hills boasts stunning views of turquoise waters and large boulders. The area has a rich marine life, making it perfect for snorkeling and diving with colorful aquatic creatures. Despite its rocky terrain, visitors can still enjoy the beauty of this spot's nature artistry while exploring the underwater world.
Fantastic snorkeling spots. On our around the island tour, this spot is the best one. Most clear, abundant fish and some coral.

This review is for Hin Wong Bay with is where this is apparently, but it is well worth the trip over to Koh Tao and check out Hin Wong Bay pretty beautiful spot on the island, you definitely need a moped and know how to drive one very steep hills.

Nice small beach, calm sea and great for snorkeling. I liked the rock formations and different levels of depths while snorkeling. Most beaches on Koh Tao are kinda shallow. There's also a bar for drinks and a restaurant with decent food.

Good snorkelling, saw lots of coral and small sharks.

Ignore other commentaries. If you want to see sharks just by diving, this is your bay. I saw 3 in a row here. Just go swimming to the right side of the bay and you'll see them near that small "beach" if you stay for a while. Despite of that, best snorkel of ko Tao is here.

Island Muay Thai is a unique tourist attraction on the island of Koh Tao which offers training in the traditional Thai sport of boxing. Despite its name, the gym provides not only Muay Thai but also general fitness classes for beginners and seasoned athletes alike. Established in 2002, Island Muay Thai hosts night fights that are both intriguing and exciting to watch. Witnessing a session at this gym can lead to an adrenaline rush within just a few minutes.
My husband and I decided to do a beginner Muay Thai lesson while visiting Koh Tao and couldn't recommend Island Muay Thai more highly.
This was our first time doing a lesson like this and Surin was an excellent teacher. We enjoyed learning the basics and definitely had an excellent workout. Would highly recommend this gym for beginners and seasoned athletes alike!

I loved to train in the place - nice atmosphere and personal approach. 90min group trainings are just enough, especially that the number of participants is 5-10 people for 3-trainers. The competitions and shows they are making are very well organized and quite impressive.

Had my first ever Muay Thai class this morning. Mind was a great instructor and built up the moves slowly, it was the perfect pace for a beginner. Everyone was very friendly. I would definitely come again to join this Muay Thai session, kap khun ka!!!

Best Muay Thai classes on the island!
Extremely talented trainers (basic English but no problem) that understand that it’s your first time learning a new martial art. They start from the basics and then tailor your individual training to match your strength and how quickly you pick up new sequences! They push you hard and make you sweat but make you feel proud of your hard work.
They have package deals, private and group classes. We left feeling full of confidence and part of a great community
Thank you Surin & Jim 🙌👏

Mango View Point (Sairee Beach View Point, Mango Bay Viewpoint))
For photography enthusiasts visiting Koh Tao, Mango Viewpoint (also known as Sairee Beach View Point) presents the perfect opportunity to capture some exceptional natural vistas. To get there, one can hike up a scenic trail for an adventure-filled experience or rent a motorbike for convenience. The viewpoint is located in the northern part of Koh Tao and offers breathtaking views of the sunset, making it an ideal spot for those who enjoy reading while basking in nature's beauty.
We didn’t want to moped up the extremely steep and bendy track, so we parked on the main road and decided to walk 40 minutes. It was worth every minute and the 100bht price pp entry fee. We got a bottle of water with that entry fee and the view was incredible. The lady working the bar was super kind. The person next to us had food and that looked yum. Glad we didn’t moped up as some of the road was in terrible condition and frankly dangerous. If your moped brakes failed it’d be a horrific journey down.

Nice viewpoint and great view over the island. You have to pay 100 Bahnt but you also get a drink for that. We got offered free bananas as well.
Julia Wimmer — Google review
One of the view point in Koh Tao that offers an overall view to the beach.
It’s beautiful but not really special. There’s a rest stop for you to sit and enjoy the view.
100B will include 1 soft drink, sightseeing fee, and toilet :)

Amazing place! The view is stunning and the family working there is very welcoming. Well worth the 100 bahts. I decided to walk to get there but you can get there by scooter.

Very difficult easy place to reach , but once you there it’s amazing spot in koh Tao ., and yes you have to support local people for the entry fee 100 thb take your time there rest and enjoy the view !!
Boonsong Boonyachot — Google review
I think people get mad about this place because you have to pay. But it’s literally private land. So don’t come if you don’t want to pay the 100 baht.
I personally think the view is epic here. Once of the best view points for sure. Quite a comfortable place. You can bring your own food and drink if you want.
Tom James — Google review
The only thing great here is the view. And that is the main thing for what you want to come here. But its 100 Baht and the seats are not really comfy. The Staff (or family living here) where very noisy and watching TV Shows out load. You can get here by Bike (Google Maps don't show it, but there were a woman at the crossing who said it is possible. Parking Spaces are good
Lukas — Google review
This view point is a private property. The family that lives there manages it and you have to pay 100 batt entrance fee which can get you one water or coffee, the rest is paid. They have variety of food, fresh fruits and drinks you can order. The family is very friendly and they tried to make the place as comfortable as possible. There is nice terrace- sitting area.
Nina Marinova — Google review
Amazing view! You'll pay 100 Baht to enter, but you'll get a free drink (water or some kind of iced tea). The people up there are super friendly and make your experience as nice as possible.
I don't recommend to drive all the way up there with a scooter, the road is steep and overall not the best. Bring sturdier shoes than flipflops.
Julia H — Google review
100 bath entrance for go to the bar. You get a bottle of water then…
The view point is really nice and the place is cool, I didn’t see any finish around, the thai who run the bar are really friendly…
I feel really the good vibes over there, with nice view point and a swing at the entrance so cool!
Adeline Bernard — Google review
The Bar is open again, the owners do renovate the place right now, they allow you to bring your own food&drinks at the moment (Feb 2022), because you pay the 100 Baht entry fee and they have no food and only few drinks to offer. I think you can expect a normal food & drink menu in the end of 2022.
In my opinion the entry fee is worth it, kee in mind you support the small business here.
The view is one of the best for sunsets with the fact you don’t need to hike up. I recommend park at Jim‘s Bar, but you can also drive the dirt road all the way with the scooter, just be careful and make sure your breaks working for the way down.
On the way up there will be one dirt road part, it doesn’t last long and it‘s okay to drive with motorbike. After that part another concrete road starts at the lower View Point which is also worth checking out. This concrete road is leading until the mentioned Jim‘s Bar. From there it‘s a 5-10 min easy walk.
Sai Daeng Resort is a picturesque beachfront retreat located on the southeastern coast of Koh Tao. The resort boasts well-designed, tropical loft-style bungalows that blend seamlessly with the surrounding nature, providing guests with privacy and tranquility. With various accommodation options such as pool villas, Sai Daeng Resort is an ideal vacation spot for couples or groups up to 10 people.
Lovely quiet hotel with good facilities. Perfect for a quiet stay. Has two amazing quiet beach’s which are perfect for snorkeling. Hotel provided an airport shuttle which was really useful and the food the hotel was fine. We stayed for a week and enjoyed it but you need a bike to get around as there is nothing within walking distance and there are lots of hills to the hotel.

It is a big and good resort with very friendly staff. The door and windows are made of wood so bring your earplugs if you are a light sleeper. There are many steep stairs to the beach so if you are not really fit, be aware of that. The beach is good for snorkeling as well as the bay. The restaurant could be improved for the money you pay for the food. But all in all very good!

Loved our stay here, good for people who want to get away from the busier areas. Great views, nice beach with great snorkelling opportunities.
Would recommend renting a bike to get to and from the hotel and the rest of the island, which is accessible in about a 15 min journey.
Breakfast is good but other food could be a bit better, so we didn’t eat there too many times for lunch/dinner. Still rating 5/5 for the excellent staff/service (shout out to Lim who was so lovely), location & general experience of staying here!
Would definitely visit again, we loved Koh Tao and our stay at Sai Daeng.

Incredible location. Views are super, especially from the higher rooms on the peninsula. But, be prepared for stairs. It’s worth it. Rooms are very nice; with comfy beds and big bath and shower. Breakfast is very good. Nice pool. Beach is small but lovely. Snorkeling is very good; best on the rocky side. Service, check in/out, housekeeping and such are all great. A bit of wear and tear with beach and deck furniture, but nothing significant. It’s a fine reward for the trip to Ko Tau.

Sai Daeng Resort exceeded all our expectations with its exceptional service, making us feel completely at ease with personalized care and quick responses to our every need. The resort's stunning pool, which overlooks the crystal-clear waters of Koh Tao, was the ideal place to relax and enjoy some cocktails. The private beach was perfect for snorkeling or just a leisurely walk with your loved ones. From our room balcony, we were treated to breathtaking panoramic views of lush greenery and the beautiful sea. The room was comfortable and spacious, complete with all the amenities. We can't rate this place highly enough and would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting Koh Tao.

We spent six days at the resort in early March and we loved our experience. Our plan was to go diving and this location was perfect as there is a dive shop right next door.
The rooms are nice and spacious, employees are kind and helpful and the food was delicious. The beach while small, is an AMAZING place to snorkel if you don’t dive. We saw tons of colorful fishes and small sharks (!). We also made the most of the hotel happy hour at the pool and the beach.
In terms of location, it’s definitely more remote than some other resorts so you’ll need to use the hotel shuttle or be a very experienced driver.
The transfer experience was also seamless.

It's a lovely little retreat. If your not great at motor bike it's hard to leave. Very steep to get to. Taxi is reasonable to get back to Main area. Free kayak and you can kayak to Shark Bay and Shark Island. Best snorkeling of the island on the North side of resort. Highly suggest this place but don't expect much night life.

Very nice resort with a great access to go snorkeling. Especially the staff is very friendly and as a guest you feel comfortable. You need to rent a motobike to go somewhere but for 300 Baht/day it’s easy. I had a room with a balcony where you could hear the neighbors a bit but the location was great. Next time I probably would book a single bungalow. Also the food was delicious. I totally can recommend this place and would come back.

We had the most amazing stay at Sai Daeng, we have no idea how anyone could ever have anything negative to say about the place- it’s just perfect! The pictures online are a true representation of how beautiful this resort is.
The staff all went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The hotel is in the most fantastic location, isolated from other properties but still within reach of restaurants, shops etc using the shuttle provided. The restaurant on site is also fantastic- the service was exceptional, price was very good and location unbeatable!
Yes, the resort is hilly, but this adds to the character of the place, and the views you get from it would not be there if this wasn’t the case. Staff are on hand to help with bags at the beginning and end of the stay, and they do so with a smile always. Arriving at the port in Koh Tao is somewhat chaotic, but once you arrive at the resort it couldn't be any further from that- it’s idyllic and peaceful.
The villas had such wonderful views and had all the amenities we needed. Snorkelling is fantastic from the resort- there are 2 beaches, one is sandy and one is rocky, for snorkelling only. We saw sharks, sting rays, turtles, amazing coral, brightly coloured fish…all from the resort itself without needing to go anywhere!
Thank you so much for such a perfect stay.

We spent 7 nights here in February 2024 for my brother's wedding and I've done nothing but rave about the experience since I've been home. The staff were incredibly accommodating, from carrying luggage up or down the stairs to our room to making sure my son (2.5 years old) never ran out of milk and smoothies. Our rooms were beautiful and directly on the beach which was especially helpful to my mom who has difficulty going up and down stairs frequently. And the spa!! Incredibly beautiful and relaxing. I would have gone back everyday for a facial if I had the time. Will recommend time and time again to anyone planning a trip to Thailand.

I spent 4 nights there and loved it, we had a great time with a large group of friends. I think this would also be great for a romantic holiday as well.
It takes a little longer to get to, but once you arrive and look around you can see it was worth it. It quiet, away from the buzz of the rest of the island, with its own beach and all the amenities you need.
It’s got a very decent gym, its own day spa (I had a lovely Thai style massage) and a pool complete with bar.
It really felt like we’d escaped reality, in the best way possible.

They have an excellent snorkeling spot 🤿. I encountered a massive turtle 🐢 and numerous baby sharks 🦈.
However, the room requires some renovations. We had to deal with a considerable number of 🐜 ants on the bed every night, even after changing rooms.
Fortunately, we were moved to a more spacious room with a breathtaking view.
Unfortunately, the breakfast left much to be desired, as it lacked flavor. I regretted paying for it.
Additionally, the location is quite remote, so it's essential to have a skilled scooter 🛵 driver.

The spa in the resort was amazing too, we treated ourselves to a 2h facial + oil massage treatment, it was heavenly! There's a pool and pool bar which was lovely. My wife and I went here for our honeymoon and had the most wonderful time.
Perched on the end of a little peninsula, this resort offers the best of it all. Clean beautiful rooms, a beach bar and restaurant that blends into the beach, amazing food and staff and to top it all off, some of the best snorkeling on the island.
During the day you will see baby sharks swimming up and down the beach in the shallow clear blue water.
We will definitely be coming back.

What an extraordinary place! I simply cannot describe the natural beauty of Koh Tao and the well-designed comfort and easy living of Sai Daeng Resort. The cottages are striking in their style and simplicity and comfortable as can be. Someone knew what they were doing when they designed the cottages, as well as the Restaurant and pool and entrance. Walking through the resort is a joy and an intimate interaction with nature at every step. But of course people are what is most important and Sai Daeng goes overboard in choosing and hiring the best people. Universally kind and upbeat and helpful whenever they are needed. I cannot more highly recommend this resort! We will go back and bring Family and Friends!

Wow!! The first thing you will think when you arrive at the resort. I was lucky enough to experience the private villa with friends, staying in my own garden facing room. The villa had its own infinity pool with a gorgeous sunset view. Bed was super comfortable and a nice retreat from the heat with the air conditioning working super well to cool the room. The main pool is the highlight though. With a swim up pool bar and cocktails made by the incredible staff! If you want to find the best place to stay on Koh Tao, here it is!
Jansom Bay is a scenic bay located on the south-west of Koh Tao island, which offers a beautiful sandy beach and crystal-clear shallow waters. The area is perfect for swimming, snorkeling and reef diving, with hotels and snack shacks available to make your stay comfortable. The bay can be easily accessed via a 15-minute walk from Mae Haad Beach along the coast over rocks.
Magic island for snorkeling. But choose your hotel carefully as some places are very noisy. Do not hesitate to choose remote hotels and rent a scooter. It is the best thing to do if you like to rest and relax far away from the noise and the lights of the world.

Beautiful beach with a very few people. We paid 100thb for the entrance and walked down through an abandoned resort. If you want to get a sun bed you paid additional 100 bath. Bring the towels with you and just lay on the sand.

Nice bay and beach, good snorkeling... 200 baht fee is a bit high but take full advantage of the fact that Sai Nuan Beach is also included. Walk the beautiful shaded concrete path along the ocean for about 10-15 mins and it will take you to an even better beach. Odds are, you will have it to yourself! Best snorkeling is near the rocks at both bays... some unique reef fish to be found.

Abandoned bay, good for snorkeling and laying in the sand. You pay 100 baht entry fee and can walk through the abandoned resort to the beach. You can also continue and walk to two other beaches. On Janson bay there is 3-4 sun beds you can use for an extra charge of another 100 baht. We were treated with fresh coconuts the locals collected freshly from the palm trees and handed to us few guest in the beach for free. So cool!

My favourite beach in the whole of Koh Tao (and potentially the whole of Thailand). The relaxed vibe here is incredible, small walk to get there but manageable, fantastic snorkelling and sunset also not too busy. Felt like a small slice of paradise. There is also a goat who likes to come by, some call it ‘Babushka’. There’s also a great bar on the beach which is part of the resort being built to open later in the year and the guy who runs it is so incredibly lovely, he’s got a ton of interesting stories to tell and was so welcoming. Ended up spending the whole day here and wouldn’t have left if I’d not had a ferry to catch that evening. Can’t wait to come back, this place has taken a bit of my heart :)

It was insane that they charge 100 for the entry and want to charge another 100 for each Sun Bed. This over greedy thinking and behavior should never be encouraged or accepted here. Because other beaches either free or charge less and the scenery up and down the water is greater than here.
So god bless me to display my review to everyone before they go.

I regret not bringing food with us, as I can easily stay here the whole day. Such a nice place to relax and enjoy the beach. We payed 100 baht for entrance but it is more than worth it. We have to understand that the resort is forsaken and it do makes sense that the local thai needs to look after the place. It was a good day for us going here inspite the cloudy and windy weather.

Chalok Baan Kao Bay, the third largest beach in Koh Tao, is a serene shoreline fringed with coconut palms and various open-air eateries and bars. It presents diverse activities for individuals of all ages and interests making it a preferred destination for beach enthusiasts, culture aficionados, and families seeking quality time in Thailand.
It's a heaven for surfers. Quite, nice and another hidden gem.

Cute tiny beach, nice for a sunset swim.
The water is extremely shallow, I swam until 300 or 400m away from the beach and couldn’t reach a point where I would be deeper than waist-height.
Narrow patch of sand in front of restaurants and resorts where you can put your stuff.
The beach is for free, and you can access very easily on foot, or, I guess, with a scooter.

beautiful and small beach located south of Koh Tao, very quiet with some restaurants. the water is not clear like the main beach but its tranquility is worth it.

Nice beach, quite narrow in places. Its advantage is certainly the lack of crowds. There is a free entry in multiple points. There are many bars and restaurants around.

I stayed in sairee beach area for my first week on stunning koh tao..and on my scooter travela around all the islands bays and beaches in week one decided on an extra week in the more chilled south of the island
Less traffic, less commercial, less is more sometimes..e en though sairee has its quiet zones and chill spots its nice to experience different partsof koh tao . Highly recomend for calm but a few buzzt places nearby so not exactly remote and close by.to freedom beach and shark bay. Fancied a few extra days without needing a scooter and away from the action in sairee

Stunning bay with lots of excellent restaurants and accommodation with dive resorts. Away from the vet noisy busy side of the island but festive enough for a lot of variety.

Cute beach day with shallow waters. The beach has very easy access, clean waters and various cafes and beach bars around it. The water is quite shallow and there are not lot of fish so it is not recommended for snorkelling but it is a very cool place to relax and enjoy sunbathing

Great walkable beach but be careful of sharp items in the water. It’s quite shallow for about a half a mile out. It’s extremely calm, peaceful and underpopulated. A great option if you are in the area. This is free!

The pictures don't do this place justice. One of the best beaches I'm Thailand! Not somewhere we planned to go but stopped along our way to another beach. Incredible.

A quiet place to relax and enjoy the beach!!!
Beautiful view for sunrise.
Shallow bay and have good spots for snorkeling: Freedom beach and In front of View Point Resort.
Also nice restaurants and bars nearby. <3

A nice and more quiet beach that is pretty enjoyable. Not many people and unfortunately also not many services here but the scenery is of the most beautiful and you can enjoy the chilling time here pretty by yourself. At low tide sadly it is impossible to swim. Smaller but less crowded than Sairee beach.
Ao Laem Thian is a secluded location that can only be reached by hiking or taking a taxiboat. It boasts stunning snorkeling opportunities for experienced swimmers, with natural swim-throughs created by volcanic rock formations. The trail leading to the bay from Sairee is a 45-minute trek through untouched flora and fauna under the canopy of dense jungle.
We will rebuit in this two year time

Fresh 1.5h hike through the jungle. The path was pretty clear and not that difficult. At the end stands abandoned resort with super nice beach. Can also go with dirt bike in case you are lazy azz.
Jimi Brun — Google review
Stayed at the hotel there for 1 night only in 2002, thought it was far too secluded. Then it was possible to go by car, but now you have to walk for 30 minutes the last part. Remember I thought it was good snorkeling anyway.
AP OS — Google review
The start of the route is about 200 meters above The Tarna Align Resort.
Walking at a moderate level, about 2 km for one
direction with a few ups and downs along the way. You pass through the forest and reach a virgin beach. I highly recommend going before the hot hours and it's definitely worth the walk!!!

Small pivate beach with clear water and coral reef.
It cannot be accessed by road. I tried to hike there from Ao tanote beach, but no success after 40 minutes of hiking. I finally reached there by kayaking from Ao tanote beach, it only took around 20 minutes.
There is abandoned resort right at the beach, we can go up and take a picture.
Pichit Tanyawangrat — Google review
It took me around 30 mins to get there from the main road (the last hotel), walking rather fast. On the way back I took around 40 mins. I was alone and I think the path is much easier and saver to walk than other paths on Koh Tao. It was dry so I don’t know how it is when it’s raining but I can imagine that it will be very slippery. Probably it’s not a good idea to go there during rain.
The sea was very rough today, so I didn’t go for a swim… I only saw three more people on my way (I expected more).
I am a very careful person so I suggest to go there with someone else and not alone if you want to feel comfortable all the time because the mobile reception is not that good on many parts. The abandoned hotel seems a bit creepy at first but the beach is just beautiful! It’s worth going there.
On the way, there is also an old nice man selling coconuts for 40 Baht. He said he lived up there and I think it is nice supporting him :)

An unbelievably beautiful beach with an abandoned hostel. I was the only person here.

Small private beach that not many people go because its about a 35 minute hike to get there but its really worth it with beautiful blue water and make sure to bring snacks because there isn't any shops through the hike if you get hungry. If your lucky you may be able to see goats there. Great beach overall 👌 🙌

The beach is a bit rocky but perfect for snorkeling. There are great rocks to hang and enjoy the view but the area should be entered with caution. Accessed by boat.
Lighthouse Beach is a secluded spot on the east side of Koh Tao, offering a diverse underwater landscape with an abundance of flamboyant soft corals and rare species like Unicorn fish. Accessible by foot or boat, it's about a 25-30 minute hike from the nearest point for parking your bike. The beach can also be reached via kayak, although some visitors have encountered issues with broken glass littering the area.
Good Spot for snorkeling. It's a nice hike through the forrest to get there. Only acces by foot or boat.
The Lighthouse is worth a visit. You can climb up.

Would give it 0! This is disgusting. I don’t understand why the owners of the bar/land don’t say it’s just a viewpoint where you can drink something. We asked 3 times, is the beach down there? We had snorkelling equipment with us. It was obvious that that was our plan. We had pay 100B, to hike at least 30min downwards in the jungle, have been bitten by so many mosquitoes and when we finely arrived we found a big load of garbage! This is the worst thing I’ve done in Thailand and I already been a lot of times. We disappointedly went back up sweating balls. We walked to the bar and they didn’t even came out of their house! Probably to ashamed because they just want money of tourists. This is not the Thai way!
Anouk Pieyns — Google review
Long way down to the beach A LOT of stairs to a very quiet clean beach. You pay 100B to get to it. Not sure if you can get food or drink on the beach. The whole resort is abandoned & must have been expensive in it day.
Warren More — Google review
The most unrewarding trek I’ve ever done. The place is full of broken glass and trash. There is a lady at the top, charging 100 baht per person for no reason as she doesn’t seem like to ever going down the path and maintain it (I literally had to clear it from fallen trees and branches). In my opinion, if you choose to take the trek, just ignore her.
Yuval Weiss — Google review
Nice beach for snorkeling, the moment we were there it was not crowded. I would advice to take a private boat so you can visit the beaches at your own pace.
Kris Cathenis — Google review
You should pay 100 bt per person, then 30 mins go through the jungle. Unfortunately the beach is too dirty, there are a lot of rubbish there 😩😭😢 there were no opportunity to swim ☹️
Katerina Provotorova — Google review
Beautiful bay with incredibly clear water!! It’s around a 25-30 minute hike, depending on where you stop your bike. It’s free access so ignore the locals at the top that ask for money to enter!!
Tom James — Google review
Very long hike to find rocks, trash and plastic soup. Cannot recommend unless you are going there in an effort to clean up the island or to record a Greenpeace ad. There's enough trash (probably depending on sea currents) to fill up at least a garbage truck. You cannot swim without touching the trash. Be advised that this is not a nice spot for tourists or hikers.
Christopher Bloemers — Google review
Difficult to reach. You have to hike and climb through the jungle. At the end, unfortunately, you only get a littered mini beach. But you are usually alone.
Marco Jungwirth — Google review
Really difficult spot to get to- we tired by foot but failed so decided to kayak over. However, the beach was littered with broken glass bottles which was extremely dangerous. The snorkelling near the beach was just normal- quite sandy in terms of visibility but it’s gets better further out.

To get here by foot take the road to mango bay and take a right off it at coordinates 10.115061, 99.836815 not very far along this road you will come to a sign for Por Jai View. Go left for Por Jai View or right for the trail to this beach. Por Jai View has 2 dogs, one that is very lazy and just sleeps all day and another really energetic adventure dog that knows the way to the beach and can guide you. If the owner is there you can ask her to let you walk with the dog :)
Por Jai View has camping as well, and you can buy drinks etc there.
The trail is pretty clear so even without the dog you should be okay. When you get to the beach if you want to go to the lighthouse, you can't see it from the beach, and the dog is probably playing in the sea by this point, so you might struggle to find it. Basically you need to walk north a little bit (keep left as you enter the beach) across the rocks for about 100 or 200 metres and with some luck you should find the trail cutting up the hill. Ideally, download backcountry navigator app (or another app that has the trail preloaded) and follow the trail which is marked on the map. You can use google maps to get a rough idea of where the lighthouse is, and where you are in relation to it, but google maps doesn't have the trail marked on it.
We had an amazing stay at Rocky Resort.
Our little house had a great view to the ocean and was very clean. The staff was very kind and the restaurant had good food. The shark bay which is directly linked to the resort is stunning and great for snorkling. The next supermarket is 20 minutes by foot and about 5 with a scooter so not a problem at all. Overall it was a very relaxing and nice experience.
Carlotta Becker — Google review
rooms very very basic and small but do the job , staff friendly , good food , pretty location but steep stairs and a 25 minute walk to shops
Herbie Daglish — Google review
Very isolated place which is good but a bit too isolated as in unless you have transport, you are tied to the resort if you like it or not. Ridiculous pricing (80 baht for a bottle of water. 130 baht for a poached egg) and nothing is complementary..... Even ice is chargeable at 5 baht. The rooms are basic and squalid. We were first put in a room that we affectionately called 'The Chicken Coup' that was over run with mosquitoes and ants. We refused to accept it, it was that bad and for 7000 baht extra we were upgraded 4 nights later to a room that was on the sea as promised, not tucked back in the jungle.
To get to the beach you have to wade through the sea which, at high tide is up to the chest so bring a waterproof bag and once on the beach make sure you take your key with you as beach patrol guards will charge you 100 baht just to be there.
Food is okay but expensive for what you get and if you fancy a beer? 80 baht for a small tin of Chang.
Shark View Bar run by Luguide has an amazing sunset and he is friendly and fun to be around so definitely give that a try.
All in all, a bit run down and tatty but the view is amazing however being charged for everything at silly amounts does leave you feeling like they have got you, now we turn the thumb screws on your wallet.

I came here to eat something after snorkelling. Only please that doesn't ask.you.for a fee to get into the beach. The pancake is the best I had in Thailand! Proper pancake like a crepe, good price for the location. Currently is a nit hidden (follow the signs that say "bar" then turn right). Ignore stupid sign.from the Beach Club saying that you gotta pay a fee!

Didn't stay in the rooms, so cannot review on them. We only had lunch and a swim. Beach is beautiful, quiet, by private access through this resort and others surrounding only or by sea. They do offer rooms at 600 THB with a fan, on the water front. Food tastes good. Ginger tea wasn't too sweet, just enough, perfect.
E Durman — Google review
We only visited the restaurant but the food we had was good. The views of the bay and beach are amazing and they have ice cold beer. All the staff were really friendly. There are lockers to store your stuff whilst snorkeling for only 20 baht. You can also access the beach by walking through the sea without paying the huge resort next door 100 baht per person.

Great stay right on the ocean. Can dive in from balcony and snorkel in the reef. Good food and coffee as well for a reasonable price for the location.
Joey Calzone — Google review
The food at the bar was horrible and expensive, worst burger I ever had. It was just a lot of burger bun and a super small beef patty. The bun was also way too sweet so the overall taste was horrible. Would not recommend eating here, but even drinks are way too expensive. Not worth it.
Simply put it's a wonderful place to spend a few days, especially if you like snorkeling. The staff provide excellent food and service. They also provide a ferry service to the town and back, twice per day, free of charge. We loved it here.

I wouldn’t recommend Mango Bay for the following reasons:
1. The road/track in is not for the faint hearted and should only be tackled by experienced riders.
2. There is an entrance fee of 100 baht per person.
3. Once you arrive you park your scooter/ bike up the top and have to navigate. hundreds of steps to get down to the beach.
4. The resort looks deserted, with some of the buildings boarded up to keep trespassers out.
David Strang — Google review
Walked here. View is absolutely incredible.
Felt pressured to buy something. Staff were friendly though.
Food prices are insane because it’s the only option here. I got a banana smoothie for 100 thb which was extremely nice.
Only 3 stars because you just feel like you’re getting ripped off when the dishes start at 300 thb.
Tom James — Google review
Booked 2 nights here, didn't know it was inaccessible by road. Nevertheless, they do have free boat twice a day to and from the pier, and it can even take you to koh nangyuen island for free. The manager was really friendly and accommodating. Anyway, rubbish bags were everywhere and we have flies in our rooms everyday. Can't even open the door to the balcony as the flies come in right away. Most disgusting thing we've experienced. The beach ain't private at all. Boats dock in here for the day tours and heaps of tourists everyday. In addition to this, the restaurant has a set lunch menu, which costs 300 baht per meal, though the dinner prices were acceptable. Free breakfast wasn't the best though. Lastly, there was no electricity from 6am to 6pm! All in all, won't book it again for such an expensive price.
ivy ilagan — Google review
Note that the resort is NOT ACCESSIBLE by road! You can only reach it by boat and only when the weather allows it.
They do offer a free shuttle boat twice a day though. Probably enough if you plan on staying the whole evening isolated in the resort.
Another thing is that electricity is only available from 6pm to 6am.
On the other hand the staff and all the people who work there are extremely nice, polite and helpful! They even did our groceries in the city when we asked them and carried our luggage all the way through the jungle for 15min to reach the road where we took a taxi (only option to get to the pier on a stormy day) which costed 1500 baht for a 30min ride.
It makes me sad to give only 2 stars because we had a good time with the people there. It's more like a warning for other naive travellers like us who think everything is always reachable and moving around the island wouldn't be a problem.

One of those hotels that claims the beach theirs and take money for going to the beach. The beach is not theirs, its everyone's.
Niels Fogtmann — Google review
The hotel looked run down and dilapidated. Getting there by boat is not a good experience especially on rainy days and should be avoided by people with sea sick problem. Snorkelling gear was provided by the hotel but of poor quality and old. Room was unclean and aircond compressor was rusty. Thatched roof was partly flown off really shows that the hotel is not well maintained. Otherwise, beach was clean and peaceful.

We came by boat for lunch. They gave us a fixed menu which was 300 baht for chicken and rice. This was our worst food during our thailand holiday. We were not allowed their regular menu which was not on. Dont bother is my advice
Aow June Juea Beach in Koh Tao is a serene and romantic spot ideal for spending quality time with loved ones. It boasts of breathtaking natural scenery in every direction, providing visitors with unlimited joy. This picturesque beach on the northern end is renowned for its stunning sunset views. Aow June Juea Bay is quickly becoming a favorite destination among tourists, especially those looking for hidden gems to explore.
The best beach on Koh Tao so far: no corals and sharp rocks at first but a forest of corals with lots of fishes later (great for snorkeling). Small beach with 2 sections. Not many people. The sunset was magical ❤️🔥

EDIT March 2023:
The restaurant and bar is open, you can have cold drinks, smoothies or food. The food is great and prices are fair. Snorkeling equipment for rent is new.
Beautiful beach, calm water, turquoise colours. Great for snorkeling, lot of marine life. Clean beach. I think the bungalows were closed, but you could rent snorkeling equipment. Not sure if the restaurant is open. No entrance fee.

Beautiful sunset and not many people here, but was a bit disappointed with the beach itself. The beach felt unclean and I could see rubbish on the sand and in the water. Cups and plates from the restaurant were left up on the sand with cigarette butts. I think there had been a recent algae bloom that was clouding the top of the water, but the bottle caps also floating in the green just gave me too much ick and I abandoned my swim. I want to come back another time and see how it is because it’s a great spot. Easy access via scooter with a little walk down.

Beautiful (and free) secluded spot, a tranquil place when windy. Absolutely perfect for young kids who want to snorkel, lots of colourful fish right by the shore, smooth rocks (no cut feet) and clear water. A steep and windy drive up and down woth 4 of us on the scooter but take it slow and its totally worth it!

This is a beautiful secluded beach on Koh Tao that is a mix of beautiful soft white sand and giant boulders. You won't find many people here. It has excellent snorkeling too.
We stumbled upon this beach while walking around the south side of the island from the pier, a walk I highly recommend as you will pass 7 somewhat secret beaches, this being one of them.
