Travelers are attracted to this scenic beach with a lighthouse, options for renting umbrellas, and various dining establishments. Kovalam Beach is situated approximately 18km away from Poovar, boasting a 17km coastline and three additional beaches. Among them, Light House Beach is the most favored by visitors. It features a tall 35m lighthouse positioned on a spot known as Kurumkal hillock.
One of the nicest beach in Southern part of Kerala. The beach is small but it's very neat and clean. Parking fee is 25rs for four wheeler. Ample parking space available. There are so many shops for clothing, food and souvenirs. Water sports is also available.

Always a pleasant experience to be here. This beach is beautiful with a necklace shape formation makes the view ecstatic.
There are many resorts nearby and it's cheaper if you go in the off season.
This place is also not too crowded so that you can enjoy a slow vacation.

Just 10Km away from Trivandrum city. One of the most beautiful beaches in this world. A combination of blue sky blue water white surf white sand green vegetation brown rock and a man made wonderful light house. Swimming in the shallow waters and surfing in the lovely tides are favourite for the tourists who visits this place. Once upon a time this place was a lovely seashore village of Kerala however; congested nowadays due to space constraints thus saturated further development.

Good but sand has gone fully black. And when we went visitors are not allowed to enter the beach water area, As its unsafe for all.
They said begining of June - end of August they do close the beach for public. Due to safety purpose
Only restaurant and shops are open in that area.

Tiny little beach. I'm surprised why this is an international beach. This beach cannot accommodate a lot of people. Parking place is also small. Only good thing is you can go walking on the sea facing non beach side for a lot of restaurants. Most of the restaurants are very similar though, promising cuisines from freshly caught fish, but they're average.
The sea at Kovalam is rough, not recommended for leaving kids unattended. There are lifeguards but one observation is all of them looked like they're in their 60s and a huge pot belly. So not too sure if the "guard" aspect.
It is a one time visit and probably the only beach within Trivandrum.

It is an absolute paradise! The pristine blue waters are a sight to behold, and the powdery white sands make it the perfect place for a day of relaxation. It's no wonder that Kovalam Beach is one of India's most popular spots.
There's something for everyone here - from sunbathing and swimming to strolling along the beach or hiring a boat to explore the coast.
The atmosphere is quite lively and cheery, with local vendors selling all kinds of goods. There’s also plenty of restaurants and seaside cafes to choose from.
It is definitely a place to visit if you’re looking for a relaxed and tranquil atmosphere. The beauty of the beach and the locals are sure to leave a lasting impression.

One of the best beaches in India. Picture perfect, clean & lovely.
Luckily it was not crowded, the day I visited.
Unfortunately I was visiting it on my way to Kanyakumari, so I didn’t had time to swim & enjoy waves here.

Kovalam Beach is a serene paradise nestled along the coastline of Kerala. The golden sands, clear blue waters, and gentle waves create a perfect ambiance for relaxation and rejuvenation. The picturesque cliffs surrounding the beach offer breathtaking views, especially during sunset. The beach is clean, well-maintained, and offers various activities like swimming, sunbathing, and surfing. The local seafood shacks serve delicious delicacies, adding to the overall experience. However, it can get crowded during peak tourist seasons, so visiting during off-peak times is advisable for a more tranquil experience.

Beach is maintained clean. And view of the beach is eyes worthy. You can enjoy the beach in your own way. Boating is available here. Jet boats are used for boating. So boating cost is high. But do boating here is worth. And best place for taking sunbath.

Beauty at it's peak.
The sunset here was breathtaking.
The sand is black here and the beach is very clean. Parking facilities are available.
The roadway to the beach is a very big slope. So if you're planning to go by your own vehicle with very few hill driving experience, I would ask you to rethink and park way before the slope and just have a chill walk down the beach.
Other than that, this beach is a bliss.

One of the Very beautiful place in Trivandrum that We can spend with our family and friends. Only thing, their is no benches or some other facilities to enjoy the sea view. Mostly foreigners visit this place. No proper toilet facilities and Dress changing rooms. Lot of food spots and hotels available. Need to maintain more.

Kovalam beach is a good place to enjoy with family or friends. The beach is clean and best time to enjoy is morning or evening. There are lifeguards available but still need to be very careful esp during high tides.
Overall nice place
Mansukh Gohil — Google review
The beach is stunning and the lighthouse looks as if it’s been planted on top of the rusty-red rocks purely to look good on holiday photos. The colours are so bright and sharp it could be a child’s drawing.
The sea is blue and the waves are ideal for children to play. The sand is fine and has sparkling black grains running through it, the beach slopes away gently giving shallow areas for paddling.
Lifeguards keep swimmers under their watchful gaze in the middle of the beach, the surfers take the edges. You can hire body boards and have an hour of fun for 100Rps.
At the north end of the beach fishing boats and nets stand on the sand, waiting to be used again.

A great place visit in holidays to relax and enjoy the scenic beauty. It's relatively a small beach that's where its real beauty lies. (Seriously, I was already tired walking on the sands on Marina beach to reach the shore), A very picturesque location with the majestic sea and gigantic lighthouse adding to the beauty of the tourist place. A must visit place if you are planning a vacation in South India or Kerala, specifically.

This is an excellent place to visit with your friends. Perfect for a two day trip just to relax on a sea view resort, fun games like para sailing, scuba diving, surfing and everything. Like you might have heard, this is another mini Goa😅. The only thing bothered me is the food, I'm no sea food lover so I had to struggle a bit to find and explore good food.

one of the beautiful and cleanest beach in kerala, plenty of food options and decent parking space.. swimming is not allowed but you can see people and kids play in the water, didn't spot life guard. it's quit humid in the afternoon so best time to visit is evening to enjoy the sunset view and have nice dinner.

Must visit place in Kerala. Although it is a Sunset 🌇 friendly beach, you can come here in the early morning and walk through the beach 🏖 with no crowd noise. It was such an experience to come here in the morning. Breez from the see with shiny sun.
But the thing is you will not get any food items or local dishes because all will not be open at that time.

One of the best beaches in Kerala. Kovalam beach is neat and clean. The main problem with the beach is lack of parking space. On weekends it is very difficult to find parking space even on the roadside. When you are travelling by the public transport, there is a very good connectivity of buses to trivandrum city from the beach bus stand.

A nice place for spending weekend time. We went with family and it was good. Some more neatness and maintenance is required. I think even the public should have the awareness that they have to keep things clean. But the natural scenery is good .

Kovalam beach is a Cresent shaped beach and I feel it is what makes this beach more beautiful. Light house view from the beach is an add on to its beauty. Shops and restaurants are so close to the waves with only a walkway apart in between.
But this beach is over crowded on weekends and holidays. Also the route to the beach is not wide enough to provide smooth traffic.

Kovalam beach is a beautiful and serene place to relax and enjoy the sun, sand and sea. I loved the lighthouse beach for its scenic views and the hawah beach for its fishing activities. The beach is clean and well-maintained, and there are many options for accommodation, food and entertainment nearby.
Hawa Beach Resort is a peaceful retreat with custom wooden furnishings, outdoor seating areas and stunning sea-view terraces. This real beach resort provides the perfect setting to relax and take in the sounds of the tides, enjoy sunrise views while sipping tea or coffee on your balcony. The rooms are comfortable, although they could use some maintenance.
This accommodation's prime highlight is its fantastic beachside location. Despite offering a minimal selection, the tasty and hygienic breakfast provided a wonderful start for the day. Additionally, the array of high-quality restaurants in the vicinity ensured diverse dining experiences. The exceptional hospitality of the staff significantly contributed to making the stay thoroughly enjoyable.

Well removed 1 star because to reach the hotel you need to walk 150 MTR from a small lane. The overall experience of the hotel was very good. The staff is very polite and gives fast service which is most important for any guest. Rooms are big enough to give a specious feel. Furniture inside the room is antique furniture specially the dressing table and its chairs and center table . There is a common balcony on 1 St floor and terrace on the 2nd floor to enjoy the sea view directly from the hotel. The breakfast tasted good. On this beach all hotels have the same problem of reaching and parking. To reach parking you need a skilled driver because the slope is huge.
The owner is also good and helpful. You get more options for lunch and dinner at sea face hotels which are 50 meters away from the hotel.

What I felt that it was a good hotel for staying once upon a time. Overall location is the main advantage here. However service is very poor. Intercom phone was not working, you can't get any tea or coffee in room, no other dining facilities except breakfast.

Good place to enjoy with family and friends, Kovalam beach view from the hotel balcony is amazing, attached restaurant is available only during peak seasons, rest of the days visitors has to depend on other restaurants available on the shore. Furniture and ACs in the room are old, maybe replacement needed. Parking is bit far from the hotel.

Hawah Beach Resort is located exactly in front of Kovalam Beach in Trivandrum, Kerala. The rooms are spacious but not that premium. Some room fans make loud noise, which is ridiculous. There is no elevator in this Hotel so if you get room on 1st, 2nd or 3rd floor you need to carry the languages in own. They have a few manpower for support, so at a time, everyone will not get enough facility. The view from the terrace is awesome. The sea is just approx. 70 meters from the hotel. The food quality is good. The way to Hawah Beach Resort is so narrow, and the vehicle parking is away from the hotel approx. 60 meters. Don't expect much, but one can enjoy it if compromise some points.

Wrong location on google maps. Good place, just on the beach shore and all the market is around. Rooms are just fine but the location on maps is wrong, it’s the parking area from where you’ll have to walk 150 meters to reach the hotel back gate. Also yea there is no elevator so not suitable for people having issue in walking.

One of the best place in trivandrum to experience the evening vibe and sunset. You can see the the view from main road itself, but you can also walk to to the side roads to experience the complete beauty of this place. You can buy fresh fish also from here. Currently boating is not available. You can either come to this place though your own vehicle or public transport like KSRTC bus. There is no dedicated parking space but you can park your vehicles near to this site. Safe swimming spaces are there in the lake. I think government can make this place as a main tourist attraction in Trivandrum, by providing public toilets and parking kind of facilities.

Due to the torrential rains in this part of the country, the roads and amenities have diminished however this place still has that aura which brings tourists here.
Enjoy a quiet walk down the banks of the Vellayani Lake amidst the lush, green vegetation filled with the fragrance of wild flowers.

Today I went to KOVALAM SAMUDRA PARK owned by SAMUDRA BEACH RESORT (GoK undertaking, KTDC).
Location : Near Udaya Samudra Resort and Taj Resort Kovalam
Vibe : It's a perfect place for enjoying a nice evening. From Children's play area to Small Beach , the whole park will be a good destination.
| Entry is free of cost ! |
Description :
It has a water fountain with neatly decorated pebbles. And a cafeteria with toilet facilities ( under construction) The mural painting on the wall along with the solar powered light tower makes the park both Aesthetic and Modern.
Geography: At first u will see a Banyan Tree in front of the park making the park hard to find. Left side - Children's park with a large turf made ground for children's safety, which is impressive. The walls are studded with mountains climbing steps.
The main areas was built like a stage. I Hope after the pandemic, many programmes will be conducted here. Cafeteria comes at the left side of park along side the gateway of SAMUDRA BEACH RESORT.
Then there is steps to access the beach, alongside a stone hill too..
View : Excellent view from the top of the Rock hill. You can see the lighthouse from there. Perfect place for photography.
Ambience : The yellow lights, the green grass, the grey stone used in pillors and stairs, the pebbled water fountain, the mural paintings on walls along with spot lights and the greenish blue sea in the background makes the place a wonderful host.
Parking : Enough space for 4 wheelers and 2 wheeler.
Cons : 1) No street light from main road to park
2) No proper Name board on main road find it hard to reach.
3) Beach and the nearby area is very polluted with trash.
Distance : 11kms from EastFort Bus stop

Nice river which has water through out the year.. Even the river has more than 25 feet water in hot summer days..but the water is polluted and not good for... All... Uses. It's water is now only used for irrigation purposes only...

A beautiful river with age old trees at both its banks, flowing along the city outskirts. However it's not free from plastics and garbage. But not as polluted as killi river though

We went in the evening on a week day, and it was a relexing evening well spent at Adimalathura Beach. It was our first time visiting and easily found our way with Google navigation. The beach and surroundings were maintained neat and clean.
There were many waves and some were really huge! Follow the lifeguards' instructions and do not venture out too far as currents can be strong especially at high tides.
It was not very crowded but parking was a bit cumbersome as there were no designated parking lots /area. Up to where we walked and ventured out along the vast beach (around 40 min) there is were no toilet/washroom facilities available.

Nice beach and very nice sand. Unfortunately local authorities have no dustbins to collect garbage and there is all over litter of plastic and good rappers. I have visited many part of the india like Indore and whole place is very clean and no litter. If local Govt take some initiative then this can attract many folks and locals can enjoy the natural beauty Kerala has .

It is a shore from where the Sea went back and naturally created a wide shore. Before 20 years the Sea was so close to the present Church. It is a place where you are safe and feel happy. It is a holy Place of prayer. No psunami could destroy this place.
It is a historical place where many believes, stories, and myths are paving their roots to reveal to one and all whoever come over here in this white-sand to fill their mind with sanctity, to give their future with prosperity, and to wash the foot by crazy murmuring white sand for a healthy life.
I have many things to reveal about this beach which I love and like most. There is steep valley to give green nature beauty in one side. Deep blue sea named Arabic Ocean having good fish wealth in the other side. There are different types of soil in different colours in different sizes. There are several medicinal plants in this valley.

Beautiful spot on the beach, with a huge collection of Christian monuments.
You can catch fishing done the old fashioned way, no pun intended, early in the morning. Nets come out from 08:00 to about 10:00. Very interesting to see how some families survive here. Definitely worth a watch. Very humbling.
Very peaceful from around 15:00, catch some late afternoon sunlight. For that deep tun and watch the Sun set. There are beds and umbrellas available.

Adimalathura Beach is a coastal treasure that captures the essence of untouched beauty. Tucked away along the southern coast of India, this beach is a hidden gem waiting to be explored.
The first thing that strikes you at Adimalathura is the pristine, golden shoreline that stretches gracefully along the Arabian Sea. The soft sands invite you to take leisurely strolls, collect seashells, or simply sit and admire the rhythmic dance of the waves.
What makes Adimalathura truly special is its tranquil ambiance. Unlike some crowded tourist destinations, this beach offers a serene escape. It's the perfect place to unwind, read a book, or just listen to the soothing sounds of the sea.
The local fishing community adds to the charm of Adimalathura. Watching the fishermen at work or enjoying freshly caught seafood at one of the local shacks is a unique and delightful experience.
For those seeking solitude and a connection with nature, Adimalathura Beach is a hidden paradise that offers solace and serenity. Whether you come for a peaceful retreat, a romantic getaway, or simply to appreciate the unspoiled beauty of the coast, Adimalathura Beach will leave you with unforgettable memories. Don't miss the opportunity to visit this coastal haven.

Golden Sands Beach resort is a comfortable establishment located in a windy area, offering rooms and suites that are heated for guests' comfort. The resort features various amenities including an outdoor swimming pool and a restaurant. Additionally, visitors can indulge in Ayurvedic massages during their stay.
We had stayed this Resorts from 8-15 January 2023 for 7 nights . Booked 2 rooms for my sons & us .
Atmosphere is nice and homely, staffs are polite and helpful.
Mr Ani Mathews ( General Manager) became good friend of us as he grew up at Kolkata and speak nice Bengali!
Moreover he surprised on very last night by providing a Complimentary poolside candle dinner for us !
Desk staff Mr Akhil helped at his best for every next morning site seeing arrangements. He offered good priced trip ( most of time used their own car ) . Random cross checking at Chowara area with other vehicles ; costs seems ok .
Restaurant staff Mrs Shyno & Mr Juman are so helpful , quality of cooking is good .
Negative points : Safe locker not working . Pool side area need more cleanup.
This resorts 9 km from Kovalam and 28 Km from TRV . Tricycle Auto and car is available with reasonable price .
I do accounts this resorts deserve good price value .

During kerala we booked this resort for 3 nights and our experience was good.
Rooms are spacious , big and huge balcony . However you don’t get any beach view from the rooms .
Rooms are clean , spacious and warm water and small fridge available inside the room and AC also.
Resort doesn’t have Lift so if you take higher floor room you have to walk more. They have in-house restaurants with limited food options for lunch and dinner so we had our dinner and lunch usually on Kovalam Beach.
Kovalam Beach is at walking distance and it will take hardly 5 minutes walk to reach beach .
Resort has huge and big swimming pool which is open from morning 8 to 6pm only and good option to enjoy your day at pool .
Good family resort with good rooms and service

Property is good.
Main issue is that No vehicle access to reach the hotel. The hotel manager provides you cab from main road to highway for check in Only. After check out they will not entertain. If you wish to go own, no auto available nearby the hotel location.

This is one of the worst property I have come across. Golden sands beach resort is not worth on the prices being charged as it is very standard 1 or 2 star hotel as against 3 start property which they are claiming. Worst experience starts with entrance to the hotel, quality of the rooms, absence of all amenities (except for pool which is also in very dirty condition). One should avoid Food and breakfast in this hotel as it is simply not worth it at all.

The pathway to the hotel is very though and all the rooms are renovated. It fully dusted u will not get hot water n bad odour is in every room this is not best place to stay

Rooms:Below par, Sticky floors and wifi is located way far so basically it's non existent. Air conditioning in the room we stayed was noisy and in poor condition. Television were there in both rooms we booked but there's no connection. There's a refrigerator in the room we booked and that's a positive I suppose.
Service: Other than the only positive being swift delivery on orders, room service won't impress you. We asked for our room to be cleaned due to sand lying here and there( we don't know how it got there.) We went out for the day and it was still there when we came back.
Pool: Not available beyond early evening.
Food: Overpriced without a doubt. You could order three different main courses and they'll all taste the same but with different toppings.
General : I'd say overpriced due to the below par amenities provided but I guess they are enabled by the high demand of the location in general. The beach is a 200 m walk through some corridors, it's not in sight as the title beach resort might mislead.

We have just completed our trip few days ago for two days and very clear to say that the hotel fittings are old. Telephone was not working so I have two come down two floors every time to say anything. The attendant does not bother. The water not flowing from tap properly. They doesn't bother to clean the room although the keys were submitted. They doesn't allow us for a late check out even after requesting repeatedly. In one word we had a very bad experience . Only the good thing is that the hotel is near the light house beach just 1-2 min walk.

Very nice budget friendly resort for family and friends.
Very good rooms and facilities was nice.
Clean and tidy rooms. There is a swimming pool which is accessible from morning 8:30 to evening 6 for every guest.
Food is also available at paid rates.
Parking also available.
You will find a bit creepy to reach to the resort as the road is so small and only one vehicle can pass. If you are a beginner in driving, it will be hard to reach here.
The resort is situated few metres away from kovalam beach, you have to walk around 5-10 minutes to reach the beach.

"My experience was terrible"
1. Outside food is not allowed and sold inside the resort
relatively high.
2. Strictly prohibited to consume beverages.
3. Parties are prohibited.
4. This location does not permit the use of speakers.
5. Strictly prohibited to have more than two guests in a single
room.
6. The swimming pool is strictly available for use until 6 pm.
(The pool is quite small.)
7. The behaviour is extremely repulsive.
The question is: Then why do we need to take a resort ? to sleep?

The 2 stars account only for the hot and delicious breakfast and the amazing pool.
The hotel room, furniture seems age old. Rooms were dusty. Air conditioner was working but was making noise. No need to do additional exercises as this hotel don’t have lift. Stairs are bit straight. 40 odd stairs to reach second floor.
Location is extremely difficult to find from Light house. Roads are steep to reach hotel parking.
If you don’t have any options to stay in Kovalam, then only go here.

Where do I begin ? Very friendly staff. Quick service. Spacious room. Amazing food. Location very close to beach. Facilities like swimming pools, 24hrs hot water, attached balcony, good toiletries, wifi is good but only available in the balcony and not in the room. Overall a great experience

Hotel is near Light house beach at 5 min walking distance. Room was nice. Pool is not big. Food was tasty. Chicken roast kerala style is must try dish. Staff is cooperative

My recent stay at this hotel left me with mixed feelings. Let's start with the positives. The staff is undoubtedly the highlight of this establishment. They are incredibly cooperative, attentive, and always ready to assist with a smile. I found their service to be exceptional throughout my stay.
Now, onto the culinary experience – the food is nothing short of amazing. The hotel caters to various dietary preferences, including Jain food, which was a pleasant surprise. The flavors and variety in their menu are sure to delight any food enthusiast.
However, when it comes to the rooms, the property shows its age. The rooms, while spacious, could use some modernization. Another downside is the absence of a lift, which could be inconvenient for guests with mobility issues.
On the positive side, the hotel's location is a major plus point. It's within walking distance to both Kovalam beach and the cliff area, making it convenient for beach lovers. However, a word of caution – the path to the beach can be quite narrow and isolated, so it's advisable not to venture alone in the dark.
The hotel boasts a clean swimming pool, complete with a separate kids' pool, which is perfect for families. There's also a small, beautiful garden area where you can unwind.
One challenge I faced was locating the hotel from the main road. It's a bit tucked away, and you might need to contact the reception for precise directions. Fortunately, the staff is receptive and readily provides guidance. They even display a phone number outside the parking lot for your convenience, and they take care of your luggage from the parking area.
In conclusion, this hotel has its pros and cons. While it may not be the most modern property, the exceptional staff and delicious food make it a decent choice, especially if you're planning to explore Kovalam's beautiful beaches and cliffs. Just be prepared for a slightly dated accommodation experience.

big rooms.. close to beach. 5min walk. Stuffs are helpful.
Cons: The system to hot water is bit tricky which leads to run hot water for an hour or so even in the cold tap. Had difficulty for bathing time everyday.
Food was good.

Average experience with Golden Sands resort.
We did our tour of Kerala covering Cochin Munnar Eravikulum Idukki Thekkady Periyar Jatayu Kovalam Kumarakom houseboat Alleppey Trivandrum Poovar Eranakulam and 6 hr drive from South to North Kerala.
Room was good with a balcony.
However room intercom was not working and caused us major issues for us to communicate with the reception. I had to go up and down 2 floors at least 5 times. This is uncalled for.
Batteries in the remotes were dead.
There was no fridge in our room even though it was provided in other rooms with the same price and connection for the fridge was there.
Staff was helpful and courteous. The night manager was very helpful.
However kindly check your bill here. They tried to charge me extra for bottled water.
The pool was nice. Floats were provided.
Other than a few things that can be easily rectified it was a good stay..
