Teppanyaki Minami is a Japanese restaurant known for its exquisite dishes, particularly its use of Kobe beef and other high-quality cuts prepared in unique ways. The restaurant takes great care in the presentation of their dishes, often making them social media-worthy.
I took my wife to Teppanyaki Minami to celebrate her birthday and we were blown away by the incredible food and service.
They started us off with fresh, delicious salads before cooking up mouthwatering wagyu beef and tender, buttery abalone right before us. The beef was so flavorsome and the abalone was a real treat.
The fried rice was fantastic as well, perfectly cooked and seasoned. Throughout the meal, our chef entertained us with his impressive cooking skills.
The staff were very friendly and attentive, promptly catering to any requests we had.
Teppanyaki Minami exceeded all expectations for our birthday dinner. The top-notch ingredients, fantastic execution, and wonderful hospitality made for a 5-star experience my wife won't forget. I highly recommend it for celebrating any special occasion.

We booked the deluxe option with my our two boys, 9 and 11 years old. and were given a separate table to the bar. Our 11 year old is reticent generally to eat 'weird' food (basically anything that isn't burgers and chips!) but he tried everything offered here and enjoyed a lot of it. There was a superb steak course and three types of salt to try with it, along with fresh teppan-grilled vegetables and an amazing fried rice with garlic chips made in front of us which we all loved. The 'tomato two ways' was an excellent sorbet and a reduction, which was a perfect palate cleanser. The atmosphere was quiet and calm, not too busy, which was good after a day at Nintendo World! Service was attentive and the chef serving us, Tsuyoshi Kondo, assistant sous chef, was skilled and kind. As he had limited English, I used as much of my Japanese as possible and we were able to have some fun with the experience too. Recommended!

Food: Good quality food.
Service: Always had great service
Value: Pricey but worth it
Ambiance: Nice Teppanyaki dining with shared seating
Reservations: Highly recommended
Have been to Minami several times.
Nice and upscale environment, with a serene garden background/backdrop at most of the Teppanyaki tables.
Slight seasonal variations in regards to the appetizers/salads, decent selection of wines to pair with the meal courses.
Fixed menu courses with slight variations/substitutions allowed to accommodate allergies or personal preferences. All of the course items are generally well though out and well balanced.
Reservations are recommended given the limited seating availability. Be prepared to spend between $100.00-$200.00+USD per person depending on the course selected.

Hozenji Yokocho, located behind Hozenji Temple in southern Osaka, is a charming narrow alleyway filled with around 60 traditional food stalls, cafes, and taverns. Originally a bustling theater district in the 1600s, this area offers a wide variety of dining options ranging from sushi to hot pot and the popular Osaka dish okonomiyaki. The atmosphere comes alive in the evening with swinging lanterns casting a soft light that transports visitors back to old Japan.
Located not far from Ebisu Bashi and Dotonburi, in one of the side streets of Shinsaibashi Street, this small temple is very charming, especially in the evening when the little lanterns are lit.

An interesting contrast to the busy Dotonbori tourist area as this place seems to be a secret alley of shops and restaurant that gives an old-time Japan charm, it's almost like being on a movie set! The strip is set in cobblestone paved path and it features a minor temple called Hozenji, for which the street was named after.
There's a small stone Buddhist statue now beautifully covered with moss, thanks to a long tradition of people pouring water into the statue as they make a wish.

Really neat set of alleyways that's full of good food. A tad less busy than Dotonbori as well. Would definitely recommend strolling around here for lunch or dinner!

A beautiful place to wander through in the day and away from the crowds, a few monuments have English translations too! Definitely come back at night time to see the rows of tiny bars alive!

An area located in the bustling Minami district, yet still retaining the peaceful atmosphere of Naniwa. Within Yokocho are long-established Japanese restaurants, bars, okonomi-yaki restaurants (Japanese pancakes) and kushi-katsu restaurants (skewers and fried meats and vegetables).

This alley has become a major tourist draw in Osaka, it's a narrow stone-paved alley lined with traditional Japanese izakayas, restaurants, and shops. It's especially enchanting in the evenings when the lanterns illuminate the narrow alley, creating a magical ambiance.

Nice street with a lot of good looking restaurants but very very crowded at night. You will have to take some time to queue, which is normal in Japan though.

This is a pair of narrow cobbled pedestrian lanes in the back of Dotonbori (towards Namba direction), filled with small interesting restaurants. Less commercial than the bustling Dotonbori main streets, but more fun.

Sounds better than it is. Haven't tried any restaurants here but feel that this Street wasn't much different to many others, except for the cobblestone

Quiet alley with great restaurants. We wandered at random and came up with a great king crab leg restaurant.
Nestled in a quiet alleyway just off the bustling Dotonbori district, Hozenji is an intimate Buddhist temple that offers a serene escape from the surrounding noise and commercial activity. The temple is adorned with lanterns and features a moss-covered statue of Fudomyoo, the deity of protection. Visitors can offer prayers for safe travels before strolling down Hozenji Yokocho, a historic cobbled street lined with izakayas.
Such a nice surprise nestled amidst the vibrant and sometimes overwhelming streets. A beautiful reminder to be grounded

I had the pleasure of visiting Hozenji, a small temple nestled in the heart of the bustling city, and I was instantly captivated by its tranquil ambiance and mesmerizing beauty. As I approached the temple gate, I couldn't help but notice its unassuming facade, which belied the captivating charm that awaited within.
The moment I set foot on the temple grounds, I was greeted by a sense of calmness that seemed to permeate the air. The first thing that caught my eye was the enchanting deity statue covered entirely in a vibrant carpet of moss. It was truly a sight to behold, as if nature itself had cradled the statue with its gentle touch. The moss-covered deity served as a captivating centerpiece, exuding a unique aura of tranquility and reverence.

This is a small neighborhood Buddhist temple that is located at a side street from a shopping arcade. It features a moss-covered green Buddha and two equally moss-covered columns and flowers, in which you can water them by scooping water from the stone bowl. They offer a wooden plate at 300 yen to write your blessings and hang them out. It is a peaceful temple to enjoy a quiet moment with yourself, but the heat and humidity made it unpleasant to stay longer. I would suggest to visit in any other season than Summer.

I may have an obsession with chōchin; the Japanese lantern.
Whenever I am in Namba, (which was usually about once a year prior to 'the thing'), I find myself drawn magnet-like to this little buddhist temple tucked down an alleyway in downtown Dotonbori, near Namba station.
What’s the attraction? chōchin
The lanterns are gorgeously designed, well-maintained, and at night providing a burst of colour and light that is impossible to ignore.
it’s usually fairly quiet and you should respect that silence by projecting your own quietness.
After a moment of reflection, where I can gather my spirits, I tend to leave here with a quiet joy in my heart, ready to experience what the universe has in store for me!

This is a temple that, as soon as you step in, it feels very peaceful, small but very noble and beautiful. It's so cute to have cats. It's very close to Dotonbori, so don't miss it if you're going to visit it.

It's a very small shrine a few meters away from Dotonbori. Went here early morning on a Monday, so not much people. If you're interested in shrines then this is a must. However, if you're not then I don't really recommend visiting this unless you specifically want to see the famous moss-covered statue.

Nankai Information Center is a convenient spot to get maps and ask tourism-related questions, especially if you're arriving at Namba early in the morning via Kansai International Airport. One of Osaka’s oldest and busiest shopping destination which runs around a kilometer in length between Umeda and Namba, and at Datambori, Shinsaibashi Sui becomes Ebisubashi Suji, though the same shopping atmosphere remains, obviously, I'm sure you must have guessed? Indeed retail therapy. Till 6pm. Didn't do down well with me. I think I have already told you before that I am done and over with shopping. The Kamigata Ukiyoe Museum, located in Osaka, is a small but fascinating museum dedicated to the traditional Japanese art form of Ukiyo-e. Unlike the more famous Edo Ukiyo-e, which often depicts landscapes and beautiful women, Kamigata Ukiyo-e focuses on kabuki actors and performances. This unique collection includes rare prints that offer insights into the popular culture of the Edo period in the Kamigata area.
This place is very relaxing, a great place to blow off steam and look at traditional Japanese art. they have this zen place where you have to take off you shoes and sit on a mat kind of thing? It’s super relaxing and I would spend a whole day here if I could. There is a TV, colouring, art books(?) and ofc, art. This whole place is 3 floor tall the first 2 floors are traditional Japanese paintings some of them with meanings behind them( very detailed) and the 3rd floor is the zen place I talked about. When I gone there wasn’t anybody there but I don’t know for other people. ( would recommend for anybody that comes across this place!)

Loved seeing all the paintings about kabuki actors that are currently on display at the moment. Make sure you read all the story lines next to the paintings to get a good understanding of the paintings. Also be sure to check out level 4 which have seats on tatami and a collection of painting books from different Japanese painters in the past. You can take your time browse through them. There are also beautiful costumes you could put on to take photos.

Very affordable museum nearby the bustle of Dotonburi. A great sample of Ukiyo-E prints can be viewed here! Something to look: the prints that have imbossed sections onto white or other colors. On top of the 6 colors that were printed the extra detail of the texture is a treat to see! Prints, tools, blocks, and an extremely intricate kimono are all on display. No-flash photography is OK! Japanese and English pamphlets are available! They even have English descriptions of the artworks! On the top floor you can color a reproduction of a print or enjoy their library of prints. Great way to see some Japanese history!

Three years ago, I invested 1,000 yen in Hanemono TOKIO, and when I completed 15 rounds and tried to exchange all the balls for prizes, I pressed the return button on the machine, picked up my card, and checked the number of remaining balls, and it was 0. Is there any evidence if I report to the store staff that there is a problem with the number of sand balls remaining? Isn't it the customer's mistake? I kept repeating the question and answer, and I couldn't stand the progress, so I gave up and left the store, thinking I had thrown away the 3,500 yen.If it were me now, I would definitely have called the police. It's confusing for people who play here, but I'll take pictures of the evidence. It's definitely safer to stay there. If the authorities receive many complaints about the balls at this store, they should start an investigation. This store that steals Kenichi Suenaga's balls should be thoroughly marked.

They don't do a great job of ventilation here, so if you stay for more than 3 minutes you will smell like smoke.

Decent building with lots of arcade and games. Karaoke on the fourth floor was really nice, first karaoke I've been to in japan and I was not disappointed. Their song list is pretty updated - even the English and Chinese songs. All you can drink alchohol and sing for 3 hours was only $30 CAD, there was also a softdrink stand and icecream machine both free of charge I believe. One thing to note is that karaoke in Japan (and many asian countries) don't have the original singer's voice, so you'll really have to know how to sing the songs you order. All in all it was a great place to hang out with friends.

We often go there for karaoke (Manekineko). Be aware you can only access this Manekineko by the elevators from outside and not the escalator inside.
ekimoなんば is an underground mall conveniently connected to Namba Station, offering a variety of shops, services, and dining options. One of the notable stores is Jins, which provides high-quality prescription glasses and excellent customer service. It's a great place to explore for shopping and grabbing a bite to eat while in the area.
If you needed small items, knife 🔪, nail cutters, wrapping paper, disposable plastic cups and other supplies. Packing tapes and many more item to choose from.

Go to Jins for prescription glasses. Better than Lens Crafters.
