Cape Manzamo is a popular oceanfront rock formation that resembles an elephant's trunk, attracting many tourists and photographers. While some visitors find it touristy due to the commercialization at the entrance, others appreciate the stunning views and affordable admission. Despite occasional closures during stormy weather, the cape offers a breathtaking outlook of waves crashing against the cliffs.
it's a scenic rock formation located in Onna and looking close to the rock it looks like an elephant head lol
it's a popular tourist spot that is worth the go

It does cost 100 ¥ per person, using the vending machine past the stairs inside the building. Parking is easy and you must walk through the building to get to the cliff. Must still wear a mask. Food inside is cheap but good (less than 500¥).

For 100 yen we were able to see the cape and get some beautiful pictures. There were food options and a gift shop there. We enjoyed Okinawa donuts and had some drinks after we checked out the scenery.

It is a great destination to see the elephant shaped rock and walk around the park. The weather was great when we were there just a little bit windy. The color of the sea was beautiful. There is a facility that you can eat and drink. We had coffee and tried Okinawa’s special donuts that we liked a lot.

Gorgeous views! Free parking, ¥100 entry fee for adults, several food options upstairs, and a gift shop downstairs. It’s a great stop off spot to visit if you’re in the area.

Gorgeous view! Relaxing spot. Feels like connected with the sky and sea at once. Just ¥100 for entering the walkway. A must-see historical site in Okinawa.

Beautiful overlook and short walking path around the cape. Costs ¥100 yen per person, and you can buy tickets from the self service kiosks inside the visitor’s center. The visitor’s center also has a souvenir shop and small food court upstairs. Great stop as you sightsee around the island.

Walk into the building and pay a small fee of 100 JPY to access the viewing area. Properly constructed walkway to take in the perfect view. Arrived there in time for sunset. My first experience viewing the sun slowly settling behind the horizon.

A beautiful spot with nice views, but other than the elephant rock, there not much else to see. Was it worth the trip? That depends on you.

Cape Manzamo, also known as Cape Manza, is a distinctive rock formation located near Onna Village. It’s a ¥100 entry fee and the parking is free. They have food options on site to choose from and a souvenir store.

Excellent view! You have to pay for entrance fee (¥100 adult) and can be used through out the day. There are also restaurants, gift shops and free space for you to relax after sightseeing.

In October 2020, a new facility consists of shops, observatory and rest area was established. An admission fee of ¥100 is required to enter the premises where Cape Manzamo is visible.
Overall:
- Nice view
- Good parking lot
- Many shops to buy gifts
- Clean washrooms
Well worth ¥100.

My local friend took me here on the stormy day. The place decided to close off due to high wind and stormy nature. However, after knowing the fact that this place is an outlook to watch the wave splashing at the cliff. I had no idea why it was closed off during a stormy weather.
Luckily, it opened up before we decided to leave. However, thou the weather is stormy and windy. For some reason, the waves weren't strong enough to show any spectacular splash.

It’s a small place that can be covered within 15-30 min depending on how long you stop to take photos. There are toilets, a souvenir shop and some snack stalls. Entrance fee is 100 yen per person. Worth a look if you are in the northern part of Okinawa!

This is a great place to visit. It only cost about $3 for 4 tickets. There was a beautiful view, a really nice gift shop and a few restaurants.

Great place to stop at. It’s very cheap to visit. The views are breathtaking. Bring binoculars if you have them. And there’s a nice shop and eating areas. There’s a balcony where you can eat food from the food court and look out at the view.
Ben — Google review
The views were great and the admission cheap, but this is one of the more touristy things I’ve visited here.
They built a large center at the entrance to this natural landmark, with a large store, restaurants, etc inside. They even shepherded us into a line and took photos against a Cape Manzamo backdrop that they tried to sell us on the way out.
We saw bus loads of tourists dropped off for this photo op, luckily we beat them through the little path to take in the beauty with relative peace and quiet.
If you’re in the area, it’s a nice visit, but not anything to go out of your way for.

Amazing view! It's a 100 yen to enter, but worth the money. They take a photo and if you want it blown up it's 1,300 yen. The story is pretty fascinating as well. The Okinawa donuts are a must as well, cost around 120 yen.
Chris Lee — Google review
It is 100 yen to enter and a nice short walk through the paved field to enjoy the views. They take a picture of you that you can take home as a souvenir (for free) and you can purchase a bigger one for a small charge. Lots of dining options and free parking!

A truly majestic view of the elephant-shaped cape. We could go up really close to the cliff, lending for an excellent view. Do be careful on windy days, there are minimal barriers (hence the unobstructed too) so steer clear from the cliff edges.
Entrance fee is 100yen/adult. There is just a single route for you to walk along the cliff side.
Parking is available at the cape and it is free. There are also cafes selling snacks and drinks and a souvenir store. We loved the okinawan kokuto donuts at the cafe!

When we came here over a decade ago, it was a local tourist spots with old stalls selling very locally made products like cloths, sculptures and snacks, and only a piece of barren land for parking. Much to my surprise this time, it has now evolved into a nicely managed shopping mall with a proper carpark, with a variety of restaurants, souvenir shops and food stalls. The view is still spectacular. I'm happy to pay that 100 yen for their maintenance.
The ANA InterContinental Manza Beach Resort is an elegant establishment that boasts six luxurious bars and restaurants, as well as an outdoor pool and spa facilities. While some rooms may not offer direct sea views, guests can enjoy comfortable beds and delicious breakfast options, including both Western and Japanese styles. The resort also features a stunning beach and onsen area for relaxation. Moreover, the staff is friendly and helpful with transportation inquiries.
This hotel is beautiful and a perfect stay for families.
Yes, the rooms are old, especially the flooring need some renovations, but you basically just sleep there anyways. The breakfast is delicious and they make nice dishes to order on top of the buffet.
Pool is fun but the best part about the hotel is the Ocean park. We spent hours there, having fun. You can either go there by hotel shuttle or walk, it’s about 5 min walk.
The only con is that the toilets by the beach stink, they need some cleaning, and the badminton courts are dirty and kind of abandoned. If they charge per hour, they need to take better care of the courts.
We will definitely come back here, the staff was very nice and helpful and made us feel like at home.

Spent our stay here as a couple. I’m amazed with the view since it’s very close to the beach. The room is clean and spacious compared to the normal hotel size in Japan. We have free breakfast to all our mornings and Food was great with a lot of variety to choose from. Pool is big and if you decided to go to the beach you may do so since it’s just a 2min walk from the hotel. I’m very satisfied for our 3days stay.

Not bad, not great. It’s missing marks here and there as an Intercontinental hotel. Though it’s clean, the whole building needs a serious revamp. The hallway looks like a hospital. Room door has a gap and you can hear all the noise from the hallway. Overpriced restaurant food is fine but everything tastes like Japanese ready made food, like convenience store food. Staff is polite but not so friendly. There’s no bar for drinks and the cafe closes at 9pm… On the positive side, hotel grounds are beautifully kept and beaches are spectacular. Would not really recommend this hotel until it’s fully refurbished.

A nice weekend diversion full of activities and relaxing moments. I wish we had reserved a bigger room. The staff were practicing English. Some of them seemed new and were struggling at simple things. For example there was a bit of a wait at check in. For some reason only two people were working on Friday afternoon. The hotel seemed well maintained but dated. Maybe decorated in the 1990s. The prices were high for items, but the food was good.

It’s a bit further out - from Naha but it’s a fantastic area to visit. The private beach is great - clear water, gentle waves, shade, and soft white sand. This is one of my favorite place to stay on the Okinawa island. You will want your own car if you are staying here. If you are here with kids, they offer fun DIY craft activities at night time. It’s super fun to do.

READ BEFORE STAYING. Hotel is very dated and has a musky stench throughout it. The smell in the room is very bad. The beds were fine but the flooring is old and almost sticky when stepping on it. The staff are kind but this place is in need of a major renovation. Breakfast buffet was mediocre at best but expensive and hard to get into. 3 star hotel at best because the views are incredible.

The service staff member Lin Yang Syuan was exceptionally friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. He provided us with a thorough introduction to the various services and facilities at the hotel, and even went out of his way to assist us with a room change when we requested. Furthermore, when we made a lunch reservation the next day, he remembered our room number without us mentioning it, delivering service beyond our expectations. We're highly impressed with his service and would like to express our appreciation through this review.

The service was good and the room was clean. Especially the club lounge was very friendly. There was a Korean staff in the club lounge, so I was able to use it more comfortably. Thank you, "Jinkyung Lee". You always greeted me with a smile and showed me the best kindness. Thanks to you, I am going to Okinawa with good memories.

It was a bit disappointed than I expected. They can’t say it is under Intercontinental group. The facility is super old and not well maintained, charged 300 USD per night is unacceptable for this quality. Especially the bathroom and toilet was really smelly and floor carpet has stain everywhere. I won’t go this hotel again. The room view and their hospitality was nice.
Ayumi Takeyama — Google review
At first, we were given a 3rd floor (first floor with rooms) right above the covered hotel entrance, where the sea view is completely obstructed and we saw the entire mouldy rooftop. We asked for a room upgrade and they sent us to another one on the 9th floor with a much better view. So be prepared if the view from your room may not be a direct sea view .
We enjoyed the comfortable beds, both the buffet western style breakfast and Japanese style breakfast, the amazing beach and seaviewy and the onsen area. The staff were also super friendly and helpful when we asked for transportation guide.

Ana intercontinental was and currently is (I still have another 2 days here) an experience like no other. Even with overcast I'm having the most relaxing beautiful time imaginable.
The service of the Japanese is already world class but okinawa takes it up another notch. But what surprised me the most was how reasonable the pricing was. 1700 yen (15 cad around 11 usd) gets you 4 club sandwiches a bunch of potato wedges and a bunch of tortilla chips i had to split it with my wife the value is real. 75 bucks gets you dinner and a fantastic show and all you can drink for around 2 hours.
Great value. Amazing service.

The resort is amazing and beautiful. We had the best massages I’ve ever had. We painted ceramics which was a lot of fun. My only complaint is the dinner buffet. While the breakfast buffet had some vegetarian options the dinner had none. It was very discouraging as it was our last night. They had a separate menu but plenty of the options could have just been added to the buffet such as the pasta and PLAIN pizza otherwise it’s very affordable.
Grace Nicosia — Google review
The only redeeming aspects were the breakfast, the reliable WiFi, and the comfortable bed, okay view from the top rooms.
Disliked · Firstly, the hotel itself is very old, with aging facilities and outdated amenities. The rooms reflected this age, lacking modern comforts and falling short of the expectations set by the price charged for accommodation.
Renting a bike from the resort is extremely expensive and we opted walking instead.
During winter, both pools were closed. While the onsen provided a nice alternative, the limited availability of recreational facilities during this time was disappointing.
Also, both resort's restaurants are very expensive, there are far better dining options just outside the resort.
Not worth the price, would not come back.

Make no mistake, this is an aging three to four star resort on Okinawa, but the staff try so hard to make the experience lively and interesting, from very good service, entertainment and waterfront experiences. It was ideal during the pandemic period because we basically shared the resort with mostly locals.

I booked ANA InterContinental Manza Beach Resort for my honeymoon on May 2023. Overall, my husband and I were super impressed by the customer service and hospitality we received during our stay! Unfortunately, it was hurricane season when we visited, so we weren't able to participate in all the activities in the resort as some of the water activities were cancelled. However, the private beach was great and the views from the resort were breathtaking. We were extremely grateful for the generous room upgrade for our special occasion! The only downside was that we found the food a bit expensive especially with the limited options available. But I would still recommend this resort as we had such a memorable experience.

Great beach. Great pool. Lovely staff. Being able to go to the inflatable water park, the sea or the pool was amazing. The staff in the exec lounge are wonderful. Housekeeping was a bit sloppy. Not always left with enough towels or water or rooms cleaned very late in the day.

Although we didn't stay at their fantastic hotel, we enjoyed their beautiful beach, the floating Ocean Park and their Beach Cafe - all of which I give 10/10. Our experience was one to remember, and although exhausting, only in the best ways. We stayed all day, renting their umbrella and chair set, and thoroughly enjoyed both the floating course and the swimming areas. The walk to the hotel was delightful, and the hotel itself seemed very inviting. Our lunch at the Cafe was absolutely incredible, and we will certainly return at our next opportunity to take advantage of all the many recreations this beautiful resort has to offer.

Amazing hotel, amazing hospitality. The rooms, views, beach, pool, food is all crazy awesome. Found ample vegetarian options.
The water is truly aquamarine blue.
The shuttle bus from the airport drops you at the porch-super convenient.
Heading back to the airport needs a taxi and may cost 12000 yen.
Quite far from the main city, Naha. So unless you have rented a car, it’s a stay in the hotel and do nothing holiday which we loved.

The location and the private beach itself is great even though not many restaurants nearby. I also have to positively mention the foreign workers, they are doing a great job helping guests out. However it feels like 90% of the Japanese workers can’t understand even simple English which is very surprising for an intercontinental hotel … it makes communicating a real pain. Especially since we came with a baby and they wouldn’t let us park nearby but asked us to park at the entrance and take the shuttle. Obviously they don’t have a baby seat and it’s annoying to get the baby stroller in and out. After insisting they let us park at the hotel parking but even then further away and they keep the “good” parking right upfront the hotel for their own cars. Really disappointed by the service and management of the Japanese staff not very child friendly.
Also I’m disappointed by the maintenance of the rooms. The tables looked quite horrendous for n IHG hotel see for yourself in the pictures. Also the toilet had a terrible smell, it should really be serviced. What I also dislike is the mini fridge in the room which is not only not cold but fully stuffed with mini bar stuff to leave you no room for your own things.
The only things we liked is the nice foreign staff, good breakfast and nice beach.
I would not come again and not recommend it to others.
Next time I will stay at a nicer hotel for less cost.
edit
Today I came back to my room and they even forgot to do the bed sheets… lost of words, they managed to only change the towels and trash and not touch the bed. Just have a look at it yourself in the pics how the service left the bed.

As Aqua Belle and Ocean cafe's kitchen is the same, a hotel staff kindly offered us to have a la carte manu at Aqua Belle even though they usually serve a buffet dinner.
However, we are extremely disappointed with this restaurant.
All cooked dishes are effortless cooking, super salty and I must say that it is much better cooked by myself.
I do not recommend having dinner here.
It is a beautiful beach. Even you're not guest of the hotel you can experience various marine activities they offer. Due to weather condition I was not able to try the zip line. This is the best beach to start snorkeling. Often lots to see and easy to access.
We brought our paddle board to use for floatation while snorkeling with our kid.
Nice beach, small netted area for kids. There was a large tall swing that was pretty and good for picture taking. The water and beach was very well kept, but the parking was not the greatest. Mainly due to construction. Overall 5/5 💖

Such a fun beach! Bathrooms, covered patio with picnic tables, ocean activities and plenty of parking available. During swim season, you’re able to swim in a netted area. It doesn’t keep everything out (saw a few fish swim in and out along the perimeter of the net) but we had no issues. Our kids found a small clownfish family swimming in an anemone! A lifeguard is on duty during this time.
We’ve gone a few times during the off season and have still had fun. No lifeguards on duty during the winter. There’s a small jetty to the left of the beach that has a spot for a photo op, and there’s a large swing for photos too (unable to swing, it’s secured to the ground). Further down the beach are some rocky areas, great for exploring. I’d definitely recommend some water shoes/felt bottoms to help protect your feet if you’ll be in that area.
We did one of their ocean activities (raft towed by jet ski) and our son had a lot of fun. Staff was kind and made sure he was comfortable.
There is a small playground nearby. Definitely better for younger kids (my 4 year olds had fun).
Definitely a fun beach to visit if you get a chance. Easy to find too!

This seems like a nice quiet beach to visit. No lifeguard was visible however and recently a local man drowned trying to assist tourists in danger at a nearby beach located in Onna Son. It would be wise, to have someone visibly looking over travelers at a beach. Lifeguards and lifesaving equipment should be required at all beaches in Okinawa.

Nice family beach. The swim area is netted off and the water isn’t very deep. Beach was not busy at all. Check the tide before heading to the beach. They have a banana boat, a float that is pulled by a jet ski and kayaks with clear bottoms so you can see below you. We brought our own kayak but they are not allowed here, neither are paddle boards or bbq grills. If snorkeling you must wear a life vest. parking is free and plenty of spots.

Cute community beach and free to enter/park. The beach is beautiful and clean. Have clean shower room and toilet. There are tables to sit and relax. Small free public beach. However, the sand and water are both quite rocky. The sectioned off region is also really small and hard to swim since it's so shallow. Recommend wearing sandals/water shoes while here. There is a cool little island a bit into the water you can basically walk to.

We stayed in Onna village last year and enjoyed this beach, the snorkelling and banana boat experience. We came back to this beach even though we were staying 50 minutes North by car in Motobu, because there are so many fish and the water is so clear. The larger bay at Motobu allowed sand to be swirlled up by the wind, I think, but the bay here is protected by Manzamo and another peninsula so the water is much clearer. That said, the small cordoned off beach area here, with lifeguard is just boring sand. You still have to venture out at least 50 metres to see fish and coral, which I did on my own from the port side of the rocks enclosing the south side of the lifeguard protected beach. With no lifeguard to protect me, I wear swim shoes, a wetsuit and a self-inflating waist-mounted personal flotation device from aliexpress. No one else ventures out alone it seems, and there are dangers, but if you do, it is like swimming in a crystal clear aquarium with loads of colourful fish. The restaurant above the marine sports place is very good and not all that expensive too. I had the tofu soup with rice and a little sushi for 900 yen. My wife had a mini lobster or giant prawn lunch for 1700 yen. The photo was taken from the restaurant. The banana boat and snorkelling experience is very good but a bit pricey (8000 per person)so I would not have done it if I were not with my children.

This is a beautiful beach located within Hotel Monterey Okinawa Spa & Resort.
The parking lot is located on the first floor of the building immediately after entering the hotel grounds, and even if you are not a guest, you can park for 500 yen.
If you are not a hotel guest, you can use the beach for free, but there is a 1,000 yen fee per person to use the facilities such as showers.
The beach has jellyfish prevention nets and many rental items for a fee, so I think you can play comfortably.

very nice lunch at their beach club restaurant, The BBQ was delicious and cooking facilities very good, service also was fine, nice place to dine and have lunch with a view. only suggestion is for the service team to monitor the gas/heat as it became very hot and I had to turn it off myself

Beautiful long sand beach. Umbrellas and seats are on charge, Toilets and shower are for free available at Monterey Hotel.
Snorkeling is not very interesting over here.

Private beach within the hotel.
I went because it was open to non-guests.
You can use the parking lot for 500 yen and the parasol for 2,200 yen (I think...) for one day. If you have a parking permit and a receipt for the umbrella, you can go to another place and re-enter in the evening, which is nice.
There weren't many people in the morning, so it was quiet. The staff were also very polite and it was a fun time!

On this Okinawa trip (June 2021), we stayed for 2 nights at Monterey Okinawa.
Tiger Beach is said to be a natural beach, and I really like the calm sea, its beautiful colors, and its transparency.
And I watched it from my room.
The sandy beach of Tiger Beach is also beautiful, and although there is a charge for umbrellas, it was fun just to take a walk.
When you get off the hotel elevator, you'll find yourself on the beach.
I think it's the best location! ! !

I went in early April.
The wind was so strong that it was impossible to read or take a nap on the beach. The sandy beach is a mixture of small grained stones.
The sea was very clear and beautiful. There are almost no waves, so it's good for playing, but the board in SUP yoga shakes quite a bit, which may affect people who get seasick.

サンセットがとても美しいです。沈む夕陽を見ながら海岸線を歩くだけで映画のシーンのようです。
アクティビティも充実してますが、コロナ禍で利用者は少ないようでした。

The sunset is very beautiful. Just walking along the coastline while watching the sunset is like a scene from a movie.
There are plenty of activities, but there seemed to be few users due to the coronavirus pandemic.

This beach has been around for a long time, and although it was temporarily closed, it was renovated when Hotel Monterey opened. It may seem like a private beach, but all beaches in Japan are state-owned land, and Okinawa Prefecture regulations require that there be a passageway to the beach. Anyone can use the beach.

We (parents and 12 year old) visited in late March of this year. Parking was easy and it was a short walk to the ticket office, wetsuit rental and change rooms. Wetsuits were clean and in good condition. Some people used the course with just swimsuits, but we wanted to spend several hours and thought we would get cold over time. The air was about 22 degrees and the water about 20. The course has several lifeguards. It was FANTASTIC. We can't wait to go again. Absolutely an amazing, fun, exhausting time

We really enjoyed the obstacle course. As many have said, it is fun but also challenging the older you get….haha. Great staff, many chairs and umbrellas to rent, showers, lockers, and restrooms all on site. Many restaurants that open later in the evenings. This place is worth a little adventure with your family or friends. There are some good deals for SOFA members from the installations ITT programs that make the experience more affordable for larger families and you get a meal included with this tickets. Enjoy.

Thanks for everyone's reviews, which helped us decide to come here and prepare for what to expect. Generally agree with everyone's comments.
Pros: beautiful, perfect for young children, organized, clean, crowd is well managed, very safe (saw lifeguards everywhere), entry fee allows access all day (similar places in the U.S. charge by the hour)
Cons: agree with the comments that it's expensive (but very comparable to similar places in the U.S.), umbrellas and chairs charged separately, need to get here early to reserve a spot (grant it, we came on a Saturday), a lot of rules (good luck if you're a parent with kids under 12 and expecting to relax - kids under 12 need to be accompanied by an adult in the water).
Overall, highly recommend for families that don't mind splurging.

This beach is absolutely gorgeous. The staff from the hotel were very nice and accommodating even though we weren't staying there.

¥3,500 seems like a lot, but this place is FUN. Exciting inflatables are more challenging than they look and adventure comes naturally. Beach is gorgeous, free parking, decent showers in the changing area and lifeguard covered swim areas available. You can use the parasols too. Staff super friendly. Get here early and spend the day. Glad we took the plunge

It was a fun experience. The whole family loved jumping on the inflatables. On the other hand, the ticket price is a little expensive. And the inflatables are a little far from the shore. You have to swim against the current before you could reach them.
The best part is, there’s a nearby restaurant, Salvatore Cuomo & Bar, which, surprisingly, is a good Italian restaurant.

Nice beach and water. A lot of activities proposed. Restaurants and cafe, pool and etc. Nice snorkeling around!
(+) Beautiful stretch of beach / coastline.
(+) Easy access from sidewalk.
(+) Unattended in winter (off season), so perfect place for swimming or sunbathing if you're staying at a nearby resort that has the No Swimming winter rule.
(+) Free of charge.
(+) Seems to be part of Okinawa Coast Quasi-National Park
(-) NO signs indicating that it's Tiger Beach.
(-) Unclear how much of it is public and what "belongs" to Hotel Monterey
(-) No bathrooms or any facilities (showers, changing rooms, etc.)
C Murasaki — Google review
There are almost no visitors during off season, from time to time you can see a few people catching some fish. 🎣
At the western end is a hotel with some beach chairs and a little further is a nature-protected area. 🐾

Beautiful place to merge in mother nature. Forget all the worries of this world and enjoy the sound of water waves with beautiful sunsets..

Of course I prefer the tiger Beach of old. My family and I spent many years on this beach over the last thirty something years. We use to have a week-long party every fourth of July for many years before they tore down the original Resort. This was the last local Resort on Okinawa. Now there are no more local resorts, they're all for the tourist with no local rates!

One of the best beach near Onna-son on fuchaku. The moonbeach hotel provide free of cost swimming space secured by net to avoid any kind of complexity due to Jelly Fish.

Mainly targetted at tourists, with activities and facilities that you need to pay for. Has life guard at designated swimming areas. Has basic shower facilties though.

It would have been a lot more enjoyable if there was some shade and a nice recliner. However, it's a FREE beach so beggars can't be choosers.

Good town beach with free of charge entrance. It's better to swim after 5 pm though, the water stinks in the first part of a day.
Should be romantic to see this heart-shaped rock from the view at Manzamo. a walk on the beach while viewing the sight would be nice also... (however i had no partner while visiting.... #cries#)

The problem is that you are not allowed to swim here - we were stopped by security. They told us that swimming outside of the nets is forbidden because of jellyfish... however it's clearly because the boat companies want to maintain their exclusive access to this site.

It is characterized by a rope hanging between two rocks side by side.
Because it is in the bay, the waves are often calm.
It seems that glass boat tours from nearby hotels and coral farming are also held in this area.
You can enjoy a very beautiful landscape with the unique rocks and the sea and topography typical of Okinawa.
