Located in Palawan, the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park is a mountainous national park known for its 5-mile underground river and caves with boat tours. With an intricate cave system and formations of stalactites and stalagmites, the Underground River has an eerie feeling that tourists love. The tingling sensation it brings along with cool water is a must-try!
A breathtaking view from outside and inside the cave! You will be amazed of how the place is beautiful. You will really appreciate the place if you are a nature-lover! 😍

Nice experience. You have to take a small boat to get there, then walk to the entrance of the cave after checking in, then you ride another boat for the tour. It was really interesting and nice to experience. There is an audio guide and the one paddling the boat will also point out some thing during the tour. Be careful with the monkeys. They will really snatch your food and drinks if they see it.

Great adventure! I went there with my boyfriend and we will always remember this experience. You get there by boat in groups and then you walk along the beach and get to the entrance and then onto another little lower boat. You are able to go thought the cave and hear all the bats and see the old rocks. You are surrounded by nature, beach and caves, it's just amazing. After we enjoyed a nice buffet organised by our tour company. Remember to get a waterproof bag to keep your things safe from water.

If you are visiting the Philippines then you should add this destination to your travel plan, turquoise blue water, close to nature and formations to watch out for during your boat ride going to the underground river. Be aware of the bats hanging on the cave walls.

Must see! This is an experience you shouldn't miss if you're visiting Puerto Prinsesa, Palawan. Our group searched for a tour package on Facebook, and we paid P1850/head (excluding environmental fees). This includes the van transfer back and forth from your hotel/lodge to the Sabang Pier. The boat ride from the pier to the beach going to the cave is approx 15 minutes. There are many beautiful rock formations inside the cave. The bats are everywhere, and the possibility of getting a bat pee or a stalactite juice dripping is high. It is worth of your money! I'm thrilled that I got a chance to see one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature upclose and personal. 👌
Before I forget, there's a buffet lunch 🫰

Beautifully cool. The best thing was hiring a taxi driver all day
He waited for us at the cave.
A refreshing boat ride.
A cool cave
And nice ride back.
Beautiful island. It's worth it.

Holy cow. Astonishingly beautiful this place. It's everything and some more. The clear blue waters, the cave structures, and the overall experience is just surreal. Just be careful about the monkeys though, they snatch cellophanes and any other things they might perceive as food.

Natural rock formation over the years. Cave occupants: bats - small as 1m. Underground River -8km and some parts are not discovered yet.
Audio device is provided throughout the underground River tour
Monkey’s wildlife at the park before you reach the cave. (Keep your food secure as to not pique with ‘em curiosity…)
Recommend to book a tour for convenience, the zip line add on for the tour is good for adrenaline junkies, for those who have fear of heights no worries… you may enjoy the beautiful white sand, clear water beach for a while… there’s toilet on the far side (if you want to go swimming for a bit while waiting - it’ll take like an hour as I remembered ) and stalls at the entrance (refreshments and snacks).
Note: the road is a bit rocky on some parts.

I'm writing a review for the park and the tour operated by RYLE ASHER. Please be advised that when you read reviews, you are mainly reading about the tour operator. Complaints about waiting around, bad food, etc is the result of the tour operator. Pick a great tour operator and your experience will be amazing! Again, I went with RYLE ASHER tours. It was wonderful. From the pier you take a small catamaran to the entrance to the park. The catamaran is loud, so if you are sensitive to sounds, bring ear plugs. The views were stunning on the small boat. Once at the shore, you will receive your hard hat and make very simple 5-minute hike to queue up to go into the caves. There are restrooms at the pier and the shore. Once you make it to queue for the cave, there are no more bathrooms. You will get into another small boat, approximately 6-8 people in each boat. You will receive an audio guide with one headphone. The audio guide will give you lots of information about the cave, its history, and what you are seeing inside. The boat operator is also trained to share certain comments and jokes. Most of the time, the boat operator's comments sync up with the audio guide. The rules for the tour are simple. Keep quiet (too much sound affects the bats' ability to move around - echolocation), keep your mouth closed (bat droppings), avoid looking straight up for very long (bat droppings). Being in the cave, floating along, hearing and seeing the bats, seeing the formations - it was really amazing. At times, it was a little scary. I can't lie, but just keep breathing and remembering that they bring hundreds of people through this very same tour every day. You will travel into the cave about 20 minutes and then turn around to travel back to the entrance. What you see on the return is very different than what you see going in. Once back to dry ground, you can visit the restrooms again, take a look at the photos they snapped of your group and decide if you want to buy them. Then, it's back to the catamaran and back to the pier. I wore flip-flops that were a bit too big for me. They kept falling off. I recommend water shoes or a bit more tighter fitting sandal. Do not wear socks and shoes though as you need to wade in water to get in and out of the boats. Again, pick a good tour company and your experience will be great!

Very cool experience to see inside this surreal cave system. A bit smelly, and thought I was being pooped on by birds/bats a few times but alas it was just water dripping from above.
The guide and the audio recording were a bit "meh" with regards to the history or much interesting information, most of it was about what they've named the formations.
All in all it was a pretty good tour, but don't expect it to be filled with interesting info about what you're seeing.
Eric MacDonald — Google review
This experience is truly wonderful. The tourist are not allowed to speak or make any noises in the cave to preserve the ecosystem which is fully understandable and has to be respected. Yet it was annoying that the boatman was talking and whistling the whole time we were inside even though we had the headphones in, so his talking was not useful and he didn’t respect the rules at all. Also on the way there you can see a lot of monkeys which is awesome just be careful with your belongings, they are very smart😄

One of the most unique, astonishing, magical places Ive ever been. The tour is accompanied by the chirping of thousands of bats echo locating.

I'm glad I went, but wouldn't recommend if you have a tight schedule for other tourist activities.
The whole place was VERY touristy. We prearranged a van to pick us up from our hotel. The drive was estimated 2 hrs. But they stopped at a zip line park without any warning or explanation. We did not participate as we only had planned for the underground river. We didnt want to hike in flip flops. Other travelers who went on the zip line and cave hike said that it would be difficult for anyone tall or big.
We ate at the outdoor filipino buffet restaurant (cost included in underground river tickets) before our tour. It was good considering the mass amount of people they were feeding.
There were lots of people waiting at the Port. Then lots of people at the beach. Then lots at the lagoon. Each boat that took you to the island sat 6 people. The boat ride was enjoyable, but you definitely can get wet from the waves. You take another boat to get to the cave, where they give you hard hats to wear.
There are bathrooms on the island, but they are not western style.
Beware of monkeys, snakes, and bats.

A must visit if you're on Palawan. It's a UNESCO world heritage site and part of the new 7 wonders of nature. It's about a 15-20 small boat ride to get to the landing area.
They'll warn you about the monkeys who can be aggressive or take small electronics. As long as you don't look them in the eye and keep walking, they'll leave you alone. They'll give you a number and call it when it's your turn. Underground River tour is about 45 minutes round trip. They give you a great narrative and turn the flashlights on and off to point out different highlights. It's impressive how dark it is when they turn off the flashlights. There's a lot of bats inside, don't look up with your mouth open.
Highly recommend this tour.

The place is very magical and enchanting.
I just hope that the local and national government will continue protecting this wonderful national park.
The ambiance of this place is very mesmerizing and jaw-dropping.
Be careful with your belongings as macaques are present within the area.
Maintain silence because you might disrupt the animals existing in the cave system.
Audio recorded tour is available for all visitors, including Koreans, Chinese, Japanese nationals.
Better come earlier so as not to join the hordes of tourists who constantly flock the site.
Expect a tinge of smell as you pass the cave system as there are a lot of bats inside. Help the locals by giving extra tip for their good tour guiding.
There's a photographer who takes a lot of photos. At the end of the tour, you can claim the pictures for a price. Don't worry, they take a lot of great photos that you can choose from. But if you prefer, you can bring your phone but avoid putting it in flash mode as you might disturb the animals inside the cave system.
You will be seeing a lot of stalagmites and stalactites that resemble fruits, vegetables, church figures, etc. Enjoy Palawan!

I can't say enough positive things about this National Park. It's truly a spectacular place and one of the most impressive natural wonders I've seen.
Located on the western coast of Palawan, it's home to the world's longest navigable underground river, which is an incredible sight to behold. The river winds through a maze of limestone caves, and the walls are adorned with all sorts of stalactites and stalagmites.
In addition to the underground river, the park is also home to a variety of other attractions, including a beautiful cave system, a pristine rainforest, and a number of endangered species.
I highly recommend visiting if you ever have the opportunity. It's an unforgettable experience.
Here are some of the things I loved:
The underground river is truly amazing. It's hard to believe that something so cavernous and beautiful can exist underground.
The park is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including monkeys, birds, and bats.
The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and they help make the most of your visit.
The park is well-maintained and easy to get around.
Here are some tips for planning:
Wear comfortable shoes and clothing that you don't mind getting wet.
Allow at least 2 hours for your visit.

One of the most unique experiences I've tried so far. Imagine spelunking but you are on a boat. I was amazed by nature's beauty and how it coalesced into this spectacular wonder. It was scary especially at the start because you are entering a completely dark place with the light just coming from the bankers' head lamps. You will also smell the urine/guano-filled air because of the thousands of bats who live in the cave. But you'll be amazed by how big the cave is and nature's sculptures inside (the stalactites). The tour was also well-organized. 5/5

Imagine exploring the breathtaking 7 wonders of the natural world! It's truly an experience like no other. However, be careful not to feed the monkeys or leave your belongings unattended as these curious creatures may sneak up on you and steal your things. It's a wild adventure with many monkey families living in the area, but with caution, it's an unforgettable journey!

Voted one of the 7 wonders of the world!
A Subterranean River surrounded by limestone formations! It's like spelunking but now you are comfortably seated in a canoe rowed by a professional boatman. There is an audio guide while you tour the river, and the pace coordinates with the rowing. The boatman will also shine his torch on notable features. Enjoy the chapel and the market, and remember not to speak to avoid noise disturbances in this fragile environment and not touch the formations! Don't open your mouth either when you look up, unless you would like to taste some bat poop.
Gotta take a larger boat from Sabang Terminal to transfer to the canoe here. Very peaceful place. Love it.

I would not recommend you to bypass this wonder of nature! Which, by the way, is one of the Seven Natural Wonders! Everything is well organized : pickup van, banka boat to the river, then paddling boat with audio guide (english, french, spanish and probably more)
The cave is amazing to visit !

This place is amazing, best cave formations you will see in South East Asia! Magical subterranean river, peaceful boat ride, fantastic and scary rock formations, almost a religious experience entering the cave and floating deeper and deeper into the mountain void in darkness....
We were 4 friends, organized the trip by ourselves, we arrived by a car. The waiting time by the office ticket was insane, guides with big groups arriving all the time and coming to the front of the queue... What a waste of our time!
After you stand in one queue to get your names registered, you then get to second queue to pay for the tickets, and then third queue to get onto the boat, what a mess. We waited for hours and hours.
The boat ride was a bit rough and loud, there were big waves but it was safe. Arriving at the destination, it became more organized, our names called to enter a smaller, silent boat with a guide and audio recording. All worked smoothly for when you enter the boat, so good luck and good patience for everyone who decides to organize the seeing themselves. All in all, it is indeed worth all the hazle to spend one hour on a different under mountain world, maybe go with a group tour instead.

The Puerto Princesa Subterranean River is a breathtaking marvel nestled within a vibrant national park that's teeming with wildlife. From playful monkeys to mysterious bats, the biodiversity here adds an extra layer of excitement to the visit. The cave itself is a highlight, with its majestic formations that promise awe-inspiring views at every turn. The park is exceptionally well-managed, with organized tours that ensure a smooth and informative experience for visitors. This careful planning helps preserve the natural beauty of the cave while making it accessible to tourists.
Nagtabon is a popular beach in Puerto Princesa City that is perfect for spending a day by the water. The locals love going to this beach to sunbathe and catch some waves, and it can be quiet and peaceful on weekdays.

Free beach , just a fantastic beach with everything you could ask for. The curved beach is lined with Palm trees , soft off white sand , crystal clear water that’s quite shallow for about 50m and it’s all sand and no seaweed/ coral rock under foot.
Great little shop that does superb mango shakes . There’s surf board and SUP hire and a kite surf business. No surf on our arrival as it’s mid summer so the sea was lovely and flat. A proper stunning Philippino beach , snorkelling area at either side of the bay- No jellyfish seen

I would advice to go here early in the morning to get a tour during peak seasons. A lot of tourists are in this place.

Nice overall experience. Our tour guide Raquel was very knowledgeable, warm and attentive to all our needs. As well as our van driver and Kuya bangkeros especially Patrick who helped us everytime with our bags. Lunch at Starfish Island was yummy with mostly grilled options, fish, shrimps and liempo. There's a small market for some seafood which they can actually cook for you. We had fruits for dessert with their local yellow sweet watermelon and pineapple. Bring a lot of sunblock, wide brimmed hats and your own cold water if possible as the heat can really be a beast especially at noon time. Cellphone signal can be intermittent. Luli island was our first stop, it had a small sandbar strip as it was high tide then. There were also floating cottages where you can chill if you choose not to swim. Overall a great experience especially seeing the crystal blue waters plus the fine sand of Cowrie island, the most beautiful and biggest of the 3.

A good day out with the family, lots of fun activities for the kids and beaches for parents to relax on. Not the best islands in Palawan because of the higher volume on tourists but still beautiful, don't expect reefs or colourful corals.

If you like an easy simple tour, this bay tour is for you. Which you can also snorkel. Guide brought us first to a rental place for gears. You’ll have to see it for yourself tho, what view you can see beneath the water or, on or around the islands/sandbars the guide will bring you to.
Personally I’d have preferred just one island, ie. Starfish or Cowrie. I’d have enjoyed more staying in one island for a few hours. We didn’t get to go to Starfish because somehow it was scratched from the itinerary. My sister’s friends knew about it but naturally we didn’t know which is which. Until we saw pictures online. Hence the two star review. And because we could’ve gotten a cheaper per pax at our own hotel.
For serious snorkelling, some online reviewers prefer the northern part of Palawan.
I hope they improve the wharf toilets. It was dirty and needed flushing, but no water even from the tap. Just a half pail of water to wash hands I suppose.

Nice the other 2 Luli island and the last island we visit is Cowrie Island but the lunch buffet was poor, just to fill the tummy!

Nothing special. So-so snorkeling, average food for the tour and one island without anything to do if you don't pay extra (well, yes you can walk around, swim and sunbath). I didn't end up the trip super exited about it and it seems that the inicial price changes so much because of all the extras.
If you decide to do it don't buy the waterproof bag (you won't take it to the water), rent the googles if you don't have or if you are just passing by. Don't need to rent the shoes if you have good ones. It is important you remember your tower but if not the guide will lead you to a shop to rent one as well.
Sabang Beach is a small, tropical beach located in the midst of jungle. It has palm trees nearby and is adjacent to lodging and mountain views.
Nice friendly place. The only thing is there’s a lot of dried seaweeds on the shore and even on the water but doesn’t matter for me.
Leizel — Google review
Sabang Beach, compared to other beaches in the Philippines, is relatively average. It lacks a reef, snorkeling, or diving opportunities in the area. The restaurants tend to be overpriced, and the food is passable at best. There are only two non-backpacker resorts available, both costing over 100 USD per night. Unless you're looking for a quiet retreat on a somewhat ordinary beach or staying overnight in transit, there isn't much reason to linger here. Most visitors may find themselves getting bored after spending more than a night. It might be better to head straight to El Nido for a more vibrant and diverse experience.

The place ignites your adventurous side.
The Ugong Rock Formation is a cave system that leads you all the way to the top, where the zipline awaits you.
Better wear shirts and shorts in order to prevent difficulty while climbing the jagged and sometimes slippery rocks.
The place is called Ugong because of its distinct sound that it's creating when you tap/strike the rock formations there.
The locals of the area formed a cooperative in order to provide livelihood for all of them.
The tour guides are locals themselves, so they are already familiar to the place. They know what they do.
Ziplining is a thrilling ride once you go up the top of the rock formation. The ziplining is not for the faint-hearted.
There is a photographer that's available in the area and that they can take your picture for a fee.

We have booked our Tour with Budgetariang Lakwatsa and we had a great experience. I'd say book your tour ahead of time so pick up and drop off to Baywalk Park will be accommodated.
Not sure why this place got such a low review. Our experience was magical. The tour also includes a Dinner Buffet and it did not disappoint.
Our tour guide "Dodong" or as he calls himself "handsome" was so friendly and very knowledgeable. He shared some interesting facts about Fireflies while throwing jokes from time to time.
I looked for pictures on Facebook to see if it was worth it to include in our tour packages. I did not see any fireflies on the pictures so I wasn't sure what to expect. When we got there, there were really fireflies! Turns out, their light is just not that visible in the pictures.
I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat..
NOTE that there are two areas for Firefly Watching - Iwahig and Kitu-Kito.

Booked the tour with Maple Travel and Tours. The package includes being picked up from your hotel accommodation/prefered pick up point. Tour starts from the Puerto Princesa City Baywalk during dusk. The boat ride is around 20 minutes but you will not be bored since they have a very lively tour guide that gives a very informational details about Puerto Princesa, Baywalk and the fireflies. Then you will be transferred to another boat to tour the mangroves where the fireflies can be found. It pays to be able to take photos and videos to document the activity especially when your phone is able to take HD photos and videos. The experience with the fireflies is one worth remembering. The tour guide makes you interact with the fireflies which makes the activity very enjoyable and memorable. Before going back to the Baywalk, the guests will be sharing a sumptuous dinner prepared by the staff. The food was good and tummy-filling. Overall the tour was reasonable for its price.

It was one of a kind activity that I am highly recommending others to try. I love how our guide was knowledgeable not only about the fireflies but knows the constellations as well. It was also interesting to know about the plankton that made the wood stick under water light up. We were told that more fireflies are visible in the month of December.

Firefly mangrove river boat tour in night is a unique experience. Tour operator picked us up from the hotel in Puerto Princesa, Palawan to riverside. The tour included a delicious dinner also. Watching jungle full of fireflies is awesome. The boatman explained all the things about fireflies in mangrove and explained how to protect them. No light is allowed in the jungle. Only boatman cum guide has a torch light. Complete darkness is required to keep fireflies at ease. it looked like the trees are decorated with lights for Christmas. It is mesmerizing to watch the fireflies- a memorable experience.

Save your money.
The fireflies are at some trees and react with res light. There are around 8 of those trees in the 10 minutes part of the river where you can see them. Not with the money. I've seen more flyig around in other places and don't expect them to fly around. They are just still on the trees.

Lovely little expeience if you are in Palawan. Peacful on the water and when the guide splashes the bugs they light up and whizz around which is good to see.

The boat ride in the evening was nice but there's no much fireflies during our visit. Try to go on New Moon phase in a nice weather. Very long queues. There were restaurants, our buffet dinner was included in the package tour.-2018
Cowrie Island is the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring Honda Bay. There are facilities for tourists such as small shops and restaurants, making it a great spot for sunset photos or simply chilling out. Rents for tents on the island cost P250 each, providing an affordable option for those looking to getaway from the city.
Very nice restaurant with amazing service! We had the big buffet style meal with pork, fish, fried sea weed, oysters, chicken wings, gravy, sauce and vegetables. The pork was amazing. The sea weed was also very good! Fantastic place to eat and good food.

Cowrie Island nestles a charming island that was named after the small-to-large sea snail, marine gastropod mollusc they call "cowrie.". It was often praised for its picturesque white sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters, and vibrant marine life, making it an ideal spot for snorkeling, swimming, and other water activities. Many visitors appreciated the relaxing atmosphere and the opportunity to unwind in a beautiful natural setting. The island had amenities like cottages, huts, and a bar where visitors could relax and enjoy their time.

Pretty unique place.
There are open showers.
The meals are very local, if you are a westerner you may have a hard time eating the meal included with your tour.
I didn't trust the ice in the iced drinks.
The snorkeling on this island is not good.
There are massages.
There is a sketchy little bar.
You can get a fresh coconut grown on the island.
There are huts and picnic spaces.
You can rent a jet ski.
You can ride a hotdog tube.

Cowrie Island is a small-scale island adorned with sandy beaches all around its coastline, making it a perfect destination to luxuriate in blissful tranquility for a few hours. Encircled by coconut trees, it is highly recommended to dine here. After a satisfying meal, you can take a leisurely stroll or just sit and sip on some refreshing coconut water while gazing at the waves, losing yourself in the simplicity and serenity of it all. The crystal-clear waters are a visual treat, instantly dissipating any stress brought on by city life.
The surrounding shallow waters also make it an ideal spot for children's entertainment.
The above description attempts to capture the idyllic charm of Cowrie Island and encourages visitors to experience its peaceful ambiance and natural beauty.

Cowrie Island is one of the Islands around Honda Bay in Puerto Princesa City situated just a convenient 30-minute or less boat ride from the port. When we had our island hopping tour, we ended at this island where we enjoyed a leisurely lunch and spent the rest of the day before heading back.
𝐂𝐨𝐰𝐫𝐢𝐞 𝐈𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 is an ideal destination for a beach excursion with local or vacationing friends and families. Apart from the white-sand beach and clear waters where you can do water activities, there is also ample ground for various beach activities. There are small to large cottages, a hall, decent shower and changing rooms, and other basic amenities.
For those who prefer to bring their own food, the boat crew is happy to cook it for you. For more information on entrance fees, cottage rentals, boat transportation, and other costs, as well as meal options, be sure to check out their page at Cowrie Island before planning your visit.

The Baywalk is a popular seaside promenade that features palm trees and draws pedestrians, bicyclists, and joggers. It's located in the city of Puerto Princesa and is a great place to walk or bike while taking in the view of the bay. The night market located on the promenade is definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.
We really like coming here in the evening to enjoy the view, food, and music. For children a fun place to rent bikes or tricycles and ride it around. Very safe place and good to relax.

Nice place to come in either the daytime or nighttime. During the day, it's great to take pictures and enjoy the scenery, but the restaurants and vendors aren't open. During the night, you can't see the scenery as well, but all the restaurants and vendors are open.
I personally preferred the evening time as it was very lively with live music, people hanging out by the water, and enjoying the numerous food & drink vendors. There's plenty of seafood and other restaurants to choose from. Afterwards, there's many small vendors selling desserts, fruit shakes, or small snacks. Great place to hang out, have dinner, have dessert, and enjoy the views.

Super loved our stay... Fresh seafood, BBQ, you can stroll along by hiring a bike with a sidecar, people are super friendly and not in your face offering items to sell. They get it if you refuse giving you the luxury to soak the sunset and the great views. There was even a guy playing the recorder that set the mood even more... ☺️👍💗 We really enjoyed the steamed sweet corn, 🌽 the isaw isaw, the toys and balloons...the lady selling bananas is so sweet and if you see her by the balloon vendors... kindly help her out by buying a bunch she reminded me of my late grandma. It was nice talking to her and supporting her business. She stays really late at night selling so you will surely see her as you walk around.

A very good place to visit at night, a place where you can bike around and eat local cuisines. The milk teas and burgers/sandwiches are a must. Beautiful place to visit! People are very friendly and the entire town is easy to navigate. We had an amazing welcome when we got to the port and there are multiple busses, triaclycles, and taxes waiting outside the port. If you have the time, the underground river is a must!

A place worth visiting for a walk along the coast in the late afternoon. There is a parking lot so you can use your own transport Many restaurants offer seafood, but their prices are not competitive with other places. (Quite expensive)You can also choose local street food really cheaply.
Overall, this place is only good for taking a break when you don't know where to go.

The Baywalk was a great way to end a day filled with adventure. The place is a foodie's paradise. There was pizza, ice cream, scramble, fries, and many more. I was not a fan, however, of one of the street children running after, driving towards, and shouting at tourists. I may be wrong but I think the child has special needs and I hope the local authorities can do something to help him and secure the safety and wellbeing of visitors.

Been to bay walk a few times now and it's extremely nice and pleasant. Nice vibe and lots of food and drink venues to use. Locals love it to chill out and relax after work and schools etc. Tourists also enjoy this area.
Nigel Jenkins — Google review
We visited Baywalk twice during our trip. First as a part of the guided city tour and the second was an attempt to view the sunset. It’s best to visit during late afternoon or at night since the venue offers little to no shade from the sun.
There are restaurants and small food stalls there which open during night time. There are also some performers to entertain visitors. Several pay CRs are available within the vicinity if the need arises.
Let me raise a concern regarding the walkway. There is an area (please see picture) which has a slightly elevated flooring that may be considered accident prone since it’s neither marked nor colored differently in contrast to the flat pavement. This and the slightly dim lighting in the area at night may cause potential accidents especially for people who have difficulty in seeing at night.

This is a lovely place to visit especially in the evenings. The place is buzzing with people. I believe this is the go to place for locals who want to meet up with friends and have seafood dinner. It has lots of different restaurants to choose from, some even have live bands performing.
You can also go for a walk or cycle, especially when the weather is pleasant. Lots of pearl vendors too (Badjao people) selling pearls. This is a must see place when in Puerto Princesa. I'll definitely cone back Herr whenever I'm in the area!

Palawan Butterfly Ecological Garden and Tribal Village
The Palawan Butterfly Ecological Garden and Tribal Village showcases the beautiful tropical butterflies of the southern region of the Philippines. The garden promotes environmental awareness with displays of caterpillar pupa, and there is also a variety of endemic wildlife on display like Palawan bearcat, peacock pheasant.
This place is well worth the 50 peso ($1 USD) entrance price. There aren't as many butterflies (or as large a variety) as similar places I've visited, but the establishment is still nice. The price includes a short, somewhat rushed, informational tour, as well as a cultural exhibition from a local tribe. After the tour and exhibition, you are free to wander around the site and view the various small animals, butterflies, and plant life. We rented a motorbike in town and saw this, as well as a few other sights, and I suggest doing the same.

Entrance to this place is 60 pesos. Upon entering, there will be a guide to tour you around the ecological garden which has animals and insects. On the second part is the tribal village, in which there will be demonstration of the natives on their culture. After this, guests have a chance to take photos with the big snake, and the natives’ home. Hard and soft copies of the picture can be purchased upon exit.

Interesting place both for kids and kids at heart. This place is a learning tool of how insects (such as butterfly, which the name of the place suggest :) helps our ecosystem. There are also other insects and animals found inside this place. I also like it, that they teach people how tribes live and how they survive everyday living using old but reliable methods. Here, is a snake which people can touch and have a photograph with it.
Entrance includes a fee and a guide.
Photographs are available inside, by your discretion (price Php200.00 per photo).

This was something different to see. First we went up to the tribal village and watched some demonstrations by them which was cool. Then they offered photos with them but I didn't really feel comfy doing it or with their pet python. The butterfly enclosure was nice and there's afew other animals you can walk around and see.

Pretty compact but full of interesting stuff, which goes well beyond the butterflies. All the creepy crawlies really were an interesting surprise for me, especially when the guide (free) said "would you like to hold a scorpion 🦂?" Damn right I would 😀.
The tribal area was interesting also, I was worried it would be a push to sell stuff, but it wasn't at all.
One price for all. Think it was 60php

Palwan Butterfly and Ecological Garden is an experience and one recalls the phrase "Butterflies are Beautiful "
which is also viewed with the Tribal village..
Ad we had visited in end February and the it was hot we were informed that the butterflies had retreated and cold be seen hidden in the plants and under leaves A notice is also installed which is explained the behavior of the butterflies and the animals when experiencing hot and uncomfortable weather..
However at the entry is Palwan Peacock Pheasant which is characterized by colorful feathers and vibrant wings that are exhibited during the mating season..to attract the female birds.
The Tribal village showcases the cultural life of the original inhabitants of Palawan namely the Palaw'an as the people are called
The first exhibits explain the hard life and the basket design which is to be mounted on the head so that the hands are free to pluck fruits or produce and store in the bamboo basket
There is a display of original drums, stringed Instruments one like the guitar and the other like a long violin called kudyapi together with a stringed instrument using the mouth as resonator and pulling on the strings with the fore and middle fingerA flute is also used in the demonstration.
A short melody is played along with singing which is a calming and serene tune..
A short demonstration of starting a fire using flint stones .For hunting Palw'an using a blow gun consisting of a bamboo pipe with iron tip or poisoned snake venom tip to stun the bird or small animals being hunted.Generally these are powerful and some designs with bamboo lengths exceeding 15 feet can send a dart for over 60 yards or we were informed..
Finally there is a 8feet tame python which people can wrap around their neck and take pictures of their memories of the park which is a must visit place

Palawan Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Center (Crocodile Farm)
The Palawan Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Center is a breeding and research center for Philippine Crocodiles, as well as the home of endangered animals of the Philippines. The center features various aviaries where you can see different types of birds, as well as the crocodile farm where you can see dozens of large and small crocodiles.
This is my second visit to the Palawan wildlife rescue center. I am happy to see that it has improved since our last visit. The crocodiles seem to be well taken cared of. You will learn about crocodiles in the Philippines and why they should be protected. Despite their reputation, crocodiles are actually vulnerable because of human activities that displace them from their natural habitat. Our tour guide during our visit was very nervous because it was his first tour but we really appreciated his honesty and effort to give the best tour for his guests. I miss their other attractions though but you can still hold a juvenile crocodile for an additional fee of P100. This attraction is part of our city tour that we booked from an agency called Byahero. We had a very smooth transaction, reservation, and well-organized trips from them.

Overall I enjoyed it, oh but the serpent eagles need to be released, they're in a real sorry state.

For the of $3 US paid for 3 adults and 1 child. This experience is a must! It's very much affordable for travelers and tourist. I have never been to a crocodile farm before, glad I was educated on their mission and hard work. See baby crocodiles to adults was somewhat trilling to be close to these dinosaur age creatures. The stories they shared from the adult ones - captured because it was injured or has even eaten human. Wow! The walk around the park is nice, wish it was longer with more paths.
If you want to support this place, highly recommend it! It helps keep the program afloat!

One of my interests in The Philippines is right here in Puerto Princesa and that is the crocodile farm/exhibit. Not to spoil the show for others I felt some pity for the animals. Small pools for some giant reptiles. The tanks with the baby crocodiles were OK. But the bigger animals need more room. The other parts if the park were interesting. Monkeys and a bear cat and the friendly pigs.

The 5 star rating is only for the animals. The maintenance of the enclosures only gets one star.
The animals of the crocodile farm have already seen better times. The crocodile farm is best preserved. The snake enclosures of the three phytons look terribly neglected. Likewise the birds are unkempt. Some of the birds are not exhibited. The ways are in poor condition. It is actually sad to encounter the exhibited animals of Palawan in this way.

I just hope people will visit here to help in improving the enclosures
Massive crocodiles to behold. I won't post their actual photos. More animals to view inside. Di ko lang nakuhanan lahat. Might just urge you to visit the place instead. 🙂

This was the first stop on our Puerto Princessa "CITY TOUR." I am taking away one star because the facilities were quite dirty and depressing, and I hate seeing animals in isolation as I don't think it's good for their mental health. The large crocodiles were all in isolation. Otherwise, it was interesting and rich in history and culture. I just think they need to take better care of the facilities. On the scheduled tour walk-through, you will see the huge crocodile skeleton and hide, the hatchlings house, and the large crocodiles in their cages. Then, you can explore the wildlife area which has other animals (all in enclosures) and lush plant life. You can also pay PHP$60 to hold a baby crocodile.

They have tours throughout the day and give you lots of good information, I learned a lot about Philippine crocodiles. They have both fresh water and salt water crocs. The salt water Crocs used to be all around the Philippines. They have a breeding program and release into northern Luzon and Mindanao. They can be found currently in southern Palawan. All the big ones in captivity have a story behind them, one bit a guys leg of, another was busy eating dogs. They have other animals too and a little wildlife trail, it's nice but but needs work.

You’ll mostly see crocodiles here. They’re probably going to end up being the biggest ones you’ll see in your life. The guide was educational. There’s also a small conservation area at the back, but it isn’t exciting. After the whole tour, you have the option of holding a baby crocodile for ₱60 (~$1.20).

The knowledgeable staff and the center's commitment to conservation make it a must-visit for those seeking both enjoyment and awareness about our precious wildlife.

The Palawan Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Center, or Crocodile Farm, is a captivating place to explore. You'll encounter not only crocodiles but also rescued pythons, birds, and a chance to see crocodile hatchlings in the incubation area. It's a must-visit for nature and wildlife enthusiasts, offering a unique blend of conservation and education.

I visited this place in 2014 and got a chance to visit it again in 2024. Nothing changed, it's good that it didn't change coz it was great in 2014 and it is still great in 2024. I guess they just need to develop or clean up the area where they placed the other captivated wild animals. Overall still great. A good experience for different ages. Will definitely return if given the chance.
Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm is a remote prison in the Philippines that tourists can visit. The prisoners there are engaged in various vocational activities, such as farming or handicrafts making. It's an interesting experience that you won't find anywhere else in the world.
The church Immaculate Conception Cathedral, located across from Plaza Cuartel in Puerto Princesa City is a historical landmark and spiritual refuge for locals and visitors alike. The building of this cathedral can be considered one of the Instagrammable places in Puerto Princesa as its sweet pastel blue paint often gets included in a city package.
The Immaculate Concepcion Cathedral is the first and the oldest church/parish in Puerto Princesa City.
Immaculate Conception of Mary. The Roman Catholic Church teaches that Mary herself was immaculately conceived. ~ Mary was filled with divine grace from the time of her conception. ... ~ Mary's immaculate conception was necessary in order for her to give birth later to Jesus without infecting him with original sin.

Attended the 5pm Sunday Mass. For visitors with no car, you can reach the cathedral by riding a tricycle. Rates may vary depending on the type of tricycle and distance to the church.
The church is full during the 5pm schedule. There are white monobloc chairs available for people who wish to be seated while hearing the mass although it can get a bit crowded especially at the back. It will be best to come early to secure seats.

It's a quaint place of worship, where you can commune with the Lord in silence and there's peaceful atmosphere. The exterior design of the cathedral is intricate and a little reminiscent of old architecture.

One of the tourist spots in the center of Puerto Princesa City. Immaculate Conception Cathedral Parish facade has dual towers in white and light blue color. In front of it is the Virgin Mary statue. It was indeed beautiful and has a gothic architecture design. It is strategically situated near Plaza Cuartel and just a stone's throw away to PPC Baywalk. Mass is held in English and Tagalog.

Very nice cathedral/church. I arrived to find Sunday service in session with a packed house. They have speakers outside for the overflow crowd. This was juxtaposed by families strolling in the adjacent parks and teens playing basement all between the church and Rizal monument. This is the heart of Puerto Princesa community.

It is one of the tourist spot in Puerto Princesa City. This cathedral has a scheduled masses everyday. They scheduled an english and tagalog mass. A lot of tourist visits this cathedral. This is located near the Plaza Cuartel and a walking distance to baywalk of PPC.

We managed for a short while to visit the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cathedral in Puerto Princesa City during a city tour, January 2016. The white & blue color painting of the exterior of the church is outstanding & symbolical of Our Mother Mary. The park in front of the cathedral was not completely done. The outer architecture is typical from the Spanish era. The inner architecture, ceiling, nave, altars & floorings are intricate & beautifully done. The covered path at one side entrance is very practical for the parishioners during rainy & hot seasons.
Robinsons Palawan is conveniently located along the Puerto Princesa National Highway, just a 15-minute drive from the airport. It offers a wide range of shopping options, including Robinsons Mall Palawan and other stores, restaurants, and vendors. The mall provides good security measures and spacious walkways for a comfortable shopping experience. It's a lovely place to hang out. It is very flexible in hosting a variety of activities like Church Mass, exhibitions, and programs. It has a place that all can afford to go to, like the wide food court. Furthermore, what I like the most about the place is its simple layout. With it, one can never go missing.

Nice mall with Robinson's being the main store, but there's many other stores, restaurants, pharmacy, small vendors, etc... Anything you need or want, you'll probably find it here. Walkways were very wide and stores weren't crowded. Plenty of places to choose for eating or just sitting down for a quick snack.
LeWayne Ballard — Google review
Not a fan of malls but this one stinks, actually and just in what it has to offer. Not many food options and they are all junk plus it just feels so dated, but so does the entire city. I feel like if people disappeared from Puerto Princesa, it would be claimed by nature in just a few years

Great selection at department store and grocery store but super slow getting checked out of the grocery store. Often wait 30 minutes to an hour getting checked out because they are always short on cashiers so only shop for groceries there when I have to. SM and NCCC manage the cashier's much better.

The Palawan Special Battalion WW-II Memorial Museum is a museum dedicated to the memory of the brave men who died during World War II. It contains displays of war memorabilia including artillery, uniforms, and also vehicles. Dr. Higinio Mendoza, a local hero who sparked the first guerilla warfare against Japanese forces, is honored with a marker at the museum.
Very small, still enjoyed it, got to see some cool things, and war items. Unfortunately they were still recovering from a typhoon, and didn't have everything displayed, which wasn't a problem, be sure to check this spot out when the opportunity comes.
Also, bring a water bottle with you, it does get quite hot in there.

Palaweno Brewery is the first brewery in Palawan and offers tours that include beer tasting, food pairing, and cultural show. The brewery is located on Manalo Street in Puerto Princesa City. It has strong beer reminiscent of craft beers in other countries.

Amazing place! Super Dave is a cool guy to chat with while sipping great craft beer. Their specials are specialy good. Apart from the bottled ones they also have two beers on tap and a few snacks to go with it. They even do tours that were not available at the moment due to reconstruction but should be back very soon (in a week or so). Beerhouse draws in friendly crowd and we spent nice evening hanging out with other drinkers. For me it's a must while staying in PP.

Amazing staff, delicious beers (our fav was the Flip), and chill atmosphere! So good we went twice! Our first night, we had a chance to talk to the very lovely owner about the beers, the history of the brewery, and what to see and do in Palawan. First craft brewery in Palawan and female run! The next night, the bartender taught us how to play Filipino pool and played a game with us. We will definitely be coming back when we return to Puerto at the end of our trip - can’t wait!

The beach Talaudyong Beach is a beautiful, secluded spot in Palawan that's great for families with children and those looking to get away from the crowds. There are no shops or restaurants on the beach, so bring your own food and drinks. The sand is clean and the palm trees provide shade during the afternoon heat.
This beach is just adjacent to batchawan beach. Can just walk by..

Very nice beach. Paradise compared to Nagtabon. You can swim here without dangerous rip currents and you can also snorkel! If you go to the very north of the beach, and if you're determined and have lots of patience, you'll find the beauty of underwater world. Most of corals are bleached or in distress but there you find yourself hovering above snowy forest. Currents will exhaust you, you'll get cold, visibility sucks, but if you're determined, you'll get the most surreal snorkeling experience. Come before the development spreads over this place and come early in the morning to avoid payment.
People are scammers there. They charge you to have access to the sea but the sea doesn't belong to them!

Even though it's quite a journey from the city, the trip is worthwhile. It's not overly crowded, and most of the visitors are locals. Very tranquil; you can soak up the sun while enjoying the beach. With your family and friends, you can engage in a variety of activities, such as kayaking and volleyball. Shower and change rooms are also available. There is a grilling area, so you are welcome to bring food and prepare it there. Large parking lot and helpful personnel. Try heading here if you're looking for a swimming beach close to Puerto Princesa.

Two beaches in one - Talaudyong is the northern side and has an entrance was that states private but public are allowed so it’s a permissive beach with a gate and barrier, both were open when we arrived. The sea is crystal clear , the yellow sandy beach is clear of plastic waste and set in a beautiful curve lined with various tress that provide shade. There are also a series of beach pods not sure how to get access to them. There was no sign of any refreshment's/ shops open on our arrival on Easter Monday .

Visitors can enjoy horseback riding, experience the thrilling rainbow slide, try their hand at skywalking, take on the giant swing, and soar on the zipline. For those seeking relaxation, you can simply unwind at the main hut.
The cost of entry is incredibly affordable at just 20 pesos per person, and children aged 10 and below can enter for free. The rides, which include slides, skywalk, giant swing, and zipline, offer a range of options, with prices varying from 195 to 350 pesos each. An even more convenient choice is the package deals, allowing you to enjoy multiple rides for a reasonable price, typically ranging from 350 to 550 pesos.

Even though we enjoyed the cave tour experience, I personally think it is wrong to do this touring - all the tourists touch the rock formations in the cave to go through (holding onto the walls etc.) and this damages the environment. When we went to the underground river tour, the audio guide was mentioning more than once that we are not to touch anything in the cave as it damages the rock formations that take million years to build. I doubt this cave will live long enough so our ancestors can see it

What a wonderful activity! Honestly, I liked it more than the underground river.
The cave is run by a family business. They make tours. There are 2 tour options: normal and extreme. I chose the extreme one, which had elements of climbing. It was an adrenaline rush, but it was very exciting. Make sure you are ready for some climbing, water crossing, and crawling through the narrow passages.
If you want an easier experience, choose the normal tour. The cave itself is very beautiful.
Thanks to the family and my guide!

We signed up for the general tour but once inside it got very difficult to get through, I was thinking I am glad I didn't do the extreme tour.
When we finally got it I told the manager I'll come back someday to do the extreme and he said we already did.
So they pulled a quick one on us .
Most people wouldn't be able to do the extreme. First if you are big you won't make it through. Very narrow places to squeeze thru.
Second it is slippery and big clunbs and drops. If you are not in good physically fit you won't make it
Other than not giving us what we paid for it was an adventure if a lifetime.

This place is an absolute must and a hidden gem. Please visit. If you are in decent shape and enjoy activity and challenge, go for the extreme adventure. Art, the guide, is very knowledgeable and will show you a great time! Thank you!

Its a very nice and intresting place to visit. Our 2 guides show us all and made a very good decription and have alot to tell. The trip take near 1 hour, its hard but big value for the money. Remember good shoes and you need to be in fysical good shape too. Its not for kids. I dont understand the place not are branded more in Puerto Princesa, bc this place are acctualy better to visit than underground river. You watch alot more here.

Just amazing! Unlike the underground river where you are just on a boat while watching the sceneries. In the Hundred Caves you get to experience climbing, crawling, rappeling etc. They also provide individual safety helmets with lights on them. The tourguides are very friendly and informative and they make sure that you will get what you paid for in fact more to it. The road is accessible by a small car.

Only opened attraction in Sabang region 2 years ago. Interesting to hear a story about the cave and all the information the guide will provide.
Astoria Palawan is a five-hectare resort located northeast of Puerto Princesa City on the shores of the Sulu Sea. From here, guests have a magnificent view of the sea and surrounding forest. The resort offers beach access, a pool, and free airport shuttle service. The staff is attentive and helpful with a positive attitude. Rooms are clean and modern with excellent service by all.
So good experience in this place. I love this place.
They offer a lot of outdoor activities which you will really enjoy while staying in this resort. The food are great and delicious. 5 star really matches this hotel. Keep up the good job Astoria Palawan!

Astoria's Hotel is absolutely fantastic! I stayed there for 2 weeks, and it was an excellent experience. The hotel is located in a quiet area that allows you to relax. The staff at the hotel are friendly and helpful, they go out of their way to cater to your needs. The rooms were cleaned every day and maintained very well. I had no problems with bugs or bedbugs which is good because I was the only guest during my stay there. This is definitely worth staying at if you're looking for somewhere to relax after work, or somewhere nice to visit if you're on vacation with friends or family.
Our family has been astounded by the quality, value and friendliness of every person we have encountered at Astoria. From the lobby to the pool, from front desk to chef's table, nothing has been substandard. We really appreciate having a full-size kitchen, nice linens and comfortable furniture. We also enjoy the marvelous food choices to be found at our favorite restaurants - everything is cooked to perfection and leaves you wanting more. Even with our limited travel budget we were able to find affordable hotel accommodations with exceptional service that are very hard to find in the US (it is almost impossible elsewhere).
I loved staying at Astoria and I will definitely consider myself a member. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a place to stay in the Philippines! The service was exceptional!

It was great! My family and i received a warm welcome by the staff. Everyone was very friendly, respectful, and ready to help whenever they could. The rooms like the property are spacious, picturesque, and clean. The wifi there is amazing, its safe and fast. The restaurant food is delicious and they had a wide variety to choose from in the buffet. The restaurant we ate at was The Reserve, it is by one of their pools, the pod. The pod has a wonderful view of the beach and is great for pictures, especially since it is an infinity pool. During dinner they had entertainment like fire performers and a singer who even took requests. My brother and I really liked the recreation room where they had pool tables, ping-pong, private karaoke rooms, and even a kids room full of boardgames and gaming consoles. My family loved our stay here and we will definitely come back again!

Great staff, location and choice of activities. We visited Astoria Palawan for the second time, and it did not disappoint. The key highlight for us was the staff! We managed to have a few conversations with the people who work there, and their genuine warmth makes a big difference.
The buffet dinner is absolutely amazing, and the performances are put so nicely together for guests to enjoy.
It’s a bit on a pricey side but I’d still say it’s a fairly good value for money.
We look forward to visiting again in future!
One small recommendation to improve on would be the details required at the check in…i’d say that creating copies of passports is not something that some visitors would appreciate. You could collect the same data during the booking process and then simply ask for the documents to verify the identity.

This maybe by far the best hotel Ive been for my budget. All the staff were trained to helpful and very polite. The rooms are equipped of everything. They maintain the place everytime. The breakfast buffet is great and has wide variety of food. Strongly recommend for families and couples.

Highly recommend staying at this resort! The property itself is beautiful, with a very charming ambiance; especially when lit up in the evening. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The food presentation at Breakfast and Dinner was wonderful and delicious every time.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Special thank you to the management; particularly Fatima who made our stay very special. She truly runs a tight ship. Kudos to the team, especially Jordan, Marvin, and Geo who rolled out the red carpet for my family and I. Truly a five star experience!

The Place is haven, service are great and very accommodating all of the staff. So many activities to do. But some of their pool are not yet open due to typhoon Odette. But so far it is a great experience. It is just too far from the airport around 36km

We really enjoyed our 5-day stay here in Astoria Palawan last Jan 22, 2023. It was our second visit after yr 2015. They have varieties of activities within the resort to enjoy. If you are a family with kids, this is best for you! Staffs are friendly and doesn't fail to greet us with smiles on their faces. Nice encounter with Mr. John Estrada De Vera who where very welcoming, friendly and courteous from day one we check-in up to the day we check out. He managed to check on us and assisted us during our stay. Aside from the excellent resort, it's the beautiful and amazing people who work here we loved the most.😊

It's a good thing we decided PPS would be our final leg on our Palawan adventure in 2023. Astoria was a blast to conclude our trip. Our stay here went beyond my expectations. The whole staff is accommodating, especially our dear Mari "without an E." She treated us not as guests but as long-time friends. Palawan is really a "comeback comeback" place, and Astoria gave us one more reason to do so.

This is our 4th time in this amazing resort and they never fail to offer world class experience from check in until check out. They have super attentive staff and the facilities are so wonderful. We had an amazing stay at the Nest. We love it so so much. We will surely go back again at Astoria Palawan❤️❤️❤️

This is a hotel for Filipino families. It was very busy with lots of children. The dining room was packed in the morning. It had a good buffet breakfast and a nice pool facing the ocean. I has Bifstek Palawan with rice for dinner. It wasn't bad, but considering they said it was their most popular dish I expected a little more. The beef was semi tough and chewy and was not outstanding.
The room was dated, but was comfortable and quiet.
Price for the room including breakfast was US$72. I have never paid that much for a hotel room in Thailand, Malaysia, Laos, Vietnam, Burma.

Very hospitable and accommodating staff. they have delicious foods, a wide location and it's perfect when you want peace. The pools are late closed but it's a hot spring. There are different activities to do like water park, karaoke, video games, board games, and more. Perfect for family bonding. They also have a gym inside and a spa. If you want to drink there's also a bar there but with frequent guests only when we went. Wifi is strong and connects you anywhere there's no spot that it's slow.

I was impressed with the rooms at the premiere villa and the view in front of the beach. The staff are very helpful, responsive to our request and needs. I was very pleased with the accommodation and service that they provided. Arnold Vargas was very friendly, helpful, knowledgeable in explaining the benefits and values of ownership and made me decided to sign up to buy a one premier villa. Kudos to Arnold and I look forward to come back soon to Astoria Palawan. 🥰😍

Having recently visited and stayed at the Astoria, I am most surprised with the high rating received. We were very disappointed with this resort as we should have been warned before hand that due to the Typhoon and I suppose Covid, they weren't prepared for guests. I have written to the Resort twice expressing my disappointment and they cant even be bothered writing back. Make sure you check before you book that the Spa has water in it, that the water park is open, that the menu is not the same for lunch and dinner with no variation, and that you take your flip flops cause walking on the stones around the resort isnt pleasant in bare feet.
Finally, beware of the sand fleas -two weeks later and I still have welts and itches!

Excellent Place to unwind and Relax!
The Best among Astoria Properties!
We're glad we are members of Astoria...
We enjoyed the facilities and activities.
The Fire Dancer and Singer on the weekends were Fantastic!
Room Food Service, Customer Service, daily Complimentary bottled water and toiletries, housekeeping... exceeded my expectations! The Trained Lady First aider helped my 2 sons regarding their minor injuries and brought us to the nearby Health Center. Port Barton trip was the best!
Food in the buffet breakfast needs to have more varieties though...
Overall, excellent.... memorable and relaxing stay.. Can't wait to come back again in the future!

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Astoria Palawan, and it was truly an exceptional experience. From the moment we arrived, We were welcomed by the friendly and attentive staff who went out of their way to make us feel at home.
The resort itself is stunning, with beautifully manicured gardens and a pristine beach that stretches as far as the eye can see. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, with luxurious amenities and breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
One of the highlights of my stay was the food. The resort restaurant, offers a unique dining experience and serving delicious, high-quality cuisine. I particularly enjoyed the fresh seafood and local specialties, which were expertly prepared and presented.
The resort also offers a wide range of activities and amenities, from water sports and tennis courts to a world-class spa and fitness center. Whether you're looking to relax and unwind or stay active and engaged, there's something for everyone.
Overall, I would highly recommend Astoria Palawan to anyone looking for a luxurious and unforgettable vacation experience. The combination of breathtaking natural beauty, exceptional service, and outstanding amenities make it truly one of a kind.

Had a wonderful family vacation/anniversary celebration at Astoria Palawan. We got a beach front room so it's a wonderful view everyday. The staffs are nice, always helpful and accommodating. There are amenities to keep you entertained, especially since the resort is far from the city proper. Special thanks to Sir Gerry Gamboa for making our stay there even more pleasant. Thank you for assisting us in our membership upgrade. Can't wait to spend another vacation at Astoria Palawan.

We went there and stayed the night with my family for a birthday celebration. It was a beautiful experience of paradise, considering that it is virtually close to the city proper. It is accessible, with good amenities and attentive services. The food is good, the ambience of the dining experience is friendly (for we got to converse candidly with another family from India). The experience in the Water Park is fun even for my kill-joy mother! Recommended and we will be back for a longer stay.

Stayed here for 4D3N (booked this place through a travel agent). This place is an hour away from Puerto Princessa Airport. I booked a superior room for 3 adults and 1 child. When we got there, they placed us in a "superior room" with 1 king size bed, a single pull out couch with kitchen and dining area. I explained to the front desk that the reservation was to cater 3 adults and 1 child. They said that the room caters 3 adults and that initially, the child was an add-on. Explained to them that upon booking, the child is part of the booking and not a late add-on (had to show them the itinerary from the travel agent). They then transferred us to a room which is a 2 queen size bed room which looked like a standard hotel room. The room I booked was a superior room for 3 adults and 1 child and they explained that the room we moved into is also a "superior room". The hotel will also only give you 1 set room key card. So if you are staying in group in a room, make sure you request an additional key card. All staff are friendly and accommodating however the front desk lacks communication with each other. Had to book a transportation to the city one afternoon then cancelled it within an hour. Upon check out, they tried to add the transportation to my bill. I had to explain to the receptionist that it was cancelled. There are 3 pools in the resort and a water park as well. The breakfast buffet serves a variety of food. We ordered room service for dinner at the restaurant -servings were small and the food is overpriced.

My stay at Astoria Palawan was a great experience. The rooms are superb; so too with the food. Accommodation comes with a breakfast buffet with seaside view which sets the mood for the day. Nightlife was spent at the Reserve with acoustic singer and fire dance performers while having a bottle of beer or sip of wine. Staff are very courteous and accommodating. A place to be in Palawan, deserving of the 5-star rating!

If you want to rest and relax away from the city, this place is highly recommended. We were taken cared of from arrival to departure. We didn't expect our room to be that huge and spacious plus complete with all the needed appliances and amenities. The kids especially loved the waterpark which made our stay even more worthwhile. We truly enjoyed our stay and had a restful vacation.

I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to Astoria Palawan for a very remarkable and unforgettable experience that your hotel has offered. Truly a paradise within paradise. The stay was very relaxing and it made me crave for more. The rooms were clean. The service is phenomenal. All of their staff were polite and easy to talk to. There are a ton of activities to do for all ages and sizes. A must try getaway place for you and your family to enjoy.

My overall experience at the resort itself was great - incredibly friendly and helpful staff, beautiful grounds, a variety of things to do, good food, and a CLEAN room. I thought it was a great value with lovely service and genuinely warm hospitality. I'd certainly return to stay again.
The beach, however, is not spectacular for say walking barefoot or wading. It was closed for swimming/activities during my stay, and is muddy/silty (important to note if you're looking for a sandy beach with clear water). It is, however, biologically fascinating - there are a ton of creatures to observe.
I'd also suggest bringing earplugs if you stay in the Alcove building - you'll hear everything happening in the hallway (doors banging, voices echoing, the resident cat meowing...). No sound proofing at all.

Love the place. Though it's far from the airport, it's worth it. We went here to celebrate my son's birthday. Upon telling it to the staff, they gave balloons and cake to my son at our breakfast. My son was so delighted since he really wanted to have balloons on his birthday. Staffs are all helpful. Some of them even offered to take amazing photos. Given the chance, we'll be back here. If you're a member, you can also enjoy discounts on food and drinks. Good job, Astoria!
