Goyambokka Beach is a serene and tropical destination, surrounded by luscious palm trees and offering basic accommodations. However, visitors should be aware that the strong waves make it unsuitable for swimming. The beach features several casual bars where patrons can enjoy lounging on sunbeds while sipping on fresh coconuts or sampling local cuisine.
One of the best beaches in the area. A lot of palm trees, a few coaches with umbrellas. The ocean however a bit wavy. A very good ambiance!

Nice beautiful place, but it's not really good for swimming, waves are too strong.
There is a cafe where you can take coconut or eat something. It doesn't have any menu so is better to ask prices in advance. Host said that it would be enough to buy coconuts to use sunbed whole day, but then he changed his mind))) eventually two coconuts cost us 500rs and 1000rs more we should have given for sunbeds.
Besides this there are no any infrastructure like toilets, showers, etc. It's quite wild beach.

Beautiful beach, many beach restaurants and bars. Lovely for those like to enjoy drinks and good ambiance.
Have sun beds. Support local places like this.
Drink a coconut here.
Enjoy!

About 14 km from Dickwela not a busy beach by the time we visited.. seems much waves and also not a good path for vehicles but resorts are there

My favorite beach in Sri Lanka that I discovered in 2001, when I lived here for four years. It has become more popular and touristy over time, but it still retains its charm and beauty with fine sand and fun waves.
The best spot for swimming is outside off the wave breaks, where the water is much calmer. The big waves might not suit everyone, especially children, so supervision is required.
The only potential issue is that it seems that one of the dogs has begun to nip people sometimes when it gets too excited. It is still playful and harmless. We were fine, but we noticed a few others having this problem.

It's a beautiful small beach, but little is open and free to sit and nowhere with shade. For unexperienced swimmers it might get rough as the ocean is a bit wavey. A relaxed place which is clean and soothing. Lovely sand and beautiful surrounding altogether. The beach is very beautiful with several restaurants and they would rent the chairs out free of charge if you eat there. The landscape is breath-taking.

Very nice beach with a few restaurant on the beach (even in low season) that offer free umbrellas. Sea color was not that blue, but there was a lot of waves.
Beaches is more crowded and smaller than silent beach.

Super nice collective of relaxed young people. They prepare a great salad and one of their specialities is the banana chips/fries. The guys organised a fishing trip for us with a local fisherman (20k) and then prepared the fish for us. My children had a skin rash and the guys organised fresh aloe vera for us very quickly. Many thanks to you @sandaruwan and his boys! Best regards Martin and Family from Germany

Really nice beach.
Waves can get really high. Water was clean and warm in Dec.
There are no washrooms available at the beach, you have to walk back to your hotel.

The Lagoon Paradise Beach Resort in Tangalle, Sri Lanka is a 4-star property situated by the ocean and lagoon. For those seeking a calm and tranquil experience surrounded by the sea, this resort offers Cabanas that provide a relaxing atmosphere.
The beach restaurant serves amazing food, we had a great dinner. Rooms are spacious and clean.
Breakfast with a beach view was a great experience and will definitely visit again.

The location was very quiet and the grounds extensive. The beach was very good with very few people on it. Staff was great. Foods are delicious at the Big Crocodile restaurant. The pool was sufficiently large to allow swimming. Rooms and the environment was super relaxing. Hotel offers very good value. I never hesitate to go again to Lagoon Paradise Beach Resort.

Hotel staff is super friendly and the service is very good. Hotel is well maintained. Place has a good vibe. Food are also delicious. Better if the rooms in the old building can be redesigned.

We stayed at the cabanas and loved it. Hotel is surrounded by nature and beautifully kept. Some may argue that it might benefit from a cosmetic fix-up here and there - but we found it beautiful as is. Actually we were not sure what to expect since some reviews were quite dramatic, but in reality we were absolutely satisfied with every aspect of our stay.
During our 9 day stay, rooms were cleaned every day, topping up water, towels and whatever else was necessary. The pool was always clean, perfect temperature and to my surprise did not smell like chlorine (as pools often do).
It is true that wifi is only available in lobby and some parts of pool area - we enjoyed the "digital detox" and lack of distraction from our devices during our holiday.
The restaurant is on the beach, making us look-forward to every meal time. Breakfast was abundant in choices and tasty, but we also tried many items from the menu and, despite trying other restaurants in the area, we kept comming back to big crocodile.
Keeping the best for last - the restaurant staff were so attentive and friendly, special thanks to "our" amazing waiter Sudat (I'm sorry if I misspelled your name)!
Only thing I missed was THE COCONUT ! :D
P.S. We traveled as mother-daughter pair, were mother has mobility issues and daughter is pregnant - these issues in mind, we have no complaints at all.
Thanks for making our stay so lovely !

We had an amazing time at this place. We decided to stay in a Cabana, the view and atmosphere felt calm and relaxing. Nice food, lovely vibe and great service were on board from the time we checked in. We’ve been specially looked after by Nishantha and Asela (hotel school staff). We highly recommend this place specially if you looking for a calm relaxing experience surrounded by sea.

I went there last December with my friends for a one-night stay (full board). The hotel wasn't busy at all, as there were only a few tourists here and there. Our room was a triple deluxe garden view, and it was very average, comprising only the most basic amenities. The TV in the room wasn't working properly. One of the biggest downfalls was that the rooms don't have Wi-Fi and you have to visit the hotel lobby to use Wi-Fi. The mobile 4G reception is not good in the area too. Room service wasn't great either, as they didn't respond to the phone multiple times when we wanted to request some water bottles. However, the staff was very helpful and attentive when talked to in person.
The pool was really nice, and they have a beach restaurant called 'Big Crocodile.' The food in the restaurant tasted average, but there's nothing to complain about except for the slightly small portion sizes. The interesting part was the location of the hotel, which has access to a great beach with crystal-clear water on one side and to the Rekawa lagoon on the other side. It's possible to kayak in the lagoon, and it's included in the full-board package. However, the water in the lagoon wasn't the cleanest. Overall, the experience was okay for the paid price, but there are several improvements to be made here.

Very nice resort, very kind staff, right from the arrival you can see the attention to the customer with the offer of a juice and wet and fragrant towels to cool off. Nice clean and spacious pool with attached bar. Beautiful beach with restaurant and bar. We had breakfast with ocean view and killer whale passage, great! The manager is a really kind person, very good restaurant, clean rooms, in short... Absolutely to recommend!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the villa at Lagoon Paradise Beach Resort, and it was truly an excellent experience. The villa itself was spacious, with a very large garden, and located close to the ocean. Waking up to the sound of waves crashing against the shore was incredibly soothing. The beach was wide and an excellent place to relax.
The highlight of my stay, however, was the food. The resort's restaurant offered a delectable array of dishes, with the chefs going out of their way to provide a variety of culinary options for both the buffet and à la carte menus. The portions were large and mouthwatering.
The resort reception staff and villa member of staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that my stay was as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Overall, my stay at the beachfront villa in this resort was nothing short of magical. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious getaway with delicious food and stunning views.

Absolutely good place and enjoyed the lot. Beach is not seabath friendly due to high tidal waves and deep of the sea. But you can walk and kids can enjoy the pool. Worth of money.

Spent an amazing 9 days at this place. The restaurant served amazing meals, very good seafood and the beach was simply stunning, the waves were big just the way I like it. Hotel is okay for the price ~100€/night
Weird Mix of new rooms but very old stuff inside (like hairdryer with no insulation anymore or old rusted garbage can…)
Rooms: cleanliness is 5/10 points (lots of glass rings from the previous guest were still there…)
The Restaurant of the hotel @ the beach is very nice and delicious 😋 👍
The Pool is very nice and warm 🏊♀️ but getting old.
Service felt distant and slow at times especially the front desk.
Lots of things going on … guest Prio 2 or 3…
(example: 15 min side-talk while he was doing my bill or we had to ask 3 people for pool towels and waited 2h)

This hotel is situated by a very beautiful beach and lagoon. And it has the potential to be such an amazing hotel.
On arrival, I was shocked to learn that WiFi is not available in rooms, I've never been to a hotel in this day and age that does not have WiFi in the rooms. The manager's reasoning was that they want families to interact in the rooms instead of spending time using WiFi which was, I'm sorry to say, ludicrous. During the time I was there, people were spending time in the lobby on their phones rather than "interacting with their families". I believe the management may be trying to save money but I would honestly encourage them to add WiFi to all rooms to improve guest experience. I was unable to interact with my family outside of the hotel due to lack of WiFi.
Apart from that, the housekeeper was really sweet, the water was hot, the restaurant went out of their way to serve us vegetarian options, the people were kind.
There were a lot of bugs around the rooms and in corridors which is probably due to its location but perhaps fumigate? There were two large cockroaches in my family's room.
If WiFi had been available, I would have given this hotel 5*. If management reads this, please remember, it's always better to implement services that will put you one step ahead of your competition and I hope you look at my feedback as constructive criticism that can help you improve. All the best.

Rooms are OK. But per guest only 1 big towel.
Service, drinks and food in the restaurant is OK.
But the service on the pool is not good. It‘s hard to get fresh towels and the pool boy wants to clean the floor during we relax on the poolbeds, he cannot speak english and he is not friendly. If we order some drinks he is annoyed.
The sun lounger was broken and we let the pool boy know and he was even more annoyed and told us we should use another one.
The pool is not new and should be renovated on some places.
The place from the hotel is not good, because it‘s not allowed to go swimming in the sea, because of the big waves it‘s to dangerous…and nobody informed us about this. Would be nice to get this information already when we booked the hotel or at least during check out from the reception. But it looks very beautiful.
Wlan is only avaliable in the reception.

Very nice lokated however after paying the invoice they called our driver severall times - as a massage was missing on the bill (their fault) and we shall get back (+2h drive) or get to the next bank to pay it. They were not able to provide easy payment information as Paypal and kept on pushing hard by calling several times a day disturbing our vacation. We finally had to get to a bank for a local transaction.
On top we got a room with no view at all, only having a wall infront of the balkony for "high pricing". No WIFI at all in the rooms, WIFI at the reception extremly poor.
However, service crew at the restaurant and pool was very friendly, food was delicious.

Wonderful art of so many various styles. We feel lucky to have found this gallery and honoured to bring a painting for our new house. The artist himself is a very nice person, which makes the experience even better. I believe it might not be our last purchase, as Indika offered to create a custom painting when our house is ready and ship it. Reasonable prices too for such a beautiful painting.
Hana Bremmers Kameníková — Google review
Each painting is an original work of art! Indika is a true artist and a person from whom you can feel the positive energy!
Mostly you will come across the same copies of paintings in Sri Lanka, just souvenirs without soul. But not here, because this man is a creator. His paintings are real.
If you want an original piece of art and not just a souvenir, I highly recommend you to meet this man and his work!

The Medilla Natural Swimming Area is a picturesque sandy beach fringed with palm trees and an oceanfront restaurant. However, it is not suitable for swimming due to the often large and rough waves. During low tide, there's very little water, while at high tide, only the channel carved by the surge has more than 30cm of water.
A very safe place to have a bath even during a high tide due to the natural rock barrier.
Prasanna Srinath Subhasinghe — Google review
Lovely to look at, but unsuitable for swimming. At low tide there's very little water and at high tide the only place with more than 30cm of water is the channel carved by the surge. It's great to standn in, but with waves coming in left and right and king waves coming over the top of the rock you'd be ill advised to swim here.

Small spot that is sheltered by old reef & rock structures. The strong waves break on the rocks/reef providing a safer channel in behind for a dip (or children to play while adult keeps constant watch of ocean for big/rogue waves).

(Translated by Google) A beautiful sandy beach with coconut palms providing a pleasant shade like from the movies about the South Seas. But the waves coming behind the reef from both sides clog the relatively safe swimming zone with sand. I observed it four years apart, so in a few years it could be after bathing. Fortunately, it may happen that the flow of water changes and the sand may begin to decrease again, but this is difficult to predict in advance. But the place is really magical.
(Original)
Very beautiful strip of sand, for us the best beach so far - only downside is that you can only "swim" in one spot, but it's still worth it to relax as it is quite empty in comparison to some places like Mirissa.

One of the most Beautiful and clean beaches we have visited. Lots of colourful seashells on the beach area which we had fun picking up. It's less crowded and there's a reef area which you can bath not to shallow and won't get carried away by the waves. Beautiful sunset view in the evening. ❤

Great beach to look at and grab a book and relax on the sand . Not suitable for swimming, although you can stay in the shallows and play in the waves. The beach isn't very crowded and is quite long. There are a few restaurants set apart in the beachfront.

Seems like local guides hardly try to promote this place ;-) 5 stars for view, 2 stars for swimming and sunbathing facility.
No doubts, it is a beach of a great picture and it is suitable only for long walks. Stones near the shore and very strong waves make it impossible to swim. At some small areas you can only go-in the water and go-out. Enjoy!
