Beautiful views on both sides of the island looking over the water. When it's low tide all the colors of the water and coral reef show. It's a good vibe being in the area. There are a few shrines around the area.

Definitely a nice place near ikei beach. But the road is very narrow. There are two roads, one is attached with a parking, that one should be used. The view is amazing, i was really feeling happy that time. But we couldn’t stayed more as sun hits a lot there!

Miyagi Island is a sub-island of Okinawa that you can drive across a bridge just like Kouri Island. There are three islands in there, Henza Island, Miyako Island, and Ikei Island, plus another sub-island to the right, Hamahiga Island, while driving across the bridge before reaching Henza Island. There is a stop at the Sea Culture Museum where you can park your car and take photos or chill by the sea. drive across Miyagi Island is the Happy Cliff Lookout near the Nuchimasu Sightseeing and Salt Factory and the Shaved Ice Shop 瑠 庵 + 島 色
Happy Cliff is a very beautiful beach view point, the water is very clear. and wonderful the sand below Of the cliff is so white and on the cliff is windy but feel comfortable

Katsuren Castle Ruins is a 15th-century castle located on a cliff in Okinawa, designated as one of UNESCO's World Heritage sites. The castle boasts panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and offers visitors an opportunity to explore the region's history through well-maintained ruins, interpretive signage, beautiful landscaping, and walking trails. Visitors can access free rides to the base if they prefer not to walk.
One of Okinawa's UNESCO World Heritage sites, Katsuren Castle offers stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. Set on a hilltop, the grounds showcase the history of the region. The ruins are well-maintained and provide walking trails, interpretive signage, and beautiful landscaping.
Parking is across the street from the ruins complex, and there's a small gift shop with snacks and drinks available for visitors.
If you're ever in Okinawa, this is one of the must-see destinations to learn a bit about the ancient Ryukyu Kingdom.

For ¥600 you can enter the site and their expedition. They have live performances on weekends and holidays. You can also rent a kimono if you like. A cart took us closer to the castle, we were glad because it was scorching hot when we went. I love the view at the top, the architectural structure is amazing and there's not too many people so we have ample time to enjoy the place. The parking is accessible too.

Cool spot to see if you have 15 / 20 minutes to spare! These castle ruins are situated on top of a hill overlooking the ocean. The views from the top are amazing! The staff are super friendly and there are plenty of restrooms at the bottom of the hill and across the street. There's also plenty of parking across the street at the Uruma City Historic Site Guide. My family and I truly enjoyed walking and seeing this castle. I will definitely visit again when I'm in the area.

A sightseeing spot less than an hour by car from Naha. We were just expanding our facilities. The ¥100 cart that you can ride from the parking lot or exhibition room will take you halfway up Katsuren Castle, so it's worth using.

This place is stellar.
The virtual tour you can take on your phone is so cool. There are plaques everywhere telling you what things were and the history of the castle.
Parking and the ticket booth are across the street from the castle. It's not a far walk to the castle. There is also a shuttle that can take you to the entrance of the castle if you don't want to walk up the hill.
The path after you enter the ground is a bit hard to walk, especially on towards the top, and more so if it's rained. That's my only complaint, and even then, it's how the castle was designed to better protect it from invaders. So, be careful.
The view from this castle was awesome. I thoroughly enjoyed my time. I recommend going to this site if you like history and/or culture of Okinawa.

Inexpensive ticket for entry and plenty of parking. The museum at the beginning is very cool and contains loads of interactive information. I visited here early of 2013 and there were changes and seems the place is now being maintained. It's not usually crowded with people so you can take your time to appreciate the stones and it's architectural design. A well preserved history of the old Ryukyu Dynasty.

Such a nice place to visit! Everyone was so helpful. I took a taxi and got dropped of at the entrance, however, you need to purchase a ticket at the building across the street, not the gift shop, the museum part. I was greeted kindly and helped immediately. The ticket came out to less than $5 USD and you get a pamplet about the ruins. It is so worth visiting. A gentleman even took me on a golf cart up the hill to see the ruins. Stunning views, and there are different plaques to describe the castle. Easily walkable! Make sure to visit the gift shop, by the building where you bought the ticket and also near the parking area. A very nice lady even helped me get a taxi back as I was having trouble with my phone. They have very cute souvenirs, snacks, and even drinks for purchase. There are places to eat and use a bathroom if needed. Very thankful for everyone's help and kindness!

One of the many world heritage site castle ruins in Okinawa. Parking & tickets are available by the event area further down. Then a shuttle will bring you up as it is a bit elevated. The price of admission is a bit steep. It wasn't too crowded on a weekday. Nice to walk about. Good views all round. Spent about 30 minutes or so.
Bios Hill is a stunning and peaceful nature park with an array of activities to enjoy such as boat rides, kayaking, petting zoos and cafes. To avoid the heat, it's recommended to visit early. The park offers many exciting attractions like trails, playgrounds and swings for children. Admission costs 5,400 yen for a family of four including the boat ride but additional activities such as cart rides or sup require extra payment.
Very cool nature park. I highly recommend checking it out! Extra tips: come 2 hours before the closing time cos it's less crowded and buy the ticket online because it's cheaper than on the spot

The park has a fun play area with toys,, things to climb, pet and feed goats and a pig! Followed many trails found cool spots to chill and swings!!
I enjoyed walks through the jungle!

If you live here, you know how hot it gets, so try to plan to go as early as possible. It is such a beautiful park, we spent just over 3 hours here exploring the trails, climbing the playgrounds, feeding the animals and doing the boat tour. There's also these big swings set up randomly that my kids went insane for because swings are few and far between here.. For a family of 4 entrance was 5,400 yen (including the boat ride). Anything extra; cart rides, sup, you pay inside the park. We brought our own lunch, there are plenty of covered picnic benches

What a beautiful place! Great for families! We took a wagon ride pulled by a water buffalo, and at the end of the ride, the driver let my boys come down and hold on to the rope and “lead” the water buffalo! So kind of this man to let them do this, I wish I knew his name! I am so grateful my boys got this cool experience! There’s also beautiful flora, nature trails, dragon topiaries, a cool wooden playground, observation decks, boat rides, giant swings, and a gift shop with very unique toys. We can’t wait to come back.

Big and interesting park with many hidden nooks. The boat ride is included in the price (3000 yen for an adult, free for kids until 4). During the ride the guide shows interesting plants and tells jokes but only in Japanese. The stamp rally with the quize is also in japanese. You can borrow a stroller for free but there are a lot of places where is impossible to get with a stroller. Food for goats is 100 yen. There isa small cafe on the territory with soba, tacoyaki and ice cream. Good place for kids

This place is beautiful. The wood structure playground is nicely made and great for kids to be active. The grass is fresh and green. Amazing to sit on for picnics. I love how there is trails to walk on and that it's most likely clean and not filled with leaves. Mini pop up stores that is on campus is cheap to buy from. The entry price however is pricy. If you love to collect, there are multiple stamp stands that is free to use. The river kayaking is really fun activity to do. The ride is about 30 minutes if you are good at directing your kayak. There is a time limit to the rides here. Would recommend to ride. There is also a maze that is free to get lost in. Overall Bios Hill is one of the places I would visit while I'm in Okinawa.

Oodomari Beach is a popular swimming spot situated on an island with broad, white sands and crystal clear waters that make for excellent snorkeling. The beach is privately owned, but the entrance fee is worth it as the staff ensures the area remains tidy with amenities such as restrooms, tables for rent, and shaded areas. A lifeguard also oversees the premises to ensure everyone's safety.
Super nice place to spend the day with family and friends. Friendly staff who work to keep it super clean. They have a life guard. Restrooms shade and tables to rent. If you choose. It’s a private beach so you pay to enter but it’s totally worth it you get what you pay for. We spent the whole day with friends and brought food. Absolutely stunning water and would be nice for families with small kids, but I wouldn’t go back here personally. They charge 500¥ just to get in plus more if you want to use your own paddle board. Beautiful beach, not very crowded and snorkeling was amazing for me since I don't like swimming to much. Lots of different types of fishes and the swimming area is netted so I felt save as I could. Water was clear to see all the fishes. Workers are sweet and bust their butts especially with parking. I will definitely go back!!
Edit: its 500 yen per person in a car.
You can bring your own umbrella but you'll have to 500 yen. They have showers and water sports (water sports are 2,500 yen per person). Canopy prices vary in prices, from 2,000 to 3,000 yen.
Have lots of yen with you if you plan to do alot.

First, let me address the fees. This is a private beach with employees and supported infrastructure. That means, someone has to pay for maintenance and wages of the employees - hence the fees! My family of 4 paid 3600 yen to have a nice canopy all day, parking, and restrooms. 100 percent worth it.
This location is beautiful, and it wasn’t too busy. This is a great place to snorkel if you are not a strong swimmer or new to snorkeling. The currents are pretty weak and easily manageable.
There are limited coral areas in the roped off area. However, there are TONS of fish. The staff give you a hot dog too, so you can snorkel and feed the fish. I put the hot dog in my pocket and broke bits off throughout the day to feed the fish. At one time, there were probably 3-400 fish around me!
The staff do a great job cleaning the place. Recommend bringing food and water, and just spend the day there. They do have showers, but we didn’t use them. I’m sure there is a fee, but again, this is a private owned beach.
Great little spot!

Cool beach where you can see tons of beautiful fish right in front of you in the water. You can feed them with stale bread, I heard that they also love frozen peas.
You pay 500¥ per person including parking and shower access. The place is run by a few nice local guys. There’s snorkeling gear, floats, etc available to rent.
There’s little to no shade except for tents that are available for rent. The sign says 3,000¥ but we hid under there a little. Great beach

Went there for snorkeling in June. Super clear water and we got to see quite a lot of fish.

Such a fun beach! Our kids absolutely love snorkeling here. Always plenty of fish to see. Entrance fee of ¥500 per adult, ¥300 per child. They provide a hotdog so you can feed the fish. Tables and additional amenities available for a fee, a few food options as well. Highly recommend making a day trip out of this part of the island!

Best beach I experienced in Okinawa Hontou. Price is 500yens for adults and 300yens for kids. Includes parking and use of showers. People in charge are REALLY nice and professional. The beach and sea is very clean and full of sea life (loads of beautiful fishes) a few meters only from the beach. You can feed the fishes. Really cool experience. I recommend.

A bit remote, reachable by car only. Paid parking and access. ⛺️ and tables with umbrella for rent, also snorkeling equipment. Altogether is a nice spot but not a fantastic one. No food on site just some drinks vending machines

Beautiful beach, full of fish for the amatuer snorkelers. The entry fee was pricy, but the staff was very nice.
They have life guards on duty which is nice, and umbrellas and roofed accommodations for rent.
The change room and shower were free of charge although they were super basic and small.
This one one of the nicest beaches I have ever visited!

Love the beach, clean, cared for, friendly and helpful staff, lifeguards and rental equipment. Only complaint I have is that there is a charge for your own stuff that you bring, like $10 to bring a paddle board or $ for your own tent. I wish those weren’t a thing, but still highly recommended place

Beautiful beach and clear water, and they allow dogs which is great!
Cave Okinawa, located in the north of Uruma, is the largest limestone cave complex in central Okinawa. Visitors can explore centuries-old stalactite formations along elevated walkways that are colorfully illuminated. The cave has undergone significant improvements over the years, with well-lit pathways and comfortable trails making it easily accessible for visitors. Despite the potential slipperiness due to dripping water inside the cave, it offers a cool escape from the summer heat of Okinawa.
Many years ago, I visited this cave and can tell you, it has come a long way as an attraction. It used to be about an hour crawl and climb, sometimes through hip-deep water, navigating this cave. These days, you no longer have to wear a helmet with a head lamp. The entire cave is well lighted and has stairs with handrails, wooden plank flooring (where necessary) or comfortable dirt trails which make the cave tour less than half an hour. Customers will walk a bit of distance from the ticket office to the cave entrance and from the exit, back to the start. The entire walk is less than 1,000 steps, according to a friend's pace counter. There are toilets near the parking lot at the entrance. Pamphlets, describing the attraction are available at the office.
There are spots inside the cave that may be slippery. Hand sanitizer is avaiable at the entrance and exit to the cavern. Photographers using tripods should be careful of their equipment's footing. Some places the boards along the way are not level and (in spots) you will have to squeeze into narrow passages. Due to Coronavirus and travel restrictions, the attraction is not very busy so, it's possible to take your time if doing photography.
Strollers or wheelchairs are not recommended unless, you are a Hercules who likes to do lots of lifting. Quite and interesting history of the cave may be gained from reading the signs posted within. t's well worth visiting and the price is unbeatable. Don't pass this one up!

Nice little place for a short adventure. Around 15 to 20 mins walk in the cave, they have photo shoot signs so you know where to take the best pictures. We also got 2 small clay pots at the village home just outside of the exit.

We drove pass by it long time ago and I saw the sign saying Cave Okinawa. At that time, I was still so impressed by the cave we went at Okinawa World, I checked on map immediately and added it to my bucket list of this island.
💗Definitely a recommendation for those who love exploring the island and don’t want to go out because of the Okinawa summer heat.
💗It can be really slippery in the cave because water was dripping really hard, not sure if it’s because of the humidity or the raining season. So I don’t think it’s a good idea to wear sandals or low friction shoes.
💗There is some inbuilt stairs but it’s really narrow and not steady. It’s another reason to wear appropriate shoes.
💗Cave can be really chilling, I’d recommend ladies to carry a cardigan or something to put on, but since it’s also not a really long trip (20-30mins) it’s just a kind suggestion.
💗 The biggest surprise is that they have a nature heart shaped hole you can see at the end!!!

Great experience, and extremely English friendly signs and information boards. The cave itself is quite short so I would recommend slowing down a bit and taking your photos. When you exit there are some cool scenic views and structures to look at.

We were looking for something to do before we met up with our son. Using Maps, I searched for things to do and found Cave Okinawa not too far away. There was an affordable ¥500 pp entrance fee and plenty of free parking.
I sometimes am claustrophobic when I visit caves, but this one was not so deep and was rather spacious so I had no issues.
The formations were interesting and the use of colored lights made it beautiful! There was information about the use of the caves by Okinawans during the Battle of Okinawa in WWII.
It was a fun excursion when looking for something to do!

This place has lots of metal steps. Not good idea if you have heart conditions or not in shape for walking. A lady went into cardiac arrest just outside the cave. It took a while for ambulance plus the walk back to the car is a bit far for those not in shape. Wear good shoes pack light.

My kids and I had a few hours to kill before heading to the airport. Due to the pandemic, most of the caves and Okinawa world were closed, but I was pleasantly surprised that Cave Okinawa was open and only a 30 minute drive from where we were staying in Chatan! This cave had surprisingly good vibes (a lot of caves in Okinawa are, well, not happy places). Well lit, comfortably cool escape from the mid August heat and lots of lovely features. The signs constantly remind you of good luck symbols throughout the cave. Red and white ribbon formations, golden formations, a lucky history (it was used as a child birthing place) and a heart shaped "window" at the end that leads out into a medow teaming with colorful butterflies and even a glimpse of a fruit bat! For my kids, this was one of the biggest highlights of the trip!

Nice place to visit on a hot day. There are many photo spots, interesting stalactites and special spots to make a wish in the cave. A bit slippery and wet inside. 500 yen for the entrance. Parking is available. Ice cream stand is near the ticket booth.

Wow! This cave is absolutely beautiful. My family and I visited early in the morning and it was nice and cool inside the cave. When you arrive there is a kiosk where you pay for your tickets and then it's just a short walk to the entrance. My family really enjoyed our visit 😊

It's so cheaper than Okinawa World. But It's only a cave, not have any more activities than others place.

The caves are coolly lit👍 The hiking trails are cool as the cave comes out of the neighborhood 😂😂😂 I really enjoyed it. There are places to kick it by the kiosk you pay and restrooms. If you go by cab be sure to ask them to stay or you will be hiking to find a cab about 1/4 of a mile north down the road like me and my daughter had to😂😂😂

Definitely an off the beaten path experience and cool to check out if you're in Okinawa. Overall, it was relatively short, about 15-20 minutes to walk through, including all photo spots. The cave formations were interesting and highlighted by colorful lighting but nothing breathtakingly amazing. I have no disappointments but did expect more. I do recommend stopping by the local artisan selling hand made and fired pottery located a short distance from the exit of the cave. There is a short walk back to the entrance and parking area.

I would not recommend this. For 1200 yen, you could do many things that are more entertaining and interesting. It took less than 5 minutes to walk through and it was just not an enjoyable experience.

It’s beautiful though.
You’re charged for the entry and then all other thing’s.
They do rent out kind of everything related to beach.
You can bring your own tent and sit and relax, but not own barbecue.
Swimming area is defined.
They have all kinds of water sports available.

Beautiful beach with options to have fun on the water. Big wheel water tricycles, banana boats, a protected swim area, snorkeling, restaurant, gift shop, lots of parking, and shady spots to sit and enjoy the view. Prices vary for what you are here for. Parking in the main lot is 400 yen. Sightseeing is just 200 yen. Swimming or just spending the day at the beach have their own price. It's well worth it, I assure you. This is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island and it has everything you'll need to enjoy your visit. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There are beautiful views on both sides so bring your camera and take lots of pictures!

Though the beach area is not that much big. But it has a great scenic view. We did banana boat activity here which is very cheap comparing to the other beaches in Naha. 1000¥ per person. 8 can seat in one single boat. Car Parking is free. Shower is paid and the locker two. I didn’t like that thing that We had to pay separately for shower and locker.

Ikei Beach is nice, but the entrance fee is more expensive at $4 comparied to other places here in Okinawa. Although it's to pay for the helpful staff and restrooms and other amenities offered. There are many huts to be rented as well as other items such as jetskis, banana boats, kayakas and paddle boards.

It is a place that can be reached in about an hour from Naha city, and it is a place that you must pass by to go to Miyagi Island and Ikei Island.
It's on the way across a bridge with ocean views on the left and right, and the parking lot is spacious and convenient, but it's a long parking lot, so I think it's hard to park in front (laughs).
There is also a restaurant inside, but it seems to be quite crowded depending on the season.
However, I think the scenery is the best, so I think it would be nice to stop by the convenience store before crossing the bridge and eat while looking at the beach.
However, I think that it is quite difficult in hot weather (lol)

This rest stop, lies along the causeway, going to the outer islands, off of Okinawa;s east coast in the City of Uruma. It is a convenient place, along the waterfront, to observe water sports taking place. Local products are sold at reasonable prices within the gift shop and, refreshments, as well as snacks are available. Inside, towards the rear of the building are, two places to eat. One is a steak house, the other, sells less expensive meals. Both places, I have eaten at and, recommend either, depending upon your appetite and budget. The Gift Shop sells some unique items at touristy prices, refreshments are available, similiar to what would be found in convenience stores and there are restrooms, which are kept clean The entire building is stroller and handicap friendly.

Those who give this beach a low rating may desire exclusivity for themselves. The beach is not crowded, offering opportunities for water activities, abundant marine life, fine sand, and freedom to explore the surroundings. The parking fee of 500 yen is justifiable. While there is an additional charge of 200 yen for showers, it is possible to do without them after swimming in the crystal-clear waters.
This is the second beach I’ve been to and I’ve got to say it was very beautiful and blue. The weather was perfect. We saw plenty of fish swimming very close to us. Initially walking into the water there were pebbles that hurt a bit but the sand was so soft when you went in about 2 feet of water. Water was not cold at all, it just took a couple minutes to get in. The beach has things that you can rent like inflatables and snorkeling, etc,. It does cost to get in the beach 500 yen per adult. It includes parking, bathrooms, and a shower so it’s not too bad. We eventually left when tide started to rise. Will definitely visit again or it’s surrounding sister beaches. FYI be careful because we found a big piece of metal sticking out of the sand inside the water. We tried getting it out but it was stuck under the sand. It was close to the shore a bit.

Great lil spot. Parking did cost ¥en , and was per person. ¥500 per adult , ¥300 per child, but was definitely worth it. We had fun snorkeling and walking on the small quiet beach. There are floats and jet skies for rent but we didn't use those. There is also a small netted area safe to swim from Jellyfish , etc.. fun and good especially for Littles.
There were also small showers included for after having fun at the beach.
The staff working the beach hut were friendly and one spoke some English. Bring Yen for sure and have a great time.

There is a 500yen entrance fee. They do accept visa/credit card too aside from cash. You can also order variety foods and ice shave. You need to wear water shoes to protect your feet, the sand is not soft (there are pebbles). They do have bathroom and shower rooms. They have water activities you can rent (banana boat etc). When snorkeling must wear life jacket. I suggest bring your own snorkel and life vest (although they have some for rent). Not too crowded during weekdays. There are some shade areas but you can bring your own tent for shade. Staff are friendly 👍
Enjoy!!

People who rate this one star probably want to keep this place all to themselves. It's not very busy, with water sports, loads of marine life, great sand and free reign to explore the area. 500 yen for parking is totally worth it. 200 for showers but you could pretty easily go without after swimming in the clear waters.
There are some poisonous creatures in the water so be wary if you're snorkelling further from the shore, but there aren't enough to be a big concern, especially if you keep your eyes open.
We explored around the rocks and even found a small cave home to a giant hermit crab. All in all one of the best beaches in Okinawa.

Tonnaha Beach is a great place for the family. Soft sands, not many rocks. You have to pay for access. 500yen per adult and 300 yen for any child over three. Yen only, no card. Included in this fee are showers for you to use.
There are many things to do there. Banana boat, tubing, jet ski rental. You can snorkel but you must wear a life vest there, they have some you can rent.
Also there is a little Cafe there for you buy food. They even have little cabanas for you to rent.
All in all the people there are friendly and more than willing to help with the limited English they know.

This beach is very clean and quiet. Not very many people maybe due to the fee to use the beach 500yen per adult and 300yen per child. Along with viewing the animals, patrons also have access to a selection of baked goods and fresh eggs for purchase. This establishment provides an intimate experience for those looking to admire some wildlife while indulging in locally-sourced food items.
Cute quick stop to see some animals and grab eggs. Probably due to the state of emergency no cups were out to feed the animals but before Covid used to be 100¥ cups to feed the goats and turtles. Fun statues around the park too. There are flat areas so you can push a stroller through. The cages are small for the animals which is sad. My kids loved this beach the most, I think! Lots of room for them to run around and the shallows go out pretty far. Plenty of things to climb on and explore. We'd always park here for the day, its only 500yen for the day. If no one is out in the shop at the time we'd just leave the coin on the hood, never had a problem. The shop is really great too; they have snacks, drinks, equipment and rentals available. That and everyone there is really nice! To get there you have to take a dirt road off the main street, you'll see the docks below you and kinda drive through the jungle a bit, watch out for animals and giant crabs especially at night. I made it in my Cube dozens of times, just take it slow in some spots lol well worth the trip if you get a chance to go!!

Brilliant turquoise water that almost glows, lush green foliage, such a beautiful spot. There are a LOT of stairs, but it really is a short trip both up and down. Not much for parking, please be courteous of the fishermen and their docks, don’t park where you’re not supposed to.

Worth the drive, I recommend bringing the family and making a picnic out of it! It is beautiful up here, very clean, and the view is constantly changing!

8/10 for view alone. Actual structure itself delapidated and grounds in major need of TLC growth-wise.

It's a small place where you can relax and enjoy the view.

Cool place, with nice panoramic views. It could be cleaned up a bit.
The Nuchima-su Salt Factory is a small clifftop factory that offers guided tours, a souvenir shop and an eatery serving snacks such as salt ice cream. Visitors can observe the workers making and treating the famous Okinawan salt, though tours are only available in Japanese. Upstairs there is a restaurant and gift shop. One of the highlights of this tourist attraction is the park situated across from the parking lot which boasts beautiful plants and flowers, as well as stunning views.
Really nice place to visit and have a salt ice cream or shaved ice. There are many salt products ! So interesting ! Also the view is really awesome!!!

Not much to observe if you are foreigners coz everything is in Japanese.
Staffs didn’t care when we were there looking for the factory tour.
Finally we were end up enjoying our salt ice cream.
What the point to drive here just for ice cream 😅
If you are not in the area, you can skip this place.

You can get a free tour (in Japanese) of the factory where Okinawa sea salt is made by a unique misting method. There’s a shop with lots of touristy stuff like salt candies, local sugar products etc. It’s all a bit much (for me) but it’s what the people want. There’s salt ice cream upstairs and some other stuff. For me the real attraction was the view of the deserted beach and sea beyond.

Thanks to its free parking lot. Salt factory tour is frankly not worth the price. Cafeteria is good for quick meal. All else aside, this place deserve visiting due to its splendid pacific ocean view with clear blue tropical coral sea.

Right next to Kafu Bantu. This is where Okinawa does their salt collecting. The process seems pretty cool and you get to see the salt room and look into various locations where the salt is collected or worked with.

A short walk (2 minutes) from the entrance of Nuchi Masu Sea Salt Factory, we were able to head to Happy Cliff. The views were amazing. Beautiful turqoise waters, just as how you’d imagine it to be.

We ended up here by accident because we were looking for Kafu Banta. We parked the car and decided to check it out since it looks like a lot of tourist dropped by. They have a souvenir shop and a cafe that serve hot food and desserts.
We did joined the short factory tour. Although everything is in Japanese but theres pictures with english explanation. The rest is pretty much easy to guess what the guide was trying to explain and inform. We get to see the salt room and workers working, its a pretty cool technique in collecting salt and its superfine like snow.
I tried the salt soft serve ice cream and a mango float and it tasted pretty good and refreshing on a sunny day. Also went home with some salt products and snacks. The salt they produce has higher minerals and less salty compare to other makers.

The factory is very small but you can view the workers making the treating the famous Okinawan salt. The tours are only in Japanese. There is a restaurant and gift shop upstairs. My favorite part was the park across the parking lot. Beautiful plants and flowers everywhere and the view is incredible. Its an easy and relaxing walk.

Kinda disappointing. I was expecting an English tour. It was still neat, they had a few windows to look into the factory, but that’s about it. I would not go back but it’s fun for tourists. Thankfully it is free to observe. The salt ice cream is also pretty pricey. There were a lot of samples and things to buy.
The beach at Hamahiga is a picturesque and serene spot, with consistently beautiful water. It is a perfect destination for families, as it offers a clean and uncrowded environment. The beach is well-maintained and provides more privacy compared to other public beaches. There are also several small restaurants in the vicinity, as well as convenient access to family marts or Lawsons nearby. The drive to the beach showcases stunning bridges, adding to the overall experience.
It’s a long beach with a series of semi circle wave breaks for fishing and sunning. The beaches themselves are clean with a tree line and bushes for shade. There are a lot of cats lounging around that are pretty friendly. Saw a couple people camping tho I’m not sure on the rules for that.

This is a gem spot. The water is clear like crystal. I recommend to come here early as the crowd sometimes comes before noon. There were a bit of seashells to collect but the serenity of this place is absolutely awesome. The parking lot is at the opposite side of the beach. Small parking space but easy to find.

Here is a pic of the beach A few different days we had gone & the water is always just as pretty!
Great spot for the kiddos, nice and clean beach
that is rarely busy. It is well taken care of and more private then most public beaches!
Few little restaurants nearby and a family mart or Lawson can recall right down the road also. Beautiful drive over the bridges also when you are coming over!
There is no fee for parking and no rules on using your own snorkel/paddle boarding equipment etc!

Lovely beach for swimming and playing in the sand! Not sure if they grind down the sand but its smoother than other beaches. Due to the structures the waves are calm and makes water sports relaxing. It was a beautful view on the Uruma Bridge and Okinawa.
There are areas to set up a tent! No electricity outlets in tent area.
Free parking across the street. Vending machines. No trash cans, please take your trash with you.

Beautiful beach without any fee.
White sand, blue water and beautiful sunset.
Away from main Island.
It’s better if you have own way of transport, other option is to use bus service which is every 2 hour.
When I visited, nearby places were closed due to Covid situation.
But there are few options to dine in outside beach area.

We loved it here. It was probably the quietest and most peaceful beach we’ve been to since moving here. Everyone was respectful of others’ space and time.

Beautiful free public beach we went to for a dip in the sea and decided against Ikei beach which charged 400 yen per person. Azure waters and not very crowded! Would totally return
