Izu Panorama Park is a picturesque mountain park that offers stunning views of Mt. Fuji from its cable car, viewing terrace, and restaurant. In addition to this, the area boasts various attractions such as the UNESCO World Heritage site Nirayama Reverbatory Furnaces, Mishima Skywalk - Japan's longest pedestrian suspension bridge, and the beautiful Kawazuzakura cherry trees.
The only way to go to the top is by cable car. Since the weather is good we saw the whole beauty of Mt. Fuji. There is also coffee shop and restaurant, you can have your food while enjoying the scenery.

Stunning views from the top! There's also a café and restaurant at the top so you can have a meal/drink whilst enjoying the scenery.
Ropeway is too expensive, but you can get a decent discount if you book online at least a day earlier. Online tickets are valid for 3 months so you can pick a day with good weather.

It's absolutely worth going, what a fantastic discovery. Probably the best view point for Mt. Fuji. Cable car feels very steady even on a windy day.
Riccardo Cena — Google review
Wonderful place but it felt a bit overrated to me. If your sole purpose is to see mount Fuji, then you can try other close view points like Fuji Yoshida. The rope way is worth a ride though. It's probably the longest and the steepest I've ever ridden.

Worth every dollar, every minute of your life making your trip down to enjoy the view of MT Fuji and much more. One feature I like, was there’s a “Live” camera that shows Mt Fuji if it’s blocked by cloud- helping you to make better decisions in terms of taking the cable ride

It is another very beautiful view point of Fuji. Take the cable car to see Fuji on the mountain 🏔️. You will see the view of Fujisan with the sea. Another thing I really like is the delicious ice cream 🍦. There are many photo angles. Walking and enjoying the scenery can only be continued by soaking your feet in the onsen. Happy 😊

Approximately 7 min ride on the Ropeway. The view was great but could have been better if clouds did not cover Mt Fuji when view from that direction. Enjoyed the view, fresh air and the raspberry ice-cream with the crunchy cone!
LG Tan — Google review
Great sky trolley ride and the view from the top would have been amazing if the clouds didn't obscure Mt. Fuji. Great snacks and coffee at the top with shopping at the base. Worth the visit to see Fuji.

Gorgeous view. About 2000yen round trip on the cable cars (if you pay via credit card, always choose to pay in yen!) Take number 13 bus which is right outside Izunagaoka station, the stop is at the city center right before the onsen stop then walk for 8 minutes. Bus drivers speak minimum English; best if you show Google pictures for confirmation. There are also taxi outside the station. There are restaurants at the top of the park. We didnt see Mt Fuji as it was rainy but still worth it.

A must do in izu. Terrific views of Fuji. Go early and you will get in quickly—no waiting! Tour busses come then the line is much longer.

Awesome views of Mount Fuji!
You can go up the cable car to the park for about 2,500 yen.
Up there is a coffee shop and udon restaurant and other neat things to buy. We went to the udon place and it was pretty good ( 1,100 to 1,300 yen).
If you are into hiking, there are also trails, playgrounds and shrines that you can check out.
Overall great place to spend an afternoon.

Izu Panorama Park is a scenic attraction located in Izu City, Japan. This park offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, forests, and the stunning Sagami Bay. Visitors can enjoy lush gardens, hiking trails, and seasonal flower displays, making it a popular spot for both nature lovers and tourists seeking relaxation and picturesque landscapes.
Large vehicle park is available and per adult it's 2500 yen for a rope ride

Worth the visit eventhough didnt manage to see Mt Fuji in all its glory cos it was covered in clouds. There is a shrine, playground, cafe and various walking path and viewing points from Panorama park. They have discount coupons for shops and eateries on top the mountain and at its base. Cable ride was fun with view of the city below and mountains in the background.

I just use google map to checkout nearby popular sightseeing spot and found this place and was not disappointed.
We the park isn’t very big but very comfortable. We were lucky to have a clear Mount Fuji that day. The restaurant there was okay (the taste is fine just don’t expect something very surprising) but you can eat with a Mount Fuji view.
There is free car park at the cable car station. The souvenir shop sells general stuff and a bit pricey (but if are not going to any other sightseeing spot, just buy it there)

The Izu Hojo clan in the 13th and 14th centuries, the Gohojo clan in the 15th and 16th centuries, and Egawa Tarozaemon Eiryu in the 19th century. This area of Izu was central to Japanese history during three eras. Places like this are rare nationwide.
Also, the new government recognized its track record as an important center of local administration over the past several hundred years, and for about three years from 1869 to 1871, at the beginning of the Meiji era, this place was designated as the prefectural office of Nirayama Prefecture and functioned. Its administrative scope was extremely wide, covering all of Izu, eastern Suruga, almost all of Sagami, southern Musashi, and eastern Kai, an area that resembled the territories once ruled by the Hojo clans during the Kamakura and Sengoku periods. .
The more you learn about the history of this place, the more you become interested in it, and the Egawa mansion is at the center of it all. It is the pride and symbol of our hometown.

This is the residence of the Egawa family, descended from the Seiwa-Genji clan and whose founder was Yorichika Uno. The Egawa clan participated in Minamoto no Yoritomo's raising of an army and was given Egawa no Manor. During the Sengoku period, he became a retainer of Hojo Soun and built Nirayama Castle. The 28th head of the family, Hidenaga Egawa, served Tokugawa Ieyasu and became the magistrate of Izu, a territory under the direct control of the Shogunate. After that, the Egawa clan held the office of magistrate hereditary until the end of the Edo period. The building is gone now, but it is said that there used to be a magistrate's office inside the mansion.
Hidetatsu Egawa, who was active at the end of the Edo period, advocated and implemented the construction of the Nirayama Reverberatory Furnace, Shinagawa Daiba, Toda Village Shipyard, etc. because he was well versed in Dutch studies. It is also famous for baking bread for military supplies.

The Nirayama reverberatory furnace is a significant historical site that dates back to the Edo period, specifically built in 1857. It features brick-and-steel chimneys measuring 15.7 meters and serves as a crucial landmark for marking the beginning of Japan's industrial revolution. Despite the language barrier, visitors can learn about the iron smelting process through an English brochure or by watching videos in Japanese.
I visited this site lovely place and good staff I wasn’t disappointed at all
Arvin Narayan — Google review
Well, for a recognized and designated world heritage structure, it didn't really exude any of the "wow" factor. And to be honest it was a lot smaller than I expected, details and information around the furnace were quite lacking for visitors
The tourist center did put up some decent exhibits (all in Japanese though) and information in regards to the history of the industrial revolution in Japan and how the furnace was a symbol of Japan's initial attempts at kick-starting the steel/metal industry.
The surrounding area is surprisingly nice. With a tea plantation terrace nearby, and nestled in a quiet, quaint neighborhood.

I was treated very kindly when I came I to the Nirayama Reverberatory Furnaces Historical site. I do not speak any Japanese and the employees were so helpful by giving me an English brochure to learn more about this very important site to mark the beginning of the Japanese industrial revolution. The video was in Japanese but I understood the iron smelting process. Fascinating! I like history.

M S (Heyhey) — Google review
Disappointing! I respect the historical value of the furnace but I was extremely disappointed about its tourist information center. I am a foreigner living in Osaka and my hobby is to travel to different UNESCO World Heritage Sites. This time my target was this furnace in Shizuoka so I emailed the Nirayama Reverberatory Furnace Tourist Information a week before if it's open on the travel date that I planned. They replied yes and gave me the opening hours. I went as planned only to find out that the whole furnace building was under construction covered with scaffolding and thick net. Very disappointed about the dishonesty of the information center. They could have just warned me like "yes it's open but the building is covered due to construction". I went all the way from Osaka spending 2-way shinkansen tickets just for this one (I didn't go anywhere else as I have traveled almost all places around). REALLY DISAPPOINTING SERVICE. The reason why I emailed prior is because I know and understand that most UNESCO-acknowledged buildings in Japan are under reconstruction taking advantage of the pandemic season. I hope the tourist information center was MORE INFORMATIVE that's why they are called information center in the first place. Tourists go and see the furnace not only for historical value but also for its architectural value (which we cannot see as it is covered). We don't go there to pay and to listen from tour guides about the history. We could search the history on the internet! In the end no beautiful picture for my UNESCO Site album. To the information center, please be informative and not just make business. I could have rescheduled my trip after the construction if only you told me the truth. Do not waste people's money, time and effort!

"Koyasan Shingon Sect Ganjojuin".
The original origin is
It was founded in the first year of Bunji (1189) in the early Kamakura period.
Before Tokimasa Hojo, the first regent of the Kamakura Shogunate, became regent...this was around the time when Minamoto no Yoritomo, the regent of the Kamakura Shogunate, was still alive.
It is said that it was built to pray for victory in the Oshu conquest.
It is said to have been modeled after Motsuji Temple in Hiraizumi, Oshu. It is ironic that the temple in Oshu Hiraizumi was modeled after the temple in Oshu Hiraizumi to pray for victory in the conquest of Oshu.
The original ``Ganjojuin'' is no longer there, and there is only a signboard with instructions and a stone monument indicating the location next to the current Ganjojuin.
The current Ganjoju-in Temple houses five wooden statues by Unkei as temple treasures. This was designated as a national treasure and was an extremely wonderful item.
(There is a fee to see the wooden statue made by Unkei and other temple treasures. Photography of the wooden statue is strictly prohibited, so I do not have any photos. Please forgive me.)
Also within the temple is the grave of the first regent, Tokimasa Hojo. I brought Japanese sake as an offering.
Incidentally, the current main hall building was rebuilt during the Edo period by Ujisada Hojo, a descendant of the Odawara Hojo clan (Gohojo clan). (The main hall with thatched roof) The main hall was built in 1789, the middle of the Edo period.
(The main hall in the photo is a new one made of concrete. The old main hall with thatched roof was in a factory, so there is no photo.)
There are five wooden statues by Unkei, and there is also the grave of Tokimasa Hojo, so I felt that it was a very historically important place. wonderful.

After paying at the reception building, we were instructed to wait behind a parked lead car, and when there were only a few passenger cars left, we departed. After being led for a few minutes, we arrived at the greenhouse.
After receiving the milk, we were directed to the greenhouse and started. The house I entered was Benihoppe's and the one next to it was Akihime. The system was such that you could not move between houses and could not choose the items.
(It's not a point deduction because I'm not particular about the variety.)
When I ate the bright red fruit, it was juicy and surprisingly sweet. If you choose such fruit, you won't need milk. I tried adding one to the mix, but the strawberry flavor was hidden in the milk, so I didn't use it again.
The 30 minute time limit is enough because I'm not looking for a feeling of fullness.
Still, I think I ate more than one pack.
After finishing it, I could have just left for my next destination, but it was so delicious that I went back to the reception building and bought it as a souvenir from the shop next to it. It was a bit pricey, but when I ate it after returning home, it tasted just as good as it did there.

Immediately after exiting the Nagaizumi-Numazu Interchange on the Shin-Tomei Expressway or the Numazu Interchange on the Tomei Expressway, take the free Izu Jukan Expressway using the signboard for Izu-Shimoda as a guide. Continue straight ahead until you reach the last stop, the Kannami Tsukamoto Interchange, and you will see Roadside Station Kannami Gateway on your left. Once you pass there, you will automatically enter the toll-charged Izu Chuo Expressway. After passing through the tunnel, there is a toll booth (200 yen, you can't use ETC, so you have to hand it over), and the Ema Interchange is right there, so stop there. JA Ema Strawberry Picking Center is located right near the interchange.
If you are not using the paid Izu Chuo Expressway, turn left at the Kannami Tsukamoto Interchange (just before the gas station), continue straight (not towards Shimizu-cho), and follow the road until you reach Ema.
