Steveston Harbour is a picturesque destination with waterfront buildings offering seafood straight from fishing boats, along with restaurants and shops. The serene waters of the harbour are perfect for watching sunsets, which reflect beautifully on the surface. Visitors can savor delicious meals at some of the eateries along the waterfront or enjoy fish and chips in cozy settings. The prices for fresh seafood are reasonable and there's an excellent landscape to add to your experience.
It's one of the most beautiful places to get a feel of a small town.
We had been there a few times .
If u r at the Harbor, you must snack at Vicky's Island, especially Thai food.
You can also have the best gelato there.
You can also visit a park with a view there.

We love Stevenson Harbour and we love fresh seafood, so we were out the door before New Year in other words during Chrimbo Limbo, thinking to buy seafood and have a lunch while we were there. Only two ladies at the fish market braved the VERY cold weather and when we walked through the village later to get a bite, there was very little open, disappointingly. I know we all want to have Xmas, but I was really surprised that after Xmas when people are ready to get out for fresh air that this place was virtually shut down. Admittedly we were in a minority during our wanderings, but was this because everybody knows 'nothing to see here' during this period or because nobody gets out to stretch their legs and spend a bit of money?

Steveston Harbour is a charming and historic destination located in the heart of the fishing village of Steveston. The harbour offers stunning views of the Fraser River and the North Shore mountains, as well as a variety of local shops, restaurants, and cafes. Visitors can watch the fishing boats come and go, and even take a whale watching tour or fishing charter. The location is easily accessible by car or public transportation, and there is plenty of parking available. Overall, Steveston Harbour is a great spot to explore the local fishing culture and enjoy the beauty of the West Coast.

Such a beautiful place to catch the sunset. The colours are amazing and just reflects so nicely off the very still waters. There are a couple of eateries along the waterfront and although I haven’t tried them, seem like a nice place for a meal. Do drop by if you’re nearby!

Fresh fish! Tuna, prawns and more, prices are so good, it also has a marvellous landscape, and you can enjoy fish and chips in Cosy places. Great place to hang with friends and enjoy a cold beer, or if you are walking with family you can enjoy an ice cream as well.

Really peaceful from what we could see from the parking lot. Visitors are not allowed past a few gardens and must pray from a distance. Minimum donation for incense is $5 too... Plus we required masks to purchase these incense even though we were outside and the mandates were lifted? I was here to experience and learn more about the religion but found out that most of the main temple is closed to the public.

Visiting a Buddhist temple can be a profoundly peaceful and tranquil experience. This temple is probably same as any other Buddhist temple in the world but it was my first time visiting the Buddhist temple and I was not disappointed. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

This authentic Buddhist temple will have you convinced you were transported to China. The architecture, the statuary, and the sacred vibration are all straight from the heart of the Buddha. If you visit please be mindful of the fact that this is a sacred site meant for worship and meditation. There are areas open for ancestor worship, group meditation, and for silent contemplation. Cameras are not allowed in all areas due to the spiritual focus and presence of worshipers. Please be respectful and be prepared to be touched in your heart.

There are many temples in vancouver and we have heard about this temple and decided to stop by for a vegetarian lunch first, then visit the famous cherry blossoms in Garry Point Park nearby.
It was such a nice surprise for us to see the Cherry Garden here too!! Although not famous for this, the temple does provide a very unique cherry blossom experience we never enjoyed anywhere else (where there were tons of people elsewhere....). The tranquility, the happy budha, the ponds, all surronded by blossoming pink cherries! And lots of parking too!
The friendly volunteers showed us the way to the small vegetarian restaurant at the back...You are advised to call to book a table first, since it is so small (max 6-7 tables?), and only opens on weekends and only twice a month on full moon day (15th of lunar calendar), and new noon day (first day of lunar calendar). If you really cannot get a table, they have take outs too.
Although there are signs to remind tourists not to take any photos of the Budha statues once indoors, quite a few just ignore the signs (cannot read??)....That's not very nice!
Othere than that, it was a very relaxing leisure stroll after lunch. There is also a farmer's market just outside the temple if you are interested to buy fresh produce since you are in Richmond.

This sacred site is a must visit when traveling thru the area. It is a large sprawling complex with a meditation hall, Great Hall with a 30 foot statue of the seated Buddha, a dining hall, housing for the monks and nuns, plus gardens and a pond. There are shrines set up throughout the grounds and the main purpose of the sure is for worship and Spiritual blessings. Please be respectful when you visit as there will be people whose only reason for visiting is to connect with the divine. Photography is prohibited in some areas and silence is appropriate in most.
Garry Point Park is a waterfront destination park offering great vistas of the Salish Sea. It features a modern sculpture, Japanese garden, sandy beach areas, and snack bars. Garry Point Park is famous for its stunning cherry blossoms that are in full bloom during springtime.
Great vistas. Wonderful walking path around the point. Cherry trees, Japanese garden, sandy beach areas - all good. I love the boats and river traffic. Tables and benches. Lots of parking. This is a great destination park to enjoy. Note: not a lot of shade to find on a sunny day.

Amazing place to chill and enjoy the day with family. They have a few benches to accommodate your family, but you also can bring yours, like when you go camping.
The lake is amazing, but don't leave your kids unattended because there is no lifeguard on duty. Again, no lifeguard on duty, I can't stress this enough.
If you feel adventurous, you can also rent a small inflatable boat to explore the lake.

Cherry blossom is very pretty here surrounding the whole park.
There’s small beaches and a small pier nearby.
Also, a small Japanese themed garden is there but the pond was dry when I visited.
I guess it would be a good spot for hanging out with kids and family in summer.

I really miss the sand dunes that used to be here but the trails are pretty nice. Wonderful views and a bit of history. Too bad that even though there are many information placards and monuments that there is no recognition of the indigenous people whose land this is. Time to work towards reconciliation.

Very scenic walk of trees, ocean, and gardens. Many great places to take photos.

If you want a free parking spot be prepared to wait for a really long time.
Long line up for concession food.
Park washrooms open till dusk.

Very nice park for cherry blossom view. The chapel looks especially cute with cherry blossoms. It’s walking distance to Richmond center. Major props to the city for creating such a beautiful and tranquil park in the middle of bustling Richmond! Nice little pathways everywhere, and gorgeous water works. There’s even a mini water-fall and a small island. Amazing!

The park was closed for months for the renovation. When we walk in the park, it seems bigger and brighter. Some of the beautiful trees and stairs were removed.
The most important up grade that the park missing is the washroom. Since the park now is seniors wheel chairs friendly, many more seniors can enjoy the park. The only washroom near the lawn bowling is way too outdated and broken. Please send some staff for taking care of it. The new bigger washroom is in need now.
This is a pretty park and good for all ages. The city add many more sitting area and picnic tables along the wide and flat walkway. It means more people will come here. So please up grade the washroom is very important.
If you think the washrooms is an issue, write, email or call the City of Richmond.
Let the beautiful park keeps it's pretty.
The geese management is another issue.

Newly Renovated, very clean and nice layout design, just missing some flowers, not sure if they will come later or they were taken out. Very cute baby ducks and rabbits seen throughout the park. The water feature and bridges were a nice touch but garbage still seen and lots of poop on the ground. Lawn bowling area still there, the paths have changed somewhat

Went for a walk and explored this park for almost an hour. It has nice clear paths to walk on. It has lots of courts, fields and pitches for sports to be played on. Grounds seem to be well maintained and I felt safe walking alone. When the buildings are hidden by the trees, you can forget where you are. Ponds were occupied by quite a few ducks while squirrels and rabbits were all over. Mature trees made this park beautiful and I could have easily done a few more loops around. There's also quite a few benches for you to just sit down and enjoy the fall colors.

The Gulf of Georgia Cannery, a National Historic Site located in Richmond, was constructed during the late 19th century and now houses a fishing museum with guided tours. It gained popularity as a filming location for the TV show Once Upon A Time and offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy fish and chips on its wharf while exploring its charming main street. Additionally, visitors can take advantage of nearby shopping deals at McArthurGlen Designer Outlets.
A great place to explore. Wear a sweater or jacket as it's quite cool inside. They have a very comprehensive display of the history of canning on the west coast, and in this plant in particular. Lots of unique equipment and tools and a very comprehensive history with pictures and signage. 30 to 45 minutes with a nice attached gift shop and knowledgeable and very friendly staff.

Great museum, and very well preserved. The machinery and processes will be very interesting to those of a mechanical mind, and to many others. Thankfully, it no longer smells of fish! Very neat to see the commercial fishing activity still happening all around the museum.

Highly recommend! It's a gem of a museum and historic site. I had no expectations as I didn't do any research on it. Was just in the area and wanted something to do. It is so immersive with the original machinery in place. Looks like they're in the middle of updating the exhibits. I appreciated the acknowledging of the racist past associated with the cannery, salmon fishing and BC's history in general, though I'm sure there's a lot more that can be said about it. We spent about an hour there. Highly recommend.

The gift shop is lovely but I can’t find too many of this cannery's own souvenir.
A big down for me is I was there for the tourism challenge. I used my phone to mark down the answers because there is no pen & paper. Not a problem at all until the staff suspected I got the answers from someone else by text. Even though I explained, the staff still asked me another question out of the challenge trying to prove I was cheating. Which is so disrespectful to a peer in the tourism field. (I am glad I know the answer because I enjoyed the visit, I read everything carefully)

The walk was so nice and peaceful, it's an 8km walk, so u need at least 2.5 hours to do it as they suggest. It's so peaceful there, but quite windy and chilly. We went at 6pm and because it gets dark early so they close the place by 7. As you walk, u can see the planes landing in the airstrip and they fly just above you, it's such a beautiful sight. A must to go if u want to have a quiet peaceful walk and just enjoy the scenery.
The dogs must be leashed. We didn't manage to go far but there is a beach. There are lots of picnic tables on the side, alittle ahead, past the immediate parking (that's right next to the jetty).
I would definitely go again and recommend it.

Paved parking lots are in designated areas. Many washroom on the trails and beaches. Dog friendly trails: on leash and off leash areas/trails. From one side of park (South) is crossing pathf for airplanes landing in Vancouver international airport that's why it's great chance to look some awesome big planes just very close above. Aberdeen Centre has a unique retail concept that caters to the shopping, dining, and personalized entertainment. It’s a good-sized mall, family-friendly that everybody will love. The ‘Fun for Kids’ is an indoor play center at the top level. ‘Stuffy Riders’ is another fun place renting motorized stuffed animal rides for the kids to enjoy.
The mall lobby has monthly events with beautiful displays for the shoppers to explore and experience. This month’s designs are beautiful cherry blossoms and bunnies just in time for Easter. A photo booth is nearby for souvenir photos.
Hmart is a Korean grocery store and the Saint Germain bakeshop is at the ground level near the Browngate Road entrance. Both these stores are best sellers. The foodcourt dining area is at the top level of the mall having varieties of Asian and Western cuisines.
Mall directories are located at the entrance of Cambie Rd. and Hazelbridge Way. The covered parking entrance is at Browngate Road.

So, if It's your first time going. Don't be fooled by Aberdeen Square, the mall is through a strange pedway and then you enter the full part of the mall. Aberdeen center has some of the best shops and assortment of fashion, tea, homewares, food and everything you could want in between. They were also playing live music from an orchestra while we were shopping this past Saturday. One of the best places to shop in Richmond.

This centre is great!, so many stores and options!, the decorations is so stunning!, they have a huge oomomo store, but the best store is the j sweets!, sooo delicious, the food court is big but mostly all sell the same and today most of them only accept cash, definitely is not the best place to eat or take a snack, but there are other great and interesting stores at the centre!

The joint was bustling. Absolutely gargantuan. There’s two shopping malls within this one building, separated by a long hallway. One side is the more consumer focused stores, department stores and toy shops and candy dealers and jewelry. The other side was a lot more business and smaller shops you’d see in an average Markham shopping centre. Travel agencies, insurance companies, etc. Lots of travel agencies. Anyways there’s food courts in both sides so you’ll find yourself with some KFC and bubble waffle in no time.

Free parking garage or paid street parking. The free parking garage is like most Richmond places, chaotic and cramped.
The mall here is mixed of small business and chain shops. Most of the clothing boutiques are more on the expensive side. I think 2-3 hours here is plenty.
The food court is on the third floor filled with cheap eats. Most places are under $13 Canadian and usually includes a soft drink.

Largest Chinese shopping center in the Vancouver area. So many great food at their food court on the third floor.
Easy to access there with a lot of free parking .

This place is immersed in Chinese culture! The beautifully decorated surroundings capture the spirit of Chinese New Year perfectly. The shops offer a great variety, and the ample parking is a plus. While prices might be slightly higher compared to other Chinese malls I've visited before, the overall environment and food court are fantastic. Additionally, there are plenty of fun spots for children to play, making it an enjoyable destination for families.

Great experience shopping here with Carolina, the store manager. She was immensely helpful and friendly, and made the experience thoroughly enjoyable. Thanks a lot for the great service!

I had a great experience with the employees at Lacoste. They were very patient and accommodating which we truly appreciated. The manager, Carolina, was especially helpful as well as the entire team. The selection of all the items was great and the employees were positive and enthusiastic to help. Thank you for making our experience positive!! The service was exemplary.

I have been in this store plenty of times because I love the brand but especially the service provided. Usually, I'm buying clothes and shoes for playing tennis and some casual clothes as well. Every time I go there and Carolina and Sereena are in the store, they help me with great suggestions.
But what I appreciate the most is when I buy products for someone else as a gift, they always take the time to listen to the description of what I'm looking for and sometimes even the description of the person. I don't know how they do it but always they give great recommendations like if it was a “custom suit”

Lack of ambition and professionalism in the staff.
I totally agree with one of the reviews here “The female worker with curly hair and little bit short ( probably latina or asian ) was so rude. No manners at all. Should not working as customer service!!” I have the same feeling, she’s very rude!! Your company should really look into who you guys hired. I don’t feel comfortable shopping there.

Visited a bunch of stores in the outlet and this was the best one that I felt really welcomed and supported. Because I visited there in the middle of a long weekend, they did not have enough stock for each size. It was little frustrating but I still rate the store 5-star. The staff, specially the Asian guy with dyed hair was super helpful and made his effort not let me feel disappointed. He kept offering different options I could consider. 👍

Was decent service until the end. After I paid they said "oh, its final sale and only two weeks return."
It's an old shady sales practice. They are supposed to tell you its final sale before you purchase.

Terrible customer service, the employees don't seem to care nor does anyone really know what they are doing. I understand we all were new to this country at one point in time, but if you are answering the phone at a clothing store, you should be able to have a basic command of the English language. When I spoke to the manager they were rude and reluctant to give me a definitive answer on anything. I highly suggest taking your business elsewhere.

I recently visited the Lacoste store at McArthurGlen to exchange a slightly defective polo tee. Despite having the receipt and proof of purchase, I wasn't sure about the exchange. Carolina and Shina assisted me at the store. They patiently listened to my issue and provided a solution with care and attention. I recently had the pleasure of shopping at Lacoste McArthur Glen, and I cannot express enough how impressed I was with the outstanding service provided by Carolina, Tony, and Kirsten. From the moment I walked through the doors, their dedication to customer satisfaction was evident.

CF Richmond Centre is a spacious and bright shopping mall that features well-known retail stores, as well as quick-service restaurants and sit-down dining options. It boasts unique stores, such as a gold jewelry store and a Mazda dealership. The mall also offers ample Tesla supercharging stations just outside the Bay department store. With a large food court that serves international cuisine options ranging from Korean to Indian to Japanese, there's something for every taste preference.
Most luxurious shopping mall, comparable to park royal. Very tidy and elegant shopping atmosphere.
Parking can be a struggle
Big food court with a high ceiling and many eats.
Everything was good, until the fire alarms went off setting everyone into panic mode and running out of the mall.
That aside, overall shopping experience was great. Would visit again!

My favourite mall in all of Richmond. There’s a few interesting stores that I don’t see elsewhere. If you’re looking for gold jewelry to gift that special person, there’s a store here. If you’re looking to buy a car, there’s a Mazda dealership inside.
If you need to charge your Tesla, there’s an ample amount of super charging stations (20) just outside the Bay department store. However it gets busy.
The food court is huge with global choices from Korean, Indian, Japanese, Thai, or just a classic root bear float at A&W. My friend was in heaven.
The mall is open M-F from 10 am to 8 pm except Sundays is 11 am to 7 pm.

This is the place where we have spent so much time as a family after lunch. We miss this place and there are so many people with energy and smiles on them.
It has changed in some ways like where the foodcourt is, it used to be only 1 floor and a lot of sunlight could enter. It is different now, yet still popular especially the metro is nearby.
Parking is not too bad, but still tight as before. Not too difficult to find a spot, and now it has got Tesla’s charging stations.
Nice place.

Brand new, first in North America, Mazda Boutiqe just opened in Richmond Center a few shops down from the dining terrace escalators. Mazda is moving upscale premium and it shows with this beautiful showroom and interactive client purchase experience. See for yourself this is the brand to watch.

Doesn't have a grocery section aside from Shoppers. There are maps everywhere. The mall is pretty clean. The escalator towards the food court was broken for some time I hope it's fixed now. Has a good selection of stores though.
There are no big attractions like indoor pools, gyms, amusement centers... But it will likely be better once the construction of the condos around it gets completed since it may add more things to look at/go to. I don't exactly know the master plan.
Feels festive during the holidays. Plenty of milk tea options.
It feels safe enough, but I do know that since it's closer to the train station some incidents like bike theft happen around the area. Richmond being a car centric community means there's a lot of parking. It doesn't feel crowded yet. Closing time is much later than the CF Pacific on most days. All in all pretty good.

This mall boasts numerous adorable stores. I often make a pit stop here to juice up my Tesla. While waiting for the charge, I take a leisurely stroll around the mall. The size of the place strikes a balance between being sizable and intimate. It seems like they're expanding, with ongoing construction and a sign promising more retail and condos.
The food court appears decent, but not particularly thrilling. In my opinion, Aberdeen Mall offers fewer shops but more impressive dining establishments. There's a well-known restaurant named Kirin that shares the parking lot, though it does come with a hefty price tag. Exploring the vicinity of the mall reveals a plethora of dining options.

I used to love shopping at the Richmond center, it had all trendy shops and I was shopping there a lot. But after a few years of pandemic, many shops have closed their doors, and right now it only has a few left, and there are many empty spots for leasing. If it continues like this, it will not attract customers. You urgently need a strategy to get out of the current situation. There are opportunities. You can either position yourself for high end customers that do have money, or for unbeatable prices. Temu is so popular right now do have its reasons. No one can beat their prices. Middle class' buying power has been weakened and they're struggling with their debts. To attract high end customers, you need impeccable services, you need to know their products and their languages. Hope this helps, good luck!

Wonderful play area by the sea. Great hiking/biking path. Older kids will enjoy the play area, but it's not for toddlers. Oversees the Vancouver airport so will often see planes mostly taking off and with a few landing. Sea planes also fly overhead quite frequently. The big slide was a hit. Says it is for ages eight and up however our guy used it without difficulty. Kids at the park seemed fun to play with. Most had good manners and attitudes. The zip lines were popular and we were glad to see there were two of them. We also went for a short walk down some of the trails and plan to try those again next time. The free park is split into two parts by Hwy 99. The main part, with the washrooms and nature exhibits, is on the westside with the free parking entrance off of Westminster Hwy close to No.5 Road.
There is a playground on the west side, and I recommend the exhibits for a family outing to learn about bees, snakes, birds, hiking trails, etc. I've been told that dogs are not allowed on this side.
I took my dogs to the smaller east side of the park across the street from the auto mall. The parking entrance is on Jacombs Road, and note that this side does not have washrooms.
A picnic table is available in a grassy area at the start of the trail, and garbage can for the poop bags in the parking lot.
The trails are being redone now with more bark mulch, and the wooden board walk repaired as of March 2024.
It's great to get the dogs out to explore and smell. They loved getting wet in the bog under the boardwalk, so remember to bring towels.
If you have a small dog, beware that both sides of the park are known to have coyotes.

The Richmond Olympic Experience (ROX) is situated along the waterfront pathway, positioned in the speed skating venue that was previously used during the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games. It offers visitors an opportunity to simulate what it feels like to compete as a world-class athlete. Meanwhile, Steveston, a charming fishing village located at the southern edge of Richmond, also provides tourists with fish and chips on its historic wharf and a chance to take a stroll down its picturesque main street.
My 3 person family have been members for years. Good programs for kids. The gym is nice. Overlooks the huge open area. The Ice is great. Stick and puck and free skating is good. Unfortunately stick and puck is only scheduled twice a week.

This is the stop on our trip with the most pictures. The kids, parents and grandparents had a fun interactive time. The docents were very nice and full of interesting information. It wasn’t too busy. The simulators were the best and really helped my kids understand the sport better. We also liked the exhibit of mascots, exhibit of torches and exhibit of medals. The docents were very kind and encouraged my youngest child (4) to try a couple of activities. And she loved them.
Not shown here, but loved are: reaction time games, paraolympic skiing simulator, exhibits of torches and medals and a video game that mimics your body but shows the neural system.

Visiting the Richmond Olympic Oval with my family was a highlight of our weekend. This place isn’t just a building; it’s a journey through the Olympics, filled with stories, history, and lots of fun activities.
The architecture is impressive and sets the scene for an exciting adventure into the world of Olympic sports. Walking through, you get to see all kinds of exhibits that take you through Olympic history, showing off the achievements and the spirit of the Games.
What really stood out for us was the interactive simulators. My kid absolutely loved them! It was a joy to see the excitement as they got to ‘compete’ in Olympic sports. It gave us all a taste of what athletes go through, making the visit educational and fun.
The staff were friendly and really knew their stuff, adding to the experience with stories behind the exhibits.
Besides being a great place to learn about Olympic history, the Oval encourages staying active. Seeing the community use the facilities for sports and fitness was inspiring.

The Olympic experience at the Richmond Oval was fun and entertaining but much smaller than I thought it was going to be. There are some really fun simulations that you can take part in including riding in a bobsleigh, maneuvering a sit ski, and completing a ski jump. As an Olympics fanatic, it was a must-do for me, but I definitely don't think everyone would enjoy it. I would plan about an hour to an hour-and-a-half.

I really enjoyed the wall-climbing experience here. They have walls for people of almost every level. From beginner to pro, you will never feel as if they don’t have anything for you. Only thing is that since this place is mainly used by people for professional climbing, the walls all look pretty much the same, so it’s not really for people who go to different wall climbing areas for parties and also to try out the different looking walls.

Interactive exhibits are OK but limited in number and in true interactivity. But they’ve done the best they can within the right space constraints at the Oval. Staff and volunteers are friendly and plentiful. Some volunteers have somewhat limited knowledge about the sports, equipment, and/or memorabilia on display. That’s fine but frustrating when they hover around in effort to “explain” everything to guests despite their lack of true knowledge.

Fun place to visit with family. Make sure you go through the “museum” part of the experience. You get to experience/play the sports! We are family if 3 and we had great fun afternoon in this place!

A well maintained dyke pathway that runs north from Garry Point Park to Terra Nova and has distance markers for those keeping track. This is the westerly part of a larger trail around Richmond and is walkable year-round.

At the current moment (2021-01-03) the west dyke trail is damp and contains little puddles. Trail is groomed with many cyclists, runners, walkers and dog walkers using it. There's also washroom facilities that're fairly lit up (lights went on as I typed this). Nice views of the marshes and horizon.

Beautiful place to take a walk. Pedestrians and cyclists seem to respect each other and allow each other enough space. Now, if people would only pick up after their dogs it would be great!

The River Rock Casino Resort is a luxurious, upscale resort hotel located on the banks of the Colorado River. It offers a casino as well as an indoor pool and spa, plus 24-hour casino gambling. The suites are spacious and comfortable, and there is free parking available.
High quality casino. Smoke free and not too loud. Staff is great, and a fun night out with friends.
Hotel is expensive, but 5 stars! Water slide and pool area is warm, lots of food options at reasonable prices for our family. I will be back 😊

I had dinner at the buffet last evening and most of the experience was amazing. My only issue was that many of the items were not replenished when they ran out. As a result, we were limited by what options we had to choose from.
The desert area was nearly completely empty, which while probably more healthy for me, was still sad to see.
On the fence as to whether I would return, the food I was able to get was really good but for $50 I think I got more like about $30 of value.

Over priced, under serviced. Don't waste your time. I was booked in this hotel by a company that thought they were doing me a favour, happy it was for work, if it had of been a personal stay, I would have left. Two stays in two months and terrible service both times. I will never return. Customer service is absent, and they are disinterested in resolving concerns in a meaningful way. If you are in the "south" tower... you're going to have a train rumble past your room regularly and flights overhead. There are better options nearby. During my second stay, I actually moved to the Ascent and had a much more restful night.

I came to check out the buffet! I love the location, atmosphere, parking was easy, the food was amazing and the service was fantastic! Seating by the window was delightful, we saw the blue herons and the planes flying over and a nice view of the bridge.
Thank you for your hospitality! We will definitely return!

First of all, not really a lot of options for kids, unless they like to swim or can be taken on the sky train. Stayed at the hotel section across from the entrance, which on Google is rated at four stars. To be clear, all amenities are located in the casino portion and not the hotel. The hotel has great access to the sky, train and bus routes in addition to car sharing and taxi services. The casino has a food court, a buffet, Starbucks and lounge bistro. There is a space for an Italian restaurant, but that has closed and looks to be a future spot for a Gordon Ramsay restaurant. Additionally, the food court is inside the casino area, making it not accessible to children. The pool and spa area are down a weirdly planned hallway, making the journey rather awkward and as if you will turn into a maintenance closet at the end. Who is this hotel for? People wanting to watch a show or gamble who do not have children. Those on a quick trip to Vancouver who do not want to stay in downtown but like access to downtown and the airport. To be clear, access to transportation and the airport is fantastic so location is a four-star. The hotel overall, is a 3.5 star.

Buffet is great as are the servers, very professional and friendly. However, bring your own salt, pepper and sugar because there’s none on the table. After filling up my plate, I come back to the table and realize there are no condiments. Of course, the servers will get it for me, but they are so busy I feel guilty asking them to bring me what is normally on the table of every fine dining establishment I’ve ever been to.

We have been to the River Rock 4 times, the service and hospitality is Standard at best… Never impressed.
My standards are not exceptionally high, but as a traveller that has been to many places the River Rock Hotel Casino could do a lot better.
We do gamble, and the machines are wound tight and we never win much there, Don’t waste your time.
Their room prices are also high for the service they offer.
Based on the overall experience, we will not be returning.
There are other hotels in the vicinity that exceeded the River Rock.
Disappointed to say the least.

Great hotel staff, awesome buffet upstairs, little pricey but worth it, and within the casino, the food court has great burgers, pizza, and Chinese food. Chef Ramsey's restaurant isn't open as of last visit but soon I hear. The casino boasts some excellent slot games great variety of 1¢ to $1 slot denominations. Table games are plenty as well with side rooms and private for those wanting discreet and quiet gambling time. Slot also has two high roller areas which are hit and miss depending on time of day for crowd. I personally haven't seen it packed in those rooms for slots but that is the time of day I have been there. Overall this Hotel Casino is on the top of my list in the Vancouver lower mainland area. The staff are incredible very knowledgeable and always there to answer any questions or concerns you may have, and that's a big plus. They are there if you win a large sum and make sure that you get home safely. A beautiful setting too, right on the mighty Fraser River on Lulu Island in Richmond, close to the airport and the Canada Line runs right to it at the Bridgeport Station where buses and SkyTrain meet. Cabs are always there and Valet parking available for those who drive in. Ample parking with two large parking lots that are covered except the top floors. Hotel is on both sides of the complex as it is split between by a road but for those staying on the east side of the complex there is an overhead walk to get you into the main part of the lobby and the casino is on the main floor. This resort has some of the friendliest staff I've come to know which elevates

Hotel layout and staffing issues hold River Rock from even a satisfactory score.
Booking
Scheduling was simple and easy. Staff were polite, showed an understanding of the layout of the property, had suggestions for surrounding activities, and were able to follow up after booking with relevant updates.
I was impressed with the follow up that the pool was going to be closed for maintenance during my stay. Most hotels are not organized or thoughtful enough for that.
Phone System
I found that the phone issues plagued the River Rock.
From booking, and through the entire stay, callers from outside or inside the hotel are not able to consistently speak with staff. I had the line put me on a hold for long periods of time, drop the call, or hang up the call. Staff explained that the lines were so busy that calls were no longer properly working.
Parking
The River Rock has paid parking across the street from its suites, and then has its own parking that is 10 minutes walk from the hotel.
This is probably a disputed point because you can walk into the casino within probably 5 minutes which would subject hotel guests to the entire length of gambling activities.
But if that's not satisfactory then you will have to take the long scenic route along the back end next to the mini Marina or through the front with a mix of casino and hotel traffic and taxis.
Distance aside, guests - including suites - do not have reserved spaces for easy access. You must compete in a free for all with gambling guests and public until you give up entirely to park on the roof with employees.
Only one set of elevators were functioning at the time of this writing, and your lack of awareness of this may mean climbing stairs back to your car.
Food
Staff are overworked here. You can see the same staff working days at a time and they're running.
I think standard fare like burgers and fries may be passable but Asian offerings are tasteless. When the food was delivered, no plates or cutlery were offered or included.
Plumbing
Top floors for suites have challenged plumbing. I ran hot water for some time before getting the temperature right.
Wet bar sink was plugged, but staff were able to fix this at a time I requested.
Housekeeping
Staff explained that rooms would not be cleaned each day, but requests can be made for cleaning. I forget what interval they were offering.
First night, pillows smelled like someone's sweat.
Housekeeping staff were very capable, and answered any requests if things needed to be topped up. They were ready to clean the room according to my schedule as well.
Customer Service/Management
I wanted to discuss my issues with the manager. Benjamin Lawrence was supposed to get in touch but never did.

The location is superb, the casino is smoke free, the restaurants are very good, there is a theater with some big name people that come through, the pool area is very Resortish with a water slide for kids and a large hot tub. It has a great gym and overall the rooms are spotless super clean and very comfortable! The staff is amazingly friendly, it's within walking distance of many restaurants in Richmond, and the Light Rail station stops right at the casino parking garage so you could just walk across the sky Bridge into the casino

Great service and hospitality. The staff on my floor (8) were amazing during my stay. I was here for a conference, and staff directed me with confidence and ensured I got to my conference room. Rooms are great and comfortable. I did not hear any other guests, so the rooms may be insulated adequately. The shower was interesting to figure out, the tap has two levers and thr smaller of the two dictates temperature and if your taking a shower, you will need to put the faucet neck (where the water comes out) to make the shower work. All in all, it was a great stay.

Spacious room, good amenities, clean. And service is good. However parking lot is very located remotely so inconvenient when checking in and out unless you have valet parking. Casino in the first floor. In day time, airplanes pass just above the hotel so pretty annoying if you want to stay quiet.

Nothing too special about the room, but no complaints either. Our window faced the Marina which was a nice view. Being near the airport meant we got to see/hear multiple planes flying overhead. We enjoyed it, but some might not appreciate the noise.
The main reason we stay here is the 7 minute walk to the Richmond night market. Super convenient to not have to deal with parking. I would highly recommend staying here if you're coming down for the market!! :)

From the USA and Came for Labor Day weekend and stayed the night and the rooms are decent but not like what was stated on the website and if you’re looking to win good luck. I spend 2k betting high bets on the slots and didn’t even get a bonus and it’s not even native reservation. I recommend not coming here if you’re looking to win a dollar and for Canada i thought it was good Sevice but nope..

As someone who is a world traveler, there’s some things I look for during the stay. The River Rock has so many things that we loved. We stayed there along with friends recently. We loved the pool, the spa services (Lillian who does facials is amazing so go see her), and the staff. Most memorable were the crew at the Curve Lounge. In our first day, we sat there and I ordered a Cosmo and met Alan. In addition to being super friendly and funny, he’s a genius. He made it his mission from the start to play with the flavors of my drink to craft it exactly as I like it. Brad and others made excellent food recommendations. During our 4 day stay, Alan and the staff took time to know and greet us by name. Would we stay here again? Absolutely! Would we recommend it? Absolutely! Don’t trust me though, go experience it for yourself.

EDIT: Spoke with senior executive management, who took ownership of the poor front desk experience, apologized, explained how the situation arose, and "made it right". Can't say enough good things about how they turned this experience around. Would absolutely return for another stay in the future.
Hotel refused to honour my reservation and rate, despite my having a reservation e-mail confirming it from over a month ago. Poor service. Front desk manager was not helpful and started getting into an argument with me at 12:30am with my ten year old in tow.
I feel bad for the rest of the front desk team, who had a much better attitude and demeanour.
The rooms are also clean and nice, and the property is easily accessible from the airport.
None the less, 1 star review across the board. As someone who has stayed countless nights here, and as someone who books people here as part of work travel, I won't be back.

We stay here a few times a year, particularly because it’s a great location. Not pleased about the recent junk charges.
1. Resort fee
The hotel is starting to look outdated and worn. Guest parking not very convenient.
Definitely not a resort in my opinion.
2. 2% up charge if using credit card (cash not accepted)
3. Destination Marketing Fee of 1%
I made it very clear that I was not willing to pay the destination fee.
This is a fee which is not advertised or posted.Manager called later today and said that they would make a one time exception and refund the fee.
We will explore other options.
Resort will not only loose our hotels stay.
No more gambling during our stays and of course no reason to have meals there either.

Don't book here unless you really just want a casino. Other hotels nearby are much higher quality and better value. Baths are sized for children and you can hear any noise coming from the hallway, however how faint it is. Only good thing about the room is its clean. These rooms are much closer to a 2-star motel than an actual 4-star hotel.

All food in there is terrible so just make sure to eat somewhere else. The Story Cafe is close by and amazing so check that out for food and drinks instead.
Drinks here are very expensive. Around ten bucks a beer and 20 bucks a shot so way too expensive.
Elevator...everyone including their staff sharing the same elevator so it takes a long time
Pool and hot tub are amazing but beware, there are TONS of kids who take it up during the day.

This was my first time staying at this hotel and I was so excited to be attending the coast city country concert. I have done quite a bit of travelling in the last three years and have stayed at low end motels and high end hotels. Upon entering the room it was clear that this room was not clean. There was remaining remnants of food in the fridge, the fridge didn’t work, there was fingerprints and some kind of weird substance on the door to the patio. Under the cabinet there was a chunk of an old granola bar. In the bathroom there was hair in the shower, biological spray all over the mirror. Immediately I was turned off. We also could not open the patio door due to the lock being too close and it was very hard to turn.
The front desk sent up a maintenance man and he was lovely. Kind and very polite and even shared some information with us that made us instantly happy with his service.
However later the cleaning was addressed but the cleaning was never done or if it was, it didn’t address the issues. It made it hard to enjoy the hotel and it was apparent that standards had obviously failed and possibly due to Covid. However in this time of so many transmittable diseases you would think extra care and attention would be paid in the hotel room.
At the end of my stay they compensated me 35$ which I felt was a slap in the face. However I wish they had done this at the beginning of my stay and i could have gone out and got my own cleaning supplies.
We also ordered breakfast on their online menu and that didn’t work either.
All in all I was very disappointed and won’t recommend it to anyone.
Sad as i had heard so many wonderful things.

We got the suite for a couple of nights. Very impressed with the room. It was clean of course but the small details of the room, paint, fixtures, fit and finish was top notch. The king bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I've slept in. Very happy!

The Curves restaurant is terrible. It's slow. We tried it the first time and you couldn't even get a glass of water. Was nearly 2 hours to get your water, order, get your food (45 min wait) and pay your tab.
We tried again for breakfast this morning and was the same garbage. I don't know if it is lack of staff, slow kitchen, or what, but Curves is complete garbage for a fast casual place.
In comparison the buffet was great with excellent service.
The location and proximity to the metro is nice, but that is about it. The casino was boring and most table games wanted $25/min to play. All-in-all it is crossed off my list for life. Will not have a repeat visit.

Custodial staff were excellent. Fresh everything each morning. Hotel was clean and comfortable. I was a bit upset with the food selection and hours of service however. Restaurants in the casino seem to close early. Had to settle for convenience store selections one evening. Not a deal breaker, just need to plan meals a bit in advance.

I didn’t think I booked on a different tower. The casino and pool were on the other hotel with the possible waterfront view. I do like the rooms we got and it was conveniently located where the night market was at. It’s definitely a classy place to stay in when you’re in Richmond, Canada.

Close enough to the airport and right at the casino. Mainly staying here for the location. The rooms are kinda old. The TV really should be updated. The mini fridge did not work at all, but they gave us a slight discount after we made it known to them. If you don't plan on staying in the rooms for long, it's not that big of a deal. Relatively clean.

Parking sucks for hotel guests. Too far of a walk. But all else was great! Room upgrade was unexpected and had lots of espresso in room along with complimentary bottles water. Good views too. Wish I could have stayed longer. But if I'm back in Vancouver I'll come here again. Decent casino too. Didn't try any food here this time around.

When I was booking this hotel I was initially nervous about the mixed reviews. I think a lot of one-star reviews are from people who are looking for something to complain about. My unbiased perspective of the River Rock is that it is a perfectly fine four stars. We got a one bedroom suite with sofa bed in the west tower. The room was mostly clean and comfortable. My one real complaint about the rooms would be that the walls are very thin, and you can hear people inside and outside of the rooms. The pool area was lovely. Warm pool and nice hot tub. The casino was fun, although we didn’t win any money. Being next to the Sky Train was a bonus, too. Starbucks and Convenience store are located on the main level which was nice. Overall I would recommend this hotel if you’re looking for easy access back to the airport and into the city.

Extremely poor customer service both at check in and checkout. Front desk staff unfriendly and uninformative. Had to prompt the desk clerk at check in even after explaining it was our first time there. Desk staff at checkout was disinterested and did not quality check my visit. There was a fire alarm that went off while we were in the room. There was no mention of the alarm at checkin but an announcement came on in the hallway just prior to the alarm sounding. The alarm went on for at least 5 min and was very loud. He claimed that someone set off the alarm .
There was no offer of any compensation whatsoever. I asked for a discount and the clerk wasn’t going to offer anything until I asked to speak to the manager. He finally waved the $15 resort fee.
Another poor policy that wasn’t mentioned until I questioned the bill amount, was that they charge a 2% fee for credit card payments. I have never seen this before. If I had known that at check in, I would have gladly paid by debit.
The whole customer service experience left a very bad impression and we will not return.
We have stayed at 3 star hotels with far superior service.

I was here for a conference and left a bit disappointed in the room quality. The bathtub was stained, multiple outlets didn't work, and when I tried to turn on my reading light, it just fell out of the wall. Overall felt a bit outdated. Also, there was no easy access to an outlet near the nightstand - I had to pull the nightstand out from the wall in order to plug my phone in at night.
That said, the woman at the front desk was very friendly and informative on check in, and the proximity to the train can't be beat. I was able to walk right out of the hotel into the station each evening and go grab dinner, and was also able to take the train directly to and from the airport.

This location is awful. IF you win at Double deck blackjack, they will bar you for alleged advantage play and this will make playing at other properties impossible. I do not recommend going here if you want to actually win. This location does not promote responsible gaming whatsoever and all they want to do is take your money. I suggest playing at the Gateway properties including Grand Villa, Starlight or Cascades Langley as they offer better games, better food choice and more selection. STAY AWAY From here if you don't want to lose your money.

I was very unimpressed with the service I received at this hotel. Before arrival we had checked availability online and decided to wait and book in person. Upon arrival the unfriendly person at the front desk offered us the cheapest room. When we asked to upgrade to a larger size we were told that it was “too expensive”. Completely unprofessional for this worker to comment on what they think I can afford, not to mention a terrible business strategy for the hotel. We should have taken our money elsewhere after that comment but unfortunately we were exhausted from travel. I then was told my total and gave my card to pay and it was not until later that I noticed the extra 100 dollar charge, which wouldn’t have been a problem if I had been informed. Parking was confusing and far from the hotel. Our room was so hot and stuffy and the bathroom wall falling apart with no working fan. Truly expected better for the rating and the price. Save your money and stay elsewhere.

This rating is strictly based off of service - I did not gamble but was hoping to find food.
Attendants giving different answers for directions for both washrooms and dining. One blonde older lady with clear glasses sassed me when I asked politely multiple times where any restaurant is, telling me to go outside of the casino to eat at the Chinese restaurant, maybe because I'm Chinese.....I didn't even ask for Chinese food.. so yes I feel that she was being racist. The sass is so hard that it kind of ruins the rest of your day. Very disappointing for casino service

The hotel was lovely and the staff were great. I did not like the two female dealers at the craps table. The table games are automated now with machines and the "shooter" comes up to the table with a camera watching that streams out to the other players on machines. The table dealers basically have little to do now. They were consistently having their own side conversation, disinterested in the game and certainly not enthusiastic at all. It was such a vibe killer. They also disregarded very common craps table superstitions of saying the word 7 when the point is on. This is basic etiquette whether you believe in luck or not. I hardly play anymore except on vacation and it was such a let down to see this cold, impersonal, and unengaging atmosphere. Where is the FUN? People gamble to have a good time and this was not it..I won sixty cents, so this isn't about losing just the really lame set up. I have suggestions if they were at all interested.

Probably the worst casino experience I've ever had. I'd recommend literally any other casino before this one. Some of the rules at this casino make you feel like you're in a socialist country or being ruled by some totalitarian government. No outside food or drink in the hotel rooms? Absolutely archaic. Witnessed a group get denied entry because they "looked too intoxicated" when to me they looked absolutely fine. I bet that rattled their whole night.
The worst rule of them all was a restriction of 2 ounces of liquor every hour. Got denied a drink and told to wait 18 minutes. Never experienced something so stupid before in Canada. Honestly I got second hand embarrassment being in this casino after being in many other casinos before.
Avoid, go to a different casino.

Beautiful spot. Close to home. The tunnel covered in grape vines was beautiful. Live music was a nice touch at the summer picnic event. The charcuterie box was fresh and quite and filling. Front staff wasn’t helpful or very customer service oriented though, basically they shoved us along without saying much. My biggest complaint was that they had no allergen or ingredient list along with the snacks . I called in advance they said to ask when I come in. When I came in they said I should have called ahead. Not very helpful. Nice venue though, the tasting was lots of fun and a great price! Picked up a couple bottles on the way out.

and I realized I've been fooled. All dessert wines that I tasted were fake before I visited here. I realized why Canada is famous for ice wine. I wish I can buy more in my country.
It would be nice if you tell me when the brewery facilities are operate during before making a reservation. Consider it.

We came here for a group discovery tour on a weekend. When we arrived, the parking lot was full and we realized they had a pet event that day. When we went into the winery, it was full of people and dogs and it was quite loud too.
The tour itself was underwhelming because the tour guide took us to 2 different rooms and told us we could rent them for weddings (which was awkward). We were hoping he would tell us more about the history of the winery and the wines but it just sounded all very sale-like and kept wanting us to buy wine. It was very different from the wine tours I attended at Okanagan. During the wine tasting, it felt rush. The tour guide told us what wine were tasting and then he had to run off to another group so we were left to ourselves tasting our wine. I wish the tour guide was less distracted and more attentive. I would not come back again for another wine tour because the tour guide doesn’t appear to be enthusiastic about the tour itself and it was too saley.

Four of us went to Lulu Island Winery for the Wine Tasting and Tour and it was fantastic. I can't believe it's taken me so long to visit this winery, seeing that it's so close. Robert gave us a winery tour and although I've been to many wine tastings, I've never done a tour and it was so interesting. Robert was a fabulous host and tour guide with great tips for wine pairings and sold us all on the Raspberry Fruit Wine. Friday night there was live music, cheese plates and Happy Hour pricing. We all loved it and will definitely be going back.

First time at this lovely winery. Thank you to Kelley who did an excellent job presenting our wine samples. We were a group of 11 from our Social Committee and live nearby. After our tasting, we enjoyed a glass out side as well. We will be back for sure and will ask for our fabulous presenter, Kelley! Cheers!

We rented out the Olympic room from Lulu Island Winery for my baby’s first birthday, and it was an awesome area to have, occupying all of our guests with plenty of space to walk around. Tiffany was a big help before and after the event! She walked us through the room before setting up to show us what is available for use, and afterwards she provided us with a box to help encase the birthday cake. Deborah gave us a tour around the winery a couple weeks prior to the event and gave us ideas on how to arrange the party. Big thank you to everyone at Lulu!
Richmond Olympic Oval is a former Olympic speed skating venue equipped with multiple ice rinks, sports fields, and a spacious fitness center. The gym provides exceptional guidance and insights on fitness and training led by knowledgeable staff. The indoor climbing wall facility is top-notch with friendly trainers who make the experience welcoming and enjoyable. Overall, the gym offers well-ventilated Covid-safe facilities with good equipment making it an ideal destination for fitness enthusiasts.
The indoor climbing wall facility was top-notch. The staff are knowledgeable and supportive. On my first visit and climbing experience, they made us feel welcomed and made our experience a blast. The trainers were friendly and encouraging.

An important venue for Richmond for sports and events. I have taken my child here many times for skating and other events and the facility is great. The one thing that bothers me is the internet connection is horrible. I always get disconnected using the wifi, but if you have a good data plan it would not be a problem.

The facilities are perfect, the staff are courteous, and the building is beautiful. 10/10 Would go again

The Fitness Center it would be out of business in less than a year if it wasn't heavily subsidized by tax payers.
I've genuinely never seen a place where there's random nuts a bolts, pieces of the racks and broken mirror constantly just laying on the ground. All the while hundreds of thousands has been spent on overly complicated cardio equipment with feature I've never seen anyone use, novelty equipment like the rope machine/body fat scanner, the new Precor machines that are mostly broken and is almost a downgrade from the previous machines.
The Oval as a whole is decent place for the community but the Fitness center is extremely mismanaged and insult to tax payers plus a liability due the gross negligence. To be clear the issue seems to be the management and not the other employees.
Edit 2023-12-28 for Oval response:
Can you elaborate on which part of my review is misinformation. I don't believe you could provide any type of maintenance record showing the gym equipment has been maintained properly, but I can assure you that people can walk into the Oval any time and find broken pieces of equipment.
The broken mirror for example took multiple months to fix and you just let pieces of it fall off during that entire time. Any member can attest to that.
The PDF you linked shows $16,844,247 in expenses, $17,571,433 revenue and $8,048,501 Memberships, admissions and programs. I'd also encourage you to show the financial figures of the fitness center compared to any of the other community centers.
I do agree that you certainly have a diverse amount of poorly maintained and selected equipment. For example the rope machine originally mentioned you saw that no one used it so you got another one.

We were told maximum of 60 people with the drop in adult section for basketball, there were more than 80 people when we walked in, we paid $20 for the entry, and didnt even get to shoot at all(waited for an hour and a half by the way), so we decided to leave, since there were only 20minutes left until they closed, we spoke to the staff about our concern, but they were very unhelpful, we were told that nothing they can do. every single court was full with people playing full court or half court games. Absolutely no control of the capacity, wasted $20 for 3 of us, and didnt even get to play. They should really enforce the capacity if they stated 60 people maximum on the their registration site .

A great athletic facility. They have rinks, courts, nets, climbing wall and a gym. Outdoor beach volleyball in summer. Membership is reasonable and comes with a lot of extras including free classes. For parents they do have childcare. Multiple bike racks allow easy parking. They have several hundred stalls under the building for cars though it is pay. Transit is minimal but not a long walk from major bus lines or the Canada line.
Ben Klein — Google review
You really have to be using multiple spaces (gym, basketball, rock climbing) to get value out of the membership. Dispite the marketing image the gym is not the gold standard of training. A lot of the equipment is becoming dated and is not better than most community centers offerings. Most new machines that have been brought in to replace old pieces have been worse than previous machines and break consistently. A lot of equipment is in poor repair.
Generally the gym needs a purchaser that understand modern training and offerings and trends in the equipment sector to bring in equipment that would justify the consistently increasing membership rates.
Gyms like RSF, Fit-topia, the bar and more have accomplished a much better selection of quality equipment with lower or similar membership rates. And most real athletes will find themselves gravitating away from the oval.
If the oval wants to elevate its self from being a community center it should be bringing in top notch machines and equipment that other places can't get. Atlantis, Rogue, Prime, Elieko. Multiple benches, machines, and stations to reduce wait times and provide variety.

Love here. One of the reasons why I don’t want to move to other city. The staff members and people who visit here are both very nice. The only complaint is the system. It isn’t smart like a system should be in 2024, and it makes mistakes.

Was there for a Provincial volleyball tournament over Easter. Hadn't been there in years. Just as impressive as I remember. Wish we had one in Nanaimo! Only issue I had was lack of seating, and layout of the courts for spectators. We ended up sitting on the floor for most of it, and we are older parents, so wasn't good for our knees. Would have given a higher rating, but one of the staff took my seat away from me because it was one of the padded seats from a computer station. Back to the floor.

Nathan Wong is the best part about this gym, he made this gym worth coming too, his guidance and insights on fitness and training made my gym experience exceptional. If you're new to fitness and the gym he is absolutely the one to go to. The other staff pale in comparison. The gym itself is pretty good, well ventilated covid safe with good equipment, but you go here, for Nathan.

Been a member since 2015. Spend at least 3 days a week here. There’s no other gym like it in Richmond. It’s an all inclusive facility that gives me access to fitness and more. Love this place.

Dropped in to use the running track for a key speed workout since it was too snowy to do it outside.
Unfortunately, the 200m oval is blocked off on one corner for bouldering, and you cannot actually run all the way around it. Instead, there is a 100m straight on the far side along the back windows to run laps on - not ideal for longer intervals with the 180 turns, but hey I'll take what I can get.
It is definitely an option for speedwork if it's unsafe to do outside, and you don't want to do it on the treadmill.
I had never been before, so I had to register for an account at the counter. The process was quick and painless. The facilities seemed very nice. Obviously, as a runner, I had hoped the running oval had been usable - but I do understand indoor tracks are generally not needed often here due to mild weather. Overall I enjoyed my visit, and was happy to have completed my workout.

I love using the gym here but there is never any parking on the weekends due to events. Literally had to leave and skip working out today (Saturday) because I didn’t want to drive around for 20+ minutes. Update: On Sunday morning, at around 12 PM there was no parking again.

I’ve had gym memberships at a number of gyms in the lower mainland. The Richmond Oval is absolutely the best facility and is head and shoulders above the rest. When I’m in town, I attend the Oval everyday. I workout upstairs in the fitness centre, take personal training sessions and attend fitness classes. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful. The Olympic Museum is a neat place to visit. When I have guests in town, the Oval is always a favourite tourist spot.

It is a beautiful facility, and you will pay a price that reflects that beauty. I have been an off and on member. I can always tell when a facility is focused on member engagement and I never got the sense that member satisfaction was their primary focus. The few times when I brushed up against decisions they had made that I felt were a bit “tone-deaf”, I did not get the sense that my opinion mattered, even slightly. I’m staying away for now, but hopefully it will get back on track at some point…

Don’t know why is registration needed for drop in. The website for signing up also keeps crashing and ask you to start over again and again. I was trying to go in for a morning climbing session but told that it won’t be open until noon. Very odd for a climbing gym. I know a lot of working professionals try to sneak in their climbing sessions before work in the morning, won’t be able to do that here. Apparently there is a timetable for their facility hour somewhere on the website, which is also impossible to navigate. The open time for the climbing wall is inconsistent throughout the week. Definitely recommend checking before going.
The facility looks nice and the staff was friendly and helpful. The system seems over complicated for no obvious reason.

This review is of the Oval as a tourist destination, and not based on any of the businesses within.
There is lots to discover here; the outdoors has many places to sit and watch the water (or airplanes flying overhead, as it is near the airport), the architecture is magnificent, and there are lots of stories being told by the surrounding artwork.
There are free, outdoor places to play beach volleyball, chess, ping pong, and others, and a beautiful garden.
There is a dog fountain outside of the parkade that was not functioning during my visit.

Interesting but would have made a bit more sense if there was a guide. The train part has a guide and I loved that.
p.s. forgot to add... There were a few other places that you can check out within the general vicinity as well; Train station and Britannia Shipyard. You get some lovely pictures as well as learning about the history of the area. Definitely should visit if you're in the area. Spent about half a day walking around the different sites.

A serene and grand Buddhist temple of the Ling Yen Forest sect of Pure Land Buddhism. The monks and volunteers here were very nice and helpful, and the temple has a highly resourceful information center. Their library has a huge amount of books on the Ling Yen temples and Buddhism, which you can take and read, however, the dharma texts and larger books have to be signed out. Behind the temple, they have a peaceful garden. In the Guanyin Pagoda, you can also get free blessed water, but take only one and leave the rest for others. The main halls are very beautiful, and are good for prayers. The temple also provides many services and recitation practices.

Lingyen Mountain Temple (Canada) is a traditional Buddhist temple that offers many different services to the community throughout the year.
Although I am not a Buddhist, I joined the Chinese New Year Ringing the Bell Blessing Service in January. I arrived at 11 pm, and many people crowded the temple. However, the staff there is amiable and patient, explaining its custom and how to go through all the procedures. Many items (including books, vegan receipts, CDs, and even water) are freely distributed (of course, you are welcome to donate to the construction of the 3rd phase of the temple). And there is a souvenir mug, which is free to collect after completing all the procedures. However, due to a customs issue, the cup will be available in March. Our family is fascinated to experience all these services and learn much about Buddhism that evening.
We did receive the mug last week, and it is well made. After we took the cup, we had the opportunity to explore the temple even more. The environment is quiet and harmonious. We notice a restaurant offering vegan food too, which is excellent news for vegetarians. Lastly, the staff there are amiable and willing to answer many questions about the temple (even basic questions about Buddhism).

Nice, calm and tranquil place. Lit up with beautiful lanterns, it's the perfect place to spend doing fun activities like getting your fortune, making wishes and sipping lavender tea on lunar new year's eve. End the night with a prayer service led by the honorable abbott and the ringing of the bell. English translation this year was a bonus.

The farm is a nice place to visit. The old house has been recovered and is so beautiful now! We were welcomed by a lovely staff, who kindly explained to us some details about the farm's history. As the tea service isn't available yet (it'll start on June 20), I bought homemade grape jam. It's easy to get there by public transportation.
After getting out of the bus, you walk 1.6km while enjoying a beautiful landscape. In addition, that part of Richmond is appropriate to ride a bike and walk.

I would not drive all the way here if I were a tourist with limited time in Greater Vancouver. But as a local, it's a nice nook to stop when going to Richmond. Heritage house, tea room, little nice garden. And they have hand made soap, with subtle pleasant aroma, which has "made in BC" label - great gift for those from other provicces visiting BC.
