Springbank Park is a spacious recreational area located along the Thames River in London. This park boasts of several amenities including trails, picnicking spots, soccer fields and Storybook Gardens. It offers various activities like cycling with family, outdoor barbecues, leisure walks, jogging and rollerblading among others. The parking lot provides access to numerous paths leading to different parts of the park while allowing visitors to witness kayaking enthusiasts and migrating birds on the river.
Favourite park in London so far! It’s a big park with lots of recreational activities (e.g biking with family, picnics, outdoor barbecues, leisure walks, jogging, roller blading, etc). The parking lot connects to lots of paths that let you head to other parts of the park and it is along Thames river so you get to see lots of people on kayaks and migrating birds. Very relaxing and peaceful. Great place to unwind and take it easy.

Excellent playground with lots of things for the kids to do. Great paved pathway throughout the park, lots of wildlife to see. The wading pool is about 2 feet deep in the middle and it's amazing for kids of all ages. Hours of fun!

Very nice park. In the fall, a variety of colors. The river I think is suitable for rafting, the current is decent. Ducks and geese walking on all lawns and paths leave a lot of surprises))) it's a little uncomfortable. .the child liked it, a large area for running and walking. There are many barbecue areas.

One of the largest park in London, Ontario. You can have view of river from here. Water level was low when we were there.

Spending time in the Springbank feels refreshing, peaceful, and rejuvenating. The sight of lush greenery, the sounds of birds chirping, the smell of fresh air, and the opportunity to connect with nature can all contribute to a sense of relaxation and well-being. It's often a great escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life, allowing for moments of tranquility and reflection.

A gem in our city. Excellent walking path connects us with the Thames River. I prefer the trail when not so busy. Through the week in the morning is awesome. But generally people are courteous walking and biking. (Would be great if the Parks caretakers would cut back some of the scrub to see more of the River)

Today, is my first time being at Springbank Park since the middle of covid. Today being Friday August 11th at 6pm. The reason I am mentioning the date n time is because I was expecting the washroom to be open and it was not. There were other families looking got a washroom as well.....none to be found. Other than that the rest of the park experience was great. It's a beautiful park with lots of well maintained trails. Lots of benches and more on its way. Lots of improvements happening and I am excited to view the final version. 😊

I couldn’t believe how big of a park this really is. You do see geese walking around but they are mostly harmless but I’d say never let your guard down. I did not see any security in and around the park so another reason to watch your back. Overall the park had good vibes, very green and beautiful! A couple passionate fisherman were spotted along the river but were lacking luck… I’d recommend this park if you want to go get some fresh air and relax and also suggest don’t stay there after dark. Free parking is available.

Such a gorgeous park, love the trees, the little friendly animals that were around. It's also a prefect location for the kids to play at playground or bike

The park is spectacular right now with a superb display of blooming spring flowers and giant blossoming trees. Bring the family and friends for some magnificent photo opportunities. A walk through the Graham Arboretum section will definitely put a smile on your faces. There are about 20 kms of paved multi- purpose trails with some parking immediately adjacent to the paths which makes this one of the most accessible parks in London. The signage is clearly marked and it provides excellent information about the nearest public restrooms, picnic areas, and attractions. The long bridge across the Thames River offers wonderful views and beautiful photo opportunities. The ancient willow trees along the shoreline pathway are fantastic. There is a long staircase from the upper parking lot off of Springbank Drive but the lower park can also be accessed by the paved roadway at the end of the parking area.

Kids love this place...there is always something to do including a great splash pad... The washrooms need to be maintained properly and the Ferris wheel was not working second year in a row. Apart from that everything was great.

Lovely park to go for a walk, bike ride, roller blading, even to read a book.
This place has been around forever. Though it was my first time visiting, & I’ll definitely be back!

What a beautiful park. Bottle refill tap beside the restroom! We went there on a food truck day, so it was kind of busy, but also very quiet and relaxing down by the water! Only turn off was the over-flowing garbage cans everywhere :(
Victoria Park, established in 1874 and spanning an area of 18 acres, boasts a replica of the Whitehall cenotaph as well as a stage among other attractions. It is a popular destination for lunches, family outings and dates due to its scenic beauty. The park offers ample opportunities for recreation such as walking or running alongside the well-maintained ice rink and picnicking on its lush grounds.
Always a beautiful walk! Perfect for lunches, families, and dates. With everything else being closed, getting hot chocolate from the Starbucks across the street and walking around, has become one of my favourite pastimes. The ice rink Is well maintained and there are enough benches, but it can get pretty crowded over the weekend. The lights at night are of course gorgeous.

Great park downtown. Grab a drink or food to go and eat in the park. Plenty of benches or trees to sit under. Great path for walking dogs too. Squirrel are friendly and will eat out of your hand. Best parking is behind St. Peter's church. Like any city homeless have taken up in the park like the Squrriels, they will ignore you if you avoid them.

Close to home for this senior. Lot's of places to sit and enjoy the Squirrels and Geese. I walk by on the way to Oxford Valumart.

The outdoor ice skating rink is small but well managed. There are plenty of sitting areas around the rink where you can place your bags and change the shoes. It would have been nicer if the tree lights were on at night. The washroom is open to public but you need to visit the security office in front of the rink to have it unlocked for you.

Downtown's London central Park. It's a medium size park but very beautiful, always clean and lively. It's also very vibrant. In summer is when I like it the most. Here, some festivals take place during the day being my favorite the sun fest. You can go running in here, have a picnic or just walk by.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Victoria Park during my first trip to London. Nestled in the heart of the city, this park is an absolute gem, boasting lush greenery and picturesque landscapes. Our visit coincided with the Hockey Fest event, which injected a lively and energetic atmosphere into the park.
Victoria Park is definitely worth a visit, whether you're just stopping by London or a local looking for a refreshing escape. The combination of natural beauty and engaging activities make it a delightful destination for all

Nice park in Downtown London. All festival is held in this park. Today is the Ribfest weekend. Good ribs. Food itself is getting ridiculously priced ice cream , drinks skewers etc. Line up for ribs is too long. Average wait time is 1/2 hr to get ribs. Cannot try other vendors because there is no sampler option size.

Victoria Park is a gem in the heart of London. We had a wonderful time celebrating the end of 2023 with live music and fireworks at the park and the city hall respectively. The park is always lively and festive, hosting various events throughout the year. The park also offers a tranquil and scenic space for relaxing, walking, and enjoying nature. I love the beautiful trees, flowers, and monuments that adorn the park. Victoria Park is a source of pride and joy for Londoners, and I think of it as our own Central Park. I highly recommend visiting this park if you are in London.

Went during the winter. Definitely smaller in area than I expected but right in the center of the city. I can imagine it being a fun place to hangout during summers. For winter, there is a skating rink as well as cute Christmas decorations. Also nice little monuments around the park.

Good festivals in the summer and skating rink in the winter. Garbages and benches aren't maintained enough, though. Should add more tables for summer.
Covent Garden Market is a renowned indoor and outdoor market situated in the heart of London, Ontario. Established since 1835, it has been a go-to destination for locals and tourists alike who want to indulge in local food and shopping. The market has evolved over the years but still retains its original concept. With over 20 restaurants offering diverse cuisine such as Korean, Chinese, Indian, Japanese among others housed inside the spacious building that also hosts international food stalls.
Lovely and very cute city market. Here you can find local and international products, all of them very fresh and tasty. There are alleys of international cuisines as well as restaurant locals where you can dine in.
Besides the product, the most important thing about this place it's that everything is colorful, well organized and aesthetic. It's like a fairytale market haha.
I bought here maple syrup and cookies. I highly recommend to come by.

Great historical market in downtown London with roots back to the 1850's. The present building, dating from 1999 provides a modern space for around 50 vendors with coffee, teas, spices, fresh produce, fruits, meats, and much more. Additional vendors have stalls outside during the summer. Community organizations have spaces on the second floor.

Great place to support local. The outdoor market on Saturdays is a highlight, we try to buy all our meat and most of our produce from local farmers. Inside Mark’s Meats is a fabulous butcher, will pretty much get you anything you want. Glenda’s cheese shop is another favourite for a wide variety of cheese and items for entertaining. Sad to see the French bakery is moving, it is phenomenal. Best croissants in the city!

The market is pretty great and they hold really great outdoor events. But the parking is absolutely horrible. The on site underground parking was like $15 and I was only there for less than an hour. Everywhere else downtown London in and around this area is also a nightmare for parking though, so good luck. But the market is pretty great

This is located right at the heart of the town. It's really a beautiful place to be at, you can find a variety of stores in here, including variety of food stalls, claw machines and pretty decor stores. It's really a diverse market for people to explore and they organize a bunch of events for every occasion. And it's gorgeously lit up during festivals and there are decorations all around and a bunch of bands playing as well.
This Market is a bit pricy compared to the food outside but then I do understand they have a wide range of dishes to choose from as well.

Storybook Gardens, a park created in 1958 with rides and attractions inspired by nursery rhymes, is a family-friendly destination. However, only the splashpad and discovery areas are accessible to visitors due to restrictions. It is recommended that you make reservations beforehand as slots for each visit last only 1.5 hours. While masks are mandatory throughout the premises, they do not need to be worn while using the splashpad.
Always a great time and never disappointed. Friendly staff. Clean facilities. Very affordable and fun family outdoor activity.

This is a fun place to take the family for the day. It is geared more towards younger children and has a couple of small rides on site including a train in the park out front. Big draw is the splash pad, it is large and seems well maintained. The changing booths were a bit dirty but likely to be expected with the amount of people using them. Food was good, standard amusement park offerings. Large pirate theme play structure and some climbing walls are good for kids too. There is also a small play village for kids as well. We have been several times and always had fun.

I used to visit as a kid coming from Alberta with my cousins who lived in the area. Returned after 25ish years with my own children and uncle, this past summer. It was a wonderfully nostalgic experience for me and my children had a wonderful time. I was sad to see many things I remember have since been closed down or replaced but we still had a wonderful time. We were on a tight visiting schedule and only managed to get an hour in but I’m so happy we came.

The whole garden isn't open to the public- only the splashpad and discovery areas. Strongly recommend making reservations in advance to guarantee a spot. Slots are for 1.5 hours. Masks are required on the grounds, just not on the splashpad. Washrooms are open, but changerooms are not.

This place is beautiful! I've been walking on springbank park for years and never noticed there was a secret castle hidden behind the trees with so many fun rides and amazing natural views. It is like a smaller version of centre island in Toronto, and offers many fun things you can do. I personally enjoyed the swing chairs and the carousel, even though they are designed for smaller children adults can still safely and enjoyable ride. They also have tower slides and you can climb ropes at their park. Lastly, stop by the beaver tails conveniently located there, or grab some ice cream or other snacks and gifts from the in-house gift shop or restaurants.
Amber Han — Google review
It's such a fun place to bring the kiddies to but somewhat disappointing as the only rides that were available were the merry-go-round and the train (tickets are needed to be purchased for use). They did have the archery that was free and available inside as well they have multiple parks. All the other rides inside. Unsure if tickets are needed to use the other rides. They have a booth for food which serves hamburgers, fries, chicken strips, hot dogs, something with pickles (deep fried possibly), drinks, slushies, ice cream and freezies plus more I think (sorry I don't recall all). There is a jumpy thing (no shoes) and peddle go carts you with different sizes to where even adults had rode them and one where (only one) where an adult can go with a child. Fees at the time were $9/person and I believe 24mts and younger are free, for the time that I've gone. Free parking.

Storybook Gardens offers a delightful experience reminiscent of a children's storybook come to life. This family-oriented destination is brimming with an array of exciting activities for kids and their families. With a primary focus on children, it features themed parks and a variety of rides that fulfill every child's wishes.
The park boasts charming miniature replicas of well-known establishments like Tim Hortons, Pizza Hut, banks, and more. Youngsters can immerse themselves in the roles of cashiers, bankers, or whatever their hearts desire within these dedicated buildings.
Among the attractions, you'll find a spacious pool area for kids, a towering Ferris wheel, and an assortment of other rides that both children and families can enjoy. While there is a $25 entry fee to the park and separate tickets are required for each ride, the experience is undeniably worth the investment. Even if you're not a child, Storybook Gardens provides a vibrant atmosphere where you can relish youthful moments.

Affordable, family friendly experience. Definitely geared toward younger kids. Lots of interactive play and plenty of shade to stay cool. We showed up around 1130 AM and there was no line. Food service was a little slow but that's because they only had one open and it was lunch time. Relatively good food prices. They have taps at the water fountains to refill waterbottles. The sheer number of Canada Geese roaming around is unreal. The kids had a blast!

Amazing children’s amusement park. Travelled all the way from Barrie and can say it was worth the trip. So much to do and i love that the park has beautiful spaces to sit and relax as there is so much trees. Not very expensive to go. Bought a 20 ticket pack but did not use it as much as there is only 3 rides requiring tickets. I would say just buy a few if your kid wants to try 1 or 2. My 3 year old was only interested in the elephant ride.

Visiting Storybook gardens was an enjoyable experience overall, particularly for families with toddlers. With a fantastic playground suitable for children up to age 12, reasonable admission prices, and lovely picnic areas, it offered a fun-filled day for everyone. However, there were one downside that needs mentioning, such as the excessive presence of Canadian geese droppings.

If you have kids under 8, this is an absolute must. Set aside 4+ hours to spend here at the various play structures, sights, splash pad, and live shows. Admission covers park entry, but a few rides to cost extra.
Food is available but outside food and picnicking seems to be allowed.
Get your tickets for the train just outside the park in advance.

There are Catholic churches near my place but I still chose to go here even though it was almost 1hr bus trip. It has a welcoming ambience. Last time, there was an event after the mass and the staff were very friendly and accommodating the people to enjoy the happening. Sometimes, I go for a stroll downtown and I just can't help to stop and pass by the church to say a little prayer. It was during those times that I needed guidance, especially because it was my first time away from my family and that I had travelled abroad, alone.

We tried to visit today which is a civic holiday. Google and the website said the hours were 11:30-1:00. We drove a couple of hours to visit the church. It was locked, no signage and the weekly bulletin didn't say it would be locked. It was really disappointing and disheartening. So I'm sure it's beautiful inside but we probably won't make the trip again.

I have not gone to London, Ontario and joined the mass of this church for more than 30 years, after graduating from the Western University. During this visit to London, I accidentally went to this church because I wanted to find a disabled toilet. It was a luck that my friend's car stopped at the church main gate and I was let to go in. Then, I took this opportunity to attend the mass there. What an amazing encounter! It was the first time that I went to the church on-site since the out break of convid 19. Perhaps, it was a call from God. Actually, the church was not fully opened. All attendees must be pre-registered before they could be allowed to attend the mass at a specific time unless there were spare seats. Given above, I believed that I was called to the church. There was no coincidence.
As one of the oldest church in London, we were covered by its solemn atmosphere. I was also attracted by the speech of the Priest and my heart seemed to be rekindled. Though we sang the hymns without any music instruments, I felt that the Harmony of our sounds mixing together. This church reminded me a lot of good memories when I was a student. My stories were very lengthy an I must save it later to talk about it.

Budweiser Gardens was an excellent host for an excellent evening with James Taylor and Jackson Browne. Arena concerts have come a long way. The sound was of high quality. Our seats were comfortable and the leg room was ample. Sight lines were not an issue in the least. The concourse was pretty much jammed but "traffic" flow was steady. All this to say, I'll happily return to Budweiser Gardens for other events.

Budweiser Gardens is a great place to watch an OHL Game. The Knights are usually pretty good team to you'll be in for an entertaining game. The team also has a large following so the place is filled and has a good atmosphere. Going in is pretty easy.. the staff is efficient with covid protocols so the line moves quickly. inside the staff is also fantastic and helpful. Food and beverage is pretty pricey as you would expect in a busy place, other OHL team arenas don't have the same following so they can't overcharge on food but this place can .. they have a neat Jack Daniels bar that is unique and has some cool offerings. The game experience is good with fun entertainment between periods. My biggest complaint with watching the game is that the PA system is terrible and you cannot hear the announcer most of the time as its muffled. But the biggest issue I had is that the popcorn is completely inedible, so if you are reading this... don't but the large popcorn as you will throw your money away. it is so salty that you cannot enjoy it. i'm sure they have received complaints about it but chose to serve it still. Other than that.. its a good experience watching the game. Beyond that.. the streets near the arena are totally sketchy, so don't plan on walking alone.

Everyone in the crowd was in a great mood and people were being extremely kind to each other 😊
The reason for the 4 stars is Parking!! 🅿️
Parking can be an issue. We are not local so it was sort of confusing but we ended up parking on the street because it was after 6 pm when we got there… so i believe it was free 😳. But I could be wrong just check the signs!

Sitting at the very top and was very comfy. Easy to exit. However, if you park across the road and pay for all day parking ($22.50 for game days) still received a $100 ticket that was confusing.

Great venue for a rock show! I went and caught the Glorious Sons here recently and had an excellent time. The sound was great, staff was very friendly, and security wasn’t too overboard. I’d very much recommend catching a concert here when your favourite band comes to town!

Nice venue, fairly updated. Drove from NB for the concert, wasn’t disappointed. Pretty well organized and the staff outside were helpful with any questions. Only thing is that the screen was blocked from our section so it was hard to see at some points.

Although it was nicely managed, the area's lack of space gave the impression that it was overcrowded. Parking the vehicles became very challenging due to the fact that half of the outgoing roadways were under construction. When everyone emerged simultaneously from the graduation ceremony, they were jammed like hell. With this kind of set up, I wonder how they plan to host indoor matches

Love coming to concerts here (live out of town). Far easier to access than Toronto. And there are so many great places to eat in downtown London. BUT the cost to park in downtown London has become worse than Toronto ($29!!!)! Just absurd With as much clout as Budweiser Gardens enjoys, they need to address this! Because now it makes this a less desirable venue. First Ontario in Hamilton has plenty of much more reasonable parking spots nearby.

Drove all the way from Orono to fulfil a lifelong dream of seeing a game here! the rumours are true. It is the cream of the crop of the OHL beautiful barn, ample parking, reasonable ticket and merch prices, the pizzas delicious and great fans too!

Nice arena in many ways. Location is excellent; ushers were friendly. Feels small and easily navigable. I was last here in 2019 for the Junos telecast and have very happy memories of that event. However, security was way out of line at this 2023 event. About 2/3 of the way through the show, the band told the audience that we could stand. I don't know if the guard in question didn't hear that or thought it meant we could stand at our seats only and not approach the stage (I was in front row) but he was angry and inappropriate with several fans, yelling and putting his hands on people to try to get them to sit. Eventually another guard came running at him and pushed him the length of the stage, to get him away from the fans. It was uncomfortable and disruptive and I hope this guard was disciplined and all security personnel updated on appropriate actions, so that there is consistency in enforcing rules. I do not live in London but travel around Canada for various events. I would honestly hesitate before returning to Budweiser Gardens.

A smaller Air Canada center, boss has season Knights tickets so I should be there quite a bit. Used to always go to knights games growing up.. so I get flooded with nostalgia going again. They did a good job with this building, I love how they left the old buildings facade, def has a good vibe. Busy during games or concerts but lines move fairly fast

We love it here! Careful entry point... lots of exits.. good wheelchair access, too. Parking can be tricky, so we always try to arrive early and take in a meal at the market before the game. And, Go Lightning Go!! Where else can you get such great entertainment for $25 or so bucks a ticket?!

Saw Godsmack sat few rows back from the pit and the soundsystem from the overhead scoreboard was down and blasted us out of the arena. Staff were amazing and walked us right to our seats.
Fanshawe Pioneer Village is an outdoor museum that immerses visitors in pioneer life through costumed interpreters and hands-on activities. The village includes a general store, and the Trillium Community Gallery in the Spriet Visitor Center offers a beautiful setting for wedding receptions. During the winter market event, visitors can enjoy Christmas carols while shopping and taking photos in the snowy surroundings.
Visited for their winter market event. Was a great way to spend a snowy afternoon. Got great pictures and heard great Christmas carols. Wonderful way to bring Christmas alive for the kids.

If you are entering the village, say so at the entrance of Franshaw and you may not have to pay admission there. Cause there is admission to enter this village. Inside you will find many old buildings, architecture, items and possessions and each of them has a story to tell and it feels like taking a walk back in time. The staffs are also dressed and trained to speak in the 1900s-ish style english and makes it very interesting to listen to each of the building’s story. You may also find cat(s). The other place I found like this is the Heritage village in Calgary and I loved that, and this is very close

What a great place. Been there since 1959. Has buildings from 1820 to 1920 and they continue to add. The history from this place is great. Plus they have period actors at sevetL of the buildings. It was great seeing the different building styles and how some houses from 1800's were very advanced even having poxket doors. Also I had not seen a brick house from the 1800's before so that was interesting. Worth going.

It's a very cool experience visiting here. It's like a time machine that will take you back to the past, quite realistically. Much of what's here is authentic from the era and even what's been rebuilt has been done so well.

Yesterday was my second time visiting Fanshawe Pioneer Village and I enjoyed both visits immensely! The staff who I met so far were very professional and welcoming. The atmosphere here reminds me of what was produced in the Anne of Green Gables movies since that was the theme of the first event I attended almost a month ago. It also reminds me of several of the positive experiences of growing up in Hopeall (a small village) in Newfoundland as a child. I work in nature almost every day during the landscaping season but this place has an inspiring environment all
around! Thank you
Another Maracle Creation for yesterday's paint workshop! I forgot how much healing painting can be.

So much fun and the staff onsite were always so happy, eager, and genuinely excited to share information about the house or shop they were stationed in. I would reccomend arriving no later than 3:00pm. They close at 4:30, and an hour is tight to explore it even at a surface level - I will be coming back! :)

What a beautiful spot! The Spriet Centre, Trillium Gallery overlooks the picturesque Fanshawe Lake and was just the right venue size and setting for our Year End festivities. As heritage consultants, we couldn't have chosen a more fitting venue. With the help of the event co-ordinator, Laura Curiale, the evening ran smoothly. Her organized, helpful and attentive nature made for a relaxed and enjoyable evening.
As a bonus, our employees and their families spent the day travelling back in time, and enjoyed "Christmas in the Village" traditional stories and activities. Thank you so much for a very memorable celebration. We couldn't be more please.

The property offers visitors period decor, furnishings, and colorful gardens to explore. We plan to go back in the summer.

This review is only relevant to the parking issues at Western. Do not drive here and expect parking in the early morning til midnight. Parking pass is 400ish per semester and is very limited. They will issue 70 dollars ticket and hold it against your student record. I always pay for parking but you routinely have to choose between being late for class for 20 minutes or get an expensive parking ticket. There’s no reason that these intelligent faculty could not solve this issue, they like it the way it is because the love to squeeze every dollar out of their students.

Western is a school with lack of diversity all around in the faculty for undergrad and unfair acceptance policies. Almost all professors in undergrad faculties are white. In cases where it is a deal breaker in admissions between students with same grades & community involvement, guess what type of student gets picked? I will leave you to guess. UWO actually means university of white Ontario. They need to revamp the culture at the school to fix the issue. Negative attitudes all around.

Academic counsellors from the psych department are the scum of earth :) They're paid to hide at home and answer questions via a help portal, and they're not much help. I cannot wait until the day these incompetent jobs are replaced by AI. To be fair, the counsellors don't do anything but rote repition of information, which AI could do much faster.
It's very difficult to get special permissions on time, it took me full school year to get permission to take a course because I was not in that faculty.
In the last three years, I never asked for any academic considerations however the one time I did ask, I was met with "We can't help you but you're free to drop your courses until this date".

This school does not care about their students or their financial situations AT ALL!!! Don’t believe any of the false advertising they give you about how much they care and want the best for their students, it’s all LIES. It really shows how little they care with the employees they hire for student services who speak to students like they’re a bother... Western parking for example, absolutely worst people working for them and have no interest in helping anyone. The most money hungry school I’ve ever known, and no interest in helping anyone. Western really needs to check their priorities, because their students are not it.

The park does seem to have alot of Geese there. Same one come back every year.. there are some people around that have no home that might have tents in the brush. I haven't had any issues with any of them. All they want is to be shown some respect and to be treated like anyone else wants to be treated. It isn't all their fault they are in the situation they are in. .
Since the encampments opened up the numbers have dropped in that area by like 95%>
I recommend this park for all ages whether to cool off from the heat or play like kids or sit and watch the world slowly go by in peace or walk the trails and soak up the beauty of Our Forest City.

For a mini getaway with the kids, this water park is nice & close to home. We had littles, so it was nice they had everything for everyone. Enough room for adults to find shaded places to sit, background music, and clean bathrooms/change rooms!
You can buy tickets ahead of time online, but there's one line to get wristbands anyway, so there's no difference. We needed to get a refund for 2 tickets, but they give you credit to use until the end of the season instead. We could use it towards any other activity, so we decided to use it for go-carts, which worked out.
The staff is very helpful & professional for as young as they all were, they were very well trained. We'll be back!

Amazing and unique environment right in the middle of London. A glacier left a deep bowl shaped depression in the land at the end of the ice age and over thousands of years dead trees have created a Peat Bog. The resulting environment is very different from the rest of this area so you see very different species of trees and plants growing around the bog.
A wooden boardwalk has been constructed to prevent damage to the bog from human boots which provides a very pleasant walk through the bog and down to a small pond.
The pond is inhabited by frogs, toads and turtles including one very large turtle. Many different types of Dragonflies and Damselflies hover and dart low over the water while tadpoles swim in the margins.
A very pleasant place and a nice walk!

This is such a nice and small walking trail! There are two paths, one to the left and one to the right. The one to the left seems to be closed / not maintained so the path to the right was much nicer. At the end of the right path there's a beautiful pond and tadpoles, lily pads, birds, and it's a great place for pictures. The boardwalk is well maintained and is a very flat and easy walk.

Sifton Bog is an exceptional and ecologically significant wetland. This natural gem plays a pivotal role as a vital habitat for diverse wildlife, while also providing a recreational haven for enthusiasts keen on immersing themselves in its remarkable flora and fauna. Sifton Bog offers a unique experience throughout the changing seasons, each presenting its own captivating vistas. Additionally, the branching of nearby trails enhances the overall visitation experience, and the lush greenery found here is undeniably enchanting, making it a destination worth exploring.

A short but scenic place for a walk, especially when the fall leaves start to change. If you go off the board walk, be prepared to get muddy. The small parking area gets very crowded on weekends and holidays.

Very peaceful park. Only negative is be aware of the hidden front gate as it is easy to miss. There is a wooden pathway with beautiful trees on both sides to provide shade and a breeze on a summer day. At the end there is a quaint lake with lily pads and a small boardwalk/dock suspended over the lake for viewing.

A great escape from the city without going to far! The main trail to see the bog is well maintained, the path is clear and is fairly short. Easy walk for most people, takes about 10 - 15 min going at a leisurely pace. Only issue: the other trails are a little bit harder to follow and find, hence the 4 start rating. I believe the entrance gates are closed in the winter months, but it's a still accessible by foot.

DO NOT GO OFF TRAIL! Preserving this gorgeous landmark of London should be a priority for every visitor. The bog is tucked away between residential neighbourhoods with limited parking. The boardwalk is a comfortable length where you can witness some flora unique to this small ecosystem. The views are stunning!
Banting House National Historic Site is a museum dedicated to the life and work of Sir Frederick Banting, the inventor of insulin. The museum contains numerous artefacts related to Banting's discovery as well as interesting stories about its impact. Visitors can enjoy tours from friendly staff members who offer insights into the circumstances surrounding Banting's discovery and the individuals involved in its development.
Cosy little place. Luckily for me I was early and got an individual tour. It felt like I was really in a home. Everything is so personal and cosy. Plus I learnt a lot about insulin and Banting and a bit about Canada.

Having personal ties to diabetics this was an important place to go.
The volunteers are so friendly and welcoming. They give an amazing tour.
Even if you have no personal i would recommend visiting and even make a donation to the cause.

Wonderful birthplace museum of the Home of Dr. Frederick Banting where he developed the idea how to control diabetes. Well worth the time.

There's a lot to learn here - the birth place of insulin. Frederick Banting saved a lot of lives, including Teddy Ryder; the longest lived diabetic patient.
I wish the cure for diabetes would be discovered someday so that the flame of hope can be extinguished.

The birth place of insulin!!!
You should take the guided tour to understand more about Mr Banting and insulin. The guide for the trip was amazing. I understood lot about the history and it literally took me back in time after the tour.
I got to listen to the personal story of the founder of insulin along with learning about some of the key patients and the treatment method of diabetes patients was also well explained.
The contribution of insulin in saving life of so many people is remarkable. Learning about its founder is more remarkable.

Very intimate tour. Very inspirational to be in the room where insulin was conceived. What a creative mind. A.Y. Jackson from the group of Seven was a personal friend.

It was wonderful to see this house preserved in honor of Dr. Banting and his fellow researchers who were the first to treat diabetes with insulin and save many lives. I loved seeing the historical medical instruments as well. Diabetes is such a common disease that we see in healthcare, but there is still no cure. I'm praying this museum will inspire researchers to keep searching and am grateful for our guide's tour. She explained the history very clearly.

The guided tour here helps explain the invention and development of insulin and the life of Dr. Banting. Highly recommend.

As such importance of this place is well beyond giving any star rating . People with wisdom and foresight have converted the residence of Sir Fredrick Grant Banting, the discoverer of Insulin drug in to a Memorial . He has indeed given a fresh lease of life to countless diabetic patients. To commemorate his contributions to humanity his statue is erected and many eminent and prominent people have paid their tributes. Me and my wife being a diabetic couple, we paid our tributes on our and also on behalf of several our relatives and friends .....

I unfortunately have not been inside the house. Love the positive reviews people have left here. Most definitely will be bringing my daughter soon. I took this photo at night and wasn't aware that the window in the background had a picture of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother on it.

This was an accidental find for us, but we are so glad we stopped in for a tour. The staff gave us a 30 minute tour and they were extremely knowledgeable, engaging, and personable. The story of the creation of insulin, the creators, and the historic home/building was very interesting and well worth the $15 (for a family) entry fee. Check it out if your ever in London Ontario and looking for something a little educational.

Sergio provided a great tour with all kinds of fascinating information about Dr. Banting and the discovery of insulin. He was friendly, articulate, and knowledgeable. I know a fair amount of biology and was decently familiar with Frederick Banting, but I learned a lot during this tour. I only wish that it was longer!
I encourage you to call ahead and check when the tours occur, so that you arrive on time to join one when it begins.

The neighbourhood is rough, a lot of homeless and addicts. My wife didn’t want to get out of the car, she did not feel comfortable. We knocked and rang bell to the Museum and no one answered. All in all a uncomfortable disappointment.

A great historic site to learn about an important discovery! The house is not big but contains some really neat artefacts and interesting stories. The staff member on duty that day, an Asian volunteer whose name I forgot, offered to give us a tour, which lasted about half an hour. She was very friendly and deserves some compliments! It was so interesting to learn about the circumstances, the other people involved, and the impacts of the discovery. I hope more people, locals and visitors alike, discover and visit this museum.
The Grand Theatre is a historical venue dating back to 1901, featuring a proscenium arch and original artwork. The theatre showcases plays and musicals, with the staff being friendly and welcoming towards families with young children. During the Christmas season, the theatre is festively decorated, adding to the ambiance of the performances. There is an all-gender bathroom on-site that features individual stalls for privacy. Visitors can park at St.
We are so lucky to have such a GRAND THEATRE in London. I have thoroughly enjoyed its tremendous and varied productions over many years. Its beautiful venue keeps calling me back! It is amazing to have such amazing talent in our city. I love that I don't have to travel to Toronto, and pay big bucks, to see such rich, creative, live theatre. The world premiere of 'Grow' was fabulous! Thank you so much.

Great experience! This theatre has undergone some renovations however the design encompasses older architecture and charm! Attended a Christmas musical with friends and loved it! The staff were very helpful, the atmosphere is welcoming and cozy. I would definitely recommend seeing a play at this theatre. Lots of fine dining to choose right next door, across the street and down Richmond Row.

Had such a wonderful time at "The beauty underneath". The songs choices were great, voices were amazing & all the cast costumes and make up were awesome. The Grand was SUPER friendly and accommodating when we called about my husband's service dog. We were greeted by all the staff by last name as they had been told to expect us. It was my first time there and definitely will not be the last

Home For The Holidays.. truly one of the best presentations ever! Love both the 8 singers and the band. True diversity in this production. Brought me to tears several times.

Went to see GRAND GHOSTS; the play was outstanding 👏 👌
However, the seats are too small for average sized people and too uncomfortable (need more height & padding). Please add cup holders for drinks; especially as the plastic drinking cups from the bar are very cheap, flimsy and without lids so drinks can spill easily.
Finally, since the past 24 years, the set design has become constantly minimalistic. If the summer theaters can build full sets and inspiring designs, why not The Grand?
In this production especially, the men's costumes/wardrobe was okay but the ladies' was made of cheap fabrics.

Went to view Phantom of the Opera. Production was cast with high school students. I have seen phantom several times, mostly in Toronto, the last in New York on their closing. This production was every bit as good as every professional show I have seen. These kids are off to spectacular careers. Loved every single minute. Huge congratulations.

Went to see "Clue"! Sadly this is the first time that I have travelled to see a play in this theatre since "The Glass Managerie" in the 70's, if my memory is right!
I forgot how wonderful this theatre is! Despite seating over 800 between the orchestra & balcony seating, plus the 2 side box seats,it feels so intimately small! The front orchestra row is so close to the stage, the actor laying at the edge of the stage can reach out & take things from seated patrons! For some wishing not to look upward for the duration, rows 5 to 10 back may be better suited. That said, I don't believe there is a 'bad seat!!!
Entry was so easy with paper or digital tickets! Helpful, courteous staff directed allowed their seating. I'm certain the wife & I shall plan of many more 1 hour trips to the Grand Theatre in London, Ontario! With a 5 minute walk around the buildings, there is a large public parking lot directly behind the theatre & a larger parking structure behind that. Worth the trip to enjoy quality plays in a well cared for, 'grand' old theatre!!!

Parked in St. Peter's church parking lot for $5. Short walk to the theatre. Had to wear a mask to attend the show. Staff had baskets of masks in case anyone needed one. We got there about half an hour before show time so were able to more or less go straight in. Full house for John Cleese.

We had a great time at the Grand with children. I was a little worried going there with 2 young children but staff were friendly and accommodating. The theater was decorated for Christmas and the performers were great. We were able to get booster seats. Just an FYI there is an all gender bathroom (individual stalls) that threw my child off as well as a couple of adults that thought they were ok the wrong place.
Michelle Rickard — Google review
The she was great. The concession staff were nice. Drinks were as expected in a venue price point, but not overly expensive. I was both surprised and enlightened with the non gender bathroom. It was a very different, but encouraging experience. Change is good in this case.

The Grand Theatre is a beautiful venue with friendly and helpful volunteers!
We saw East Coast Kitchen Party there on Apr 22, 2023. I would give it 3.5 *; however; the local talent of Jesse, Leah and Alex, I could have listened to all night long!
Just a comment: the "extras" that you had sitting on the stage behind the actual entertainment was such a distraction for me. If you are going to have extras for a down East Kitchen Party; maybe you might want to ask some of your local drama club for volunteers, who may may experienced a "Kitchen Party" or have a partying spirit. These people (and I know there not pros) looked like manikins or maybe the band couldn't have interacted with them?? You get what I mean!
We'll be back!

Great venue, but starting to feel a little dated. I think they need to upgrade the seating and make it more modern. More comfortable. Still love this place for theatre though.

Beautiful interior decor, which envelops you as you enter. The bathrooms were clean though small. The theatre was beautifully decorated and there were so many details to notice and admire. The play was well presented and awesome in set and acting. The seating is older and not very comfortable. If you are seated mid-row it can feel claustrophobic and make it very difficult for anyone with a slight mobility issue to get out once everyone is seated.

Went to see the GrandTheatre High School Project, (25th year anniversary this year!! ) Phantom of the Opera. Fantastic.
The Jet Aircraft Museum, located at the airport, showcases various Royal Canadian Air Force artifacts and jets. The museum doesn't charge a set admission fee but rather operates on donations. Visitors can enjoy interactive experiences such as viewing engine work and sitting in cockpit mockups. The Flight Simulator is a popular attraction available for only $20 per person. This hidden gem provides educational opportunities for the community and deserves support to continue its efforts.

My son and I had an absolute blast at the JAM! Our tour guide was incredibly informative and helpful. The museum operates on donations, not a set entrance fee. We were able to see an engine being worked on, sit in cockpits and mock ups; but the real icing on the cake for us was the Flight Simulator's, a guaranteed memory, and for just $20 each it was incredible. To emphasize how much fun this was, the night before we were at a large gaming facility with trampolines and obstacle courses, but the Jet Aircraft Museum topped that for my son. I STRONGLY suggest you visit this hidden gem and give them the support to keep educating the community!

This was a great museum to visit! I learned so much about history, physics, flight practices, engineering, and the Canadian military in one place! Our tour guide was an extremely knowledgeable former pilot and school teacher and gave us a 24 karat guided tour - it was absolutely exquisite. This is definitely in the top three aircraft museums I have visited, and we’ve been to quite a good many in Canada and the USA! I can’t say enough good things about our visit here!

London’s Jet Aircraft Museum is an unexpectedly exciting place for anyone who is interested in aviation. It’s actually run by a charity organization which does an amazing job there to restore old aircrafts and collecting many other aviation related interesting pieces with a great story. The museum is in a very real operating hangar and it’s Transport Canada regulated, so the tours must be guided by their staff. We were lucky to have Scott (the president of the organization) to guide us around and tell all the amazing stories about every piece on display. He is also an expert on the history of aviation and Canadian jet aircrafts, we are enlightened now! Thanks for keeping the legacy of extinct aircrafts and their stories alive! Highly recommended.

Absolutely AMAZING tour! A must see with family, friends and even a great trip if you're not staying in London.
We visited London for the weekend (group of 16) and this tour was one of the highlights of our trip.
The guides were amazing. Our kids got their own guide (Capt Ken) who spent the entire time educating them and keeping them interested in learning more. The adults got a tour with Christine, who was extremely knowledgeable and patient with our many questions. We got to see (and sit in a jet) planes, jets, and so much more.

Westminster Ponds/Pond Mills Conservation Area is a vast nature reserve that boasts of 5 ponds, 10 km of footpaths, and more than 200 bird species. It is a serene and stunning location in London, ideal for hiking, running or cycling on well-defined trails. The area is an excellent spot for bird watching and photography enthusiasts. However, the ponds may flood occasionally during rainy spells making the trail muddy so visitors should be prepared.
This is an excellent green space in the city. If you bring a coffee cup with you, realize there are only two trash containers here so hold onto it for proper disposal— or since it’s only 5km long and coffee is unlikely to prevent dehydration just skip the coffee if you’ll be tempted to chuck it into the beautiful pond or woods - garbage from daily hikers is the worst part about this place.

Lovely area with a lot of trees & shade to hike while staying cool on a hot sunny day. There are 3 ponds which the hike loop goes around, families with kids and dogs are a common sight on main trails- off track trails are much more calmer & quiet. Only gripe is some of the trails aren't marked clearly & you could miss a turn in the loop.

This was my first time checking out this trail. It was muddy and flooded in many parts no biggie but I did get lost and had to turn around and go back the way i came in because there was nowhere to go that i could see - no more yellow signs to follow - As a newbie to the city and a visual person I would have liked to see on a board where I was at that point so I could determine where to go rather than turn around and retrace steps. I would like to try this trail again but early in the day in case I get lost - lost. And I'll download a hiking trail app for guidance and wear waterproof calf high hiking boots.

This is one of my favorites places in London as its very calm, beautiful, and peaceful. It just makes clear my mind. There are fairful delimited tracks to hike/ walk, and some of them to run. For bikes there are no lanes but that doesn't mean you can ride in here.
Ideal to go for a walk, running, reading or get along with your pets, etc.
This is also an excellente place to watch birds and take photographs.

Absolutely beautiful! Maintained trails that still offer the sense of forging through the woods, great for all ages. As an added bonus there is the use of washrooms at the adjacent visitors center. The only slight downside is there is not a lot of parking.
Fanshawe Conservation Area is located in London, Canada and offers car camping and RV options from May to October. There are numerous amenities available such as a swimming pool, splash pad, playground, and extensive trail options for visitors to enjoy. Additionally, there are opportunities for fishing, boating or canoeing/kayaking on the water. Families can explore Fanshawe Pioneer Village or Children's Safety Village (June-Sept) before getting refreshments at the concession station or using laundry facilities onsite.
This is a beautiful Park and Conservation Area. It has multiple trails that I've walked on and I've enjoyed thoroughly.. There is plenty of parking there and the view from the hydroelectric dam is quite beautiful. There is also recycling so people don't pollute the park.

I finally explored this area today and after living in London for the past 24 years, I wish I had discovered this place earlier! I actually started coming here for events at Fanshawe Pioneer Villiage. I loved the atmosphere in the village so much that I bought the season pass and sometimes went there two or three times per month. I really loved how quiet and peaceful it was at Fanshawe Conservation Area. The staff who I seen at the gate, a few doing their rounds, and then others at the gate that they close at 4:00 p.m. were all decent and respectful. I find it interesting the photos that different people choose to take while there. They all tell a unique story!

Probably one of the best places in the locality. It is a very large area, so better get there the earliest so that you can explore most of the place. Due to Winter, most water activities are suspended now. Summer would be the best for such entertainments.
There are many trails and walkways around there. This is a very good place for biking and a refreshing walk. Most of the trails have shade from the trees and the walk between them makes it a completely different experience.
Fanshawe Dam (Hydroelectric power plant) inside this area adds a the real aesthetics to this area. The view from the dam, especially on sunset is really good. Was lucky enough to experience a great view from there last day.
There are so many activities going over there. Make sure to check their seasonal restrictions....

Even people can do kayaking with their own kayaks.
Some people were even seen playing golf and enjoying the initial summer time.

We were suppose to camp for two nights there, you couldn't pay me to stay another night. I went with my two teenagers in one tent, and my siter went with her kids, we all had restless sleep.I had an hour sleep total between 1130pm-5am. There was one family 3 area's down that their child would cry every 2hrs, there were dogs barking and howling two doors down the other side of us. The worst part, is right after the noise would stop (btw I had ear plugs in) an airplane would fly right over your campsite, I regret not taking a picture, it's cool during the day... but at night it's scary, especially it's so low to the ground you feel the vibrations. On top of that, their pool is green and looks disgusting, they need to pay better attention to the bathrooms and cleaning.

The Royal Canadian Regiment Museum is a small, but well-maintained museum that offers free admission. It showcases exhibits on Canadian military history on its second floor, with a particular focus on the first infantry regiment established in Canada. The museum also features collections from World War I to modern times. However, some visitors have noted that the exhibition descriptions are one-sided and could benefit from critical reflections, particularly regarding Indigenous peoples and UN peacekeeping efforts.
Newly renovated, lots of historical items. Great place to check out for all

We visited the museum on a Friday afternoon. The volunteer guide was great and there was a ton to see and read. It would take a couple of hours to read and digest all of the information available on the displays. I especially liked the interactive displays that help bring some deeper understanding of the soldiers experience in war time. Unfortunately the trench display wasn’t functioning at the time of our visit but aside from that it was a great experience. The museum is free, though donations are welcome (and I encourage you to do so). Plenty of parking is available on site as well.

Very neat (and free!) museum with a surprisingly comprehensive exhibit on Canadian military history, spanning its entire second floor. It was quite well maintained. My only criticism would be that the exhibition description is very much one-sided and could have benefitted from critical reflections, especially on topics relating to Indigenous people (e.g., Louis Riel) and the efficacy of UN peacekeeping efforts. Do check out the original jail cells on the first floor and walk around the beautiful grounds (but note that it is still an active military location).

An amazing trip back in history of Canadian role in war and acknowledgment and education about the wars and the brave souls who willingly put their lives on the line for their country. A must see when you visit London and it’s FREE!! Cool stuff in the gift shop and enjoyable chats with retired vets who shows the prison cells etc
Komoka Provincial Park is a nature reserve located in southwestern Ontario along the Thames River. The park boasts several hiking trails and opportunities for wildlife viewing. With mostly forested surroundings, this natural area also features pockets of former farm fields and meadows with slightly hilly terrain perfect for those looking to get some exercise while enjoying beautiful views of the river and surrounding area. Visitors should be aware that paid parking is required on site, which is enforced by inspectors who patrol the area regularly.
Make sure you pay the $6 for parking , they do check ( $30 ticket ) great trail . Wear good shoes , quite a bit of tree roots . Good work out , but there are some stairs to climb . Beautiful and peaceful!

Great Place ! We loved to go for hiking in this park, my dog really loves this park. Trails off the cliff that will take you to water if you go far to west. Paid parking for 2 hours for $5.25. Must visit in Spring.

great conservation area. you can walk here all day long. many trails that are closed for the winter. Attention, paid parking, which is fined. An inspector walked around with us and laid out fines. Many animals. .

I love the White Trail in Komoka, It’s a beautiful trail through the forest and beside the riverbank, hiking difficulty is moderate and it took me 2 hrs to complete the loop.

$6.50 for 2 hours of parking just to walk this trail is NOT worth it. Scenery is bland, and the wooden board walks are crooked and dont appear maintained. Also, the process to pay to park is not quick or easy. You have to scan a QR code with a phone, follow many steps just to get the right option, then make an account to be able to pay. In conclusions, there are many other scenic and free trails around London and the surrounding areas. Skip this one.

Amazing walk along the river! It's not too rigorous and the slope is very mild. Great getaway from all the flat farmlands. Just be mindful of the poison ivy and tics

Went on a winter hike here. The trail was great but it was very muddy as the temperature got warmer and caused most of the snow to melt. Views of the river and surrounding area were fantastic.
If you do drive do note you need to pay for parking.

Hiked the white trail. According to AllTrails, it is a easy route, but in my opinion, it is at least an moderate. It has pretty steep slopes, especially in the north part. There were some beautiful views along the riverside. The trails were well marked. It can be busy in the weekends.

Beautiful park with established trails along the Thames in London, Ontario. Lots of opportunities for birdwatching, and the occasional deer. A friend spotted a Pileated Woodpecker I December 2022, a rare find. Parking and washroom facilities are available. Great place to take the kids, but be wary of the sheer drops and valleys, especially in wet and snowy weather. I have not seen one yet, but it is reported that bald eagles frequent the old growth trees alongside the river.

Great place for a hike. It's right on the river and has lots of different path options. Usually not too busy. Need a provincial park pass or to pay for parking online.

Great place. Beautiful. I like the two separate entrances to the park. One more for walking and the other if you're more for a hike. You can also walk from entrance to the other if you are up for a good workout.

Lovely park, featuring the Thames River. Plenty of wildlife to see and a nice hike leading down to the river (which makes for a challenging walk back up to the parking lot).
Would be five stars, except you have to pay for parking - and it's not cheap (e.g. $6.50 for two hours!)

This is my most favourite park for hiking, it’s like you go to the jungle under the shade for a period and then you go to the desert for another part. They used to have a Kiosk to pay for parking but now you have to pay online- it’s a bit of processing however you can pay upfront and booked your time. $6.50 for 2 hours parking and you should pay because they do check in very often 😬
