Davison Orchards Country Village is a local farm and tourist attraction in Vernon offering orchard tours on a tractor-drawn train, apple picking, a kids' play zone, gift shop and cafe. The place is known for its excellent views of the surrounding area, but some consider it overpriced due to its local status. However, it supports the community and offers delicious treats like coffee screamers and strawberry vanilla ice cream.
Being here again after 6 years, still great place to be
So many homegrown and homemade stuff
I wish we had something similar at home
Huge playground with so many different things to do and play
Different animals to feed
What they can do well as well, making money out of everything, very thought through
The tractor ride is nice, but not really for kids until 10

If you visit the area you have to stop at the Orchards Country. It's not a tourist trap like I thought. We visited in October so there weren't too many people. The kids enjoyed the farm and the animals. The entrance is free and you can buy many local products. Of course I recommend the apple pie and the apple juice.

I love this place so so much. It’s like when you go to the farm as a kid and have that pure feeling of joy? Well, this is it, I have never been happier to see a goat and go apple picking. Amazing staff, beautiful property, delicious food. 10000% recommended.
Note: You MUST take the tractor tour around the orchard, trust me, it will become one of those fluffy, happy place memories.

Visited here during the Labour day weekend and although it was busy, there was plenty of parking. This place is very kid-friendly as it had cute farm animals and a little playground, and even though I do not have children - I still had so much fun!
I stocked up on quality produce from the packing shed to bring back home with me such as zucchini, tomatoes, spaghetti squash, and peaches, which were all fairly priced. I also purchased some kettle corn and carrot cake which were not overly sweet like many places. My boyfriend & I ate lunch here - we got a grilled cheese sandwich and wrap, which was delicious. I loved that these items came with sides like pickles and salsa with chips! Additionally, I liked how there was a homemade ice cream shop on site but I was too full and didn’t get to try it unfortunately.
In my opinion, the gift shop was a bit overpriced - but then again, I haven’t been to a gift shop anywhere that was at a decent price point lol. I would definitely come here again if I am ever back in Vernon.

We always take the grand kids here they love petting the animals and playing in the playground or even go for a tractor ride

A wonderful place to visit, no matter if it's just yourself, you & your partner, or have the whole family! Coming from Vancouver after 27 years, it was so refreshing to experience a slower paced, fun, beautiful farm once again. The caramel apple pie & apple juice I had was to die for! The staff are very knowledgable and friendly. I'd much rather support this local, family owned business vs. a corporation any day. If you haven't been here yet, or are looking for a reason to go, this is it!!!

Davison Orchard offers excellent views of Vernon. Some may say everything is overpriced here, but that's because it is a local farm and tourist attraction. Support local, man. we had a coffee screamer and strawberry vanilla ice cream come. Both were delicious.
Kids seem to love it here with the goats, multiple playgrounds, oversized chairs, and the fake jail cell.
People love buying corn here and pies.
They also have their own pumpkin patch in fall.
It's really really busy here on weekends, especially late spring and early summer.
We came here Tuesday afternoon and it's super peaceful. That's where it's at.

Awesome place for a family visit of all ages. Better for kids under 10 but the store has so many great options. There peach salsa is bomb. Their Cafe is awesome with hot and cold drinks as well as there own home made ice cream from there own fruit.

This is a wonderful place to visit if you are from other cities. We bought a box of nine jugs frozen apple juice. By the time I got back to Calgary which was 7 hours drive, the apple juice were still half frozen.

It’s a great place! They have the best u-pick apples. We have visited it many times. Animals, playground, apple pie, apple slush, and ice cream are always great over there! You can visit it in different months. And, they have u-pick pumpkins. And, do not forget to try their apple juice. 2023 update: I stopped here for an apple slush on my way back. So nice to have it while the weather is hot. The apple juice is great.
Kun Z — Google review
We really love this place! The premises are always very clean and well taken care of. The produce here is fresh and yummy, and their apple juice is certainly one of a kind.
I am deducting a star because of two things:
1. The treats you get out of their little machines for 25 cents has reduced in almost half! Just a year ago, you got a hand full of treats that you could feed to their goats, sheep, pigs and so on. Now, you get only a few out, it barely fills my toddler's hand!
2. No more train passes. They used to sell passes for their tractor trains that were affordable and LOTS of fun. We used to come here at least once a week to get a train ride, buy produce and hang out on their playgrounds. It's gotten very expensive to ride their tractor trains and they offer no more passes which usually locals would be to come back more often so I think it's a move that takes away from locals, who probably are the biggest source of income for them.
Other than everything being very expensive here (an ice cream scoop for $7!!!) they do have lots of free attractions for kids and my son loves going here, and loves their apple juice. We'll be back this summer for sure, and we're very grateful they offer such a cute farm experience to their community!
Their playgrounds are so much fun, and they even have toys in their sandboxes for kids to play with.
From the time they open until the day they close, we visit at least twice a month.
I hope they will offer train passes again.

So much things to do with family and friends. Tracker tour for $10, we enjoyed ride around orchard farm and explain for fruit and veggies. Fresh and delicious food from farm. Say hi to animals. We could stay whole day for fun!

We really enjoyed our visit here. Very family friendly and so many fun things to do for kids. The orchard has plenty of offerings with food and treats. The tractor ride orchard tour is a must. Our guide was quite entertaining, and educated us a lot about farming fruit trees. We even saw the owners riding tractors in the farm. They have a petting area and a barn themed playground which were immensely enjoyed by kids. A must visit in Vernon.

Friendly and Knowledgeable Staff: The staff at Davison Orchards are so welcoming and eager to share their knowledge. We learned a lot about fruit farming during our visit,
"Davison Orchards is a delightful escape from the city buzz. The orchards are beautiful, the farm animals are a hit with kids, and the bakery...oh, the bakery! The apple pie is a must-try!"
Located in the Okanagan Valley, Planet Bee Honey Farm and Honeymoon Meadery offers a unique experience for visitors to learn about honey bees and sample a wide variety of unpasteurized honey from around the world. Fantastic place to "bee" in Vernon! They have a small interpretive center, a decent sized store with lots of bee products, and a wine/mead tasting corner.
One of the amazing things at this location is that you can actually sample so many different kinds of honey. This makes it super easy when you want to buy a specific kind of honey!
The staff at this location is super friendly and helpful!
You can see the bees inside the store as well as several hives outside.
"Bee" kind to the bees, always, and enjoy your time at the bee farm with your family! Highly recommended!

Planet Bee Honey Farm is conveniently located in the city of Vernon limits. Not your typical farm, a beautiful store with an alive see through hive. Make sure you spot the queen bee! This adds to the store experience, which offers versatile range of flavoured honey and meads.
Must try the Raspberry Romace.

Love visiting this honey store and bringing home some local made honey. They have different flavours you can sample. My favourite ones are the Clover honey and the Okanagan Gold honey.

Great place to learn about bees if you have not visited a bee farm before. They also allow you to sample honey from different blossoms.
I was able to check off my culinary experience with the honey from fireweed and orange blossoms. They also have honey from raspberry, blueberry, buckwheat, wildflower, etc. Great for foodie looking for different natural flavor of honey as recipe ingredient.

The tour visit to a bee farm is an interesting place to learn. The speaker precisely explained what to know about the bees, the different kinds of bees and the role they play especially the Queen Bee to the colony including the complete process of creating honey.
The different kinds of honey produced depends on the kinds of flowers gathered by the bees. The speaker further discusses the products they are selling as by-products of the bee pollination. I was hopeful to see at least a bee colony but none.

I learned lots about bees that I never knew such cool little insects.. Lots of information to see and read. They have a nice little tasting area to try different flavors of honey. They have a big beautiful store full of Bee related products. Recommend this for anybody to check out.

I were late to visit the farm, so no more presentation after the rest of the day. In fact, all staff tried the best to explain and to introduce all information as much as they can.
Truly appreciated the friendly staff provided great education lesson about bee for my family. My 3 kids truly learned a lot after the visit, and shared to their friends as well.

Only negative was the staff member behind the till was horribly curt and honestly should be fired.
Historic O'Keefe Ranch is a museum that offers tours of heritage buildings and kid-friendly encounters with farm animals. The ranch was founded in 1867 and has a rich history. The exhibits are fascinating, and the staff is well-informed and invested in the stories and heritage of the site. Visitors can learn about the community's past and present through interactive displays, including a milkmaid exhibit.
A great place to go with family! They have a good corn maze. I guess you can visit the corn maze from Summer. It’s easy to pass this spot. We did not notice it in many years. So glad we went there this year. Check their website for more info.

This place entrance is by donation, the place was so beautiful. The kids can do some crafts with cookies/shocks and few other activities. There is a place for Christmas photos with Santa. You can witness the beautiful rail model of Okanagan, there is a candy store, a beautiful mansion. You can try some roasted nuts, drive the wagon and have all the fun you need. Best place to visit with children.

I found this place by chance, just wanting to visit Vernon and I'm so glad I did! We entered through the main gift shop and our greeter was dressed in the attire of the period. We got a map of the ranch, which is a good thing as the grounds were much larger than expected. So much history, and they've kept the buildings and the equipment so well, it displays beautifully. And did I mention there's a candy story in what used to be the old Post Office? So delightful! Spend a couple hours to take it all in.

Our winter visit to O’Keefe Ranch with the family and grandparents was very positive. We enjoyed exploring, seeing the scenic buildings covered in snow, and imaging life in 1860’s. The staff were very friendly and the tours were well done and worth our time. The winter theme and holiday decorations were very cheerful and gave a unique feel to our visit. They even had Father Christmas to greet the kids!

I had such a lovely time here. Walking around, talking to everyone and looking at all the exhibits. They were all so fascinating. The people that were working in the various exhibits were so well informed and you could tell they were personally invested in the stories and in the heritage of this site. I personally want to thank the milkmaid who spent some extra time talking to me about the community, both historically and present. Thank you so much. The land has so much history. I hope all of your families stay safe.

Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park is a vast expanse of natural grassland with a recreational shoreline, well-maintained trails and camping facilities. The clear blue water of the lake is stunning, and there are plenty of opportunities for hiking or enjoying the view from Rattlesnake point. However, visitors should be prepared for a two hour walk to reach the beach and keep an eye out for bears as they share the trail with walkers, bikers and horse riders.
The color of the water is stunning here, and so clear. There's also quite a large network of well maintained trails to enjoy. Rattlesnake point offers a fantastic view.

Great trails for exploring the park. There is a nice swimming area with picnic tables not too far from the parking area as well as a small beach (in a different area) for dogs to swim. We only explored a small portion but our overall impression was majestic views and worth a visit to enjoy.

A very nice walk to the beach you need two hours both ways. We met with a bear and people walking, biking and on horse. It was a wonderful journey. I had at moments the feeling to be flying. To recommend strongly.

It's a nice local park area that is slightly out of the way, but easy to get to. On a hot day, I recommend doing the hike starting the trail towards the dog beach, going to the lookout area, then back the other way to Juniper Beach for a nice cool dip. Shallow water, not too cold.

It is the opposite side of the busy beach area(forgot the name of the beach), but it's only 5-8mins' drive going there for the beach area. And you will never regret going here if you want some quiet time and away from all the people. There are also a part for the dog area , and there are mercat roaming around the area for kids to observe them. There are no sudden drops compared to other beaches. We spend our evening there just chilling and enjoy the beauty of nature.

Nice little provincial park close to the lake. Many access points to the lake and a fair amount of hiking trails.
Parking lot is fairly big.
Nice escape from civilization!
NOTE: There is a warning at the entrance of the park that explosives could be found in the park (probably the location is an old artillery target/practice location of the CAF).

Wow 🤩 it’s a really beautiful provincial park. So much things to do. Great trails, picnic spots , beaches and view points. I visited at the end of winter and will visit on summer time to see the real beauty of the park.
Ellison Provincial Park is a state park located on Okanagan Lake, known for its beautiful forested benchlands and rocky shoreline. It offers 71 spacious campsites surrounded by Douglas Fir and Ponderosa Pine trees, ideal for seasonal camping. The park also features hiking trails that offer stunning views of the lake and surrounding areas, making it a perfect destination for outdoor enthusiasts.
I'm absolutely in love with this place. It has clean beaches with stunning watercolors, red rocks, and gorgeous views. Hiking, cliff jumping, boating - everything you'd like to do is available here. Even pedal boards are available for rent on the beach. The restrooms are clean and well-maintained. The campground is also well-maintained, with spacious sites that offer a sense of privacy. You can purchase ice and ice cream at the campground

Such a beautiful place! I camped and climbed there for 2 days. The only reason I gave 4 starts is because they don't allow dogs around climbing area and I hate that rule.

This campsite is a great combination of woodsy and beachy. The campsites are big and shaded by the tall trees. There are three beach areas. One for dogs, one main beach and the day use area. Red rock sand beaches are wonderful. The only drawback is that they are all a good hike from the campsite. Flush toilets and showers are great with a dish washing station behind the showers. Camp
Host is awesome. Would have rated this place five stars except for the long hike to the beaches.

It is a cute place for a short stay. If you go to Vernon, you can figure out a lot of wineries, and I'm happy to have good memories with my cat here. The staff here are friendly and take good care of the campsite, and their washroom/shower place is CLEAN🏕always enjoy the trail here.

Nice quiet place, the campground is nice and in shade of trees. The beaches has sun all day, and are clean and not that busy like in Kelowna. You have to park in parking lot and then carry your beach stuff with you (walk 5 min). But is worth it. Clean water is refreshing.

We drove for a couple of hours with this park as our destination but we were disappointed when we got there and discovered it closed for the season. I'm puzzled about why they would close parks in the winter but I guess they're concerned about snow cover on the steep roads. Nevertheless, we were very impressed with the scenery along the way, even on a foggy overcast day.
This was the first time in my life in BC that I've seen a Park Ranger and he just pulled in to turn his vehicle around.

It's a nice and quiet place to visit and to take a break from your busy schedule. Great playgrounds, lots of parking. Ducks are mega cute. Washrooms are usually open and clean. It's a dog on leash park, which is for the best because in the spring the geese are real honkin' jerks. Lots of covered picnic tables for eating at along the grassy areas.

Nice sand beach, good view
Adrian BC — Google review
It was a cloudy day when we went, no crowds at all. Plentiful sand to play in and easy access to swimming in the cool Kalamalka Lake. There is a concession stand but it closed early, so double check time if you plan to grab food or treats from them, but there is a pub right beside Kal Beach (Alexander's Pub). I recommend not having food unattended with your towels/supplies as several fowl (mostly ducks but some geese and occasional seagulls) would frequently check out your things looking for food. We had none so they would generally walk up, check us out, then walk off. The birds weren't aggressive and we only took photos, did not try to touch or otherwise engage with them.
There are public beach access washrooms. Lots of beach parking off of Husband Rd, but you do have to cross a train track and road to access the beach. There is disabled parking and there is wheelchair access across the tracks and a ramp down to the road to where the clearly marked crosswalk lay. There wasn't a noticeable wheelchair beach access pathway/carpet at the beach to cross the sand. And the sand is very soft and awkward to walk in if you're unbalanced or use a cane. Use caution.
Otherwise we had a blast.

Very clean well kept place to spend the day with family and friends. Huge free parking lot off husband road it leads out to the crosswalk and your at the beach. We dropped our gear off first there’s room to pull up behind the pub. Definitely worth the beautiful drive we will be coming back for sure!

We enjoy this beach for our family get togethers. The water is always a beautiful colour, the sun shines on the beach all day, there is shade and a Nice drop off zone plus free parking close by.
The dock is really big and fun to play on or jump off of. Great photo spot as well:). This beach has good bathrooms and a concession as well. I past years they've also had water sports items for rent like paddle boards.
There is a volleyball court and it's just a short walk to a nice restaurant.
The sand is very hot and remember it is a lake, not the ocean so it's more of a fine dirt, not ocean sand. Make sure your little ones have water shoes. We usually bring a tent if we are staying all day as the shade moves substantially.

Well kept. Lots of trees. Love the sound of birds tweeting and it was so soothing. Good for friends and family outings. You can sit on the swimming dock and chill for long hours. The parking space was there along with the street which is next to Alexander pub. It says it's paid, but the parking booth was covered. So it didn't charge us anything.

The dock is very long 100 feet or so, with ladders available at different depths and sides including the end. The lake itself at this beach is shallow and you can walk around 60 ft. off the beach before it starts hitting your shoulders. Parking is interesting as you have to park across the street and then cross a railway track and then a controlled crossing. There is an unloading area where you can pull over and dump your stuff at the controlled crossing. Pack water and an umbrella for shade, you'll be happy you stopped by. Please don't litter 💗

Very nice dock. Families and Kids can play volleyball on the beach or swim between the sand beach and this dock. Sure have lots people in a hot summer day.

My home town childhood beach the same as ever. Well kept considering the extremely busy season it's been. great concession plenty of shade and sun for everyone's preference.
The parking patrol was a complete joke and the area I parked was a complete ticket trap the signage was turned from view and the shoulder was wide and was well suited for parking. He couldn't explain the reason for not being permitted to park nor did he even listen to reason when I respectfully pointed out the poor signage postings.
Ticket will be disputed.
Plenty of parking except the one small section of street side near the tennis courts
Vernon, despite being a relatively small city, has plenty to offer nature enthusiasts, especially if you enjoy hiking. The BX Creek & Falls Trail is an impressive option for those seeking breathtaking scenery and exercise. The trail follows the river and features numerous water displays, including the BX falls. While well-maintained staircases and bridges can be found throughout the hike, certain parts of the actual trail may be a bit challenging in spots or icy in winter.
A beautiful scenic ravine hike for medium skilled / experienced people. You will need hiking shoes. Some of the trail is washed out and detours require clambering up and down near vertical terrain. There are areas in the creek that have rock beds that are cool to investigate. A linear trail in which you will have to turn around at the end and go back. You can enter the trail at either head. The falls has its own separate staircase that is well built and quite safe. Keep your children close as there are some areas that could result in a bad fall.
Bug spray is recommended but it wasn't too bad at all. Third time to this trail in 3 years. Good fun exercise and can be very tranquil for nature lovers.

Exploring this short trek was truly delightful, offering breathtaking views along the way. Keep in mind to bring your own provisions as there aren't any shops nearby. While the descent involves a fair amount of steps, the journey to the falls is well worth it, taking about 20 minutes from the starting point.

What an Amazing trail, weather you just want to go for a short stroll or a ln afternoon hike this trail can accommodate. The trail follows the river and has a beautiful display of water features including BX falls. There are a number of staircases and bridges (all very well maintained), the actual trail can get a little rough in spots and icy later into the winter. I will never get tired of hiking this trail!

Beautiful track, better go until the second metal steps and return to the other thru the river and waterfall, there was some ice but not too cold. Dog can go on a leash. Parking next to the road on a curve, easy road and track with good weather.

A waterfall and a easy hike just mins from the city. The stairs down are not to bad. Newly built sections and pretty wide for a trail. The fall itself is small but still beautiful. You can find a path across the rocks and through the trees for a good hike along the creek bed. It is about 6km round trip.

Nice easy short walk to the falls from the carpark. There was plenty of water flowing when we visited. A few steps down to the falls.
Steve E — Google review
Great trail along the creek. Easy grade from the bottom up with a few narrow areas where the trail was washed out by flooding. Anyone with decent physical fitness and coordination can make it past. Some great staircases down to the actual falls. Nice change of pace for the area. There were lots of dogs on the trail so I assume it's dog friendly

5.8K trail near Vernon, moderately challenging route. Take about 1:30 hours to complete, alot of green surrounding with you, awesome for hot summer day, good for friends and family, dogs friendly!

Absolutely beautiful. We went as a family. Our two children both under 10 were amazed by all the natural beauty. Fairly easy walking trail. To get closer to the falls, there are quite a few stairs to climb; however, you can still witness the beauty from above.

Great little shaded trail by a creek. The small falls are near the entrance down some stairs and are very pleasant. Very quiet during the weekdays when we went.
Daniel Silver — Google review
Such a great little trail. The hike is more like a short walk but there are lots of stairs and the trail is next to a river. If you walk here in the spring be prepared for a wet walk as the falls flows pretty rapidly. It’s gorgeous. Sadly I had to pick up a lot of garbage someone else left behind in the parking lot. I rated it 4 stars because if the gate does get locked by parks at night, the staff don’t pick up and clean the lot. I’ve rated it moderate due to the amount of stairs. It’s not handicap accessible.

Great trail. Very easy for beginner. It’s peacefull and not too long. You could have the chance to see many animals

Hiked down to the falls with my grandsons in tow. They loved the waterfall. Easy going main trail which was very well maintained. Stairs back up from the waterfall was a great bout of exercise for a retiree but well worth it. Stairs were in excellent condition and seemed new. We arrived before 9:30 am and were the first ones there. By 10:30 am the parking lot was full of cars. Excellent way to spend the morning.
Splashdown Vernon is a water park that boasts an impressive array of attractions including 10 slides, a playground, and an arcade. The facilities are well-maintained and clean with stunning views and multiple food options available. While some visitors may find the selection of only 11 waterslides to be limiting, many others were seen enjoying themselves immensely. The park offers ample opportunities for visitors to make lasting memories with their friends and family, making it a worthwhile destination for those seeking fun in the sun.
Really nice place to spend the day with the family! There are plenty of slides to choose from, delicious food and ice-cream if needed and the view over Vernon is amazing! The kids had a blast.

Its a good place to have fun this summer season for family but 1.Slides is not that smooth, the joints of the slide is scratching the back 2.the changing room is not that clean and during our visit have stinky smell (suggestion-should have a dryer or spinner to dry clothes) 3. Clarify and explain further your rules before entering the park.
By the way the staff is very friendly.

Had an awesome time with the family here. The slides were great, especially the lazy river tube ride. The view was beautiful, and the French fries were top notch. I would love to have given 5 stars but their burgers, and I don't care about the price, it's expected, they were very sad burgers. Huge bun and tiny patties. Othe than the tho, I will definitely be back and hopefully get a cabana this time!
Geoff Easterbrook — Google review
This place is well maintained, very clean, spectacular views, and many food options. The reason I gave it only 4 stars was because after an hour, our family was a little bored. We have an 8 year old and 6 year old. Both were a little bored as the waterslides are slower than what they have experienced in the past. There were only 11 slides to choose from.
That being said, I saw several people laughing, smiling, having the time of their lives. It seemed that everyone was really enjoying their time there. I saw many people building great memories with their friends and family. I'm glad we went. We did have some fun, but it's just not for us.

Clean change rooms and bathrooms. Cabanas are beautiful and are the way to go. Very clean and well kept. Life guards were very friendly and quick to respond after our daughter got flipped in her tube.

We went on opening weekend and it was quite busy but the lines were very manageable. The new slides are a hit with the kiddos. The park was quite clean and well serviced. I recommend getting a cabana if you can, it was a lovely gathering spot for everyone.

Great day out. Well run facility with lots of staff. We spent the entire day there and both kids and adults had a blast. We had a rooftop cabana, which was a perfect home base for grabbing a snack or having some downtime. It also took the stress away from rushing to claim a spot. If you're there all day, I highly recommend the added luxury.
It's great that you can bring in your own food. The food concession looked really good with hearty servings. The new slides are fast and fun.
I think this might become an annual outing!
It's great to play like a kid again.

Great slides. Wish there were more. Wait times can be crazy on slides due to ppl not wearing proper swim wear. You can't slide in street wear. Prices are high for what is available.

They have 3 new slides which are awesome. It’s very clean and they do serve burgers etc.. but you can bring your own food and drink. We bought the all day pass on line so we could get a covered table to set up our stuff. This was a lot of fun for the kids but us too, we really enjoyed it

Our family had the *best* day at Splashdown!
We arrived before opening at 9:50 a.m. and were able to secure a shaded picnic bench on the grassy area. We also brought a Costco shade tent and a cooler with our own food and drinks. We did buy popsicles, slurpees (which were delicious) and an ice cream cone from the concession stand.
Our 7 yo twins loved the Aqua Rush slides and the River Riot (tube ride). We also enjoyed the Intermediate slides (the one on the left is super speedy) and Slide C.
We had no issue with wait times, although the waterpark did get considerably busier once it reached 2 p.m. We were having so much fun we weren’t phased by the extra people.
The young staff were friendly and helpful. We didn’t see any of them on their phones while working as one reviewer indicated. Instead they were all eagle eyes on the riders and the slides.
Did we all get some scratches from the rides? Yup we sure did but they’re more of a badge of honour as opposed to something to complain about.
Strongly recommend for a fantastic family day out! The view of Swan Lake is stunning! Worth every dang penny :)

I recently had the opportunity to visit Splashdown Water Park, and it was a fun-filled day of aquatic adventures. Situated on the outskirts of the city, Splashdown offers a variety of thrilling water attractions that cater to visitors of all ages.
One of the standout features of Splashdown is its impressive range of slides. From adrenaline-pumping speed slides to twisting and turning tube slides, there's something for everyone seeking an exhilarating experience. The slides are well-maintained, and safety measures are clearly emphasized, ensuring a worry-free day of enjoyment.
The wave pool at Splashdown is a major highlight. With its gentle waves and ample space, it provides a perfect setting for relaxation or some water-based fun. Whether you want to float lazily on an inflatable tube or jump through the waves, the wave pool offers a refreshing break from the more intense attractions.
For families with younger children, Splashdown has a dedicated kids' area with shallow pools and mini-slides. This section is well-designed and allows parents to keep a close eye on their little ones while they have their own water adventures. It's great to see that the park takes the needs of all visitors into consideration.
Splashdown also offers ample amenities for a comfortable visit. There are plenty of shaded areas and lounge chairs to relax in between activities. The food options are decent, with a variety of snacks and refreshments available.
The staff at Splashdown are friendly, helpful, and attentive. They ensure that the park is clean and well-maintained throughout the day, and they are always available to assist with any queries or concerns.

We got last 3 hour tickets which was enough time to enjoy this place for us. Since our kids are teenagers, half of them weren't that attractive. Slides are slow, and line-ups are long. The good long ones weren't fully open. We were driving a motorhome and parking was impossible! We had to park down at the marketplace. So inconvenient. One time experience was good enough. I recommand to take your chairs or picnic stuff since it's super busy there.
Really nice view, and we still had fun!
Raina Kim — Google review
Great water park! My only comment is that their slides are either kiddy slides or super fast slides and not much in the middle. My kids 8, 10 and 12 essentially stuck to two rides because that was all that worked for their comfort level. Be sure to get there early if you want a picnic table. The locker system is great and the staff are amazing.

Splashdown is a great place to visit. There is a space for all ages. My children love this place and I always recommend it to our friends with children. You can bring your food or buy it there.

We booked our tickets and cabana at the beginning of June for our July 20th day at the slides. I highly recommend pre purchasing your tickets to ensure guaranteed entry into the park. Ensure you do not need to run to your vehicle for anything else, because you can not come back in. Our experience was exceptional, the stuff was very friendly and the park was kept very clean. Our private cabana was located right by a garbage can and at first when I saw it, all I could think about was the wasps. The park had a huge history of wasps every year prior, but staff was up changing the garbage can, probably every hour. I couldn’t believe how on top of it they were and how much it has managed to keep the wasp control down. This was by far the best experience I’ve experienced with the waterslides and we go every year. To who ever is managing or who owns this property, great job with ensuring your staff meet customer needs. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. A few extra new slides is an added bonus too. Great Job Splashdown, we will be back next year with more excitement than last year.
Nice stop. Clean bathrooms and a great view, plenty of room for larger vehicles and even trailers.

Kekuli Bay Provincial Park is a bustling wilderness area with an impressive lakefront campground, boat launch and scenic trails for hiking and cycling. Visitors can enjoy BBQ facilities at the park while taking in the natural beauty of the surroundings. Although busy, it is recommended to make reservations ahead of time to secure a spot. The park features well-maintained water taps and flush toilets, as well as free showers.
Nice area to stretch an take a break, beautiful beach, nice little pathways. Very well maintained. It has a good boat launch and some picnic areas as well.

Water is blue, have mainly 2 shades to it, light and dark blue, absolutely mesmerizing and the place is serene. Sometimes it also have shades of green. It has plenty of parking space and boat launch area. You can also spot people fishing. The water is crystal clear and you can view submerged or underwater plants. Its not an ordinary lake with a sandy beach. It's rocky with no sand, so do take chairs with you if you want to sit and relax. There is biking trail all along. Can also spot poison ivy in the area. All in all a beautiful location and a must visit.

A very popular park. Probably due to the convenience of getting off the ship. However, the parking lot is very crowded and the beach is very narrow. So we have to walk a long way to get space. The water quality is very good. Swimming keeps off hot of summer .

Nice campground, with large sites.
Great to have flush toilets and warm showers!
Close to the beach, but needed more signage (and maybe a path through the campground) to get there.

Why they don't keep it open during the winter and use winter rates on the campground with no power is beyond me. Tons of open space to play, not much is a beach compared to juniper Bay/ rattlesnake point. Showers in the summer, right on the Kal Lake Rail Trail, a few tent sites. Not much privacy. Cell service is spotty. Drive In is all pavement. Lots of boat trailer parking.

Quite a busy place, even on a Monday. I got a tent site for a night, but not sure you’d be able to get much else without a reservation. It’s a beautiful place, but you do need to walk a bit to get to a sandy beach. Plenty of water taps and flush toilets. Showers are nothing fancy but they’re free.

Kayla Elenbaas — Google review
It's a nice boat launch and ok campsites but there's not a lot of privacy so we felt like it's only good for a few nights. There's not a lot to do except swim, ride your bike, use the boat launch and a small playground for young kids. There is the rail trail that winds along the lake that bisects the boat launch road and it's a great way to get some exercise. Their beaches are rocky but the water makes up for it. It's not within walking distance to any amenities so you'll need to drive around 10 minutes to get anything.

The water as per pics attached is simply breathtaking and you'd think we were in the Caribbean..
Large boat launch with two launches and piers that are slippery.
Clean bathrooms
Lots of parking for trailers and reg cars
There's a campground which requires reservations.
Long graveled trail around the lake for walking or biking and several swimming spots.. recommend you wear water shoes as it is rocky.

Beautiful area, boat launch, camp ground for rvs, hiking trails and the okanagan rail trail following along the stunningly beautiful kalamalka lake, this is by far one of the prettiest places in the okanagan valley.
I would also mention that the bathrooms are closed in winter season,I tried a couple times to access them but were closed, there are a few in the park so maybe one is open however maybe not, just a heads up.

Great camping in the desert. Quiet campground, respectful campers. Staff very friendly. Pet friendly. Gorgeous Kal lake!
Lots of little field mice running around in the long grass and bush areas, you rarely see them. Watch for bull and rattle snakes if going on a hike. Lots of deer around.
Playground is situated near the day use area which is a really beautiful space. Picnic area is on green grass and overlooking the lake. Playground is pretty big as well.
Boat launch area kind of sucks because it's such a busy lake. Huge parking lot but even that was packed full.
Bathrooms have flush toilets even in the outhouses. The main bathroom building has a toilet stall and a few shower stalls as well.

I really enjoyed coming here. We tried their ciders while sitting in the orchard. This was a selling feature for me and one of the reasons why I wanted to go here for a cider tasting. I am a huge fan of their sweet ciders, they have elegant flavours for a decent price. Another bonus, their apples are organic, crisp, and very well-priced. I highly recommend that if you need apples for the season, go here.

The new renovation looks amazing!
We loved coming here before, but now it’s a whole new experience. Reserving a spot for dinner was a very easy process- I bet they will fill up fast!
The service was some of the best I’ve received, you can tell right away that they value customer loyalty and enjoy creating relationships with the locals.
The cider is always top tier, we were asked to pick our favourite and it was almost impossible. Even the plates for the dishes were gorgeous and the food we were recommended from their new chef was stunning.
Fine dining in Vernon just got a whole lot better - this is a place that the town truly needed! Go check it out!

Such a great place ! I was alone and they set up a table just for me underneath an apple tree! The ciders are really good, and the board of charcuterie and cheese was so tasty! Wow! This crew has just stepped it up several notches.
Same great cider, in-the-orchard feel, live music, etc, with added incredible menu items, ambience and year round dining.
Chef Christian put out some amazing meals (we had coal roasted beet salad, seared albacore tuna, fire grilled chicken- crispy&juicy!, and the 10oz AAA ribeye-grilled perfectly), Missy and Trevor ensured we were well taken care of and the rest of the staff were friendly and efficient.

We used to come here quite often when it was Bx - and I must say, the new look and feel are fantastic!
Amazing food (the bread was so good that we wanted to take a loaf home but they were sold out), great atmosphere, and some of the better cider we’ve had in the area.
The new vibes of the place are a bit more fancy, but still very welcoming. The patio is big and a great place to hang out.
Could not recommend Cambium enough!

A beautiful spot to spend a evening with friends. I can't say there is a restaurant that compares in ambiance, it's tucked away in a Apple orchard and the whole dining experience was something you'd expect to find in a big city center. I really loved the food, the service and the cider.

Today it was my first time visiting Cambium Cider Co. in the 23 years I visited Vernon.
During my quest to visit every restaurant, café, and eatery in Vernon since July 2021, this was my 86th venue visited in Vernon.
One of my closest friends performed here as a singer.
There is a ton of seating here. Indoors, patio in front of the stage, and picnic tables in the orchard.
Not every picnic table has an umbrella so the sun may be intense if you pick the wrong table and burn easily.
The picnic tables are great if you have a big dog with you.
The cider flights are $16 dollars. After tax and an 18 percent tip it comes to $19.10.
As someone who has visited every winery in Lake Country, that is double the price of their $8 wine flights. However, the cider flight is close to twice as much in size.
I tried the sweet flight.
My Sweet Cider Flight Ranking:
1) Raspberry Tart
2) Vanilla Plum
3) Sweet Cherry
4) Apricot Ginger
The first three are really good. The apricot ginger was the only one I didn't like. However, I went to a cidery in Southeast Kelowna when my best friend and I visited seven cideries and wineries in Southeast Kelowna last winter, and didn't like their ginger cider.
The music playlist was 60s slow jams. Multiple songs from Tarantino films including that Al Green song from Pulp Fiction.
The food menu was bigger than expected. I considered buying food, but the cider flight was a priority and I wasn't in the mood for a $40 meal.
Overall, I enjoyed my scenic walk to Camboum Cider and my cider-infused walk back home.
Both servers who helped me were very friendly and helpful.
I highly recommend.

Allan Brooks Nature Centre, located south of Vernon, is a popular destination offering a firsthand experience of the unique heritage of Okanagan. Situated atop grasslands extending from the Great Basin into the forests of south-central British Columbia, it provides miles of trails for exploring native plant and animal life. The center also offers educational programs such as birding classes and wildflower identification workshops suitable for all ages.
I walked up to the nature centre while staying with friends. I didn't go in the building but walked around the paths and sat on a bench and enjoyed the stunning views. I will go back and take a look inside. I went in mid April 2023, everything is still brown. The season is late this year. I'd like to see it in the summer when things are growing so that I can see the plants they have identified. I did see a few Marmots!

Not only is this nature centre an interesting and educational facility in a lovely setting with friendly and helpful staff, they also have a great sense of humour! All of their resident marmots were still hibernating February 2nd (Groundhog Day) and so, rather than disturb them for their weather prediction, they had a stuffy do the honours!

The Okanagan Science Centre is a museum that offers hands-on exhibits for both children and adults in a historic brick schoolhouse. There are two floors of various exhibitions and playgrounds available, making it an excellent destination for school trips or family outings. While the planetarium is currently inaccessible due to stolen items, there are still plenty of cute toys available in the gift shop. The museum provides simple yet enjoyable experiences for younger children at an affordable price of $22 per 2 adults and 1 kid.
This place is great! If you haven't been there, you should. It has a ton of fun exhibits that both kids and adults can enjoy. A few to note were the axolotls (my daughter's looooved), the shadow room and stations upstairs, and the star dome.
We came here for a birthday party and left making plans to come back.
The birthday party packages are super worth the price, and each kid had a blast. We chose the Slime party and it was great! The instructor was very patient with the kids and very helpful. They even got to bring home the slime after!(don't worry parents- it's not sticky slime and is actually really good- coming from a slime free home😂)
They have awesome membership perks, and lots of different clubs and programs to check out.
Their gift shop also has some pretty cool stuff in it.

Probably best for school trips for younger kids. We spent about 30 min there and there was just 1 other family. Very simple, but the staff was nice and they had cute toys in the gift shop. During our vacation we decided to stop and visit this centre. It is small but nicely done. Not too busy on a late Tuesday morning/early afternoon. Exhibits are provided in French and English, and can be easily operated by little ones. Free entrance for any science centre annual subscribers.

Nice place to spend hours with kids 😂
Really affordable price ($22 per 2 adults and 1 kid).
2 floors of different expositions and 2 playgrounds.

We brought our nephews here while they were in town visiting and had an amazing experience. They had an absolute blast. However, there was one person from the staff in particular who made the visit extra special. I believe his name was Gordon. He took the time to speak and teach our nephews about some of the displays and other features of the science centre. This little added touch truly made our experience memorable. Thank you.
The Okanagan Science Centre is a true gem of the North Okanagan.

Each summer our visit to my childhood hometown must include a visit here. As a kid I spent alot of my time at the old science centre downtown so I have many favorite memories and love sharing them with my kids now. Love the historical building that now houses the centre and how affordable a day here is. Would love to see it become more accessible for those with mobility needs but understand the challenge in the location . The staff are so friendly and helpful, we always leave having a great time. A must see for locals and visitors. Help support science and spend the day!

We took an 8 year old there - it was awesome and kept her so busy. Almost every display had hands-on interactive stuff to do. I think this is a great place to bring younger children to. A lot of stuff was fun to do with her too!
We've only been there once but would happily go again!

Our daughter had her birthday party at the Science center. Zach did a fabulous job of meeting the kids where they were at and making the experience so much fun and enjoyable for a large group of kids. The staff was outstanding and the activities were a blast!

I took my both my kids here (5 & 13). We got to do the planetarium show which was so cool and informative. The hands on activities were really great for the kids and the staff were all very friendly. I will 100% be coming back!

Reasonable prices. Some good hands on interactive features. I do feel some of these need maintenance and checking each day to make sure they are working - some of the gears needed batteries and the ball blowing machine has bits broken off it. Some of the toys needed washing and sorting. So irritating not to be able to build models when pieces are missing. This small things would improve the experience.

This place of wonder, so much to do, so much to learn. Experiments, shows, exhibits, interactive play, and that gyro chair ride was the cats meow! They have done an outstanding job making all things science, exciting, fresh, and fun for all audiences. We quite enjoy ourselves! The staff is amazing! And knowledgeable. A must go to.

Great homeschool classes and impressive exhibits. Plus the added bonus that the annual membership gets you into so many other Science centers.
Lake City Casino is a vibrant establishment that offers exciting table games, poker, and slots to its guests. In addition to gambling, the casino also features live shows and serves savory lunch and dinner buffets. The management has recently introduced several new machines while removing some old favorites, making it necessary for players to bet max in order to be eligible for progressives. However, some customers have expressed disappointment with the tighter machines that offer fewer chances of winning.
Friendly helpful staff. They even gave me a promotional offer for my birthday! A fun place to test your luck and roll them dice
Jeff — Google review
Lots of new machines. Old favorite ones have been taken out. More and more machines forcing people to play max bet to be eligible for the progressives.
Machines seem a lot tighter, which is unfortunate.
It used to be more fun to sit at a machine and play for hours instead of one losing streak after another.
Disappointed for sure.
Played again and actually had some fun today.

We had an awesome experience: dinner & drinks in the pub, then some play time on the slots. The staff were all helpful and friendly. We were surprised they closed at midnight (on a Thursday) as we planned on making a whole night of it! Great casino - check it out if you're in the area!

I attended the casino with my friend on his first night out since being restricted to a wheelchair. Before we even entered the building John promptly got stuck in the doorway, the super kind security guard named Jesse came to our aid immediately and helped John manoeuvre himself out if his Conundrum while making jokes and easing a situation that was humiliating to John.
We ate supper at Match, it was the best Cesar salad I’ve ever had!!
I’m new to playing black Jack and the workers at the table, Greg, Dawn and Keenan ( I hope I said their names correctly) were professional and so helpful.
Drinks were reasonably priced and the waitresses were fast and friendly.
When it was time to call it a night Jesse who was checking in on us all night and joking went above and beyond and helped me load John into the handivan.
Thank you so very much for the successful evening which will be many more in the future because of the service we received…
Thank you again and keep up the great work !!!

Recently been ok. Hadn't been there in over 10 years, cause 10 years ago I went there with my girlfriend and after 2, yes I was on my second drink, kicked me out. I swore to never go back but had to meet a buddy there 10 years later. It's much better now, as far as I can tell....

I'm not a gambler but wanted to check out the casino. We've eaten here in the past and the food is so good. This time was just to play and well we weren't here very long. Haha. Played my 20.00, enjoyed the atmosphere and left. If you like to play this place is for you.

Very, very hot inside. I understand the weather is hard to deal with right now, but better a bit cool than how warm it is. Otherwise, staff is awesome! Such a nice, relaxing place to spend a few hours.

This was my first visit to the casino proper (excluding the Match restaurant) in a few years.
It has been 3 weeks since the casino reopened due to covid. Many machines were broken, and we wish there was more space for social distancing purposes when walking through the casino.
Staff was polite and friendly. It was relaxing and calm in there for a late Friday night even with a large crowd.
Plus we won at the slot machines!

Kin Beach is a public park located by the lake and offers various amenities such as play equipment, sand volleyball court, a picnic pavilion, and grassy areas. The water at the beach is relatively warm with some water grass, wood chips, sandy and rocky shoreline. However, it's worth noting that there are no dogs or campfires allowed in the area. Additionally, camping isn't permitted on-site.
Love coming here to enjoy the lake and views

IMPORTANT- Unfortunately the beach, grass, and path is overrun by geese and heavily covered in their droppings(you can hardly take a step without landing in it). I definitely would not plan to go for a walk there, let alone spend the day there or go swimming.
Riley Sangster — Google review
This park has sadly become worse and worse over the years... the kids call it the GPP (goose poop park) It has a beautiful sand volleyball area, playground and large trees to enjoy, but the geese have made it impossible to enjoy. The poop problem had gotten so bad that there have been swim advisories. Take a pass until the city figures it out.

Great if you want a less busy beach to sit at! Beautiful new park area just to the west with huge logs and Adirondack chairs to sit on!

It was a really pretty park and beach area, there was goose poop everywhere on the grass though so be ware.

Water is pretty warm. It has some water grass and wood chips, sandy and little rocky beach. Personally, don’t like geese or ducks around lake due to hygiene considerations. No dog, No campfire, No camping.

Visited the park just down from the public beach. Like most places in BC the mountain and water views are breath taking.

Nice beach, there is a grassy side with a playground, and a more 'wild' side which is less maintained from what it seems. Lots of geese here.
The kids love this beach as it has shade, grass, nice sand and shallow water.
I had my engagement photos taken here and they turned out lovely :)

The Museum & Archives of Vernon houses a vast collection depicting the heritage of North Okanagan. It showcases historical objects, dioramas, photos and documents that provide insights into Vernon's rich military past, intriguing artists and various surprising facts. The museum offers a range of activities such as ghost tours with Gabe and concerts every Thursday evening. Similar to Heritage Park in Calgary, the displays showcase life in the early 1900s through old antiques on display.
Fifteen years ago, this building changed from a library to a museum and archives.
The last time I was here was in elementary school when my best friend and I had to research science projects in the fifth grade. I don't talk to him anymore. This was twenty-one years ago.
Today was my first time stepping foot inside since then.
Recommended donation for entry is $5 to $10. Given how tiny the museum is and contrasting it with the cost of other museums around the world that I have visited in 63 countries, $5 seems like the reasonable amount (or even less).
What is shown here doesn't overlap much with O' Keefe Ranch, thankfully.
It talks about immigrants from Asia, First Nations artifacts and communities, the canoe, the first mayor, the first radio station, the first pharmacy, and the first school.
There are general fun facts about animals too in a section designed for kids.
The Gold Rush years and the history of local war detachments are mentioned here too.
I would say you could read every line of every installation and be out of here in under an hour. Most people will struggle spending more than 30-40 minutes.
Overall, if you're a tourist, only pop in here if you happen to be around City Hall or it's a day of lousy weather. Don't go out of your way to come here.
If you're local, it's a great way to learn about local history that you likely forgot about since the fourth grade.
P.S. A man offered a co-worker an ice cream sandwich. I said I would like to have one, but he didn't offer me any.
Logan Saunders — Google review
If You love the heritage of Vernon, you should go take a look. Some of the displays are similar to the Heritage park in Calgary. But I guess it is how people's life was in the early 1900.

I never realized how much history Vernon had as a city. Rich military past, interesting artists, and loads of surprising facts. I recommend taking your family for a visit and checking out the mural and ghost tours with Gabe. Every Thursday evening there are concerts out front of the museum which is really neat.

Paddlewheel Park & Beach in Vernon is a hidden gem offering a relaxing getaway. The park boasts amenities like a playground, basketball courts, and a sandy beach on Okanagan Lake. It's perfect for picnicking under beautiful trees. Visitors can enjoy the warm shallow area for kids to play and stunning views of planes taking off from the nearby airport. Additionally, there's the Sternwheeler Museum to explore the area's history.
Great beach, great park. Not crowded at all, and warm shallow area for kids to play. Awesome views, and near the airport, so if you enjoy watching planes and helicopters taking off, or coming in for a landing, you're in a great spot. Also, the Sternwheeler Museum is there, so you can learn about the long history of the area.

Great park and my daughter absolutely loves to stop here and play on the swings and many other pieces of equipment that they have. I find that there is always parking and that Incan launch my boat when needed. The background is stunning and one of my favorite places in Vernon. It is worth a hour of your time to check out this gem of a park.
