My first impression of Kingston Park Chatham Ontario was that it is a water park extraodinaire. It has water spouts, water falls and a series of sprinklers that on a super hot day..you sit in the middle and cool off. They also have gazebos for out of the storm picnic areas that will sit 50 peeps easy. The park has real intriquit climbing equipment with soft landing pads at the bottom of slides and under swings..which they have plenty of. You really have to see it in person(see photos). At the top of the hill is a rest room area and an administration partition. That os one side of the park. The other side is more for adults. There is stainless steel exercise equipment and a series of path walkways, large green areas and benches all around(see videos). The only park that I've been to that is as impressive is East Park London Ontario. Kingston Park was made for every event and tons of summer time cool refreshing fun. You won't regret it for a moment. Luv Malcom๐ช๐๐Stay strong Chatham.

Born and raised in Chatham so I've seen this park transform over the last few decades. I love the walking path, splash pad, equipment (especially the stuff dedicated for disabilities), pavilions, hill...etc.
My kids have all enjoyed this park and as for the park itself I cannot find any faults except for this statue. All of my kids are really uncomfortable with it and it's not hard to see why.
The adult lion is holding a cub in its paw. It is a statue but the cub gives the appearance that it is lifeless and the facial expression of the adult lion appears mournful.
I don't know who picked this statue but it should be replaced. I know several artists in CK that would love the opportunity to donate their work so there would be no cost to the community other then removal and installation to codes.
I have spoken to a few other parents from the kids groups my kids have gone to and more then not this is the opinion everyone shares. A couple of them have stopped bringing their kids because of how upset it's made their kids. Other parents have done what we do, when we go we park away from it, avoid walking by it and don't go to the equipment around it. Even more upsetting a few of the parents that have rainbow babies feel triggered by this statue.
I truly hope CK parks can replace it. It's a know your audience moment.

Kingston park is one of the few truly family locations in Chatham. With 3 playgrounds, a summer splash pad, an excellent walking track, a well-maintained collection of fitness equipment, and a lot of green space, there is space for everyone of all ages.
Parking is spacious. The picnic pavilions are large, with ample garbage disposal in both pavilions. The public restrooms are well maintained and centered in the space, so accessible from everywhere.

Great park with lots of different areas for kids to play. A bit on the larger side, so it can be hard to watch your kids if they move around a lot. The water park stopped around 2pm, not sure if they take breaks for the water, but it was a nice opportunity to cool down inside in the air conditioning. We will definitely go back again!

Fantastic and very friendly bartender (Riley) made it a comfortable and pleasant visit and chatted throughout. Likely should be the lead bartender :) She was helpful finding the beers i liked as well for some off-sales.
Unfortunately the kitchen wasnt open yet so i didnt get to try the food but next time.

Rondeau Provincial Park, an historic park featuring a visitor center, boat launch, and a dog beach alongside picnic areas, campsites and trails. The park boasts of a barrier-free trail that offers hikers an up-close look at the beautiful old-growth Carolinian forest with towering tulip trees and various rare southern species such as Sassafras and Shagbark Hickory trees.
Spent 5 days here in July. We loved that you can walk to beach from campsites or you can drive and park at entrances along the beach. Beach was very clean and has a long shoreline so you can easily find a spot away from people. We drove to the dog beach it is a little bit of a drive but we stopped at visitor Center along the way. Lots of rocks but it was empty and water was clean.
Visitor Center was a Great spot to take the kids to see a few turtles and learn about native wildlife.
Park store sells ice cream which is also walking distance from some sites. Kids loved walking to get ice cream as a treat.
Definitely recommend this park for camping with young children. Only downfall is that the playground was far from campsites and needs to be updated

Long beach with clean water and fine sands; camping facilities are clean and good maintained; even though the privacy of camp site not that good, I still like this park. Especially the long trail from camp area to Tulip Tree Trail, you can enjoy a such peaceful scenic route whatever you are biking, hiking or rollerblading. If you like more, you can keep going from Tulip Tree to South Point Trail(Friendly reminder, lots of hungry mosquitoes are waiting for you in this trail, make sure you are ready for yourself and family members (เนหฬตแดหฬต)ู).

Peaceful and lovely park to camp on Lake Erie. Only a short walk to a long and beautiful sandy beach that has a large shallow area so suitable for young children, I like they have specify beach access for campers so is easier to avoid a big crowd. The comfort station and showers are very clean and well maintained. The only downside is we went there during rainy days . So the number of bugs and mosquitos were a little too much to handle compared the campgrounds we'd been to.

Our favourite Provincial Park, we were there today so we could watch the eclipse from the beach. We pre-booked a day pass slot, thinking it might be busy, and we were glad we did. The park was full and those without booked slots were being turned away. The line up to get in wasn't too bad, and the people on the gate were super friendly. Once in the park, I was surprised to find plenty of parking available, and although the beach was busier than I've ever seen, it takes a lot of people to make 12Kms of sand look full up so it was quite comfortable. There was a cold north easterly wind blowing which made it quite cold on the beach, but I guess I can't fault the park for that. A great day out, and I'm glad we went. The photo was taken during totality.

Fantastic Park
We have visited this park a few times.
Many nice flat trails nothing strenuous.
Nice beaches! Dog beach is rough though very rocky and water is rough the day we went.
Other beach points are beautiful.
Beaches are quite always from campsites. Prepare for a long walk or must drive or bike.
My grand kids love this park. As it has beach on one side and Rondeau Bay on the other side. They like exploring close to shore looking for critters.
Most Campsites not very private, any of them.
Some in fact have absolutely no privacy, to say poor is an understatement, should say none.
But still they are nice and clean.
The birding migration in the spring was worth the trip. We didnโt go on the weekends so we missed some specific tours but we did follow a guide out one of first days which was very helpful. Next time I think another day would be good as we are newbies. He was very very informative. I had 10x50 binoculars to difficult to spot any birds. I have since purchased 8x42 ( on the recommendation of our guide ) and oh what a difference. Wish I had them for our trip.
You can rent canoes in the area which is a nice little excursions along the shore of Rondeau Bay especially since Marsh Trail is closed. We saw Green Heron, water snakes and many other birds. So peaceful.
The small Visitors center is fun. They have a few turtles and a wall of the different kids of trees the have in the park and a nice indigenous section. Informative.
The have programs too. Check website for updates on those.
A nice well kept clean park.
And a friendly and helpful staff!

Well maintained park with camping and cottages. Lots of trails, great for biking, and many beach access points. The wildlife museum is a must see, and there are shops (inside and just outside park) for items you forgot to pack, ice, household items and hand scooped ice cream. There's a fee for entrance into the park. Our family has owned at cottage here since the 1940s, when Rondeau offered horse stables, a dance hall, mini golfing as well as other activities (there is still a sailing club). But now it's more of a nature park that really doesn't change much from year to year. Always do a tick check when coming back from outdoor activities!

A beautiful park with well-maintained facilities and very friendly staff and campers. The area's hospitality is fantastic, and make sure to stop by the park store for some ice cream as they have a great selection. The restaurant is also excellent, with delicious strips, fries, and more. Don't forget to visit the Bayview Market outside the park, where you can find a small LCBO, lots of baked goodies, and a shop that sells last-minute forgotten supplies. Parking is conveniently located near the beach area and is easily accessible with plenty of space for your gear. However, it is advisable to bring lots of bug spray as the black flies and mosquitoes can be vicious. This is not the park's fault, though. The campsites are spacious but lack shade, so plan for a tent for shade. Overall, it's a fantastic park to camp with your family.

Rondeau Provincial Park is a hidden gem in Southwestern Ontario. The Lake Erie portion of the park offers beautiful beaches and sweeping horizon. The Rondeau Bay side of the park has sheltered water for water sports and fishing. In between is a wonderful stretch of unique land to discover native plants and animals, go birding, hiking, and camping.
The campgrounds are well-maintained, with clean bathrooms and excellent shower facilities. Walking/Biking paths connect camping to both bodies of water, the playground, and the camp store. The venue is in the middle of downtown, and parking is very difficult to acquire. Accessible parking is at the back of the building you then have to go up the side of the building to get in(in the cooler weather or if it's windy the walkway is like a wind tunnel). The entrance is on an incline, and often, staff stands at the top to take your ticket, so if you have someone with mobility challenges or in a wheelchair the incline makes it challenging to interact with the staff and keep anyone with mobility challenges stable.

Buxton National Historic Site & Museum, situated in North Buxton near Chatham-Kent, tells the story of Lord Elgin's creation of a sanctuary for emancipated slaves in 1849. The settlement, known as the Elgin Settlement, was established by 15 former African-American slaves and abolitionists who purchased a tract of land. It became a thriving agricultural community founded by refugees who used the Underground Railroad to reach Canada.
We wanted to understand more about African Canadian history, and boy did Michelle deliver. I had understood some aspects of the slave trade and the underground railroad, but Michelle really brought it to life. The big gap for me was how escaped slaves settled and prospered. The very high standard of education was also a revelation. This is an important part of Ontario history that is not nearly as well known as it should be. Make the trip. Highly recommended.

Love everything about this place. I always bring with me veggies and fresh bananas. I also buy many bags of feed from the park to support. Animals are healthy and vibrant and lucky they have a caring family to look after them. Animals in the wild are being poached to extinction and their natural habitat is being ravaged to supply human demands. Places like these give people the opportunity to see these beautiful animals. The wolf enclosure is absolutely amazing. The lions can be lazy but they have plenty of room. Tigers are fantastic and also have plenty of room to stretch and play. I always bring different friends and family and visit multiple times a year. I just love being out there and the family the runs the place is great. After 8 pm they never kick me out and give me time to finish feeding all the begs I bought. Canteen has decent food too. Sometimes I read people reviews complaining about smells and what not. They are animals that use the restroom out in nature and the workers and family regularly clean and as often as they can. May God be my witness Iโm not a personal friend or even know the family who owns this place that well. Iโm just returning patron who loves the place. People who complain about space must have the wrong place reviewed. Did they visit a human prison? because thatโs what they are describing the cages people sit in that other people put them in. These animals have plenty plenty of space. The wolf enclosure is massive with a major water whole at the centre absolutely beautiful. Lions naturally like to do very little if they donโt need to hunt and they have plenty of room. Gators grow in size according to their environment and are almost always comfortable doing nothing. Itโs an amazing place.

This place has come a long way since I was a kid! Not perfect but they have a good array of different animals. We can loaded with fruits and veggies to hand to the animals and while some were not accessible, we took particular enjoyment from feeding the ring-tailed lemurs (Zaboomafoo!). We had a splendid day and honestly this place can only improve from here. Keep up the good work!

Small local zoo, great for half a day trip, animals look well taken care of, amazing park , splash pad is small, they have a restaurant and food prices are abit steep.
Some animals need better enclosures and more space but not worth a whole day.
Got through the animals in 2 to 3 hours then did lunch and park, was there for half a day.
Animals are close though , you'll always see them and can feed them

Came to the little zoo to take pics of the animals. Got some great ones too.
The animals are well cared for.
A couple of gals went pen to pen feeding all of them.
They sure knew that lunch was nearby.
It was a beautiful day.
Not too busy.
Didn't get over to the play area but lots of kids having fun there too.

The entire track and facilities have be completely re built and improved. There is literally not trace of the old track that once was, this is a new facility (still in progress) that must be checked out by any race fan.

Great local track to watch oval dirt track racing. Cars are fast, loud and kick up a lot of dust. Bring ear-plugs and safety glasses (helps see as it gets dark), a cushion to sit on and have a great night of racing action! The new owner has been investing regularly in this track to improve stands and various amenities. For people that love racing and want to see something in the Chatham/Kent/Essex Counties, this place is a great option!

Had a great evening out with the family Saturday night! Kids had a blast and so did we! Food was great and the selection they had to choose from was incredible! (Hot dogs, burgers, nachos, candy & treats, beverages and freezes just to name a few!) the track and grandstands are still under construction, but they have done an amazing job so far! (Considering unforeseen circumstances) We are looking forward to going back soon!

Weather was a factor. Very windy. Last time we were there was 10 years ago. Track redesign offers poor visibility of track, stands offer no protection from elements no comfort. Port a potty only type of bathroom. Food ok. But pricey. Bring something to sit on and use good eat protection.

RM Classic Cars, Inc is a remarkable establishment where photography restrictions are in place. The staff is exceptionally amicable and their craftsmanship is truly outstanding. Unfortunately, they no longer offer tours, but I had the privilege of participating in their last one. During my visit, they also held a captivating car show called "Car and Coffee". If you have the opportunity, I highly recommend attending! This event promises an incredible morning with an array of breathtaking automobiles.

I've never really been here on a regular day as I'm sure most, if not all of their cars are out of my price range LoL. I did, however, go to an event the company held on the property and in the buildings associated with the Chatham Retrofest a couple years ago. The event was amazing and definitely the highlight of the whole festival for a lot of people. You can imagine my disappointment when I found out that RM would not be participating this year's Retrofest, maybe next year ๐คท. Maybe one day I'll be able to actually afford to buy something in the showroom as I've always had a soft spot for a few choice cars from the not-so-recent past years. ๐๐๐

We had just purchased a restored El Camino. Needed some tweeking so we reached out to the staff at R&M Auto. From the time they answered the phone to our present relationship with them has been welcoming, friendly, professional. We were storing the vehicle at a local storage place but after feeling the pride and care they take and R&M, for a bit more money we feel better storing our 'baby' with them. If you have questions, these are the people that will look after you. They treat every vehicle with pride like it is their own.

The trails are clearly marked for easy navigation, while the biking paths offer added enjoyment. Despite low water flow in September, the area teems with abundant avian and squirrel life. Excellent amenities such as restrooms and a spacious picnic shelter enhance visitors' experience.

It's always a treat to visit PARKS BLUEBERRIES & COUNTRY STORE!
I haven't visited since October 2022, and the following noticeable changes have occurred:
1. Servings of lunch items are significantly smaller and more expensive.
2. No more added fresh blueberries on the plate or salad when ordering a meal.
3. No more asking if we wanted our pieces of pie heated or if we wanted whipped cream with the pie.
4. No more counter with utensils, cream/milk, or sugar for your coffee/tea. It makes ordering a hot drink awkward because I have my way of fixing up my tea or coffee. Now, I had to tell the server how much cream to put in my coffee until it had the right colour.
PARKS, please bring back the coffee counter and at least 1 free refill of coffee with the purchase of a meal.
5. By 5 p.m. there was only one salesperson left at the cash. She had to handle ringing through customers, go down isles to help customers, and handle a few price checks because items had no price tag on them.
PARKS, please bring back a couple of additional of your amazing salespeople! Have one on the sales floor to assist customers and answer questions and another at the till until closing time, especially on a holiday weekend.
6. I may be wrong here, but I was sure that Pumpkin Spice Muffins with Cream Cheese Filling were available in September 2022. I couldn't find any at this visit which was too bad. I hope they will be available soon!
7. On a positive note, we found a few unique and great items in the country store that we purchased.

The blueberry turnovers were my favorite. The sandwich counter at the back of the shop was a nice surprise if you're in need of a fresh sandwich or slice of warm pie. Prices were on the higher side of things but you can't beat a perfect blueberry and white chocolate scone!

Cute and well stocked little country store! Lots of unique kitchen items, as well as fresh baked goods. Frozen meat pies are excellent as well! The lunch counter is a nice addition, though the prices are high for the offerings. My $10 egg salad sandwich was bare bones (not even lettuce or a tomato slice). Definitely miss the blueberry tarts they used to have!

My family and I have been going here for several years. We enjoy having lunch and then picking blueberries. Unfortunately, Parks has priced themselves right out of our price range for blueberry picking. You have to pick at least 2 pounds per person and they're $3.75 (I'm pretty sure) per pound. With my husband and I, that's 4 pounds that we will never be able to use. Freeze them? We've done that. I just used up my last bag a week ago and they weren't that tasty. Lunch prices have gone up; as they have everywhere and the lunch staff were very curt today. The service at the lunch counter was far from friendly. So, with the higher prices, mandatory 2 lbs picking, I think we won't be back to Parks.

Lovely place in the country full of gifts and food. The blueberries are ready to be picked you can pick or buy already picked. We went for lunch which is a cafeteria style where you grab a tray and order as you walk by. They have a good size menu of sandwichโs soups and even pizza. There are also desserts pie and other goodies. The best thing and the reason we go there is the scones. They are expensive but are the best 6 for 15.00. The scones are big, I usually cut them in half and freeze them. Thawing is quick or 30 sec in the microwave and they are good to go. If you need to get away for a little while try them out for lunch and a stroll through the gift shop and bakery. The scones are so good Iโm glad I donโt live too close.

Pardo's Berrie Farm offers a variety of fresh fruits like peaches, blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries. In August 2018, there were plenty of ripe and easily accessible peaches to pick from. The peaches are incredibly juicy and delicious, providing unmatched satisfaction compared to grocery store options. Additionally, the blueberries were plentiful and ripe. Although the strawberry season was over during the visit, Pardo's Berrie Farm still provided a great experience for picking beans.
Omg their peaches are way too good to be true I love this farm so much!!!!!!!!

Lots of ripe easy to reach peaches to pick from. They're unbelievably juicy and taste incredibly good. The blueberries were ripe and plentiful too. The raspberries looked beautiful and so did the strawberries. Had fun picking our own fruit and the price was very fair.
Some extra gentle care is needed taking fully ripe fruit home. But nothing in a grocery store can compare to the taste and satisfaction of enjoying a ripe, picked minutes from the tree, Ontario grown peach and Pardo's is a great spot for it..

This is my favourite pick your own place. They consistently have the most delicious strawberries in the area. Strawberries are available for purchase both early and late in the season, and pick your own is usually in late June and very early July. After that, pick your own raspberries start, which are good but not great. Blueberries start later than at Parks Blueberries. The bushes are very lush and healthy, and in recent years tasted better than Parks', while being less expensive. They also have pick-your-own green and yellow beans, and a garden with tomatoes, peppers, kale and more. Peaches were sometimes disappointing, but in 2019 I picked Harrow Dawn and they were sweet and delicious. You may want to call before coming to ensure availability because some of the pick-your-own may close temporarily.

A small piece of wild in the middle of Chatham, this nature preserve (called Paxton's Bush by local Chathamers) is a great place to let kids play their Swallows and Amazons or Swiss Family Robinson games. Because it isn't a park, the bushy places between the trails are free for exploration. One commonly comes across a partially constructed branch fortress or lean-to among the trees complete with evidence of pinecone or acorn battles. Yet the space is large enough that one never feels over run by wild children.
Dog walkers, cyclists, and people out for a stroll stay to the maintained trails, which intersect one another, meeting at a center bridge. This means walker/joggers/cyclists have the opportunity to make it a substantial outing through combining trails.

The Chatham-Kent Black Historical Society & Black Mecca Museum
The Chatham-Kent Black Historical Society & Black Mecca Museum is a cultural institution that showcases the rich history and heritage of the black community. This museum serves as a center for education, preservation, and celebration of African-Canadian contributions to society. It offers visitors an opportunity to explore the past through various exhibits, displays, and artifacts that illustrate the struggles and achievements of individuals within this community.
Knowledgeable staff that is very passionate about Chatham's history. Need to add a little more to the tour.
The Wallaceburg and District Museum is a small yet informative establishment, known for its well-organized and neat layout. Although it would be beneficial if the staff had more knowledge about the local history and exhibited artifacts, the museum is still highly recommended as it provides an insightful lesson on the community's past at an affordable price. Visitors are encouraged to bring their family and friends, as out of town guests particularly enjoy this experience.
