The Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory is a tropical garden that houses approximately 2,000 butterflies and exotic birds. Visitors can explore the insect area and receive informative guidance from staff members like Avery. The butterfly area itself is stunning, but visitors should note that it's quite hot for the butterflies, so they should follow any instructions given by staff about coat storage. Inside the conservatory, there's an affordable café with limited vegetarian options.
Came here with my wife and 5 year old. We absolutely loved it. The insect area is very underrated with great information from the nice lady in there, Avery.
The butterfly area itself was beautiful. Also, keep in mind it's very warm for the butterflies so when the lady says the coat room is down the hall, it's a good idea to listen and do that.
There's also a cafe inside which is surprisingly very affordable, however, if you don't eat animals, not many choices.
I'd allow about an hour to see everything in here. We budgeted a bit more time but that wasn't necessary. Unless you plan on eating there.
It was very cool though, a definite stop on the way to Toronto or anywhere in that area.
5/5.

Butterfly conservation park in Cambridge is an escape to tropical environment. They have a variety of botanical specimens which grow in Asia and South America. They have a huge collection of butterflies which are incubated and maintained in a perfect setting. There is a man-made waterfall with fishes and turtles. The staff walks around with caterpillars and rare species explaining it to visitors. The kids had a blast with butterflies landing on them and playing with them. There is an exhibition outside the controlled environment. It showcases spiders, scorpions, poisonous frogs, beetles and worms. The cafeteria at the side has a patio and has basic sandwiches, hot and cold beverages. They have enough parking space. Tickets are 20$ for 13-65 yrs, free for <2 yrs, 15$ for seniors. Overall 4.8/5. It is a great place for Wedding or event photography.

Another amazing attraction in the region of Waterloo. The kids will love it there. This place is magical with beautiful butterflies and birds who happen to be friendly and might sit on you to catch their breath. The staff is very knowledgeable and you will learn so much about these beautiful creatures and more. How can we not talk about Instagram worthiness. You are going to get amazing pics for the gram if you know your angles.

Loved the initiative taken here. I loved all the blue butterflies and the way these butterflies are left soo free. It's a good place to visit even if you are an adult like me. I saw kids enjoying the large variety of butterflies and insects and I was mesmerized how they could recognize the insects.

This place is smaller than the Niagara one. The staff was super friendly and polite, with a wedding going on the cafe was closed but the staff will still get you some things like drinks and snacks. The gift shop ladies were awesome. Thank you to the two ladies in the gift shop, I really needed that water after how hot it was inside with the butterflies Birds and insects.
My Date and I came here for our second date. this was a great idea, we had fun and took a lot of pictures. I'll upload them for the public to view.
although hot, the butterflies were still landing on us and showing us some love, it was an enjoyable experience. I would recommend everyone to come here. butterflies are very transformational beings, when they land on you they are letting you know change is coming for you. the kind of change for some that changes their lives forever. In shamanic traditions butterflies tell us change is around the corner. be prepared and allow these changes to open us up to the new and sometimes challenging experiences.
Visit this place! it's worth it.

Felt like being in a Disney movie. My husband and I enjoyed the conservatory. Lots of butterflies everywhere you look. The hatching section was quite interesting. Saturday was busy. Buy tickets ahead time. The conservatory is warm and humid. There are places to sit and a play area outside for kids. Butterflies appeared to land on people in greens and browns, perhaps thinking they were plants.

Great place to bring the family. Wear something bright to attract the butterflies on you! Kids will love this place!! Cool displays of bugs and a small gift shop. Not sure if the cafe is open yet, but the family had lots of fun! Roughly takes about an hour to go through the whole place.

Lovely place to spend a relaxed couple of hours. It has some great “walls” for photographs . Just to walk around and be surrounded by flashes of brilliant jewel colours is like a painting come alive.
The rooms with the glass cases have all sorts of creepy crawlies and very much alive! Endless variety of mounted butterflies and a wealth of information.
It was our first time here and we had a wonderful time and a very enjoyable afternoon.
There was a wedding event taking place that day so the Cafe was booked, and we didn’t get to try anything there. There is also the customary gift shop .
Definitely worth it.

A beautiful place 🦋 A great selection of birds, butterflies and other creatures! There's a free-fly room where you can watch the butterflies and birds fly around! During hatching season you can watch butterflies emerge from there cocoons. There are also other rooms with with terrariums with frogs, beetles, scorpions, and tarantulas! 🐸🪲🦂 A great place for a date day!

This is one of my favorite places, and I would highly recommend stopping by and having a ton of fun. My wife and I stop here every time we come this way, and we always leave happy. I thought I was afraid of some of the insets 🐛 they have there, but the girl that was bringing them around to people was awesome, so we tried it out. We loved it! Give it a try 💯.

First visited ten years ago and have been waiting to visit again. It is truly a magical feeling. The butterflies are in good condition. The staff were so warm and polite. The conservatory where the butterflies are is quite humid and hot (especially after a hour). Best to dress in layers. Also noticed some butterflies rest on the ground, so I was careful
not to step on them. The cafe there was the perfect spot to rest and chat before going back in to check out the butterflies and birds again!

I had a beautiful visit with my Grandmother. She and I were both delighted to learn about different insects, spiders and more. The atmosphere was so serene and tranquil. They have many different plant types which are very cool to look at on their own. It was one of the most breathtaking experiences that I've had.
If you are looking to be filled with unmistakable, unquestionable happiness, this is the place to come. Sitting down on a bench with a loved one and watching hundreds of butterflies effortlessly glide through the air is an experience that I will treasure forever.

If you want to experience a tropical forest filled with butterflies 🦋 just go there . Plenty of them🦋 🦋. Watch your every step when you are walking,or else you are gonna hurt them . The waterfall ,even though it's a small one ,the mind cleansing vocal of flowing water gets you somewhere else .
Highly recommended to visit there especially for kids .
🦋Better to take tickets 🎫 online, usually with time slot.since there is no guarantee of offline tickets.
Note for South Indians: if you miss the home ambiance, just go there . You can see your garden and neighborhood plants there .

It's a very nice place to spend a couple of hours of quality time with family and friends. The facility has two sections. One section has few exhibits in the glass enclosures and another section has a tropical garden with all the live butterflies flying around. It also has a few very cool birds. Overall it was a very good experience.

This is a must see attraction if you are in the area. The butterflies fly around so freely and their enclosure is well-maintained. There are several things to see before you enter the butterfly area, such as looking at real life blue lobsters or tarantulas. You can also learn about the different types of moths and butterflies. Really cool place!

A beautiful experience for the family, or for a date. You walk into the conservation area, and you are immediately welcomed by butterflies. Tons of different kinds, if you are lucky, they will land on you. They have little birds as well as turtles you can see. It was an unexpected but amazing find.

An Absolutely fabulous way to spend a day! We got tickets for our family as part of a Christmas present and spent the afternoon at the conservatory. Buying the tickets in advance online was a breeze and the admission process was very quick and easy. Walking through the main part of the conservatory is breath taking the different flowers and butterflies make for a very colourful walk through their man-made forest. We went with our 2 year old and he was fascinated by the different butterflies. When we was getting bored of the butterflies there is a lovely jungle-gym and play area behind the cafe which we used to full effect! I would absolutely recommend taking the whole family to this wonderful attraction!

We visited the Butterfly Conservatory on a Saturday afternoon and had a great time. We did book tickets in advance to ensure we could get our time slot but we were a bit early which wasn’t a problem. There is ample parking adjacent to the building including plenty of handicapped parking spots. Not only does the butterfly conservatory offer a chance to see some beautiful butterflies, it also features many different plants, insects and frogs.
The staff were knowledgeable and friendly, and even provided us the opportunity to hold a millipede and a female Jungle Nymph. This was an educational experience that would be great for the whole family. I highly recommend checking it out.

It is always fun to go to the butterfly conservatory! It is very humid so dress accordingly. We went on a nice sunny day and the butterflies were very active. There were a lot of people and it felt quite crowded, but that's to be expected on a nice weekend day. I would still recommend going! Everyone is so professional and kind and it is a great experience for all ages.

Great educational place for kids! A fun place to experience for “kids” of every age. Lots of butterflies, different birds and turtles inside the conservatory itself with a couple rooms outside with bugs and spider etc for kids to learn about. A small cafe inside the building with a seating area and playground outside.

We had a wonderful time at the Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory! The butterflies were absolutely majestic and it was nice to sit and let them come to you. The live insects were pretty cool as well. We had lunch at the cafe and the food was amazing. The cafe staff were awesomely friendly and quick.

It was a very relaxing afternoon in a tropical atmosphere. The blue morpho butterflies flitted all over the place, landing on our heads and shoulders. It's not only butterflies here, though. We saw some small birds, ants, a parakeet or something in the parrot family, goldfish, and two turtles.
It wasn't too full of people. We were there right over the lunch hour. Everyone was so calm it was okay to see them enjoying this bit of paradise. If you have time, a must see is the hatching. If you're patient you might see a butterfly ease out of its cage and stretch out its wings to dry.
I was pleased to have a butterfly land on my finger and rest there for a while. They are such dainty creatures with funny feeling feet. Truly a miracle not made by man!

I recently visited the Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory with my family and friends , and it was a nice experience. The cost was okay, and you can easily spend 2 to 3 hours there. I recommend going with a group for more fun, especially if you have kids—they'll enjoy it. Inside, it's warm, and they've created a kind of artificial tropical weather with many exotic plants from India. There are lots of different butterflies flying around, and they might even land on you if you wear bright colors. Besides butterflies, you can also see other insects in exhibition rooms. There's plenty of parking available too. I highly recommend this place, especially during winter; it's one of the rare places where you can see trees and butterflies during the colder months. Kids playing area is not open during winter.

Such a fun experience! My kids are 8&7 and they absolutely loved it. The butterfly's are just free flying around the whole room. We were a little scared we would step on a butterfly at times because there were so many and a lot of people walking inside where the butterflys were housed. This was a unique experience and I highly recommend for children and adults

Enchanting place to spend a day at, for both children and adults 🦋
You can spend around 2.5 hours visiting the butterfly conservatory, the insect museums and live bugs.
It is best to buy tickets in advance on the website.
It is very warm inside the conservatory (24°C to 28°C) so it is recommended to dress in layers and wear light clothing as they also have a coat/jacket room to store your winter clothing.
The café area is spacious and the gift shop is pretty cool also.

Fantastic little getaway immersed with nature and beautiful creatures no matter what time of year! Slightly pricey but I feel it is worth it especially if you truly appreciate what a marvel nature is. I encourage everyone to take the time to learn about a butterfly's life cycle, have a seat and make a checklist of all the different varieties you see and ALWAYS share your experience!!! Get as many people on the butterfly train as we can! Please be mindful where you walk while in the sanctuary as many butterflies take their rest times on the ground
The Hamilton Family Theatre Cambridge is a contemporary venue that accommodates up to 500 people. It features state-of-the-art facilities and offers a variety of live performances, including musicals, plays, and live bands. The sound quality is exceptional, with live musicians and vocalists executing professional acts on stage. Additionally, the theater offers snacks and drinks during intermission which you can bring back to your seat for added convenience.
A lovely theatre. Easy to get there by car and lots of parking. Comfy seats and friendly staff. I recently spent a weekend as a backstage volunteer for a show that was renting the theater, as well as an audience member. Loved the experience from both sides of the stage. Staff were caring of the audience and enthusiastic and supportive of the performers.

It was wonderful watching the Jersey Boys. The staff were friendly and helpful as we had a bus load unloading all at once. I could watch the whole show as the seats are slanted, each row lower than the next one. The sound was sharp and clear. A bit of a wait for the washrooms but they were clean. The building is beautiful.

Facility is modern and well equipped. Seats were pretty comfortable, acoustics seem good, at least the sound seemed great. They permitted us to take intermission drinks back to our seats which was nice. The production we saw was live musicians and vocalists. The act was very professional and well executed. Great intimate venue to see a musical production, play or live band.

This was my first visit to the HFT. My children and I saw the Sound of Music which is a family favourite of ours. Great performances by all, especially Maria, the Captain and children. The group singing of the actresses playing nuns was especially moving as they sang so well together. The performance of Climb Every Mountain by the actress who played the Reverend Mother was especially wonderful. When she hit the high note at the end I got teary eyed. Intermission was a bit rushed due to washroom lineup. Lineup for refreshments was also long though we didn't partake. All seats in the theatre seem to have a good view of the stage. Theatre was clean. Staff were pleasant. Will definitely come again.

The show itself was excellent (kinky boots). The theater however was ice cold and you could feel A/C blowing on you. People had jackets on, many just froze. The rows of seating were so close together that average sized people could not get by each other. I'm 5'2 and had JUST enough room for my knees. They need to have ropes to organize the concession stand lines. There was a large line that divided the room in half, blocking access to the bathrooms for those on the opposite side.
Production was great.

Loved it ! Evita was absolutely flawless and a real delight to experience. We were in the balcony with a perfect view of the stage, dancing and wonderful singing from the lead actors and chorus. What a great adaptation of this play. Not even one mistake during the entire performance and not that we would likely notice anyway. Bravo to Drayton’s rendition of Evita !

Beautiful facility but freezing cold in the middle of winter (December 10 2023) Even the two larger woman and man I was with were cold. As 90 percent of the audience looked to be over the age of 75 I don’t know if they did this to keep
Them awake but this is also the age group that needs to stay warm in addition to smaller people like myself who are also anemic and suffer from circulation issues. Thankfully I carry heat packs with me.
Overall , fiddler on the roof was an amazing show !

We went to this fantastic venue for the opening night of Jersey Boys. Great place to see a great show. Not a bad seat in the house!
Bonch Loomans — Google review
The theatre itself is a center for this community. It is well maintained and clean. We saw a "modernized" version of Jersey Boys. Although the music and story stay true to the Era, I was put off by some of the 'modern street language' used in the dialog. Maybe I am getting older, but looking around the audience, there was 90% grey, silver, and white hair.
I do not understand why the language has been changed the way it has.

The Fashion History Museum is a charming institution dedicated to the history of fashion. It boasts an extensive collection of apparel, accessories, and archives that showcase the evolution of fashion through time. The museum's curator provides intriguing insights into the exhibits, making for an engaging experience. The 2019 exhibition Made in France was particularly captivating with its stunning display of clothes as wearable art.

May 6, 2023 Coronation Day of King Charles lll.
We had an appointment at the Fashion History Museum for the advertised Coronation White-Linen High Tea. WHAT A JOKE !!!. There was no white-linen anywhere.
I believe that who ever organized this has NO idea what a White-Linen High Tea consist of. Also what was advertised as the menu items had no resembles to what was served.
This is the VERY WORST so called White-Linen High Tea you could possible imagine.
First and foremost for a Coronation White-Linen High Tea celebration there was no Coronation themed decorations. If you do not intend to decorate for what you are advertising as a Coronation themed White-Linen High Tea then you should not promote it as a CORONATION HIGH TEA.
You should also learn how to serve tea and keep it hot for your customers! Every heard of a tea cozy ?
Traditional finger sandwiches, were not served. Instead a plate of thrown together thin sliced and sadly lacking (you will need a magnifying glass to find any fillings) so called sandwiches were served.
This was followed by a scone that was more like a bread roll, with no cream (only butter) and jam. Went we asked for the cream that was advertised we were told that the BUTTER on the table was the cream and told we did not know what the Devon Cream was like. RUDE I can assure you that I have had many, many High Teas and am very well aware what Devon Cream is and it is NOT ANYTHING LIKE THE BUTTER THAT WAS ON THE TABLE !
Then came the final DISAPPOINTMENT the sweets or what should have been the sweets totally inedible !!! A total disappointment and at a cost of $45.20 a total rip off !!!!
Maybe someone should at least research what a White-Linen High Tea is before advertising something that you have no ability to deliver !!!
Very Very Disappointing !!!!!!!

The staff was so friendly and it's nice to look at the items in their collection but very little information is actually given on the fashion items they display. Information like the type of cloth used, techniques developed, silhouette création, undergarments required, price points for the items on display (ie. Did they belong to wealthier people or common folk)... This info was not really shared. I wish there had been more information provided. The Cher collection was cool but also had very little info.
All in, not worth the ticket price to look at maybe 12 dresses (plus Cher's 5) and two suits with minimal info.

Had a short visit to Cambridge, surely worth visiting the beautiful old city, specially Grand river areas surrounded by Water st. on east, Main st. on south, George st. on West and Park Hill rd. on north.

Cambridge has done an amazing job of city refurbishment. The walk along the river with its many sitting spaces is just one of the really well designed areas. They have kept as much of the old architecture and combined it with brilliant new and well thought out spaces. The library will really impress you, not only the design but what is available there for public use. Take your kids. You won't regret it!

A beautiful spot along the river in downtown Cambridge. (Galt)
You can go right down to the river's edge!

Beautiful place. The environment is very calm and relaxing. It has a beautiful bridge, which is perfect for photography specially for wedding. It has lots of parking free spots. Thus is one of my favorite places.

This place in downtown Cambridge is very beautiful. It’s old Cambridge where you will see historical sites & get to read the history.
This place’s beauty is enhanced with Grand River flowing across church.
You can also see the river rapid & dam lookout on the other side of this park

Beautiful location for events by a picturesque river. If only you didn't have to worry about your safety or have to smell the various smells associated with the people who are living rough, of which there are many.

Based on the advice of Alltrails, a wonderful little hiking app, decided to try a more urban style walk along the river in downtown Galt. Had a nice time. Weather was beautiful for October. There were some picturesque locations by the river; in fact so picturesque that there were three different weddings all getting photos taken. There are a few great little independent coffee shops and cafes around, if you need emergency caffeine refreshment. Some limestone ruins, some interesting existing buildings.
Free parking along the road, with a two hour limit, which is plenty of time to amble along the paths. Easy, easy hike of course - all paved level trails.

It's a beautiful area to visit and see the Grand River... and then the Cambridge Mill across the Street. It would be lovely to see a theatre production in the little coliseum like sitting area in the park by the river. 👏🏻

Four Fathers Brewing Co. is a spacious taproom housed in a historic industrial building in Cambridge. The menu offers hearty burgers, desserts, and various craft beers to enjoy on-site or for take-out. Visitors can choose from a range of food options including bar snacks, sandwiches, and homemade kettle chips served generously with their meals. The brewery also features a 9-hole disc golf course for guests to enjoy and the rustic atmosphere adds to the overall experience.
This brewery is fantastic! Beautiful rustic atmosphere. Staff is very helpful & friendly. Sit in and take home options. They even have a 9 hole disc golf course!

Four Fathers is an amazing wedding venue! It's perfect for a couple looking for a less traditional but still gorgeous aesthetic. Very cool vibes, and the space can really be transformed into anything you want - more casual or upscale - depending on your flowers & decor. I've had the pleasure of shooting a number of weddings here and the team at Four Fathers is always polished, on top of the details, and really hospitable. Would highly recommend this as a venue for your wedding! ✨📸

Love this place! So spacious and such a chill vibe. We don't come often as we don't live very close but whenever we're in Cambridge we def come to visit! Love their selection for beers/coders and their beer cocktails are nice too! Also their apps/dishes are always good when we're feeling snack-y. Plus they're super kid friendly and welcoming to everyone!

Highly recommend! We are from Michigan and wanted something similar to one of our spots back home and this did not disappoint! All of the staff was very friendly and helpful! It was international women’s day so they created a special drink for it. I ended up going with the blueberry cider which was great! My husband got whiskey on the rocks. Family friendly atmosphere - lots of board games and a ping pong table.

Fantastic overall! Enjoyed a rou d of disc golf; then, we tool our favorites to the patio where they received two dishes of water. Our food was amazing with good vegetarian options. I had the beyond burger with sweet potato chips. The brews were amazing! I tried the Ukrainian dark since I am a stout girl. Overall, a great experience!

We visited Four Fathers for lunch on our way out of the city while celebrating my Mom's 60th, and the experience was great.
Service, staff, beer, and food were all 10/10. Our group ordered vegan chicken sandwiches, a cheeseburger, and a salad with chicken, and everything was delicious. The sour beer on draft at the time was also A+.
The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming to our Australian shephered, who enjoyed the experience on the patio as much as we did. Would definitely recommend it and would love to visit again.

I was excited to visit the brewery for dinner with the kids after coming from the butterfly conservatory. The place is buzzing and busy, especially when there are weddings going on (which are nice to see!). We got seated rather quickly and got our first round a few minutes later. However, it took another 15-20 minutes for our order to be taken (we were almost missed until I asked a server to take down our order as they were talking by). The music is loud and mostly country; it fits with the brewery. My review isn't higher because it took 1 hour and 5 minutes to get our food after our order was placed, but they only told us right before it was coming out that there was a mishap in the kitchen. I would've believed it had it not been for the tables around us to have received their orders far before we did, and they arrived far later than we did. So my assumption is that our order was lost or forgotten and nobody stopped by to check in. Once we received the food, the burgers were fine but the children's nacho plate isn't great (they didn't warm up the cheese on the side, and it was just shredded cheese from a bag), and the children's pizza tasted a bit off. We were hungry, so we ate anyway. They were nice enough to not charge for one of our beers due to the delay. I don't know if I'd go back. Maybe only for drinks.

Service was great. Their Terps beer was really well done, I loved it.
I ate the El Pollo Loco, and my god was it delicious. It wasn't heavy at all, and was really filling. It also came with a generous amount of kettle chips that I think are homemade?
My server was fantastic.

We had the IVO30 IPA and the peach candy sour. They both weren't great - not terrible, but a little bland.
They have a huge bike shed to store your bike in, with a full bike stand, tools, degreaser and lube.

Went to 4 Father's today after some suggestions from friends who live nearby and it was disappointment after disappointment unfortunately.
While the brewery itself is beautiful, the rest of our meal was nowhere as great. Our waitress seemed to forget about us, and what we ordered. I had to go up to the bar multiple times to ask for things and if I was supposed to order at the front because no waitress took our order. The prices were shockingly high for the small portions, very thin chicken and beef burgers. I ordered the torte, and both of us found it tasted off and couldn't stomach more than a single bite, but the waitress didn't take it off. $6 for a tiny slice that we didn't even eat a third of. When I paid the $70 bill (for only two people!), the waitress complained about the tip I left to another waitress at the bar, not knowing a friend of mine overheard her and told me.
Completely and utterly shocked that this place is completely opposite than what I've been told by friends.

Yesterday we ventured out and stumbled upon Four Fathers Brewery.
Awesome experience- it was packed with pickleball players, a bar on the court side and a cute restaurant filled with yummy eats to choose from & completed with epic customer service by Eric! He was hospitable, friendly, funny &
knowledgable about the menu
Even if you don't love craft beer they offer mixed drinks & wine & obviously non alcoholic as well.
Kid friendly & fun vibe.

Came to the Drag Bingo with Crystal Quartz event. We arrived early to enjoy dinner before the show. The food was on point, our waitress was fantastic. We ordered throughout the night and even though a show was going on there was no excessive wait. Crystal's performance to a packed house was amazing. Everyone seemed to be having a really great time, I know we did!! Hopefully we will see Crystal Quartz back at Four Father's in the near future. It was a great night out!!

Beer was great. Food was excellent. We both had a chicken sandwich. Done perfectly & we got a sample of a new dessert the chef is thinking of putting on menu. (Two big thumbs-up) Service was outstanding.
The venue is beautiful-love that they took an old building and restored it to something that shows its beauty.
If in the area highly recommend you check it out.

Myself and many friends from the Niagara Region entered the Pickleball tournament held on February 9,10 and 11th at Four Fathers. Between playing our rounds we visited the restaurant and were quite delighted with the atmosphere of the place. The food was good, but our waiter was excellent. I didn't get his name but he was a tall fellow with glasses. He engaged our table and participated in our banter about pickleball. I asked him to take a photo of our table and he gladly agreed. I am attaching the photo. Thanks Mr. Waiter man, you helped make our visit wonderful.
Shade's Mills Conservation Area is a vast park located near the City of Cambridge, offering various activities such as swimming, fishing, forested hiking trails, and winter activities like ice fishing. The park is an excellent place to relax and unwind with its serene lake and beautiful trails that are accessible for strollers or wheelchairs. Visitors can spend 3-4 hours enjoying the outdoors or more if they come with a group of people.
We go there to celebrate mine and our daughter's birthdays. It's halfway point for us. It's beautiful and our new tradition. We have a picnic, walk the trails, open presents. Enjoy our time together. We love it. We come in April

Nice and simple trails. The outer loop takes a decent amount of time to walk and it can get quite dark in there when the sun is setting. Love it for the convenient location. There is a $15.00 entrance fee when there is no attendant (Visa Debit does not work on the machine!), which is a little steep for just taking an hour long walk, but it makes sense for the beach.

Worth the weekday evening trip. There are two lots to access the beach from (the left parking lot is a shorter distance). The washrooms are usually clean. There are two volleyball courts, plenty of picnic tables and open space areas to play sports. The beach is long so there's usually open space to sit (weekends - arrive between 8-10am to get a good spot). There are also canoe/kayak/SUP rentals available. I bring my SUP and it's a great spot to paddle for an hour or so (somewhat of a small lake). A great spot to spend your summer days.

It is a Great place to visit. Nice and serene lake. Some good trails are out there. Also it is not very far away from the City of Cambridge. You can spend 3-4 hours very easily here and if you are coming with 2-3 families or a group of people, you can spend more time here. You can do BBQ here. There are benches all over the place. Washroom facility if provided. I believe it if open all year round but as summers in Canada makes these type of places more attractive.

I love this place. It’s beautiful, lush and green 😁. You’re surrounded by nature, you can play at the beach, swim and ride a boat on the river. You could also fish and kayak on the river.
There are lots of trails, looks like a very good spot for camping. You can come in with food and for non members you have to pay about 15dollars and it’s free for children below 5.
It was fun time, we came with a grill and made barbecue. There are no life guards at the water front, parents are responsible for watching their kids.
I would definitely love to visit again and soak it all in. I took long refreshing walks in the woods, swam and ate barbecue 😁. It felt like I was walking through a well tended jungle.

This hidden gem is tucked away in a busy Cambridge area. It feels like you are out in the middle of nowhere. It is so peaceful, serene, and full of walking trails. There are so many extras to fill a day, and you do not have to drive far. It is worth the trip. Bring the family, the dogs, and a picnic, and you are set.

This place sucked, not worth going if you're seeking a hike. It costs $7.75 per adult and the hiking trail has so many mosquitoes. It's absolutely unbearable. The beach with a lake has plenty of children and families so that one seems fine. Not much services and value to justify charging at all. The cost is probably just to pay for the attendants and guards of the borders! Absolute waste of cash. You can see the gate in the picture where they are collecting money. Additionally you need to park your car and get out to pay, they don't come to you.
Churchill Park is an urban green space that offers a variety of recreational activities for families to enjoy. The park features ball fields, hiking trails, and opportunities to observe wildlife. Additionally, there are facilities for basketball, skateboarding, and a splash pad for children to cool off on hot days. A notable feature of the park is the Water Wheel located near the main entrance pond area which was designed by Uncle Wayne La Croix and installed by a Southwood High School Class years ago.
My favorite place to visit daily 💕 my uncle Wayne La Croix (godfather)helped design make the Water Wheel that sits near hwy24 main Entrance ways pond. It was a Southwood High School Class that worked on and put it there and it remains there to this day. It no longer works but it is still there. It's what I cherish most. He died when I was only 2 years old, so it means just a little bit more to me for that reason. 🤗

Used to bring the kids here when they were small, dating back 20 years ago or more. The park has not changed much but remains a good place for smaller children or just to go for a hike!
We decided to go for a little hike here on this beautiful day and found that the pond is still a great place to watch ducks - these ducks are very domesticated… lol, they will follow you around endlessly if they think you have food for them - which we didn’t... Despite the many signs stating NOT to feed animals, they are not afraid to come within a foot of you for a chance to get the first crumbs being handed out.
There are also a lot of geese here - which, sadly, makes it a challenge to step anywhere without stepping in poop…
There are washrooms which were still open this time of year. They were pretty clean which was much appreciated!
There are a number of paths that come and go through this park - you can walk for some time without leaving the park boundaries.
Worth the visit but remember to watch your step!!

I grew up in G-town Cambridge so it's always a part of me. Churchill park along with Grand River trails alongside was my playground growing up. I'm a little disappointed the Peacocks are gone along with the Deer that use to reside in the back of the park where they kept the animals for kids viewing and to visit, now it's just home to Ducks and Geese along the Ponds and walks ways. The Park Splash Pads, family picnics areas or just sit on the benches to soak in the view if your out for a stroll through this park which is built with trails that you can continue through across the street onto the Brant trailways. Soccer field past the playground areas, Baseball diamond up top behind the washroom areas open for public use in the summer months. The city of Cambridge can update and clean this park up a bit more as it's a beautiful place to enjoy with your family, the rocket playground has been there since I was a lil girl still a popular hit among the kids with an updated play area for the younger todlers, great place to spend with the family all around which brings back old childhood memories.

This is not an easy review to write. Six years ago, this park was great - so fresh and clean with so many hidden treasures.
2023, it is rusty, worn out, and dirty. The spaceship park is in horrible shape. There is a bridge with no platform to walk on. The old animal pen dismantled and left as a weird unused space. Run down batting cage and diamonds.
There has been no thought put into what could potentially be a great park. It could be beautiful, but it seems more like an afterthought for the city now.

Really enjoy this park. Great space for walks, small but really nice splash pad, 2 playgrounds including the old school Rocketship and a really nice little kid area with soft ground, baseball diamonds and more. Washrooms are a good size and clean. Picnic tables and close to Indulge ice cream caboose!!
Did a quick drive by heading south and stopped in for a quick pint. Had a great chat with the bar keep and learned a little bit of the buildings history. Did you know they made knives here? The old belt pulley system that drove the machinery was still in place, complete with the grease stained wood! Very cool re-purposed building! Good job guys.....now get busy re-branding and get some mercy out there 😂.

I went into Grand River Brewing yesterday for the first time. I have had their beer before, but never been inside their location. I had a wonderful experience! The tall gentleman was really friendly and had great recommendations!! I was even able to sample a little before buying a couple of cans. Inside was beautiful! I wanted to stay and read a book and drink beer all day, but I had to go home to do some stuff. I will definitely be returning! They also have event nights like beer club and beer & yoga on Wednesdays during each month. I am looking forward to trying one of these events!!!!
Edit:
Went tonight for the first time in the pub. The bar tenders were super friendly!! They let us try the beer before we decided which beer to have! It was great! Will try to do beer yoga tomorrow!! 🍻🍻

Great craft beer on the site of a former knife factory. Some original factory equipment is on display and lots of space. A pool table "on loan" from an employee is open to play.
As for the beers, there is something for everyone. Lager, Ale, Red ale, stout, IPA and more!! The staff was happy to share the stories behind the names of the beers and the building background. Definitely worth a stop to try some craft beer and bring some home in cans or growlers.
I would have given 5 stars but so many flies!! I had to put coasters over my flight to keep them away. Hopefully they get that under control!

This was the first stop on a brewery tour I had with friends and family.
Firstly there is next to no parking, just a mud patch that holds a few cars and we got boxed in so I had to drive across the mud/lawn and down the curb to get out.
Upon arriving in what looks like a small store front the guy just looks at us and says "so, what do you want", never being here before we didn't know anything about the place but he just says "well bars through there".
We then proceeded to wait at the bar for about 15 minutes because he saw someone he knew. Then another 10 for him to change the keg which was no big deal.
The interior is very cool, very old looking building with old machinery and a pool table and shuffle board. Free snacks laid out as well.
We ordered some flights so we could sample the beer before ordering pints. The flights came in plastic cups with no explanation as to what kinds they were and he shrug us off when we asked what kinds they were. We tried them all and then just left on to the next place. Very bad service soured me on this place almost immediately, which is unfortunate because the beer was good and the place looked great.

McDougall Cottage, a charming Scottish residence dating back to 1858, offers visitors a glimpse into the past. Surrounded by picturesque English gardens, this well-preserved cottage is open for public viewing during specific periods throughout the year. Immerse yourself in Scottish culture through events like Tartan Tea, featuring various themed celebrations rooted in Scotland. This volunteer-run establishment showcases restored painted ceilings and occasionally hosts local musicians playing traditional Scottish tunes (not exclusively bagpipes).
Hosted a baby shower for a friend here and had a great experience! Such a cute venue that requires very few extra decorations or work for the host!

Beautiful historic Scottish cottage from 1858. English gardens surround the cottage, which is open for public viewing during certain times of the year.
Tartan Tea occurs several times throughout the year (various themes, I believe all are Scottish based).
The cottage is also open for general viewing, with restored ceiling friezes (painted ceilings).
I believe it's volunteer run, so be kind when you visit! Also, they will sometimes have local musicians in playing traditional Scottish music (no, not always bagpipes!).

The Mill Run Trail is a popular hiking route that has been frequented by many people. It is a fantastic and relatively level path that provides a superb vantage point of the river. Commencing in Hesepler, one will traverse approximately 3 km of gravel until arriving at a bridge, which grants access to an expansive Boardwalk section. There are several road crossings along the way, although these lack proper pedestrian crossings, so caution must be exercised while crossing them.
How often do you get to walk on the retired railway tracks with a beautiful view of water and forest around you? It's a unique, spectacular view.

I have walked this trail dozens of times. It’s an excellent, relatively flat trail that offers you a great view of the river. Starting in hesepler, you’ll walk along gravel for about 3 km before hitting a bridge, which leads into a large Boardwalk area. The trail crosses a few roads, which don’t really have proper crosswalks. Stay alert when walking across the roads. There is plenty of parking and multiple lots along the trail.

A very beautiful place for a day or evening walk. There is a decent amount of parking available with the trail starting just off the parking lot. Lots of wildlife to see and alot of fish bitting at your bait. With the waterfall at Jacobs landing nearby this is a great place to visit right in the middle of the city.

Walked this lovely trail with my wife today in about an hour (from Russ St to Sheffield Parking lot). Listed as 7.5km, but I think you have to hike further past Sheffield toward Black Bridge to get the full length. The trail is very will maintained and clean with many different wetlands. Great for beginners. Two street crossings: one at Speedsville (very busy) and a jog up Beaverdale to cross over to the other section of the trail that lies on the North side of the river (not busy). We saw lots of little beasties, including turtles, damsel flies, ducks, geese and a loud heron.

It's a lovely trail for walking, running, cycling, snowshoeing or cross-country skiing - virtually flat and mostly well-groomed, with only a few roots and rocks to catch a toe. The footbridge near the Hespeler end is one of the prettiest places in town, and you can catch amazing sunsets over the Speed River from various points on the trail.

Cambridge Ice Centre is a fantastic local spot for skating, offering affordable open skating sessions on the weekends for just $5. This unique and convenient facility, located inside a mall, also provides skate rentals and sharpening services. However, it tends to get busy, so arriving early is recommended. Additionally, the arena offers skating lessons for those interested in honing their skills. Alongside public skating sessions on Sundays, visitors can enjoy watching hockey games with their children while grabbing a bite to eat.

Please either put updated cancellation info on landing page or put a note to 'Always Check Cancellations'. We were one family of at least 5 that we saw. Bad communication.

good facility, but lousy staff. it's inconvenient that you have to go there to sign up for shinny hockey prior to the actual date, instead of being able to sign up and pay online.
not only that, but people who didn't sign up were given my spot because i was 20 minutes late (for a 2 hour shinny session).
Rhythm And Brews Brewing Company is a charming brewery and concert venue with an intimate ambiance. It exudes a welcoming atmosphere, making it perfect for dropping in and enjoying a selection of twelve draft beers or cocktails. The establishment offers ample parking space upfront, and although menus were not observed, patrons can order pizza delivery to enjoy at the spacious communal tables. The overall vibe is relaxed, enticing visitors to subscribe to their program and return for more rock performances.
LOVEd our time here. Actually enjoyed a couple hours trying the brews, playing games, & listening to live music. I was super pleased with all their kettle sours & for those who tried the stout, they said it was top notch. The brew with maple was a stand out too! Very clean & very open. The overall atmosphere & experience made for a lovely Sunday afternoon with friends & family. Check it out! Super easy to get too & plenty of parking / seating.

Nice brewery and a concert venue, intimate atmosphere, feels like a place where you can drop by, have a choice between a dozen beers on tap or a cocktail. There's plenty of parking out front.
I didn't see any menus, but there was a group that ordered a pizza delivery and they had it at one of the large tables. Pretty relaxed.
I think I'll subscribe to their program, we would like to come back again and watch more rock bands. Tonight was a "Women of Rock" show with three bands and we had a blast.

Great quality stout beers. Tried all the stouts they had on the day we visited. Cool place to hangout. Nice people and crowd on a Friday night were cool. They have bands every Friday.
Will definitely come back and buy some of their beers to try

First time at this establishment and all I can say is all 6 of us had a fantastic time!. Beer was great (we liked Spotlight), cocktails were so good....love ice ice baby. And the live bands were awesome. New to Cambridge and I think we just found our new favourite spot for a night out. Thanks so much for a great time out with friends especially after the last few years we all had. Looking forward to returning. :)

Oh my goodness I am not even sure if there are enough stars available for them.
If you are looking for the most amazing burger and fries with some amazing beer, look no further than Rhythm and Brews and The Wandering Cajun.
Their new chef is knocking it outta the park.
Cnt wait to come back and try the chicken sandwich.

On July 23 2022 I had a beer, and leaned out on the patio, and it tasted excellent. Also I saw the classic power trio The Blue-Wave Sound play a rad outdoor set!!

Great layout. Nice selection of drinks and not only craft beers, but cocktails as well. The smoked duck tacos and smash burger were unbelievably good. As an added bonus they have a separate room for live music. We need more places like this!

Wesley, the brew master is a knowledgeable and friendly guy. He answered all my questions and we had a great discussion.
I had a flight and every beer was enjoyable, even the Pickleback! Not quite my thing but props to brewing a truly unique experience! A great craft brewery.

From the name, I thought this was a pub. But they brew their own beers, and some very good ones at that! The Berry Superstitious was delicious! They also have a white stout that was extremely unique as a flavor. The bartender was very friendly. I would definitely visit this place again next time I'm in town. They didn't have live music while I was there, but I'm told they have local bands playing often.

Great micro brewery with a cool rock theme atmosphere. Vast selection and styles of beers. Flights are a great tasting option and they are served on a vinyl.
The Bob McMullen Linear Trail in Cambridge is a highly enjoyable hiking area that offers a beautiful natural environment for walks. It provides a serene setting with opportunities to walk your dog or go biking. This trail, which stretches alongside the river, is renowned for its calming atmosphere created by the soothing sound of flowing water and the sweet melodies of birds. The trail's length makes it an excellent choice for those who appreciate undisturbed nature.
Definitely a great photo ops for any skill level to have peaceful fun with photography

Cambridge trail - very nice. Today I have visited for the first time. It is nice for walks in nature. Walk your dog or bike. If you like nature the way it is - here is the place. The trail is long and it goes along the river. It is so relaxing hearing the water flow and the birds. I can’t wait for summer or fall when the look of the trail will be very different. Today was a sunny day therefore was a pleasure to be here and enjoy life.

This is an in/out trail totals about 6.3km total. It's relatively flat and follows the Speed River. When you come to a split in the trail, take the Less travelled, narrower trail... it's much more scenic.
Gary Ferris — Google review
It's nice. It follows the river for majority of the trail. Pop you out near riverside park if I recall correctly. There are some off shoot paths that wind out further but are not a maintained path and use at your own risk. They can fairly fun to explore.

First time walking here. Pretty nice. Surprised how clean it was. When we walk at other cambridge parks we pick up at least 4 bags worth (sometimes more) of garbage that people have carelessly strewn about.😓😣 Will definitely return here soon. A great trail for hiding painted rocks too!!

My husband and I love walking on this trail. It is about 2.5km from the start to finish so its perfect for a 5k run if you go to the end and back. About halfway down the trail there is an amazing lookout over the river. There are lots of benches to sit on to enjoy the view! I love watching the geese and ducks land on the water!

Great trail for a light hike or walk .... started from Bishop Street parking lot and walked over 3km .. can stay on gravel or dirt trail, we took the dirt trail as it runs along the river and is quieter... lots of walkers, dogs and some bikers as well... moderately busy.. the kids loved seeing the chickens and sheep as we ended our walk behind the Growing Hope Farm.

A nice picturesque trail to hike or cycle or jog or walk the dog. There is exercise stops along the trail. *caution: steep hill at the Bishop entrance
SmartCentres Cambridge is a great place for family entertainment, featuring an ice rink and a recently added Kingpin section. However, the lack of public attractions outside of the holiday seasons, such as Santa and the ice rink, might leave some visitors wanting more. Staples offers excellent customer service from knowledgeable staff members who assist with finding the exact products needed. Walmart provides a pleasant shopping experience with friendly cashiers.
This is a picture of the Banana Republic outlet store in Cambridge. The staff and manager are often helpful, polite, and make great suggestions for all shapes and sizes of individuals. Best of all the store is well organized and clean. Love it!

Good excuse to get out of the house but ofcourse high traffic means higher prices. Great place for family fun though including the ice rink and recently added Kingpin section which are both great ways to get out.
Only 4 stars cause there's no real public attraction except for Santa during the holiday seasons and as mentioned the ice rink in the past.

Stopped in at Staples and was met with instant service by a fine knowledgeable young man who provided me with the exact product I needed and some friendly chat at the cashier. Over at Walmart’s I found all that I needed and was greeted nicely by the young woman at the cashier. Very productive duck in and duck out.

An okay mall. Hudson Bay here have an acceptable stocks of clothing. The washroom can be a bit difficult to find. Huge huge huge parking lot, almost oversize for the amount of patrons here. You can easily practice driving at their parking lot. Food court isn't impressive. Ice rink was replaced by Kart.

During March Break, I visited Galt Arena Gardens with my kids for a free skate. The rink was not crowded as there was ample space available. The skating session took place from 12-2 and around 1:30, many people had already left. There was background music playing throughout the session and the rink was resurfaced at least once. It proved to be a fantastic opportunity for exercise and a delightful family activity.
Oldest functional arena in the world! What can I say, this place is awesome. Helps that our team won the Hespeler Olympics tournament in this barn as well.

Went to free skate with the kids during March Break. Rink did not seem to be at capacity as there was lots of room. Skate went from 12-2 and by 1:30 many people had left the building. Music was played and they resurfaced the rink at least once during the skate time. It was great exercise and am enjoyable family activity.

Me and my kids go to the free skate on Thursdays. The rink is clean and the ice is nice. It can be busy and lots of teeny boppers but that's no fault of the rink. Just have to take it upon myself to keep my little guys away from them (swearing etc)

Old barn with an incredible nostalgic feel. Gordie Howe "Mr.Hockey" actually skated here prior to making his mark within the NHL. An overhead score clock situated above centre ice adds to the feel of an NHL rink. Dressing rooms are small, but clean. Concession stand sells common rink food.

It’s not so historic any longer. It still sports the original facade, but that’s where the history ends. Take the short drive to Stratford to the William Allman Memorial Arena and you’ll see what the Galt Arena Gardens used to look like. History is preserved there.

Dumfries Conservation Area is a 75-hectare park featuring preserved plantation forests, mature forests, wetlands and various walking trails. I came here for the first time & instantly was loving the park every step I took in. I felt like there were many moments where I stopped & wondered hmm which way should I go, ready to see more beauty. In & out of cute little portals hehe. I loved it & the cute water spots all in between! The people I met along the way were nice & helpful - yet it was peaceful & many moments walking alone, where you felt you were the only one in the park! Sweet spot for sure.☆

Good trails, nice and flat for the most part with a few rooty areas. Homeless encampments in a few areas restrict our family exploration but otherwise its a good area with lots of options. Dog poo on the edge of the main trails is a bit of a problem so watch your step!
Also, stop picking up your dogs poo if your just going to throw the poop bag into the forest! You're better off grabbing a stick a flinging it off the trail then sealing it in plastic.

I'm so glad we took a chance on this trail. I've driven past it for YEARS and thought it was a golf course.🤣🤦♀️ It's actually a very large chunk of glorious nature, right in the middle of town. Thank you to Percy Hilborn, who donated the land for all seeking solace. Let's hope it stays this forever (& not be destroyed like everything else to build freaking condos).😫😓

Bring along bug spray. The mosquitoes were ferocious during my June hike even during mid afternoon. 75 hectares of nature reserve with a huge picnic grassy meadow and many trails through a beautiful forest and marshlands around the ponds. Along the hike there are beautiful wildflowers, blooming shrubs and deciduous and evergreen trees as well as an abundance of songbirds. Really vast nature reserve with an amazing history. Percy R. Hilborn widely known as
PR, was born in Berlin, Ontario in 1886 and died in Preston in 1972.
Throughout his long life he was a successful businessman and industrialist. He became Charter President of the Preston Hespeler Rotary Club in 1927, was a Founding Board Member of the University of Waterloo, and earned a Silver Acorn for his support of Scouting.
PR started to preserve farmland as early as 1916 when, with Laurie Barrett, he purchased the
Spottiswood farm on the outskirts of Preston. In 1948 he bought out his friend's interest, envisioning a wildlife and wilderness Park. He purchased the adjacent Dyck farm in 1953, part of the Ciuciura farm in 1955 and the McAllister farm in 1967.
On this property he planted thousands of evergreens,
constructed two ponds and plowed the upper pond for public skating in winter.
In 1967 PR donated this parcel, now totaling 70 ha, to the province of Ontario with the provisos that it be allowed to remain wild and be used for passive recreation. In 1970 with PR's permission, the province transferred Dumfries Park to the Grand River Conservation Authority to carry out his wishes.

A small conservation area with trails that are great for walking the dog. A small parking lot which is usually not too full. It could be a great place for a family picnic. Nothing special, just a nice green space with some short trails, a couple of fields and a few picnic tables. I really like the new walking/cycling path that runs along side the park on Dunbar Rd.

The best country farm market store around! The employees are always so friendly and helpful, and they are 100% transparent about disclosing information about their food/meat quality (how it was raised, etc.)

We’ve ordered 1/4 cow from Oakridge Acres and were very pleased, we are placing another order soon. the quality and variety of cuts was amazing! The price was reasonable for local, grass-fed beef. It was $1,000 and lasted 8 months for the two of us but we also do a lot of entertaining. I think I can get another month out of it this next time around knowing now to select all cuts and all of the extras to stretch it out. Great service and ordering experience!

Also, the absolute beautiful property is a wonderful escape. Green, rolling hills with animals running around. We love going.
