This brewery is known for serving delicious beer and good food. Some Reddit users say they eat there every day and the pizza is really good. They also have options for non-alcoholic drinks and they're always friendly.
Have stopped here a few times over the last few years on the way to/from Tofino and never been disappointed! They have the best pizza!

Had a nice lunch here on the way to Ucluelet. Pizza was tasty. Crust was chewy and fresh. I enjoyed one of their nonalcoholic beverages that was quite nice. Our group enjoyed themselves and the friendly staff. Bonus, they have mix and match tall cans to go!

Great place to taste the local craft breeding and outstanding culinary pizza scene. Pizza was spectacular. At first when you look at the pizza , you feel it might be a disappointment but when you taste it it all goes out the window. Easily one of the best tasting pizza I have ever had!

This is our second time here, and it was even better! We went for a drive just to get away, and decided to grab lunch here with our daughter. It was amazing! We had the Maui Waui pizza and the Jalapeno one (I can't remember the name). SO good! The crust was crispy, yet stretchy at the same time, not at all doughy or greasy! Very fresh ingredients, and the pineapple and balsamic reduction perfectly balanced out the saltiness of the prosciutto! I honestly think that this may very well be consistently the best pizza I have tasted on Vancouver Island! My husband loved the beer he had as well, enough to buy some to take for home!
Service was very friendly and prompt, and the restaurant and washrooms very clean!
I am glad we stopped in, and we will definitely be back again!
Update: January 2023. Back again! Everything was spectacular once again, consistent quality!

It’s really nice to have a meal that doesn’t cost a fortune but still gives you the ‘food as art’ experience. The Adoring Carnivore pizza found the perfect balance of meatness without excess, leveraging a robust pepperoni. The Bulgogi Brisket lettuce wraps brought forward a combination of flavours and textures that, after all these years and all these meals, I had not yet experienced. What a treat! And the beers? All have the small business owner uniqueness to them that no mass producer of ale has yet been able to capture. Twin City is a gem. Try it!

Very cool spot, great menu options and the beer is overall quite great. But I don't recommend visiting if you have any other plans that day -- the service is incredibly slow. I find the staff all very pleasant and (mostly) friendly, but without exaggeration you'll be waiting 15-20 minutes for your beer to arrive at the table.... after visiting a handful of times, I truly don't understand how it's possible to be this slow or what is causing it.
Also, the small pizzas (which are rectangular flatbread style) are very dry and 1/3 crust, but the full sized round pizzas are great.

Finally got here, the long drive was certainly worth it. Their beer was fantastic, love their use of Citra hops. Service was top notch and the food was very good. Worth visiting if you are in the area and absolutely worth the journey if you are not. I'll definitely be back. Highly recommend.

Twin City Brewing is an exceptional spot for beer lovers and food enthusiasts alike. The beer selection here is nothing short of spectacular, offering a range of flavors that cater to different tastes and preferences. Each brew is crafted to perfection, making it a must-visit for anyone who appreciates good beer.
What really sets this brewery apart is their pizza. It's epic, combining unique toppings with a perfect crust, creating a mouth-watering experience. Pairing their excellent beers with a slice of their pizza is an absolute delight.
The service at Twin City Brewing is also commendable. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and contribute greatly to the overall positive atmosphere of the place.
One thing to note is that wait times can be longer, especially if you don't time your visit correctly. It's a popular spot, so planning ahead or being prepared for a bit of a wait during peak hours is advisable.
Overall, Twin City Brewing is a standout establishment for its quality beer, incredible pizza, and great service. It's a place that's well worth the visit (and possibly the wait)!

Twin City Brewing is a locals hang out that nicely sums up the Port Alberni experience. Meticulously hand crafted beers that please the pallet paired with equally amazing pizza. The flavours are stupendous! 😋
Bright cheery atmosphere, very friendly, not to noisy (at least on a Tuesday evening).
If your not sure what to get try a couple different ones, they are all tasty in their own right.

Stopped in to sample the beers and have lunch. They have fabulous brews and a warm inviting atmosphere. Lunch was delicious and made Vegan for us. The Thai salad was amazingly good, featured soup was good and hummus was amazing as well. Highly recommend if you’re looking for beers and a Vegan lunch.

Harbour Quay is a tourist destination with an array of shops and cafes surrounding a playground and fountain at the center. The area provides an excellent opportunity to get out of the house and enjoy beautiful scenery while taking a stroll along the water or simply sitting down to relax in peaceful surroundings. There are various good restaurants in the vicinity, making it a great place for food enthusiasts. Families with kids can find entertainment at the park and enjoy ice cream treats.
Beautiful area, nice and quite, have a nice walk along the water or sit down to relax and take in the peaceful surroundings!

I really like the Harbour Quay. It's fairly close to home, and a really nice place to go to sit and loot at the ocean. There are more than a few restaurants and other things to see and do. As the city starts developing the Quay further, it'll get even nicer.

This area is perhaps one of the most scenic views in all of Port Alberni. There are plenty of places to eat and try local treats if you come during the right time.
Saturday's during the summer, there is a farmers market, occasionally live music and dancing in the streets.
Great views down the channel, too. Got time for a day tour? Take the Barkley down the channel and enjoy the view. Last December, our family saw whales spouting in the distance and sea lions lounging on the shore and traipsed around Bamfield. There's just so much to explore.
The Songhees (moved to different dock for winter), also parks on the water, its a floating B&B you can rent for the evening. They serve chef quality, locally sourced fare. You can find more about them on YouTube if you're so inclined.

We visited family this past week and this little spot was just gorgeous. Amazing views, a little shopping, nice playground for my kiddo. There's even a little free library! The Donut Shop is legit!! So yummy! And the walk up the tower was a lot easier than I expected! Plus totally worth the photo ops!!

They don’t make the donuts hot. They give you the premade mini orbit donuts. $7 for 12. They take American money at the same rate. Your loss. Same as coffee shop next door. Flavors are cinnamon sugar and strawberry sugar

Nice comfortable walk. Good food all around, from fish & chips to Mexican to ice cream. Beautiful view of the harbour. Check out Flying Bulldog Sailing School.
I hope they get all the funding they deserve. These men are doing a great service to everyone on the island by trying to keep these old beauties alive and running. Everyone should take a look and see the kind of work they're doing

Closed last 2-3 years. The train boiler needs repair. We were disappointed 6/2023.
Very interesting history explained by very interested staff member. Afterward we were free to wander through and around buildings learning more. Close to hiking trails so complete your visit by walking along the Logging Train Trail or connect to another trail going up or along the Beaufort Range.

Take a trip back in time. Meander through the property taking in buildings, old vehicles, a gift shop, and music in the summer. Afterwards, take a hike up the mountain and take in the sites.

We visited in the off season while raining which might account for the lower stars. It was really interesting but it would benefit from more signage and maps being available in the winter season. Overall I had a good time and want to return during the summer to experience it during its peak season.

Brilliant! We stayed here in our RVs for a couple of days. We were made to feel so welcome!
So much to see and explore and also looked at the salmon hatchery, which is on the site.
Would love to go back!

Surprisingly interesting old sawmill. We were there before the summer season started, but it looks like they might have demos of part of the sawmill. Tickets aren't required, but a donation is suggested. Definitely worth stopping at, even to wander around when none of the other stuff if running.

Absolutely beautiful in the fall! Saw some river offers in the logging pond. Lots of trails to walk around, educational plaques everywhere. The site is right in the middle of a forest with the mountain in the backdrop. Very interesting for those interested in history. Highly recommend!
Free admission for self guided tour, trails are open and can see almost everything. Went on Wednesday in October and it was pretty much completely empty. Not staffed during the week, meaning the bathrooms and gift shop are closed. They are only open Saturdays and Sundays. Lots of parking available. Many picnic tables.

Gorgeous. Having the prep area right next to the hall was a bit disruptive during parts of our seminar. Breakfast, lunch and snacks were good. Buffet was kept refreshed. The grounds were amazing. It was raining so a collection of umbrellas were provided so we could wander comfortably. Wonderful peaceful historical grounds. I imagine it would host beautiful weddings:)

Lovely place! Very instructive and fascinating for those who don't know much of the wood industry of last century. People there are very kind and you can feel their passion. The site is very well organized, well equiped and clean. Trails are very pleasant and both kids and parents can enjoy the site as it is well secured yet quite authentic.

Took the train to the McLean Mill today. It was great to travel by train and see the only working Steam Donkey in North America. A very interesting walk through our history.

Free admission, which was great. Front gate staff wasn't super helpful or informative. What was helpful and informative was happening upon a volunteer named David who was a wealth of knowledge information and willingness to spend time giving us an impromptu tour. Learned so much in a short amount of time we had there. Hoping the McLean Mill will reinstill the tours. The gift shop closed early but when you have some few and far between visitors, perhaps staying open would be nice. Overall a good visit and will make more time for it next time.
Ap much knowledge and history, be sure to open all drawer exhibits too. Staff are awesome.

I love this stuff and really enjoyed sharing this experience with my kids. My kids are very curious about First Nation culture and history and the had so many questions about the display pieces that I could quickly look up in the binders available in front of each exhibit. My youngest wants to do his next birthday here because they have some really cool sounding activities for groups with kids.
Be advised that the do like bigger groups to retested in advance.

Interesting back In time experience. They have the info on their exhibits but we found it difficult to locate the info in their catalogue system -old school and unfamiliar system. Entry is donation and definitely worth a visit. Make for the library it's in the same building.

AVM is a top notch local museum. They have really great collections of local artifacts telling of the rich and diverse history of the Alberni Valley. I especially liked the ugly dolls - they can be forgiven since they were made by an elderly blind man. There's a lot more and it's definitely worth checking out!

Great gift shop. Gazebo area. When I was there they were setting up for an event in the garden. Looks like a kitchen area was on the ground level to the event.

Unfortunately all the vendors always take up parking on the whole block and in alley in our residential area. I really wish this business had thier own business parking or encouraged their vendors to park elsewhere in the back parking lot of the school. It's frustrating when you have to park two blocks away from your own home and are afraid to leave and come back in case you have to pack 10 bags of groceries or your propane bottle down the block back to your house.

Attended a Celebration of Life in the courtyard garden here. It's lovely.
We dropped in on Gordon’s gallery unannounced yesterday and were blown away by the quality of his work, and his openness and friendliness as a host despite the fact that we weren’t there to purchase. His art is simply stunning and we thank him for his generosity in sharing some Vancouver Island west coast indigenous culture with us.

This Native Gallery is well worth a visit. The Gallery owner and artist Gordon Dick, was very helpful and it was interesting viewing and discussing his work in progress as well as completed pieces, he is a talented carver. He also represents a number of other quality artists. On the day we visited there was a guest artist working on a totem pole in the carving shed.

We hired Mike for a 1/2 day charter, late August. He took my wife and I and our 3 children out. He knew the best fishing spots. We got 2 big salmon and managed to get a bunch on the line. It was an awesome experience. Mike was very knowledgeable. He took the time to answer our questions. Fantastic guide. I would highly recommend him.

It's impressive to discover a diverse range of regional Island Wines at Chase & Warren in Port Alberni, an unexpected location. While exploring around ten wineries during their trip, this particular establishment stood out due to their exceptional tasting experience. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and approachable, providing valuable insights about the wines. Additionally, customers had the opportunity to enjoy a private wine tasting last year where they were able to select a splendid local wine, which was greatly appreciated.
Nice to see a good selection of local Island Wines, and in Port Alberni of all places.
We toured 10 or so wineries on this trip, but Chase & Warren stood out for the great tasting. Very informative, down-to-earth.

Drove out to the property, followed the provincial wine route signs, drove through the open gate, only to find a nicely-drawn sign that says "winery closed". Disappointing.
Another nearby winery confirmed that they just up and closed, no real reason given. Though they think the owner wanted to retire.
I get that you want to retire. That's fine. At least do people the courtesy of updating your website. It still says you're open daily. And notify the province to take down the wine route signs.
