Punakea Palms is a farm that specializes in growing coconuts and sugar cane. The farm offers guided tours for visitors to learn about the cultivation of coconuts, taste them at different stages of growth, and see how they are handled using proper tools. Kai, the guide, does an excellent job in educating visitors about coconut farming techniques. Additionally, the farm has a juice stand where you can purchase freshly squeezed sugar cane juice and coconuts.
What a wonderful farm! If you're looking for fresh coconuts and/or sugar cane juice, this is THE place to go! The service here is phenomenal! We didn't book a tour because we didn't know about it, but the juice stand is open to the public. Will definitely return for the tour!

Our tour of the farm was delightful and a favorite experience on island! The property is gorgeous. The owner, Kai, was very gracious when we had a family emergency and had to alter our reservation. Our guide, Emma, was so knowledgeable, friendly and was amazing with children! We loved touring the farm, the tasting, and simply watching Emma's amazing machete skills in opening all of the coconuts. We purchased some fresh coconut milk from the cafe (so delicious!) and a variety of really neat stuff from the gift shop. This is a must if you enjoy coconuts, and is also great for the entire family!

This was probably our favorite activity of the whole week on Maui. Jeremy, our tour guide, was amazing! It was fascinating to learn about the entire growing process and life cycle of coconuts. The tour was interactive, and we had all of our questions answered. Oh, and getting to taste coconut water and the meat at various stages was so cool too. I can't say enough good things about our experience there. Book a tour now!

A tour of Punakea Palms was recommended by a coworker that had recently traveled to Maui. She said that the tour far exceeded her expectations and turned out to be her favorite excursion of the trip. I have to agree that this tour was one of the highlights of our trip as well. Our guide was friendly and informative. The views from the property were simply stunning, as was the property itself. We learned so much from listening to our guide but also from tasting the fruit and the water it holds inside throughout the various stages of the coconut lifecycle. We ordered a coffee and a tea from the little bar on the property before leaving and both were delicious. I have never had a tea like that before. They added coconut milk to mine making it almost like a Thai iced tea. So delightful. If you have a chance to visit this place, definitely do.

If you care to learn about coconuts, their role in the tropical life and support a farmer who dedicated his life to growing them, you must go to see his farm! You will learn a lot while tasting coconuts at their different stages of growth. Kai did an excellent job of showing how to handle a coconut and which tools are the best for it. We will definitely try to make coconut milk at home! Amazing tour, beautiful grounds, must see in Maui!

We had an amazing time on our tour! The tour was 1.5 hours long and was very informative and engaging the whole time. We loved seeing all the different things they’re growing there and the beautiful views of the ocean. At the end we got to see three different stages of coconut growth and our tour guide broke them open and we got to taste them which was really cool.

Great set up here, you can tell they take a great amount of pride in what they do. We did not do the farm tour, but that is what they’re known for (last one happens at 11am).
We ended up making this a stop as we were searching for fresh, local coconut water and they did not disappoint. Lots of fun merch and the staff is super-duper friendly. Lots of parking, it was very hot/windy when we visited and this was a perfect spot to seek some shelter.

Definitely a very interesting tour! Our guide was very knowledgeable and happy to answer All your questions. We learned about coconuts (obviously), Maui and Hawaii as well. The tour has a very nice lookout place for taking pictures. We got to try three different stages of coconut water (and meat if applicable). Learned so much about picking coconuts and also how to make coconut milk. Anxious to try! Overall experience was very good. Highly recommend!
And we went back the next day to get their coconut milk (fresh made daily) iced coffee. That was good stuff! Their coconut is $6 each, cheapest I ever saw. And these are very fresh, obviously. I got one that was exactly how old I wanted it to be (using knowledge I got from the tour). Amazing!

It’s obvious from the beauty of this place, that much love and intention was put into the creation of the farm. Peaceful property with a palm-shaded cafe serving fresh coconuts and house-made coconut milk. Maui Coconut Farm Tour & Coconut Tastings led by the owner and local experts provide a unique view on the life stages of coconuts, and their cultural value to the Hawaiian people. Cute retail space with local artisanal goods. Check it out!

What a great find this was on Maui! If you are looking for something different to do and like/love coconuts - or just a passing interest in them - then this is the place!
Emma was our guide and she is passionate about all things coconut. We started with a leisurely walk to a view point to take in the magnificent view of the ocean, Lanai, Molokai and Kaho'olawe. Beautiful! Then we taken to a shady spot to sit and hear how coconuts are grown, how (most likely) they got to the Hawaiian Islands and some Polynesian history. Then we had fresh coconut milk from the coconuts grown there that Emma opened for us. After the coconut milk we had the fresh coconut flesh in various stages of ripeness. Very interesting and delicious.
There is a "bar" you can get drinks from - including coconut milk and small gif shop on property. You are welcome to linger in the shade of the coconut palms as long as you like. Highly recommend and we will go again when back on Maui.

The Catholic Church of Maria Lanakila is a historic concrete church with masses, weddings, and community events. The church has great architecture that will blow you away, and the interiors are well done. devotees and travelers come to the church all year round.
This is one of the most beautiful Catholic Churches I’ve ever been in! The doors were wide open and it’s full of fresh warm air. And everything about it was beautiful, especially the statues- love how Damien of Molokai is in all the Catholic churches in Maui

Beautiful Catholic Church to stop on our trip here. Was here for Sunday Mass & Stations of the Cross on Friday. Incredible Mass, priests, choir, and altar servers! Amazing congregation here as well! The Sisters also have a beautiful gift shop as well! I couldn’t spend much time here unfortunately, but I heard they are very involved with different missions & charities!

We attended 8:30 mass on the 17th Sunday of ordinary time, July 28, 2019. Father Sebastian was the priest for our mass. This church and parish is beautiful. They make visitors feel welcome, the singer has an amazing voice with exceptional range, accompanied by an equally amazing choir (musicians were also great!)...readings, gospel, etc were clear and audible. There is no AC, but there are ceiling fans everywhere, and the tall windows were wide open - it was not uncomfortably warm/hot. If you're in the Lahaina area on a Sunday, this is a beautiful church/parish to go to for mass. We arrived around 8:15, just as the attendees of the 7am mass were leaving, so street parking on Dickenson was readily available.

Maria Lanakila is a beautiful and historic piece of Lahaina Village. Definitely a must see and it's the cornerstone of Lahaina's historic district. Don't miss this treasure that's just a few blocks up from Front Street. But also remember it is an active church and there is always someone there for Perpetual Adoration, so use your mind's voice and be respectful. ❤🤙😊

Very nice, welcoming worship experience. Lot's of tourist's, of course so very casual. Wear shorts! Open air. Arrive early for parking and seating. Limited parking available across the street and paid parking ($5) half a block away.
Kaanapali Beach is a scenic beach located on Maui and is the location for some of West Mauis most popular resorts. It's a great place to go swimming, snorkeling, and sunbathing. There are no lifeguards so be sure to check with the hotel before diving in.
Beautiful beach in Maui. Can do everything from surfing to snorkeling to just relaxing on the beach. Some portions here and there are quite rocky so be careful if you go out into the water. The beach itself is wonderful and sandy. No real shade so come prepared!

Great beach overall for snorkeling, walking, relaxing, & viewing the sunset.
Snorkeling is pretty good at Black Rock, at the far right end of the beach. Saw 2 turtles, some eagle rays & plenty of fish over the few times going out. The part of the beach near Black Rock (north end) is pretty wide, allowing for plenty of room. Slightly crowded but not that bad, Kapalua Bay was much busier (but snorkeling was better at Kapalua) .
The backdrop of nearby islands & Black Rock make this a very picturesque place. As the sun sets a diver lights torches & jumps in - it’s hard to tell when this happens though. The torches are lit through the sunset which adds to the scenery.

One of the beaches along Kaanapali coastline in Maui. It is near The Whalers Village and frequently visited by guests from nearby resorts. It is lively with many activities of beach visitors whether just to lie down and relax or play with pounding waves ashore or a pleasant strolling along the beachwalk. It is a great place to watch sunset on a clear day.

Nice boardwalk made out of granite rock. The boardwalk stretch along the resort row, but beaches is nothing to see. Not much sand to walk on before you got hit with waves. The sand is a bit steep when getting into the water. So you are either in the water or boardwalk. Kinda disappointed with all the beaches in Maui.
Tin Nguyen — Google review
My absolute favorite beach on Maui. Avoid the one further north, too many rocks in the water.
This one has really good waves, depending on the day, got totally rolled by a big one! Thought my shoulder was close to dislocated, so pretty big wave.
This is a beach where they load and unload a lot of tourist sail boats. On the one hand annoying as they come in and hog the beach for a bit, on the other fun to watch. Plenty of showers right off beach. Also plenty of restaurants steps away. Parking is free in places or you can park at the Whalers Village shopping center parking (pricey) and then walk straight through the shopping mall. You might get your parking validated if you buy something there.
There are places to stay right here too, so really a good place.

Gorgeous stretch of beach! There is a pathway that runs behind the hotels so you can get onto the beach. Lots of space to spread out, but I can see it getting really busy during the day.

Spent almost every day (except when we drove the road to Hana) on this beach. Snorkeling was amazing right off the beach, but if you go past the breakers (highly recommend), you'll see so much more. Swam with sea turtles, saw eels, beautiful coral and so many different types of fish...literally thousands. Plenty of room on the beach to find your own private-ish spot, or strike up a conversation with fellow beachers. We packed in lunch most days. There beach access parking across from the Hyatt and walk in access straight to the beach. We found a spot every day we went.

Great beach that will have an awesome sunset view. It’s a very high populated tourist spot, so if you’re looking for something more intimate, you may look elsewhere.
Lahaina's Front Street is a lively strip of shops, restaurants and cafes that offers beautiful views of the ocean and nearby islands. The street is home to a huge banyan tree from 1873, which makes it an interesting destination for shoppers and visitors alike.
Beautiful historic area, really loved the all the old architecture with balconies on front street, adored strolling up down this avenue trying different eats and shopping, very vibrant & touristy with lots of historical merit with even a few museums on offer in this lovely town!

The Baldwin Home Museum is a step back into the past. The thing about visiting places like this is that you actually get to form a connection with history and I never get tired of it. This is exactly why I travel. Make sure to visit the Chinese immigration museum next door too. It's a real treat.

Nice small museum in the middle of Lahaina. Worth a visit if you have a half hour or so to spend. $7 price tag might be little steep, but if you plan to visit another museum on their list $10 for the multiple-museum pass is worth it. Wo Hing Museum is only a few blocks away and a visit to both is worth the $10 price.

The Baldwin Home was a great stop to learn some of the history of the family and their impact on the island. It's a very small house and only takes a few minutes to walk through. The women that sat outside were extremely friendly and an absolute blast to joke around with. Make the stop to learn some history.
This restored and turned-into a cultural museum, the Wo Hing Temple Museum in Lahaina preserves ceremonial instruments, a teak medicine cabinet from the early 1900s and ancient jade pieces dating back thousands of years.
Had an amazing experience visiting the museum Dr. Yip is so kind and knowledgeable about Chinese Hawaiian history and all the artifacts within the museum. We were visiting from Canada and happened to stumble upon this place and we are so happy we did. Went with the whole family and we couldn’t believe how welcoming she was! With my moms side of the family also being Chinese we actually discovered that we along with Dr. Yip have relatives from the same small town in China! She also gave us her own personal story of how she ended up in Maui which is just as interesting as the museum itself. I walked away with a lot of knowledge and a smile on my face I will be visiting this museum anytime I’m even close to Maui and hopefully we can stay in touch through email with Dr. Yip. If you have the time please go see for yourself this historic museum along with the vibrant and friendly Dr. Yip guiding you through it.

There are so many amazing artifacts in such a small space. The sweet woman, Yit, who was working there today is an absolute delight! She is full of knowledge and excited to share with visitors. There is an hour long film about the history of the Chinese in Hawaii, but it is in the old kitchen building that is quite stuffy so we only watched about 15 minutes of it but she said we could come back later and watch more as it plays continuously. $7 admission for ages 13 and up and totally worth it. My kiddos are 12 and 13 and they enjoyed it very much as well.

A piece of history that describes the intersection between Chinese, Hawaiian, and American lives. I understand there is geopolitical and cultural conflict in today's environment. However, this museum focuses on common ground that I feel most can relate despite one's cultural or social backgrounds. Humans are just humans, and there is more in common than differences if we are willing to be empathetic.
The curator Dr. Yip is very friendly and knowledgeable. The price of admission is $8 per adult, but you get a PhD that gives you a tour. A small building but it it is packed with history. People are willing to spend hundreds to look at pineapples, so $8 for a doctor to give a personal tour of Chinese Hawaiian American history is worth it.
I would highly recommend this place if you are in this area.
