Beautiful views. You can see Mexico on the other side. Its was something new for us we were excited. We did need to go all the way to the top. It was cold and windy. If you look at the pictures where you see the X in red. Thats a placita in Mexico.

No parking during the weekends. El Paso City leaders can do better since they up on our taxes. What a shame this is a city staple for tourist to see our picturesque mountains.
Franklin Mountains State Park spans 24,247 acres of picturesque desert terrain which offers a range of outdoor activities such as rock climbing, hiking, camping and wildlife spotting. To celebrate the start of the new year, visitors can participate in the First Day Hike tradition by taking a guided tour of the Upper Sunset Trail in Tom Mays Unit. This trail is approximately 3 miles round trip and offers moderate difficulty with some steep inclines and declines along rocky sections.
I say wow...the most beautiful state park in the entire state so far for me. The landscape, picnic tables , restrooms are very clean. Everything are nice inside out. View of the mountain behind is a plus. Very relaxing. A must stop by place. The staff are awesome too. You can tell they love what they are doing. I wish we hike some trails but run out of time.

Nice scenery and very quiet. Visitor center is very modern and has lots of nice outdoor space. One of the beginner trails we visited wasn't in great shape due to being partially washed out. We weren't there long enough to do any extensive hiking or anything but it seems there are plenty of long trails and campgrounds. Entrance fee was modest.

Beautiful state park, great camp sites and trails. We really enjoyed our hike at the Upper Sunset Trail, it's a moderate hike. There are some DRY RV spots available. The bathrooms we saw did not have showers, I'm sure there are some on site, but you'll need to call and check. The roads are Nottoway so if you have a huge RV, I would call ahead.

Great hiking spot, different hiking trails u can choose from. Feel free to ask for map at the visitor center, a min 1$ visitor fee is required. I did the Aztec Cave Trail, it is a mix of beginner and moderate level as few distance are full of rocks, it required a bit strength to go uphill and downhill when u came back down. Trails are easy to follow, you won't get lost, just beware of rocks.

I stayed overnight here as part of a trip to visit Guadalupe Mountain National Park, White Sands National Park, and Carlsbad Caverns National Park. This state park was one of my favorite stops in my journey. Quiet, peaceful, well-maintained, courteous rangers, clean facilities. I felt like I had the park to myself even though there were 4 or 5 other groups camping in the park as well. The hike to the caves is a little intense but worth it.

Attended a talk on water conservation at the Tom Mays park visitor center by the Franklin Mtns State Park. It was given by the El Paso Master Gardeners. They give talks once a month at various locations around the city. The visitor center is very nice and has a store with various camping and other items. I didn't go into the park itself as there is an entrance fee. But there are numerous hiking trails.

Unexpectedly awesome. I didn’t have any expectations after visiting other State Parks. Usually state parks are smaller and do not offer long hikes. We did Summit trail in morning and Aztec Cave trail in afternoon. Summit Trail had awesome 360 views of the whole town but the hike was somewhat Hard. It was hot but we started early morning so we got heat on the way back. After doing this trail our energy was low, so we decided on a shorter trail and chose Aztec Cave Trail, call it a mistake or call us lucky we had all trail by ourself, there was no one on the trail but this hike was way steeper though very short. We enjoyed both the trails. The staff at visitor center is awesome and very friendly.

We had a great time participating in this year's First Day Hike to welcome the new year. This time we continued our New Year's Day tradition of going hiking by joining the guided tour of the Upper Sunset trail in the Tom Mays Unit.
This was an easy to moderate 3 mile round trip. In this trail you encounter some elevation gains, with some short steep inclines/declines. There are a few rocky/rough sections, but the views are great as you walk along the ridgeline.

Very beautiful challenge! I love hiking/running the nearby trails. This one is definitely a workout compared to the others ones I went to. There are several intensive areas you can challenge yourself on. I did 4 hikes same day within 1 hour 24 minutes to include the aztec cave hike. I'm definitely sold on this area.

My Fiancé and I hiked here a few years ago and did the Aztec Cave trail. It was short in length but it sure made up for it in height. It was a good climb up but nothing too crazy. You could bring your dog and/ or kids. Definitely recommend bringing water for both. The caves were really cool and if you're feeling adventurous you could scramble up the side of the caves to get on top of the ledge and get some great views!

Enjoyed an overnight stay on our RV road trip. Lovely desert mountain. The visitors center is very nice. The Tom Mays nature trail is very nice with the wildflower blooming and the bird blind. Only had time for that short trail. Would love to come back and explore more.
There are no hookups for RVs only spots with fire rings and tables which are nice. When approaching the park, it is extremely easy to miss the turn due to not very obvious signage. And if you do, coming from the north, it is several miles til you can turn around. If you’re coming from the south, it’s downhill and difficult to stop and turn with al that weight on that grade. Just watch your map closely.
Oh and if you plan to arrive after 5, call by 4 pm Mountain time to get instructions to get past the coded gate. If you have RV reservations the code is buried in your confirmation email.

Franklin Mountains State Park is an absolute treasure in the heart of the Texan desert. Nestled in the rugged, rocky terrain of El Paso, this park offers a diverse range of activities and breathtaking vistas that will leave you in awe.
First and foremost, the hiking trails here are spectacular. Whether you're an experienced hiker or just looking for a casual stroll, there's something for everyone. The Ron Coleman Trail is a challenging but rewarding hike, offering panoramic views of the city below. If you prefer something more relaxed, the Nature Walk Trail is perfect for birdwatching and enjoying the desert's unique flora.
Rock climbers will be in heaven here, with endless opportunities to test their skills on the park's rocky outcrops. The feeling of conquering those ancient mountains is truly exhilarating.
What sets Franklin Mountains State Park apart is the tranquility it offers. Despite being close to the city, you can find peace and quiet here. The starry nights are simply mesmerizing, and the park rangers are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, making sure your visit is safe and enjoyable.
The visitor center is a fantastic resource, offering information on the park's history, geology, and wildlife. It's a great place to start your journey and learn more about the area.
Make sure to bring plenty of water and wear appropriate clothing, as the desert heat can be unforgiving. Also, note that some of the trails can be challenging, so proper footwear is essential.
In summary, Franklin Mountains State Park is a hidden gem in the desert, offering outdoor enthusiasts, nature lovers, and adventure seekers an unforgettable experience. It's a must-visit if you're in the El Paso area, and it showcases the natural beauty and rugged charm of Texas.

I read that this is the largest urban park in the USA, larger than Central Park! We stayed there only one night in an RV dry site. Site was honestly quite challenging since is was positioned on a big slope, so no way we could level for the night. We ended up parked close to lower sunset trail (thanks to the kind ranger) and we got a great view of El Paso and sunset. We have boondocked in many places and done dry camping in other State Parks but there was usually a place to get water and to fill our RV tank on site but not at Franklin Mountains State Park. They have to truck water since there is no well. So fill up RV tank before coming! Otherwise a nice place to stop by and for just $20/night.

We had a fantastic hike on the Aztec Cave Trail with the dog. It's not a technical route at all, but a couple of steps required me to lift him up onto the next step as it was just too steep for him (45 lb. dog). Wide trail, plenty of parking and easy to get in and out of there. But what a great hike. We even got to see a Colorado tarantula! We will be back to explore the other trails very soon!!

Embarking on the Ron Coleman trail at Franklin State Park proved to be a rugged and challenging adventure. However, the overall experience was somewhat tempered by the trail's less-than-ideal maintenance. The path was strewn with numerous rocks and pebbles, posing an additional obstacle throughout the journey. Navigating through this uneven terrain demanded extra caution and attention to foot placement, detracting from the otherwise immersive hiking experience. Despite the trail's natural beauty and captivating scenery, the lack of proper maintenance somewhat diminished the enjoyment, as the focus shifted to negotiating the rocky terrain. Hikers should be prepared for a more strenuous trek due to the trail conditions, yet the unique challenges presented by Ron Coleman trail still offer a distinctive and memorable outdoor experience at Franklin State Park.
The Plaza Theatre is a restored 1930s venue in downtown El Paso that hosts live performances and features an original Wurlitzer organ. The architecture of the theater reflects its age, with tight seating and limited legroom. However, the helpful and friendly event staff make up for any discomfort. Visitors can enjoy a free tour of the historic venue to learn about its fascinating history. There is easy parking nearby at the Convention Center parking garage, making it a convenient destination for entertainment lovers.
I've been here numerous times and it's always a great night out. This is an older theater that shows it's age in the architecture when you walk inside. They have a bar immediately to your left when you walk inside that takes card or cash. The theater chairs are a bit tight and theres not much leg room. If you're 6 ft or taller chances are you won't be too comfortable.

The plaza was refurbished in 2017, and they did a great job. It's beautifully done. The men's bathroom space could be improved a little. I went to see the 50th anniversary of Kansas. If you're a fan of their music, then it's worthwhile. The sound quality was very good. It's not a huge venue, but it seemed to have ample space.

Here is the thing about The Plaza Theatre you can't go in thinking everything will be brand new. It is a very old building that has been restored to its historic glory. That being said the theater experience as far as attending an event is nice. The lighting is fabulous and the sound is crisp and clear. The problem is the seating is OLD and outdated. The leg space between isles was not made for someone over 5'8" at best. You are literally crammed in a row with all these other people and its so uncomfortable. I do love the acts they feature at the Plaza but seating needs to be updated. And as a side note it isn't handicap friendly. I struggled to get my mom from Point A to Point B with minimal discomfort. If you can get past the uncomfortable seating you'll have a good time.
Emily Mills — Google review
I saw Rob Schneider there a week ago, and I loved the show. However, I'm 6'1", and those seats are from when they built the place. AND let's say it was built for very short people back in the day. That's why I'm only giving it 3 stars 🌟

We watched Les Mis US tour performance here. It is an incredible show with an amazing tour company.
However, regarding the theater experience, it is not so great. So the 2 star rating is for the teater. The worst part of the experience is that the theater keeps letting late people in during the first half hour of the show. This not only disturbs the audience, but more importantly disrespects the performers.
Other than that, it is a cool theater that shows it's history and age. The seats are very narrow in modern theater standards. The floor is very flat, so your view is blocked from the waist down by mostly bald heads, even when we were sitting in Row A.

Some genius decided that it would be a good idea to sell popcorn in a plastic noisy bag to enjoy during the musical. Not sure if I’ll be going to this theater again (The Plaza Theater in El Paso) unless they realize that popcorn ruines the experience of live music.

We saw the movie "As Good as it Gets during the classic film festival. The movie was introduced by Helen Hunt and we saw her interviewed on stage about juggling making this film and also starring in the sitcom "Mad About You ". Her answers sounded like anyone we know, not a high profile star. She is very down to earth and matter of fact. It was a delight to get the opportunity to hear her speak. She received a Lifetime Achievement Award presented to her before the audience. Very enjoyable evening! The entire audience was quiet and respectful when she spoke. I was escorted out by Mr. Mike Bernstein. He was super nice to me and made sure I got safely to my car after the show. OUTSTANDING IN EVERY ASPECT!!!

My biggest complaint is the seats are extremely small. If you are a bigger person they are not kind or forgiving. Even a small in-width person is still going to be near on top of the people next to them. The bathroom is in the basement, which is odd. Also, there are stairs everywhere, but I believe it is wheelchair accessible still. They have drinks, beer, and a few snacks.

Caution, we bought tickets for Aladdin not using the map and we weren't seated together, they were on opposite ends. Please use the map! Also staff was super nice and helped fixed the issue even with a sold out show. Our night wasn't looking too good, but one specific usher helped us out, wish I got her named because the first four ushers weren't that great or nice. The last employees we spoke to were understanding and helped find us a solution.

I paid $200 for a show to treat myself, I arrived early, dressed according to their dress ode requirements "evening attire". They made me walk around the entire building in hills after a very long walk from the parking lot to the entrance (they should definitely write "comfortable walking shoes in this dress code!) then made me miss the first part of the show to demand my soldier husband who's in training be there (even though I bought the ticket myself, not sure how his name which is on my ID got there) clearly they've never seen a military ID in this "military town". So I ended up standing in hills more... A lit more.... They finally let us in & they employee that I asked for help to find my seat took my ticket, ignored me & led someone else until they started the next part & I had to stand longer in hills until it was over! Finally found my seat, & the elevation is so bad, that the guy infront of me's hat blocked the entire stage! Seriously, don't they build for people of all heights? It's the most expansive ticket very close to the stage, & I can't see because it's so flat! Huge waste of money! I'm going through too much, & decided to treat myself to a tinny break, & do something nice for the first time in so many years... All I got is sore feet & embraced that I obeyed their dress code. The show was incredible! But they're international, I can go see them somewhere else if I really want to in the future. The overall experience is very disappointing! Honestly, if their dress code had prepared me saying "parking is far from the door, wear comfortable walking shoes" then I would have had a wonderful experience! Amazing how one very painful thing can destroy your evening before it even started

I had the privilege of visiting the Fort Bliss Museum, and I was truly impressed with the experience. The museum is a hidden gem that offers a fascinating journey into the rich history of Fort Bliss and the military.
The collection of artifacts and exhibits here is remarkable. From the well-preserved uniforms and weaponry to the detailed accounts of historical events, the museum provides a comprehensive insight into the military heritage of Fort Bliss. Whether you're a history enthusiast or simply curious about the area's past, there's something for everyone to appreciate.
The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, offering guided tours and answering questions with enthusiasm. Their passion for the subject matter is evident, which enhanced the overall experience.
The museum's layout is well-organized, making it easy to navigate through the various exhibits. It's a perfect place for both individuals and families, as it educates and entertains in equal measure.
If you're in the Fort Bliss area, don't miss the opportunity to visit this museum. It's a great way to pay tribute to the brave men and women who have served and learn more about the history of this remarkable military installation.
Overall, the Fort Bliss Museum is a must-visit attraction, and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in military history or those wanting to gain a deeper appreciation for the sacrifices made by our armed forces.

Decent sized building with a lot of indoor displays. Unfortunately, it needs a major overhaul as it is WELL worn in areas with a distracting and very cluttered front office right when you walk in. The outdoor displays are basic with the common attractions there. Nothing really stands out and only a few vehicles to see. Not horrible, but I've seen incredibly better representation at other military bases. I recommend whoever is in charge of the museum travel to other base museums and request input from a working group to improve the museum.

Good museum. I'm a bit of a history nerd and always love visiting the base and unit museums wherever the Army stations me. The museum is really open but has a good amount of exhibits. The only thing I would say that keeps it from being great is that it feels like there's still a lot of space to fill up and wish there was something interactive in it. The airborne museum at Bragg has a movie theater with seats that move along with the airborne and special forces missions being shown on screen. The Mighty 8th Air Force Museum near Fort Stewart has a B-17 fuselage you can stand in and operate a .50cal as a side gunner to shoot down attacking aircraft. It would be a great addition if 1AD could get a tank or bradley gunner simulator setup in the museum.

I could only see the tanks, which were great, with one exception: the plaque for the M4 Sherman. The museum mentioned two engines but left off the first (my favorite, so American “make do” in a pinch) Chrysler Multibank gasoline engine. That engine was installed in the early model M4 hustled off to war, the Grant was a dismal failure and had to be replaced quickly. That engine should not be left off. Also, the V2 Rocket is gone, please bring it back!

The El Paso Zoo and Botanical Gardens is a 35-acre park that houses over 220 species of African, American, and Asian animals in natural habitats. The playground with slides was particularly popular among children. However, some animals were not visible due to the cold weather. The train ride was enjoyable but expensive for the limited sightseeing it offered. Unfortunately, there are no paper maps available at present, so visitors need a digital one instead. Some exhibits were closed or empty during the visit.
Had a great time saw some big animals which was nice. Some exhibits were closed or didn't have anything which was sad, but overall it was fun. Granddaughters first visit to the zoo.

They have frequent "enrichment" shows to highlight the different animals.
There is also a wonderful cat interaction house and adoption service on site.
It being so hot probably had something to do with it but most of the animals looked sad.
There were several exhibits under construction and a lot of the exhibits only had one animal.

Went early midday on a Saturday. We had to get in line to buy tickets but it took 3 minutes to go in. The prices are not bad at all. I was expecting it to be little more expensive.
Although, it was somewhat packed, it was comfortable to walk around and take pictures. To walk the whole zoo took us about 2 hours. A considerable amount of exhibits were not active/animals not in. However, we enjoyed our afternoon.
When finalizing around 3 PM, the zoo was very crowded and hard to walk by.

My family and I hadn’t been to the zoo in a while. We had membership, but there’s been some changes involving the city’s support so those are on hold for now. Only daily tickets are available for purchase at the gate and nowhere else. Most of the animals were out today but many were not. It would be nice to have an update on which animals will be unavailable on their website to give people the heads up.
On a positive note, we finally got to see the new penguin exhibit and the new rhinoceros!!! Seeing both at our zoo was awesome!!! My family enjoyed our time at the zoo, but unfortunately, they were closing earlier than I’m used to (3pm). I wasn’t aware of the hours before since I was a member and went whenever I could. They’re closed Mondays and Tuesdays. If you plan on going, please take note the times of operation and that tickets must be purchased at the entrance.
Also, until the negotiations are done with, if you do go, please save your ticket to put towards your membership purchase later one. (It was posted online).

Such a great zoo! Visiting from Tampa, FL and had to stop in with my son. It was great to see so many animals that we don't get to see at our zoo back home.
It was a really hot day so I think some of the animals were kept inside and I wish some of the others would have had something to cool them down because the heat seemed to be affecting some of them as well.
Loved their cat adoption facility and though this was a great idea that many other zoos should do as well!

This zoo has many animals to see. From zebras to birds and many more. This zoo is big, you can send here easily from 1-3 hours depending the activities you choose. They also have a train that can take you throughout the zoo to see the animals. There is a gift shop available to buy things and souvenirs for yourself as a memory. This is a great place for any age and any person who wants to see animals.

We've always love the zoo! There are so many new things for kids of all ages! For a smaller city zoo, the attention to detail and the engagement activities for visitors is really incredible. Plus, the zoo is part of a conservation program that helps endangered species! And if you buy an annual membership, it's even better because you can bring a friend with every visit! So it's a win win!

Our visit started off nice but because of the attitude of the staff our visit was no fun. They have really let the place go. We have visited many time over the past 10 years and it was always nice even when we went and there wasn’t as many animals we didn’t mind because everyone was friendly but this is no longer the case. There was a employee she was tall, thin black hair with a bob. She had the worst attitude. She yelled at guests. She ruined a video a young couple was trying to make of there daughter because she ran in font of them to yell at someone else. I heard another employee yelling from across the park at another kid. Im not being dramatic either this employee was extremely angry and yelling. The employees need to understand that they will be dealing with a lot of kids and if they don’t have the proper training then maybe this is not the job for them. Having a stranger yell at a little kid is quite terrifying. Especially when they go there to have fun. I understand that kids cannot be climbing and jumping around on certain things but there’s a way to tell them without yelling at them. If anyone had done that to my kids I would’ve definitely had a problem.

Nice size zoo. It’s a little hot in June (what else is new…) but there is plenty of shade. We saw quite a few animals including the Red River Hog which was new to us. Make time for the special activities (including the giraffe feeding which is only $3)

Great zoo, awesome park inside and splash pad. Was a bit disappointed at price and how many sections had no animals. This was our second trip to the zoo since moving here. First time was a let down because there was trash in most of the exhibits and over half did not have animals. This time we went for the Bug Extravaganza. That part was cool, but there were even less animals in the exhibits and still trash in many of the exhibits. Sea lions glass were still filthy and hard to see through.

We came to visit our family and decided to try the zoo, since there’s not very many things to do here in El paso with little kids, we thought it was going to be great and memorable for the kids. Before coming saw very many good reviews, but once we got there to our surprise the place was very run down, dirty, some exhibits were empty , you could tell the animals were very neglected, the windows were dirty and some of them foggy you couldn’t see the exhibits, the water in the sea lions’ tank was a nasty green color you could barely see the poor animal there swimming in nasty green water. The very few stations with hand sanitizer were empty, everything costs money, there’s very few concessions places so you might get hungry during the trip, be prepared and better pack your own snacks!
The only good thing is that there’s lots of shade and the playground area is very fun for little kids. They need to do something, this place has lots of potential, they just have neglected it so much!

I always hear people complain about how the exhibits are closed. Fortunately, that was not the case for my family and I. We arrived upon opening, and all the animals were out. We enjoyed the new exhibits of the rhino and the penguins. We got to enjoy the baby giraffe and orangutan. We also got to see the new Kamodo Dragon. Although some exhibits were closed, I can see the zoo improving and working hard to entertain the public. Kudos to El Paso Zoo. 👏

The El Paso Museum of Art showcases artwork that reflects the American, Mexican and European roots of the area. The gallery features a diverse collection including fashion items worn by Tupac Shakur, beautiful works depicting Jesus and his disciples done in various mediums such as oil painting, pencil drawing and charcoal sketches. There are also exhibits showcasing different cultures. Unfortunately, the second floor was closed during our visit.
There was no fee to get in. The security guards were so friendly. You cannot take big bags or bottle water in but they will let you out it in a storage area. The Art was amazing!

Very nice building and very clean. It was easy to get to, only a 10 minute walk from our hotel and it was free admission. The museum itself had some interesting exhibits, but overall I found it boring. It didn’t take long to walk through the whole thing. I felt it wasn’t as captivating as other art museums I’ve been to. But it is worth a visit if you are in the area.

Such beautiful artwork.. today we got to see a section that had fashion including items Tupac Shakur wore. We seen beautiful artwork on Jesus ..his disciples ect. Beautiful different works of art some oil painting some pencil some done with charcoal just amazing also some work of art in culture. Very much enjoyed our time here.

Really shocking collection of beautiful art; especially if you keep an open mind towards different types of art. If you have an appreciation for unique art regardless of whether or not a specific piece speaks to you or not you will really appreciate this museum.

Superb free to visit museum with galleries on two floors.
There are exhibits which include the work of young local artists and iconic religious art. However, the two most powerful collections are based on gender motivated violence and of art based on experiences connected to the nearby border, which are both excellent.

Amazing place to see regrettably the second floor was closed so we couldn't experience everything that they had to offer. Parking is not available near the building but further along there's street parking.

Very interesting place to check out the paintings and other art pieces. I really enjoyed the time there, the crew was very nice and very friendly. All the information about the art pieces is in English and in Spanish also.

AMAZING! I have traveled and lived all over the world. This place is a gem! Free with a lovely collection of art, well curated over the years. You feel welcomed the moment you enter and all is easy. We visited recently with my mother and young daughter and we walked into a classical concert playing live in the lobby as we toured the museum. A beautiful, charming experience! Highly recommend!

I definitely would definitely recommend it. I really enjoyed the Selena Quintanilla Exhibit

Great museum that is free to visit! There is so much to look at. Definitely a great addition to the community. They have events listed inside for members of the art exhibit. The halls are wide enough that you could comfortably bring children and have them by your side without risking them knocking into anything expensive. We went over a weekend and it was not very busy.

Unfortunately I didn't have a chance to look at the art during my visit, but I did hold an amazing event in the lobby and mezzanine areas. It was the perfect space for me to be able to create and design my reception with many different elements. Natalia was helpful, flexible and easy to work with. I would do another event there in a heartbeat, highly recommended!

Stunning small collections of regional contemporary art depicting the ties and separation of Juarez and El Paso. Brings in gorgeous Americana landscapes and portraiture via 20th Century greats, and looks back to the Colonial Era, Renaissance, and even Byzantine with Classical religious iconography. Lots of “wow” moments here. It’s obvious how important light is to this West Texas town, and their paintings, photographs, and sculptures shine brilliant reflections of the people and places that make up this fascinating town and it’s environs.

Seems like El Paso and it choice of art is so death centered that I found it repulsive and sick. Museums are meant to enlighten and stir consciousness. I left, not eager to return. The Selena collective brought back memories of such a vivacious woman...died by murder from someone from her own culture and ethnicity. Our border dynamic is filled with immigrant stories yearning to be shared...of life. Let's tell the stories via art of survivors and those who win the fight to gain access to a richer, life filled museum driven to bring more to its visitors.

Very nice art museum in El Paso, very close to the history museum so you can easily see both on the same day. Very nice galleries with beautiful works of art.
Another beautiful church in the region. Museum Staff are extremely friendly. The church, the old jail and the museum are a very little trip. During the year San Elizario has many events. There are many art shop in the Main Street.

If the door happens to be locked when you arrive, you can get the security guard who was so friendly to let you in to look around and get brochures. Historical facts and neat old artifacts to look at! The Mission is across the street diagonal from the association. It's one of three on the trail. Also stop at Lincon dairy along the route!!

The El Paso Holocaust Museum & Study Center is a bilingual museum dedicated to educating visitors about the history of the Jewish people before, during, and after the Holocaust. The well-designed exhibits take guests on a chronological journey through this period and include artifacts, photos, and videos that are concise, informative, and worth watching. The museum also provides an interactive experience by taking visitors inside replica box cars and guard towers.
Very informative! Takes about an hour to go through. It’s free but take donations and definitely deserves a good donation so bring cash. Came to El Paso to visit from the east coast and a friend suggested this museum I’m happy they did!

What an amazing museum. Though small, there is so much to learn and see. Take your time, read and listen to everything. I didn't have high expectations from the size of it, I was wrong, it was fantastic.

Nice museum. Impressed they have one here in El Paso. Some interesting artifacts and nicely designed displays. Worth an hour of your time. Free admission but accepts donations.

An important piece of history that should not be forgotten or swept under the rug. There is no nice way to recount the atrocities that occurred during this time period but this museum definitely gets right to the point. It's quite surreal and makes you think and reflect on the terrible journey many experienced. The difficult subject matter might not be easily digested by all and you will definitely come out quite somber.

Beautiful, albeit small museum. It is a free museum, so that's the only negative I have about this place. Employees were friendly and very informative. Thank you for the educational experience.

Wonderfully done museum with real artifacts. Well done video tour and timeliness as one walks through the holocaust from beginning to end. Includes interactive exhibits as well. The museum is free and accepts donations. They have a good book store and gift shop as well.

Absolutely breathtaking and a must-see! When you arrive, expect to receive the kindest greeting. After signing in and getting a short description of the self guided tour, you are on your way.
Stepping through the double doors, you are whisked back in time to Pre-world war II. Travel through the footsteps of the German Jewish community.
Free to enter and tour, but please donate to the museum since this is mainly funded by donations.

Wonderful experience. Very clean facilities with friendly employees. Everything is authentic so it's an incredible thing to see. It really is educational and is a perfect place to learn about the Holocaust. You can take as long or as little time as you like. They even have educational films and clips on Tvs along the way.

This museum is very eye opening. You get a feeling as soon as you walk through the double doors. I liked to sit on the bench and listen to each video...it's very quiet. You have time to read. The pictures on display made my heart ache. The personal items made the experience that much more understanding. I respected some of the exhibit was placed behind a half wall for those visitors that might not be age appropriate. I would recommend this museum very much.
Tracy Dillon — Google review
Very well designed and curated museum. As you go through the rooms, you get a chronological history of the Jewish people before, during, and after the Holocaust. It's not just exhibits scattered around, the party through the museum is an educational journey, at one point going into a replica box car and alongside barbed wire underneath a guard tower. The videos that are played in each room are well produced, concise, informative, and worth watching. While the lessons of the Holocaust inevitably involve mature and serious subject matter, I feel like this museum does a good job catering to a wide audience. There is no entry fee and this museum is definitely worth the trip.
The National Border Patrol Museum is a free museum showcasing the history of the United States Border Patrol. The exhibits feature various historical vehicles, weaponry, electronics, uniforms and other equipment related to the Border Patrol. It is an excellent opportunity for all ages to learn more about the work done by this agency and appreciate their contributions. The museum pays tribute to all those who have lost their lives in service and highlights the impact of criminals entering into the country. Donations are accepted but admission is free for all visitors.

An excellent and unique museum. It is a non profit run by volunteers and takes no tax or government money. The exhibits are unique and tell compelling stories. Our country is special and people without hope at home will try almost anything to make a home in the US. The Border Patrol works hard to keep things in check and as safe as possible.

This free museum tells the history of the Border Patrol and exhibits vehicles used by both BP and smugglers. Although the exhibits could stand some updates and professionalization, I always enjoy taking friends who come to visit. It's an important part of the picture of the border community.
San Jacinto Plaza is a peaceful and well-maintained urban square with lovely green spaces, shade trees, park benches, and a snack bar. It is said to have beautiful lights during the holiday season but parking can be limited. Visitors should beware of panhandlers in the area. The plaza is located in the Historic District of Down Town El Paso and offers clean restrooms at its visitor center as well as onsite security personnel.
This is a very nice and active Park in the Historic District of Down Town El Paso. The visitor Center has clean bathrooms. Security is on-site. So, do not sit on "The Wall" around the fountain. Alot of places to dine. Very good location for wedding parties to take pictures.

It looks amazing. There's lights everywhere you look, but there's no X-mas music. I visited on a Tuesday, so unaware if they do have music on the weekends. There's bicycles and scooters for rent. They have chess table, ping pong tables, a pit to play horseshoes and food vendors. Everything is just magical.

We are from out of state and visiting. Someone told us the lights are beautiful in this park. Parking is not the greatest. When we got out from our car, a homeless man approached us right away. In less that 200 ft another one was asking for some change. Finally we got to the park and sit on the bench and approached again by another guy. We decided not to wait for the christmas lightsl . We were worried of our stuff inside the car.

I enjoyed my quick visit at this Park in the most beautiful interesting and historic part of El Paso. It is clean and security is in site. There was a little café in the park, open late. Many families with kids, couples, tourists and even a group of teens dressed up like they were going to a wedding stopped by with their limo for a photo shoot. It’s not a quiet relaxing oasis where you can connect with nature but still a nice little spot to sit down and regain energy.

Magoffin Home State Historic Site is a renowned dwelling that belonged to a pioneering multicultural family. It boasts of exquisite adobe architecture and well-preserved original furnishings, providing an immersive experience about the life in that time period. The site offers house & garden tours where visitors can learn about the history of El Paso while engaging with knowledgeable staff and volunteers. This place presents a unique contrast to modern houses in the area, showcasing how it has stood the test of time.
Great tour. Being a history nut I always try to find a couple of historical places to visit while on vacation. Imagine our surprise when we found that several branches of the family (Magoffin and Shelby) were from Kentucky! We were visiting from Kentucky.

I’ve been wanting to visit this Historic Texas Household since 2020, but the pandemic happened and y’all know the rest of the story. I was able to visit El Paso and took the time to visit the Magoffin Home. As I walked in the visitor center, I was warmly welcomed by Ms. Gloria. I paid the admission and we walked toward the house. When Ms. Gloria opened the front door and welcomed me to enter the historic home, one is transported to another era. The original floors, original doors and hardware. The 140 year old Piano…so beautiful! I got to see Uncle Charlie’s Chair. The Master Bedroom was beautiful, but Ms. Josephine’s Bedroom was lavish. Original bathtub and sink, prayer room. It was so cool! Ms. Gloria did a wonderful job giving me a tour. She has a sweet, pleasant voice. She gave so many historical accounts of the family, house, and the surrounding neighborhoods. She is knowledgeable and informative, ready to answer all my questions. Defined recommended!

A rather unexpected journey you'll get !!!
Was scheduling only 30 mins for a short visit, turned out to be an "El Paso History Time Machine Travel Journey". 🤓
First, you'll need to register your visiting at the Visitor Center, they will then play you an introduction video at the lobby of the Visitor Center.
Then they will walk you across the street to the Magoffin House, which was built in 1875, is a combination of the local adobe style combined with Greek revival details and is an example of the Territorial style, while still well preserved.

The El Paso Museum of Archaeology is a compact yet informative museum showcasing exhibits on the ancient history of the Southwest and northern Mexico. The museum boasts an extensive collection of pottery spanning several eras, along with well-crafted dioramas that provide valuable insights into the daily lives of indigenous people in the area from prehistoric times up to colonization by Spanish settlers. Visitors can also take a walk around the building and its surrounding landscape, although it may not be advisable during hot weather conditions.
Small museum, but very informative for the El Paso area. This museum focuses on the indigenous people that lived in the surrounding area from the end of the ice age, through to the Spanish settlers.
I give it five stars for effort, their dioramas, and the hiking trails.

Free. I don’t know how anyone can complain about a free museum that has so many exhibits, and items on loan from other museums as well.
The parking was more than adequate for my own very large vehicle and even a couple pulling a 30’ trailer. Lot was clean, had a little garden, trails, blooming flowers, little birds nesting and all sorts of fun to be had.
The exhibits range from inclosed glass cases to full on shelters ranging from the lithic period to more modern adobe examples used used by indigenous peoples right up to today. Lots of their baskets, beads, tools, weapons, art, etc.
Bathrooms are super clean to an impressive level.
Staff is very helpful and friendly.
While it’s free, donations are excepted, although, there not gonna state at you until you give lol, their way to laidback for such things.

The El Paso Municipal Rose Garden is well structured and well worth a thirty to sixty minute visit. The garden is multi-level, enclosed with fencing, Cyprus trees, and shrubbery, and fitted with root canopies and fountains. What a great venue! If you live in El Paso, other than the Sun Bowl, this is the largest building for events.
Watch the movie Glory Road to understand the incredible history of Don Haskin center. UTEP was once known as Texas Western.
Highly recommend you to go, gives you something to do in a small city. Basketball games are entertaining, they put on a great show.

This review is about the venue and not the show. I was so disappointed. Family and I paid decent money for our tickets. 80+ dollars may not be much money for some but for some one on a fixed budget it's a sacrifice. We were having a great time ...had a great view when a third into the show the group in front of us had a plus one with no ticket. Meaning the row was full but this rude person made herself fit. Why does that matter to me?? Because they totally blocked our view from that point going forward. Nothing was done about it. I don't want if I want to spend my hard earned money on a place where they don't enforce the rules. My family's experience was ruined by this moocher. Everyone with a seat paid good money...why does this one person think she is entitled to sit where they want without paying? What's worse is the people from the venue figured it out and did nothing about it. I won't be attending events at this venue anymore.

An old male Security guard at the east entrance of Don Haskins gave me a choice to either take my wife’s wallets and a small Swiss multi-tool to my vehicle because the wallets were not see through wallets of a specific size and no pocket knives were permitted or place all of the items in the trash.
I missed more than half of the game because I was afraid to leave them in the vehicle and I took them home instead.
I can understand that Don Haskins has the right to list what they want to allow at the games but why don’t they placed a notice or a disclaimer on line before you are allowed purchase the tickets to inform the public of what is permitted and what isn’t?
I never leave home without a Swiss multi-tool, I find it a very useful tool to have at all times.
Ps. You can see on one of the pictures I took, how other people were allowed to enter with not see through bags.

I loved the center, it was my granddaughter's senior graduation. This was very special to me because she's the first grandchild... The facility was huge and I loved the fact they also had screens in the front and in the rear of the facility for closer viewing...

Nice venue. Wide hallways. Clean bathrooms, but they have enter and exit doors that aren't clearly marked. I went in wrong one and got dirty looks! Not sure about parking. We parked on 4 level deck at the bottom of stairs. Not sure what wheelchairs do for parking.
Chamizal National Memorial is a 55-acre park that houses a museum focusing on the U.S.-Mexico border and an amphitheater, along with a visitor center. The museum boasts impressive exhibits that offer visitors insight into the region's rich history. The park's size makes it easy to explore and spot the second international boundary marker situated near the road but away from the museum. Although there were not many people present during evening hours, high school students could be seen touring at rush hour.
Well maintained park with views of the border wall and border crossings into Mexico. The Visitors Center has an informative exhibit and friendly park rangers! Great visit for people new to the area or to bring El Paso visitors.

Excellent visitors center. Very comprehensive story of how the USA and Mexico collaborated. Lovely adjacent park grounds that are part of the memorial. Ample parking.

What a cool part of history preserved by Chamizal National Memorial! With excellent audio-visual presentations along with exhibits chronicling the timeline of this unique border dispute, the National Memorial really explains this unique part of history in a compelling, yet digestible manner. The park staff are wonderful and were so kind with our Junior Rangers and our many questions.
Melissa Raffensperger — Google review
Fascinating, I knew nothing of this border issue and how it was resolved peacefully. Don't forget to walk out the back to see where the border used to be and the Mexican boundary markers (The ranger can point you in the right direction.)

Beautiful memorial that’s part of the National Park System. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, gorgeous grounds, and a view of the bridge to Mexico just outside. Trails are lovely and a great place to picnic.
JETS — Google review
Large beautiful park and monument, commemorating the peaceful resolution of the “chamizal problem”, a decades long border dispute between Mexico and the US. As part of the resolution land was set aside to memorialize the peaceful resolution and friendship between the countries. There is a park with walking trails and also a visitors center/cultural center. Inside is a small but extremely interesting museum about the conflict and the resolution. There is also an art gallery and theater for cultural performances. The park is staffed by some of the friendliest and most knowledgeable and proud park rangers I have ever encountered. As a national monument it is park of the national park service so there is a passport stamp station inside. The outside is also a great place to walk around and the grounds open early for recreation. The park and buildings are impeccably maintained. Highly recommend this monument if you are in El Paso! You will learn a lot and enjoy yourself immensely.

Really wonderful little museum to complement this historic urban park. I was surprised to see such great exhibits.
The ranger working, Danielle, greeted me and introduced me to the exhibits. She was incredibly friendly, helpful, and approachable. I even bought some souvenirs at the gift shop.
The park itself is not very large, so it's easy to walk around and see the second international boundary marker (the one closer to the road and not on front of the museum).
There were not many people here which made for a peaceful evening, but there were quite a lot of high school kids walking through when I arrived at rush hour.

Excellent memorial to the people and the treaty over a border dispute. Wonderful views outside and extremely informative audio-visual displays. The ranger was helpful in showing my son through the Junior Ranger program to help him earn his badge and patch.
This market was a great vist. Close to downtown hotels and events. A family and pet friendly place. Right on the historic part of El Paso near the Mexico border. A good variety of vendors selling handmade crafts and foods. Clean port-a-potty bathrooms, handwashing station and bike rentals all in one place. Try the Two Mex's in Texas dehydrated salsa if they are there. Cool husband and wife team. If you dont already live in El Paso, they will talk you into it.

Lots of fantastic local businesses with some super cute booths and amazing products. Not a huge market, so there's not a lot of walking. Just a nice cruise up and down both sides of the street. Also saw people who brought their dogs, so that's a bonus. Parking at the Convention Center or any nearby parking you find.

A small Downtown venue that is very nice. Good people. Really friendly and a lot of verities to choose from. Very reasonable and very relaxing place. Go check it out.
Dee Vee — Google review
As far as farmers markets in the area go, this one was disappointing. The location is poorly chosen and the small number of vendors and visitors present reflect that; Union Plaza has been a ghost town for a while. A better location would be further inside downtown, where people can shop not just at vendors but at surrounding businesses and bars/restaurants as well, thus enabling an increased collaborative effort within the local economy as well as a much more immersive experience for the visitor. If you’re looking for a much better farmers market experience, head north to Las Cruces for their Farmer’s & Crafts Market on Main St.

Western Playland is a family-friendly amusement park with a vintage atmosphere that offers traditional concessions, rides, and games. However, the cleanliness of the park needs improvement as there were dirty and sticky tables without any staff cleaning them. The presence of ants was also noticeable in various areas such as on sidewalks and shelves near rides. It's unfortunate to see that the train wasn't functioning properly despite the costly admission fees.
As a family we visit Wester Playland at least once per season. In my opinion this place is best for kids that can ride the big rides, teenagers and above. It can get hot but there are a few shady places to relax in. The food isn’t over priced but the drinks are. The rides are fun and a few new ones have popped up. All in all, fun place to spend a Saturday.
MELISSA OCHOA — Google review
A fun day for the whole family! We went on a Sunday when they opened and didn't have to wait in any lines, it wasn't very crowded and was very pleasant. I have however been after dark on Fridays and Saturdays and there tend to be a lot of teenagers, acting as all teens do and cussing up a storm. Use discretion when taking little ones if that bothers you. Otherwise, fun and reasonably priced with just the right amount of attractions for anyone...kids, adults, thrill seekers.
Gabrielle Rademacher — Google review
I went Tuesday when it opened at 2:00pm. It was fine. Even though it doesn't seem like there are a lot of rides it was quite fun. Definitely go earlier if you don't want to wait for 30 minutes for a ride, cause in the evening a lot of people show up. I actually loved the food they served!
Angie G — Google review
While it may be a smaller themepark than most. It's still such a blast to come here! The rides are all awesome and there is a ride to fit anyone's requirements. I recommend bringing a towel if you plan to get wet and some sunscreen/umbrella s well!

We went for 4th of July and we loved it. My kids loved the rides and I really like that they have the younger kids rides all together in one section. They have some tables for you to sit down and eat. It didn't seem to crowded when we went so we enjoyed it because the lines were not too long and the ones that were long went by fast. Also employees were nice 👍
Cecilia White — Google review
1st time ever visiting this place. Went with a group of friends and took our 5 yr olds. The kids had a blast, the day we went it was windy and there were not many people there so the kids pretty much were able to ride everything they were allowed to. It's. Oh a huge place but I think for the price it's definitely worth every penny. We also had some pizza and it was very good.
Stacy Morales — Google review
It was a fun time. Despite it being so hot, all the tables were dirty or sticky. No staff Cleaning them, there was tons of ants everywhere. In the grassy areas, on side walks, even near the tables, and on the shelves near rides to put belongings. Sad to see the train not working as well. For as expensive as it is to get in and ride, you would think it would be more well kept. They also need to add stuff for smaller kids to do, who don't ride. Splash pad area would be awesome! The mister area was great.
Sara — Google review
Great fun for the whole family, it would be nice if there were more rides, but even with the few rides they have one still finds themselves making memories, the food tastes decent and it's most definitely expensive, but overall it was well. I would recommend people to go and visit Western Playland.
SelfAware — Google review
I was so disappointed. Most of the rides were not working and the ones that were malfunctioned such as the bumper cars. I paid $130 for 4 people to ride all rides plus paid for drinks and pizza in total I spent $200. It was a complete rip off not worth the price or time. Very sad, Western playland used to be a great place and no longer is
Life on the Borderline — Google review
We had a great day at Western Playland because I spent the time with my family.
It costs about $35 per person for entry, and to ride all of the rides.
Unfortunately, all of the roller coasters were out of service with the exception of two, the kiddie one, and the log ride one.
The food is tasty and reasonable. They do not put enough ice into the drink, and then you have a warm soda. I did ask for more ice, but the young man only threw in a few cubes.
They really should install cooling stations with sprinklers because it gets extremely hot walking around. I know they do their best to “control the weather” but misters sure would help like some amusement parks around the country do.
I also recommend more benches and lighting into the bathroom entrances. It is completely dark, and difficult to differentiate between the male and female bathrooms.
We left as soon the mosquitoes started attacking us, which was about 9 pm.
SylC — Google review
Is an excellent place, just the open hours are very few.
Also the bumping cars half of them were not working and the lady that was in charge of that area has a zero interest in helping people not choose the non working carts, a lot of them waste their raid in a non working cart. And she didnt care to warn new people those cars were not working.

My family and I had an awesome time here. We came for the Fourth of July celebration. The food prices are ok and the tickets are cheap. The lines are long, but moved quickly.
Rosa Gwin — Google review
Definitely recommend getting there before they open. We stood outside for maybe 10-15 minutes but we got in first and didn't have trouble getting into rides. There was 2 closed, but we didn't plan on riding those anyways. It did get a little packed around 5pm but lines still seemed to go by fast. I was disappointed I had to pay the same amount for me and my husband for my 5 year old and feel the prices were a little high for what is there but we will probably return every once in a while for a fun day.
Hana Oregel — Google review
I went during the last weekend of spring break. It was definitely a mistake to buy the unlimited bracelet. I personally believe that the park has access to know the capacity and the amount of time people would be waiting to get on rides and should of suggested pay per ride. I also want to point out this is a good venue for 16 years old and under.
El Paso Museum of History is an impressive and complimentary museum that offers visitors a chance to explore the history of the El Paso region. The museum features five galleries showcasing 400 years of border life through artifacts, narratives, photos, and videos. A small donation of three dollars is requested but well worth it for such a pleasant experience. One exhibit highlights the struggles faced by Chicanos in El Paso while another displays stunning photographs taken at sunrise and sunset from the area.
I loved this museum. Such rich history and beautiful artifacts. Looking forward to seeing more on my next visit 😊

This free museum is well laid out, airy and spacious with several interesting sets of exhibits.
We spent two hours here wandering around and particularly appreciated the thoughtful and inclusive historical narrative.
There are excellent accommodations for breastfeeding, sensory issues, wheelchairs etc. and staff are knowledgeable and friendly.
I didn’t post too many photos of exhibits so you can discover them yourself, but you will walk away with a thorough overview of the history of the area for all inhabitants. There are areas of focus such as local neighborhoods and Black history. All signage is in English and Spanish with some braille.

The Cielo Vista Mall is a sophisticated retail complex that boasts of two levels of department stores and specialty shops. It also houses a cinema, making it an all-inclusive entertainment hub. Recently, the mall has been bustling with activities as more businesses have opened up to customers. These include stores selling Funko Pops, vintage video games, and sports cards amongst others. The environment is neat and spacious enough for shopping convenience while offering ample parking spaces for visitors' cars.
This is one of the most vibrant and lively shopping malls I’ve been to in years and it is quite an experience to see. There is a great selection of stores and a nice fountain to relax by. Parking can be a bit challenging as this mall is pretty busy. The food court is typical fast food varieties and there are no restaurants really, but El Paso Wing House is delicious if you enjoy wings. The Dillards store is the nicest location I have seen so far, and all of the employees in most stores are eager to assist you in finding whatever you need. A great experience. I’ll definitely be back.

First and foremost the mall itself wasn't bad, I just had a bad experience with one of the booths. On the first floor by the left side of the mall, there is a massage booth and the guy running it was incredibly aggressive with me and my friend. When passing by the guy stopped us and offered us a massage and I declined, then the man would grab my arm and try to force me and my friend to try his massage. We left the mall immediately after and we don't know who to report him to so I decided to post it here in the reviews. I don't mind the booths around the mall and I get that every one has to make a sale but when they get physical that's where I draw the line.

Outdated mall, needs a facelift. The several kiosk vendors are annoying which is why I avoid coming. And fix your escalators! Always broken and looks like an eyesore with the yellow caution tape. You Can find your typical name brand stores but other than that, better to shop online at the comfort of your home.

Went to the mall to get some Christmas shopping done in the evening around 3. Went to the customer service because I needed some gift cards and there was no one there working there. I waited and nothing. So I left and did some more shopping and went back around 430 and no one ever arrived. I checked their hours and lets just say someone was supposed to be there. Super frustrating. I hardly go to the mall, but can't rely on the customer service to buy gift cards at all.

I really like going there but I didn't know you have scam artists at this mall.
