The centrally located Sonoma Plaza is a bustling hub of restaurants, shops, and tasting rooms that is popular for locals and visitors alike. The plaza features 1800s buildings that are lined with lush green space. The centerpiece of the plaza is the Mission Revivalstyle city hall which was built in 190608. Additionally, the Bear Flag Monument marks Sonomas moment of revolutionary glory. The weekly farmers market takes place at the plazas northeast corner every Tuesday from April to October.
Great little square! Had lunch at Mary's and walk the park! The history was really cool, too! Didn't know about any of it!

I've never experienced such community love. Every Wednesday they get together for a community wide "festival" That is held at the plaza. Food trucks, live music, nearby stores attract over 800 people with their lawn chairs. Chairs the main attraction is each other. Folks just sit down and start talking. Enjoying the food and the music. This is what downtown's across America want to look like. Diverse, united, fun.

Sonoma is a great little town. Lots of places to taste wine but expensive. We are used to trying for free and then buying what you like.

Loved walking through the park like setting with all the flowers, benches, trees and beauty of buildings mixed with nature. Surrounding the square is a great mixture of history, wineries, shops and restaurants. A great way to spend the day!

Sonoma Plaza in downtown Sonoma is a fantastic place to visit! It's a beautiful park with a well preserved historical building and lots of shops, wineries and restaurants. You can walk around, eat delicious food. It's a perfect mix of history, culture, and yummy food. There are bathrooms next to the amphitheater. I highly recommend it!

I love spending time at the square. There are a ton of restaurants, bakeries, and shops to occupy your time, plus the square itself is a wonderful place for a picnic. If you're here on a Tuesday night there's also a fun festival with a street food and music!

Always a good place to visit. The roses were blooming and there were a few ducks in the duck pond. I love to get a coffee and a pastry at the Basque Bakery and then sit in the park. The Mission looked beautiful today, too, with lots of poppies in bloom.

Visited this Plaza recently. Although I'm not sure I would call it a plaza because it's really a small kind of downtown historic area. There were so many options for food, ice cream and quaint little stores. There's a beautiful Park located directly in the center where I saw people laying in the grass and reading, children playing in the park, people walking their pets. It was very well-maintained and a beautiful place to visit. The weather was just amazing and it just allowed for such a great little visit. There's a tiny little water area that had Turtles and birds. Everything about the visit was just great. Would absolutely recommend for a visit!

If you like historical sites and/or taking pictures you should consider dropping by the plaza. The court house, Presidio, Mission, Blue Inn and Bear Rebellion Statue are all right there. The General Vallejo Home and Train Depot Museum are within easy walking distance of the square. Presidio has nice displays. Mission has some displays, a chapel and mission paintings from the 1800s. The Square has lots of shops and eateries. Went on a Friday in April and place was busy. Imagine weekends would be pretty packed.

Really good square, on Tuesday from 5-8 they have the farmers market and live music/food trucks/stands. Fun experience if your visiting during the week. It is very quiet and most spots around don't open until 11am.

Sonoma is a beautiful town in the Valley of the Moon, just over the hills from Napa Valley. It is one of California's best wine regions. The center of the town is old and beautiful, with a green central park surrounded by shops, restaurants, wine tasting rooms, a theater, and more. There are some historical places of interest right in the center of town: the Sonoma Mission, and Presidio of Sonoma where the Mexican army gave up without a fight in the Bear Revolt to claim California for the US. There are many great wineries in Sonoma Valley, with an emphasis on zinfandel. A visit to Jack London State Park is recommended.

I have lived in sonoma for 37 years and the plaza is always welcoming and beautiful. There is something for everyone there. Great food, parks, and even a free daddy day care (town square). Great place for the family or a getaway with friends.

Summer // Tue Night Farmers Market with live music. Charming.
Throughout plaza park goers (couples, families, small groups) gather- laying out blankets, chairs, some with their own mini picnic tables, others go all out decorating with e-lamps, flowers. Pack picnic food/wine or enjoy pop-up food/beverage vendors or grab “to-go”from local restaurants on square. Also lining plaza are pop-up stands: Farmers market produce, jewelry, soap, local crafts, etc. Relaxing Tuesday summer night in wine country.

My favorite place to go put of the city also if you have friends visiting town it’s the best place to go and with kids too!
You have so many options to eat, wineries close by, also places that sells wine, ice cream, shopping and more!
The plaza it’s an amazing place they also has parking around the plaza and for me every time I go there it’s easy to park.

This plaza is nice. Inside the "square" / plaza there is a park with pond and there are ducks during our visit...don't know if they are there all the time. There are two playgrounds. The playground we were at has sandy ground..be prepared the tiny feet to track those sand inside shoes/socks 🫣 lots of shops and boutique. Nice and clean bathroom behind the historic building. Please support the boutique to keep them afloat.

A short drive from Santa Rosa through the beautiful wine country, my wife and I made it to our destination at a store in the Sonoma Plaza. It was a great weekend excursion that even a rainy day could not dampen. The square has many shops and restaurants to explore. There were many people enjoying the day and parking was not too bad. Alot of people were walking their dogs there and
Pets and people were all having a spectacular experience.

U mostly only go through it for the ice cream shop, and Pokémon GO but, is it really pretty place, volunteer opportunities and amenities, it can get super crowded. There's never enough parking and I advise against going there at night. Unless you're a drinker.

Buena Vista Winery, established in 1857, is a historic landmark and the first premier winery in California. It is located just five minutes from Sonoma Plaza and has been reimagined by Boisset Family Estates. The estate offers various tasting experiences, picnic grounds, wine caves, and a tool museum that showcases the history of winemaking tools. Visitors can enjoy a Wine Museum Tour and Tasting which includes exploring the history of winemaking followed by tasting current release wines.
We had a wonderful experience doing the barrel tour, Nick, our guide was incredible and really made the entire experience spectacular. He was interesting, funny, and knowledgeable. Thanks to him we bought way too much wine but will be sure to enjoy it!

A unique tour and tasting experience, hosted by a very talented actor portraying the winery’s founder. So much great history and so many interesting stories. Sure, it’s a more “commercial” experience than you’ll get at the smaller wineries, but they do it well. Enjoyed touring the exquisite grounds and beautifully decorated tasting rooms. Oh, and the wines were enjoyable as well!

This is five stars for the venue and service itself. It's a historic piece of property with so much to look at. The service here is stellar, very attentive and friendly. The wines are solid, they aren't my favorite but there are a few that were enjoyable. There's a lot to choose from so you'll likely find something that you can enjoy. We visited as part of a trolley tour through multiple places and this was the best of the ones we visited.

Was happily surprised by my visit a few months ago. When you pull it it feels as it may be a tourist focused winery.
However, as you get settled in you are treated to a nice relaxing experience with good wine and service.

This is an absolute must if you are ever in Napa or Sonoma!
Our tour guide, Don was so personable and heartfelt… It was the best visit we had! We went from laughing, to at one point, having tears in our eyes from the moving stories about the winery and their history.
Not to mention, their wine was very unique, and of very high-quality. If you have ever seen their fun packaging, you would know they make the sheriff wine!
One of the most beautiful locations we visited while in wine country. The outdoor is absolutely exquisite and the inside has so many unique rooms. You’ll think you’re in a movie!
10/10 recommend!

An amazing experience at Buena Vista and even better scenery. Had a private tasting in one of their rooms this afternoon with Don, who was an amazing host and not only a wealth of knowledge for the product, but the history of the winery itself. Do yourself a favor and don't miss this winery on any of your tours around the napa area.

What a beautiful winery! Parking is a little far, but it’s a nice walk. Our host was very nice and informed when we did a wine tasting. All the wine we tasted was delicious and I’m picky. Very unique for being the oldest.

Lovely little vineyard, the staff were very friendly & knowledgeable. I would say you would want to be a member to make the most of this place. There are no fees to join just an obligation to buy a certain amount of bottles every few months. But that membership can get you a number of free wine tastings that can cost around $220 a go. So membership is def worth it, if you’re only within an hour or more drive away.

The two hour barrel tasting tour is a waste of time and money. It is a “themed” tour. Meaning our tour guide was playing the part of the original owner, telling stories of how he came to America and moved across the land to California. What should have been a 10 minute explanation was a one hour, boring experience.
I know he was trying hard but it just did not work. We learned nothing about the wine itself, only how the winery came about.
We only tasted one wine out of the barrel and it was terrible. You do get to taste 5-6 different wines, but they were not that good.
If you really want to go, I recommend doing a tasting at the bar and move on. But, more than anything I recommend to the operators to ditch the theme and top hats.

What a tour! Take the winery tour, not a sit down tasting. This is the oldest winery on the West Coast. The buildings are stone and the caves are fascinating. Your guide will share information with you and can ask questions, but you get to try their wines all along the hour plus tour. They are pricey, but well made and delicious, as they source their grapes from the best areas of Napa and Sonoma.

This was our favorite wine of all of the tastings we had in Sonoma! The grounds were beautiful and very historic to Sonoma Valley. The tasting was amazing as we sampled everything, mostly reds. Although, their Chardonnay was pretty amazing, as well! The Sheriff was our absolute favorite! Such a smooth bold red blend made of Petite Sirah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Syrah, Petite Verdot, Mission and Cabernet Franc. We became wine club members as to be able to continue to purchase the Sheriff. We have Buena Vista available in our state but not the Sheriff. We will be able to enjoy our favorite souvenir of our Sonoma trip well into winter!

5 stars for the property and service! Take time to explore the entire property and various buildings. They have a hedge maze but we ran out of time. Wine is difficult to rate but they have an extensive menu with reasonable prices. We did not like anything on the tasting menu but they let us try a few others and really enjoyed the Syrah. They shipped for $5 flat and our wine was delivered quickly.

This stop was worth it! It’s the oldest winery! Great old building, fantastic history, and loved the service. Eileen was incredibly happy and caring while we tasted wines. It’s free to join their case club so highly recommend going in on a personally selected case with friends or family!
Gun Bun Winery, established in 1858 near Buena Vista in California, is the oldest family-owned winery in the state. Despite its castle-like appearance, it has a relaxed atmosphere and offers a range of wine tastings to suit all budgets. Their wines include Gewurztraminer, chardonnay, tempranillo and cabernet franc.
This place was highly recommended by a friend of mine so stopped by last minute. Blown away by the scenery around the vineyard. Everyone was super cool and we were able to buy a bottle and given a few glasses to enjoy the wine around the winery. The Zinfandel was highly recommended and thoroughly enjoyed. Highly recommend this place!

Gundlach Bundschu is an exceptional winery located in the heart of Sonoma, California. The winery boasts breathtaking surroundings that are perfect for a lovely winery experience. The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and Kent provided excellent service during our visit.
What stood out to me most about Gundlach Bundschu were the distinct wines. Each wine had its unique flavor profile, and it was clear that the winemakers paid close attention to every detail during the production process. The Rose, in particular, was outstanding, and I highly recommend trying it during your visit.
Overall, I had a fantastic experience at Gundlach Bundschu and am already looking forward to my next trip to the vineyard. If you're looking for a beautiful winery with exceptional wines and fantastic service, I highly recommend a visit to Gundlach Bundschu.

What a wonderful winery. I visited here on my honeymoon years ago, and returned for a girls getaway. It remains the beautiful, family-owned vineyard I remembered, but has improved over time with updated tasting rooms and sustainable farming practices. We took the Pinz tour and loved being in the vineyards to hear about the history and the current agricultural practices. It included a wonderful tasting, with wine and food, in a pretty pavilion out in the fields. Highly recommend!

Really underwhelmed but the experience. We called ahead of time to say we were gonna be late and the staff on the phone said that if we were a little outside of the waiting period (30min) that it wouldn’t be a big issue and they’d slot us in to our tasting. The traffic was bad that day so we got there 35 minutes after and the reception was exactly the opposite of what we heard on the phone. They said we completely missed our tasting and the only thing they could offer were some tables outside where you had to walk up a big hill. Instead of the tasting we bought a pretty underwhelming bottle and split amongst ourselves. Feels too big of an operation to prioritize service and quality - either in hospitality or the wine. The kicker were the portable bathrooms. For such a nice place you’d at least expect easy access to a nice bathroom. Won’t be coming here anytime soon.

The staff were great and knowledgeable about the location. Had to visit to to check it off of my mission tours. Been to a dozen missions and they were the 1st ones to mention they had a mission passport book that you can have stamped as you go to the missions. As far as the other missions, it was on the smaller side. No cost since it's a state park.

This mission was very well done. They had lots of historical exhibits, great content, and new fun facts from California’s history. For example, we learned that the Bear Flag Revolt took place in Sonoma right out front which led to California getting the flag it has today. We were grateful that the ticket here also let you get into General Vallejo’s house across town.

This winery is located in a vineyard that pioneers the production of pre-prohibition Sonoma Valley wines. Tastings happen in an old historic hacienda, where guests can enjoy a variety of wines made with minimal intervention. The wine list includes selections of pinot noir and syrah, as well as some offbeat wines like skin-fermented chardonnay.

We just became members recently and visited for the first time this past Saturday. I was greeted by a very friendly brunette woman who gave me a glass of rosé on the spot and invited us in. Could not have been more delighted with our food/wine pairing here! We made a reservation for a Saturday afternoon several weeks in advance, and had great seats under umbrellas outside the hacienda. Our server was lovely, and the food and wine were top notch. The Chardonnay is one of the best you’ll have, as is the rosé! Plus, the food is tasty and light, nothing too heavy but it’s plenty to keep you sustained during wine tasting. We loved the focaccia and the hummus especially!

My partner and I decided to become members at Scribe so that we could visit with friends during a birthday trip that we have planned for December (Scribe has only been accepting reservations from their members since the pandemic). We’ve never tried any of their wines before and joined based off of what we saw in their online wine shop and are we glad we did!
We made a day trip up to Sonoma this weekend in order to celebrate a very long July and pick up our Summer Allocation and from the minute we drove up, we were instantly relaxed. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and full of a variety of plants, and the Hacienda is the perfect blend of historical and modern. Our table was situated on the front porch of the Hacienda, facing part of the vineyard and palm tree-lined driveway and we could not stop obsessing over the view. Our sommelier, Brigitte, was down to earth, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable about the wines we were tasting. Everything we tried was delicious including the huge board of food that came with our tasting! Our favorites were the rosé pét-nat (aka Pet Nasty according to Brigitte), the tomato and chèvre toast, and the corn fritters.
The only complaint we have is that we wish Scribe offered their members some amount of complimentary tastings like a lot of the other wineries do. However, the amount of wine and food provided (for the Hacienda tasting at least) definitely justifies the price per person. We are very excited to continue on with our membership and pay many a visit to the winery!

This was my first time at this winery and really enjoyed the laid back casual vibe. There was outdoor seating with umbrellas. And even though we had just been to a different winery about 15 minutes away and had experienced some breeziness, it was calm and very pleasant at Scribe. They greeted us with pours of Rosé of Pinot Noir and plenty of bites to go along with our wine tasting. I only wish that they had an area where guests could relax and wander on the grass so that we weren’t limited to our seating area only.

Three Sticks is a small, cozy yet fashionable winery. Their adobes are formed like a Spanish village where you have pockets of pretty decor both indoors and outdoors. Our group had the backyard which had lovely lights hanging with beautiful Japanese maple trees. And their pinot was quite marvelous.

Three Sticks is one of those places where I want to take all my friends and family to because they're so amazing but I also want to keep it as my little secret because I'm afraid the place might lose its charm if it gets too popular. While I still love Napa, it's definitely gotten a lot more commercialized and touristy over the years so we've been looking for a new place to call it our new home base..and this is it! Three Sticks has everything I was looking for in a club membership: phenomenal wine, people, and venue. I don't need to go into depth about how delicious their wine is because they're worth every penny. I've been there twice already and omg the PEOPLE! Julia, Julie, and Kathy were all so welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable - making us feel right at home, and going above and beyond to make our experience so special and memorable. We also loved hearing their stories and perspectives. We are very grateful to have found this little gem and so exicted to try their next release!

We visited Three Sticks and loved it. The hostess was magnificent, friendly and knowledgeable about everything from the history to the wine process. Could not say enough about Zoe Colaso. She really knows her wines. What a wonderful time we had. Go visit! Ask for Zoe. She's the BEST

Really nice wines, the tasting could have been better done compared to the others. Go for the wine not the experience

As part of a girls weekend, we visited 3 Sticks Adobe for a tasting. Only a short walk from Sonoma Plaza - very easy to add to your day of exploring. A truly spectacular experience - our hostess was knowledgeable and engaging. We tasted multiple wines, sampled food, and learned about about the growing techniques and why specific wines pair well with specific foods. The Adobe itself was gorgeous - a secluded garden. Highly recommend this experience.

Wow, this is a neat spot. We visited for a tasting as part of a girls getaway and had a great visit. The Adobe is so tranquil and beautiful. Our hostess was funny, friendly, and so delighted to share the wines and answer our (plentiful) questions. Wonderful wine, paired with food samples, discussions of how and why each wines pair with certain food, learning about the soil and geography of the vineyard, all in beautiful surroundings. Highly recommend!

Right across the street from the Sonoma hotel to your right. Easy to miss as it's a little hidden. Inside is nice but the outdoor spaces are very welcoming and peaceful. Tried the cheese plate and all three shades of vino. My favorite was the chardonnay. Bottles are bit pricey but picked one up for 70.00 anyway. I say check it out.

I toured six wineries while in Sonoma last week and this one was my favorite! My husband and I did a tasting in the cottage at the Adobe and it was beautiful! This was the only winery that actually provided cards with information about each of the wines we were tasting. Rob Busson was an AMAZING host! He was very knowledgeable on the wine making process and all of the Three Sticks wines. We loved the wines and the tasting so much that we are now wine club members! I HIGHLY recommend doing a wine tasting here and ask for Rob Busson because he was the best host we had while in Sonoma. He really made the tasting special for my birthday. Thank you!

Although the Sampling rooms are located just off the main town square you enter a zone of tranquility. We went to the Member's area towards the back in a marquee. Helen gave us a great selection to taste. There's no hard selling that I've experienced in other establishments.

We had a private tasting here. It was such a fun experience from the wine tour to the tasting itself. The Chardonnay is a must try and bring home! :)
Linda Grigorik — Google review
Phenomenal tasting, loved that each tasting group gets a personal host. Our host was amazing and knew so much about the wine and vineyards owned by Three Sticks. Would absolutely go back if we end up in Sonoma again. Also, a huge perk is being in walking distance to Sonoma plaza.

We had a wonderful vineyard experience with Rob! He is knowledgeable, professional and personable. The Durell vintage is beautiful! Love Three Sticks wines, both the Pinot and Chardonnay.
Put Three Sticks on your itinerary when you visit Sonoma. You won’t be disappointed.

BEST WESTERN Sonoma Valley Inn & Krug Event Center
Located in the heart of Sonoma, BEST WESTERN Sonoma Valley Inn & Krug Event Center offers guests a relaxing stay with free Wi-Fi and an outdoor pool. The on-site spa offers a steam room and a spa tub, as well as free parking.
My overall opinion of facility is one of definite appreciation. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I only had the opportunity to stay for one night but definitely like to stay there again. The hotel is a little older and all the rooms face out onto a balcony. Some have balconies themselves that face into the quadrangle. Despite the age of the facility, everything worked just as it was supposed to. There are plenty of towels in the rooms and the beds are extremely comfortable. They provide an extremely good breakfast even though it is simple fair. It is fresh and hot of the coffee is excellent. All of this is available in the lobby.

The room was fine, the price was fine, and the location was great.
The breakfast was disappointing. We've been to Best Western's recently and had a wonderful breakfast. This was continental style, far below what one would expect in a Best Western.
When the jam is limited to mixed fruit or grape, you know the score.
The lady monitoring the breakfast was awesome, friendly and helpful.

Overall, a solid stay -
Not super fancy but pretty good, had its pluses and minuses.
Plus side: location!!, jetted tub in the room, good sized room. Whole Foods across the street was perfect to grab a few snacks and local bath salts for the tub. Short pleasant walk to the plaza/square with tasting rooms, restaurants, nice scenery. These advantages were really awesome.
On the other hand, the hotel felt very basic, but most importantly I wasn’t a fan of the shampoos, etc and the pillows were the worst ever! Ouch! My neck was NOT happy. On balance, it was reasonably priced for an excellent location, felt safe and clean, so would recommend - if you bring your own pillow.😂

This hotel is conveniently located close to Sonoma's center. The room we stayed in was spacious and clean, and the bed was pretty comfortable. The breakfast options were mediocre, and it was disappointing that they offered prepackaged breakfast sandwiches and burritos instead of freshly-prepared breakfast items. The bagels and muffins seemed to be fresh and local, though. There is no gym, though they advertise one on their website. There was also a loud man who was possibly homeless and very disturbing circulating the parking lot of the gas station right next door.

This hotel is perfectly located to park and walk everywhere! The pool and hot tub area along with each room having a balcony is lovely. I will say, though the rooms are nice, the bathrooms (specifically toilet/tub area) could stand to be updated.

Went above and beyond what I would normally expect from a Best Western. Location is in easy walking distance from anything you might need, as well as downtown shopping. Rooms were spacious, clean, and cozy. I especially appreciated the fireplace after we did a late night hut tub excursion. Staff was friendly and helpful, and we really liked the in house specialty coffee drinks. If I had one complaint, it would be the continental breakfast being somewhat lackluster, but its perfectly fine if you are just looking for something to grab and go.

Excellent hotel, comfortable and spacious room, central location close to many restaurants, shops, art galleries and wine tasting cellars in Sonoma. There is a Whole Foods market right across the street. Overall, a very good experience. Highly recommended.

despite the great reviews, I can can guarantee you that this place is a dump. Very dark outdated rooms dingy with no light. Not a USB port to be found. Not a supplemental plug-in for any devices. The carpet seems a little scary. The bed is basically caved in and not comfortable. it's disappointing that we can't rely on
The reviews to be objective, and honest. In short, every corporation with their name associated to this property should be ashamed. I've heard that some of the rooms have undergone refurbishment and are OK. Mine should be condemned.

So my husband and I got the king bed with fireplace and balcony or patio. The room was very clean, and the bed was super comfy. The sliding door patio led us right out to the pool/hot tub/sauna. The location is within walking distance to downtown sonoma and across the street from a shopping center. The staff was welcoming. We highly recommend the Best Western!

Beautiful hotel and really lovely, spacious rooms. Very pet friendly with a dog walking trail right to downtown. The hot tub was a little rambunctious and loud. Children should not be allowed in the hot tub, even with parents. Overall... we loved it!

The location and price point of this hotel is ideal. And the staff was wonderful! They were friendly and helpful. The courtyard is a great area to sit and enjoy coffee, tea or a drink. I was pleasantly surprised. Our room was clean and comfortable. They are dated but they were clean and just what we needed.

Great find in the heart of Sonoma. Clean, safe, easy. Walking distance to shops and some of the best restaurants you can find. Beautiful courtyard on the hotel's interior. Simple, easy breakfast. Coffee and cold and hot water are available all the time in the lobby. Will stay here again.

For the price, this place is more than fabulous! Loved the fireplace in the room, heater timer in the bathroom, and the beautiful courtyard. The fire pit and hot tub were enjoyable, and the breakfast was simple but great!
Easy walking distance to the square. Great little spot!

A great little gem just off the Sonoma square with a path going right to the square. Spacious rooms have a balcony and fireplace. Very clean. The lovely courtyard is heavily planted with a pool, hot tub and patio to enjoy your hot breakfast. Taking into account how affordable it is, I highly recommend this inn.
Casey Carter — Google review
The location was very good, room newly renovated and clean but expensive considering things overall. Just felt that the high price was due to the location, and did not get value in the room. It was hard to find parking, hard to get to the room via the narrow and not well placed stairways, heater a bit weak and noisy, lack of a counter top in the shower/toilet area, hated the coconut scent of the argra (sp?) amenities, which I suspect tended to attract insects outside, and breakfast was a disappointment, Extended Stay does better in that regard. Check in was rather arcane, required more paperwork to get a parking permit and saw one guest have to go back to her car to get her partner's ID. Finally, when the cleaning people start work (far too early), makes it harder to navigate the already narrow walkways. I was cold so, it was nice to be able to fire up the provided fire log. Balcony was nice but did not have any view of the pool due to the tree right in front blocking everything.
Mario Marik — Google review
Listen, you aren’t booking at the Ritz so don’t expect that. But if all you need is a clean room to lay your head at night, this is your place! Rating 5 stars for the stay doesn’t mean this is a 5 star hotel it means it’s 5 stars for what it’s advertising and meeting my expectations for that. The hospitality crew were so great! We enjoyed the nightly fire, hot tub and quick breakfast each morning. We basically slept and got ready here and it was perfect. It could use a little deep cleaning and maintenance (I didn’t see the remote for the heater unit and when I opened the control panel the cover to the filter fell off and the filter was really dirty) but nothing overly concerning! And our room was clean and bed made when we came back. We loved the location too! Really central to everything and easy to walk to various places.

Great place to stay for the price.
Cheapest around Sonoma, so that’s why I booked a night here. The room had so many windows. Didn’t get to use the pool but it looked nice!

This property is small and quaint compared to other Best Westerns I've seen. The back pool area has a lot of vegetation around to give it a garden feel. It is quiet and peaceful around the pool with places to sit and opportunities for shade. They have a decent continental breakfast spread. There were good pastries, a couple bread options, a juice option, milk, oat milk, coffee, yogurt, oatmeal/toppings, and jimmy dean sandwiches and burritos. The rooms are average and do what you need them to do. We would all stay here again.

Really happy with our stay here. We stayed three nights and it was comfortable and quiet. There is a grocery store and CVS right across the road, and it is just a few minutes walk to the town centre. Breakfast is good and doesn't close early. Only real complaints: 1) It was very hot when we were there and the AC had trouble keeping up (it was also loud). 2) Would have preferred a proper coffee maker and a microwave in the room (the little mini keurig in the room didn't work, so we just went downstairs to the breakfast area. Did have a fridge). Would gladly stay again.
The Ravenswood Winery is a highly recommended destination for wine enthusiasts. The knowledgeable staff provide informative tours and tastings of their excellent wines, including Zinfandel from Croatia. Their tasting room offers a quaint and comfortable ambiance with an outdoor sitting area where guests can enjoy full glasses of wine. In addition, the winery has a cool barrel room and small food options available. For those seeking accommodations, there is a charming cottage connected to the vineyard.
Rolled up to this winery at 9:59am. And they were super duper awesome. Got a tasting. Then an extra tasting. Then a small tour. Which was very informative. Who knew Zinfandel plants were so unruly. And from Croatia. A few bottles on tour. Nice, cool barrel room. Friendly folks. Some small food at the tasting room.

Excellent customer service. The staff was beyond polite and treated us as friends/family. I did wish the tasting included more than just the Zinfandels but it was interesting to see how different the wine tasted with the same grapes but from different regions. The prices are fantastic and the product is delicious.
Repris Wines, a winery that requires reservations, is a remarkable place to visit. The location of the winery is stunningly beautiful and the facility itself is well-appointed with a unique and enjoyable tasting structure. The wines are made with love and have an interesting story behind them. Visitors will be treated very well by knowledgeable staff who can answer questions about the wine-making process while providing an informative yet casual atmosphere.
I had an absolutely grape time at Repris Winery, and it’s all thanks to Ryan, our host extraordinaire! Not only was he as smooth as a fine Cabernet, but his knowledge about the wines left me swirling with delight. His humor was as bubbly as a glass of champagne, making the tasting experience a barrel of laughs. Cheers to Ryan and the team at Repris for a corker of an experience! Five stars all the way! 🍷🌟

Found this gem by doing a little research and we were NOT disappointed. The drive up is breathtaking (would love to see it in the dead of Spring) but still a nicely appointed facility with a unique/fun tasting structure. Luis treated us very well and we were able to taste some truly remarkable wines that have a labor of love story behind them.

This is one of the best tours I've ever had. The views and wines were both exceptional and Ivan was a brilliant host. I was glad to see and hear about the ways they use sustainable practices and wildlife management in producing their wines. Highly recommend.

Tucked away from the main roads, Repris provided a serene escape where the focus is solely on creating exceptional wines and providing beautiful places to drink them. The passion and dedication of the people running the vineyard were evident in every aspect of my experience. Upon arrival (and after 3 miles on a one way road), I was immediately captivated by the vineyard's natural beauty. Lush vines stretched as far as the eye could see, and the steep rolling hills added to the picturesque setting. The atmosphere was made even more charming by the presence of Stella, a friendly 15-year-old tabby cat (and the vineyard's resident mouser). Joe took wonderful care of us. Can’t recommend a tasting here enough!

You have got to come here. It was literally the best time I’ve spent with my wife in a very long time. Very casual, informative and defiantly worth the money. Stephen answered all the questions I had before I asked them. He was funny, cool as hell, and really made you feel like you were made to come there. I love Repris and will definitely come back. Please come here. This is one of those “bucket list” items for sure. Thank you Stephen, and thank you Repris!

Absolutely beautiful location and tour. Our guide was great. Only bummer was that none of our tastings were comp'd even though our group purchased around 15 bottles. The brochure stated that only tastings would be comp'd with a membership - although other wineries state this, and still comp tastings.

This place is exceptional. Very well planned tasting with beautiful views, an ATV ride through the vineyards, and cave tour. The wine is fantastic as well. Ryan was our host and is very knowledgeable. The best tasting experience we have had to date.

I wish I could give this six stars. Not only was the wine some of the best we tried during our visit, but the tour was amazing. We took an ATV to the middle of the vineyard for a taste while we learned about the property and history, then went into the caves for a further tour and finished with a tasting with a delicious charcuterie and cheese plate. Our tour guide was outstanding and full of personality. The best experience of all week!

This was the first winery of our trip and one of our favorites. Stunning views as you drive up to the property and more to enjoy during the tour, with several stops including a little stop to a look out point, a tour of some very cool caves, and finishing on top of the building with 360 degree views of the property. Grant was our highly engaging tasting host, a lot of fun to chat with about both the wine and the colorful history of the land. The wines themselves were one of my favorites across the trip and the charcuterie was generously sized and delicious. Highly recommend!

Loved the winery and the tasting tour. Beautiful grounds and expanding with a nice rooftop area and the caves were awesome. And the old style Bordeaux’s and Rhône’s were exceptionally done.
Larson Family Winery is a delightful stop in wine country that offers an enjoyable experience. Upon arrival, visitors are greeted by three friendly Labrador dogs of different colors who escort them to their seats outside. The winery has a warm and welcoming ambiance and serves a delicious flight of wines along with cheese. Visitors can relax and enjoy their food and drinks at the comfort of their seat away from everyone in the back corner while enjoying great service from Claudia.

“Wine god” took care of us. A refreshing hidden gem that is the exact opposite of stuck up. Really laid back and friendly with some pretty decent wines. Loved the combination of shading and sunshine. The vibes were immaculate with some easy going jams playing in the background and property dogs roaming around (people friendly). Would def come back. Felt more like a Paso Robles country side vibe than a seen-and-be-seen valley vineyard.

Loved it. We signed up for early tastings. We were the first to arrive and we're immediately greeted by these three most friendly labrador dogs of three different colors. They escorted us to a man who greeted us warmly and gave us a quick run down then told us to sit anywhere we liked outside. The dogs then escorted us to our table outside, only asking for pets as reward then plopped on the floor in the sun to nap. We were then served a delicious flight, really enjoyed the experience and the wines

This is a great place to go for an afternoon of wine tasting. It's family friendly, dog friendly, and probably the most unpretentious winery in Northern California. The wines are great and the staff is super friendly. Spent the afternoon there today listening to live jazz and taking pictures.
Update: They reopened a few months ago after a fire early in the year burned the tasting room to the ground. There is currently no tasting room, but they are planning to rebuild one. They have somewhat expanded their outdoor tasting area and can seat quite a large number of people outside.

My husband and I recently visited Larson’s Family Winery and our expectations were truly exceeded. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this place was committed to creating a family-friendly and pet-friendly environment. Which is sooo difficult to time in Sonoma or Napa. The staff went out of their way to accommodate our little boy and our dog. Bob was incredible, not just with his wine knowledge, and winery history, but just a great human being in general. Such a great experience with the beautiful views and great wines! We stumbled upon this winery after another place turned us away because we had our 10 month old with us. We called ahead to Nicholson Ranch to see if it was okay to bring our son to a tasting and spoke with Mike. He was extremely friendly and welcomed us with our son. Once we arrived, Liam led our tasting and was so knowledgeable and helpful. The wines are fantastic but the staff made the experience so enjoyable! We came as new guests and left as wine club members thanks to the phenomenal staff and the best Pinot Noir!

Wonderful setting with an authentic, vintage outtake on wine making as a whole. You'll get best of both worlds from the renowned Cabernets of Napa County, with the depth of Sonoma Countys Pinot Noir.
Deepak has a host of knowledge he is eager to provide. A man with a big and gentle heart whose friendly personality is sure to warm you as much as the delightful wines!
A must for anyone visiting the Napa/Sonoma areas and interested in quite the experience!

The staff was absolutely fantastic, so friendly and informative. You could see how passionate they are about the wines and the farming behind the wines. The wines were also stunning, I personally loved the 2016 Sonoma Valley Pinot Noir, but I was not disappointed with any of them. My recommendation, try to come around sunset, we lucked out and accidentally showed up around that time and were treated to a stunning view that took all my thoughts away except for wow.

I’ve visited Nicholson Ranch twice (once in 2011 and once in 2019) and had a great experience both times. Friendly staff and delicious Old World style wines. We showed up just as they were closing this time, unfortunately, but they were kind enough to give us a free pour of their 2013 Pinot Noir and let us wander around the grounds. Thanks!

We stopped in on our travels, we thought a wine tasting would be a nice way to start our trip to the area. The main road sign states that they are open for tastings from 10-6, we walked in at 3:00pm (on a Thursday.) We did not have a reservation. We walked into the tasting room which had ZERO occupants other than the lady working. The woman informed us that she was by herself and she had a tasting coming in “right now.” There was no one else on the property. After making a sarcastic comment “yeah, it seems busy.” She reluctantly went to offer us a tasting. I was not in the mood to spend $50 for a wine tasting in a place which we were not welcome. The tasting room was hot and smelled like an antique store. I gave a star because the outside area looked cute and cozy. Overall, it was a very disappointing unwelcome experience. I can not speak on the wine, it may be great? We didn’t get a chance to find out.

We LOVE Nicholson Ranch. The property is very beautiful and really has that family-owned feeling. Perfect place to spend a couple hours sipping great wine and enjoying the views of the vineyard. Both their Chardonnays and their Pinot Noirs are great. They also have some Merlots and Syrahs. Everyone that works there is very friendly and knowledgeable. We came here close to closing. The gentleman who helped us was very kind offering insights into the types of wine Nicholson has available as well as food in the area to try. I haven’t been here during the day but friends of mine have. This place is perfect and the scenery is great during the day. We tried multiple wines, all of them were great. I highly recommend this place for a group or a small group of people.

If you want a really nice tasting experience, with a very nice service and conversation, this is the place. Not crowded, not fancy but very lovelly. I would liked some snacks to the menu. Other than that, an amazing experience.

The Nicholson Ranch winery is a quaint little winery with beautiful grounds and a very knowledgeable staff. I loved the little greek chapel on the hill and beautiful little pond area for tastings. The patio and personal service was fantastic for our small group, they host large groups both inside and outside as well. The winery survived last year's fires, but the main house had been lost to the fire as was a portion of their vines. You could tell owner Deepak has a passion for wine and his staff are knowledgeable, patient, and entertaining. There is plenty of parking available, we had a great time here.
Petroni Vineyard is a winery situated in the heart of Sonoma Valley, California. The estate spans over 50 acres and cultivates various grape varieties using sustainable practices. This vineyard prides itself on producing high-quality wines that reflect the unique terroir of its location. Their grapes are hand-harvested, sorted, and fermented in small batches to ensure optimal flavor extraction.
Sebastiani Vineyards & Winery is a stunning venue that offers ample space for dancing and hosting events. They understand the difficulties associated with event planning and work closely with clients to ensure every detail is perfect, from selecting a venue to finalizing arrangements. The winery's tasting room boasts friendly staff who offer surprising yet enjoyable wines, prompting some visitors to purchase bottles for home consumption. Sebastiani Vineyards & Winery sets a high standard that other Sonoma wine tasting stops struggle to match.
The one winery that kept open during prohibition in the ‘20s. A very elegant place with an incredibly good service and great wines to taste

Not sure why this place has so many good reviews. Yes, the building and grounds are pretty and staff was nice. However, it is a complete waste of money and there are much better wineries in the area. Every wine tasting pour was half of the standard amount. Got about 1 1/2 sips of each wine. Also, they pour all 6 wines in the same wine glass without ever cleaning it...gross. For a Sonoma winery they should at least be switching your glass when going from whites to reds. For this area I expect much better. Reached out to them about my experience and they never got back to me.

We dropped by the Sabastini Winery and while we didn’t have an appointment or reservation, sat with a bottle of their delicious wine and enjoyed sipping and chatting as we took in the ambience of their gorgeous wine tasting bar and dining room

This was our first stop on our Sonoma wine tasting day and we were glad it was first as it set a pretty high bar for all of those to follow. The tasting room was nice and the staff was very friendly. We were surprised by the wines and enjoyed them so much every couple bought a bottle or who to take home with them.

Very good wine with great staff at their tasting room. If you come here I’d recommend becoming a foley food and wine society member and visiting the sister wineries for free tastings and a discount on wines. The foley society wineries are always a good way to entertain friends and family

We arrived at the tasting room without an appointment just before closing. We were not expecting an opportunity for a tasting or even a glass to enjoy outside. Vic appeared from the back and asked if he could help. His courteous and polite approach created a very positive image of the winery for us immediately. He proceeded to pour us each a glass and invited us to sit at a shaded table. This type of customer relations should not be overlooked or undervalued and it was very much appreciated. BTW, the wine is outstanding as well!!

Good wine, although some were not great. Good enough service. Not much was offered in the tasting outside of the menu, which didn’t make me want to purchase any wines or join the club. Nice atmosphere outside of the building.

We may have to revisit Sebastiani at a later date, but based on our tasting yesterday it was just okay. The property is historic and with downtown Sonoma built up around it so there isn't much in regards to views here. There is a nice fountain out front and picnic tables spread all over with nice areas to sit and enjoy bottles. You can bring your own picnice supplies or buy a array of things on site. If you sit outside on the weekend, you must come back in to the bar for your next wine in your flight, pours for the flights are on the small side and tend to be inconsistent. Inside is cool for it's historical value with a fireplace but overly dark and I wouldn't want to be there on a nice day. Wine can be hit and miss. Some good ones, many average ones. I would revisit another time for a redo but as of now it's meh...

My husband and I visited 3 Wineries on 8/20/23 and Sebastiani was the first and best. We were greeted by Frank who gave us a tour and tasting that was above and beyond our expectations.
Frank led us through the cabernet experience with anecdotes and stories for each wine. He was knowledgeable and friendly, and had a true passion for the product.
We highly recommend visiting Sebastiani and working with Frank!

One of the oldest wineries in Sonoma which has that captivating historical feel and is certainly one of the most important destinations for tourists to immerse yourself into the history of Sonoma County’s winemaking culture.

Been a winery member for years. I’ve also been to the winery many times. However, I cancelling my wine membership as their customer service as become worse and worse under Foley Wines ownership. One should not have to struggle when attempting to order product. Lack of response to inquiries is also a regular thing.

Sad to give them a poor review as a club member of ten years, but service has gone downhill. The staff used to be one of my favorite parts of Sebastiani, so knowledgeable and friendly. However on our latest visit, the staff member serving us spent more time chatting with colleagues than helping our table (at least 25 mins between pours, making us late to our next reservation). Additionally when we had an issue with our wine club shipment, we were directed to the corporate email vs anyone actually helping us. So disappointed with a place we used to love.

Hands down the best wine tasting experience I’ve ever had, all because of Damien. He was hysterical, knowledgeable and an absolute delight. Sojourn Cellars is a wine cellar in Sonoma that has garnered high ratings from major wine critics. The cellar sources superior fruit and has a winemaker with a wisely light touch, which has earned them top marks.
What a fantastic wine tasting experience at Sojourn Cellars today. Located right in the heart of Sonoma, just off the square. Lisa’s gracious hospitality and warm welcome made us feel right at home. Their wine portfolio is expansive; from brut sparkling, through still rosé and Sonoma Coast chardonnay, opulent Pinot Noirs and Cabs, concluding the tasting with an exceptional vintage of Beckstoffer Georges III Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Beautifully balanced wines with a soft touch and just a whisper of oak. Lisa took fabulous care of us from the moment we arrived until the moment we left, including farewell photos of our group. I can’t wait to return. Cheers! 🥂

Despite all things COVID-19, we had a wonderful tasting experience here. They had the table set up outside, ready to go (even with hand sanitizer!). Our concierge Lisa was incredibly nice and knowledgeable; a great conversationalist! We tasted 3 of their delicious Pinot Noir offerings, a Chardonnay, and one of their amazing Cabernet Sauvignons. The experience, and the quality of the wine, was so incredible, I ended up becoming a member of their club. Looking forward to enjoying more of their wines, in the years to come. Thanks Sojourn!

Note that this is not a winery on a vineyard. Sojourn (pronounced SO-jern) Cellars is a boutique in downtown Sonoma. If you’re looking for the beautiful vineyard experience, this ain’t it. If that’s not that important to you, then this is a great option for wine tasting!
We called ahead to make reservations for a party of 2. They had availability the next day. We were 1 of 2 parties at our 11:30 am tasting on a Thursday. It was a very intimate experience. Jennifer was our sommelier and she did a great job of tailoring her explanations to our level of understanding of wine (which is not very high). The tasting was $35 per person. You pay ahead of time.
She asked us to take a look at the menu and see if we were okay with all the types of wine they were offering. If we didn’t want chardonnay, she would’ve given us a different pinot noir. Very nice touch. We decided to keep the menu as is though. We liked all of the wines we tasted! The pours aren’t very generous though.
She didn’t pressure us to buy any bottles at all. It’s not expected, but a $10 tip is appreciated, especially if you’re not buying any bottles.
It was a good experience and certainly cheaper than other wineries.

Located near the town square in Sonoma in a little white house sits the tasting room for Sojourn Cellars. Prior to our visit I had only tasted their Oakville Cabernet and was impressed enough to book a tasting for four. It was raining (yes raining) on the day we tasted, so on arrival we needed to rush from the parking lot to the tasting room. A little damp we were escorted to our table and told our wine educator, Christine would be out in a moment to begin our tasting. Christine arrives and introduces herself as coming from the Paso Robles wine region. We tell her we love that area and she asked us what is our favorite winery? Without hesitation I say "Epoch" and she remembers serving us during our visit in 2021 (see my review on Epoch). We find this outstanding as she notes what table we sat at and also what wines we liked. That is a talent! Christine introduced us to the Sojourn portfolio which included Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon all representing different vineyards. The wines presented were gorgeous and our time with Christine very educating. My favorite wines were the Oakville Cabernet and Durell Chardonnay in which I purchased to go. My sister-in-law was so impressed she joined the wine club. We visit many wineries each year and Sojourn is definitely a standout. Worth a visit? It is 5 stars in my book.

In A Nutshell:
-Sojourn Cellars is a nice, convenient wine tasting spot in downtown Sonoma.
-It's reservation only, so please contact to arrange a tasting.
-The outdoor seating arrangements are very comfortable.
-You get to try 5 different wines (mostly their specialty which is pinot noir) along w/ a pairing (if you opted for that).
-I suggest ordering the pairings b/c the wines pair very good w/ the cheeses.
-Everything is local to include the cheese, which is supplied across the street from Sonoma Cheese Factory.
-The customer service was very good, highly knowledgeable & friendly.
Overall, if you don't want to drive too far to the vineyards, Sojourn Cellars is a great place to do some wine tasting!

I have purchased wine for myself several times for myself and was very pleased with the excellent wine quality. Subsequently, I ordered gifts for friends and colleagues on special occasions, shipping all over the US. It always worked well until a Christmas gift 2022 was delivered to the wrong place. The actual recipient never received the package and whoever received it obviously enjoyed a windfall of very fine wine! I contacted customer service and they were just wonderful, immediately resending a package, which was this time delivered into the right hands. The customer service is really excellent at Sojourn Cellars. They are always friendly and do exactly what they promise. I can't compliment them enough. The way they handled this situation makes me a long term customer for sure. Did I mention that the wine itself is superb?
The Donum Estate is a winery in Sonoma that requires reservations to visit. It boasts a sleek tasting room and beautiful gardens, as well as an extensive collection of sculptures. The vineyards provide grapes for their expressive pinots, including the standout 2013 Carneros Estate Pinot Noir, which is spicy and structured.
I feel bad writing this review because this place is such a hidden gem in the Carneros hills, and it feels like such a secret that is too precious to share with others!
The wine and service here are top notch. Spendy, yes, but nothing compared to far inferior wines of the Napa Valley area that fetch higher price tags. Every tasting experience I have had here has felt personalized and incredibly special.
And the art collection, it’s truly a marvel. Come for the wine, stay for the art, or come for the art, stay for the wine.

A luxury experience of a lifetime! After touring the many wineries in Napa, we ended with one of the most rememberable and delicious experiences at Donum Estate.
The arrival experience from the private drive to the breathtaking large scale sculpture by famed artist Jaume Plensa does't even prepare you for whats to come. It just has you in awe.
After you park the car and begin walking toward the entrance of the sophisticated yet modern tasting room, you are greeted by an expert wine director starting your experience with a warm welcome and a glass of wine. John Accardo was welcoming and set the tone for an exceptional afternoon.
Upon entering, the minimalist interiors highlights a few pieces of the collection. John escorted us to what we would soon realize was our own private tasting room. As we stepped into the room, shade automatically unveiled a 180 view of the vineyard and one of the collections large scale installations. Our table was preset with glassware, our small bites, florals as well as a personalized menu with our name on it.
John took us through our tasting of prize pinot's with conversation that was relaxed, informative and most importantly, unpretentious.
After the tasting, John took us on a tour of the art peppered among the property with the vineyards as the backdrop. His knowledge of one of the most impressive art collections in the world is only surpassed by his knowledge of wine.
Don't miss out on Donum Estates. A must each and every time you visit Napa.

DONUM ESTATE VIBES - 🍲 🖼️ 🐑 🍷🌅
Donum was THE most unique wine tasting experience we’ve had!
BREAKDOWN
- FOOD: Outstanding food from Chef Fiorella Butron of the Allikai group. We traveled the world in a plate of small but deeply satisfying bites. From ceviche to pho to mole beet purée, the flavors were delicious & each bite left you wanting more
- ART: Enjoying one of the largest accessible private sculpture collections in the world. The crouching spider was dynamic & breathtaking. The vertical panorama pavilion was an awesome homage to the weather patterns of Carneros. So many unique & thought provoking pieces of art. One could spend days taking all that in
- WINE: Silky & elegant Pinot Noirs representing Carneros, Russian River & Anderson Valley. Y’all know I love my Carneros Pinot Noir & the one 2020 Carneros Estate Pinot Noir had everything I love. Fruit, earth, & funk all brought together by elegant tannins with judicious use of oak. The Chardonnays were deliciously crafted as well. The attention to detail is noticeable & as a bonus all vineyards are regenerative organic certified 👏🏾
- BONUS: A 🔥🔥🔥 playlist (Heard some Kaytranada & Galimatias while tasting), sheep (My boo LOVES animals), & great hospitality from John 👏🏾

One of the best tasting experiences, ever. Those words are thrown around a lot these days but I say them here without hyperbole, for this place is truly just that - an experience. The wines (Pinot and Chardonnay) are exceptional, finely crafted and elegant. But the grounds, the art, the sheer thought that went into everything... it must be (you guessed it) experienced.
Patz & Hall Winery is renowned for its elegant and refined Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs, made from grapes grown in single vineyards. The tasting experience at the winery is trendy and stylish.
showed up unnanounced, with 6 kids, we were welcomed like we were royalties, the host, Greg, is an incredible person, extremely knowledgeable, great sense of humour, patient, dedicated, he loves what he does and it shows.
the wines we tasted were seriously outstanding, we had a private room, the decor is simple yet amazing, even if we came in during winter we had one of the best day of our trip at the winery, they make great wine, i know we left with 14 bottles. if you have one spot to visit, go see them and if you are lucky, Greg will be your host.
amazing people, amazing place can only equals to amazing wine

The winery is on a beautiful spot of land, and the outdoor wine tasting experience was accompanied by a knowledgeable host (shoutout to Greg!). Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are their main varietals, and they've been focused on those for quite awhile. If you don't like those flavor profiles, likely do not go for a tasting.
As a visitor to Napa/Sonoma, and someone perhaps less educated in the space, I was disappointed to be tasting grapes not directly from Patz & Hall's vineyards. Instead, Patz & Hall sources from vineyards around the greater Sonoma area - and Greg was gracious enough to show us where on a map!

The worst tasting experience I've ever had. With this winery's high acclaim in the wine industry I am extremely disappointed and would recommend to anyone to never visit Patz & Hall. The estate and tasting room are absolutely gorgeous, but the tasting experience itself was so boring....and that's putting it nicely. The tastings were expensive, which is somewhat understandable considering the price point of the wine, but we only tasted four wines and the pours were the smallest I've even been given at a tasting. Our pourer, Michael, was so monotone and stale. It was like sitting through a 45 minute Ben Stein Clear Eyes commercial. Actually, that would have probably been more entertaining. The entire time he kept trying to sell us on how good the wine is and how we should buy lots of it comparing it to the stock market and that it would be such a great investment. First of all, know your audience, why the long continuous pitch that wine is like the stock market and we should "invest". This is an absolutely terrible way to sell people on your wine. Second, why are you trying sell us so hard even before the actual tasting begins. A history or background is fine, but Michael was literally telling us we needed to buy the wine before he poured our first glass.

I'm giving them 5 stars because the place is gorgeous and the wines are good. If you're looking for an intimate tasting experience, you'll enjoy it. We prefer to have some explanations but mostly to sit and enjoy the wine by ourselves. It was a little too intimate for our taste.

Top notch hospitality experience! From the time of confirming the reservation to the time we arrived, I was already sold. Once we stepped foot inside the staff was super welcoming and the tasting experience was tailored to our individual tastes, which made it so much better.
The winery is just the right size which allows for an intimate tasting experience, but also lends itself to cater to larger groups (COVID permitting) to enjoy an afternoon. It is a converted estate, that was almost tailor made to entertain.
They have a variety of Chardonnay, Pinots, Sparkling, and Rose. So it should not be hard for everyone in the group to find something that they like in the lineup. If you are concerned about prices for the wines, they are in line with similar wineries of this caliber in the area.
We will definitely have to make this site a regular stop of ours on our north bay excursions, and recommend you do the same.

Stop in for a tasting of current release or library selections, or, for a more elevated experience, reserve the Root 101 tasting that features five single vineyard pinot noirs (spanning over 1,000 miles) with pairings from the nearby The Girl and The Fig restaurant.
Elan gave us an exceptional tasting experience! We did side by side tastings of Pinot noir and he gave us some great knowledge on the differences that make each of the wines unique. We very much enjoyed our wine tasting with grant this afternoon in Walt Sonoma. I came here with my wife and her mother. He had a way of describing the flavors that made me taste them even more vividly. I left feeling like I had learned so much about the wine-making process and the different nuances of each wine. Visited with friends for a wine tasting, tried to walk in but was told there was no space despite there not being any other customers seated outside at the time. Made an appointment for later and came back. They only offer tasting flights, and all the wine is pre poured and left on the table for you with a paper tasting notes menu. I wasn't keen on that as an experience, especially at the prices charged. They also don't allow outside snacks, but don't provide any food offering, not even crackers. On a hot early afternoon, this made it difficult to taste 4 pours plus a complimentary extra. There's better placed to visit I think.

Tastings like these can easily awkward or stuffy, but our host was very nice and easy going making the experience relaxed and fun. All the wines were absolutely incredible and we even were poured a few of the upcoming releases not on the tasting menu. Off menu pours are never expected, but I always appreciate those.

Oso Sonoma is a great restaurant in Sonoma that offers a diverse and creative menu with locally sourced small plates. The ambiance is chill and the service is friendly and attentive. The wine list is sophisticated and the steak tacos are particularly amazing.
Had a birthday lunch here and everything was fantastic! I had the oysters Rockefeller, and the roasted Berry dessert was divine!

The food was good but we had to wait a long time in between dishes. I like the devil eggs and mussels the most. We also had the ceviche, which seems really popular. I overheard many tables ordered it. It was okay but I don't think salmon is a good fit for ceviche.

Wowza. Tasty food. Friendly service on the Sonoma Plaza Square.
Came here after a day wine tasting.
So good.
We enjoyed the delicious braised short ribs, and the shrimp with grits. Perfect.
Cute bar and restaurant bwith rustic/modern decor. there weren't that many people here at 4:30. But. Not surprised. I'm sure it gets busy later.
We look forward to coming here again.

Wow. For some reason I am perpetually let down by highly rated restaurants, but this place not only lived up to its reviews, but blew me away. Unassuming from its outside appeal, this place wowed me from the first bite to the last. The seafood bouillabaisse was to. die. for. Fresh halibut, shrimp, clams and mussels, and you didn’t even need bread, it was incredible. Great cocktails, laid back atmosphere, and quick service were at a discount. Definitely make a reservation and sit out back if the weather is nice too!

What a delicious restaurant. It's right on the plaza and has a relaxed atmosphere with friendly staff and fantastic food. Elevated comfort food. The deviled eggs (topped with crab) were soooo great. And do not miss the moroccan salmon: amazing seasonings and flavors for the perfectly done salmon.

This restaurant was the perfect combination of casual and excellent food! We enjoyed raw oysters, deviled eggs, and Moroccan spiced salmon. For dessert the butterscotch pot de creme was great. The place looks casual, but the food isn't your standard burger. The table next to us ordered the burger - it was 8"+ high. Looked amazing. Go here for a wonderful meal that is excellent quality, without being stuffy. The staff told us they are opening a wine bar next door soon - can't wait to come back and experience that!

Listen up, you Bay Area burger hounds. I've chased down dry, overpriced patties from Marin to Menlo Park, and let me tell you, disappointment is a well I know well. But then I stumbled onto Oso Sonoma in the heart of Sonoma Plaza. Now, this ain't some white tablecloth, pretentious gastropub. This is where the locals go, the kind of dive with chipped floorboards and a healthy skepticism towards kale.
And that's precisely where they get their damn burgers right. They keep it simple: locally-sourced beef, cooked to a juicy, just-pink perfection. No frills, just flavor. The cheese, you can pick your poison – cheddar, fontina, or this truffle jack that'll knock your socks off (assuming you haven't sweated them right off in the Sonoma heat). The bun? Toasted just enough to hold this meaty masterpiece without turning into a soggy mess.
But here's the kicker: the secret sauce. This ain't some mass-produced mystery goo. This is a flavor bomb that whispers of tangy pickles, smoky paprika, and something herbal I couldn't quite place. It elevates the whole damn burger to a symphony of savory goodness.
Now, service ain't usually what gets me waxing poetic, but the crew at Oso Sonoma deserves a shoutout. They're friendly, efficient, and know exactly when to refill your beer without hovering like a tourist lost in Napa Valley.
So, the next time you're craving a burger that's more than just a glorified Happy Meal, head to Oso Sonoma. It's a testament to the fact that sometimes, the best things come in the most unassuming packages. Just don't expect a fancy Instagram backdrop – this is a burger joint for people who appreciate good food, not good filters.

Although the menu is small, it is full of tasty choices. My wife and I split a humus plate and a chicken sandwich. Both were excellent. The only criticism I had was a lack of vegetarian options.

The food! Don’t get me started. Everything they brought out was out of this word. From the bruschetta, to rockefeller oysters, and finally out entree. Everything was spot on. Thank you for making an amazing date night even better.

Sat in the patio with our dogs which was a nice option. Very laid back. Had the mussels in the coconut Thai basil curry broth with bread which was so good I actually had the left over broth packed up to bring home. The deviled eggs with crab amd curry were also super nice.

Oso won me over with its cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. The Braised short ribs plate was a highlight, and the Banshee glass of wine was a perfect pairing. Whether for a romantic date or a quick bite with friends, Oso is my new go-to spot in Sonoma!

We LOVE this place….it would be a destination in itself if we weren’t up here every few months anyway! The mussels are my husband’s absolute favorite and I love the seasonal changes to the burrata appetizer….
The blood orange margarita is amazing too! The past five years we’ve been coming, the owner and chef has been here every time, along with several of the waiters/bartenders, (Steven is great!!) which says a lot! Looking forward to our next trip to Oso!

Sat at the bar here and had a great time watching the magic of food being made. Atmosphere and vibe is great. Service can be a little slow due to being so busy. Overall food was decent. Our appetizers were great - definitely recommend the burrata and baked oysters. The special of the day was a seafood stew, it was pretty delicious but just way salty. The shrimp tacos on the other hand were missing a hint of something that would complete the taste. My friend said the chicken sandwich was okay. Overall good experience.

We visited OSO for dinner while in town for our anniversary. Food and service was excellent! We ordered the Ceviche and Seared Rib Eye for two, plus a couple cocktails. Plenty of food for two. Ceviche was very good. Rib Eye was cooked perfect (ordeerd medium rare), potatoes were crispy and super good. The two of us were not able to finish the dish, but that didn't stop us from trying! Only non positive feedback is the two-top tables are very small.

The bread and flavored butter alone are worth going for. We all kept remarking on how incredible the devilled eggs were. I had the green goddess salad and it did not disappoint — the dressing was fantastic — and everyone in my group was similarly happy with their meal. In short: you will do yourself a disservice if you go to Sonoma and don’t make time to go here.
Located on the east side of Sonoma Plaza, Sweet Scoops Homemade Ice Cream is a charming spot offering a variety of housemade ice cream flavors that change daily. The small batches ensure excellent quality and unique options like decadent chocolate and refreshing lavender honey. Visitors rave about the delicious German chocolate ice cream with dark chocolate, coconut, and nuts. The friendly staff and interesting flavors make it a must-visit for ice cream enthusiasts.
Four scoop flight with a delicious homemade waffle cone! The 4 scoop tiny flight was the perfect after dinner dessert for 2. We added a waffle cone and each picked 2 flavors. Seating was outside on the square in a nice night. We really enjoyed both the ice cream and the cone - the aromas of the cones cooking is also wonderful.

little pricey, but tasty ice cream and the service was friendly and efficient. The flavors on offer today could have been a bit more varied/interesting, but I found some more interesting ones in their freezer, such as this small container of lavender fig.
Also got a cold brew coffee, which tasted okay but seemed a little weaker than most.

We stumbled upon Scops as we strolled around Sonoma. I'm glad we did.
The ice cream texture is dense, creamy, and smooth without any ice crystals.
We were able to taste so many flavors, and each was so good the we could not decide, ao we ordered a 3 scoop flight with butter brickle, raspberry, and chocolate. They were all excellent. I especially loved the raspberry, which tasted fresh and tart and, well, like a real raspberry.

Great local ice cream shop in the center of Sonoma, recommended to us by the locals. Definitely a local favorite. Absolutely delicious German chocolate ice cream, with dark chocolate, coconut and nuts, and I loved the fact they offered a tiny portion - which wasn't really tiny at all by most global standards! Very friendly staff and some very interesting flavours. If I had more room in my tummy, I probably would've had a double scoop with salted caramel too. Great place really, highly recommend.

I tried the Alotachocoleta which is essentially chocolate fudge ice cream - it was nice enough, maybe a tad bit too sweet though!

Tons of unique flavors, and all of the ones I got tasted great. There’s always a line for this place (because it’s so good) but it moves quickly. Also, you can get different sizes and still get lots of scoops: order a smaller size if you want and ask for 3-4 scoops to try more flavors.

The Presidio of Sonoma is a historic adobe building that was used briefly as the command post for the California Republic. The building is now listed as a California Historical Landmark.
So neat! Great interpretive signage and a little movie. Interesting history that was well delivered. The condition of the building is very impressive for the age. The adjoining buildings, an old hotel and dining hall/kitchen, were very well restored.

This place (known as "the Barracks") is worth a walkthrough (and a visit to the shop of course) to get a quick history lesson.
The reason that the STATE flag of California has the wording "California Republic" is that, yes, for a short time in history California was an independent republic, not longer part of Mexico and also not part of the United States. This is where it all happened: the "Bear Flag revolt of 1846" made the city of Sonoma essentially the capitol of California.

Great history and unique experience visiting this place.
The Sonoma State Historic Park is a beautiful and interesting place to visit. It contains historical artifacts and construction from the mid 1800s onwards. The park was founded in 1909.
The Presidio of Sonoma was once very briefly the Capital of the California Republic. No, not the State of California. This was before California was part of the United States. California is one of four states that were independent sovereign nations before joining the United States and you get a bonus point if you can name all four. Answer below.
The Sonoma Barracks aka the Presidio of Sonoma is free to visit and includes a number of rooms with captions and memorabilia that detail the history of the Bear Flag Republic of California, their independence from Mexico and eventually, their joining the Union. The breakaway state lasted from June 14 to July 9 1846, was never recognized by the United States, never formed a government or passed any laws and while Sonoma was the "Capital", it was never official.
There are some docents who can answer questions, an organized tour is available and they have a small gift shop.
(The answer to the question of which four states were independent. 1. California which you already know now. 2. The Long Star State, aka Texas, obviously. 3. Hawaii, of course. 4. And the one most people don't know? It's Vermont who were not one of the original Thirteen Colonies. Independent from 1777 to 1791 though never recognized by any other nations.)

Absolutely LOVED this park. So much history, and so very visually inviting. We had a great docent who explained the whole history of General Vallejo and his contributions to the area and all about his family. Touring his home, it IS very filled with wonderful spirits of his family, was pure delight. Everything was kept in perfect shape and I loved that we were invited in and could share their life the way they lived it. Behind back was the amazing pond with huge turtles in it. I believe it provided water for the area. Not a place to be missed.

This is a really good place to have food. It's one of the best Diner I have been to. It's open space allowing a nice dose of sun and wind to brush along side with the view of mountains and beautiful landscape. The food is really delicious and amazing. It's heavy and one meal is enough for an average person unless you are really Hungry and want to have a big amount of portion. The milkshakes are really tasty and thick.
The staff is super friendly and the waitresses are pretty and really charming. It was fun to come here and have food after visiting the vineyards around. It's usually packed with people. What's not to love! The food is fabulous! Southern home cooking with a twist! Everything that came out of that kitchen looked amazing! I had the chicken and waffles. Good service, cool vibe, decent food. Located right on highway 12 as you ride through Sonoma you'll find this combination of a breakfast diner/smoking BBQ stop. The atmosphere is more like a picnic than a restaurant - the parking lot is dirt as is the outdoor eating area complete with picnic tables, benches, umbrellas to shield the sun, and mason jars for glassware. And what picnic would be complete without the pesky flies? They have those too.
The menu includes an all-day breakfast section along with BBQ sandwiches and some original dishes as highlights. I regretfully selected the poor boy fried chicken sandwich. Sounded like a fantastic use of guilty pleasure calories, but it was overcooked and dry with minimal condiments. I highly recommend the biscuits with the pepper jelly - EXCELLENT! As a matter of fact, I used the jelly on my sandwich!
Enjoy the atmosphere, the view of the surrounding vineyards, and a wise menu selection will seal the deal.

If you go on a weekday, you won't have to wait the long lines you see on the weekend. The ham biscuits are delicious with a cup of coffee. The shrimp and grits with a poached egg are my go-to every time. Other items seen are the chicken fried steak with an over easy egg and an oyster po'boy. Both also delicious but the shrimp and grits are my fave. Last but not least, a salted caramel shake is a must!

We booked the El Dorado hotel on a last minute trip to Sonoma. The location was amazing since it is in the heart of downtown Sonoma. The room was very nice and clean. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. My reason for not giving it five stars is because 1-we had issues with the ac not running in accordance to what we set the unit on at night. We notified the front desk and they offered us a fan which helped. 2- we also had issues getting hot water in the mornings for showers. We called downstairs and was told they turned up the water temperature which seemed to help for a day. After that it took about 10 minutes of running the shower at full hot to get it warm. Aside from those two issues we really liked the El Dorado and would likely stay there again.

Stayed here for 5 days. Loved the room and the attached restaurant was a major bonus. The staff were very accommodating and helpful in giving restaurant recommendations. I really appreciated that the room got straightened up and cleaned during the day while we were gone. The only very minor complaint I had was parking (I still give it 5 stars honestly). They only have a small parking lot in the back, and if that’s full you need to park on the street wherever it’s available. Street parking is free though, so it’s not a big deal. The complimentary champagne when we checked in was also a nice surprise!

Exceptional food! I loved my rib eye steak, and the rest of my group loved their tuna, lamb chop, and pasta. We split a few salads for the table and we also split a few desserts for the table, all of which were excellent. The service was excellent; very personal and we felt like we were really being taken care of. And the atmosphere was lovely! There were fairy lights, it was just the right temperature outside. We wished that they had a full bar, as some of us were tired of having wine by the time we got here, but the wine we ended up having paired well with our food and it worked out.

Roche winery recommended we visit this small restaurant on the main square of Sonoma! Great location Only a block from our b&b. The staff and chefs were incredibly nice and welcoming. The ambiance was warm and the aromas in the air when we walked in assured us that our dinner was going to be delicious! The fish and steak were definitely well cooked and perfectly flavored. Crispness on the fish was impressive. They also sent a pumpkin soup to our table that was a little spicy and so so good! Each dish was flavor explosions!

Everything was delicious. The menu rotates, so just enjoy the day. I did have the buccatoni, shrimp and kale, which was delicious. I recommend you sit out back to enjoy the atmosphere. The service was excellent, and I found myself really relaxed and enjoying the evening with my friends.

Had a large group for which we had beautiful garden seating (do wish there was some warmers outside as it did get down to the 50s that night). Food was delicious. Gnocchi, steak, and lamb ragu were all mouth watering. Service was great.
Ledson Hotel offers elegant, individually decorated rooms with antique furnishings and a wine bar. The team was incredible and offered a great wine tasting. The hotel is located in the town square, only a short drive from Ledson Winery and Vineyards. All staff were pleasant and helpful.
Amazing hotel and experience. The location is perfect to walk anywhere. They have their own private parking in the back and tons of wineries close by or tasting rooms right in town.
The decor is traditional and cozy. Transforms you to another time. The fireplace in the room was so relaxing after a long day out and about. While the hotel is in the main center of the city and rooms are all on the second floor, the hotel splurged for thick doors and seals for a quiet nights rest.
The service is also great. Very clear and set proper expectations. They offer a free tasting either on site or at their property in Kenwood. GO TO the winery in Kenwood!! It was such a beautiful property and the wine is amazing.
Will definitely stay here again.

Fantastic stay. Small hotel with 6 rooms, but no expense was spared. Parking in rear, easy access to elevator to second floor where the rooms are. Tasting room is great. Robert could not have been nicer with check-in and then gave us our complimentary tasting. Hotel is in the middle of downtown Sonoma with plenty to do. Highly recommend the Ledson Vineyard/Winery. We didn't have a reservation, but were able to accommodate us, and ended up being our favorite tasting for the weekend. 5 stars is not enough for this place.

Stunning ambiance, but services were meager & there was no clean up of the room. A breakfast would have been a plus, but alas, there was zilch.

This hotel is spectacular. Outstanding people, outstanding service, outstanding rooms. Loved every minute of being here. Special shout outs to Joe and Brandon for their incredible hospitality and kindness. Will definitely be coming back.

We didn't get a chance to stay at the hotel but were catered to by the wonderful Rob Schutt.
He guided us through their tasting and then took time to chat and personalize the experience moreso than in any place we visited in Sonoma or Napa.
His knowledge of his craft, and welcoming demeanor were great. If you ever happen to visit while he is in you'll be in for a treat. Whether it be about his time in Romania, the wine itself, the hotel, or it's owners he is a wealth of knowledge.

This was our second time to stay at this wonderful hotel in Sonoma. As the first time, was absolutely fantastic. Brandon, Joe and Myra made our stay so enjoyable. The location of this hotel is great. Very fine restaurants, shops and wine tasting in easy walking distance. Would recommend this hotel to all visiting Sonoma. In addition, take the time to visit Ledson Winery also. Brandon gave us a very good wine tasting experience and helped us pick out some great wines.

Absolutely beautiful! Exceeded our expectations and they could not be more genuine and kind! Right on the square, you can walk everywhere which is so nice. Parking in back. Each suite is lovely and special beyond anything you will find in the area. Loved it!!

If you're in the Sonoma area highly recommend you pop in for a visit! Had the pleasure of a wine tasting with Maggie the general manager on a perfect Wednesday.
Not only was the wine phenomenal (we signed up for their wine club!) but Maggie was an incredible hostess for an elegant property that we're looking forward to visiting again soon!

Historic beautiful hotel in the Sonoma downtown square. The six rooms are stunning and feel like you've stepped back in time. Lots of antique and modern amenities and conveniently located steps away from everything in the town of Sonoma, as well as the Zina Lounge wine tasting right below the rooms. Lovely staff as well.

A very cool hotel. We got a room overlooking the square and street and it was great being able to sit on our balcony with a morning coffee and watch everyone start their day. The restaurant is easily one of the best we've eaten in. It is not somewhere to find a burger or fast sandwich or fast and easy dinner. It is somewhere for a special night out like anniversary, weekend get away or the like. The menu is fixed and paired with wine and the things we didn't think we'd like (like oysters) turned out to be fantastic!
