USS Alabama Battleship is a museum in Mobile, Alabama that commemorates the battles fought by American sailors during World War II. The museum includes exhibits about the ship and its history as well as guided tours for visitors.
$5.00 to get into the park and $15.00 to take the tour. I was here for a ceremony and took a tour of the grounds. Other than the USS Alabama, there are airplanes and tanks, as well as a small museum.
There is a veterans memorial right after you enter the park. Definitely worth the trip, a lot to see and take in.

This experience was amazing we spent 6 hours touring this site. Everyone should visit to better understand history. This museum provides a deeper appreciation of the sacrifices that were made defending our freedom. Donations are appreciated to help preserve this priceless piece of history! The retired volunteer service personnel were a wealth of knowledge. This would make a great class or group trip.

The folks who handle this park have truly done a wonderful thing. With the limited support they get, things keep improving and more and more history is restored! The USS Drum and USS Alabama are great places to bring your family! They have a great system for you to view the ship and have done a wonderful job at preserving these two great monuments! They also host several events throughout the year! If you are any where near or just love history this place is for you!!!!! If you go make sure to plan a full day! They have so much to view and read. They also have a gift shop and food cart!

What a wonderful place. It is loaded with so much memorabilia from keeps, planes, submarine and of the USS Alabama battleship.
Self guided tour of everything but very informative plaques and papers and the battleship is well marked with colors and numbers.
You can go into both the submarine and the Alabama.
So much history and so much you don't know.
The only problem is it can be cold and slippery. Make sure you dress for it. Plan to spend 4 hours easily.

This battleship was SO awesome. You can go in and out of most of the ship but just be mindful of small children and older adults. The stairs to go up the different levels of the ship are steep and there are lips at the beginning of most of them. There are bathrooms on the ship if needed. The staff is wonderful and very friendly and I’d recommend for kids ages 7 and older. There is also a submarine but there was so much to do we will have to come back!

Wear comfortable shoes because you don’t want to miss a thing on this ship or the submarine with your grandchild! Fascinating stories, delightful perspectives from every member of the ship’s crew, and info on ALL aspects of naval life including a glimpse into the Captain’s Quarters. Sit behind the gunnery & armaments to feel their power while goosebumps shiver up your spine or just try to imagine life in those confined spaces on board. Quite an adventure.

Amazing museum! Very glad I got to go! I only went on the "yellow" your (magazine, guns, and superstructure) but there were many other self-guided tours that I would have liked to go on. Regardless, it was an amazing museum! USS Drum was also very nice as well! Would definitely recommend visiting if you are in the area!

We spent hours here exploring the ship and submarine.
So many places to explore, up and down stairs (wear comfortable shoes). The ship is well-maintained and you will learn a lot about the sailors life at sea.
The tour is self guided, so make sure you grab a brochure. It's super big and you're able to go into most of it.
Take your time and really appreciate all the work they've put into maintaining this amazing ship.

This place was awesome. Enjoyed the rich history. Enjoyed the submarine experience. Above all my favorite thing was the engine room of the shop. Hands down some of the coolest things. Our scout troop stayed the night and I would have enjoyed spending more time on board had I of known they allowed people to explore so much of the ship. This was fantastic for the boys to explore around just as much as it was for the adults. I absolutely recommend visiting and staying the night if you can. Be aware the racks you'll sleep in are very rigid so expect to basically feel as though you slept on the floor. Hope this is helpful.

Amazing experience: We got to learn about the ship and the submarine.
I took us like a good 2 1/2 hours to walk the ship and submarine, we enjoyed it, but some parts are very hot, bring water with you.

Lots of fun here! It's great that you have a self tour. You can view the vast size of the historic battle ship, submarine, and aircraft inside the building. It takes several hours if you want to view everything in detail. Rich history to learn indeed.

There is so much to see and everything is well cared for. It is too bad that the self guided tours lacks any information aside from notating stops. And the ship itself doesn’t have much in the way of placards.
The submarine is much better in terms of descriptions.
This would be an excellent museum if everything was well labelled with a good dose of storytelling prose.
Expect to spend at least 3 hrs

Amazing experience! We visited USS ALABAMA and USS DRUM with family (two adults and three small children) and had a great time. Nevertheless there are some downsides about this place.
It’s a self-guided tour so if you’re familiar with military history/service then lot of the things are pretty much self explanatory. However, for those who’re not familiar with military equipment and history this experience may not be so much fun.
Also, be prepared to go through very tight entrance/exit and steep stairs. If you have knee problems you may not be able to fully enjoy this visit unfortunately.
Moreover, admission rates are rather high in my opinion ($18 per person regular admission for adults and $15 w/Veteran discount + $5 parking fee no exceptions) for it being a public memorial park. It would’ve been nice if the rates were somewhat lower. Even with a veteran discount the rates are still high. Fees really add up especially if you’re visiting with a larger group.
Lastly if you have a wheelchair or a baby stroller/wagon you’re going to have a problem accessing 85% of the park site.
All in all there’s plenty of interesting and fun things to explore. You can take lots of interesting and unique pictures in and around the battleships. Our family had a fun and enjoyable visit. If any of the above mentioned “issues” don’t bother you then this a great place to visit for sure.

The hubs is a history buff, so we knew we had to stop at the USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park on our way back to Texas. We should have planned for more time!
Parking is $5, so you can enjoy all the outdoor exhibits. To visit the USS Alabama is an additional fee, but there are discounts for the military and AAA members.
Here's my first tip: plan for a 3 to 4 hour trip. We spent a good amount of time on the first of three self tours. The battleship is astounding! I cannot say that enough. Everything looks so small from afar and then you're standing beside the biggest guns you may have ever seen. That changes the conversation.
Keep in mind there are other exhibits on the ground, so wear your walking shoes. That's tip number 2. We parked the car and walked all the way to the dock to get a great view of the battleship.
Here's the last tip: bring your camera and have a good time. And do watch the film. It's about 25 minutes and it's a great history lesson.

This was fantastic! The tour is self guided so you can really absorb the details of what you're seeing & not feel rushed. There are great displays throughout the ship that depict life aboard the ship. The entire experience makes you really appreciate the sacrifice these men made. The tour took us about 3 hours, but you can also tour a submarine and a static display of planes inside the hanger. I wouldn't suggest the tour with small children but it would be great if the children are "Scout" age or older.
Valerie Smith — Google review
We loved the 3 different self guided tours with the arrows and the numbers to follow, it was excellent and super easy! Fascinating piece of history with little factoids all along the tour routes. The inside was nice with the a/c but topside was awful with the heat, we really wanted to go all the way to the top but the metal rails were burning our hands. The hanger with all the planes was awesome as was the sub, the USS Drum. There really needs to be a light at the entrance/exit to the park because getting in and out was a nightmare. All in all a great experience though and lots of fun.

The USS Alabama is such an impressive ship to see. The entire place has so many interesting planes and vehicles to see, including an actual WWII submarine. The food in the cafeteria was very good, with excellent service from the hard working gentleman who worked there.

This is an amazing memorial museum. There is a ton to do and even more to see. We did self guided tours on the Alabama Battleship, and on the submarine. We enjoyed spending time exploring and comparing the ships. We have been to other Navy boats and this was great. This was the first battleship we explored so it put all the guided missile cruisers and smaller boats into prospective. This thing is huge. Bring your walking shoes. Check out those 16 inch guns and the rounds for it. Worth every minute !
Plan to bring the family !

Extremely fun place to take the whole family. I would plan on 2.5 hours for USS Alabama and another hour for USS Drum. Gift shop has some fun memorabilia so plan on spending a little bit of time there. The inside of the ship can get very warm in sections with less air conditioning. Definitely bring plenty of water and good walking boots! Very educational and informative.
The self guide tour paths are clearly marked out so you will not get lost. Highly recommend doing the outside (yellow) tour early in the morning while the temperature is still low.
There are plenty of good restaurants nearby. The cafeteria at the memorial did not have any staff so I was not able to eat there.
Will definitely be back with more family member in the near future!

What an amazing place to spend time, learning about history, and experiencing some of it firsthand. While we arrived late in the afternoon and decided to wait to take a tour of the ship, my son and I were able to spend a couple of hours looking at all kinds of military aircraft and other hardware. Even got a chance to talk to some of the airmen who were restoring some of the old aircraft. An amazing experience, and one that we will definitely return to again and again.

The USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park is a must-see historical location in Mobile, Alabama. Within the park, you can tour the grounds and the pavilion with aircraft, tanks, artillery, boats, and memorials to explore during your visit. The USS Drum submarine and the USS Alabama Battleship are both WWII vessels you may board and tour. Discover how the USS Alabama was saved from the scrapyard in Puget Sound and brought to the Memorial Park. She is a well-kept historical landmark that had a extraordinary career.

The USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park is so much more than just the ship. Touring the ship is great and should not be missed, but there is so much more. Aircraft and tanks of every type and separate memorials to Korea and Vietnam veterans as well. On the day we visited there were young people in period uniforms that greatly enhanced the experience. A truly great place to stop.

Words can’t describe how great our visit was. This is a must see for kids and adults. The battleship is massive, wear comfortable clothing and shoes, there’s lots of climbing for those interested in seeing all it has to offer. They’ve done a wonderful job making it interesting and educational all while making it feel as if you’re allowed to explore wherever you want. Obviously that isn’t the case but it’s not all roped off like it could have been. Big takeaways…to see everything takes at minimum 4-5 hours, please see everything, it’s worth it. Bring a lunch, there’s plenty of picnic tables and even some grills. Lots of climbing but moving around the main deck is fairly easy. This place is so impressive and became the highlight of our trip!

A very spirit filled parish in the heart of Mobile. I have been to Saturday Mass here several times while traveling in town. Very spacious church with a beautiful interior. Stained glass is very impressive.
PAUL RITZ — Google review
The magnificent church, modeled on Roman basilica architecture, fronts a pocket park downtown, on ground it has occupied since the early 1700s. The interior is massive. Saints and artwork decorate the ceilings and giant rotunda. Stained glass windows on either side of the nave date from the 1890s to the early 1900s. In short, without getting into the politics of religion, it’s a spectacularly ambitious cathedral. Remember to feed the poor box on the way out.

Fist off I would like to say that the architecture of the building is absolutely amazing. As I walked through the massive hand crafted wooden doors I felt goosebumps on my body. As I continued to explore the building there were so many things that made me feel the history in this immaculate structure. I was moved by not only the architecture but also by the religious history present. I proceeded to light a votive for my mother who is fighting Leukemia. It just so happens that she was getting her routine treatment. When I spoke to her after she got home from her treatment she went on to tell me how long the treatment had taken that day. She said she was exhausted but knew she had to drive herself home that night down dark country roads. She went on to tell me that when she got on the dark roads this bright star appeared and seemed to light the road up for her. She told me that the star shined on the road until she finally made it to the lite highway near her house. This left me speeches since I had not informed her that I lit a candle for her until the next day. I don't know if this was a coincidence or something special happening. Thanks for the opportunity to visit your magnificent building and I look forward to visiting the Church every time I visit Mobile!!

It's a habit when travelling with my love to visit local cathedrals and basilicas. The Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Mobile is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen. The architecture, statuary, and surrounding grounds are incredibly beautiful and the atmosphere inside is positively supernal. Don't miss the stairs down to the smaller chapel / crypt below the main floor, and make sure you visit the statues in the grounds to the left of the main doors. A simply beautiful place and worth a visit.
The Colonial Fort Condé museum tells the story of Mobile from its French beginnings to the American Civil War. The museum is located in a reconstructed fort dating back to 1723 and includes exhibits on French life in Mobile, as well as the fort's role in the American Civil War.
I would personally not pay for this because this is not the original fort. But the first Sunday of every month it is free to visit so take advantage of that. I love historic forts because of the actual bricks and mortar used. I like to touch historic forts and imagine what the soldiers experienced but the original one was destroyed here. A few bricks at the park next door are still there.
Tucker Lundquist — Google review
The Colonial Fort Condé is a replica of part of the original fort that stood at this site. During the American Revolution the British manned the fort before being defeated by the Spanish, who were American Allies. After Spanish West Florida was ceded to the US, they felt the fort was unnecessary and had it destroyed. During the reconstruction many artifacts were recovered and some original materials were reused.

Colonial Fort Conde is a nice place in Mobile, Alabama. Visit this partially reconstructed 1724 French fort in downtown Mobile. In the immersive, interactive exhibit in the heart of Historic Fort Conde, visitors can learn about the people who colonized early Mobile. See historic artifacts of Native Americans and Europeans who played large roles in the evolution of the Port City in a time shaped by innovation, conquest, plunder, piracy, and war.

Neat colonial experience in downtown Mobile. Buildings were air-conditioned which made the self guided tour much better. Information takes you from the landing of the French up and through the 1800's. Admission is done at the History Museum of Mobile, so be sure to go there first

We didn’t know we had to buy tickets at the History Museum across the street so we went in first. Just across the street walk to get tickets so not far. We then went back. It took us about 30 minutes to walk around and see everything but it was beautiful and good history for us and our kids to see. I would recommend.

I visited twice while I was in Mobile and was pretty impressed. The reconstruction is of the inner walls of the fort, but what is left is cool enough to go back and visit a second time. I loved the model recreations of the fort that are on display and our tour was very informative. I'd definitely go back when I'm in town again!

Absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately time has not been kind to the fort, but the remnants have been masterfully preserved by folks who care.
Not to mention you buy admission to the fort and you also get access to the history museum right next door. Check it out 😉

The only reason I don't give 5 stars is because there were several attractions that were closed. This fort is rich in culture and history. It's $8 per adult $7.50 with military ID and $5 for children. The grounds are fairly well kept. This is a great place to visit if you want to understand about all of the different cultures that have been present in the Mobile Alabama area over its history. I highly recommend to visit to this fort and when you're finished go right next door to the Charlotte house which was a former prison then purchased by an investor and remodeled into a home. Check out the photos!

We visited June 5th, 2022, the first Sunday of each month is free. Normally, your paid admission to The Mobile History Museum includes a tour of Fort Conde. Very cool exhibition, fyi Fort Conde is a reproduction of the original Fort Conde, and that includes lower entrances and doorways because historically, people of the past were much shorter because they did not have the good nutrition, healthcare, and immunizations we have now. My husband is 6’2, seeing him stand next to the doorways was pretty funny. He really enjoyed the exhibits that included swords, guns, cannons, cannonballs, shackles, etc. A good place to take a guy, they love all the old military exhibits. My only complaint was that the building is a little hot in some places, you will feel bits of air conditioning here and there, maybe it is that way because of the way the building is constructed, and air conditioning was not around in the old days. But still fun, I saw people with their children, you can take kids here, the exhibits are well contained that you don’t have to worry about kids breaking anything. One of the kids was yelling inside the brick short doorway because he liked the echo, but I thought it was funny. This place was very informative, it helps seeing this so I can learn about Mobile now that I live here.

The theater presents independent and mainstream films along with local productions. It has a cozy atmosphere with plush seating and a wide range of movies to choose from.
Having the opportunity to see this Cristie classic in a theater so welcoming was a marvelous experience. Having arrived early, I was able to use one of the recliners that be are in short supply. Excellent popcorn! Comfort, peaceful, rare movie experience.

This is a great one screen theater! The first couple rows of seating are recliners. The are comfortable but kind of close together. The movie starts promptly at the times stated, 2, 6 & 8 pm. The staff is friendly. There are light concessions but the theater serves beer and wine! Not a place you would bring young children, all of the movies I've seen advertised are rated PG-13 or R. I would recommend this as a cool little spot to check out with friends or if you're on a date downtown.

GulfQuest National Maritime Museum of the Gulf of Mexico
The GulfQuest National Maritime Museum of the Gulf of Mexico is a museum dedicated to maritime history in the Gulf Coast area. It features interactive exhibits on subjects such as the natural habitats and weather of the Gulf, its importance as a maritime trade center, and the history of ships and sailors. There are also displays and movies about Mobile Bay, which can be seen from the bridge wings.
A few people said it was geared towards kids and wasn't great for adults, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. There were a number of displays not working so admission was half off which even at full price is a bargain. I was tickled by the trivia knowledge bits that are glued to the hand rails, some of them were things I did not know. I was thrilled to learn that container shipping was invented in Mobile. I would like to see more of that discussed or exhibited in the museum. Also I would like to see more on shipwrecks, the exhibits they had really piqued my interest. There are 2 areas where you can drive boats in tanks and I don't care how old you are sitting down to control one makes one giddy like a child. Good fun. There was a room all about oil and gas in the Gulf and that was fascinating! The traveling Bob Hope exhibit was cool! I enjoyed the museum and would recommend it.

Family friendly and so much for you to learn! Plan to spend a few hours here and take your time exploring. The movies and short films shattered throughout the museum are definitely worth watching. Stop and read the quotes posted on the rails. I was amazed at all of the sayings that have a nautical origin. I really enjoyed my visit.

Really well done museum. Informative movies and displays that were entertaining and educational. We spent a little over three hours but I could see spending as little as an hour and a half or as much as five. The interactive things were a lot of fun, but several things were not working.

I wish I could give it a better rating.
It is a nice interactive museum but many of the attractions were not available or not working. The first theater has horrible screens and we left 3 min into the film. I think the projectors are the problem. I didn’t even get to watch the other films.
There is a lot of hands on stuff which is nice for kids. I did find the ship simulator at the top deck pretty immersive and it was very complicated for little ones. Lots of controls and commands.
Overall though it was very affordable and took about 2 hours to go though even with 3 kids. I think it has great potential and serves a great purpose. Happy overall I went.

This a fantastic museum and educational experience. So many hands-on exhibits it puts most children's museums to shame. But this isn't just for kids, adults will learn lots too from the multiple exhibits. It gives a great view of the past, present, and future of Mobile and the area's shipping industry. Great fun for all ages, leave plenty of time to explore this (ship-shaped) museum.

Very disappointing. Likely ok for the 4-8 crowd, although they won't read the placards. Little to no real objects. Signs a museum does not make. A few hands-on exhibits, most of which weren't working. The various travel sites said there was a restaurant. (One even referanced an imax theater... not). It is shut down (too bad the outside tables were about the only access to balcony at each level which had doors, but all were posted no access). Finally, staff was practically non-existent. A maintenance guy had to go find us someone to sell us tickets. There was no one at all for gift shop which did not even have postcards. My guess was all the funds were spent on the impressive building, and with covid, there was no endowment. It's really sad that it could have been spectacular
Below pics were looking out at the water.

This is such a wonderful place to go. It has interactive activities for the kids. Beautiful views and the event I went to was very informative. I would love to see them bring something in on dinosaurs, sharks, or even the holocaust. There is a lot of space that could be utilized and make so much more fun.
Just call ahead and make sure there are no field trips attending that day. That is the only thing that makes it hard for individuals to enjoy. It is a wonderful opportunity for the kiddos from school, and they need to see it, but individuals may have a harder time getting to see anything when the schools are there.

Very knowledgeable and pleasant. The costumes on display are SO elaborate and beautiful!! Such a rich history with so much tradition, pomp and circumstance. Highly recommend.

Learned a lot coming to this great Museum. Mobile Alabama, the home of Mardi Gras. The costumes are amazing and learning about the origins was definitely worth the tour. At only $8 you can not go wrong! People are very friendly and knowledgeable!!

A must see if you're in the area. So much history on the Mardis Gras. Beautiful gowns and costumes from years past. Not expensive to tour either!

The Mardi Gras Museum is one of my favorite things in Mobile. The eight dollar admission includes a ten minute film, a float room where you can take photos on a float that feels like it's moving, picture opportunities to be queen and king and a creepy looking fire truck. Then a lot of mardi gras memorabilia including dresses and dresses. Really cool ongoing tradition.

Julie, our Tour Guide, was will be versed, very informative, and a lovely person. She really made you feel at home. History and timeline are remarkable. If you're not aware of the origin and history of Mardi Gras, be sure to attend. It was my 2nd time visiting the museum. My roots or of New Orleans. It's great to wise where it all started. Thank you again, Ms. Julie

Very interesting, learned about Mardi Gras beginnings in Mobile. Beautiful clothing displays from previous Kings and Queens, very elaborate! Float designs, historic photos, and much more. Worth a visit! Helpful guides throughout the museum.

Fun museum and excellent tour. Besides the amazing displays, all volunteers at work here are amazing. The tour guide (Mrs. Jeanie) had a lovely explanation of everything going on. Afterwards, another colleague (apologies, we didn't catch your name) went out of her way to help us with tips on what to do around the city. We took up many of those, and our time in Mobile was a more rich experience because of it. This museum and all it's lovely people are highly recommended.

It was an interesting museum that taught us a lot of the Mobile Carnival. We had to watch a 10 minute video on it which was very slow but interesting. Then we got to see some floats and outfits but I do believe it was overpriced than what we got.

Employees really make this place as amazing as it is! They are passionate about what they do and are proud of their culture! Museum flowed well and exhibits were beautiful! There's a short video to watch before touring and a number to call to tell you info about each exhibit. The gift store was good too! We got moonpies and enjoyed them on the front porch before we left.

Absolutely a Great , Unique Museum, easily accessible from the Main Road. Plenty of free parking including for Handicap accessible Vehicles. The museum was clean and well staffed by friendly employees. Restrooms and a Gift shop available.
The displays were incredible, the amount of history and historic articles are super.
Guided Tours are available and Cille (I hope I spelled it right), was incredible with her knowledge of not only the museum but the city.
In the area, it's a definite place to Visit.

A very unexpected experience at this place. So much history and the displays are simply insane. As we walked from room to room enjoying the craftmanship that was on display was one of a kind for us. The colors and designs are so unique you can’t believe it’s real. A fantastic way to spend a few hours enjoying the history of Mobile and suck up some A/C. Stop and check it out.
Attractive exhibits exploring Mobile's rich local history are on display at the History Museum of Mobile. From ancient Native American artifacts to the Civil War cannon, there is plenty of interesting history for visitors to explore. The museum also has a permanent collection of miniature replicas of noteworthy Mobile homes from throughout its history.
The History Museum of Mobile is a wonderful, large and eclectic collection of artifacts from the City’s history. Beginning with French settlement, Spanish leadership, American acquisition, the Confederate period and post war period. This is a really good collection and a great testament to the City and a fine story of its people.

Nice museum with lots of history. Learned a lot about the area. Really enjoyed the special exhibit on Mobile. Didn't see a booklet with museum layout- we just wandered around to see everything. There is an interactive area for kids. Didn't make it to the fort as we ran out of time, but it is included in the price of admission.

This wonderful downtown museum was a delightful place to come explore on our trip to Mobile, Alabama. Located basically across the street from the rebuilt Fort Condé, it added historical information and context from before and after the Forts place in history as well as history of the Fort not covered in the replicas information. I thought the museum was a must see for the historian or even just a casual fan of history.

This was a very interesting museum at 10 per person well worth it. They have the story of mobile told in 22 items. It shares the changes of government and events like yellow fever. There's an infant casket I couldn't even bring myself to photograph. Also cool interactive children area and info on Mardi gras!

Very nice museum showing Mobile's history and place in the world. Easy to navigate in just a few hours. There is space upstairs where they have temporary exhibits. We saw a showcase on the Hubble telescope when we were there in December 2023.

We went for the free admission Saturday which occurs periodically throughout the year. Admission to the museum and Fort Conde next door. The Egypt exhibit was incredibly crowded but well worth the wait. The remainder of the museum has a great collection of artifacts and interpretive information, giving a thorough history of our fair Port City.

Enjoyed this Museum very much! We had the entire place to ourselves. There is a lot of different things to see. Nothing for children here.

We really enjoyed this visit! We try to learn about a place / city when we visit, and this was perfect - from the original inhabitants 10,000 years ago, through colonial inhabitants, world wars, and recent race relations. There was a small kids' area for our boys to run off some energy and play. Mardi Gras, yellow fever, local inventors - a lot was covered! And just enough info on each topic that we learned a lot but didn't get overwhelmed or exhausted.
There was a special exhibit on the costumes of "Downton Abbey" when we were there (February 2023), which my husband and I enjoyed a lot!
The Fort Condé reproduction, located across the street, is included with your admission. It took us about half an hour to go through. Note that it also closes half an hour earlier than the museum.
We arrived at 2 and left as the museum closed at 5, but we are very thorough museum attendees.

We really enjoyed it. There are multiple exhibits. Very interesting!! Its our history. The museum is nice. It doesn't disappoint. You can see horse carriages, civil rights history and how far we've come, paintings, the history of Mardi Gras, the history of Mobile, and there was a NASA exhibit which had some interactive pieces.

Brian at the front desk when you first walk is in phenomenal and very educated on what and where to do things in Mobile. He was so great with our kids gave them moon pies and let them take some pamphlets. He showed us some exhibits in the museum and explained them to us. There was an interactive children’s area upstairs which was fantastic. Would recommend 10/10 to go.

This was a fun activity to take the family. There's a rich history about Mobile that I never knew and I've lived in Alabama for 20+ years. Pro Tip: The museum tour is FREE on the first Sunday of every month.

This museum and everyone who works here is extremely professional. They do their jobs in the best way, loves all the customers who come in, and answer all questions needed. There was a review that gave a one star about them being unprofessional recently. Seeing and hearing how all historians were treated shows me that all who visited were the problem, not them. Every person who works there deserves raving reviews!!

We came Sunday June 5th, the first Sunday of every month is free to the public. We saw lots of families with young children, senior citizens, tourists, locals, everybody. A tour of Fort Conde is also included. We enjoyed the exhibits, the Viking Exhibit goes on only a few more days, to June 12, 20022, see it before it leaves. We also saw a nautical themed exhibit, there is an exhibit for kids, but we skipped that. Also, exhibitions of old war uniforms, Mardi Gras costumes, and pageant dresses, including a pink cape worn by Diane Sawyer in 1964.

This museum was surprisingly impressive. I did not know what to expect, but I got the full experience of Mobile in this one place. I learned so much, and had a wonderful time doing it. It was set up well, and had a good flow with many different aspects of the city throughout, and even before its founding. Definitely worth a visit if you're into that kind of thing.
The Richards-DAR House Museum is a beautifully decorated Italianate style house which is popular for its guided tours and special events. The house features intricate carrera marble mantels, lace ironwork, and chandeliers made of crystal. It is located in the De Tonti Square Historic District and was built in the 1860s for Captain Charles G. Richards and his wife Caroline.
I had a very good visit to the house on June 13, 2021. Even though there was a book signing event going on at the house when I arrived, the staff provided a tour, nevertheless. Sheila, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable, friendly, and enthusiastic as she took us around the house. Other staff members were also very friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend a visit to the Richards DAR House Museum!

We decided to take in a couple of the historical homes in Mobile a few weeks back. I did some research, finding that roughly 5-6 existed and open for tours. We drove over to Mobile, using google maps for location. There was lots of road construction, however, we navigated there successfully.
There is only on street parking, so grabbed a spot and knocked on the door. We were greeted by two women, both volunteers. One belonged to a group of teens that volunteer their time to help further the education of historic homes.
They asked for a small donation ($10 each) to help defray costs, which we happily paid.
Our guide took us on a lovely journey through time, talking about the various owners, what was going on in those times, pointing out interesting factoids and information. I think we spent roughly an hour on the tour. We quite enjoyed ourselves.
Of course, the tour ends in the gift shop, however, it was a collection of Southern items, locally made items, etc.. The woman that greeted us at the door, was there and offered us a cup of tea, which I thoroughly enjoyed. We visited with them for a bit, then departed through the garden area.
What a nice way to spend a Sunday Afternoon!!

Great beautiful interesting home inspired by Italian architecture. The home furnishings are from 1850-1870. DAR maintain this gorgeous property. The mobile bells help with the tours. This place is supposed to be haunted by the children that passed there. Apparently 6/12 passed.
The Conde-Charlotte Museum House is a historical place that is home to tours of the original jail and courthouse as well as restored rooms from different periods in history.
The Condé-Charlotte Museum is a beautiful home and collection of period pieces. The host are some of the most gracious folks you will find anywhere and they give a great tour. This home was originally built as a jail and within the grounds of the old fort that had been demolished. Purchased by Mr. Kirkbride, the property was remodeled and repurposed as his home.

Many families lived there, and there is lots of history. The grounds are packed with huge live oak trees, many of them over 200 years old. When we walked in we were met by an employee who very obviously had an attitude and was not pleasant to deal with. Upon entering, we realized how incredibly small this museum is. The home is very elegant and the young lady who gives the tours is very pleasant. However they do not allow photos (After of course I had taken a few) I was informed. I believe the admission price was $10 a person. They do have wheel Chair accessibility And an elevator so you needn't have to climb the stairs if unable. However if you are unable to climb the stairs you won't be able to see the pictures they have in the vestibule that shows the home prior to having an add on To the porch. Extremely beautiful and most everything in the house is original Except for one bedroom and They will tell you about that. There is a lot more than this to see, if you like what I've shown you it's a must see !!

It’s a lovely home with a nice restoration. However, the tour did not include much information about the home and its owners. The guide’s script and props in the home were more about “this is what you might have seen during this period” which included donated clothing, silverware, furniture, etc. Not much information on the families that built and owned the home. No photography allowed, no reason why except for the fact that they want you to buy stuff from the gift shop. Overall disappointed.

This Plantation Home is an incredible display of Rich history and culture. Of course slaves operated this Plantation and that is a sad shameful part of American history. Nonetheless the home is incredible inside and out. It has been modernized a bit with air conditioning smoke sensors, cameras and various other detection devices and these are the reasons I don't give it five stars. I do realize how hard it is to maintain a property of that age without some modern technology intervention. The home is well kept and the grounds are well-kept and there are awesome photo opportunities.

We're staying in Mobile for a few weeks and the museum cropped up as a site to visit. I must say the building suggested more than was delivered. Still it was was done with a few nice pieces. Went on Makers Day where museum entry was free as craftsman were in the lobby selling art crafts. The museum was entertaining to walk through and many exhibits. Treehouse room exhibit was by far the highlight. Otherwise it seemed pottery and glass figures may have outnumbered paintings. But now that I've visited once, probably wouldn't do it again as entry fees were a little high.

The kids walk itself is incredible (for children and children at heart). Outside of the museum is a sculpture trail, where you can take in both the beautiful Gulf landscape and the beautiful artwork. Inside of the museum, there are permanent and rotating exhibits, all of which are well thought-through.

For such a city with a population under 200,000 this is a significant museum. It includes many local artists and those from within the state. Quality varies widely between collections. Entry experience is odd as one must go in the gift shop to buy a ticket. Friendly staff and on a Thursday afternoon when locals were admitted free of charge the museum was nearly empty. Spent about 90 mins to go through entire museum (3 floors).

This museum has very nice artwork on display. They currently have a project called "do it", which I recommend you see. It has many different artworks that were produced from a basic set of instructions. The neat thing is to see how others interpret the instructions and everyone winds up with the same project but each looks different. Really neat. I would recommend this place to others if you're in the area.

Great place! There is art for everyone here! The variety in time, place, culture, and style will be sure to satisfy any and all art fans! The staff is super friendly and ready to answer questions. Very easy to get to, easy to park and priced very reasonably.
The Mobile Botanical Gardens is a beautiful blend of natural habitats with cultivated areas and trails for people to enjoy. The gardens have many varieties of plants, including roses, jasmine, camellias and Japanese maples. The gardens are located on Museum Drive in Mobile, Alabama, and are open to the public during daylight hours.
We had a very pleasant visit. We went on a spring day and enjoyed a walk around. We learned a lot about different types of Japanese Maple trees. Aromi Azalea Garden was beautiful. The garden is not very big, so you can spend a couple hours or whole day depending on what you want. There is no restaurant there. I believe you might be able to order lunch a couple days a week but other than that you’re on your own. They have a cute gift shop with art work from local artists. The worker we interacted with was very pleasant. Great place to visit with children. Dogs are allowed on a leash.

This is a pretty botanical gardens park. They have lovely flowers. The park seems to make birds and butterflies happy. The plants, trees and flowers are so pretty. I enjoyed the woodsy walking trail also.

We stopped by to see the waterfall and the koi fish and well I don't know where to begin,, you enter a gate then you have to go to the souvenir / admission shop pay to enter the garden / woods. I was not impressed because there's really nothing to see but woods, trees, and forestry!!!! I understand it suppose to be a Garden, but it's really nothing to see, NO BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS,NO BEAUTIFUL SCENERY just overgrown bushes, trees, and trails!!! You can get off track easily cause there is NO signs to point you in the right direction ,,,,BUT the biggest disappointment was the Waterfall,it was so small but the koi fish in the small little pond was beautiful, well my final review is it should be FREE! Or maybe we went the wrong time of year April 2024

As members of the Corpus Christi Botanical Garden we have reciprocal privileges at many other botanical Gardens nationally. Some could argue a five-star rating would be generous but a garden that does many things should perhaps be very well regarded as a local treasure. We enjoyed our 1 hour morning visit on a very warm day to tour the numerous attractions of this well-maintained facility. Individually taken Mini of Gardens settings may not be up to a five-star rating. Taken on the hole ambitious effort on so many topics it was very enjoyable. I may have given them an extra star for the Shaded parking.

My friend typically does trips with her son(who is a toddler) & leaves beautiful reviews as well as recommendations to others about her trip. Today, she drove an hour up from Pensacola to visit the botanical gardens. My friend, who’s also VERY pregnant, and her son were turned away. The man did not like her outfit & instructed that it was a “family place” … as you’re turning away a pregnant mother and her son? Safe to say we will not be supporting a place like this, which sucks as it’s probably the closest botanical garden to Pensacola.

stunning! we came from Pensacola and it was definitely worth the drive. we could have spent all day there if it wasn't for the heat! great for kids, so open and most of the walkways are paved so wonderful access for everyone. plus they do kids events, so definitely will be back for those!!

One of the things I really liked is that there were signs underneath everyone of the plants letting you know what they were. I went for the first time and was a couple weeks late as the big blooms have already passed. There was still color just not much about. It was still a cool time exploring somewhere that I have not been yet. It's a fair price of $5 which I don't mind paying. I bet if I had went two weeks ago the place would be bathed in color. Still a pleasant experience, wtoill be back, saw some pretty blooms and a black racer.

Absolutely beautiful. So much to see. Fun things for kids like the koi fish, tea maze, and chickens. We had a wonderful time with our toddler.

The botanical gardens have changed dramatically since my last visit 30 years ago. Today, the gardens are breathtaking...filled with beautiful plantings and landscaping. I really enjoyed exploring every nook of the grounds, including the tea maze, herb garden, and chicken coop. I look forward to visiting again!

There is some pretty scenery here, but we got the impression the gardens aren't well-maintained. There aren't many flowers, and the "quarry" is a tub of water with one water lily, as far as we could tell. The conservatory is really depressing, a tiny building with not one blossom.
We are members of an AHS reciprocal garden, so we didn't buy tickets in advance. The website said to call when we arrived, but not sure why that was necessary. A man let us in the gate, and we went into the building to present our card for admission. The lady behind the counter likes to talk a great deal, and share a ton of information about the place before you can get into the gardens to actually see them.
Hank Aaron Stadium is home to the Bay Bears, a minor league baseball team. The stadium features numerous activities for visitors, including home team baseball games. On Friday nights, the stadium hosts a firework display. The stadium is open to all ages and is loved by everyone who visits it.
We went to see the Christmas lights at Hank Aaron Stadium. It's our 2nd time going, but it won't be the last time. We always thoroughly enjoy driving thru, looking at the lights and listening to the music.

THIS BEAUTIFUL STADIUM IS CLOSED AND THE CITY OF MOBILE IS ALLOWING IT TO BECOME A DUMP!! The Hall of Fame plaques are covered with dirt, there is trash and signs of homeless people living there. The Hank Aaron museum is closed. This is just an outrage. The greatest baseball player of all-time and his hometown lets his home site become a trash-strewn, locked up pit??? Use your **^&*^^& tax dollars to do something about this! How about having the Feds declare it a historic landmark? How about diverting money to fix it up and rent it to the billion travel baseball programs in the Southeast? Do something!!!

The Magnolia Cemetery is a hauntingly beautiful graveyard that is home to some of the most prominent citizens of Mobile during the 19th and early 20th centuries. The cemetery includes both Confederate and Union section, and contains graves of great, great, great grandparents among other ancestors. It is a long drive but well worth it for the gorgeous view of the old oak trees and the beautiful monuments.
very nice cemetery. I wish they offered maps outside of the office for visitors after hours. it's easy to drive around on the gravel paths. There are beautiful large trees and the confederate soldier section is a nice tribute to the men who fought and died during the Civil War. Remember that they fought for what they believed in after the politicians told them they need to preserve it. Family against family, neighbors and country folks. No traitors buried here just men doing what they were told by government and dying for it - soldiers at heart.

The magnolia cemetery is a beauty. Although one typically doesn’t pay visits to cemeteries unless they have a friend or relative to visit, the tombstones and history of magnolia are simply stunning. We advise everyone to please be respectful when visiting - do not disturb those in mourning by driving quickly or blasting music. A worthy stop when visiting Mobile.

Located in the heart of downtown Mobile, Quality Inn Downtown Historic District hotel offers comfortable rooms with free parking and a pool. The Budget 3 Star hotel also includes complimentary continental breakfast and free high-speed Internet access.
Booked the hotel through their website & didn’t have any problems checking in. Our flight to Mobile was early & they were able to let us check into our room early as well. Was worried about our stay due to the reviews & experiences with other hotels/motels in Mobile but the customer service was immaculate and the room was clean. We only needed it because we were cruising the next day. Breakfast was really good as well. Overall it’s not a bad place to stay & it’s affordable. Close to food & the cruise terminal.

So I'm posting early because I need to get this over with and move on with my vacation. It's really ashame but this hotel could and should be so much better especially being located in the Mobile historic district. The staff is super friendly, the parking lot is huge, safe and clean. The pool looks amazing...However, our room was filthy. There's an empty liquor bottle behind one dresser, a raisin bran cereal wrapper behind the other. There is hair all over the bathroom floor and around the tub drain. Looks like a haircut took place. None of this is reasonable. This is the type of nonsense that makes staying in hotels so difficult. Sure, we could stay in high end hotels at 2-3 hundred a night but why....we'd rather spend that money on the local economy making memories enjoying the local venues so we choose more affordable hotels that should still be nice and clean. Unfortunately, this one failed. The suit and tie people need to send some funding this way and improve this hotel. Start by replacing the current cleaning crew with cleaning professionals who care.

We checked in and the front desk lady was very nice. Our room was covered in disgusting dirt and hair. The beds had pubes on them. It was clear housekeeping had not done anything in this room. We were moved to another room that also had hairs, thankfully longer, on both beds. By this time, it was 330 and we’d been driving for 14 hours, so we decided to sleep on top of the sheets. Housekeeping does nothing at this hotel. One of the towels had a huge stain. Absolutely revolting.
To make matters worse, there are trains, trash trucks, and then for some reason housekeeping making noise. I have no idea why they’re slamming doors or even going in rooms, do they just watch tv and milk the clock? I’ve been in cleaner bandos.
Cherry on the top of this filth sundae was that after asking to check out at noon, housekeeping tried to enter our room at 1115 so violently they almost broke the door catch. What did they need to come in for? Can’t they wait another 45 minutes to pretend to do their job?

Cheap pricing for sure. The check in lady was very nice, and the rooms had a mini fridge and microwave. They had continental breakfast as well. While the sausage was questionable, the waffles were amazing. However, the cleanliness was suffering greatly. The floors are pretty filthy and sticky and the bathrooms have grime on the doors and surfaces. The AC unit didn't cool off and it was on 80 degrees when we entered, so it was pretty hot. I'm allergic to dust and woke up itchy from being in there. The room served its purpose, we just needed to stay one night. So it was fine, but it was dirty.

The front desk gentleman was the only thing positive about this place. We arrived to stay here on our way to Destin for my birthday. I wouldn't let my dog sleep here. The rooms smelled like mold. There was tons of hair in my bed. The showers looked like they are 60 years old. This shouldn't be a running hotel. They wouldn't give me a refund. They offered to give me an upgrade. I went to look at the room it was better than the first one. So I was going to just deal with it. However when we got back down stairs the room had already been booked by a diamond member. So they tried to give me another room. It was still as bad as the first one. I was going to try and tolerate it. I just couldn't we left after being there for 10 mins. This was a horrible experience. The are dirty nasty rooms. That look like they are rented by the hour. Choice hotels need to do better. If I was them I wouldn't want this hotel anywhere on my list. Absolutely appalled that they couldn't meet my expectations or make me satisfied. They ripped me off for 120 dollars. Will never be back and I will be contacting choice hotels about thus matter.

Could be a great hotel with the right management.
Beautiful old style motel but just no effort in cleaning the rooms. Tv didn’t work, and the floors were filthy. Bathrooms were patched up.
And the “locals” just come to use the pool. Thankfully the cops came and kicked them out

Motel is in beautiful historic district, so the building is historic. Inside could definitely use some upgrading... Our room seemed clean and was fine for sleep and a shower. The biggest issue we had was our a/c would not stay on! It kept completely shutting down. Had a little issue with the toilet tank not refilling. Latisa was in charge of the breakfast area and she was AMAZING! She was on top of her game and just a genuinely happy person.

First off, the staff really did try their best and it was felt. That is where the good part of our stay ends. The condition of the hotel is horrible. From the exterior of the building to every aspect of the room, I was completely disappointed. Starting with the elevator, it was just completely dirty and looked like it had not been cleaned in a very long time. There was lots of trash in the area on both floors right outside the elevator. As I walked up to the door of my room the paint was bubbled over a large area of the door. As entered the room and allowed the door to close behind me, it would not completely close without me having to apply a significant amount of force to get it to close. The room had a smell that made me feel like the room was very clean. The next item I noticed was the ceiling, which looked like there had been water damage recently and was not repaired. I initially did not notice any active water coming from that area but on my second morning noted two places where water was coming down and had collected a significant amount of water on the floor in front of one of the beds and in front of the bathroom door. The bathroom was in very poor condition as well with light fixtures, electrical sockets, and faucet that were all in very poor and unsafe condition. The bathroom sink fixture was actually not attached to the counter surface and needed to be held with one hand while turning the water on with the other. This was a very disappointing stay and of the 6 people all staying in separate rooms during our trip, each had a similar experience. Two of our group had to change rooms due to issues that could not just be dealt with for the duration. While this hotel has a great location, it's condition will result in us not returning on our next visit to Mobile.

Although it's dated and could use some upgrades it was nice. The clerk was very energetic and made the check-in smooth. The room was clean. Sheets fresh and white and so were the towels. Really have no complaints.

Trust me, stay anywhere else. The workers here were great and extremely friendly but there’s only so much they could do with a trash establishment. The door barely worked. The furniture had holes, the breakfast was borderline empty both mornings. Oh and a rat got into some snacks we brought and woke us up in our room :)
Everywhere outside mobile is better especially daphne. The only positive thing I can say is still that the front desk employees were extremely friendly and helpful. But it’s not worth staying here for, there’s literal rats

The staff was absolutely exceptional. They alone make the stay completely worth it. The beds are kind of small for two people but it was clean and comfortable so not too much to complain on. I would def recommend. Free hot breakfast is also available.

If I could give this place a negative rating I would. When we made reservations we requested a ground floor because we had someone in a wheelchair. Guess what, we got rooms on the fifth floor. And when we checked in there was no parking available. We had to fend for ourselves for public parking. We got two rooms and one of the rooms tv wasn't working
When we complained they said they should have never given us that room. We did eventually change rooms but that was a hassle. And everyday our key card stopped working and we would have to go to the office to get it reactivated. If this motel gets any positive ratings it must because there must have been no other guests. Do not, I repeat do not stay at this motel. There are so many better ones in this beautiful city.

This does not deserve a single star. I stayed there earlier this year for just 2 nights. It was nasty! Dirt in the bed when I arrived! Behind the toilet looked terrible! I did not even shower in the shower because it grossed me out! It looked like possible mold in the drawers and on the lamp shade! No just in the juice machine! Water came out. Overall: 🤢. I am so thankful I did not stay by myself or I might would have been terrified. The door frame was also nasty. PLEASE do not stay!!!

I think the other reviews are why I felt the need to check the bedding so thoroughly. Nothing notable found! Everything was clean. The furniture looked like it had some water damage and was warped but whatever i didn’t come here for the desk. Tv and AC worked fine. Great location you can walk to the bars. Huge parking lot no issues parking. Super accommodating staff working with what has been provided for them!

Room was not very clean. The wood floors were dusty & grimey. The bed was nice, it slept well. Bathroom was newly renovated. AC unit worked well, as it was in the upper 90s during my stay. Location was great. I walked to the convention center & restaurants during my stay, only a 10 min walk.

I stayed here for a work conference for 4 days and I feel compelled to give my feedback in hopes it sheds some clarification of what it’s like to stay here. I’m a 37 year old W/F and these are my thoughts.
When I originally booked, I thoroughly read the reviews, and when I arrived, the hotel was exactly what I expected it to be. Great location close to historic downtown. I walked to my conference in the morning and home in the evening. It was lovely. I felt safe walking to the nearby restaurants and walked back to the hotel each evening.
According to the reviews, the hotel is currently under renovation. When I arrived, I found that to be only partially true. They are always working to improve the property, but I wouldn’t say that the property is technically “under renovation “ There were some repairs going on above, but they were done during daytime hours, and we’re not overly disruptive.
I found the room to be quite large and decently clean. It had a microwave and a fridge. The shower worked as it should. The TV Worked well, and the remote changed the channels as expected. I travel a lot and it is uncommon that there isn’t an issue with the TV.
The breakfast was minimal grab and go but it existed. They had namebrand items that you could grab and take with you along with fruit and a waffle station.
Was it fancy? No…
Could the hotel use updating? Absolutely.
Did I have a few hiccups in my stay that were immediately corrected by the staff? Yes.
Was it worth saving an extra 30 to 40 bucks a night as compared to other nearby hotels? Definitely.
If you are on a budget and you have mediocre expectations, this place is a great choice.
I personally feel that gentrification always has a cost associated with it, and if I could choose to stay in an ungentrified location, and save a few bucks, I’m in no position to complain, because that fresh paintjob on the outside of the building and gracious breakfast spread comes at a cost that is passed on to the traveler.
My biggest complaint about the hotel was there was quite a few times my key card didn’t work and I had to make the trek to the office But the staff immediately was able to provide me a new card, even if they were multitasking to make sure I got into my room as soon as possible.
My only other complaint was that the air conditioner was mounted very high up onto the wall where I had to use a chair in order to make a changes to the temperature. I’m not a short person.
My biggest COMPLIMENT is the staff is just the greatest sweetest group of people.
You can tell that they truly care and want to help.
Also, the parking was included which is cool.

Not the best experience with our stay. We checked in, the lady at the front desk was very nice. We received our room key and when we entered our room the smell of musty wet basement hits you in the face, I was willing to overlook that, but upon checking the bed out, we noticed how dirty the sheets were, with hair, dirt, and grit in the bed. There is no way the sheets had been changed, there was also no toilet paper. I went back to the front desk and told the lady there was no way that room was cleaned. She moved us to another room that I went to inspect. The sheets appeared clean in this room, and everything looked to have been whipped off except for the floor. The floor was NASTY! I don’t think it had been swept or mopped in weeks. You could not get out of bed without putting on shoes. There also was no toilet paper and the toilet seat was way smaller than the toilet, it did not fit the toilet. We had a coffee pot and no cups. We were not the only ones with these issues. There was also another couple waiting outside their room wanting their money back because that room was very dirty as well. We did decide to stay because we were tired after our drive there, we will never stay at this location again. It was not the standard we are used to from a Quality Inn.

Tenisha at the front desk is the only reason im giving a three star rating. I was there for the Springfling concert April 5-7. It took us 4 room changes to get a decent room. The first room 326 had stains in the bed and had not been swept or dust in months. We got moved to a new room same floor it was so much buildup on the tub it was ridiculous. Went thru two more room and finally landed a somewhat decent one(104). My brother in law out on the balacony and the railing was so loose he almost fell. This hotel needs some serious updated do not let these pictures fool you. Its not what it looks like. Whoever owns this hotel needs to fined for the way it really looks. No ice machine worked. Where the pipes were in the closet it was so many towels wrap around them it was crazy. The location is fine the hampton inn across the street does have a club upstairs plus other activties in the area. Will i stay again NO!! Dont you stay either!!

Smelled of mold, not cleaned, floors turned socks black, drain stopped up with random hair, random hair on bedding, lights wouldn’t work, keys randomly stopped working, etc. etc. They moved our rooms like others mentioned.
Was it desired? No. Would have been less disappointed in my early twenties because it is Mardi Gras. Great location and atmosphere. Honestly needs better cleaning staff. Has hot hot water and cooled well. Can’t say that for a lot of nicer places! Staying again? Not unless I brought my own bleach and bedding. Might since the location is so great. 🤪 Just warning y’all!

On arrival we (me and my aunt) went to check in and were told we needed to check to see if a room was even available because they gave away our reservation. The First Lady at check in was ok and was apologetic, my aunt went and checked room number one, there were already people inside! So we went back and she told us to check room number two and there was no one inside. We went back and told her we found one and she said to come back if there were ANY problems. At this point shift was changing and another lady came to work the front desk, she was highly unprofessional and rude. We went up to the second room and found the beds were dirty and the room smelled of mold. My aunt went back down and told me that the second woman working was very rude, refused to be helpful at all and cussed my aunt out while on the phone with the manager! After a few minutes of going back and forth the lady said she didn’t want us at her hotel so we asked for our money back and after more back and forth got the refund and left. At this point it was past midnight. We would not recommend anyone to stay at this establishment.

Medal of Honor Park is a sprawling neighborhood park complex with football, soccer, softball, baseball and tennis fields as well as a walking path and picnic areas. It is a great place to take children for a play date or to relax after a day at work.
What a great place to take a child and let them play. I took my 4-year-old grandson and he played really hard for 2 hours. This giant playground is awesome. I'm used to a rope hanging from a tree and maybe 2 swings. This place is like a kids dream.
There are benches for the adults to sit on. I had a hard time keeping up with where my grandson was. Look at the pictures and you'll see why.
I highly recommend you take the kids here.
There is a water fountain by the gate entrance.

Excellent playground with shade sails for hot weather, as well as a water fountain park. Unfortunately the water fountain area has a painted or sealed surface that is prone to black algae which makes the surface very slippery for the littles. If you are careful, it is great way to cool off on a warm day!

I would say this is the best park in Mobile. There are a big and small dog park, soccer and baseball fields, tennis courts, walking trails, a splash pad, an absolutely wonderful playground, and even a disc golf course. I bring my kids here all the time and have held and seen many birthday parties at what I consider the main pavilion (there are 2 or 3 you can reserve though through the city of Mobile's website or app). And very often there are 2 ice cream trucks in the afternoons. Highly suggest this park, especially for kids of all ages.

Great park with all kinds of features. City does a really good job of keeping it up. Walk 3 miles here every morning. Several miles of concrete walking paths and wooded trails. Several clean bathrooms. Main area and the large parking lot is lit. A large Dog park. Gymnastics facility for teaching kids. Stage for plays/music. Soccer fields, football field, 4 softball Fields, Frisbee golf. This is something the City of Mobile can be proud of!

My sister in law reserved a pavilion for my niece's birthday. Upon arrival to the park, there were people already set up in the pavilion. The listed schedule had not been updated since March and these people did not want to leave. It was a whole confrontation. After they finally left another family decided that since we hadn't set up the third table yet, they were just going to set up their party and would not leave. They were there literally the entire party and acted like they were entitled to the space; making snide comments when my brother mentioned not having anywhere to put the food. This is absolutely ridiculous. There should be a better system, people should do their jobs, and maybe y'all should have some kind of supervision at the park for these entitled folks who think courtesy doesn't apply to them. The park is wonderful, but this whole system is severely lacking.

I go here weekly to skateboard whenever I'm not at the skatepark. I'm usually here for the walking/biking path, so I'll talk about the path in this part of the review. I will attach a review of the actual park under this.
The path is okay for the most part, but there are a few cracks here and there that can really take you out if you aren't paying attention. There's one area of the path (it's to the middle left of the park, covered by trees) where the cracks get so bad, you're better off just walking over them instead of riding. Other than that, the path is mostly smooth. The path extends all the way around the entire park, giving you a lot of area to cruise. I should note that I usually run 60mm 78A cruiser wheels, so your own experience may vary.

This is the best park in Mobile for kids. This park offers so much. My understanding is that it is 80 acres total. Wide concrete walking/running path. You could roller blade, too. Also there are trails in the wooded areas and half of these trails have a disc golf course. There are multiple tennis courts available. I think a small fee is asked. Summer time, you have a splash pad for the kids. Soccer fields, baseball fields, and football field. Let's not forget the two dog park areas. One for small and the other for large. Please pick up after your pet's and if they are unsociallized, it would be best to take them when there are not many there.
Meaher State Park is a great place to go for a nature hike or fishing trip. The park is also home to a pier and waterfront boardwalk, making it a popular spot for picnicking.
This state park is ideal for those want want quick and easy access to downtown Mobile Alabama or for those who like fishing and boating. It also makes a nice stopover if you are on a long journey on interstate 10. There are a couple of nice boardwalks that go out over the mudflats and there is a large osprey nest near the waterfront. There is a short walking trail through a small wooded area. Park volunteers are really a good bunch!
Very safe feeling. The campground itself is surrounded by a tall chain link fence and front gates are locked around 5pm. After that, only campers with the gate code can get in. Restrooms are minimal but clean. There are 2 showers.

Beautiful, relaxing campground near Mobile. The spacious pads all offer stunning lake views. The staff was super friendly and accommodating and the grounds and facilities are all very well cared for. It’s a short drive away from the USS Alabama Memorial Park, which is well worth the full tour. Also we saw many gators (more than I typically see in Florida) so just be vigilant when walking your dog, or bringing them near the water.

LOVED this state park! Such a beautiful spot on the water, great views across the bay to Mobile and gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. The sites are very spacious with full hookups - we were on site 61 and we felt like we had a whole football field to ourselves!
Great boardwalk and pier for bird watching. A couple of alligators hanging out in the water and a pair of ospreys nesting in the campground - you could see them fishing every morning.
10 min into downtown Mobile for great oysters - highly recommend Wintzell’s Oyster House downtown!
Loved it! Will be back!!

This is a lovely park! I love to see God's beautiful birds and this park had a lot of pretty birds and butterflies. I only paid $2 to park for the day and there was enough parking. They also have people stay and do camping. I saw plenty of RVs and cabin buildings. I liked the hiking trails to see the beauty of nature. I noticed some people went boating, kayaking and fishing here also!!

Great Park! Easy to get in and out of sites. It's a small park, but the sites are large! Don't plan to go swimming here. There's lots of Critters in the water! Campground host was very welcoming, and had lots of suggestions for both the campground and the area. Beautiful sunsets!

The views of the gulf are exquisite. I recommend visiting if you need a nice getaway

I rate this park on beauty a 5 star. Fishing 5 star also. Our campsite 1 star (campsite 20), because it rained several times, got my shoes and pants soaked wading in setting water. Campsites were far enough apart so 4 star in distance.Traffic noise was loud and awful, but not their fault. The boardwalk was beautiful another 5 star. This place was close to shopping and 5 Rivers Delta (They are 5 star). Now another 1 star because it looked good when we got there on Saturday, they never cleaned again until Wednesday. There were issues that needed to be addressed. The laundry gets 5 star. The shower gets 1 star, no way to regulate water temp or flow. Water was cold, cold for several minutes, then almost scalding hot. It WAS scalding hot at times. If passing through need overnight spot no shower and it’s not raining, a decent spot.

Nice little park near the wetlands. I would stay here for a week. There is road noise because It carries over the water. Kayaks if you want to go into the water. Clean and neat.
The tent sites are near the boat ramp. They let me park in one because they were out of RV sites. I paid $28for one night for tent site Senior RV site is more.
The poor dog does not like the duck hunting noises over the water when they sit off a charge to scare the ducks. ( poor ducks)
I also wish people who have RV would learn about light pollution. It’s camping for a reason. Leave your lights home Thank you

This was the 1st of many trips here. We enjoyed it so much! My husband attended summer conference during the day and I felt totally safe. The views, campsites, camp host and seeing all of the wildlife were all amazing.

Beautiful and clean park. Sites are well spaced with cement pads that are very even. Lots of beautiful pines all through the park. Noise from the numerous highways but not super loud.
There's a very nice kayak launch and a boat launch.
Laundry on site as well.

We have fallen in love with Meaher State Park! The spots are large with lots of grass. The view of the gulf is fabulous! The roads are very quiet at night. The Rangers staff are amazing and helps. At the Silletti‘s house very very clean.

This was a fantastic campground! We stayed for 14 days and had so much fun. Sunsets were outstanding and the campground crew were great. Will be back again for sure!

Nice, casual place to visit, probably better place to camp and stay longer.
There is an entrance fee/price/cost of $3 per person to be able to walk around and enjoy the park. I'm all for that, but didn't know that before we got here, even after looking for a fee.
Even so, nice place for a walk. Decent bathrooms too.

I really enjoyed my stay at Meaher State Park. I had a campsite on the water with great views of Mobile Bay and great sunsets. The park was well kept and the bathrooms very clean. I hope to be back.

This is our go-to stopping place whenever our travels put us anywhere near here! Long pull-through full hookup slips (plenty of back-in slips on the river, too) that are convenient to the bath house. Decent selection of on-air channels. Very reasonably priced.

Two stars for leveling all the shaded nature trails. Still a nice place to go for a walk on the boardwalk or fish off a pier. Kids got to see 4 alligators and rabbits.

This is a hidden gem! The only downside to this park is when you have to leave. Extremely clean. They have activities and very friendly staff. The sunsets are breathtaking! It's a quiet park. I can't wait to go back next February! Maybe even sooner!

My husband and I attended the First Day Hike at Meaher this year! Chloe led the hike and we had a lot of fun getting to know the park’s biodiversity and exploring a trail. Plus, we caught the sunset over Mobile Bay. You could tell Chloe loves what she does, and it was awesome to learn from someone so passionate about her work! Pro tip: bring cash to pay for park entrance if it’s later in the day!

Not much here but a campground and boat launch.
But they have an awesome boardwalk through the water and some grassland. Awesome bird watching and probably gators in warmer weather.

Small park but very nice. Lots of RV spots and 4 cabins. Several beautiful areas with great views. We watched an incredible sunset there
The Bienville Square is a beautiful green space in downtown Lafayette with large trees, a lawn, benches, and paved paths. It is also home to a decorative fountain. On Saturdays in the spring and fall, the local farmers market brings fresh vegetables, meats, and breads along with artisan crafts to the square. On Friday, November 18th, the city welcomes the holiday season by lighting The Lights of The Trees.
Very beautiful place under renovation now. The fountain is still lit in Mardi Gras colors

I took these photos on 2012 I loved this place. Do not miss Bienville Square (1889) and its beautiful fountain if you are visiting Mobile and it’s historic district.

Such a lovely place! I thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon at the local outdoor market. Great vendors, excellent location. Enjoyed a beer and some nice live music, too. Traversed the downtown area on foot after the Square. Mobile is a charming city, with amazing architecture and history. Easy parking everywhere and folks are friendly.

This is a small green area in the middle of the city. It's a nice place to chill and have lunch and feed the very friendly squirrels. Many homeless people hang out there too though and beg for food and money.

Very welcoming place for a weekend walk or run through the city! Great spot to rest, sit down and enjoy the sun coming through the trees. There is also cool architecture to see in the neighborhood! Usually a couple of people walking through the area at a give time as well.

Even though the park has lost some of its iconic oaks to storms, Bienville Square is a vibrant oasis in the heart of downtown. The park plays host to events all year long and is an enjoyable place for a picnic lunch or midday work break. Highly recommended!

Beautiful place to visit while in Mobile. There were families and other pets. Loved all the fat squirrels running around. The area looked well kept and there was minimal trash in the area. There are bathrooms located here, but they always seem to be locked for some reason. Nice little spot to sit and chat or read a book.

Beautiful park. Get a bag of peanuts at A&M and feed the squirrels . Beautiful fountain and monuments, plaques, etc. We were there last weekend, took our little dog. Aldo were there for Joe Cain, also took the dog.

I loved visiting this historic park because I think squirrels are cute. If dozens of squirrels approaching you sounds like something you'd find cute, this is the park for you. If that sounds like a nightmare, stay away!

Too comfortable not to stop for a few minutes. Plenty of benches, shade, and joys of sipping in the park while spectating the squirrels. One of my favorite Sunday afternoon stops. Recommended for a bit of peace :)
The USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park is an impressive exhibit that features a WWII-era battleship and a Civil War submarine. Visitors can take a self-guided tour of the museum, which offers comprehensive representations of various wars and conflicts from the 20th century. The exhibit thoughtfully explains the skill of adversaries, while also showcasing the tight quarters in which 2500 personnel lived on board. Despite its size, living on such a vessel would have been stressful without adding war-stress.
This was an excellent exhibit. All the wars/conflicts from the 20th c. Are well represented. The skill of our adversaries was thoughtfully explained. The US Alabama seems huge- but 2500 personnel on board would tighten the quarters. Living this way would be stressful without adding war-stress. You can spend a thoughtful day here, it get a decent grasp in several hours.
A special treat was to see the hunley... A civil war Sub.

This was an amazing stop! My family and I have been wanting to visit for several years and we were finally able to make the stop. It was incredible!
The day we were there, they had an SR-71/A-12 expo with pilots from the SR-71 talking about the A-12. We were able to see inside the cockpit and talk to the pilots. I’ve been really interested in these planes for about 30 years, so to visit with a pilot, and be that up close to the cockpit is a memory I won’t forget soon.
The battleship was so fun to see too. We’ve visited the USS Midway, and this tour isn’t as structured or have as many volunteers, but seeing how the ship works and the seaman operate is displayed very well.
Being able to climb in to the turrets and explore the bowels of the ship is interesting, fun, exciting, and memorable.
I HIGHLY recommend visiting!!!!

My family stopped here while on vacation and it was one of the highlights of our trip! We loved it! It is a fantastic museum. You can easily spend all day here. I have 5 kids and they enjoyed climbing and exploring everything. I tell so many people about this place.

Super cool. 100% worth going. If you are on of those that is going to stop and read all the signs and look at every nook and cranny. You need a solid 5 hours for the ship the sub and all the planes. Pack a lunch there is no food offered on site.

Very nice historical park. It was clean, and everyone who worked here was extremely nice. The monument park and airplane pavilion were nice. We found the submarine the most interesting, and the battleship was very impressive. My teens and 10 year old equally enjoyed the experience. However, I would suggest not going in the heat of the day and be prepared for a lot of walking.

Unbelievable museum! Wow!
IMPORTANT: It was a lot of climbing steep steps and squeezing through openings. It would be hard on the elderly. I managed to see everything in two hours.
I was very impressed and amazed at the quality of the Battleship museum and how neat it was to see the real authentic, frozen in time equipment. It even smelled like 1940.

Loved visiting and enjoyed seeing the airplanes and Tanks outside. My 15 year old is a planes and Tanks kid from any war.
Husband wishes they had few more places for handicapped individuals to sit while walking around enjoying all the stuff though.
Great it was only $5 to park and see all the outside stuff too.

Very interesting place to visit. Even our 8 & 10 year olds loved exploring the submarine and the Alabama, which was enormous. Fascinating to see how operations worked and just seeing what it would have been like to live/ work on one of these ships. Every detail down to the Dr, dentist, sick bay, kitchen, eating, sleeping quarters and so much more. You could spend all day exploring.

Very informative self-guided tour. Lots of history and the living condition inside the sub with those limited spaces while you are at war-such an enlightening experience. SALUTE to the servicemen who were in this mighty submarine! To the people who restored this sub, Thank You Very Much!

Very nice and clean museum. Has a battleship, submarine, tanks, B-52 bomber, SR-71, and about a dozen other planes.
Narratives are well done. Cool 16” gun turret access!

A fundamental place to visit if you appreciate history and aviation/mariner science. They have added so many new exhibits and artifacts, along with the restored submarine that you can enter and explore, and new restored spaces inside the USS Alabama. A lot to see and appreciate. Plan on going from open to close because it is a lot to take in but it is definitely worth it.

What a wonderful time. Thank you to all who served on this beautiful ship. Thank you to the children who made it possible in 1964 to bring her home! Lots of ladders.
The ONLY negative was the gift shop closed an hour before the exhibit and it is the last thing you go through when you leave. They should stay open for a 1/2 after the exhibit closes.
Well worth the time.
There is a $5.00 cash only parking fee.

The USS Alabama museum is a fantastic trip into history. We spent hours exploring the ship. If you're wondering what it was like to live and serve a WWII ship, this will give you a glimpse and a new sense of appreciation for those who sacrificed so much to protect our freedom.

Amazing place, the battle ship was huge. We didn’t have time to finish the whole battle ship tour but what we did see was still amazing. The inside building was full of amazing airplanes and information about them and their stories this post is a review on the battle ship and not the submarine.
