Potter Park Zoo houses 500 animals from four different continents, including endangered species. The zoo's on-site eatery and snack bar provide food options for visitors. The zoo provides an intimate experience with the animals and offers them the choice to be seen by the public or to take some alone time. The establishment takes excellent care of all its animals, as they have sweet stories about how they were brought in, some being rehabilitated while others are endangered.
It's a beautiful zoo to see animals with little add-ons. A "quiet area", play and pretend for young children.
There are a lot of signs with information about the individual animals (which is a cool way to get your child to read instead of you reading it to them😉)
The staff is very kind and helpful, the zoo has a park in front of it that is nicely set with trees so that you won't have to sit in the burning sun.
The prices are pretty reasonable considering they are used to manage the zoo and everything it entails.
Currently the Zoo is undergoing construction to make the walk ways better, so while we did not get to see all of the animals on our visit we did receive tickets for free entry for our next visit. (Which is pretty awesome and kind)

The biggest animals are the Rhino and Camels. The pony rides were closed when we went. I loved watching the silver eyed wolf pacing about. The Rhino was quite active but all the big cats were being lazy at mid-day.
I recommend mosquito spray! Not as many kid play areas as other zoos in the state, our kids commented on this as we left.
Overall it's a fun way to spend an hour or 2 in the morning to see more activity. A nice excuse to get some exercise!

Winter rates are low and the crowds are less, so I definitely recommend going during off season if you want a more intimate experience. The animals mostly walked right up to where we were observing from which was really amazing! I’ve loved visiting this zoo since I was a very young child, but I’ve realized more recently that some of the enclosures seem…. Small. Don’t get me wrong, most seem to be a nice size, but it’s difficult to process a tiger or lion living in the space they’re given when they naturally roam much bigger areas. Otherwise I think the animals seemed well cared for and I saw many employees working hard to take care of them!

Love this little Zoo! So many great exhibits, clean, some exhibits under construction but to be expected at this time of the year, still plenty to see, has snack shop, easy viewing of animals, low entry fee, had a wonderful time❤️

We LOVE Potter Park Zoo! I went there as a kid for field trips and now bring my kids there. It is plenty big to see a wide variety of animals but small enough that my 3 year old will walk it with no complaints. They have both endangered species as well as local animals such as elk and Bald Eagles.

We had an AMAZING experience. My daughter is in kindergarten, and this was her first field trip. There were 3 other schools there at the same time, but I never once felt crowded or waited in any lines. They have food in the park, a gift shop that's affordable, a tornado machine ($3), and a photo booth ($7 for 4 slips). There was plenty of parking and a huge park attached to the zoo for the kids to burn off more steam. Plenty of shaded benched areas for eating and relaxation. There are plenty of benches throughout the park. The animals are beautiful, though their enclosures are small. I'm sure they're happy and taken care of. $15 adult entry, $5 parking. As for a wristband, if you plan on going out and coming back in.

Awesome local zoo. Now is a great time to visit: not only the zoo has many cute animals, camel rides ($7/person), goat hair brushing... but also lots of interesting and beautiful flowers blooming all over the zoo! A great outdoor experience! Looking forward to be able to do pony rides again.

Super relaxing zoo. All the animals are amazing. The lion had a lot to say as did the bald eagle and most birds. And we were joined by 2 peacocks. Was very enjoyable. Would be back if I lived here. But when I come back to MI I’ll swing by when it’s a bit warmer. Also the cows and goats were having some words lol. Was funny and a good time.

The best zoo I have ever been to ! I have never been to a zoo where you could get so up-close to the animals. You could also tell that all the animals here were well taken care of and shown lots of love. The animals here all had sweet little stories of how/why they were brought in. Some were there to be rehabilitated, and others were there because they're endangered. It was so amazing how the animals were given the option of being out in the open to be seen by everyone & then to also be able to have their alone time. My favorite highlights were the bats & the owls!! I will definitely come back for the butterflies though, because it was closed when I went.

I visited in March - Good: price was low and there were only about a dozen people there. Not as good: a third of the animals were off exhibit. Yet is an great zoo for a city of Lansing's size. I explored the whole thing and it took 2 hours. Animals range from big (rhinos, camels, lion, tiger, cows) to small (snakes, lemurs, penguins). They have a petting area, pony rides, a nature play area, and camel rides. Nearly all is shaded, so in the summer should be good. Nearly all the animals are outside; there are 2 small building for monkeys and reptiles.

Nice zoo, clean, and easy to walk around.
There are currently no wolves; it seems they were transferred to another zoo to keep a sibling company after they lost their companion. Nice zoo keeper talks and fun reptile house. There is a decent playground outside of the park and plenty of bathrooms with changing tables.

I went for one of the 21+ evening Zoo Nights and it was great! Definitely eat beforehand because there isn't a ton of food available but there were lots of drink options and a really fun scavenger hunt information sheet to fill out and get more drink tickets. It made it an adventure and I really enjoyed it, probably more than I have previous years. There was also a baby lemur which was adorable.

As a kid I grew up loving this place and I still do, it's a treat to get to know all the animals and their names, and the employees are the kindest people and take phenomenal care of the animals. They also go all out on decorations for the different seasons, Halloween had so many big spiders and cobwebs and getting closer to the holidays it's lit up with a bunch of beautiful x-mas trees. (If you play pokemon go this is a great place to play it as well)

A simple zoo. If you live in Lansing, you should visit this zoo. It's your city zoo. Simple. Lots of parking. Nothing bad to say.
Good way to spend a whole day looking at animals.

Potter Park Zoo is a great local attraction and an easy way too spend quality time with the family. Like many things these days the zoo can get expensive quick. Eat before you get there. My personal favorite attraction are the big cats. Not sure how accurate my assessment is but every time I go when it is a bit chilly the tiger is always enjoying laps around the enclosure. You are a couple feet from him when he passes. It always hits home for me how majestic, life can be when I see him. The zoo could do better with PR letting customers know when there is construction that closes a major piece of the zoo. But besides that if your In The area it’s worth the trip.

Lovely zoo located in Lansing. Animals were lively and active. On the small side at 20 acres but did not lack in animals. Well worth the drive from our area, and it left a lasting impression on us both.
Do recommend, will be back.

Went to an event this month in the evening and it was so much fun. We got to really experience boo at the zoo. The animals were so social we've never had a chance to be that close to the big cats and we've been here so many times. It was really cool! These were taken with like the worst camera too so excuse the quality 😒 anyhow again, as always, it was fun, the staff are always so helpful too at these events and I know we're there after hours so I don't even know if they get paid but everyone is always so kind. I've got a really bad back so people can often see I'm struggling to walk and the zoo staff have been helpful more than once regarding my back. I only wish the scooters cost less or there were a way to get like a waiver I don't know just an idea.

Really nice zoo with a lot of beautiful old architecture that you normally don't see at a zoo. Lots of happy animals and really nice exhibits. It's definitely a smaller zoo as far as zoos go, but bigger than the Saginaw Zoo we normally visit. It's also got lots of room to expand and fill out.
The Michigan State Capitol is a National Historic Landmark with a prominent cast-iron dome roof. Visitors can take tours to learn about the state's history and government. The capital building was once located in Detroit during the War of 1812, when Michigan was on the border with an enemy. It provides an opportunity to gain knowledge about the state's past and present as visitors move around the building.
This was my first self guided tour of the capital and it was amazing. The first steps into the building and I was taking pictures. Everything that you see is worthy of a photograph. The dome is something that everyone needs to lay down and enjoy. In fact plan ahead and wear a coat so you feel free to lay down. Make sure that your adventures take you through the gallery looking down at all the history. Even the tile floor and door hinges are pieces of art. Plan on spending at least an hour walking around at a steady pace to see everything. On my second trip I will spend more time looking at the paintings of all the former governor's. I was so overwhelmed by the beauty of building that they artwork was secondary. Just touching the handrails and imagining all the past history is awe-inspiring. If you are new to the area or have lived here your whole life spend some time on yourself and enjoy our state capital.

After visiting Wisconsin's capital building, as well as Ohio's, decided I needed to drive up and check out Michigan. The building is very impressive. I just took a self guided tour as I didn't have aot of time to work with. The gave me a nice booklet that explained everything. It took me about 45 minutes to stroll the building. Such magnificent architecture. Surprised the place wasn't more busy with people walking around considering it was a Wednesday at 3:00pm.

There are planned tours . If you are in groups of that’s perfect. Even if you are small in number you can join any group. It’s 1 hr guide tour.
We arrived just before the tour started and were the only ones when it started (late afternoon on a Friday).
Always like the tours as you get more info and history about the capital and state.
We had a good time moving about the capital building and learning as we moved along.

Always like the tours as you get more info and history about the capital and state. For instance, it's easy to b forget that Michigan was once on a border with an enemy (war of 1812) and the capital was Detroit at that time and had been captured.
We had a good time moving about the capital building and learning as we moved along.

Monday, May 16th was the best day to visit and tour the Capital. The Senate was out until 10am Tuesday. We got to see the Governor's office among other offices. Senator Curtis Hertel Jr was there and invited us onto the Senate floor and allowed us to take pictures with him. This was the best!!! Our tour guide was so knowledgeable. It was the best tour ever! 👏👏

What a beautiful architectural wonder right here in Central Michigan. With a history spanning back three different buildings, it's no wonder they decided to go big with the current version. I enjoyed spending the chilly evening making memories with my family in Lansing under the shadow of the dome.

It was an amazing experience to be at the capital for Citizen Lobby day. The inside of the building is beautiful, full of hand carved details and ornate decorations. There is so much to look at from the floor to the ceilings. Even the bathrooms are gorgeous and all different with their own character. The house floor is the place to be, the views are breathtaking. Lost of history under this roof and would make a great location for field trips.

During a visit to Lansing, the state capital of Michigan, we saw several families with kids walking around the capital building on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Four beautiful churches stand within a block of each other. The cathedral was open and visitors could just walk in, offer a prayer. One has to be careful to stay on the main stretch of-course and be mindful of crime as in all parts of the US. Remember, Michigan is an open carry state when it comes to guns. Gave lower rating because of safety concern.

I love this Capitol's style. Dome isn't as big as some other State Capitols but it is striking, a slender exclamation point to a beautiful building. Surrounded by well-kept grounds with statues and historical points of interest. We were unable to visit the interior but had time to observe a sunset then repeat the next morning in the rain, watching a calm protest. Nice to see free speech in action.
I recommend if you are in Lansing.

The Michigan History Center is a venue that offers various exhibits, artifacts, and educational programs that showcase the state's rich history. It consists of five levels and provides both permanent and special interactive displays. Although there are some interactive activities for children, visitors may expect more. Nonetheless, the center offers an excellent opportunity to learn about Michigan's history and is recommended for all ages between 5-99 years old. Sundays are particularly favorable as admission is free.
Sundays are best day to visit because it’s free. Highly recommend if you want to see history of state of Michigan. This is great for ages 5-99.

From the retreat of the glaciers at the last ice age to the present day, this museum takes us through the entire history of Michigan. There are so many exhibits and so much to learn. We spent two hours there and probably could have spent another two because there is so much to see. Highly recommend visiting if you have an interest in history or Michigan in general. The museum is well laid out, colorful, and informative. We paid $24 for two adults and two youth, well worth it! I am looking forward to our next visit.

So many things to learn about with our state's history! I remember coming here in fourth grade with my class and I'm so glad I got to share this with my kids. We went on a Saturday morning just after they opened and there was nobody else there! We had the whole museum to ourselves! I like that you can walk through the decades and see what it was like to live in our state in each decade. There is alot of interesting information and there are even things that kids can touch and interact with. There is a large tree in the center of the building and on the opposite side of the museum is the state library. We got to check that out for a little bit. There is a small kids section in the back. This library is good for looking up records.

Did you know that in Michigan the Polio Vaccine had trials leaded by Jonás Salk? Or that Jiffy the famous mixture of pancakes and baking good was founded in Michigan? Well… all of these and more you’ll learn in this History Center museum which is shared with the Michigan Library.
I was gladly impressed during my visit. This museum is organized in a way you enjoy and understand the journey. It is 3 storey and each one is pretty ample. My favourites areas were the “Mining in Michigan”, “The Prototyping Parlour and the recently added “Hazel’s creation” right at the entrance.
Sundays are free and parking is plenty and free as well.
To go over the whole 3 floors and if you go at slow pace as myself :) allocate at minimum 2 hours. You can go with seniors as there is plenty of seatings and also with children.

Came during spring break at 12:30. Parking lots were very full but Inside was nicely spaced for heavy volume.
Be prepared for your kids to get water all over their clothes in the water room. They have little dryers in the there to help speed up the drying process. It dries pretty quickly too.
We went during the Scooby Doo exhibit. Too cool! They change up their exhibits every few months.

Small and too many exhibits didn’t work at all and were clearly broken. Can understand one being broken since we came an hour after opening, but three? And it didn’t look like anyone was working to fix them. Update: I wrote this about halfway through the museum. It is not small at all. Also, I appreciate that the museum has gone through to work on things quickly after the review. I recommend making sure that staff, even weekend staff, are checking those things before you open. We drove 2.5 hours to come to the museum. So we were disappointed with our experience. I am upgrading my review to four stars, not because of the free passes offered but because they were willing and able to make the changes. I will take you up on the free passes the next time we are in Lansing. Thank you.

The exhibits up on the 2nd floor are spread out, so it wasn't too crowded. Around 12:30, it cleared out and was quiet. The kids had a blast and enjoyed the whole museum. The Scooby-Doo exhibit is a lot of fun. We did the static electricity workshop as well. That was fun, but kinda hard to hear with the noise outside and the demonstrater wearing a mask 😷.

The R.E. Olds Transportation Museum is a well-organized historical attraction that showcases different modes of transportation from as early as 1886, including bicycles, tractors, and cars. Visitors can learn a lot about the place and time period through the informative story cards displayed alongside some of the exhibits. While the gift shop may seem like a collection of random older items for sale, there are interesting model cars available for purchase.

The R.E Olds Transportation Museum was a nice surprise find during our trip to Lansing, not sure what we would do without Google. The museum had a nice little gift shop when you enter to purchase your tickets that had some interesting Oldsmobile memorabilia. Going through the museum there were a lot of interesting vehicles like an Olds Semi truck as well as small Olds equipment like lawnmowers and snow blowers which I had no idea they made. The best part of the tour for me was the Hurst Hairy Hauler, I am sure it must have been a handful on the track. If your into automotive history this has to be on the top of your list if your in Lansing

The boat itself was beautiful and such a nice venue for all kinds of different things. The buffet style food was also very good and much better than I anticipated. I have 4 stars out of 5 because the person cash bar didn't quite seem to know what they were doing and the murder mystery dinner show we saw was not as good as I anticipated, in large part to due to the multiple loud pop bangs of fake guns. I would definitely do another different kind of event there like one of the 80s party nights or the salsa night. Overall good experience.

My husband and I went on a Mystery Dinner cruise and it was a lot of fun. The food and entertainment were both excellent and we had fun talking with the other couples that we met at our table. We will definitely book another cruise in the future!

Captain Chris is doing as amazing job, his father would be proud of him. It made me tear up to see how well he's doing. I can't say enough good things about it. The food was great ! We took my son for his 7th birthday and had a good time.

The river boat I was on was nice. It was a bit of an older crowd but that cld just be that particular day I chose. Not sure if it wld make a good date if your looking for 1on1 time bc they seat you at tables of 8 with other strangers. Prolly my least fav part but there conversation was pleasant and the buffet was very good. Some spots on the boat were a bit run down but others looked well kept and there was heat and most of the boat was enclosed. But you cld enjoy the outside if you prefer like my date and I did. Over all it was worth it to me to see the smile on my date but I wasn't a big fan of sitting with other strangers.

We traveled 2 hours to get to the boat on Father's Day. There was 10 of us, and we all had a FANTASTIC time! The lunch was delicious and hot, the band was awesome and the desserts were yummy. After lunch we went up to the top deck and spent the whole rest of the day with the Captain. He was a GREAT guy! We all had a blast and would recommend this cruise to anyone.

Booked for Mother's Day dinner cruise. The food was good, nice dinner setting, service good. It cruises about 2 hours back and forth on Grand River with a strolling band that takes requests. They also have a bar on board if interested. The cost of drinks is also reasonable. I think was maybe $60 per person and felt it was fun and worth the money. Target is an older crowd, but it was a fun family time.

We had a wonderful experience with The Michigan Princess! All the way from Chris on the phone to the boat staff and even time with the boat Captain.
The lunch buffet on the river and the music by Generations was perfect for the setting. Thank you all for making it a memorable day for us and I am sure everyone who came along.

We had a great time and even had a small part in the murder mystery. Nice experience for our girls outing. It was a 1920’s theme. Food was delicious and there was a cash bar. Parking lot was huge and not a long walk to the boat.

Heads up if you go on Salsa night they’re not going to leave on time. Didn’t take off the dock until after 11 due to people that kept showing up n they wanted to make the most money. I totally get it! However it’s rude that the locals take advantage of it cuz they know they can (update the time on the website.) Gorgeous, huge boat with plenty of room and beautiful layout. Bartenders were so friendly & quick at making drinks! We had a fantastic time and it was basically a party boat at this event. I feel bad that so many just trashed it because wow somebodies gonna have to clean the nasty up.
The Hawk Island Park is a spacious, 100-acre public park located in East Lansing that offers activities suitable for all seasons. Visitors can expect to pay a vehicle entrance fee, but once inside they will find a range of exciting things to do. In the winter, there is an exceptional sledding hill complete with steps, while fall provides picturesque walking trails around the lake. Spring is perfect for BBQs and playing with children at the park's playground area.
lovely public park on East Lansing. bring your kids this summer and let them enjoy the water fountain. They can also swim on the lake but by parent supervising.
Entrance fee is free, but the car parking fee is $3 for residence and $5 for non residence.

Just got a longboard recently, and I have been coming here every day to practice on all the trails. I've been skating 5+ miles each time I go, and I'm getting good fast. Overall good facilities, the water pressure, and taste, of the drinking fountains are pretty bad but other than that, all good!

We came here for snow tubbing! Had to buy the tickets a month in advance cause they are usually sold out. Print your waiver it will save u time once u get there.
I have to say ty to Alma on the phone she helped me with my tickets cause i was having trouble with the website and she was so patient.
We loved the tubbing experience, I wish there could be somebody pushing the people asking them to wait for their turn and remind them to get off the lanes, we saw a small girl flying away cause somebody bumped into her pretty hard cause they didn’t wait for her to walk out…
The place is cool but that was my only concern sometimes people dont follow rules and that put others in danger.

For all seasons- this is a place to take the family or go for a walk by yourself. Winter- they have the best sledding hill (WITH STEPS), fall is an absolutely beautiful trail to walk around the lake. Spring time is perfect to BBQ, take the kids and play at the park and then in the summer they have a splash pad and swimming!

Beautiful place to walk! The trails are smooth and clean. It's popular, so it's a busy place, especially the beach and water area! I drive also 20 miles to walk here, that's how much I like it!

What a hidden jewel! Love this place! Bike trails, hiking, splash pad that makes pretty much any place in Florida look bad, life guards, volleyball, huge playground, conoes, pay by the car load! Sooo very much worth it!

Great park for fishing. Kids loved the splash pad and swimming areas. Lots of nicely paved walking space. I can never get a time slot for snowtubing in the winter but would love to check that out.

Lovely park layout & nature but the front bathrooms are "closed for the season" in May? Taxpayers pay for entry to their own park for only one open bathroom (which had rusted and crumbling facilities)? On top of this several areas of the park had more litter than expected plus Sycamore Creek had multiple areas with downed trees & branches just piled with trapped trash. Hope a city clean up will get organized.

Beautiful, quiet park with activities for everyone. We visited during the summer on a week day (twice).
You need to pay to park here, $3 for Ingham county residents or $5 if not. Very reasonable for the facilities available. There are a lot of available places for parking and it wasn't very busy on the days we went. Parking was not a problem.
The kids loved playing on the playground equipment and swings. They also had fun running around and getting wet at the splash pad. It wasn't crowded and the kids there were having fun. The beach was small and nothing special. There were quite a few people here. The kids weren't impressed, especially since we visited Lake Michigan a few day before.
There were sand volleyball courts and pavillions with picnic tables available. Many bikers and runners using the paved trails. A few skaters and people walking dogs.
We did some hiking/walking around the lake. It's not a long hike, but very peaceful and beautiful.
There is a place to rent pedal boats, but it was closed on the days we went. They also have a small snack shop with ice cream and snacks. There were 2 restroom areas available. One near the splash pad and another closer to the pavillions. It could be a little bit of a trek to either bathroom from the playground. The playground is in the middle, between both bathrooms.
There were a lot of seating available, some covered.
We spent several hours here and visited a few times. We loved it and will visit again.

I participated in the Capital City Dragon Boat Race this last weekend at Hawk Island. I think The park is in pretty good shape for mid-September but they have to do something about the massive hornets nest in the roof of the pavilion. This is such a great ballpark! Affordable for the whole family...honestly, buying the clubhouse tickets($40) is what we wanted to do, but they were sold out. So, definitely plan ahead better than we did if you want those. Lol But, all that aside, there's always something fun going on. There's themed days(Marvel, Tacos&Cervesa, etc), a Plinko game to win prizes(including free tickets to another game), 50/50 raffle, and so much more! I would go to a Lugnuts game over a major league one any day.
Nicole Leonard — Google review
This place is pretty awesome!
Plenty of stands and stores sell Food and beverages, which are stadium price, and despite the price the lines are usually very long, especially first few innings.
There are so many young people ordering beer; and this may discourage bringing your kids.
The field has a trail, one that goes around the whole field. This is a nice place to also watch games in extreme views, high and low, while also walking.
There is a kid playground, a bounce house, obstacle course (both require a fee), and uniquely designed play area.
It is at downtown so Parking is typical downtown Parking. Games are usually late afternoon or weekend, so should be better.
Overall, though this place is a little bit pricey, it is a nice place to hang out!

First (Lugnuts) ballgame of 2022 and weather was perfect! Not a bad seat in the house. Quaint ballpark where you can spend an afternoon/evening watching "A" ball. Food is a bit pricey, but a nice summer activity. Parking nearby is about $5.

This would be a five star review if they would have kept the Lansing ignite men’s soccer team I found them to be the most entertaining of any entertainment they have ever provided. However, I still enjoy attending the Lansing Lugnuts, though they have switched from the affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays to now become the affiliate of the Oakland Athletics. I do feel like the stadium should offer far more entertainment, and it currently does year-round, and should really consider some outdoor hockey games.

Had a great time with family watching a great game with a great ending. Couldn't believe all the young kids. Definitely a family oriented ball park. This is a great venue when looking for something to do with the family.
Matthew Hoffmann — Google review
From the get-go, this place is kept so clean! Even outside! From tickets (both baseball and soccer) to bathrooms, there's zero trash along the ground, and trash cans never overflow! The staff is always SO friendly, and I appreciate the inclusivity and diversity among them! As far as baseball, I do miss the fun sound effects from when I was a kid, but the on-field entertainment between innings is, well, entertaining! If you get there early enough you might be able to sign up to be a part of it! They do themed nights which are usually a bust but I appreciate the effort! Thirsty Thursdays are great if you can handle the college crowd, and the fireworks on Fridays and Saturdays are so nice! Currently in the inaugural season for Ignite, the soccer team, and the atmosphere is somehow so different. Soccer fans are another breed and it is so refreshing so experience. The best seat in the house isn't a seat - stand along the rails in the outfield and you can hear players talk on the field. Pretty cool. Also in the outfield is Good Hops, a craft beer bar and bistro! Great beer selection, great food, and the best bartenders! They've been there for years and never disappoint.

This is a fantastic place where summer nights live up to every ounce of their potential. Great baseball, excellent food and drink, and plenty of fun for fans of all ages.
I also like that the stadium is entirely cashless. However, that is also the reason I’ve docked a star.
You’d think that going all-in on cashless would mean they’d support Apple/Google/Air Pay or at the least chip readers. But it’s old-fashioned swipe only. Three out of four vendors could not get their machines to read my card by swiping, and had to resort to a very slow process of manually entering the info. And that only worked half the time!
Everyone was super polite and did their best. But if you’re going to go cashless, you’ve got to embrace the technology to fully support all that makes cashless work.
Love this history of this home near Old Town in Lansing! This was the first year I was able to showcase a tree for the Festival of Trees!
Also had my BIG 40th Birthday here!

I really enjoy the Turner Dodge House and it’s history, but my last experience wasn’t great. Usually, at the Open House, they have tea and cookies and some Christmas music, plus workers that are chatty and friendly. This year, we got there at 4pm like we did last year but there was no tea or cookies, no music playing with only the strange squeak of one of the displays upstairs which didn’t make the upstairs super comfortable. Then, a worker there told us it was 4:50pm in a way that seemed like they wanted us to leave as we looked at the decorations upstairs. I was surprised at the lack of trees. In the past, I saw Fenner and other places that had cool trees, even a group I have been apart of, Capitol Steam, had one. Overall, we were going to the open house to see if we might be able to bring my boyfriend’s family there on Christmas since few things are open but I was hoping to show them the whole experience with tea and cookies, etc, but I am unsure now. I have really enjoyed the Halloween events I have done there, so I am torn. Plus, I was told if I want to volunteer there, I can but I did this three years in a row, leaving my info, and no one contacted me. Would the fourth time make a difference? People tell woes about Lansing but this isn’t the only place where I waved my arms and would offer free labor, yet no one seems to care. I do love this building and it’s history. This experience doesn’t make me not want to attend say, a music event, in the future. It just makes me on the fence about bringing out of state family there for Christmas as their first exposure there, especially if we seemed ushered out early. But it is worth the $5 for us to see that super cool Wizard of Oz tree. I should post a photo of it here. I do enjoy how the house isn’t roped off like other historical houses. It makes it a more intimate time.

A fascinating venue for a 70th birthday party. It illustrated what upper crust life was like before industry brought fabulous wealth into the state. Nothing was behind a velvet rope. Absolutely loved my experience with the Turner-Dodge house! I had my open house there and it was such a beautiful and perfect place to have it. The amazing woman who is taking care of the house does a phenomenal job of keeping the house pristine and flawless. It is truly a great place to be at. The history of not only the house but the family who created it is just so fascinating and quite amazing. Definitely check it out and keep it in mind for any event you might have.

We went on a field trip here on a very hot day. The staff was informative and taught our group of first grade students about reptiles and had hands-on experience with turtle and tortoise shells. We took a short walk to see a "snake board" micro habitat and were lucky to see a young garter snake up close. Afterwards we explored the nature center inside and observed activity in the pond nearby from the platform deck.

Plenty of parking, organized inside and out, and tons of unique "junk" 😍

The Mega Mall is simply amazing. The sheer amount and diversity of antiques is astounding! The exterior of this place needs major renovations, especially the signage. This only serves to hide the magnificent levels of treasures that can be found inside. Like every antique shop, there are wonderfully priced items and some that are clearly overpriced.

Been to a lot of antique malls and this is a good one. I'm 50 years old so a lot of booths have items that would appeal to someone around my age (70s and 80s). Tons of other things as well. Probably have to go through here a couple of times before you see everything.

Drive 75 miles to buy a sterling anniversary gift for my wife. Can you believe a mall this size had none. Most of the stuff they had was junk. Looked like box lots for a auction house. 10 cent items for $10. Most dealers were 50% off. If they had quality antique items you shouldn't have to do 50% off.

It's a flea Market or thrift type store that takes hours to walk through. They have a lot of collectibles and if you need help you call their phone number and tell them the number they put one on the top of each dispatch case and that's how you get help. I wish i would have known that before i started wandering around for so long. Their merch is WAY OVERPRICED.

Nice place lots of space to explore. One rude employee who didn't seem to like his job and thought it ok to complain verbally to himself ended up being the same guy who was rude to my mom the last time she was there all becauseshe had a shoppingcart that they provide he did find her later to apologize though. Hopefully, his home life is good and not affecting work. It can be tough to separate the two sometimes. But besides that, it's a really cool place. I do hate when there is so much I like in the locked cases, which they had a lot of, but I understand the theft problems as I work in retail and deal with it enough. It did save me money this time, though, as I didn't want to wait for assistance. Next time, I'm bringing the husband and buying some things from the cases, but he needs to pick them out for his future gifts, lol.

The Lansing Center is clean and comfortable. What my friends and I (and many ladies waiting in line with us) didn't like was one ticket window with hundreds of ladies buying tickets. So like many others we bought tickets online while in line. Had to pay four dollars per ticket service fee. Ladies were also charged two per ticket using cash at the window. So the Woman's Expo wasn't Twelve dollars admission for anyone. We found some vendors pushy. We won't go again.

Went to the Women's Expo in Lansing yesterday and it was the worst show I have ever been to. Nothing but junk in there, save your money and go to the dollar store or read your local newspaper for advertisements. Also, a service charge was added to the price of the tickect at the box office. Still don't understand what that was for?

Very interesting and beautiful piece of engineering that I never realized was there in all my years of visiting Lansing. It's located along the Lansing River Trail and so it's very accessible whether you're on foot or riding a bike. There's also a few benches in case you need a break or even a little picnic. 😊

After paying for three hours of parking because we were wanting to use the river trail, we were surprised by the number of campsites in the area and counted at least 20 people living in tents under overpasses and in the landscaping. No public restrooms anywhere so where are these people taking care of basic needs? Lansing needs to do better. Highly recommend avoiding the whole river trail area, it is not safe for anyone.

My kids and their friends always enjoy starting our river trail walk at the fish ladder. The parking lot is well lit, has free parking, and there are some rad metal sculptures and painted murals nearby. Old town is so charming, and the fish ladder itself is a fun place for the kids to explore, and a great place to take some artsy pictures as well!
It's nice to see that folks are being more responsible as of late with their trash, and disposing of it properly; the area is really beautiful when there aren't half eaten picnics hanging around! :) there are also some mature trees and benches perfect for a quick bite before your stroll.

I don't get out this way often but enjoy walking these trails whenever I'm on this side of town.
Today, I was delighted to discover that the former rink in the Western area of the park (entrance near the sledding hill) has been recently been replaced by a playscape, pickleball court, picnic tables + pavilion and...my personal favorite: hammocks!

This park is absolutely beautiful 💙 ! The park's bathroom was even clean 👌, had hand soap that smelled awesome.. If your seeking a small piece of peace this is the park you should visit ✨️.. AWESOME! Thank you for the natural beauty 😘

Brought my 12 yr old son up from Florida after the blizzard. He's never been sledding. We had so much fun. Thank you for building this place.

I drove by this park and was excited. They have about 3.5 - 5 miles of trails. I grabbed my dog and was VERY DISAPPOINTED! Dogs are only allowed on the "Nature Trail" which is about 5% of the park. I ran the nature trail in 5 minutes. Dog owners will keep reading "NO DOGS ALLOWED", "NO DOGS ALLOWED", "NO DOGS ALLOWED", "NO DOGS ALLOWED", "NO DOGS ALLOWED", "NO DOGS ALLOWED", "NO DOGS ALLOWED". At least open the paved trails. Pets need exercise. WHAT A PET HATING PARK! Never going again.

This park is absolutely breathtaking. We have utilized this park in our family for many events, birthdays, gender reveals and most recently a memory lantern release. This park has great views, plenty of space, good parking and great trails. If you’re looking for an experience definitely come here. It’s always clean nice play ground area with swings for the children. Sunset is gorgeous here too! Great place for photography.

Smells like lavender tea. The sledding hill is definitely for the experienced sledder . I'm talking a rip roaring sledding machine.

Its a great place to star gaze if your into star gazing. If your looking for a safe park to enjoy both in the day and at night. This is the place to go. The trails are well lit at night. The park is very clean and well maintained. I'm sure if you enjoy sledding in the winter this would be the best place around. There are many hidden things that may not have been found by others at this park. Its a must see all around year around. Take your mind off the Covid and take your kids for a walk or your significant other or as a family. Something to do for everyone. Facilities are also very clean and well maintained. 5 stars all around I recommend to everyone. Of all ages!! God Bless

And here for the first time to go sledding. The hill was perfect for every age. My two complaints are.. 1- if some could get rid of the big rocks and stuff are the bottom of the hills and maybe try and mow the grass down before the first snow. 2- the garbage of old sedans tubes being destroyed from the rocks are littered around the hill. There is no can or anything to set them in.

Nice park. Love the trails. There's a lot to do here. They have playgrounds with some really nice equipment. There are soccer fields, baseball diamonds, basketball courts, a roller hockey thing, nature trails, pavilions, bathrooms that are open year round, and trails for walking, running, and biking.

I think my son enjoyed the giant fake rock the most of all, but he did definitely still play on the play structure. It's probably more designed for kids that are slightly older and maybe not as many toddlers, but was definitely a lot of fun and a great place to stop and let kids burns energy.

Great, paved winding path that weaves in and out of pretty secluded shaded woods. Some of the path is lit up by lamp posts which gives it a really cool effect at dusk. The curves make it very difficult to see if someone is around the corner, so you need to go slow on a bike. The path takes you to another park with a playground, wooded disc golf course, and baseball field. Good park for a workout. There's a spot for sprinting up and down a long set of wooden steps, a roller hockey rink, basketball hoops, and a pavillion.

Ideal newly paved walking trail, well maintained beautiful park between Lansing & Dewitt that offers a basketball court, small playground, picnic area with grills & canopy, a sledding hill in the winter and an ice hockey rink. Really a beautiful park away from the city madness.

A nice little pub with an amazing selection of beverages on tap, even in cans/bottles. The tables might be a bit wobbly but a comfortable casual drinking and conversation pit I will enjoy visiting in the future. Thanks to Kathy for a wonderful first time introduction.

So glad to have dinner and good company this Wednesday evening (10/13/21) at REO TownPub. Nice decent fall weather, a nicely cooked, well-seasoned NY strip, complete with baked potato slathered in butter and crisp & sweet Caesar salad, and plenty of cold water to wash it all down. For $15, it was definitely a great bang-for-your-buck meal... Only on Wednesdays. And TYSVM, Ryan Schaefer, for the bug in my ear! #FoodieDreams #GreatMidWeekDinner #EatLocal

It is now a bar. They only have steak on Wednesdays and only Wednesday was told from 6-8:30 but it sounds like a good deal. Stear Mash potatoes and Salad and 2 adults drinks for 16.00 with out the 2 adults drinks it's 19

What a great little spot. Small and atmospheric, very cozy. Andrea our bartender.. bar-ista? Cocktail Curator? Was lovely. Very personable and made us feel like regulars. No kitchen here so, we ordered food from across the street and ate at the pub with our drinks. We even made flash random friends with two friend patrons. They had a cozy sidewalk patio zone with tables too. Bathroom was clean. The drinks we had were good. If i lived near by this place would be a regular spot for me just from this first interaction, and especially with the reasonable pricing.

A month ago I posted a 1-star review. That has changed.
June 15th, one month later. I returned to give it another try. First Stephanie the bartender, being her warm, talkative, charming self. Jess with her smile and cheery attitude. Ryan, always a good conversation. Then Jack, one of the owners, made me feel part of the pub family again. They made it right and made me feel welcomed again. Btw, the steaks were great. Glad to be back!
Very scenic woodland park. They offer valleys, pine forest, tall trees, wetlands, etc so many different kinds of terrain and ecosystems there. Wildlife I saw today included various kinds of birds, carpenter ants, isopods, dragonflies, all kinds of beetles, the dreaded dog ticks and so many awesome kinds of spider I'd never seen before. Also saw a small garter snake which was cool. This park has several great opportunities for geocaching, but is cool to visit regardless.

Beautiful trail with evergreen trees. Only one other car when we went in December. Trails were very good and maintained even though we went after a heavy rainfall. Costs a couple bucks as a drop station for us to go, but nothing terrible. Lovely people walking and cool surrounding buildings. Parking lot could do with some repaving

Beautiful place that is cared for. YET, the trails are not clearly marked. I became lost on three different occasions over the past few years! Imagine my disappointment when I was enjoying the beautiful walk and realized that there were no trail markers and the ones there were confusing at best. I wish I could feel safe to return.

A beautiful place for a walk, wedding, kids camp.... Everything is so well maintained and the staff is super friendly. I am so excited for my son this year. His school will visit Woldumar Nature center once a month and I cannot wait to hear the stories he brings back.

This place is beautiful! Definitely worth checking out! The trails can get kind of tricky, so definitely mark where you are or pay attention to your surroundings. Lots of nature, lots of 0laces to wander and get lost!

Fun and relaxing with beautiful colors and water views throughout the year! Woldumar Nature Center offers hiking, walking and skiing on over 5 miles of woodland, prairie and pine forest trails.

The park has always been beautiful, the trails kept clear. The only issue is disrespectful people who don't pick up after themselves. I wish I had taken photos but someone let their child(ren) leave several messes of yarn & toothpicks.

I love the peace that comes from walking the trails here, if your quiet you can see the deer and the smell when you walk through the pines is phenomenal!

Nice, cool little trails in a good area. Has a little lake, kayaks, canoes, and lots of wildlife:) Perhaps you guys should invest in some garbage cans, especially in the parking lots so that people can throw their trash away properly!!

Such a beautiful and well maintained gem! The fall colors here are exceptional, the most variety of colors I've ever seen on a fall walk. There are several different lengths of paths through various scenery. All the paths are well marked and orange paint marked roots that stick up to avoid tripping. Dogs are allowed on a leash and there are a few poop bag stations to make it easy. There is a barn and an outdoor area where it looks like wedding receptions can be held, and an old log cabin which I have yet to check out. Can't wait to try cross country here in the winter! Well worth the $2 donation to keep the nature center as beautiful as it is!
Great atmosphere. Rented the upstairs room out for a work event, was able to come early to set up and stay a little later in order to clean up the decorations. Sasha (I think was her name) was our server she was very attentive and made sure that all of our party was adequately taken care of. The space was clean and very cozy. The drinks were delicious, I was drinking the pineapple muse. Would highly recommend using it for future events.

Planned to come here with friends on a Saturday evening to enjoy some cocktails, online says open 12-12 it was 6:30pm and the door was locked, no sign or anything. This is the second time we've tried to come on a weekend evening and this has happened.
Edit to response:
Just down for the week? Forever? How long are you closed. Why isn't it announced on your website?

Awesome drinks, cool chill vibe, fun games to play, and great service. I had a pineapple lavender drink with vodka soaked pineapples and a drink called the heat wave. I love spicy so the heat wave was delicious- fruity and spicy and sour!

DO NOT reserve the room upstairs. Especially for how expensive it is ($400 for 4 hours) where we were told we had to leave early…
The service was horrible. They were waiting on maybe one table downstairs the entire time so it’s not even they were overwhelmed. It would have been nice to have two servers (even though they were all unpleasant) considering there was no bartender upstairs like what was promised. We made our own fun of course and know that you have to bring your speakers if you want music, which is also frustrating considering the price.

Jade, our bartender was amazing! She recommended several beverages that were great. We enjoyed the pineapple lavender vodka, the jalapeño habanero vodka, the chocolate caramel vodka, the whiskey… Basically, we enjoyed it all. Side note, some of the reviews say they have food, but we did not have that opportunity. Sidenote #2… You cannot buy their flavored vodkas because they are house infused. You can buy their potato or corn vodka and then infuse them yourself. However, they were darn good the way they made them.

We loved the pineapple lavender infused vodka! We bought the vodka and we’ll infuse with lavender and pineapple later. Personally, we weren’t a fan of the spirits but the waitress was exceptional!

Great venue, cocktails are okay. I'm surprised it's not busier. Apparently under new management, so come back in and give it another try.

Great cocktails, amazing toilet paper! We spent the afternoon enjoying the lovely distilled spirits in various cocktails. My favorite was the pineapple mule.
The real gem here is the high quality toilet paper. Ladies, I'm not kidding. Best bar bathroom in Lansing, hands down!!

Definitely a random find while passing through town. But it was pretty great for a vodka stop. Didn't get to stay long but definitely has potential to be a great hangout place. The potato vodka was smooth and had a flavour profile of something much more expensive. Hopefully the products will make their way to Canada as well.

As locals I’m ashamed it took so long for us to come here. Very small and relaxing atmosphere. Loved the range of drinks and the strong flavors in them. Good toilet paper, though they do need a new holder for it lol
