The Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park is a well-known park situated along the Beaufort River in downtown Beaufort. It offers visitors a multi-acre of beautiful green space, along with several recreational amenities including a playground and stage for performances. The park was constructed in the 1970s and underwent renovations from 2006 to 2008, providing breathtaking views of Lady's Island, Port Royal Island, Parris Island, and Woods Memorial Bridge.
Love this waterfront park in Beaufort and always visit when I'm in town. Great walking park with swings for two and picnic tables scattered throughout the park. Kids' area/playground at one end.
Lots of trees and personality. Located right behind downtown and next to the parking area (pay lot). Restrooms near kids' area/playground.

Absolutely marvelous!
Beaufort is impeccably clean. Gorgeous views all around but downtown is a different scenery with plenty shops around, restaurants, ice cream parlors, & the park.
Perfect for the little ones or to keep them busy while the rest of your party shops.
The swings throughout this area are a plus to unwind & enjoy.

A huge kudos to both the town and whoever designed this park, which is one of the nicest I've ever seen. Absolutely beautiful and well worth a stroll if you're in town for dining or shopping. The "swing benches" are genius and so inviting on a beautiful day. Felt like we were on a movie set or something.

This is such a beautiful part of South Carolina. This park has plenty of room for the kids to run around and play, a playground that my kids both love, plenty of restaurants, Ice-cream and some great sunset views. The swings add such a charm to this quaint riverwalk. This park is very popular and can get crowded but worth the fighting. Great views of historic Woods Memorial swing bridge. My wife and I end up there quite a bit on "Date Night". With the public boat dock, this is a great place to arrive on boat, dock and enjoy! They even offer movies under the stars

Such a great little park! My husband and I took a break from doing the tourist things, and strolled through this park. We sat at a table for a while and then decided to sit in one of the 'porch' swings. While enjoying the river view a gentleman a few yards from us was fishing and caught a small ray. Bathrooms are available nearby and they were clean. Families with kids were enjoying the playground area.

There is a playground for the kids and they might even get to see the bridge turn to let a ship through. The best thing is it's all very clean!

This waterfront park is beautiful! It's a great place to catch a vivid Lowcountry sunset from one of the many swings, or watch boats go by, and maybe see the swing bridge open for a larger one. It's also a great venue for the many festivals that Beaufort has throughout the year.

The Pat Conroy Literary Center is a non-profit organization that provides resources and education about the life and work of Pat Conroy. They are passionate about sharing his work with others, and they have a wide range of materials available to help readers learn more about him and his work.
What a little gem in Beaufort! First time visiting this legacy to Pat Conroy’s life, work, passions and loves. Everything from his Citadel days to his early teaching years to his writing career. His desk and chair and yellow legal pad are here, as are his Citadel cover, and the quilt made by his sister that tells the story of his life in such a wonderful way. The two ladies working today were kind, helpful, and had such a great knowledge of Mr. Conroy and his life and times. Check out the bookstore for hats, tees, books and other goodies. A great place to spend an hour or more next time you’re in Beaufort!

Who can resist taking a selfie at the desk where some of the greatest books in American literature have been written (by hand) while sitting in Pat Conroy's chair? There's much more to this gem of a center in the endlessly charming city of Beaufort, SC. His sister Kathy was in charge the day we went making it extra special. You'll come away knowing PC much better and wanting to read or re-read his books. I bought yet another copy of THE WATER IS WIDE to give away. I thrilled at the handwritten letter he wrote his parents after his first day in charge of teaching the illiterate Gullah children. You'll laugh at where THE GREAT SANTINI movie poster has been placed. After, stroll around downtown Beaufort's waterfront and soak up the tumultuous history unimaginable in such a serene setting.

Visitors have the opportunity to use complimentary bicycles to discover The Point, the Spanish Moss Trail, and nearby areas. Simply request a bike from the accommodating staff, who will provide a helmet if desired, ask you to sign a waiver, and give you a lock key. This allows for easy exploration of Downtown Beaufort at your own pace.
Beautiful biking and walking trail. There are lots of historic signs to read and learn about the area's history. Free to park. The bathrooms are either port-a-johns or gas station bathrooms. We did an end to end round trip on peddle assisted bikes.

This is a great trail system! We parked at the Port Royal end and rode out and back for a 20.2 mile total. This trail is well maintained with plenty of signage along to way, including historical markers. The northern section is fairly remote so pack plenty of water or stop at the Parkers gas station that is connected to the trail. Enjoy the great lowcountry views and smooth riding.

A nice little trail. Completely flat and paved for ease of travel, it's a quick ride with benches along the way for a picnic. There are also several places with porta potties or restrooms. The best parts are near water or in tree shaded areas but the northern section runs along the main road and isn't as nice. We rented bikes from University Bikes a mile away from the train depot.

The Spanish Moss Trail (sometimes called Beaufort Rail Trail or Magnolia Line Trail) follows the old Port Royal Railroad that was built in 1870. The planned 13.6-mile scenic route will cross Beaufort County between Port Royal and Yemassee. Parking can be found along the east side of the trail at the Technical College of the Lowcountry (921 Ribaut Road). Along the southern half of the trail, there are three parking areas available: Broome Lane, Westvine Drive and Ribaut Road.

My name is John Iannucci, I am an Orthodox Christian not an Anglican. However, I remember when I lived in Beautiful Beaufort S.C. in 2017, before I was baptized an Orthodox Christian, me and my family went there and they were wonderful. My Dad who was an Orthodox Christian went to St. James Orthodox Church (I love them too). You can learn a lot of the interesting history of beautiful Beaufort from them. They are kind and likable people.
They help the poor, which is good of them.
I support their stance against homosexuality and abortion, and I pray for them even though I'm not a Protestant.
I own a graphic design and t-shirt business. Last year, I asked them if they could hang up some posters for me in their parish hall, and they did so. It was kind of them.
I love them, I ask God to bless them, although I don't completely agree with Anglican theology and service being an Orthodox Christian I still love them as my fellow Anglican brothers and sisters in Christ and they were kind to me.

The Beaufort National Cemetery is a well-maintained military cemetery located on Boundary Street in Beaufort, South Carolina. It is a smaller version of the Arlington National Cemetery and serves as the final resting place for military veterans who sacrificed their lives for the United States of America. Visitors can pay respects to fallen heroes and experience military history at this site.
What an incredible honorary visit. A lot of history, a beautiful place to visit at Christmas or any other time. I will take and suggest this excursion to many friends and visitors.

The cemetery is beautiful, but you aren't given the courtesy to grieve your loved one. At the gravesite, I couldn't even concentrate on the "prayer" in fear that they would interrupt. I couldn't help but notice the very loud, figurative ticking clock. I understand that the National Cemetery is busy, but when honoring families, perhaps you should allow the families time. If it is the lack of space, come up with an alternative.

Perfect. Close-clipped grass, headstones all perfectly aligned, no litter, no fallen tree limbs. This cemetery is a tribute to those who fought and died for our country.
I was here to visit the final resting place of Colonel Donald Conroy. You might know him as the character played by Robert Duval in the movie The Great Santini. If you're looking for it, it's in Section 62, which is all the way to the back, two sections to the left of center.

My wife & I visited the Beaufort National Cemetery and found it very nicely laid out and well maintained. The custodian was very helpful. Because this is a military cemetery the graves are, of course, very uniform; however, on the "back" of many you can find some good quotes, such as "Did it my way" and "Gone Fishing", as well as one which said "Gone to Hell". G.I.'s & soldiers have such a sense of humor, and I am for some the quote were not ones they chose - instead they were chose for them either randomly by some V.A. official, or family to best represent the soldier.
Expect very hot and muggy conditions from late spring to late fall, and DO bring mosquito repellent as the beautiful live oaks pretty much stifle any breeze. Also take a wander outside the cemetery & patrol the perimeter to find some wonderful examples of old Southern architecture. Across the street facing the cemetery in a little neck of woods is another old cemetery, not very well maintained, if maintained at all. A civilian construction, it is well worth the photo hound's or gravestone rubbing enthusiast.

If you are planning to visit Beaufort South Carolina. I highly recommend visiting the Beaufort National Cemetery located on Boundary Street. I personally have visited the Beaufort National Cemetery on quite a few occasions. I have often visited on Memorial Day to pay my respects to the Military Veterans who paid the Ultimate Sacrifice for the United States Of America. The Beaufort National Cemetery is well looked after. It reminded me of Arlington National Cemetery but obviously on a smaller scale. If you love history or a Military History buff I recommend visiting here. Very Quite due to it being located off the main road into Beaufort. There are many events held here at the Cemetery through out the year. Be sure to check the local news outlets for information.

The Verdier House museum is a historic Federal-style mansion built circa 1804 by John Mark Verdier, a successful merchant and planter. The home is significant for its architecture and its role as one of Beaufort's most visible markers of Verdier's rise from merchant to wealthy plantation owner. Amazing old home. When you look at it from the outside, you know the square footage is sizable. However, how people in the early 1800's appropiated the area is different from today. This house was more for entertaining than the comfort of the family. Worth taking a look.

This historically restored residence serves as a window back in time to the often misrepresented era of the antebellum South. Our tour guide shared fascinating tidbits about Beaufort's history and the impacts of the Civil War. The architecture and layout of the house itself were also intriguing. Ten dollars for about thirty minutes in this beautiful landmark seems like a good value.

When you walk into Thibault Gallery it feels like you're walking into a friend's house. Mary and Eric warmly greet you as you walk through the door, and the customer service is the best I've ever seen.
The artists that are show cased are very talented and their work is incredible. Every time I want to redecorate my house my first stop is always Thibault Gallery, and I think yours should be too.

A favorite place to visit on Bay St. I live to visit Mary and Eric and often find an item I absolutely must buy. From a favorite Christmas ornament to photos of local sites to an original painting to notecards, I always find something I have to have. The Thibault Gallery is warm and inviting and everyone needs to stop by.

The kindest most caring folks on Bay Street! I have had many dealings with miss Mary and every one has been more enjoyable than the last! Do yourself a favor and visit their gallery!

A great gallery with open space to appreciate the artwork. They have a good variety of art: glasswork, paintings, photography and 3-D artwork. The artwork changes monthly, and they have a First Friday event with wine and food!

Best art studio in Beaufort. Mary and Eric are the best.
I was a vendor for the black mermaid event last week. The center is a beautiful structure. The event was awesome, and the vendors were all so talented!

The outside space was comfortable under many trees with a nice breeze. No obstructed views and sound was very good. The only drawback was the walk to the restroom which was up several concrete steps inside the building, and down a corridor.

It was amazing.

Nice venue, clean, great shows and events. Only complaint is the seating in the auditorium is not comfortable at all. The seats are EXTREMELY small and the arm rests don’t go up. It’s quite painful to sit through a show if you have any hips at all

Saw The Sound of Music this afternoon. It was one of the best live performances I've ever seen. Anna Booman was incredible as Maria but the entire cast was outstanding. Well worth seeing.

So glad to have seen the show. We saw this many years ago up in Chicago also performed by community players. This was just as good if not better, and the singing was absolutely wonderful. Strong voices, good harmony. The “adult kids” on the stage really seemed to enjoy what they were doing.

Really good presentation. Nice venue. Chairs are good vs some other places. Leader, piano player is very talented and grows on you. Just a real nice night out every 6 weeks. 5:00 to 7:00 then time to go out for a bit of cool aid b4 home.
Tabernacle Baptist Church, built in the 1840s by Beaufort Baptist Church as a meeting house and lecture room, features a striking carpenter Gothic facade with arched windows that extend to the steeple. In 1863, Reverend Soloman Peck acquired the building and organized an African American congregation of 500 members from Beaufort Baptist Church. Led by Reverend Kenneth F.
I haven't had the pleasure of going to service here, but was able to spend time with Rev. Hodges. If you want rich history of Beaufort and Gullah Geechee History Rev. Hodges is the man to see. We had the pleasure to spend a good amount of time with him and he gave us an amazing history lesson on the area!!

I have been a member of this church for 20 years. I have enjoyed every minute of it. Rev. Kenneth F. Hodges has been its Spiritual Leader for over 25 years. I have not been disappointed. Congregation has gotten smaller because of children who have grown up moved away and some members have gone on to glory. You will never feel the same after a Sunday Service.

I've never been here, but inspired by the statue of Mr. Smalls in an age of handouts and enabling people instead of people just putting forth effort and hard work. I wish I could have met him.

The Atelier Off Bay Art Gallery is a beautiful and diverse venue with an interesting and diverse collection of artists. The quality of their work has increased significantly in recent years, making it a must-visit for art enthusiasts. Getting to meet the artists in person is truly an experience worth having, and purchasing original art directly from them is a highlight of every visit!
This galley is a true hidden gem! As an avid art collector I felt like a kid in a candy store from the moment I walked in. Getting to meet and watch the artists work was worth the visit in itself! I’ll definitely be visiting here on my next visit and commissioning a portrait by Jennifer Wharton! Her work is amazing.

This is an art gallery like no other. It’s inside a beautiful historic building and many of the artists are there at any given time. Watching them work is a real treat. I live here in Beaufort and I still stop in frequently just to get inspiration and soak it all in.

Beautiful venue with an interesting and diverse collection of artists. I have noticed a significant increase in the caliber of work and artists working here since I first visited many years ago. There is nothing like meeting the artist in person, seeing them at work and purchasing original fine art directly from the artist!
