Antelope Canyon is a famous slot canyon located on the Navajo Reservation in Arizona, known for its unique angles and beautiful light shafts. This incredibly photogenic natural wonder is carved out of sandstone by wind and water, creating a mesmerizing temple of nature where light and shadow dance together. The symphony of shapes and textures make it an ideal destination for photographers looking to capture the beauty of this geological marvel.
I was very fortunate to visit Antelope Canyon on April 19th,2022. You can’t judge it by it’s photo. You do need to see it in person and feel it’s own beauty. Face mask still mandatory there, that’s the federal and tribal law. Best to book tickets online. Best way to visit with plan ahead.

Wow, what can you say about this place? It was truly amazing. The colors and the way the waters have formed the canyon are fabulous. We visited the upper canyon. You must buy tickets for a tour, you can not go into the canyon without a Navaho guide. You take a short ride in bus/truck to the entrance of the canyon. They have relaxed the mask mandate. Our tour guide was very helpful in getting us great pictures and was very informative. The whole tour takes approximately 1.5 hours. At the end of the tour you have to go up an incline on an aluminum walkway, I don't consider myself to be in very good shape, but we just took it slow and had no problems. Then you have to go down more steps and another declining walkway to the bus. It's not a cheap tour, but I felt it was worth it. The beauty is breathe taking.

Simply nature at it's best. We booked the trip with Navajo guide team and the journey to the canyon is 3+ miles through a Sandy road way. And it was a good bumpy ride . And the canyon was spectacular.

This place is a MUST. Forget about Grand Canyon. This experience is unique. You can not visit the canyon on your own. We visited the lower part of it, and it was amazing. We paid around 102$/person.

We decided to visit Antelope Canyon for New Year's Eve. It was an amazing experience. We took the tickets in advance, a month in advance. The canyon itself has two tiers to visit, upper and lower, we visited the upper one. The best time to visit is 12 o'clock, at this time the sunlight falls so that illuminates all the walking trail in the canyon. Unfortunately there were no seats available for this time and we were there at 10:30, but it was no less beautiful. First we arrived at the gathering place, from there we were taken by buses to the canyon, it's close by, about 10 minutes drive. You can't get there on your own, as it is a private territory of an Indian tribe. On the spot, the guide led our group to the canyon, while telling about the history of the canyon. The guide also took photos on phones. It was my first time at the canyon and I loved it and was delighted by the beauty created by nature! Next time we plan to visit the lower tier of the canyon. I recommend everyone to visit this creation of nature at least once in a lifetime, believe me it is worth it!

AMAZING! At the time we went, they made us wear masks even in pictures. The tour ppl were nice. We did have enough time to take pictures. We went to Canyon X of the canyon and first went into one area and then walked to a different part of Canyon X.

Visited the lower Antelope Canyon with my family. I advise reserving the visit well in advance l but it is well worth any waiting time. This is by far one of the most beautiful natural attractions I ever visit.

The most beautiful canyon!
You can visit only with an organized tour, so make sure you make your reservation in time. And visit in the prime time, the sun penetrates the canyon and you get to experience the most amazing sights.

Tremendously phenomenal!!! I love the Antelope more than the Grand caynon. You can feel the sacred atmosphere. Literally down-to-earth experience. A native American guide helps you move around the area and takes wonderful pics. My guide, Jessica is amazing! Thanks for sharing this historic and iconic place.
Please never climb up the caynon rock. It is risky for yourself and disrespectful for the natural monument. Let us keep here for our future generations.
You'd strongly recommended to make a reservation before walk-in.

Amazing place to visit…!
Grading 5 stars for Park
Grading 1 star for admission 🤜😭( greedy Indian tribe)
Be aware there cost to go in this place, it’s not National Park, it’s owned by Indian Tribes. Cost $80/per person to go in upper Antelope and $72/per person for lower Antelope, you have to book tour to go in this place, there no other access to go in without tour.
With my opinion, lower Antelope much better than upper, if you decide to go in upper first than you have to go in lower. If you go in lower so you don’t have to spend money/time to go upper.

Antelope Canyon in Arizona is a natural wonder that left me utterly awestruck. This fully guided tour through the upper Antelope Canyon is an experience I will cherish forever.
Fully Guided Tour: From the moment you arrive, it's evident that the safety and enjoyment of visitors are paramount. The tour guides are not only knowledgeable about the canyon's history and geology but also deeply passionate about sharing its beauty. Their expertise adds an educational dimension to the adventure.
Upper Antelope Canyon's Allure: The upper Antelope Canyon is truly the crown jewel of this natural wonder. The way the light beams filter into the narrow sandstone crevices, creating an ever-changing kaleidoscope of colors, is nothing short of magical. It's a visual symphony of reds, oranges, and purples, dancing on the smooth, curved walls of the canyon. The interplay of light and shadow creates an otherworldly atmosphere that captivates your senses.
The Light Beams: One of the most enchanting moments of the tour occurs when you witness the sunlight penetrating the narrow opening at the top of the canyon. The resulting beams of light, often referred to as "shafts," are like celestial spotlights, illuminating the canyon's depths. They change in intensity and color as the sun moves across the sky, providing a dynamic and ever-evolving spectacle that photographers and nature enthusiasts alike will adore.

The Antelope Canyon is one of the unmissable attractions in a West Coast travel. I visited the Upper one with "Antelope Slot Canyon Tours", I don't know the cost because I booked through a travel agency months in advance. The tour starts from the center of Page and there's a 20 minutes travel with an off road vehicle to get to the entrance. The actual visit lasts from 45 minutes to an hour, but the pace is quite fast because there are a lot of groups that must flow smoothly. Our guide was a fun guy, who took photos of us, also suggesting the sweetest spots to take them. Really an amazing experience.

Great place to visit. You should check and book your ticket in advance. I do not recommend any walk-in. Also, make sure that they are open the day you gonna go before you start driving. It can be 8+ hours of round trip from Vegas only to know that they are closed for various reason like flooding, etc.
No kids under 8, plan accordingly.
No bags of any kind is allowed, carry a water bottle though.
There is a half a mile of hike on the return, get ready for some work out!
How good the tour is, depends solely on your guide. So good luck on that! Fortunately, we had a fantastic guide who explained each and every intricate details. As of this review, he go by Blue Sky and works with Adventurous Antelope Canyon Tours.
Best months to visit: June and July
Best time: 11 am to 2 pm for the best lighting.
Less crowd: 3 pm tour. You get more time to spend.
There are several scenic spots, stop by.

Breath taking site, that you must see. The views are just fantastic, almost unreal.
Be aware it’s better to come towards midday as, the sun is at the best position to enjoy the canyon. Also make sure you book with the excursion as you must be with a guide to visit the canyon

It was an unforgettable experience.
The upper antelope canyon is very attractive, especially after the light beams enter into the canyon, changing different light colors and giving a different view.
It is fully guided tour .The tour guides are all Indian.
Best timing to see the proper light beam is 11 am -12 pm in summer.

First Time there. Amazing! Went there in a weekend, with a guided tour. I was impressed by few things: you get into this wonder just in the middle of nowhere through a very well organised routine, setup to avoid losing tourists… 😅. Local guides explain the strict rules (appreciated) to follow, and then you get into the belly of the hearth discovering something unique. This is a magic from the nature. Place is perfectly kept, maniac clean and each stop and explanation reveals the hidden secrets of this place. Wanna take some good photo? Just ask the guide to show the woman in the wind, the UFO and all the hidden natural sculptures… and find also yours (I had the impression to take photo of a something new… like a mummy… see in photos). Must see!

An amazing experience !! As soon as you see the hidden gem you will be amazed how nature has painted this beautiful canvas. Every part tells a story and how the reflection of light plays a beautiful hide and seek game , providing you some breathtaking pictures to remember for lifetime. I would highly recommend anyone who is planning to visit. You would need guided tours and tickets to visit this beauty.

Amazing experience.
We booked the group tour for the upper canyon, and everything went well. Our guides gave us the details then drove us to the sites and spent a while explaining the backgrounds of the canyon origins.
We indulged in its beauty and glory - have to see it to believe it cause what we see on TV and on computer backgrounds of these photos, would not do justice unless seen in person.

Antelope Canyon is one of the most beautiful places I have visited. I joined a day trip tour from Las Vegas. It was a long ride on the tour bus. But it was totally worth it as soon as I saw Antelope Canyon. I can’t believe how beautiful it is, and the tour guide was very knowledgeable about taking pictures in the canyon and shared the secrets with us. I’m glad I saw all these gorgeous views, not just in photos.
Michael W. — Google review
First off, the colors and shapes of the canyon walls are straight-up mind-blowing. You’ll feel like you’re walking through a surreal painting with every twist and turn.
The light beams that sneak through the cracks and bounce off the walls? Yeah, they’re like something out of a fantasy movie. Get your camera ready because you’re gonna want to capture every magical moment.
Exploring the canyon is a blast, too. Whether you’re squeezing through narrow passages or admiring the towering sandstone formations, every step feels like an adventure.
Pro tip: book a tour with a local guide. They know all the best spots and can fill you in on the history and legends behind this incredible place.

Must visit if you are near Arizona.
For some of us the visit may seem expensive, but it is worth every dollar.
If you're visiting in summer expect the place to be absolutely crowded, but you will be able to see light beams.
If you're visiting in the winter, the groups will be small (10 ish people), but the lighting conditions will be worse

Highly recommend Upper antelope canyon to whoever is visiting the South Rim.
I’ve not been to the lower antelope but I’m sure that is equally breathtaking.
You will need reservations to get here and there are a few tour companies available. I had booked with Sightseer’s tour and loved the experience. Our tour guide was very informative and shared all the best ways we could get shots of the canyon :)

This is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been with these gorgeous slot canyons that have beautiful cave like structures and rock formations. Visiting Upper Antelope Canyon was an awe-inspiring experience! The beauty of the natural rock formations, the play of light and shadows, is beyond words. The guided tour was informative, and our guide was fantastic in explaining the geology. It's a must-visit if you're in Page, Arizona, and an absolute feast for nature lovers and photographers alike.
Horseshoe Bend, located just three miles from the center of Page, Arizona, is a must-see attraction. A short half-mile hike leads to an overlook where you can capture iconic photos of the Colorado River's unique bend. Consider taking a rafting trip on the river for an even closer experience. Sunset is the ideal time to visit, as it creates stunning photo opportunities with the sun setting behind the bend.
Amazing iconic scenic view. 1/2 mile walk from large parking lot. Pit toilets. Entrance fee goes to the city of Page.

$10 entry fee per vehicular. Worth it. It’s about 1/2 mile walk from the parking lot to the scenic view area. It’s so darn beautiful. I went at sunrise and I was the first one there and the only one for about a minute. I loved it. Great to explore and classic south west view.

Omg is all I can say. This is one of the most breathtaking views I have ever experienced. Absolutely my favorite vacation experience to date! Easy walk to the bend from parking and there are bathrooms in the parking area.

So worth the drive! Make 100% sure that you go during sunset. The sun sets right behind the center of the horseshoe and makes for amazing photos.
Parking is 10$ and there Is a 10 minute easy walk to the view point.
There are guardrails up around some locations but most of the viewing area is natural. Be careful when taking photos. Make sure you have your phone secure with a lanyard.
Go a bit early to get great placement to take pictures. I found the left side is best for capturing the entire bend. Hope this helps people.

This place is so awesome, the pictures do not do it justice! The views are so amazing. There are tons of places to walk around for pictures. There is a 20 minute walk down to the cliff. It is very maintained and easy to walk on. There are a ton of people going back and forth. Some of the people there are dare devils, sitting on cliffs dangling their feet over and standing on the edge make it pretty uncomfortable to watch. Be prepared for that, we were not. There are no employees at the site, so anything goes. They do charge $10 a car to get in. It is worth the $10 and the short walk to it! If we ever go back to Page, we will definitely go see this wonder again!

Horseshoe Bend is truly a breathtaking sight. The sense of scale as you look out over the bend in the Colorado River is truly awe-inspiring. The vastness of the landscape and the deep blue of the water make it a truly special place to visit.
One downside to visiting Horseshoe Bend is the heavy crowds. It can be difficult to find a good spot for taking pictures, as everyone is trying to get the perfect shot. Despite the crowds, it is still worth visiting, as the views are truly spectacular.
My wife also loved Horseshoe Bend. She was equally as impressed by the scale of the landscape and the beauty of the water. We both found it to be a truly memorable experience and would definitely recommend it to others looking for a unique and special place to visit.
Overall, Horseshoe Bend is a must-see destination for anyone visiting the area. The views are truly stunning, and the sense of scale is truly awe-inspiring. While the crowds can be a bit of a downside, it is still worth visiting to take in the beauty of this unique and special place.

At Horseshoe Bend — 📍Horseshoe Bend, Page, AZ
Horseshoe Bend was within 5 mins of Antelope Canyon and 2.5 hours from Grand Canyon. The cost was $10 for a car to park and free to hike it. The hike was a bit less than .5 miles down and .5 back but in complete sun, no shade. (Make sure you SPF and bring water 😆) There’s one walkway in and out. The walkway is fine gravel, which makes it kid, pet and stroller friendly. You could wear sandals/slides if you aren’t looking to climb high up on the rocks for better views or adventure. For kids and people who don’t care for heights, there are gated areas where you can also view the bend if edges make you nervous. Total time it took was about 1 hour. But you could stay and sit on the edges as long as you’d want but no re-entry after you leave the parking lot. We went on a Wednesday around 3:30pm and it wasn’t too crowded but definitely many people. I was told by locals the best time to visit is a weekday sunrise due to less people, less heat and beautiful lighting. The next best option would be sunset. Locals said that the sun setting is next best because the view is equally beautiful, heat is also less, but more people. The Bend is open from sunrise to sunset. There is also a few nights a year that they keep it open to do star gazing!! you can find dates on the website. 😍🌌

Such a beautiful viewpoint of the Colorado river in Arizona. Pictures don’t do it justice this place is spectacular. Magical. Yes, it's a tourist thing. But it's incredible to see. Be aware of your surroundings. It only takes a second if you slip. Don't be that person. Enjoy the natural beauty of this iconic wonder. It's not bad of a walk. Take water with you. Be careful. Wear good shoes. Not flip-flops.

Such natural beauty. You can see Horseshoe Bend and Antelope Canyon in the same day. The parking lot was recently made bigger for the summer crowds. We visited at the end of March. The walk from parking lot to the overlook is 15 to 20 minutes each way. Very easy granulated path to walk.

Beautiful place. Bring plenty of water and wear hats if hiking in summer as it gets hot walking from the parking lot to horseshoe bend. Lots of areas near the overlook with no fences and just a straight thousand feet drop so be careful when taking those social media photos.

As we embarked on our journey from the Grand Canyon, passing through the captivating landscapes of Marble Canyon, and crossing into the enchanting state of Utah, we found ourselves in awe at the breathtaking beauty of Horseshoe Bend in Page. This natural wonder proved to be an unforgettable experience.
While the park entrance was delightfully free of charge, we encountered a slight twist in the town's requirements – a $10 parking fee to secure a spot in the lot. However, undeterred by this minor inconvenience, we decided to proceed with our adventure, eager to witness the marvel that awaited us.
The hike to Horseshoe Bend was an adventure in itself, a half-mile trek leading us through rugged terrains and stunning scenery. Each step brought us closer to the majestic river bend, anticipation building with every passing moment.
Arriving at the edge of the bend, we were instantly captivated by the sweeping views that unfolded before our eyes. The gentle curvature of the river wrapped around the landscape, creating an awe-inspiring spectacle of nature's artistry. As the golden hour approached, the setting sun painted the sky with hues of orange and pink, casting a magical glow over the bend, leaving us speechless.
Despite a modest crowd gathering to witness this natural marvel, the vastness of the location provided ample space for everyone to soak in the beauty without feeling cramped. The sense of serenity and tranquility that enveloped us was remarkable, allowing us to immerse ourselves fully in the grandeur of Horseshoe Bend.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, bidding farewell to the day, we felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude for being able to experience such an extraordinary sight. Horseshoe Bend had left an indelible mark on our hearts, and we departed with unforgettable memories etched into our souls.
Indeed, Horseshoe Bend is a destination that belongs on every traveler's bucket list. Its unassuming charm, coupled with the grandeur of nature, guarantees an experience that will resonate with you long after you've bid farewell to its scenic splendor.

Worth the stop. Short, easy walk to the attraction. Lovely at sunset but tons of people, making it hard to take good pictures. If that matters to you, get there 20-25 minutes early to snag the best spots although people tend to be nice and will move to let you take photos. We were there in October. Can’t imagine the hoards in summer.

Beautiful view. Some parts have railing, but if you walk further along, there is nothing keeping you safe, so be careful. There was a good number of people when we visited in September, but we still managed to get a good view and snap pictures without anyone in them.

Horseshoe Bend has a beautiful view with a chance to get good exercise. The best view of Horseshoe Bend is up on the hills with a long uphill walk. A fantastic place to visit. Something I'd always hoped to see as a Brit and my son and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
First off, it's $10 to park up and enter the site for a car load. There's a relatively short and winding path to the actual viewing point, with one shaded area to take cover under about halfway along it. If you are infirm it could be a bit of a slog but the path is smooth, until you arrive at the viewing point, as then it could be a little tricky, especially if you want to wander around the area.
The viewing area for the square on shot has a railing barrier in place to protect the clumsy but the rest of the cliff face is unprotected, so it's up to you how you angle your shots and how close you stand to the edge!
We enjoyed the changing colours, as the sun moved about and the very few clouds in the sky, occasionally moved in front of it.
We spent about 30 minutes in the area taking pictures and that was more than enough for us, as we enjoyed this magnificent sight.
There was probably over 100 hundred people there, coming, going and on the area, when we were there but everyone was polite and helpful to others, especially if they wanted help with a photo!
It had an all round excellent vibe to it. Oh and by the way, the pictures we took, were at about 16:00.

Beautiful view!! Amazing sight!
There's a gravel path down to horseshoe bend. It's an easy and short hike down and hike back up. At the viewpoint there's a platform built and railing. So you can look at horseshoe bend without feeling like you're going to fall off a cliff which is how it used to be. But you can still go on the sides of the platform which does not have a railing. It's so cool to see!
They have bathrooms (non flushing toilets). It's $10 per car and there's tons of parking available. Definitely worth it!
Lindsey Hunt — Google review
One of the most stunning places included in the grand canyon! You can get there with your car, you have to pay for entry, then leaving the car in the parking lot, you have to walk for half an hour to get to the horseshoe. In addition to the unusually beautiful view, you need to be very careful, as a huge number of tourists walk right at the cliff, climbing on the rocks and stones, it is possible that all this can collapse at any time, no one guarantees your safety, you can also accidentally push someone, so you need to be extremely careful. The view from the rocks on the horseshoe leaves no one indifferent, one more grandiose creation created by nature, I advise you to visit if you will pass by!

Horseshoe Bend is a natural wonder that you absolutely must visit if you’re in the Page, Arizona area.
Horseshoe Bend is situated near the town of Page, Arizona, close to the border of Utah and the Grand Canyon. Its horseshoe-shaped meander of the Colorado River creates a stunning vista.
The overlook point is accessible via a relatively easy hike from the beginning of Grand Canyon National Park. The trail is approximately 1.5 miles and offers incredible views.
Since there isn’t much shade along the desert hike, remember to bring a hat, sunscreen, and plenty of water. The trail is well-maintained, making it suitable for all ages.

This is such a great place to stop. Unfortunately, it gets really packed with people who wander everywhere, even though they tell you to stay on the trail. It was sad to see how rude people can be. We did enjoy seeing the canyon.
Lower Antelope Canyon is a vibrant slot canyon located in Navajo Nation near Page, Arizona. The only way to explore it is by joining an organized tour with authorized operators appointed by the Navajo Nation Parks. Visitors can access the entry point on foot from a few visitor centers, and two separate tours are needed to experience the whole canyon: Upper and Lower Antelope Canyon. The beauty of this scenic spot is indescribable, and words cannot do it justice.
This was the highlight of our trip to Arizona. The views in the lower canyon were so stunning we were speechless countless times. The canyons are beautiful. The lower canyon has some steep steps and very narrow slots to squeeze through. It’s very cool and beautiful.
Fortunately, because of Covid, they are limiting the number of people in a group and that can go down at any one time. It’s a little disjointed, but that’s on the tour company - not the canyon. The canyon was a surreal and unforgettable hike and I would urge anyone within 100 miles of Page to make it a priority. Photographers heaven. Make sure to change the camera to warm colours and just enjoy the spectacular scenery. One of the most Photograph places on earth.
Our tour to the Lower Antelope Canyon was an experience to behold. The whole tour, from start to finish, was simply beautiful. The colors in the sandstone, with light, taken from various angles was awe inspiring.

Lower Antelope canyon entry point is accessible by walk from couple of visitors centers by various tour operators authorized by Navajo Nation Parks.
We payed $86 for tour.
Words don't give enough justice to canyon beauty.
We visited on end of December and it was really difficult to find available place.
Navajo Nation is very serious with mask mandate. They don't kid when they say you will be expelled if you do not wear mask.

If you are travelling to Arizona, this place is a must. The tour pricing will vary depending on whether or not you are booking online or booking in person. However, if you book in person, the prices are sometimes cheaper with the risk that you may not get a tour slot. The tour is about an hour long, but the best part is that the majority of it is spent walking and taking pictures rather than having to hear boring pointless facts about the canyon that can be explained in under 30 seconds. Overall, I would really recommend you check out this place for its natural beauty. It is truly one of the most remarkable sights I have seen in the world.

Cool place to go once. You have to know about the time difference. Navajo Nation recognizes daylight savings time (so your clock will go 1 hour forward and back multiple times), BUT THEY GO BY PHOENIX AZ (MST) time! Tour guides are nice and take photos for you. They know all the right spots. We got the deluxe package vs regular. Deluxe gives you a genuine Navajo taco, a dream catcher, catalog with nice pics, and a post card. Also with deluxe you are in a group of 6 vs 20 some people. We had Dillon as a tour guide and he was great.

Lower Antelope Canyon is just beautiful. Please be advised if you have walking restrictions or have intense fear of heights, this place might not be for you. We had to walk down a steep staircase to enter the canyon. I have a little fear of heights so I could still manage but the travel guide said that he has witnessed many people back out at the last minute they reach the staircase.
Always book your ticket in advance, the place tickets sells out really fast and can be a disappointment if you reach there and are not able to see the canyon.
They still follow the mask rule. So you mandatory have to wear masks but they let you take them off when you click pictures.

Wow what an amazing place. Go check out the Lower Antelope Canyon. It is breathtaking. The Lower Antelope Canyon is a bit more challenging but still doable. The Higher Antelope Canyon is easily accessible by all people whereas the Lower Antelope Canyon is a bit more tricky but is also more beautiful. I visited the Lower Antelope Canyon wirh Ken‘s Tours and I can highly recommend it. We had a great Tour Guide named Francis and he explained everything very well and showed us how to take the best pictures.

So happy to finally check this off my list of “have to see” places. Although I think out of one of those sites that never gets old, no matter how often you go.
We had a lovely guided tour through the Canyon and really enjoyed the high vibrational energy of this sacred space.
If going in late December, like we did, I would recommend bringing a medium/ heavy weight jacket, a hat, and gloves. As it gets really cold down there in the shade.
What more can I say, nature is amazing!🤩
Things to mention: there are about 4-6 areas with stairs (if you consider two to three small step areas stairs). The first set of stairs into the canton does have a section where you need to go down backwards or sideways (do it backwards for sure). The terrain itself is easy but you may need to turn your body or angle your head a certain way in very few places.
If you have mobility issues that prevent you from altering your movements then I would not recommend going into the canyon.
If your mobility issues are just that of a slow, cautious turtle then you should be fine.

A truly magical place where great pictures can be taken.
Please note the time difference if you are coming from Monument Valley and DST time is announced. The tour providers operate according to the time that applies in Page, i.e. one hour before DST. In the worst case scenario, you would be an hour early.
Be sure to book tickets in advance, as only small groups with a guide are allowed into the Lower Antelope Canyon. For people with claustrophobia or poor physical condition, it is better to book the Upper Canyon. It goes almost 30 meters down into very narrow gorges! 😉
Many thanks to our guide, who was very patient when taking photos and also proactively pointed out the best spots to us. Our tour was one of the last of the day and lasted just under two hours.
I would book again at any time

Nature's Sculpted Masterpiece. Descending into the canyon is like stepping into a cathedral of light and shadow. The smooth sandstone walls curve and twist, revealing stunning patterns and hues at every turn

Jaw dropping, awe-inspiring and totally breathtaking scenery at the Lower Antelope Canyon. This place is a must visit (check out Ken Tours) during a visit to the beautiful town of Page, Arizona.
Not to be mistaken with the other nearby canyons (Upper Canyon or Canyon X) which have their own charm and beauty, the Lower Canyon tour offers a guided walk through the canyon floor with plenty of time to explore sand rock formations and options for those Instagram pics.
Our tour took about 40 minutes in a group of 7 to 8 adults per group. The descent included taking steep stairs, and some of the passages are narrow, but the experience is totally worth it. Highly recommend visiting for an experience of a lifetime.

One Must See Lower Antelope Canyon in the USA!!! Such A Beautiful Place.
This is one of the most beautiful places I have visited in the USA. This is also a great spot for photographers. Every photo captured can be used as a beautiful wallpaper.
But this place requires guided tours and we must book in advance as the tickets are sold faster. We have booked this before 2 weeks of travel. The tour guides are expensive but this place is worth every penny. During monsoon this will be closed so better to visit this place in winter as there won't be fear of cancelling trips.
These Canyon are naturally formed due to the flash floods. During the rain this place is closed for our safety since there will be a high risk of flash flooding and people will be stuck here. We were lucky to see both lower and upper antelope canyon and both places were spectacular. This place begins with the going down with the steep ladders. Then we go through straight path and there were small steps to climb up. This requires total 1 hour of walking. Then there will be narrow paths in between and that will be amazing experience. Then we climb up. We captured many photos. Morning time is perfect to visit the canyon.
The main difference in the lower antelope and upper is the lower antelope is V shaped and it is adventurous like going down about 70 feet, walking in the narrow path whereas upper antelope canyon is upside down V shaped and it has broader paths to walk and it is also spectacular. The upper antelope is darker than the lower and the best suitable time to visit the upper canyon is between 11 and 1 pm as we can see the light beam entering the inside the canyon.
Bring your camera to capture the photos and water bottle to keep yourself hydrated. Selfie sticks are not allowed.

What a really cool canyon! It has so many cool twists and turns and cool formations to look at.
Having done both upper and lower canyons, I can recommend doing both. They're different experiences and both great.
Upper is for the photographer and the keen lover of the light.
Lower had opportunities for photos, but is better suited for the person who wants to get out there and have a longer tougher walk through an incredibly cool twisting tunnel of rocks. It has many stairs and narrow passages, so good mobility is needed.

Great photo opportunities everyone? Place to go to see sandstone carvings made by wind and mostly water, when sun is lower you bet the most colorful effects I’ve ever seen in real life. No need for photoshop

So we did the tourist thing / w Ken's Tour of Lower Antelope Canyon. Our tour guide was a lovely young native lady named Dawn. Our group was packed with other groups due to bad weather from previous days. The canceled groups came with us. Understandable. I'm from Arizona so I get it. Monsoon and El Nino. We stayed at the end so that we could try to enjoy it after everyone moved on, but the same Japanese couple from the next group kept getting in my shots. Oh well. They had to travel further than us, so I understood how important this was to them, bucket list and all. All in all, I just wished I had a little more time and privacy but this is a business and they gotta make their money.

Spectacular slot canyon with beautiful colors and striations. It's entirely within Navajo Territory, so you need to book a tour and be escorted by a guide. But they do a great job of keeping things moving, keeping groups small, and showing you the best places to take pictures. Amazing experience!
Waterholes Canyon is a region of arid reservation land featuring stunning sandstone slot canyons. The area is relatively uninhabited, providing visitors with a peaceful and secluded environment to explore the natural beauty of the canyons. The hike through the slot canyons is an amazing experience, offering breathtaking views of the unique rock formations and exquisite lighting. Tour groups are not typically overcrowded, allowing for an intimate exploration where visitors never feel rushed or pressured to move quickly through the tour.
Amazing beautiful slot canyon hike. Not crowded with other tour groups. Never felt pressured to move quickly through the tour.

If you want to avoid big crowds and see beautiful canyon at the prices that don’t bite, then this experience is for you! 81$ a person, small groups, 1-1,5 hr walk, enough time to take pictures in every location, and a very experienced guide. Canyon is similar to Antelope Canyon but less deep.

Loved this trail. I've always heard about antelope canyons but this is a hidden gem. At first we were bummed to learn that we needed to have a tour guide to get into the canyon, but he made our experience much better than it would've been. Our tour guide Jason was very knowledgeable and showed us all of the best photography places. It felt like a private tour, with only my family and two others on the tour. Their limit is 12 people per tour which provides ample time to take photos and ask questions. It was $55 per person. The hike itself was easy, but definitely hot. I'd recommend bringing two or three water bottles with you, in a backpack. I wore Chacos and I was fine, but the sand got hot and wished I had closed toe shoes on for parts of it. Overall, I'm so glad we got to experience this and I for sure will be recommending this place to friends & family.

Loved this canyon. We were a group of 5 adults. Wanted the Antelope Canyon experience with less people and we got just that. One other couple in our group and our guide, Ryan, and we never saw another person. The canyon was fantastic. Our time was for 11 am to get sun shining through the slot areas (but also hot, so prepare). Highly recommend.

All <anything> Antelope is a segment of a long "chain of chained" canyons.
They are visually the same. The distinction is ... the people.
This is their land. They live and work there. To the best of their capabilities.
Could an investment bank build a better parking lot, cleaner restroom ? No doubt. Glad it won't happen anytime soon.
On the tour itself: mind your waist; it might not fit in between the sand waves. Passages are really tight.
Cameras: naturally hanging on some variation of the Black Rapid
might not be your best option. Peak Design 20L won't let you through. Resume: optimize your carry-on gear.
There will be several ladders: make sure your straps are not impeding your decent.
We bought the tickets using the service depicted on the attached business card. Enjoy your visit!
Hope this helps.

Love the hike it’s 2.5. One thing that I didn’t like was that we had to wear a mask, because Navajo Nation requires it. But other than that it was great, Malcom was an amazing guide & told us a lot about Navajo Nation & about the canyon. I haven’t been on the Antelope canyon but I know you have to make a reservation before hand, also the groups are big, but here we were a group of 6 & had a lot of time to take pictures. Price was $81 per person

great experience, we loved this tour! we got to see the beautiful canyon with the perfect lighting ( and got amazing pictures !!). It wasn’t crowded at all, in fact it almost felt like a private tour, and our guide was super interesting! we strongly recommend this tour !!!
The Glen Canyon Dam overlook, accessible via a brief descent down rock-carved stairs, offers visitors breathtaking views of the river and dam. Constructed in the late 1950s to mid-1960s, the dam created an expansive reservoir, second only in size to another in America. Today, tourists are welcome to enjoy this location's stunning vistas after its opening.
No charge. Lots of parking spaces and a relatively new road.
For the hike, there's a great railing that goes down into the rocks for those who may have a challenging time getting down to the viewing point. You have a great view of the dam and of course of the river, cutting through the rock.
I've been here in both the summer and winter months. The summer is pretty hot and even though it's a relatively short trail, I STRONGLY recommend bringing drinking water to avoid dehydration 💦

Got here for sunrise and enjoyed the stunning views. It was a cold morning and when the sun came out the canyon lit up like gold. The green water flowing through the river, little land patches with sides lit up created a magical view. The trail to walk down to the view ping was slightly slippery and the wavy rocks along the way created an out of the world experience. View of the bow bridge on the dam was extraordinary. Couldn’t get the complete view from this location. Hope to catch good views of the bridge from Carl Hayden Visitor center

We have now been to Page four times and are always impressed by this place and its location.
Just renting a boat/jet ski on "Lake Powell" and spending the whole day on the water, between the sandy/rocky landscape is an absolute experience.
The "Glen Dam Overlook" is impressive and awe-inspiringly high and has no extra protection beyond the designed descent - so that one can impressively see/experience the enormous power of nature.
Page is always a magical place/"Lake Powell"/"Antelope Canyon"/Horseshoe Bend and so much more- which has so much to discover/experience that we are drawn back there again and again.

I stayed at a hotel within walking distance and went to check it out before I left. I'm glad I did! It was quiet, beautiful, and the views were endless on a clear day. The dam is a marvel and the tall canyon walls were something to admire, however, I enjoyed the sandstones along the path the most. There are a few parking spots there but in February it was empty and a great time to view.
Note: there isn't anything here, just a parking area and a trail with some overlooks for free.

The Glen Canyon Dam overlook is a cool place to stop. Great views and the front and back of the dam. Walk either side of the bridge for photo ops of the dam or river. The visitor center has weird hours so be aware of the days and hours they are open. You can get some great pics of the river while getting your steps I !

Such a great day to visit the view.
Timed it well. There has been significant rain before we got there so there was a beautiful waterfall runoff!
Easy hike down some stairs for a great view.

Great view of the dam and a little ways down canyon. A short walk down to the overlook provides the best views. Be careful walking down. The rocks can be slippery from the sand. Myself and another person slipped and fell the few moments we were there. Dam can also be seen from standing on rocks at parking lot.

It is free to go over there. This is an overlook for you to see the dam from afar. The most amazing view was on the left side where you can sit for just one second and look at the river. This little detour that we took was absolutely worth it. Loved the view. There are rails for you to walk down to the scenic section.

Hidden Gem near Antelope Canyon! I absolutely fell in love with this hidden spot, especially when compared to Horseshoe Bend. It offers a fantastic alternative with fewer crowds and an awe-inspiring view of the dam and canyon river. While the trail may be a bit steep, trust me, it's completely worth the effort when you're in Page, AZ. Highly recommended!

This is absolutely worth a stop, excellent views of the dam and Colorado River.
Some things to note;
The sandstone can be quite slick on the walk down to the view point, we watched a woman slip and fall right on her tailbone. There are handrails and it's highly recommended to use them!
The parking is also fairly small and limited. When we arrived (in March) many of the small cars were parked in the RV section leaving no room for big rigs to park. Luckily there was one space left for our 25ft rig. Otherwise if you drive a very large vehicle you may need to park up the hill and walk down.
No facilities, water fountain, informational plaques, or gift shop available, just a standard overlook yet well worth the visit.
Brendon Stinson — Google review
looking at Google Maps I was worried that this place would be a fee area. I was pleased to find a normal-looking overlook with parking and a trail leading down to a nicer view. I was even more pleased to see that the trail leading down was very natural and had a safety handrail.
After parking and walking down, you had to a little shady area and you can see a perfect view of Glen Canyon Dam.
I was taken aback by the beauty of the canyon and the river. That dam is quite a sight as well. I took a lot of videos at this location because that’s what I do and they did pretty well people love seeing the natural beauty out here. I was taken aback myself by the beauty of the canyon and the river.

Please be aware that to get to the lower lookout area you need to be alert and quick on your feet. Lots of slick, sandy rocks in the area and it is definitely not wheelchair accessible.

Quiet spot to get a good view of the dam. There is a trail that takes you down the cliffs a bit for a cool view. This trail is a bit steep so if you’re uneasy on your feet I would not recommend. There were some spots where it was pretty slick with the sand on top of sandstone. My kids were able to make the trek down and back up while holding their hand and the railing.
Wear sturdy shoes, take water and watch your step.

Nice little freebie to throw into your plans, particularly if you are staying in one of the hotels on Scenic View Road. We followed a random sign opposite the entrance to our hotel that promised a scenic lookout point and were very pleasantly thrilled to find the Glen Canyon Dam Overlook. Awesome view of a big bend in the river. Great views of the dam if that’s your thing.

A beautiful overlook of the river and Glen Canyon dam.
It's a fairly short walk, but the steps and trail are very uneven.
Hiking shoes and good balance would help.
There is no charge to visit.

I was on my way to Zion National Park and wanted to check out Glen Canyon Dam, but I did not have a lot of time.
This overlook was perfect. It was free (Horseshoe Bend overlook was $10).
The walk down to the overlook is a bit tricky. Sometimes you are walking on steps and other times uneven sandstone.
But the view is fantastic. You can do some exploring off the path... but just be prepared for the height you are above the river! There are some really good views of the dam and the canyon if you venture around to the other side of the rocks!

Amazing view of dam and bridge. Engineering marvels. Glen Canyon and Colorado River are natural marvels. Great place to take sunset pics. FREE to visit.

This very short walk takes you to a viewpoint on the canyon rim high above the Colorado River. It affords an unparalleled view of the river, the canyon, and Glen Canyon Dam. This scenic view provides spectacular vistas of the Colorado River as it flows through Glen Canyon and of Glen Canyon Dam itself. From the parking area, follow the metal handrail down the uneven rock steps.
Trailhead: From U.S. Hwy. 89, turn west on Scenic View Drive, 1.5 miles (2.4 km) south of Carl Hayden Visitor Center. Take the first road to the right, and park in the parking area at the end of the road.

A fantastic viewpoint to admire the Glen Canyon, Colorado River, and the dam. Just be cautious while walking; being pregnant now, I found it quite challenging. Mind every step and make good use of the handrails!

Enjoy!!
The Carl Hayden Visitor Center, a circular glass-enclosed observation building, is perched 110 feet above the Glen Canyon Dam. This modernistic structure was completed in 1963 to accommodate and educate tourists visiting Lake Powell. Inside, visitors can explore interpretive exhibits on area geology and history as well as an enlightening relief map.
Wow.. What a location. Carl Hayden Visitor Center is one of the must visit places in the region. Indoor museum has great collection of historic and geological artifacts and information. View of the dam, bow bridge and the green water flowing from the dam, green roof of the hydro electric power station, Dinosaur foot print rocks, beautiful canyon and the surrounding mountains make this place a wonder. Easy parking and entrance fee free museum brings lot of tourists to this wonderful place. River flow in both directions is a treat to watch! Souvenir shop inside the museum has decent collection of items to buy.

Very informative, both in terms of the construction of the dam as well as detailed information about the needs and use of the water that the dam manages.
The views of the lake are great.
In one of the exhibits you get a very graphic understanding of how climate change really happens.
BTW, admission is free.

Awesome location to visit. The dam water is so low now.
Visitors center was closed at the time. (Was there early in the morning)
But I did enjoy the views.
No drones allowed due to security concerns. I'm a drone owner. It's understandable.
Be careful not to pull into the bus parking lot. It can be easy to do. Signage is typical government stuff. So it's lacking.
If you don't like heights. Be careful around the edges. And be mindful of rattlesnakes this time of the year.
Enjoy the views!

Tons of information here about Glen Canyon and the history of the dam. One of my favorite fun facts was that if they opened all the floodgates at the same time, the water released could fill 3 Olympic-sized swimming pools every second. If you like those kinds of fun facts and are interested in learning more about the geology of the canton and the construction of the dam, definitely take some time to check out the visitor center and the sweeping views out its windows. Rangers there were helpful and informative and many of the exhibits were interactive.

You will have to pay to enter the reservation. Once we parked we walked down to the visitor center. And there where people waiting with an ATV to take you down to the marina.
The ride was short and fun.
Down at the marina they have a grocery store, bathrooms and a restaurant.
The boat ride was very interested the tour guide talked about the lake and how it was the lowest it had ever been.
Going through the canyon was very peaceful and beautiful. We got to take so many pictures and we got to wall around the boat.

Great to rent a deck boat. Would recommend min 3 hours, hence best half day. However, the fuel price is a rip off with 50% over gas station prices. Also for our two hour trip with lots of swimming they charged us 17.4 gallons. Ridiculous! When we took over the boat with 95% full they said this is due to the levelling of the boat. But for sure the tank was not full as later they filled it up to 100%. We had a $125.00 fuel bill for two hours! Hence be careful. We stayed overnight at the RV park. Modern park, but zero facilities. Also they forgot to build stairs down at the side of the RV park where you get to the store and office and you have to walk the longer way via the entrance/exit of the RV park. Miss planning at its best. Also the $84 for the night was also too much for a place with no toilet, shower, laundry room. I give still three points as we loved the boat trip itself.

The RV park is very clean and the shuttle service and cart service was spot on. We did the boat tours and they were great. The fishing off the dock was fun plus a convienient tackle shop on marina. The staff at the restaurant do not seem to like their jobs and it shows. Sad because it's a great location and huge open restaurant and bar. We went twice to see if maybe it was a fluke. Nah even the second time not a smile to be had.

I loved the shuttle service down to and through the docks.
The water level is way down but the Marina is still floating around accessible via utvs (modified golf carts). Seeing the Massive houseboats on the way to the main area with a restaurant and store.

There's a large fueling dock and over all I was impressed.

Restaurant, gift shop, and bathrooms. You can walk down the long ramp or get a utv ride. Restaurant is decent, great fish and chips. Nice gift shop and clean restrooms. Beautiful views from the docks and yes the whole thing is floating.

I dont give 5 stars very often, but this Marina gets it! The service was absolutely top notch! We arrived on a busy morning still got helped within 20 minutes. It cost $30 to park for a week. But that included an employee on a golf cart with a trailer, to help load your stuff from your car and drive you and your family and all your stuff all the way down to the boat ramp! (Which is quite a ways since the water is so low) For no extra fee! But we did give our driver a small tip and it was welcomed. :)
At the boat dock there was some shade, and picnic tables which was good since we had to wait to be picked up.
There was also a visitors center with a restaurant, an ice cream shop and a gift shop. Don't expect to have good service by that point. As well as their own internet went down and suddenly they could only accept cash.
The Boat area was super busy and nearly full of house boats to the point that our friends couldn't find a spot to park the boat to pick us up... they could use some 20 minute parking spots for boats.

Cons: no on site shower/restrooms. Not a problem however just before this stay we lost our hot water heater. Thankfully fixed before arriving to this park.

I recommend you visit Horseshoe bend and the slot canyons!

Very new cg. Big pads. Clean sites. Wide roads. Easy maneuvering. Some landscaping but not enough for any privacy. Not a fan of the salmon pebbles on each site which get tracked inside it they are pretty. Very hard to find at night IMHO. No sign out front at entrance. Very dark area. Sites are numbered in pads and barely visible. Site # also on power pole but very small and hard to read from street. No signage to direct you to your section. Nice setting and views. AstroTurf was a first for us. Office was hard to find at night except our site was right next to it. Some minor improvements to make it easier to find would be great. Good places to walk dogs. Poop bags offered. The time zones here (and all over Page) are strange and switch between MsT and PsT. You won’t know if your time is right or wrong. So if you have deadlines make sure your phone and watch are in the right zone. Better yet get old fashioned watch and set the correct time to catch tours or deadlines for The Wave lottery.

We took the Antelope Point canyon boat tour. Our initial tour was cancelled due to high winds, so we got rescheduled to the following morning. Aside from the freezing temperatures and chilly winds, the tour was pretty neat. The guide was knowledgeable and shared interesting facts about Lake Powell and the canyon. The captain of the boat was very skilled to navigate through the small canyons and make a U turn at the end. We ended up getting a lot of great photo ops. If it wasn't for the weather, which wasn't within their control, the tour would've been even more awesome.

Truly an amazing place, having a floating dock, marina, and restaurant that moves up and down with the fluctuations of lake Powell

This place is really stunning. The sites have turf and solid pads, which are fabulous for dogs and keeping your rig clean. I was way more impressed than I had anticipated. We didn’t have any activities here. It was just an overnight stop. The only reason I’m not willing to give 5 stars is the showers/bathrooms. There are 2 unisex room. It’s a portable unit containing both. There is no heat and it’s cold there. There are also no hooks to hang clothes on while showering. The room had a lot of flying bugs in it. I opted to skip the shower after feeling how cold it was in there.

You would be crazy not to check this out. We just went out for the day for paddle boating from Flagstaff. Absolutely amazing, and ate at restaurant on the dock. Wear plenty of sun screen..

Antelope RV Park was a great place to stay ! We stayed for 5 weeks. Both Janet and Amy went out of their way to accommodate us and make it a great stay. Quiet Park with friendly folks, beautiful views, good water pressure as well as good sewer and electric. Landscaped very nice and synthetic turf style grass was great for keeping your rv and outside area clean. Marina was nice as well and cart service was at your rv site whenever requested. Restaurant at Marina had good food, although as others have mentioned the workers at the Marina, Restaurant and dock don't seem to enjoy their jobs based on their outward appearance. I'm leaving 5 stars based on my stay at the RV Park. We plan to come back next year ! Thanks again to Janet and Amy for going above and beyond ! Also, a big thanks to Jerry at the valet boat service for getting our boat in and out of the water when needed !

I was a little bit nervous about how it was going to go, but I can honestly say it was super smooth and well worth it. The staff was friendly and helpful and we had a great time on the water. My husband and I had never driven a boat before and they gave us a full lesson explaining how to do everything on the boat. It was July 4 weekend so the waters were quite busy and choppy but it was still a lot of fun. If you’re not comfortable boating and you’re renting the deck boat, which can be a slightly more rough ride, I highly suggest going out when it won’t be too busy. Also be aware that the gas is very expensive. We went out for two hours and the gas cost about $50.

Liked it. Fantastic view. Super clean RV park. Well maintained and well-spaced out.
The Hanging Garden Trailhead is a stunning hiking destination in Glen Canyon, featuring a scenic 1-mile loop that leads to a lush garden nestled amidst sandstone mesas. Suitable for all ages and skill levels, the well-defined trails are paved by natural beauty and offer breathtaking views of red rock formations from vantage points. Dog-friendly and enjoyable before noon when it's cooler, visitors are advised to bring water and refrain from littering on the trail.
Relatively short, but beautiful!! There's another trail you can take as well, that leads you up a mound of red rock to a vantage point. The trails are also very clearly marked, so you can't really get confused! Worth the stop.

Beautiful hiking trail, perfect for any age and level. Trails are well outlined and paved by nature’s beauty. I would have given this place a 5 star review if they had some garbages/recycling bins.
I saw dogs there so it’s pet friendly, would certainly recommend for a nice hike. I would go before noon if you can, as it gets warmer. Bring water. AND DON’T LITTER!

The hanging garden was different, but nothing spectacular. The views from there were fantastic! The hike is easy with a very short steep incline at the end. Very doable. We went on a very windy day with gust in the 40 mph range. I would not recommend doing it on a day like that.

A must-see place while in Page. It's like being on a different planet. I got off of the trail somewhere, so I'm not sure I ever actually saw the " hanging garden. " .. but I didn't mind one bit. The entire place can be explored and is worth exploring. Amazing geological formations and so many gorgeous picturesque views. Plus, it is 100% free to go to. In my opinion, this place is second only to the Horseshoe on the list of don't miss places in Page.
I've spent 29 months finding don't miss free places to camp and explore across this beautiful country. This is a wonderful don't miss free place to explore.

Great exercise, bring water and comfortable shoes. A small free parking lot. There are many ways to hike this trail you can take a nice stroll, or you can do a more difficult hike and go up the hills.

We went in mid-June and it was VERY hot. There are a few places on the trail with shade but for the most part it's open desert. The hike is short and definitely worth it.

Very nice easy stroll with great scenery throughout. We went during the off season in January, so it was soooo quiet with nobody else around and plenty of parking. 😊 It also seemed pretty dog friendly and might have also been a really nice running trail.

Great little spot, I imagine changes during the seasons and the rain levels. Was a little dry while we were here but definitely a nice wee reprieve from the heat!

Lovely little hike - was pretty quiet when we visited in the afternoon. The gardens are surprising but wouldn’t have been worth an hour walk, but was well worth it since the hike overall was beautiful and great to have some quiet and open space!

A small, peaceful, and beautiful hike. You can take your doggies too. We loved it! The doggies and I went early in the morning and had the trail to ourselves. Nothing better than that!

One of our favorite trails near Page. Interesting overview of the area and views of Lake Powell. Amazing panoramic view. Easy trail, good with small children (but not suitable for a stroller). The hanging gardens are a must-see. 45 minutes for round trip with sand, rock and well-marked trail.

Visited this place as we had 2 hours between the 2 tours at antelope canyon. It was a fun hike. Trail is super easy at the start and gets little interesting at the end. Kids enjoyed it so much. I wish the trail could go to the top of the hill.

Nice easy hike in. We brought our 2 dogs. It's pretty neat to look at and I'm glad we went but don't go with super high expectations! Cool views from the top.
Chelsea Chartrand — Google review
This was a fairly easy walk for just about anyone to accomplish. While it was not the most thrilling hike it still made for a nice morning out in nature.
At the end of the hike if you walk up the hill a bit more you can find a nice place for good views and a possible place for a picnic!
Because this trail is fairly easy and accessible it seemed to be more popular. Given that it was popular on the weekend and parking was limited, you may be pushed to create your own spot in the dirt/sand off the side of the road. Big rigs may find it difficult to park if the lot is full.
Brendon Stinson — Google review
Nice hiking trail, well marked and well made. About 1.5 miles round trip to the hanging gardens. Gardens themselves were a little bit anticlimactic, but a nice stroll nonetheless. Not wheelchair accessible, but pretty easy terrain nonetheless. Total trip takes about 30-60 minutes :)
The John Wesley Powell Museum, situated in downtown Page and operated by the local visitors bureau, is a must-visit spot. It offers free admission for families and showcases the history of Colorado River exploration, including information on explorers, local tribes, geology and dinosaurs. The museum also features a trading post where one can purchase souvenirs. Visitors may learn about John Powell's journey through the Grand Canyon at this museum with informative exhibits that even feature items like his bed frame from Maine.
Small but informative museum about the history of Lake Powell. The staff were very helpful on planning where to go to see the lake. There is a gift shop next door for National Park passport stamps and Lake Powell souvenirs.

Wonderful experience with lots of information about the area. Well worth the stop. The map and history put the area into great perspective. Paul was great with lots of knowledge and information! He also reccomended an AMAZING alternate route for our road trip that gave us so many places to see and not fight the crowds!

We only had a very short time to visit but this museum has a boatload (pun intended) of information re: Powell’s journeys in the area. Large, relief map table, photos, and artifacts, all expertly explained by museum staff (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Paul). Stop in! You’ll be glad you did!

For those looking for things to do in Page, you might want to pop into The Powell Museum and Visitor Centre ($3 per person) on N. Lake Powell Blvd. Opening hours are 9am to 5pm daily.
Here you will find a small museum with a handful of rooms which cover several areas of interest. The Colorado River history details reports of early expeditions and pioneer discovery of the region by way of river based trips. This was quite interesting.
We also enjoyed the small section on the history of Page, Arizona. You will learn a bit about the town's founding, the dam project and see pictures from the early days of this community. There are further displays covering human history, geology and paleontology for this region of Arizona, which round out your visit to the Powell Museum.
Overall, the museum exhibitions are rather brief, being made up of fair mix of of text, old photos and displays items - nothing too demanding on visitors. You can conveniently view everything in 20-30 minutes. There is a small gift shop on site where you might find souvenirs worth buying.

A great place to take a break from the heat. The John Wesley Powell Museum is located with the local visitors bureau in downtown Page. The price is right when you consider the cost is free for the whole family. You will get a chance to learn the history of the Colorado River, explorers, local tribes, geology and dinosaurs. Don't forget to check the trading post as there are plenty of souvenirs for everyone.

This Museum is small, but shows pictures and model displays of John Wesley Powell and his explorations. There is an interactive exhibit where one can take a try at grinding corn into flour.
Rim View Trails in Page, Arizona offers a 10-mile loop around Manson Mesa with stunning panoramic views of Lake Powell and Glen Canyon Dam. The trail is popular among locals for walking, jogging, and mountain biking. While the trail provides access to breathtaking scenery, it does not lead directly to the lake. Hikers can choose to explore different sections of the trail or enjoy hidden ponds along the way.
We have not hiked the entire trail, yet. It is a nice walk around the mesa. Great views. Some areas have a lot of dog poop; would be awesome if dog owners would be more responsible. We would call the trail easy, not strenuous at all. A couple of little uphills but no large elevation gains.

New hikes I have found after only living in Page for a decade. The land of awe and no one around. Great place to take the dogs for a run. Close to town but secluded at the same time. Check out these pics.

What views! 9 miles of trails surrounding the up and coming tourist haven of Page Arizona. There is exposure of sections of the trail so if you are a less experienced rider be safe and walk. If you are a beginner you may want to work on your skills before attempting this ride. Or hike it as the views are well worth the effort.

Beautiful scenic views/back drops... It’s where locals go, neat hidden ponds that aren’t in the tourist brochures.... a must see although you should where good shoes and plenty of water. Trails are in good condition, be careful when are walking near the sandstone ridge line, sandstone can and will break away if over stressed....

I run this trail everytime I come down to Page to visit Wahweap Marina. I love the views on the North end. The trail is well maintained and marked. North end has a couple of unauthorized spurs that could be a bit sketchy, but mostly it is also a super safe beginner trail. Perfect for running
Awesome hiking spot, free parking area. The rocks and hiking area are beautiful and breathtaking here. There is a bathroom in the parking lot and a dumpster. We were able to find an area to access the Colorado river from here and we swam, it was a little bit of rock scrambling to do this but worth it.
Kate Scimeca — Google review
Nice free place to go to to cool off if you are near Lake Powell without a boat. You also get a great view of the controversial Glen Canyon Dam. The water is a perfect temperature. I would recommend wearing sturdy shoes on our trek down, the sandstone can be slippery

Beautiful fun, short hike. Gorgeous striated rocks with a great view of Powell. This was a great pullover spot to stretch our legs and enjoy ourselves. If you're traveling and need to pull over for half an hour, this is a great spot to do it.

This was such a fun stop! It's down a dirt road, but drivable by any car. It's one of those that isn't really a hike as much as it is a place to explore. We talked to some folks who said they make it all the way down to the water, but I wasn't quite brave enough to try. Beautiful stop!

Don't miss out on this amazing location. We had the place to ourselves. America is so beautiful. Go to the Hanging Garden Trailhead parking lot and take the gravel road to the left. Continue to the end to the parking lot. Great view of the Glen Canyon Dam. This was a secret gem in our opinion.
Diane Gentile Klimovsky — Google review
There are no actual paths at the end of the chains, but the terrain is navigable by foot. There was a swimming spot, but the water has receded a lot in the last years, and now you have to walk quite a way to the right along the lake to reach a semi-accessible spot at the water. It is NOT an easy or relaxing walk down there. You need good shoes and some semblance of balance and stamina, but if you are healthy and mobile, it is doable. If you enjoy a little bit of excitement, it's a fun outing.
Hannah Corrie (metajinx) — Google review
Overall easy hike, very beautiful views. Seems to be less touristy than other spots in the area, a great way to get close to Lake Powell and see the rock formations closely. Highly recommended.
Ginny Tan — Google review
How can you rate natural beauty anything less than a 5? The Chains is spacious, plenty of parking, quiet besides the occasional Raven dispute over who's getting first dibs on the open trash bin, gorgeous scenery and very photogenic. A great place to get away from the hum drum of the city and enjoy your lunch from a fast food establishment within a 5 minute drive or a self packed picnic of your choice. Afterwards there is plenty to see within walking distance such as The Hanging Gardens or awesome view of the Glen Canyon Dam. There's also swimming allowed in warmer weather for experienced swimmers as there are no life guards. A hikers paradise with plenty of photo opportunity.

Definitely an under visited part of Page the chains and the swell are incredibly beautiful. With gorgeous views of the river, dam and hills. There is no true trail at the swell and is really a pick your own adventure hike that can be as easy or challenging as you want. One of my favorite places in Arizona

Quite the little hike to go for a swim but worth it. Gorgeous area that's not crowed. Make sure you remember life jackets for the littles as the floor drops fast and passing boats make waves.

Awesome hiking spot & local swimming hole. There aren’t cairns or hoodoos to mark the way down, but it’s pretty easy to find your way visually + using AllTrails. Parking is free at the top, & there’s restrooms + trash bins as well.
Page Public Library is a welcoming and resourceful space that offers a family-like atmosphere to its visitors. It has been praised for its intuitive services, such as providing last-minute assistance to a struggling college student in need of a quiet space for an exam. The library also hosts engaging public lectures with complimentary snacks and drinks, and even organizes raffles for exciting experiences like boat tours on Lake Powell.

The Page Public Library was fantastic! We attended a public lecture hosted there which was great, complete with snacks and drinks provided. We were lucky enough to win the raffle from last week's Library and Glen Canyon Conservancy talk with speaker Ralph Burillo (along with several others). Today we boarded the Lady Bird vessel at Wahweap Marina for the boat tour through Navajo Canyon. The day was cool and moisture laden for this time of year and the landscape and lake particularly beautiful. Thank you, Debbie, for procuring this grant and offering the chance for this lovely tour!
The Wahweap Overlook is a popular viewpoint in the Page area, providing stunning panoramic views of Lake Powell and its surroundings. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking sunsets and sunrises from this vantage point, which does not require any national park pass to enter. The Overlook features a spacious gravel parking lot for visitors' convenience. This location is an ideal stopover on the way to Utah or as part of an exploration of the Page region.

Got to be the best sunrise view in Page. I suggest arriving early. Pictures don't do it justice. The colors peaked around 30-45 minutes before actual sunrise. If you come too close to sunrise it won't look as cool although you do get the classic sun low to the horizon photo. Only one other car here.

Wahweap Overlook is a great viewing spot of Lake Powell. We enjoy watching sunrise from the overlook then driving the lake shore drive road while the sun continues rising. Shadows play in the rocks allowing for some fun sights. There is a very large dirt/gravel parking lot with a couple of covered picnic tables. Looks down on Wahweap Marina. This overlook is off hwy 89 and there is no fee station, though I am not sure if it truly a no fee area. We have a National Parks pass so I don't always pay attention to those details.
