The Sundial Bridge is an iconic pedestrian overpass that spans the Sacramento River and resembles a cruise ship on land. Designed by famous Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava in 2004, the bridge's glass deck offers spectacular views of the river and its surroundings. Lit up at night, the bridge's glass path provides an enchanting experience for visitors who enjoy peaceful walks in nature.
I loved this place! This is a nice place for peaceful walks surrounded by nature. The people is really polite and friendly in the Sundial Bridge shop and coffee as well. I was impressed about how much they are encouraging awareness 'avoiding fires in the forests.' Well done! Taking care of our planet is extremely important.

We had a really great time at the Sundial Bridge. Walking on the river walk, the Turtle Bay Museum and checking out the bridge which is very cool.
The Sacramento River has great trails with wildlife all around. The trail near the bridge includes a beautiful garden with educational stops for everyone.
The Turtle Bay Museum and it's grounds were fun for all of us, including my fifteen year old daughter. She interacted with birds in the Parrot House and butterflies, and zipped on the zip-line in the playground.
I'm sure her favorite part was the butterflies though, as we spent well over an hour in the butterfly house.
In the museum there was a hand on educational room that has really fun activities about prehistoric flying reptiles, Pterosaurs.
A whole room displaying replicas of the items discovered in King Tutankhamun.
Pretty fascinating.
There is a cafe that is currently being remodeled but Mosaic Restaurant was open.
If you are unfamiliar with reading it's very hot in the summer months and stays pretty warm until October. I recommend sunblock and if your heat sensitive the indoor part of the museum and Mosaic restaurants during the summer.
Otherwise visit early or in the evening I know they open at 9:00 a.m. the bridge and trails are always open but not all of the grounds.

Beautiful FREE nature and artsy area, connects with a separate parking area on the other side of the botanical garden that closes earlier, so if you want to stay later this is the side to go in at. I am here in the winter, & the sun went down early so I was able to get some nighttime shots. The restrooms are clean, the park was well-kept except I really wish the botanical garden had better signage, many plants had zero signs telling you what they are.

Pretty interesting stop on the way home. It’s been a place my wife has been wanting to see. But now that we have seen the bridge we may want to stop back by to check our the other places like the Turtle Bay Exploration Museum. There was plenty of parking and also changing stations.

Looks like a quite fancy bridge with the glass floor. You may feel the cold water and a different view of the bridge by the river beach. There are some trails for walking in this park. The museum is next to the bridge entrance.

Visited the city over a weekend. Beautiful view of the Redding sunset! Very clean and calm environment. The electric scooters were all dead or on low battery according to the app, so that was kinda of a bummer. Overall though it’s a cool spot :)

It's a great looking bridge in Redding, CA. Crosses the Sacramento river. It is a sundial bridge that gives time based on the sun position throughout the day. River is amazing matches well with the floor of the bride. Water is cold, but it definitely keeps you cool in these hot summer days.

I love taking evening strolls here, especially during sunset time. In the summer that is really the best time to walk my dog since the pavement can get too hot during the day. But the evening time is beautiful to see the sunsets over the water. The lights at the bridge are beautiful as well. There are many different paths to take that keeps my walking route interesting. There are usually people along these paths, especially on the bridge taking picture or in the area down below the bridge. The area down below next to the river is super cool, and helps to cool you down on hot days. I have encountered snakes on the path when it starts to get dark, so be careful and aware, especially with pets.

Beautiful scenery surrounding this incredible landmark. The scenes were elevated by the sun and warmth with the tips of the surrounding mountain range covered in snow! If just for a moment to breathe and enjoy being out and about, this is a must on anyone's Redding list when in the area! Let alone the incredible engineering of the bridge itself!

Great peaceful place 🙏 a big thanks to all the wonderful workers who make this place so clean and secure, it is really hard to find a clean place to have family time here in California. Homelessness is taking over in a lot of great outdoor places, so to see that you guys make sure is safe for families to come and enjoy is just highly appreciated 👏 keep up the good work, and I will be back to relax and enjoy the clean river and side big thanks!

1st time here just passing through town on a road trip but weather was nice enough for a stop. Easy parking & walked from the turtle bay river trail. Weekday afternoon & not crowded at all. Beautiful bridge for walking across. There was fishing boats under & looks like they were definitely having good luck catching. Blue skies with gorgeous clouds but overcast enough where I wasn’t able to see the actual sundial time. Very impressive bridge.

I would recommend going at night...But only if you can afford the somewhat steep $20 ( with a $5 discount for Turtle Bay Members) admission fee to the Glowing Wild event.
According to the flyer,
"Experience Glowing Wild Lantern Festival for the first time at the Sundial Bridge at Turtle Bay Exploration park, featuring 10 acres of botanical gardens filled with larger-than-life Asian lantern displays inspired by wildlife and plants from around the world, great for all ages."
Although pretty amazing and colorful during the day...Apparently at night everything is lit up, hence the Glowing in the name. And about the only animal NOT on display was the raccoon...

The Sundial Bridge in Redding, California, is an architectural marvel and a serene escape. Its stunning design, combining functionality and aesthetics, offers a unique experience. The translucent walkway and the breathtaking view of the Sacramento River make it a perfect spot for a peaceful stroll or a memorable sunset. Surrounded by natural beauty, this bridge is a must-see attraction, a testament to human creativity and ingenuity.
Turtle Bay Exploration Park is a large natural history park that offers visitors a range of attractions, including a museum, botanical garden, and forest camp. While the museum may be on the smaller side and can typically be explored within an hour, the vast park requires several hours to fully explore. The playgrounds are great for children and feature zip lining activities. One of the highlights is feeding the lively parrots or lorekeets.
Amazing park and museum to spend few hours. Museum is quite small and can be done within an hour. The park is huge and takes couple of hours. The playgrounds are good for kids with zip lining and all. Lorekeets /parrots feeding is a blast and definitely do that

Edited: Nice place for kids to learn new things and explore...
Some things didn't seem correctly priced ... $3 for a stick to attract the butterflies... I saw better butterflies outside in the wild! We barely saw 10 simple butterflies that day... maybe it was the heat, it was 110°... Other people's reviews and pictures are 100x nicer than our experience. While it was so warm kids didn't want to play in the park. I'm sure they would have loved it if the heat wasn't as scorching.
The parrots seemed more worth the money... it was $2 for a nectar cup and parrots came straight to you when you get those cups.
The Tutankhamun exhibition was nice... it was scary for the little one though (3 year old, got scared of the animal figures) but the teenager loved it all.

Calling this lovely place a park is an understatement. It is more like an amusement park: a zoo, a museum, several hiking trails, a botanic garden (closed) as well as adventure-style playgrounds. A great place to learn and play with kids. This place is full of love and support from the community.

Took the Family to Turtle Bay Museum for the tree house exhibit. It was so much fun and so many activities to do. My kiddo made a binary bracelet with his initials, chalk art, dressed up in scientist and engineers clothing and got to play in the tree house. The marine exhibit and art gallery exhibit was amazing to view. Our favorite activity is to vote for what to see for future displays. After, we like to go walking to the nursery.

Iris Herron — Google review
I let my assumption of it using the word turtle…that I would see more then 2.
Is this a cool thing to do with kids, yes.
Should you spend 4 hours here for your moneys worth, yes.
The cost is around the same amount I would pay for a zoo with 2x the animals. So I do think the price is a bit stiff.
The building itself didn’t have much animal wise to see. Thus assuming that’s the museum part? But it’s called Exploration park? Which the park (play grounds) is attached to the museum an only accessible via museum tickets. So it shouldn’t show up as a separate google maps pin an parents assume it’s just a park to go to.
That being said. The staff were all wonderful.
The animal show was cool. We loved that they walked the animals close by. Highly recommend if your child can sit for 35 mins an not move nor eat.
Bathrooms, ✔️
There are two play areas an unfortunately people do not know how to read signs. There was a family with larger teens throwing water bottles an jumping in the toddler baby section with their parents. Leaving the area unfortunately unsafe to let the little kids explore safety. There needs to either be a larger more obvious sign or a staff member.
The parrot feeding was super cool. Respect the staff an what they say. If you know your kids can’t handle direction don’t set them up for failure an walk them inside.
The map they give makes it seem like it’s massive an large when it’s really small an the font is hard to read. We missed tons due to time an unsure of where to go.

An excellent spot for families, ideally children.
The inside of the museum is focused on local history, such as the Wintu, Redding in the 20's, local biodiversity, etc.
There's a dedicated hands-on section in the back that's good for young kids.
The backside of the museum is the actual park and quite expansive. There's a sizeable playground for families and an area to interact with exotic and local birds.
Further down is a trail that extends for a mile or so and you can check out small caged areas for hawks or the bobcat.
Definitely an easy way to spend 90 minutes to get an idea of the area.
It's also common to find stray cats nearby as the locals pointed out that there's a gentleman who tends to them.

for over thousand years.
You will find an exhibits
on the building of the
Sundial Bridge, an aquarium with beaver and fish, a
urban watershed river lab,
and local history.
It was raining too hard to
visit the other parts of the
park including a botanical
garden, arboretum, and
a forest camp with a parrot house.
I did stop at the bistro for

I've driven through it many times, but I visited only once when I was a kid, and this place is much cooler than I remembered it. You're actually able to walk amongst some of the ruins. Also, I happened to be there in mid-spring, and the place was blooming with poppies, which provided some amazing photo opportunities.
The courthouse museum was also very interesting and had more variety than I expected. The site is also home to the oldest Masonic lodge in CA.

One thing that did upset me was that I had asked prior to going if I could bring my dog, he's a labrador border collie mix, well behaved and medium size. They said no pets allowed only service dogs-fine I respected that. However, on the day of I show up and there's chihuahuas and pomeranians in line waiting to get in-HOW ARE THOSE SERVICE DOGS? ... I tried to ask one of the personnel checking people in and she said "Really? I didn't see them.. sometimes people with epilepsy need there dog, it helps calm them down". Aside from this they didn't ask for proof of it being a sevice dog.
All I wanted was family pictures. 😭

I come to Redding on business and never seem to have time to get to the Sun Dial Bridge and the trails. This time I did. I loved it. If I lived here I would come every chance I got. I went early when it was cooler. Make the time. Take in the beauty of nature. It heals the soul. There's a nice art walk too. There are restrooms, dogs were on leashes and well-behaved. I toured a small playground that included adult-sized exercise equipment and I came upon two Free Little Libraries, one at the playground and one near the entrance. Bring a book, take a book. There's an overpriced snack place at the entrance and I noticed two security guards, which is a good feature in the times we find ourselves.

WaterWorks Park is an outdoor water park that operates from Memorial Day to Labor Day, offering a variety of pools and slides suitable for all ages. Situated on Market Street at Miracle Mile in Redding, it has been serving visitors since 1994. Although the park was smaller then, it still provided ample fun and entertainment for those who visited.
Love Redding Water park not too big or small just right size and so much different water rides and activities near by. The heat is hot and doesn't bother me much that's why there's a water park. It’s nice to have something like this in town for those hot days the kids need to get out and play. The membership prices are pretty expensive for what’s offered. The food prices are high for the quality. I also would have liked if the park was a little cleaner and kept up better. $28 per visit or $68 per season pass is kinda steep for the quality I think.

I had a season pass to WaterWorks Park throughout the Summer of 1994 when I was 12 Years Old (I'm currently 40). I lived just down Market street at the time & my friends & I would walk up Miracle Mile with our towels in hand,on our way to go down some slides. We had a blast,so much fun & so many memories. I no longer live in Redding anymore, I moved to Oregon in the late 90s & still live here today. I'm amazed that WWP is still open & operating today. It was a lot smaller back then but it didn't matter, there was still fun to be had. I'll never forget those days. 5/5!!

We come to the water park every year with our kids. The kids love the water slides and if your kid is under 48” they can ride tubing slides with an adult still if they are 42”. Just last year was the first time I rented a day bed that came with umbrella so you can have shade throughout the excruciating hot day with your kids - having your own shade is a total game changer! This is a great somewhat affordable option for you to have your own space with locker, ice water and someone to take your order and bring you food. I like to get one of the day beds by the wave pool so when you’re not feeling waiting in line to ride the slides the kids can play in the wave pool and be within eyesight. This year I got the same day bed but there was no umbrella…. Sorry but the flimsy shade that is attached to the day bed just doesn’t cut it. It doesn’t stay up and if you have a day bed that isn’t even close to a tree forget having any shade. Not worth it at this point. I brought up the day bed not having an umbrella to three different employees and they all said there aren’t replacing the umbrella because they break. OK… you should probably update the information on what comes with your daybed so people don’t expect to be able to have shade when you’re not going to fix the issue.

If you have a group with kids, invest in a cabana! So nice to have a secure place for our stuff, and it's a decent price during the week. Great time and the line for the Avalanche was so short, we went a ton!

Overall a good time was had, but there needs to be some safety updates. One of the water slides near the baby pool area has a massive part of damage at a place you hit at high speeds. It's extremely dangerous and needs to be repaired in a bad way. It has a literal huge hole in the concrete.
Also overall, the cabana we rented was filthy dirty and had a lot of broken furniture. The water jug they brought us for the day was filthy from other people's hands touching the spout where the water comes out. You'd think they would not want to spread covid with these things but it was clear none of this stuff is cleaned all summer. It was super gross. One of the more calm pools was so filthy we couldn't see our feet.
Our drinks had stuff floating in them, and the garlic fries are fries with a huge glob of minced garlic thrown on top. Will be skipping those next time.
We will come back because the life guards did their jobs well and stayed attentive. It was the end of the season, so maybe it's better at the start. Hopefully some of these things can be fixed for future visits.

Our first time at Waterworks Park was awesome. My kids are 13 and 9 and they had a blast all day. There's a younger kids area that was full of toddler and preschool age kids, a wave pool, fast slides, a not quite as fast slide, and two other attractions that were for the thrill seeker crowd. My favorite was the Lazy Lagoon. It's a windy shallow pool that has a light current that you can float along. We didn't make use of the snack shack, but I saw many burgers fries and hot dogs being ordered and eaten. I'll have to try it next time. The bathrooms had showers, I didn't use them but I did look at them closely to see how clean they were and they passed my inspection. The bathroom stalls were also in good order. The lifeguards were attentive, so I felt good letting my kids have the run of the place without having to be helicopter mom. I'm hoping we can go back one more time before summer is over.

We recently bicycled this trail enroute to Redding. It was very uncrowded, well maintained and quite flat ( we started at the boat access). In mid October the temp was perfect, the fall colors lovely and we even saw a black bear ambling along the opposite riverbank. Highly recommend.

California's got it all closed up where you can shoot a firearm Keswick had a nice little shooting range only four slots wasn't very busy all burned out from the fires such a shame I was raised here in r e d d i n g this used to be a very pretty area great fishing great camping now it's just mud red clay mud so sad but still give it a four

Nice, easy to moderate trail. Condition is great for both hiking and mountain biking. Great views of river. The fire went thru 2 years ago, but life is back! I was pleasantly surprised!

I have risen her in years past and enjoyed the hell out if the area. The trails are maintained smooth and fast for those that enjoy the thrill of taking corner and mother nature at your speed. I tried to ride the other day but mother nature decided she needed to wash away more of the remnants of last years fires. I cant wait to see the area after the fires because I want to watch mother nature heal her self. This is after is was one of the fire fighters helping out to stop them.
Can't wait to come back for another live event! Tonight we thoroughly enjoyed Punch Brothers. The theatre feels small and intimate but is roomy and comfortable with a surprisingly large stage.

I saw The Temptations a few days ago. They did a great job, but I noticed a few times, the singers microphones didn't pick up their voices and I couldn't hear them. Otis' microphone did it, then Ron's. And Jawal's was too loud at one point, when he was not lead singing the song. Not sure why this happened, who is in control of the volume of the microphones, but it messed up a few songs. I was pretty sad about it happening to them. I hope they come back again. I will definitely be there.

I am in the band Pink Martini, and we just did a show here tonight. We've played here at least one other time over the years, and we just love it! The design is beautiful, the sound (from the stage, at least) is great, the staff and crew are fantastic, the audience is always vocal and appreciative and fun! My only complaint is that it is friggin freezing in the green room slash dressing rooms, and there is nowhere for bands to sit and eat the dinner they provide.

I really like this venue and the shows I’ve seen here. My only complaint is the completely rediculous fees charged by the ticket service they use. $34 per ticket for a $97 ticket??? 35% of the ticket cost is excessive and will definitely stop me from seeing shows there. Too bad…. It really is a great venue with some great shows.

This was my first time attending a production here and I was WOW'ed! Absolutely incredible actors, amazing production and incredibly beautiful theater! The staff that scanned our tickets were super helpful and kind. Security was friendly and helpful as well. A++++experience! Can't wait to return!

I love this place! I thoroughly enjoy going to their spring musicals and Cascade Christmas musicals every year for the past 3 years. Top quality singing and acting for the most part. And of course I can't not talk about the building. It's such a fun experience visiting a place from the art deco era. They've done a great job with restoring. Everywhere you look something beautiful.

Bill Engvall was hilarious. This was our first time visiting the theater and with a handicap son requiring a wheelchair there was always someone asking if we were okay. the seats were great and the service was wonderful. The lobby was a little small so get there early to get in. Thanks cascade.

Took Mule to 4 corners, to Meiners loop to catch Escalator (which I LOVED!!!) It was a fun climb that is not super technical but you can crank it and go fast, to Summit Trail and up to the top of Bear Mnt, then down Snail Trail (which was a BLAST to crank it going down!) and Mules Loop to the parking area. 15 miles???? My first time in Redding. I lucked out and found a friendly local to ride with. People here are so nice, the trails were in great condition (it was misting the whole time when I rode) and I think Escalator and Snails Trail are my two favorite northern California trails. I love it here!!! (PS: I was having too much fun going down Snails to stop and take pictures of that trail.)

Hike, bike, horseback riding, you can do everything out here. No place to get water, so bring your own. There are 2 bathrooms, 1 at the lower parking lot, 1 at the back lot, vault toilets but usually clean. No camping. Couple of purpose build mountain bike jump trails and flow trails, there are maps at both lots as well. Even a bike repair station with tools and a pump at the lower lot!

It's one of the coolest water fountains I've taken my kids to wish we had one in Springfield Oregon and the playground right next to it kids kingdom is amazing

We came for the water park but ended up at the regular park… because apparently it was still April and the water doesn’t turn on till May. Fun park just the same. Just not as refreshing.

We love this park every time we go to California we stop by with the kids to wear them out
Andreys Hunt — Google review
This is a great free place to take your kids in the hot summers we have. It runs daily from memorial day to labor day. It's really just an area in the park where automated fountains are available to get wet in. There's a big volcano that errupts about every 10 mins.
There is no supervision. No park employee keeping an eye on the kids. It is the parents responsibly to keep your kids safe. I cannot express how important this is. The ground is painted concrete. It is very slippery. Please don't let your children run here. I highly advise aqua socks. A serious injury is a very real possibility. I have personally witnessed several concussions happen just because someone was running and slipped.
Josh Palko — Google review
This is a great free water park for small children, I just wish that the extremely loud volcano sounds would be turned down or off. There were children holding their ears, and it was unpleasant to hear as an adult. If your children (or you) have sensory issues, you may unfortunately want to avoid this. I think it goes off every 10 minutes. I would not consider this an accessible feature.

This park was awesome!! The water feature was great, but the playground right next to it was the coolest playground i have been to. They jave a huge gazebo with shaded picnic tables, a few very large grills, lots of grass... and the playground had features for babies and toddlers, as well as people with disabilities. I can not get over what a great park this was, for the entire family! LOVED THIS PARK!!!
The Win-River Resort & Casino is a laid-back event venue with clean and comfortable rooms, great food, reasonably priced drinks and seasoned bartenders. Guests can enjoy live entertainment, a golf course and a pool. The cafe bar offers cheap drinks and great people watching on weekend nights. The resort also has a nice hot tub and gym facilities for guests to use. However, some guests have expressed disappointment with the slot machines, wishing they were more generous in payouts.
The hotel employees excellent inevery aspect. Also the casino cashiers and floor personnel along with the food workers friendly and respectful. With the eye in the sky and security never felt more at ease in and out of the the casino. Thank you for a great time.

I really love going here. It's in the vicinity and we have so much fun when we go. The rooms are clean and comfortable and food is really good
Drinks are reasonably priced and well made by all of the seasoned bartenders. Unfortunately, the slots don't like me as much as I like them. Sure wish they would let me play and win more, instead of taking my money so fast. If they loosened up the slots a little, this would be a 5 🌟 resort and casino.
Kari Sjobakken — Google review
This casino has a lot more slots than my local as well as a lot more variety. However the payout is far less. They do keep it clean on the floor as well as the bathrooms. Having to depend on staff to get you a beverage is something that can use some modification. Not blaming the staff but for the life of me I couldn't get a drink to save my life. Overall this is a decent place
Henry Fletes — Google review
Great place to stay, reasonably priced rooms that are comfortable and well taken care of. The staff are very friendly. The Cafe has a decent selection of food and the chicken sandwich was excellent. The slots aren't too tight, hit a few over 150 and another for 500. Heard the jackpots and excitement going strong for the 2.5hrs I was in the casino. Will be staying here again on my next visit through.

Pizza and a pitcher of beer for just $20. We even got a little Fry bread that is bomb! It's a Win-River win win evening!
Went to Taco Tuesday last night. $5 for 5 tacos with $5 margaritas! Customer service was amazing starting with our Hostess (Lynn) and then with our server (Aubree)!

The rooms are good for the price but overall too smokey from the Casino. Even though rooms are all non-smoking, the smell carries through into the rooms. Noise was also an issue for us so we won't stay here again. Very Friendly staff - especially the front desk guy. He was great! If you like a Casino experience and don't mind cigarette smoke, it's a good place.

Tightest slots in the North-State by far. You are better off going to Rolling Hills, Thunder Valley, Sky River, or Cache creek. Not even joking as it would be worth the drive. Bonuses on slot play at Win-River is almost non-existent and you typically have to put in hundreds of dollars to experience them. Rooms are average as you would expect with a tiny proclaimed "resort." Food is decent for the price.
They have been going through approvals to build a new larger resort in Redding and have totally taken the fun out of the Gaming Experience for thier guest especially for their fixed income guest. All around you you hear how much people put into the machines with no payouts. This is not a place to sustain any length of playing time unless you have high limit pockets to keep feeding the games.
Just do better Win-River. All I have to say. Your long term elderly loyal players are the ones who are suffering from your establishment all while you cater to your high rollers. Don't forget who supported you in the begining.

The staff was amazing! Rooms were comfortable, and food was decent. We were there for a mini family reunion for people coming from Oregon as well as various places in California. Although Redding is not my favorite area, it was better access for the elder family members. My biggest complaint was the smoke coming from the casino into the hotel lobby since the doors separating it were broken. They tried to place air purifiers around to help reduce the odor, and it did help a bit. Parking was difficult since they were doing construction near the entrance. Overall, our time there was enjoyable.

Win-River Resort & Casino has a nice clean casino and hotel. Bonus on the hotel for not allowing smoking in that area. The casino it self had a lot of gambling games and tables to play. We’ve stayed here 1-2 times a year for 10 years because our family lives nearby. We’ve always been pleased with our stay at Win River. This time was different. The staff was as pleasant and friendly as ever, but much else had changed. Our third day of a 5 night stay, we left the room at 11am, removed the do not disturb sign, and left to spend the day with family. We returned in the evening to find that our room had not been cleaned or resupplied. Mike at the front desk gave us the supplies we needed, and was so helpful.
We went to the Creekside restaurant for a nightcap and had to change our table 3 times for loud and intoxicated people almost falling on us. No security was present to control the situation. I understand that people want to have fun, but this was out of control. I don’t know that I will spend this much money on a room again just because it’s in close proximity to my family.
I do have to say that this makes me sad because we’ve always enjoyed our stays here.
Sincerely,
Karen Gibbs

This casino is so cheap! I get better free play offers from casinos I haven't been to in a year. You can lose $100,000 there one year and if you are out of town for two months, you lose your hosted status and most of your free play. It is a self-fulfilling prophecy on their part, because as they lower my free play, I go there less and less. Now that I don't get free rooms starting 8/1/23, I may stop going there altogether. If I want to gamble, it's well worth my time abd gas to go to Corning where they treat you better one on one and they at least make you feel welcome and appreciated while you lose your money. They also keep you well fed and not freezing and thirsty. The food and service at the restaurants at Win river isn't even in the same galaxy as rolling hills where there is a variety of great food and high rollers get more than a free pizza. The hosts at WR are okay - only one, Kathy (and Brian before her) is great. The hosts at Rolling Hills rock and their hands aren't tied.
If you want to feel welcome in a pleasant atmosphere - pass right by Win-River and go to the much classier Rolling Hills (or almost anywhere else).

Reasonable price for full hookups, pool, hot tub. Great security. Some shade at different times of day. Sites furthest to the back have the most shade. Trail behind but some homeless around. Morning walks ok. Small dog park. Mine didn’t care for it. All in all great spot for us to stay and go see Lassen NP.

Stayed one night, visiting family in Redding. Nice room, bed was amazingly comfortable. Shower pressure was awesome. Front desk and housekeeping staff were very nice. Only annoying thing we didn’t like was the bathroom door slammed or auto-shut. Casino was fun for an hour - noticed not a lot of people playing at the tables but the slots were very popular. We did have a great time and price was right.

It’d be hard to believe this place would have a ventilation system as it is by far the most heinous cigarette smoke choked casino I have visited in my life and I’ve been in a bunch as I used to live near Reno! Even my friend who smokes says she can’t take it! I would like to play poker here but I can’t do it. I visited a couple weeks ago and saw they have a nice little poker room. I had lunch in the restaurant intending to do the poker tournament afterward but I just couldn’t deal with the smoke. I had to leave before the tournament began. While checking the place out I walked through the entire casino and looked to see who was smoking and maybe one-in-ten people were. It seems to me instead of a non-smoking wing they should have an ultra-ventilated smoking wing and the rest of the casino be non-smoking. As is, healthy, pink lunged individuals want nothing to do with this place and even some brown lunged ones at that. If they ever build the new place, God I hope they make the smokers smoke outside.

This experience was very pleasant. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful, however they were clearly understaffed. Plenty of slots to choose from, I especially like playing caveman keno on the older machines. Free beverages consistently offered and available. Coffee, water, and various soda will be brought directly to your location in the casino. I liked being able to cash out my tickets with cashier's who roam the casino. Establishing a players card with free play was easy but the wait in line was about twenty minutes. Overall the best casino between corning and Redding.

Went for fight night tonight. Should’ve been common sense that you’ll need an ID present for these events but I had gotten ahead of myself out of excitement. We showed up and weren’t able to get in. After speaking with Sara explaining the circumstances of why I was waiting for my Id to come in the mail she has instructed me to shoot her an email. Almost a perfect score. Nice place and good price. But last summer I had an unsettling experience. I was sitting on a chair with a book, minding my own business, but I noticed that a female lifeguard kept looking at me. I then relocated to another chair, and as I walked to it, I turned and saw the lifeguard staring at me as I walked. Have you ever heard the phrase: "It's rude to stare at people"? So, sometime went by and I sat with my book on the new chair. I decided to glance at the lifeguard, and her head was turned and she was looking at me. This was creepy. I sensed that she was suspicious of me, but there was no reason for her to be. Lifeguards and employees shouldn't make customers feel uncomfortable. I think a lot of Californians are paranoid and suspicious of others.

I totally love the aquatic center it's an awesome public pool with high and low diving boards and there's a giant slide, there is a whole side of the center with a jungle gym type playground inside of a kiddie pool area with lots of water features. There's a concessions stand like at a sports field or I guess a "snack bar" lol. Lifeguards are always on duty and they are always vigilant, they actually rotate stations so that they don't get like complacent or I assume to keep them on there toes, certainly makes them very diligent whistle blowers if you break the safety rules (they're great at their jobs lol. The aquatic center is located across from basketball courts and a nice skatepark all of this located in Caldwell park on the Sacramento river.

We went for the first time and had a great experience!
There was a minor incident with big kids in the little pool area but it was addressed immediately. The lifeguards made sure everyone followed the rules.
There was a minor accident in which resulted with a bloody nose (I think) and the lifeguards were QUICK to get first aide to the child. The first aide man was in that water before anyone else realized what was going on.
Very pleased with our experience and definitely returning.

Absolutely beautiful massive olympic sized pool. Unfortunately that is the only good thing about this place.
Warning if your child is not the best swimmer, do not bring them here. On the day of my visit I saw pedestrians make more saves than their guards. There was one guard I believe Issac who made two saves and I could tell was actually monitoring the pool. Literally I saw random bystanders make 5 saves. The real issue is with Jesse. I’m not sure if she is management or what because of her burgundy polo. She was conducting the swim test and TWO children were drowning in front of her and each time a parent had to get in to make the save. Now I assume she is lifeguard certified since she’s the one conducting the swim test. I just don’t understand how you are only watching 10 kids in front of you and you manage to let 2 nearly drown. When confronted she had such a smug attitude. Definitely worth an investigation into her qualifications to a. Lifeguard b. Conduct a swim test c. Manage a staff of lifeguards/run aquatic center.
Again absolutely beautiful pool, just a criminally unqualified staff to be monitoring children.

We came as a family to the aquatic center for a field trip. The aquatic center gave NO rules NO papers or electronic paperwork to let us know the children needed a swim test before the slide or the diving board could be used. Jade the supervisor was sitting doing nothing and could have done a swim tests for the children that were late or didn’t hear what was going on. Lots of children could not do all the activities because this person announced this when we got here. Unfortunately not everyone heard her. Very poor communication on the city’s employees they hired. I expect better for a city I live in and pay taxes to! You should be ashamed Aquatic center it was a field trip and and not all the kids were able to do everything that they could have in 2 hours. Plus this place was closed down for this field trip.
Caldwell Park offers a picturesque riverside setting with ample green space for families to enjoy. The park features various amenities such as picnic and BBQ areas, a gazebo, a skate park, and a water park during summertime. It also boasts of a playground specifically designed for children aged 2-10 years old, as well as bike/skate/scooter courses and small skate bowls between the soccer fields and playground.
I have read a lot of comments about homeless, it will be so nice to provide some coffee to this people and some meals, specifically on this cold 🥶 days 😞

A decent sized bike/skate/scooter course and a small skate bowl are there between the soccer fields and playground. There's small water park for summertime. The walk trail is a decent length. It goes along the river making for a pretty, scenic outing. I saw a community center and an art gallery along with several picnic areas and gazebos.

Relaxed park with lots of options (Skatepark, Aquatic center, connected trail access to turtle bay, soccer field, and a beautiful view of the river).
Definitely great to walk around however it is good to be vigilant as it is quite a large park with the usual risks when there at sundown and afterwards.
Also if you think you will be needing the restrooms do tale a little hand sanitizer and soap as sometimes they can be in complete disarray. The bathrooms are my primary reason for not being able to give a five to this park.

* PLEASE READ IMPORTANT INFO 4 PARENTS *** Awesome skatepark much needed here in Redding. As someone who’s been skateboarding for 10+ years and is part of the Redding skate scene we greatly appreciate it…..
HOWEVER please SUPERVISE your children. Letting your small children slide play and run around on the skatepark while there is a perfectly fine (huge af) park with slides right there is UNACCEPTABLE. There have been countless times where myself or another rider has almost gotten seriously injured because of your kids. Most of the people skating are good enough to try and avoid it but accidents happen and I can see some Karens getting seriously pissed at a skater / rider when the parents would be totally at fault for letting them run around in a professional grade transitional bowl that’s being used as intended by riders. And of course we would never want to hurt your kids. Also if your child is not comfortable riding and making sure to take turns while there are a bunch of intermediate - advanced people skating / riding, the old skatepark or the bike pump track is a great place to learn to roll around on boards bikes and scoots until they are comfortable and can learn skatepark etiquette.
This park is amazing and would love to keep it a good place for everyone.

Very nice park. Kept well. Trails for walking/ bike riding, lots of grass for field activities. I love going here to just read a book. Nice and quiet park. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because of the transients. Not the park's fault, that's just Redding all over. So it might not be the best for parents to take their kids. So I would say 5 star park with a 1 star problem.

Fun park to visit with friends and family, very spacious with a lot of shade and room for picnics and activities
Great park. Something for kids of all ages. Very clean and well maintained. Can get crowded on weekends, but there's a lot of room and a nice park around it.
Nice that the playground is completely fenced in, one way in, one way out.
Fantasy Fountain is really nice too.

Love this play ground! Didn't know about the splash area so that was a bonus!

This park was a lot of fun and has a couple of different features. There's a lot of grass and picnic tables to have parties along with a covered picnic table area. There is your average park with slides and swings, and there is also a water feature here. There are lots of big trees to sit underneath so you don't get sunburned. I do miss the old wood structure that looked like a castle.

Best place for kiss to play. Playground is fenced in amd they have the water volcano that erupts with cool refreshing water every 15 minutes or so. Kids love it. Nice place to be able to let the kids run and play but still keep cool in these hot days ahead of us amd all free, so can't beat it.

The new design is lacking. They should have stuck with the original green they showcased.
Mosquitoes love this place and shade is in short supply when it's hot out. Play structures get too hot without shade coverings.

Wonderful park! They have a lot of areas with shade for hot days and there are a lot of cool things at this park that you don't find at other parks, like some little zip lines and the water features are really awesome, almost like being at a water park! They also have a covered area with picnic tables that would be perfect for a kids bday party.

Love the water park and playground.... But was very displeased that I payed to rent a section for a party and when I got there to set up all but 2 of my tables were taken I payed to use those tables..... They rent them out but don't make sure that no one is using the tables .... Why rent if you don't have anyone to enforce the rental rules

Kids kingdom is a nice escape for the kids to just be kids. It has one drawback the speaker system for the volcano water feature is absurdly turned up to a point that it literally hurt several kids while there. The kids stated it hurt their ears & some said their heads were hurting. Also parents couldn't hear their children when they fell and called for help. I've visited this park several times in the last month and it's always the same situation with kids ear pain and headaches mainly 2 - 5 year olds and all ages for parents not being able to communicate with their kids due to the extreme volume of these speakers. I've never been a Karen but this is situation where a child could get injured and not be able to call out for help. Not to mention toddlers in pain make for a miserable day.

I'm not from this area but I am a frequent visitor, my kids of all different ages LOVE coming here. It's been clean everytime we have visited. There's so much to do outside of the park. There's tennis courts, and a place to skate, play disc golf, soccer ect the water park part is a favorite of ours during the summer!

I love that there's a fence and only one entrance/exit. I sit right at the entrance and keep an eye on my children without having to try to keep them wrangled. We were there for two hours and the kids could have kept playing. Best part for a parent: It's shady with a ton of benches and seats within the playground. You can ACTUALLY relax while the children run out their energy.

Very fun park to play app for your kids of all ages. Basketball. Disc golf area. Soccer field. Fun jungle gym and water area. Still a little sad but they took the old set down but I do understand.

This playground is amazing! Big enough so even when it's busy there's plenty for all the kids to play on. Some of the equipment is super simple and moves up to more advanced stuff for older kids which is great. In the summer the water part is open and a great place to cool off. Also a wonderful park with benches, paths, and pickleball courts just up the hill.

We've never had a bad experience while using this beautiful park. It has a little of everything from large grass openings, disc golf and of course kids kingdom. A very large naturally shaded play structure. My sons grew up going and now my granddaughter loves it.

Wonderful place to bring the kids. Great equipment to help build gross motor skills. Fairly large place and can accommodate many kids. The free water fun spot next door is a great place too. The volcano actually makes an eruption noise and speed water from the top. Fun place.
