Among the popular wineries in Oregon, Rex Hill is known for providing a high-quality wine tasting experience. While many wineries in the area only have tasting rooms, Rex Hill offers tours and a stunning ambiance with views of the vineyard. Their food and wine selection are exceptional, complementing each other nicely. Visitors can expect to be served by knowledgeable servers who go above and beyond to ensure an enjoyable experience.
I’m not sure who is doing the hiring at Rex Hill, but wow are they nailing it! Absolutely the best team there, from Jonathan, to Doug, Jeff, Joan, Zoe, Kristi, Rylee and of course, the most wonderful Chef Billy. The wine is absolutely fantastic, but the hospitality is above and beyond, 20/10. We can’t get enough of this place!

A few moms and I went for the Mother’s Day Brunch. It was nice to get out and have time to ourselves- location/view is beautiful, tasting room/seating area is lovely with the big windows and natural light. Food was tasty but small portioned, and the meal only included a tasting of the sparkling wine (which was delicious and I wish it was a full glass), so a small brunch and a taste of wine cost $75. There was an optional wine pairing available for an additional $25. I was very disappointed by this price and, especially on Mother’s Day, felt taken advantage of. Unfortunately, I don’t think I will be returning to, or recommending, Rex Hill.

My husband and I had an awesome tour that led to an amazing lunch and tasting. We were treated with kindness and respect while also sharing a few laughs and stories. The wine is out of this world. The food was amazing. And the service was genuine, timely, and warm. Thank you for an amazing experience. We are glad we chose this winery when traveling all the way from Pittsburgh!

Red Hill is the first winery we visited on mother's day weekend. we had such a wonderful experience there. their wine tastes outstanding and the staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable about their wine. the person who helped us that day was super nice. if I wasn't tipsy already I should have been able to remember his name.
The outdoor seating on the balcony has beautiful view. the area right in front of the winery is perfect for family with little kids. I saw kids running around having fun when the parents relaxing and having glass of wine. we absolutely enjoyed our time there.

I went here as part of a wine tour and it was a great building. The building is open to tour and there is a lot of shared history of the winery's history. Also, lovely view and large patio.

We had a wonderful day at Rex Hill - just happened upon as we were taking a drive. It is a gorgeous place and wonderful service and tasting. Ended up joining the VIP wine club and bringing home some wonderful wines too. The food was very good and thank you to Doug who was a wonderful host!

Easily the coolest winery I've ever been to. The grounds are well designed, and the views are hard to beat. They had a non alcoholic hibiscus soda, so bonus points for a non-water option! The facility was clean and service was quick. There are some food options here, but more for snacking rather than a meal. A little pricier than some wineries, but a great experience.

We had a company gathering over the weekend for one of our very best to celebrate his 20+ years with our company, Auto-Chlor System.
The staff at Rex Hill Winery were so fantastic! Emily & Mark made sure all the details were covered with a great atmosphere, great decor, smiles & cheer with amazing service. Chef David was also outstanding giving us a quick review of the amazing dishes prepared and some of his personal back story which enriched the experience for everyone. If you are planning an event you will not be disappointed by the care that this team takes. I highly recommend for any group gathering. Great wine, great food in an amazing atmosphere, what could be better! Cheers.

Rex Hill Winery is a top-notch tasting experience. I invited a number of my college friends to visit Oregon this summer and to do a wine tasting at Rex Hill, and to many of them it was their favorite part of visiting Oregon. The food and wine was superb and paired nicely, and the view of the vineyard as well as the ambiance in the tasting venue were stunning. Finally, our server Carla was kind, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. Needless to say, I'll be returning to Rex Hill again very soon.

The Champoeg State Heritage Area is a former pioneer town that has been transformed into a museum, offering campsites, cabins, yurts and hiking trails suitable for pets. While some may find it reminiscent of an RV park, others prefer the more natural forest atmosphere found at LL Stub Stuart. During warmer months, staying in a yurt can be enjoyable but may not be ideal during colder weather. The campground offers large canine-friendly spaces as well as bike and hike trails.
Beautiful cabins Beds actually not that bad No river access , but the hike along river is really pretty Cool playground with frogs in the pond.
Pet friendly. I brought my cat and it was okay and there was dogs around and they were all leashed. So I wasn't worried about anything. Turned out to be a very good camping experience

Super great campground with sprawling acres, pristine facilities to include hot showers. The rangers and hosts are super friendly and helpful. There are large off leash areas for dogs, bike trails, hike trails. We had a full hook up pull thru site. LOVED IT!

Fun spot for camping. Even though the park is open year round, they close a lot in the winter and only RV sites, yurts and cabins are available for winter camping. Summertime there’s more tent sites and some group tent sites as well. The group tent sites are closer to the river. There is a dock but many signs saying no swimming. The camp hosts are always super nice and helpful and fun to chat with. The rangers are great as well. 💜

Champoeg State Park was nice but It felt like an RV park. I get a lot more out of LL Stub Stuart because it feels like the woods. I would be okay staying in a yurt during the summer months but I wouldn't want to do it if it was any colder than it was now in April.

Well maintained state park with nice space. Slightly isolated but views around this area is penominal. Good theme based play area for kids. Loved our stay here.

This state park includes many actives: Frisbee golf course, fishing, hiking, boat dock and picnic areas. There are two camping sections within this park. One section is heavily wooded, and the other section in an open field. We found the section in the open field of the park to be our favorite with better views and most sites included sewer hookups. As you enter the park, a gift shop and museum are at the entrance. Our site was level. Only a few sites within the wooded area were able to a DirecTV satellite signal. Our Verizon phones got a weak 3G signal.
Our family is currently traveling this beautiful country via RV style, and have been RV'ing for many years. Therefore, we have an idea between high-standard qualities and poor quality. We utilize Trip Advisor to assist us on locating top attractions, tasty restaurants and exciting locations within our wonderful country. Follow our adventure via Facebook; “Happy Campers 227”.

Great place for a picnic. Right on the Williamette River. Walking trails, dog run area, lots of flat open spaces, camping sites, covered banquet or party area all at what used to be the historic old town of Champoeg Oregon.

The cabins were cute and i thought the camp hosts were kind and respectful, unfortunately we had a cabin neighbour come by and harass us and try to sit with us by our fire after making threats at us. We then went to the camp hosts to get help in a situation where we were genuinely scared and not comfortable sleeping the night with someone who threatened us next door, and the camp hosts started defending the man and asking us to “ignore him” when we were minding our own business in the first place.
i’d also like to mention this man was drunk and when we wouldn’t let him hangout with us he started walking in the street saying “help they’re hurting me” when we were genuinely just sitting by our fire.
we had to pack up our stuff in the middle of the night and go home early, our trip was cut short and so far i don’t think i’ll be receiving a refund for the night we didn’t stay.
it was very unfortunate since it was supposed to be a little fun get away to nature kind of trip and it was going well until this happened, and i was pretty disappointed with the staffs reaction to us literally being harassed and scared enough to leave.
the man was a war vet and they used this as an excuse but he was clearly drunk and two of us were young girls i don’t think ill ever feel comfortable staying here if this is the kind of behavior they allow. And i advise others not to stay here either if safety is not important to them.

Beautiful park and walking trails along the river, but the camp site felt more like a trailer than camping with no privacy. The restroom was super clean nice hot showers. There was a nice playground for the kids.
If you are a discerning traveler (or local) who enjoys a very approachable, friendly and elevated tasting experience, this is your place.
Boyd and Jeff are gifted winemakers, utilizing both the estate grown pinot noir grapes as well as beautiful varietals from the Columbia Valley region. No one-trick-ponies here. These wines all speak with clear individual voices and convey the care and attention to detail put into them. You will find great wines for a variety of palates. I like the big reds myself, but the whites and rose' are superb as well.
Cassandra is a consummate hostess and ensures that there are lovely nibbles to put a little fat on your tongue, allowing the wines to show their stuff when paired with food.
Overall, whether inside the tasting room or out on the porch and patio, you will find Natalie's hillside location to be a happy and welcoming highlight to a Willamette Valley tasting tour.

We absolutely love this winery! We have yet to try a wine that we didn't love (and that's saying something)! The location is absolutely lovely with peaceful views and Cassandra and Boyd are incredibly hospitable. The included charcuterie board is the cherry on top. We encourage anyone who loves wine to give it a try and join the cellars club!

Just a great, boutique experience, in a small personal way. We did large Oregon wineries, and we did small Oregon wineries - At Natalies it seemed to be just us (there were others there - but felt so personal & quaint). The other plus is they had other vineyards in Washington State, so a little variety in the tasting from the Pinot Noir that was so prevalent in the Willamette Valley. Our host and hostess were very attentive and knowledgeable, and the delicious finger food was on point with the wine.

Excellent selection of varietals, breathtakingly fresh Chardonnay that is so light and delicious and lovely reds. Reasonably priced tasting with a very delicious snack to complement the wines.

This little gem tucked away in the countryside of Newberg is family owned and operated. The owners and wait staff are very knowledgeable about the industry and work hard to give you an incredible experience. Occasionally, they invite you to bring your chairs/blankets to sit under the trees in the meadow and enjoy homemade food and/or bring in local food trucks to enjoy the afternoon with local talent entertainment. Love this place!

My husband and I visited this delightful winery in late September. Nestled in the country, the earthy fragrances abound as we walked up to the tasting room. Spectacular views, incredible tasting flight (thank you Jeff!) and the pairing with select cheeses and meats was the best. We just received our delivery - thank you! Highly recommend visiting this winery. Thank you Sarah for taking us here!

My wife and I went to the winery a few weeks ago with my daughter and her husband and my ex-wife, as part of a larger tour of 4 wineries. The property was pretty. We were taken to the Montana tasting room which was quaint and gorgeous. We had a tasting of 4 wines with a pairing of food for each. The owners were incredibly down-to-earth, friendly and knowledgeable and the wine was AMAZING, especially the Pinot Rose! Boyd made some delicious smoked briquette and Cassandra made a wonderful Cabernet Chocolate Truffle ball.
As a bonus, we got to hear the story of their Hollywood room which was quite interesting and very unexpected. Would highly recommend visiting and we will definitely be going back soon. A hidden gem of Oregon wine!

Oregon is a hub for many choices of wine, so deciding on which winery to go to can be overwhelming for sure. I found Natalie's Estate years ago and they are just wonderful. It is a small family business and the owners are so nice. They have a cute tasting room where they provide a complimentary meat and cheese board with your tasting. I haven't found a wine yet that I wasn't a fan of. A MUST TRY!

I've been a member for years and have always loved it. Boyd is incredibly charming and Cassandra has such a beautiful touch on the place. The winners are Italian varietals, focusing on bigger feeds which is a nice change in Pinot country. By appointment only, but worth the visit every time!
Excellent visit to BraVuro Cellars in Newberg. If you like big reds, this is a must stop. We really like the ancient Vine Zin. The Newberg location is their tasting room. They have purchased a winery south of town that I’m excited about visiting on our next visit. Highly recommended.

They also have flavored olive oils that tasted incredible.

My wife and I stopped by last Saturday and had a wonderful time. We enjoyed all the wines, so much so that we joined the club😀🍷 Mike, one of the tasting room staff recognized us from another winery that we belonged to; we didn't recognize him until he took his mask off! Very excited to be a part of the wine club. We may go check out the tasting room in Amity this weekend. We love big bold reds from Lodi and Amidor so this was an exciting find! The port is incredible. Thanks for a great experience! Cheers

Me and some family/friends stopped on the way out to the coast for a reunion. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and had 4 glasses in front of us ready to go. Steve was incredibly warm and welcoming, answering all of our questions and engaging in conversation throughout the tasting. We stopped at a few places on our drive but this was by far our favorite, we could not stop talking about it all weekend.
If you're curious about it and enjoy your reds, make sure you stop here and meet Steve. His tasting room and origin story make for a fun experience.

Vidon is one to watch. Recently acquired by new owners, one visit to Vidon and you can feel the love, intention, and pride they are pouring into their vineyard. This is a totally different experience than a larger winery and this is what made it so special. I highly recommend reserving the Vineyard Lookout - I could sit here all day. 100% of their wine is estate grown and you can taste the difference. This is a real family place, we felt like we were part of something just coming here for a tasting.

I highly recommend the wine tasting at Bells Up. It is a very unique experience because the wine maker, Dave, is the person guiding you through the tasting. Who better to provide insight about the wine than the person who has put their blood, sweat and tears into making the wine? I had such a great time and would rate this among my top wine tasting experiences. The combination of the hospitality and finely crafted wines is a knockout! I can’t wait to share Bells Up wines with my family and friends. Thanks again for the wonderful visit.

An experience at a winery can make all the difference as to whether you care or not about the wine. One visit to meet Dave and Sara and Bells Up and you will fall in love. I'm talking full on dopamine flowing and giddiness because these folks tell a great story, and take you on their journey right along with them. So you're rooting for this winery... you're impressed with the fact that they uprooted themselves from their mid-western lives, quitting "real" jobs to take a flyer on a dream and moving to this stunning valley to make it happen. And there it is, manifested in front of you...in their happy faces, in your glass... and you FEEL it. Get me a T-shirt!!! I'm a believer!!! The wines are great...fantastic even...with a selection of wonderful varietals and blends that you'd expect in the Willamette Valley, yet somehow, richer, fuller, more interesting. These wonderful wines are a glorious sum of their parts.... passion, determination, expertise, interest, fun, struggle, determination, hope, joy and love...for the love the wine and the sharing it inspires. Really good stuff. Visit Bells Up!!! For this is what dreams are made of.

The view was spectacular, the wines were very good, the host/owner was personable, insightful and an interesting conversationist. Two hours easily slipped away chatting with Dave, sipping the wines, and soaking in the valley views.
The only reason for 4/5 stars is because at $65/person tasting fee, I'd expect more than just crackers & water... a small plate of cheese or seasonal fruits would seem reasonable for that tasting fee. FYI the tasting fee is waived if a taster purchases at least 3 bottles of wine.

I toured many wineries (15-20) in Willamette Valley, and this was by far my favorite. The wines are absolutely amazing — some of the best I’ve ever had, and definitely the best in the valley. Dave curates the wine flavors, and I have honestly never tasted wines that agreed so well with my palate. He also pairs them with the perfect music.

The Perfect Small Winery Experience
My family enjoys wine tasting week ends. But we also prefer the experience of the small winery to the large and more famous ones. At the latter the tasting experience is highly choreographed with a server bringing each round of wine and spilling out a canned spiel about each. At the small wineries we get to meet and talk with the winemaker himself or herself. And the wines are equally good. Bells Up provides an excellent experience. David and Sara are friendly hosts and love conversing casually about wines, winemaking, and the Willamette Valley. They build their customer base (as well as a loyal local volunteer support group) by building friendships. We live in Wisconsin but get out to Oregon at least once a year to see our daughter and son in law. We include a week end in the Willamette Valley and a stop at Bells Up each time. We enjoy trying out the new wines and leave with a few. My daughter and her husband are case club members.

Absolutely delicious tasting wine at a very small winery of only 10 acres. The owner and his wife are the only two employees and do everything from planting vines to fermenting the wine. We very much appreciated this as it added a very personalized contribution to the creation of the wines Bells Up Winery sells. The owner creates a very welcoming atmosphere for the wine tasting and is extremely happy to answer any questions about the wine, Bells Up’s history, or even about his personal life. I highly recommend visiting for a tasting or even just ordering a bottle of my favorite, the Firebird, to try for yourself.

My wife and I were making a trip to the Willamette Valley and saw the logo of the French Horn. We have a dear friend who plays the French Horn in our local symphony and our son learned to play from him. Thus, the name drew us in but then we scheduled a tasting with Sara and met Dave for a wonderful 90 minute discovery of their philosophy, passion and adventure into wine growing and wine production. It was most enjoyable as we sipped outstanding wines and entered into their love of the land, the challenges of nature and the day-to-day demands that make such remarkable wines. If you want a very inspiring visit to Willamette, a beautiful vista over the valley and an experience of "thumbs up" fabulous white, red, sparkling, and rosé wines, then plan to visit Bells Up. It is now late October and our case of wine has arrived for the holidays–not sure it will last that long!

This quaint family-owned vineyard is perched on a hilltop in the Dundee Hills AVA and has a beautiful view of the valley floor. I did a 3-4 year vertical tasting of the chardonnay and pinot noir and was impressed with the consistent quality of the wines. The family seems to focus on producing quality products in small quantities. You do need to phone ahead for an appointment since they don't have a wine tasting staff. The owners or the winemaker will most likely serve you. This place is a hidden gem in the Willamette Valley.

They have something for everyone from standard white, and reds, to white and reds with bubbles. They also gave us ideas for other vineyards to check out when discussing our tastes or what we liked at their location. They gave explanations on their wine making process for their wines that was also easy to understand and they did a good job keeping things interesting while we visited.

The winery has a very nice ambience and setting that is very enjoyable! The service is great also and the quality of the wine is is remarkable! I recommend that anyone visiting wineries in Yamhill county though be very careful and designate a driver who will not be drinking because the local authorities are quick to pull drivers over who they suspect are impaired. Also, the roads in this area are very, very dark after sunset, so day time visits are a good idea.

My sister and I are not Pinot fans (I know, I know... wrong valley for that), yet we found complex Pinots that we found not bad here. MORE importantly we fell in love with their sparkling white and had a wonderful time relaxing on their patio and talking to their staff. She recommended a restaurant we absolutley fell in love with (Ruddick/Wood) and a number of great wineries to visit in the area.

Best red wine of the day! Roco was a friendly, cozy location with beautiful grounds and the loveliest setting. They had two particularly delicious flights of wine, which proved to be the fan favorites. Everyone brought home a bottle or two from Roco. They offerings were unique, flavorful, and wonderfully varied. The most wonderful time!

I had a wonderful Pinot Noir at a local restaurant in Lincoln City. I asked where it was from and to my delight, they told me it was Roco and they were local! I made it a point to drive up there and man did I come out with some good stuff. The Gravel Road Pinot Noir is just about some of the best wine in the Valley in my opinion. I was once told you like what you like on the day you like it. That day and all the other days, I loved it. And the price was reasonable.
For something that packs a little more punch, go for the Stalker. The finish will stalk your tastebuds and linger for a the perfect amount of time.
The staff here are knowledgeable, have an obvious passion for the invaluable job they do (keeping me in some fine Oregon wine) and are non judgmental unlike other wineries I have been to in the area.
I will be back in a few weeks to taste and bring some of that Oregon taste home!!
We had a lovely and very relaxing wine tasting here on our tour and it was the perfect stop! Our favorite by far! Slow, family style vibe with a post-card-like view! My friend and I left not being able to stop talking about how good the wine, company, view, and environment was! Dave also really enhanced our experience with his passion and knowledge (but not pushing any over-knowledge, which was refreshing!) Would reccomend a thousand times
over!

A gorgeous tasting room to match the great wines. Dave is the perfect host for tasting these wines and the outdoor area is a perfect option when the weather allows. The history of the building is interesting and there is a pool table too! Come visit this out of the way tasting room and enjoy the wine!
Update as of October 2021. As a Wine Guide for A Great Oregon Wine, I love bringing clients here for our lunch & a tasting or a later afternoon tasting. Dave is great with his guests and oh so knowledgeable about his wines & the industry! Stop by and enjoy a Vertical Tasting of his Pinot Noirs!

The wines here are an amazing and excellent example of Oregon pinot noir. This is one of the few wineries to have older vintages on their standard flight (up to 10 years old) which gives you an opportunity to compare how different years and age effect the wine. This is reason enough to visit.
However, what makes this winery truly special is the tasting room manager Dave.
He is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and welcoming. He makes every visit feel feel personal and comfortable. We recommend visiting here just for the great experience he will give you. (again not to mention how wonderful the wine is)
Other things to note:
Amazing view
Laid back
Beautiful tasting Room
Fire place
White wines and sometimes rose on the flight

This was the first stop on our wine weekend and we are so happy this is where we set the tone! Dave is amazing and so personable, with a vast knowledge of the wines. We enjoyed our time here very much and will definitely be buying more wine in the future! 10/10!

Enjoyed a great tasting of Viognier, rosé, and a Pinot Noir flight. The wines are well-crafted, Dave is a knowledgeable and friendly host, and the tasting room has a great view. I’m glad to have found them.

My wife and I had the opportunity to visit Tresori while staying in the Willamette Valley for our anniversary. We both loved the down to earth atmosphere and Dave was an amazing host! The wine is great, too! We brought home several bottles and everyone we’ve shared with has been very impressed with the quality. We highly recommend stopping in!

Went here for a stop on a wine tour and I think this was the most casual winery. I loved the laid back atmosphere and how our server was willing to answer all the questions we had.
