This popular urban beach is located in San Diego, California and is known for its sparkling golden sand due to the presence of mineral mica. The beach also features beautiful pacific ocean waves, making it a favorite among locals and tourists alike.
Beautiful beach. We live close by and come here often just to walk and enjoy the sun and scenery. Highly Recommended.

Wonderful beach! My fiance and I spent the day here and we absolutely fell in love with the atmosphere. What a lovely beach with golden sand, clean water, and quiet surroundings. Highly recommend!

Clean beach close to so much to do and a walking path to be right on the ocean without getting in the sand! I particularly love coming here for sunset (when it's backlit) and early sunrise (direct lighting). The rocks on part of the shore are a beautiful vantage point, and the sand dunes are a unique feature of this beach. Even on busy weekends this beach doesn't feel crowded. There are public bathrooms and fire pit areas too!

The beautiful white sand was everything i needed from a vacation spot. Great location there’s plenty of street parking if you don’t mind a little walk to the water. It was very cold water but still beautiful. Plenty of room and not crowded at all.

Incredible beach, one of my favorites in San Diego. It's not as crowded as some other beaches, and it's really clean. Near the Coronado Hotel you'll find live music, a bar, lots of really cool sand castles, and an almost Hawaiian kind of vibe. Keep in mind that this area of the ocean is still filled with bacteria from the sewage coming from Mexico, so the no-swimming alert is still in effect. There's warning signs all over the beach, so don't go swimming unless you want a bacterial infection. The beach itself is lovely.

Super pretty and clean beach! The sand has glittering golden mica in it that makes the waters look magical. The sand was really soft and didnt have those sharp rocks and shells like other beaches.
We went at around 11 am and explored the boulders. Super fun!

Clean beach with quite a long boardwalk to bike or walk as well. The famous Del Coronado hotel is right beside the beach so you get a nice view and can also go inside the hotel. We did not get wet because it was bit cold during Nov evening, but would definitely visit again in summer

I love this beach, it is stunning for sunset especially! Fine golden sands, and a baby sea lion lying on the rock on the beach attracted our attention and curiosities. The hotel de Coronado is at the background with lovely bar and music. So enjoy!
The Coronado Tidelands Park is a great place for a day of relaxation and enjoyment. The small beach, open grassy fields, and delightful picnic area with views of the Skyline and Coronado Bridge make it an ideal destination for a day out.

This is a great park in Coronado with an awesome location. It's just right off the main bridge. The park is right next to the ocean, golf court, skateboarding park as well as many restaurants nearby. It also has kayaks, bicycles, jetski for rent. The view is amazing that you can see the USS Midway from the other side. It's not popular with tourists so it's never too crowded. It's free to park on the parking lot as well as many street parking spots. There are many spots for photo ops as well.

Our family enjoyed the park and especially the four mile run we took, which started and ended at the park! The small portion of beach sand we played in was nice, but there was a significant amount of trash around us. Also, there was no dedicated rinse station, but we made due using the water fountain to fill our bottles up to then pour over our feet. Other than that, there was something in the water that felt like small insects biting our ankles, so we didn't spend too much time in the water. I would recommend mostly for the view and the run, but I am also known by my wife to be a notorious beach hater, so there's that...

I recently hopped over to Coronado Island with my family and it was an absolutely fantastic trip. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the island's charming and laid-back atmosphere. There is so much to see and do on Coronado Island, and it's the perfect destination for a family vacation.
One of the highlights of our trip was definitely the beautiful beaches. Coronado Island has some of the most beautiful and well-maintained beaches I've ever seen, and we spent hours swimming, building sandcastles and soaking up the sun. The water is crystal clear and the sand is soft and powdery, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind.
Another standout feature of Coronado Island is the variety of activities and attractions available for families. We enjoyed exploring the charming downtown area, which is filled with cute shops and restaurants, and we also visited the famous Hotel del Coronado, which is a must-see for anyone visiting the island. There are also plenty of parks and playgrounds for kids to enjoy, as well as bike rentals and other outdoor activities.
Overall, our trip to Coronado Island was an absolute delight. The island is a charming and laid-back destination with beautiful beaches, a variety of activities and attractions, and a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. It's the perfect place for a family vacation and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and memorable trip.
Big, beautiful beaches. Lots of restaurants and shops. Was here just before Christmas so a lot of lights and decorations were up and there was an outdoor skating rink at the Hotel Coronado. What an amazing place that is. Hope to come back again soon.

The Lamb's Players Theatre is a 350-seat performing arts theater in Coronado, California. The theater presents an annual five-play season, ranging from traditional plays to contemporary works. December is filled with Christmas productions at the Theater including their annual Festival of Christmas and An American Christmas.
What a gem of a theater! The production we saw was fabulous - with very talented actors and musicians. The staff was friendly and professional. We will not be missing a production after our great evening at Lamb's Players Theatre.
Sheryl Carlin — Google review
It was a surprise to discover that Lamb's has abandoned all public health measures - an unpleasant surprise. The sign alongside the lobby was the only notification that the safety policies in effect when tickets were purchased had changed.
It seems like a giant FU to the (largely elderly) patrons to put masks as an option ("Feel free...") while forbidding food and drink - good to know that protection of the carpet is a priority. Masking isn't even slightly encouraged - none of the box office staff or ushers wore masks. Perhaps 15% of the audience had masks, a number only achieved due to a bus group from the Wesley Palms retirement community.
It was good to have some empty seats around me, but the coughing of an (unmasked) woman above/behind me wasn't ideal.
The Million Dollar Quartet is what Lamb's excels at. If only the experience in the theater matched the quality on the stage, and concern for the audience was as high as the professionalism of the performance.
Lee Darby — Google review
My mom and I have been really enjoying the Lamb’s Players Theater musicals this year. “Respectfully Christmas” (like R E S P E C T find out what it means to me) was so good! The cast is crazy-talented. Not only are they great singers, but they also play multiple instruments and it’s just a joy to watch them perform together. The theater is very small and we always like to sit in the middle towards the front. But there’s really probably not a bad seat in the house (unless you’re really on the edges). The staff are all very nice and the theater is clean and kept up. Enjoy the toe-tapping jolly holiday fun! 🎄☃️🥁

Fantastic vocals, amazing energy!!! Lambs NEVER disappoints, especially when it comes to music! The women of R.E.S.P.E.C.T rocked the house with their skills, intelligence and beauty.
People--- you really need to keep this theater on your radar. A beautiful venue, intimate seating, and always a high quality, professional, thoughtful production. 👏

Recently saw “Jane: A Ghost Story” at Lamb’s Players Theatre on Coronado. We attend one or two performances every year and this year opted for season tickets with our dates being preview Saturday matinee shows at 2pm. Productions are always first-rate and “Jane” did not disappoint.
The theatre is intimate, with only seven rows of stadium seating covering more than 180 degrees of the stage. There are no bad seats, viewing-wise, except for possible railing providing partial view with the exits below. What you must keep in mind is that the rows are tight and leg space very minimal, unless you are on the ground floor (A) or top row (G).
Whether performances are musicals or dramas, Lamb’s does a terrific job. Parking is always an issue and the closest garages are ridiculously priced, so go early and park on a neighborhood street where there are no two-hour restrictions. There are lots of restaurants within walking distance.
Great venue. Highly recommend Lamb’s Players Theatre.

OK, we were floored and dancing in our seats to The Million Dollar Quartet! In the intro we were suspicious if the performers-Jerry Lee, Carl, Johnny & Elvis were authentic in their musical aptitude, and we soon learned these guys were the real deal. Talented beyond belief, star appeal and authentic. The storyline of the mega talent produced by Sam Phillips at Sun Records was captivating. You don't want to let this one slip by.
Laura Whitney — Google review
Absolutely love this theater! Just experienced their latest show R-E-S-P-E-C-T and it was exhilarating! Great sounds, fantastic tribute singers and band members. Every aspect of this theater is just perfect from the high rise comfortable seating to the great acoustics and volunteer ushers - perfect in every way! Great location close to some wonderful food! Highly recommend you spend an evening here experiencing whatever they're showing!

Just saw Respectfully Christmas and unfortunately I couldn’t wait for the show to end. It was extremely boring!! There was a cool Beach Boys song and a nice Elvis routine of 1 song but the rest of the show put us to sleep. We saw Respect earlier this year and thought it was excellent. We were hoping this one would be more of the same but it was dullsville!! Very disappointed, I paid for 5 people, $ 350.00 for ninety minute show that was below average!!!

Lamb's never fails to deliver quality productions with fine acting and exceptionally wonderful music and sets--the plays they choose really are worthwhile. The seating is literally precarious, and of the four seating areas only the middle two are worth purchasing, but every seat in the center two sections offer fabulous theater experiences.
Carmen Munnelly — Google review

Wonderfully intimate venue, not a bad seat in the house. The lighting and sound is perfect and seats cushioned. I saw a performance of Million Dollar Quartet at the Lambs Players Theatre which was outstanding but the cabaret style venue made for a fully engaging show... I'll be back

Was there for the world premiere of a new play called "Jane a ghost story". Based on the book Jane Eyre. A little slow to get started, but once I was sold into the story line it was great.
The theater is small and intimate and can pack around 200 or so people in it. Acoustics are great and the sound is clear. We had an enjoyable evening.
No pictures allowed.
Casch52 — Google review
Very nice theater. The rows are steep so you don't have anyone blocking your view. Keeps the production fairly intimate, but the stairs are steep and the isles are tight. I saw some folks struggling to get up the theater stairs and if you need go move down and isle everybody must stand up to let you out. Plan on staying in your seat until intermission.
This dog park is a great place to take your pooch for a walk and explore all that the beachfront has to offer. There are plenty of areas to lay down in the sun, or cool off in the water, and there's even a large dog run so you can let your furry friend run free. This is one of the best beaches around for dogs and their owners, so make sure to check it out before it gets too crowded!
The island offers stupendous views of the San Diego skyline, the handsome San Diego-Coronado Bridge, and the pleasant bustle of the Bay—vistas worth the trip alone. Coronado harbors numerous public beaches and parks that provide perfect perches for enjoying the San Diego area's flawless Mediterranean climate.

Absolutely love this dog beach. The section for dogs is quite extensive compared to a lot of other dog parks. Parking is a little bit crowded but not horrible. Most other dogs and dog owners are well adapt at working with others. And the wife and kids can tag along with plenty of room to lounge around or build sand castles.

This beach is very beautiful has a lot of space to set up there's dogs everywhere and easy to bring your stuff to the beach with a flattened path. The only reason I can't give it five stars is because parking can be very tedious and tricky.

Coronado Beach isn't just a stretch of sand; it's a front-row seat to a nightly masterpiece. As the sun dips towards the horizon, the sky above Coronado transforms into a breathtaking spectacle. The show begins subtly. Soft hues of pink and orange begin to paint the clouds, reflecting on the calm water of the Pacific. The iconic Hotel del Coronado, a Victorian landmark standing guard over the beach, takes on a warm, golden glow. Seagulls swoop and cry overhead, their silhouettes adding a touch of drama to the unfolding scene. As the sun descends further, the color palette intensifies. And then you take the perfect picture.

For YEARS... decades even... I have been going to the 'other dog beach' and WHY?!? How did I not know about this amazing slice of heaven? Parking is a bit dicey on holiday weekends and such but if you are willing to walk (and it is good for you!) this place is great. Not too crowded, on the section open to unleashed dogs which is to your right as you are walking towards the ocean it is like doggy heaven but in the sand! The humans seem to pick up after their dogs much better than the other dog beach (score!) and there just seems to be more of a chill vibe with dogs and people alike here. I loved that they had the doggy washing station as you leave the area as well. This is my new go to, when my girls and I are back visiting our hometown from the desert.

Outstanding dog beach to have your dogs let loose and have fun. You could see how happy the dogs are running around and playing with other dogs and their owners. Everyone I saw was friendly and responsible for their dogs. The beach was cleaned and respected. Ensure to leash your dog if you’re not comfortable with them being off leash or around other dogs. Otherwise, tons of off leash dogs well trained by their owners. Will be coming back regularly!

Wholesome friendly off-leash dog beach. Dog owners are awesome and I’ve never had any problems. I loved it here. We came to watch the sunset and was not disappointed. The view is amazing. This is a great dog beach! I went on a Saturday afternoon. With perfect weather, I thought it'd be overcrowded. I was pleasantly surprised to see that that wasn't the case. There was plenty of space on the beach. The beach was also clean. I was able to walk barefoot without concerns of stepping on poop. Parking wasn't too bad either. People were constantly coming and going, so I was able to grab a spot fairly quickly. Overall, great experience for my pups. We will definitely return.

Sadly unethical dog owners bring their aggressive dogs here. My sweet as a button yorkie who was minding his business almost got attacked /got chased and snapped at by a big dog twice. Might I add he loves to play with big dogs and is not a barker. Expect Pandemonium, some owners absolutely do not pay attention to what their dogs are up to. Bring any type of food with you at your own risk. Wish owners would do the work and train their dogs before bringing them here. Gorgeous beach though. Love Coronado Island but the beach dog policy is bull dogs should be allowed on all beaches on leash during off peak hours. Dog beach has great amenities, a great path all the way down, life guard towers, patrols, a dog washing station on the way out, restrooms, free street parking and trashcans and bags throughout.

My pup had the best day running and playing around with all the other pups on the beach! Overall Experience: Coronado Beach offers a delightful seaside experience, boasting expansive sands and pristine conditions. Its vastness ensures that even on busier days, you can find a spot without feeling overcrowded.
Cleanliness: One of the standout features of Coronado Beach is its cleanliness. The beach is well-maintained, reflecting the community's commitment to preserving its natural beauty.
Parking: The only significant downside is the parking situation. Spaces are limited, and visitors are often left to navigate the challenging task of parallel parking. Early arrival is advised to secure a spot, especially during peak times.
Recommendation: Despite the parking challenges, Coronado Beach's cleanliness and spaciousness make it a must-visit for beach lovers. Its serene environment provides an ideal setting for a day of relaxation or family fun.

The Coronado Information Center is known for its extremely friendly and helpful staff. Visitors can explore an insightful history museum that sheds light on the largely untold saga of America's Vietnam MIAs/POWs. Additionally, there is a historical film about soldier's wives from San Diego that visitors are recommended to watch. The Coronado Ferry Landing is a waterfront shopping center with art galleries, apparel retailers, fine dining & casual eateries. The market is a great place to get a view of the sunset sky for just $5.
The ferry was a quick and fun option for heading to the island. You can get tickets at the booth right next to the boarding ramp or online (both are quick and easy).
The captain and crew were friendly and helpful and the boat was clean.
Great views heading to the island and options to sit below or up top. If you're spending a day at Coronado, this is a great way to arrive.

We landed on this place after taking a boat trip from San Diego. We wanted to refresh with some coffee, beverages and ice creams. The place is hidden gem. The view of the ocean and the vibe of the place with all restaurants and shops gives you the feeling of a real summer day. And there was also a sailing competition so it was extraordinary view. We stayed there for almost an hour and half more than we planned. You can take a bicycle ride or scooter or enjoy the walk with fresh breath of air and amazing view of the ocean. Give it a try and you will not regret it

Great way to get from downtown San Diego across to the Coronado Island. $8.00 per person each way is well worth it! We did the short ferry (15min) one way to the Coronado Island (pick up by the Hilton, by The Rady Shell concert venue at Jacobs Parkshell), and did the Long Way back (30mim) to the main land which dropped us off right by the USS Midway Museum. The ferry ⛴️ runs every 30 min, they are very punctual. Lots of seating for guests up on the top deck or below if you prefer. Getting tickets is easy, either right at the Port in a self-serve kiosk machine, or by scanning a QR code and ordering online. Pricing is the same for both online or at the Port. The price is also the same for the short ferry 15min and the long ferry 30min. It's all the same ticket. I would definitely recommend it, it's a nice quick way to see San Diego harbor from the water. Beautiful skyline! And definitely worth crossing over and wondering around at the Coronado Island!!!

The area is a very fun place to be. Lots to do and lots of great food and atmosphere. The only downside to this area is the beaches are not that pretty. A lot of crustaceans littered at shoreline as well as vegetation. Not a place I would hang out as far as beachwise.

We took a Lyft from San Diego harbor and asked to get dropped off here. It was perfect. Restaurants, shopping, and beach very close. It was a beautiful day that we spent eating outside with water views, shopping, and walking the boardwalk. Very good idea!!

You aren't always dropped off where you were picked up. The walk to the beach is 1.5 miles, so walking the additional mileage on the way back was an unexpected and distressing development, especially as I already had blisters from walking 3+ miles in flip flops 😅 The ride was very relaxing and pretty quick. You pay to ride over and pay again to ride back so might as well get all the tickets at the same time. Great shopping (found better deals on souvenirs on this side rather than downtown!).

Great way to take the scenic route across the bay. It's easy to buy tickets, the ferries are always on time, and the staff are professional and courteous.

Hood place to stop, shop, eat & look around! Great views for San Diego skyline, probably better at night.

Good enough for a quick getaway from SD downtown to Coronado. Enjoyed the ride with two babies (including stroller)

Beautiful views of Downtown San Diego! Cute shops, a variety of restaurants to choose from with a couple of the restaurants waterfront. Depending on the night you can also enjoy the beautiful music coming across the way from Seaport Village. They also have a booth during the day for sea-doo watercraft rentals for $99.00 an hour.

Convenient and every 30mins there's a shuttle for most times of the day, $8 tix and there's always uber if needed.

From here you have a beautiful view of the water, the bridge, and skyline . The Ferry ticket costs $8 and takes you into downtown San Diego. A great place for a walk, very cozy and beautiful.

We visit Coronado every couple years because we love everything we can do without renting a car. We use the Ferry almost daily over to San Diego. It's so relaxing. There are shops, restaurants and fun things to explore on both sides. I also love seeing the naval ships and helicopters as we are crossing.

Great views, amazing restaurants, and fun stores. This place is a gem on Coronado. You can reach it by car or the ferry that goes across the bay for $8 per ride. Rarely crowded and happy hour specials make this a MUST DO when you visit the area!

The views are amazing! There is something for everyone here, Coronado is another jewel of San Diego.
The Coronado Public Library is an ideal library, offering a broad selection of books and DVDs for all ages in a calm and classic environment. This spacious facility offers ample workspace, including tables with outlets for laptop work. The children and teen sections are well-stocked with appropriate reading materials and music. Relevant community activities are hosted regularly at the library. The main section boasts an impressive catalog, providing a peaceful atmosphere suitable for both reading and working.
This is what a perfect library should be. Spacious, well-stocked, generally quiet, plenty of work space, and relevant community activities. They have a large selection of books and movies. The children and teen sections are filled with great book choices as well as music, and both are well-suited to their respective age groups. The main section of the library has an impressive catalog and offers a quiet place to read or work. There are plenty of chairs for reading and tables/desktops with outlets for laptop work. The librarians are helpful and friendly. As a lover of libraries, this one is at the top of my list.

I brought my kids to this library for their kids library section. The section is very clean, well equipped, arranged, and they provide plenty of choice of books. We love this library.

Oh the library! Spent a lot of my 20s sitting within these hallowed walls…. It’s not the most architecturally stunning library, but the feel is classic and classy. They’ve always had a fantastic selection of books, movies and magazines. Staff is top notch, and the children’s library is very nice. There are always a bunch of middle schoolers hanging about the teen section, which is nice. Beware, if you haven’t showered in some time, carry your home in your backpack and pass out in the library, you will be assisted on your meandering path by kind public servants. Cheers!

One of the better libraries in San Diego. Spacious, ample seating for everyone and anyone to sit down and study, honestly worth the visit. Parking can be a challenge (especially on weekends) but again, an exceptional location to sit down, read, or study.

Nice, quiet place to read and study. Wonderful books and DVD collections. Before the pandemic, they use to have GREAT summer cooking classes.

I loved this library. I was stationed on NAS North Island nearby and used to go to this library all the time to write my screenplay. Clean and in a safe location. My only thing is that some of the private tables don't have outlets that have electricity working, but not a big deal.

The Coronado Public Library is a wonderful place to read and study. I believe the programs in which children are involved and the music and cultural events offered to the public at large are balanced since they celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanza for example. The staff is friendly and helpful towards everyone, especially librarians Ivy Weston and Jacqueline Luna. I just cannot believe that some of the staff there have been recently subject to threats and false accusations; they are doing a great job!

Very good library, well-shaped, cozy interior. I've found there tons of interesting books especially biographies: Picasso, Beethoven, Monet etc. Rich collection of non-fiction, Israel, and Soviet Union. Highly recommended

Came for a book and got a library card to check it out. Front desk librarians were very accommodating and friendly. And the lady at the reference section was super helpful and was so excited to find a book for me, it was sweet and I greatly appreciated her enthusiasm. The library was cute and had a cool Dr. Seuss exhibit (although I do have conflicting feelings about that man, but that's another discussion for another day). Overall a great experience and am excited to come again! Ooooo almost forgot the library card is sooooo cute, I love it!

Looks can be deceiving at the Coronado Public Library. It appears old and stately on the outside, but its high tech and very up to date on the inside. When you go through the entrance (BTW by the small food trailer) a whole new world of knowledge and entertainment opens up. The staff is super helpful and there are periodic fundraising book sales – keep an eye out.

I enjoyed the writing club I attended here in 2007 because we shared writing as a group. Someone wrote a story about farming horseradish.
The public beach Silver Strand State Beach is located on the Coronado Peninsula in San Diego County, California. It's a long stretch of sand with ocean and bay shorelines offering fishing, swimming, and picnicking. There are also RV camping facilities available.
The RV park deserves 10 stars for location alone! we parked and made dinner as we watched the waves crash on the beach. the access to the beach was so easy from any place in the rv park. when reserving you get clear pictures of the spot you are reserving. Only wish was there were better bathrooms, we have a bathroom in our van but don't use it unless on the road so the walk to the bathrooms was a long one and they were made for the public as changing rooms for surfers and anyone who needs them from the area not actually for the RV park.
I would still go there 10/10 every time I get a chance. I suggest waling the beach at night it is breathtaking with the city lights beside it.

Beautiful beach however they have signs posted everywhere do not enter the water sewage and chemical warning check out this photo but it's nice if you don't get in the water cuz it says do not get in the water. This is our second time coming it's a beautiful place they do have RV camping there

pretty quiet beach with heaps of parking. this would probably be a bit more packed on a warmer day, but it’s far enough off the beaten path that it doesn’t get as much traffic as coronado. happy to take in the sun, enjoy my dinner, and take a nice long walk here enjoying the solitude.
Ruthie Elizabeth — Google review
Beautiful beach. Downsides are that you have to pay to dump even when you’ve paid to camp there and it’s basically a big parking lot. You’re really just paying for the beach. Highly recommend that camp host duties include beach clean up daily since there is a lot of trash that washes in with the tide. Sad. Oh and really wish they had indoor showers. Grateful they do have clean bathrooms tho!!

Beautiful smooth beach and not a bad crowd during the day on August 1, 2004. Warm water, found some seashells and sand dollars. Good bathroom and outdoor showers with lots of parking. $12 day pass to park at this wonderful state park just a few miles south of the gorgeous Hotel Del Coronado. Definitely check it out if you’re looking for a peaceful and beautiful beach!

We left with with a bag full of shells! Hardly anyone was on the entire beach! Clean sand, bathrooms and showers to rinse off the sand. Worth the $10 to park.

Silver Strand State Beach is a fun place to camp and enjoy the beach. The beach is beautiful sand that is kept clean. A perfect place for families to enjoy the beach. Unfortunately the water was closed due to contamination. There was no smell, however we took no chances and stayed away from the water. There were people out surfing and fishing.

A beautiful beach. Not sure if everyday is crystal clear water, but today was. State Beach so there is a fee (by the hour). Built sand castles, looked for seashells and enjoyed the water.
Lorna Rice — Google review
We did the RV camping here and had a great time. The reservation needs to be made at least a month and a half to two months ahead of time as it’s pretty busy/packed. The lot for RV camping is set all the way at the end of the beach and there’s a check in booth at the entrance of it where they’ll walk up to your car and get you checked in. They allow dogs (indoor sleeping only) and there’s a small area for you to bring your dog to relieve themselves at. There’s no showers in the bathroom and they close the bathrooms at night (we checked around 8:30). They have power and water hook ups but no waste hook up. You have to pull your rv up to the front to dispose of your waste there for $10 each time. The parking for the camp spots are all only a few steps from the beach so you can fall asleep to the sound of the waves. The opposite end of the area through the pedestrian walkway also has another smaller beach that doesn’t have as many waves. They close the entrance to the parking lot at 9 so people can’t enter or exit after then and quiet hours are from 10-7. There’s also 3 large parking lots if you’re just trying to visit the beach however there is a fee to park. There were a lot of stingrays in the water when we went and they’re in the shallow areas so just be sure to make sure you don’t step on one :)

Not crowded but you can't swim here right now. Signs are everywhere that you can't because "sewage/chemicals" but we still enjoyed watching the little terns.

We have been coming to Silver Strand State Beach for 5 or 6 years. We visit California every summer from Arizona because my kid's love to surf and boogie board. The beach is nice and very clean. The waves are good for surfing and boogie boarding. There is plenty of parking, showers, restrooms, and a few picnic tables. The beach does get busy but never feels crowded. There are lifeguards present. Be aware of stingrays. We just returned from a long weekend in July and there were so many stingrays this time. My oldest son did step on one and get stung. The lifeguard was very helpful and sent my son to the main tower to soak his foot. There were 5 other people that had also been stung and were doing the foot soak the same time as my son. I don't know if we've just been lucky our other times there or if the stingrays were just out in full force this time.

First time visiting. I’ve lived in California 4years now and I’ve never been!! I’m so delighted that I made the long trip here. Such a marvelous sight to see. It costs $12-$15 for parking though. The beach is beautiful, clean and sunset is magnificent! I highly recommend and I’ll definitely return.
Spreckels Park is a 8-acre park located in the heart of Coronado where you can enjoy concerts in its gazebo every Sunday afternoon. This park also features a playground and galleries with works of art by local artists.
Beautiful park. Lots of shade. Bathrooms were very clean. Area for kids to play. Not dog friendly which is unfortunate, but it also means you don't have to worry about stepping in dog poop anywhere. Lovely all around!

A great park for having a picnic, spending some time reading on the lawn, or watching children frolic in the playground.
During the summer their are free (donations collected) concerts in the gazebo and attendees bring tables, chairs, food, and wine to enjoy an evening amongst community. No dogs allowed. Strats 6-7:40. *Many people start saving spots at 3:30.
Artists display artwork on the edge of the park on the weekends.
Clean unisex bathrooms.
Parking in the neighborhood, where you walk past beautiful homes & gardens.
This day, we attended the largest tented flower show in the nation.

Doesn't get any better than Spreckels Park in my opinion. Playground is shaded for the most part. It accommodates all age levels of kids. Has plenty of grass area for other recreational activities. Bathrooms well within walking distance. Best of all, it's located on Coronado. Grandkids love it here. Two thumbs up 👍🏻👍🏻

Spreckels Park is Coronado. It seems as if the City evolves around the band shell here. There are often free concerts in the park (check City website for dates). There is a huge AND shaded play area for kids. This park has probably one of the best public restrooms of any City. There are tons of shade trees for a lounging around or enjoying a picnic.

What is not to love about Coronado? The entire peninsula is simply gorgeous!
Speckles Park is centrally located, well kept, beautiful and has ample facilities. The gazebo accommodates some nice weekend events.
Today, I was fortunate enough to attend the 100th Anniversary of the Coronado Flower Show (and Art Show). It was a perfect day and neatly organized.
Glorietta Bay Park is a great place to spend a day with family. The beach is perfect for lounging and swimming, while the playground ensures that little ones will have plenty of fun. The park also has a boat ramp and picnic area, making it the perfect spot for a day out.
One of the park's most outstanding features is its breathtaking beauty. Nestled along the sparkling waters of Glorietta Bay, this park offers awe-inspiring panoramic views of the bay and the Coronado Bridge. The well-manicured lawns, vibrant flower beds, and towering palm trees create a picturesque setting that is perfect for relaxation and reflection.
I was particularly impressed by the park's cleanliness and tidiness. The absence of trash and litter is a testament to the efforts dedicated to maintaining this park. The park's dedicated staff and volunteers deserve commendation for their commitment to preserving the park's cleanliness and ensuring a pleasant experience for all visitors.
Safety is paramount at Glorietta Bay Park. The park is well-maintained and well-lit, making it an ideal location for families with children to enjoy outdoor activities. The serene atmosphere and vigilant security measures contribute to a sense of tranquility, allowing visitors to unwind and enjoy their time without any concerns.
While Glorietta Bay Park offers an abundance of open spaces, it would benefit from the addition of more shaded areas with seating. This would provide visitors with more comfort during sunny days and enhance the overall experience of spending time in the park. However, there are several shaded spots near the playground and along the waterfront where visitors can find respite.
Whether you're looking to take a leisurely stroll, have a picnic with loved ones, or simply bask in the beauty of nature, Glorietta Bay Park is an idyllic destination that will leave you feeling rejuvenated. Its tranquil ambiance, scenic views, and commitment to cleanliness make it a must-visit location in Coronado.
Overall, Glorietta Bay Park in Coronado is a true gem that offers a peaceful respite from the outside world. With its stunning vistas, immaculate maintenance, and a strong emphasis on safety, it's a place where visitors can easily lose themselves in the beauty of nature. While a few more shaded seating areas would enhance the experience, this park remains a delightful destination that will leave you with cherished memories.

Nice, relaxing place in Coronado to go and bbq or picnic and spend time with the fam or SO, if it's not too crowded. Even when it is more crowded, it's still relaxing and people are, in my experience so far, respectful of everyone else. Got some nice views of downtown, which I thought looked pretty neat at night. I forgot my phone, so I went back and took a few pics. Although, be careful if you're there around 11 pm. The sprinklers started watering the grass, unbeknownst to me as a new resident, and they got me pretty good. They spray the sidewalk as well and when I went to dodge one, the next one would get me. Their sprinklers have pretty good coverage.😂😂😂

San Diego's best panoramic views can be found in Centennial Park, located on Coronado Island. The park offers a great view of the city skyline, as well as the bay between the buildings and the park, which makes for breathtaking pictures at night.

Beautiful little spot of a park. It's a nice place to take seat for a minute. Maybe have a picnic. It's a great place to take Pictures of the city and they have some prime eating restaurants all around the park. Cute little park about the size of a house lot. Great for that general neighborhood and anyone walking in that area. My clients pulled it up as a place to take pictures of the Downtown skyline but they were trimming the trees the day we stopped by. Not a big deal but other bigger parks in Coronado to easily visit and enjoy some of the same views. As I said, it's a nice, small, landscaped, tree-shaded little park in amongst the houses. No restrooms, etc., simply a nice little spot.

Downtown San Diego is a cultural center that includes the historic Gaslamp Quarter and Little Italy, where one can find various dining and bar scenes. There are several performing arts venues in the area, such as the grand Civic Theatre, which showcases opera performances and bands. On the bayfront, visitors can explore tall ships at the Maritime Museum or vintage planes on USS Midway while enjoying shopping at Seaport Village. The region also boasts a museum of contemporary art housing 20th-century works.
The Coronado Playhouse is a small, cabaret-style theater in the Coronado Community Center that puts on classic and modern plays and musicals. The Coronado Playhouse was such an incredible experience. Every member of the staff were helpful and friendly. The set up of the playhouse provided an intimate and comfortable experience for the audience. The production I saw of "All Bark! The performers were fun to watch and filled with enthusiasm, especially the actress who played "Bella" who easily represented her character's personality. The Coronado Playhouse is a definite must visit for anyone in the San Diego area and nearby, and seeing the production of "All Bark! No Bite!" is a definite must see anywhere you are.

I've seen 3 plays at the Coronado Playhouse so far. The sets, the acting, the scripts were all good. The cost is about 1/4th that of the larger venues which is great. Loved the performance of Matilda, I highly recommend the play to all ages.
The venue was not what I expected. It's essentially a room, attached to the Coronado community center, which fits about 24 small round tables, with barely elbow room with the table next to you if all 4 people are at your table. The seats were padded, and comfortable, but because the seating was all at one level, it was hard to see over people's heads.
Already having paid for tickets, they have the child performers stand at the door with buckets extended, asking for donations, which is uncomfortable. This was in addition to the slices of cake they sold for $5 each and their refreshment stand.
I understand that they're a small company, and I applaud them for their efforts, but if you're getting tickets, make sure it's at the front of the room.

We've seen several shows at this venue. Intimate, casual, fun! The shows have been great! They do a free Shakespeare or other show once a year, with donations if possible. This year's Shakespeare pick is Much Ado About Nothing, and it was phenomenal. We've also seen children's theater and other shows such as Murder on the Orient Express. Support local community theater!

I am giving the performance of Ain’t Mibehavin’ a grudging 2 stars because most of the performers gave their all and were obviously talented singers. As for their characterization of black women, I was not impressed; their static portrayal of strutting defiant women lacking civility and warmth became irritating and all too predictable. They ceased to be entertaining which is the object of performance. That is the fault of the director, so I don’t necessarily fault the actors although how come it did not occur to them that their characterization was a caricature? Hadn’t they seen any of the YouTube footage of previous Ain’t Misbehavin’ performances?

Very intimate table seating with good view of the play throughout. Acoustics could have been better if the players wore mics or if a sound system was provided on stage. However, the ticket prices are very good and most plays are well done and interesting for an amateur production.
The Vietnam Unit Memorial Monument is a moving tribute to the sailors who faced high casualties during the war, often forgotten by history. This monument offers an opportunity for current military personnel and veterans of past wars to come together and acknowledge their shared bond as brothers and sisters who served their country. The volunteers, mostly surviving Vietnam veterans or family members of deceased soldiers, are dedicated in assisting visitors in locating names on the wall. It is highly recommended to visit this memorial while it is present in San Diego.
Great piece of our nation’s history! Chuck delivered a GREAT tour and shared many stories about his experiences which explained all parts of the memorial. Truly appreciate the staff for preserving our heritage, their sacrifice and service for our freedom.

I visited the memorial yesterday with some fellow veterans and we all found the experience very moving. The volunteers, mostly surviving Vietnam veterans or family members of the deceased soldiers, were most helpful in assisting people in finding the names on the wall. What I found most profound was the interaction of current military personnel with the veterans of past wars; this reminded me of how all veterans, no matter their branch of service or whether they fought in conflicts or protected America in peace time, are all brothers and sisters and share a bond that few civilians are able to understand.
I highly recommend visiting the memorial while it is here in San Diego!

The USS Midway Museum preserves the historic aircraft carrier, which served America for more than 25 years. The museum features areas not open to the public, such as the sleeping quarters and engine room. Sailors narrate self-guided audio tours, and you can learn even more by engaging volunteer docents.
This place was absolutely awesome! It has dummies instead if people all around the ship as you walk through (see pictures). It has beds, kitchens, bathroom, everything! It has a place where the planes land and the best part is l, you get a free audio tour thingy. There is also a little movie you can watch about the Midway battle and about the soldiers🍿. Everything is so realistic and it has cool props and all. Keep in mind, this used to be an operating ship! As you walk through, the history of the ship is slowly uncovered and you start to get a glance at the life of those soldiers that lived on the ship, away from their families. This place is really cool and you should definitely visit!

Well worth the six hours we invested. An amazing piece of history. Liked the self guided audio device you use to scan the displays you want information about. They have a kid's information scavenger hunt that once completed they get wings in an award ceremony. They loved it. Several speakers explained operations on the Midway; very interesting and given by prior Midway servicemen. Learn from their experiences while they are still around, a piece of living history. The Cafe 41 has a good selection of lunch items. A good place to take a break and have a snack or lunch. Don't forget there are several flight simulators you can operate for a fee, but several cockpits that are free to set in and take pictures. Video presentations everywhere you look. A great day of history and the kids won't even know they are learning about history. Win, Win

I had an excellent time aboard the USS Midway! The ship is a very well preserved and document piece of history that you could easily spend a whole day on just learning about all the ways this ship used to support our country and how the brave men and women used to run the ship. The museum also features many modern tourist attractions such as full motion flight simulators and a VR exhibit. I also really appreciated the many veterans working on the ship that are happy to answer questions and provide more details. Definitely check out the gift shop before you leave for some nice souvenirs that support preservation efforts of the midway and support veterans. Overall, this is a great piece of military history that’s not to be missed if you are in the San Diego area.

Great experience! Spent 3 hours walking around. Could easily spend more or less time based on your plans. Audio tour is included. You get to go through so many areas. The staff are so friendly and a wealth of knowledge and willing to share personal experiences. Make sure you bring your walking shoes as there are small stairs to go up and down on a well. Only caution is if you're over 6 feet tall, you'll be ducking often!

Went with friends and we really enjoyed our walking tour. Didn't seem to have enough time in the day to completely enjoy all they had to offer. It was very nice to explore the history involved with this war ship and all the men involved in keeping this ship operational. Thanks to all who served on her protecting our freedom 🙏. Veterans and active duty get a discounted entry.

I have 0 interest in the military or military history, but this was a fascinating place to explore and learn! I love that you can explore the ins and outs of the ship and really get a feel for how big it is. If you are tall, be careful - I hit my head many many times even while paying attention. Parking is pretty limited so we ended up using ride share to get there. This would be very difficult to experience fully if you have any type of mobility challenge so keep that in mind. There is a decent food/snack bar and a big gift shop. Don’t miss the intro movie.

Went to a company party here with 1,100 coworkers. We loved looking at the planes and taking small group tours. It appears they are doing work as a section of the tower was covered. The planes and deck were lit up well and provided a nice backdrop for our event. The catering was excellent as was the band. This ship makes a great place to hold a large event!

Note, I was not here for the tour and museum, but for a private event. I was able to view all of the displays that the museum has to offer. Being able to wander around the upper and lower deck, there is a lot to see ranging from all manner of helicopters to planes. The upper deck boasts a gorgeous view of the San Diego Bay.

Fabulous !
Went with high expectations, they proceeded to far exceed them! great job presenting 50 years of military history during the ships service life, loved every second. The equipment was super interesting, but the huge corps of spirited knowledgeable volunteer docents made this museum unforgettable, oh the stories they told. So much to see, minimum 2 hours but easily spend 4.
Suggestions, go EARLY, do the island tour first and make use of the simple audio guides.

We loved the experience! Hubby loves airplanes and we were so thrilled to go in and stroll around the museum. It was soo tiring because a lot of walking but it was so worth it! we really go in every single part of the ship😂

This place is amazing! I got to see the maritime! This is very interesting and educational for everything that it offers to learn more about what happened. I found that the simulating rides were pretty amazing. And I love that the volunteers are most of them are veterans. Highly recommend this for everybody stopping by the harbor and enjoying learning about our history. Thank you for giving me an experience of a lifetime!

Such a cool idea for a museum, a historical aircraft carrier. Been here multiple times and still enjoy coming here when family is visiting. You get to actually explore the interior of the carrier, with different rooms staged as it would have been when out at sea. The flight deck is also a must see as you can go inside planes and helicopters. It's a great way to spend a few hours with the whole family And even learn a few things. I recommend the audio tour. They also do events like during the Big Bay Boom.

Perfect experience coupled with the gocity pass. Very perfect execution from storytelling to hands on to living quarters. I took a whole day to finish this place.
Go straight to the theatre near the entrance and the tour at the top deck in the morning. It gets overly crowded later leading to long waits.
And take the two talks too. The speakers are very knowledgeable and definitely gave a good understanding on how the top platform works.
There's lots to see on the sides of the top deck, additional rooms and a basement. But go for the talks first to have a better understanding of operations before walking around.
Food is definitely decent too. Took the chicken strips and they were good although salty.
And if you have kids or have a kid inside you, take the 4d rides at a price (I didn't).
Recommendation: You should also visit the nearby peace monument too.

Amazing experience, kids and whole family loves it. The veterans volunteers on board talking about their service was just amazing to hear. Come early before it gets hit out on the deck. They have vending machines and is very accessible even for stroller and all. Amazing view of downtown San Diego to boot.

We decided to check out the USS Midway as my partner is currently active in the Navy and he was interested in seeing how an aircraft carrier compared in size to his current ship.
The history of the Midway is interesting to say the least! The volunteers on board are all very welcoming and informative. They give a great tour of the island (must do) which will give you lots of information on the history of the ship, and why it will likely be the last of it's kind to become a museum.
Leave ample time to see everything. We arrived around 2:30, they closed at 5pm and we still didn't get enough time to see everything. So we had to rush down to the lower level to see the bunks as I wanted to see what my partners life is like underway.
Thank you to the veterans and everyone else there. We really enjoyed our experience.

An incredible piece of American naval history. It's crewed by a friendly bunch of very knowledgeable helpful people. Who were more than happy to answer any questions you may have. There is restroom facilities on board and a cafe. There are some interactive activities to do. A great range of merchandise is also available. I rate a visit to this ship as a must do if visiting the area.

Great experience! After walking the ship for a couple of hours, I have a new appreciation for our men and women serving all around the world on these ships. It is such a unique experience to see all the inner workings and the size of these ships usually only see from a screen. Great displays of historic aircraft. Opportunities to sit inside some of the cockpits and even interactive experiences available. It's worth every penny to see a part of history and the inner workings. Many veteran volunteers sharing their experience in stories and informative talks. Plan to wear comfortable shoes, be prepared to walk and do plenty of stairs!
Highly recommend!!

Jingle lights was amazing. Taking two ladies to the museum for the first time, discussing the planes, WW2, how the US was drawn into a war we didn't want to be a part of, geographic isolation and the need for the island of Midway, writing a letter to our troops for the holidays, I forgot how much of the history I knew! The docents were incredible, customer service fantastic, and the lights on the flight deck were amazing. Definitely an experience to enjoy. Easily takes the three hours we allowed... I wish we had more time. Just go, it's part of our nation's great history with several connections to San Diego history. Enjoy!

The bridge area is currently closed off and under renovation as of Feb 2024, but other than that it was really neat! Definitely a good time. Be aware some of the inner stairs and hatch ways will be difficult for toddlers or older folks, but there’s also plenty to do and see on the top two decks. Enjoy!

This was a fun day trip while on vacation in San Diego, CA. It was about $32/person which is a bit pricey but it’s worth it to see the historic aircraft carrier. Very cool to see the old planes and some more modern ones as well. We visited on a Saturday around 2:30pm and it was very crowded, as to be expected. Spent about 2.5 hours. Very short line to get in the door since we bought tickets there and then they funnel everyone in the same way and then immediately have a photo op which slows things down.
Christopher Cunniffe — Google review
Definitely worth a couple of hours if you are into US military history.
Lots of WWII to modern planes on display and an audio tour is available. Friendly docents we're all over the carrier to answer questions.
Book your tickets online to save a couple of $s and to avoid one of the lines.
Visit time is probably around 2-3 hours unless you are in a hurry, or if you want to take your time.
A fair bit of walking and climbing if you want to see the whole boat.

What an amazing place. We spend about 5 hours touring the ship and had a great time. We even had a late lunch while there. Was a bit expensive, but was still good. We enjoyed seeing all the different places on the ship. There were even a few places where the staff or maybe volunteers explained how things worked. We really enjoyed listening to them and the different stories they had. I would highly recommend visiting this amazing museum. You won't be disappointed.

This is an amazing tour, make sure to take the audio device (free.) Also, be aware you will have to walk a lot. If you want to see all the areas, is around a 3.5 to a 4 hour walk depending on how detailed you are and how much of the history of the vessel you want to learn.

Touring the USS Midway is one of the coolest things I have ever done... If you are at all interested in history and or the military I would highly recommend you stop by. I spent 5 hours here and could easily spend another 5-10 hours. Thank you to all the men and women who served on this wonderful ship!

My first ever aircraft carrier experience, and it was very awesome. The amount of volunteers and people available to explain or give demonstrations of things was so cool, and there was so many of them. I was able to learn so much by people that were actually on the ship before it was retired and to me that is a little piece of history and firsthand experience that you can’t buy and it is precious. Would definitely recommend.

This was one of the most impressive museums that we have visited. As impressive as the aircraft carrier is, the staff and volunteers are even more exceptional - everyone we interacted with was amazing..!
There are bottled water refill stations and WiFi available. It may be advantageous to start up top on the flight deck to include the recommended bridge tour that stops about an hour before closing. Make sure you wander through the 'below decks' compartments, too - so much to see...!
I would recommend 3 hours minimum to fully experience the museum.

Had a great time here! So much history! We ended up taking a few hours there but could have easily spent more time. I suggest getting the self-guided audio tour. Definitely a place to take your time at and see everything. All the staff and volunteers were nice and informational. Loved the views from the flight deck.

Fascinating visit to the USS Midway. We easily spent 4 hours exploring the ship. That included the Voices of Midway film (which you must see), but none of the docent talks so easily could have been longer. We walked nearly 5 miles so make sure you come prepared, there is a lot to see, and a lot of steps! The audio tour is an excellent addition, contrary to what the website said, we did not need headphones to listen. Learning about the history and operation of the ship was eye opening. We visited on a week day in February and it was busy, so can only imagine would be pretty busy weekend and school holidays. Well worth the admission.

Lives up to and beyond the hype.
Had tons of recommendations from local friends to check this out and wow were we not disappointed.
Between the nice self guided audio tour (free) option that gets you more information from the pilots on the aircraft that actually flew them, to the aircraft themselves and then under deck, you will be blown away. It truly is a floating city and the sheer size and scale will amaze.
I could have easily spent 6+ hours here but my friends capped out at 5 hours of adventuring below deck and the flight simulator (extra cost but awesome).
If you are in San Diego and could only see one attraction, make it this one.

So much to see! The vets were so helpful, friendly and informative! Talking to them was a real honor and pleasure! The most interesting was the flight take off and landings they did up in the flight deck. They had video and several former pilots explained the process. So interesting! Large souvenir shop where I found t shirts for everyone! The soup was great and the other food looked good!

The USS Midway Museum in San Diego isn't just a museum; it's a time machine. Stepping aboard this legendary aircraft carrier is like stepping into the heart of American naval history. From the moment you set foot on the massive deck, you're surrounded by artifacts, exhibits, and most importantly, the incredible stories of the sailors who called this ship home. What truly elevates the Midway Museum experience are the docents. These passionate volunteers, many of whom served on the Midway themselves, are walking repositories of the ship's history. They answer questions with enthusiasm and detail, bringing the exhibits to life with personal anecdotes and firsthand accounts of life aboard the carrier. Whether you're a history buff or simply curious, these docents ensure you leave with a deeper understanding and appreciation for this incredible ship and the sailors who served on it.

Was a fun day trip at the USS Midway Museum! The Midway was the Flagship of the air operations during Operation Desert Storm in 1991 and since its decommissioning, its been turned into a museum. You might need a minimum of 2.5 hours to do a quick survey of all the exhibits, but plan for longer if you want to be more thorough. The flight deck exhibits have beautifully restored jets - many of them were featured in the Top Gun movies. There is a self-guided tour option that takes you to the decks below and it can be a little challenging if you have kids or pregnant as it involves climbing down some steep stairs. Audio devices are offered free of charge once you’re inside for more information on each exhibit. We bought tickets online and saved $2 each. Paid parking is available (3 hours at a time) but it can be difficult to find free spots right away unless you’re lucky.

What an amazing experience and a fantastic museum!
This was immediately on my list of places to visit in San Diego and it did not disappoint at all! While I'm sure there was a lot of the shop we didn't get to see, it really felt like you could see the majority of the interior. As you enter the hangar deck, you get to experience the enormity of the ship and see many different aircraft on display. From that level, there are a few loops that take you through the innards of the ship itself.
I think what surprised me the most is knowing that the carrier was built in the mid 1940's and retrofitted more than once, and it's amazing to me that they were able to do this and keep this ship in service for as long as they did.
Being up on the fight deck was a great experience. There are many more aircraft up there and you get some amazing views of the bay! There are also volunteers all over the ship and if you have any questions, they are happy to answer them for you!
I consider this a must-see if you're in the San Diego area!

5/5 stars! Absolutely awesome experience! You pay the entrance fee and get access to a significant portion of the ship, even with ongoing restoration work. The volunteers are incredibly knowledgeable and friendly - LCDR Sidney went out of his way to ensure we didn't miss a thing! The audio tour provides detailed information, and the exhibits feature actual uniforms and planes used on the ship. We even got to see areas normally off-limits to civilians! The gift shop and cafe are great places to relax and learn more. I'd highly recommend this attraction and would definitely return, either on my own or with my husband. Don't miss the audio tour …. As a documentary historic site, this infamous warship was once the very best and largest of aircraft carriers in the American Navy. Any boy at any age will be amazed at the ship, the exhibited airplanes, and that everything functions perfectly! You get to meet and talk to fellow crew members in former active service who can tell and show and answer all questions you may have. Americans are very proud of their joint forces, and this is a great opportunity to learn more about them. This is the best navy display on the entire US west coast! It's a must-see for all men and boys.
The Coronado Bridge, which spans over the San Diego Bay, offers a perfect view of the city skyline and passing naval ships. It is a landmark bridge that is worth visiting if you are in San Diego. Came with some friends and one of them kinda broke her leg so she we knew we couldn’t walk around too much but the Village itself is quite beautiful, people come to walk around the boardwalk, chill at the park and best of all they are dog friendly. The stores are typical of most places, The Bay company souvenir shop, boutiques, sun glasses, hat store, crazy shirts, toy store, hot sauce store and so much more. Can’t wait to come again and actually walk around the whole place! Give them a visit!

Scenic walkable area with lots of small shops and food options.
The main parking lot is about $8 per hour...but arriving at around 5pm on a Thursday afternoon, we saw a parking lot next to that one for only $5 for three (3) hours. Keep an eye out for this one if visiting.
Lots of photo ops along the San Diego Bay.

Walking distance from downtown, also to the USS Midway Museum. When you are in San Diego, make sure to give yourself a few hours to meander through the little paths and walkways. We had a bite to eat and stopped for a drink in a couple of places. Everyone seemed very friendly and welcoming. Mike Hess brewery was not too crowded and my friend mentioned they had great tacos so I was in! We had a surf and turf taco, grilled shrimp, and a Veracruz taco as well. Can't remember the fourth taco but they were all delicious!
We also tried a few drinks, one of which was a lavender seltzer that was pretty good, and my friend had one of the beers. Fantastic atmosphere, great people watching and other views. Highly recommend and I will definitely be back.

My wife and I had a wonderful time walking while enjoying the wonderful weather and sites. There are many activities to do and enjoy. Plenty of stores and restaurants. The place is well kept and clean. My only advice is map out the parking spots so you have different options for parking as it was very hard to find parking. My suggestion is the underground parking located at the Waterfront Park. The fee is $15.00 for the day and they are open up to midnight. It is also a couple of blocks away from Little Italy. I recommend visiting Seaport Village.

One of the best spots I've found to take beautiful photos. Had a bottle of wine and walked around with friends. The shops, park and atmosphere are great. It's dog friendly. There are many places to eat and drink. Saw people flying kites and having a good time. At sunset the boats and water look amazing. I plan on visiting often and taking lots of photos. Seaport village is a big area so there is a lot to explore. It would take more than a day or two to see all the attractions. There is also fishing tours and cruises that can be booked there as well. O e place I plan on seeing is the aircraft carrier museum.

Quaint little coastal touristy haven. There are tons of places to get a bite to eat, breweries, wineries...... We did the SEAL tour to see the sea lions... We spent a complete afternoon/evening. There are many gift shops and places to just relax and enjoy the atmosphere.

The place is beautiful. Nearby the sea, offers an ideal evening walk. A lot of gift shops to buy memorabilia to save your beautiful memories with. On the other hand, it was a nightmare finding a parking spot on a Saturday morning.

Quirky collection of shops and cafés in a unique setting right next to the water. Obviously set up to cater for the tourists but very pleasant regardless.

More than any other place, when I think of San Diego, I think of Seaport Village. Not only is it a picturesque walk along the San Diego Bay, complete with views of Coronado Island and Bridge, naval bases, ships and vessels (military or otherwise), the yachts in the marina and, if you're lucky, a pod of dolphins or whales swimming by, but there's plenty of things to do, see, and myriad places to explore, experience, shop and dine, for locals and tourists alike!
Parking is plentiful-enough, although absurdly expensive. Do yourself a favor and find a place nearby, and walk here, to save yourself an unnecessary and exorbitant fee.

Before visiting Seaport Village, we were forced to panic for a while because of the silence when we were pushed back by crowds in Little Italy. If I had been asked early in the morning, I would have seen freshly caught tuna cut on the spot, but I don't regret it. Because we had a very satisfying breakfast thanks to you. It has a beautiful port and a beautiful garden and park where you can take a walk. Two old veterans were anchored and very touching. It's a must-visit place when you come to San Diego.

The first time I came to Seaport Village I really enjoyed walking the art galleries and shops. However, since that visit most of the art galleries have moved from Seaport Village. There is now one art gallery - the Christopher Harvey Art Gallery, which I did enjoy..
Most of the stores are now tourist traps selling cheap souvenirs. But there is plenty of dining options.Dining has never been on our agenda the days I have visited.
Still, I did enjoyed the walking along the pier.

Best place in San diego. View was beautiful. Large lawn gives you peacefulness and neatness. There's no solicitor, marijuana smell and homeless.
Restaurant nearby was also perfect. Hope you visit here and have memorable experience :)

Cool little spot with tent vendors. Businesses mostly sell souvenir-type things. There are a couple of restaurants I would want to go back and try. The air smells delicious because of all the food being made here. Also, they have a huge indoor carousel for the kids.

This place is gorgeous and it has it all. I’ve been to SD multiple times, however I didn’t know this place existed. There is so much to see, there are lots of cute little shops, restaurants, ice cream shops, beach chairs to enjoy the ocean view and sunset. It’s a must!

A beautiful waterside complex with many shops, restaurants, a nice promenade with a beautiful sunset. It's a big contrast to Downtown San Diego, where there are many homeless people and empty storefronts from bankrupt businesses. When you walk from the Convention Center here you will feel that San Diego is a beautiful city.

Shelter Island is a charming waterfront location with an array of dining and drinking options, as well as a bustling marina. This idyllic setting is ideal for those who appreciate the outdoors, including walking, bird watching, cityscapes, and waterfront activities. The island's ample parking makes it easy to explore by car or on foot.
Okay this is our first time to Shelter Island here in San Diego! And it is a very nice place! Lots of parking on the street and there are restaurants and hotels as well as a boat marina! Very nice to walk around and get some fantastic views of the San Diego Bay and San Diego off in the background! Highly recommend coming to this location and checking it up!

Love watching the water and boats not a lot of people toggling for position in sand. It is the time of year when most tourists have gone so quaint atmosphere, people exercising, nice!

Visitors can also enjoy the sight of sailboats and luxury yachts in the harbor along with stunning views of downtown San Diego. I loved this place. It has a good view of downtown San Diego and the Coronado Bridge. Perfect for walking, jogging, or taking your dog for a walk. You can also go fishing. There's public parking next to the Hilton, and plenty of seating areas too.

Great place to take a walk and absorb the sights of San Diego. You have the picturesque downtown skyline, sailboats, yachts, military ships, and military helicopters all in one place.

A great stretch of land with stunning views over the harbor and downtown. Plenty of space to do some exercise, jogging, strolling, sight-seeing, relaxing, and the drive isn't so busy with cars so it is quite peaceful.

Harbor Island is a 1.5 mile long strip of land right next to the San Diego International Airport. It's not actually an island, as it is connected to the mainland. Harbor Island contains some hotels, a couple of restaurants, some water sport rental places, and a small park. There is a narrow strip of sidewalk all the way around it, which makes for a walking/running path of just under 3 miles. The park is small, has a small parking lot, and bathrooms. The last time I went into the bathrooms, the stalls didn't have doors.
This is a great place to come if you want a little picnic, some fitness, or to enjoy some great views of the San Diego downtown skyline.
