The museum also features a 360-degree theater and a kids' history room, offering fun educational activities for children. Admission is $9 for adults, while kids get in free. The gift shop sells unique items related to the museum's theme.

A charming, informative experience for the price ($5 for locals/$9 for everyone else). The Civil War exhibit is very well done, with motion-activated voiceovers that seem to be coming from the mannequins as they tell their personal stories. (Special shout-out to the "people" in the railroad car - I tried out every seat!) The brief 360-theater show was evocative and poignant.

Amazing experience, it was much bigger than I expected and had tons of information and artifacts to see. Took about 3 hours if you plan on reading a lot of the information. Free for children 15 and under and 9 dollars for adults. They have a good sized gift shop full of books and souvenirs. Finally the staff were very kind and helpful. I will be coming back in the future.

This was a very pleasant surprise as it is a beautifully prepared story of our Civil War. The exhibits are first class, informative and well designed. Allow at least several hours to see the whole story. Do not miss the circular movie.

One of the best museums We've ever visited! The format is really well thought out and the exhibits are beautifully curated. I love the mix of historic artifacts and storytelling from strategically placed mannequins.

We took out-of-town family here to learn more about American history. Admission prices were very reasonable. We spent a little over 2 hours at the museum. The museum had appropriate exhibits for children and hands-on learning opportunities. The entire family enjoyed the 360 degree movie. We learned a lot and recommend a visit. There is also a complimentary civil war library available.

There is a great playroom upstairs, free for kids while any adults go through the intense exhibits! It has imaginative play to act out living in that time period and toys and books for hours of fun!
Playroom hours are usually noon-5 Wed-Sun, but you can call to be sure.

Petrifying Springs Park is a vast area spanning 360 acres, featuring various facilities for visitors of all ages. It includes a pristine 18-hole golf course, sprawling picnic areas, playgrounds and ball fields that are ideal for recreational activities. The park's extensive network of accessible paved trails winds through wooded areas, prairies with creeks and off-trails as well. There are several rentable shelters available in the vicinity of the golf course, including cool fire brick oven type structures.
Such a BEAUTIFUL park! The lush green grass, adorable German venue on site, and beautiful tall trees make it inviting to drive through and stop by.
We grabbed a beer or two and just enjoyed the weather, scenery and fellow park goers company.
The landscaping and terrain reminded me of home (I was visiting from Oregon), with the turning of the leaves on the trees
Lots of parking here and appeared to be dog friendly, as many people at the park had theirs with them.
Take time to stop by and enjoy!!

What a beautiful ,clean park with such wonderful people everywhere. The Autumn 🍁 colours made it more precious .We had a wonderful hike with amazing nature memories. Park is really big with playground, golf course, barbecue place. So many parking spots and always sheriffs checking around. People working out, jogging, playing, laughing, walking their dogs . It's lovely

Incredible and huge place. Many accessible paved trails with plenty of off trails as well. Wooded areas and more prairie like areas with some creeks. Tons of rentable shelters and adjacent to a beautiful golf course. I enjoyed the wooded paved trail with my son who's in a wheelchair. We plan on coming back soon to explore more. We had to go quite a ways to find a restroom. All shelters were rented. Cool fire brick oven type shelters also. Lots of dogs, hikers, and bikes yet didn't feel crowded. Everyone was courteous. Everyone leashed their dogs. Clean and beautiful!

Pets, as locals call it, is fantastic. One of the oldest parks in Kenosha, it has something for everyone.Hiking trails, picnic areas, an amazing beer garden, and fantastic golfing. About an hour from Chicago, it is an easy and worthwhile destination, especially for family's.

The newly renovated Pets Park! Wow, it’s Breathtaking 😍‼️ Definitely going to be a new fav spot for my family. My kids had such a great time. The Scenery is gorgeous and the bugs weren't too bad. Loved all the bench seating availability, it was nice to take a break and take quick stroll on the trails and come back to play. My kids absolutely loved it and the multiple slides were a great touch. Highly recommended for independent (4 & up) kids.

This is a wonderful park. It is very large and well maintained. The bathrooms have running water and are clean. There are creeks, forest paths, picnic pavilions, playgrounds, grassy fields, wide paved sidewalks for walking and biking, and large parking lots. It's a fun place to spend time.

Awesome place, and huge! We ended up at 5 miles with just an outer loop, not including the many inside loops and deviations. Very cool biergarten as well, a bit pricey and ONLY CASH, so keep that in mind. Trails are NOT MARKED, so use Strava or if you're lucky, take a pic of a map if you see one (not to be confused with golf cart paths). Overall we would come back for each season to see the changes.

When we were children, long ago, we loved hiking on the trails along the bluffs at "Pets". This past weekend, mid-April '23, was our first exploration of the well-maintained trails at this popular Kenosha County Park. It is fairly strenuous in some places. In one spot a recently-fallen tree had not yet been cleared from the path, and it was so big it was necessary to go around the root ball -- but there was no big danger. There are steps made of 6X6 pieces of wood, which are well-anchored and stable in the soil. There are places in some ravines that are fairly steep, and there are no handrails. There are other places in the park where elderly and wheelchair-riding folks can go for a leisurely tour on mostly level trails. We exchanged happy greetings with lots of people we had never met before, which is always enjoyable.
The Kenosha Public Museum is a remarkable attraction featuring an array of natural science artifacts and a fine art gallery. This museum is free to visit, although donations are welcomed. It offers a fantastic learning experience for children and adults alike, with special emphasis on catering to young visitors through engaging exhibits and designated interactive areas. Additionally, the museum showcases live music performances from local artists that add to the overall experience. Overall, it's an excellent destination for families seeking educational entertainment in their community.
Such a precious place for both adults and kids. Spent 4 hours easily. So realistic exhibits and feel like you walk into the village and life of Native Indians. 2nd floor has unique curiosity collections and realistic animal exhibits. There was also art exhibits going on on the 2nd floor when we visited. 2nd floor also has some miniature carved art works. Little gift shop has interesting global collections. Loved the curiosity play area/classroom set up. Materials are arranged in cabinets that can be used to make stories or plays. Haven’t seen such set up anywhere else before. Fully enjoyed the visit.

Excellent displays including mammoth skeleton. Great exhibits on Indian life around time of European contact. I would like to see much more on effigy mounds and current research on those earlier periods (post Paleo Indian) because Wisconsin has the most effigy mounds in the world. It's your unique heritage and it's not well known.

Friendly staff, informative permanent exhibits of the mammoths and Native Americans, beautiful building interior, excellent temporary art displays. It’s always worth while to check out the public museum once or twice a year to see the new exhibits, especially since its free. :)

It is so awesome to have this attraction in our city. First off, its a free museum that accepts donations. If you have younger children, this is the place to be. Come learn and support this amazing place!! While taking my kids on a homeschool trip/tour today, we had a suprise at the end of the tour when we turned the corner and saw a woman playing the flute so beautifully behind what would've been an old trading store. She gave the kids pennys for a suvioner and my kids were so excited. I really love what they've done with kids areas as well. My kids 11, 7,6,and 5yrs didn't want to leave and we had been there for over two hours.

Kenosha is just full of wonderful, hidden, and free gems for the entire family to enjoy.
Easily a 2-3 hour experience if you go through all of the exhibits and read through the history. But definitely a stop you should add to your list if you're looking for a free adventure. I highly enjoyed my time here and I thank all of the individuals that help keep this experience free for admission. This is what makes Kenosha special.

HarborPark is a picturesque green area with a lakeside walkway, water features, art installations and seasonal festivities. The park runs parallel to the shoreline and offers breathtaking views especially during sunset. It provides an ideal setting for leisurely strolls or just sitting by the lake to soak in the calming atmosphere. Though parking may pose a challenge during events, it is generally available at other times. Restrooms are few and far between with one located near the marina.
Beautiful situated right on Lake Michigan in downtown Kenosha

I always enjoy coming here, it's a photographer's dream but it's a nice place to unwind, take a walk, and chill. It's great for mental health. My visit today was for the Biergarten although I wasn't very pleased with their N/A beer option.
I got a few shots of some boats, waves, lighthouses, and more. I even got some rare ducks with a purple head.

Beautiful location to walk and enjoy. The park parallels the coast line and is stunning in the evening. You can sit and watch the small waves of the lake, its soothing and calm. Parking can be a nightmare if there is an event going on. If not, parking seems to always be available. Bathrooms are limited and spread out with a good amount of distance. If you bring children, make sure you know where the Bathrooms are (1 is by the marina).

The Dinosaur Discovery Museum is a converted old post office that houses less than 20 dinosaur skeletons. It serves as an educational hub for children to learn about the connection between dinosaurs and birds through various displays. The museum also features a small gift store and a downstairs activity center designed for young children. Handicap accessibility is catered for with elevator access in the building, while street parking is available to visitors.
This museum was amazing and it being in a historic building was an extra neat factor. Upon entering, a woman greeted us and gave us some information on the exhibits. We didn't realize entry was free but gladly did a donation. My four-year-old was in awe of the dino skeletons and especially liked the excavation video that played on the wall. The older gentleman that was cleaning stopped to chat with us and he really made our visit go above and beyond. Just very cheerful, welcoming and like a grandpa figure. I wish we would have caught his name. My daughter was so excited to talk to him about the bones and dinosaurs.
As we moved on, we came across the educational section with interactive elements for kids. There is a dig area that is temporarily closed - we can't wait to try that sometime! The lower level is an activity area. It includes a window to see real bones being worked on, which was awesome! There are dinosaur themed books and toys and tables for kids to color. The whole museum is very clean, well thought out and age appropriate. Adults and kids can equally enjoy a visit here.
Our last stop, naturally, was the gift shop. There's all sorts of trinkets and treasures. We left with a dino plush and soft figure for our five-month-old and a dino dig kit and figures for our four-year-old. The woman working in the gift shop was so kind and my daughter was tickled pink when she was given a sticker. We will absolutely be back and had so much fun on our family day out. Thank you!

Impressive one-room museum! I was worried by some reviews it would be small. Well.. it’s small but packed!! Our toddler LOVED it and it was just the right size and time amount for him! Donations accepted instead of tickets, but surprisingly a lot here to enjoy, when the Chicago Field Museum seems like a lot, and this was focused primarily on just dinosaurs!(Which is what drew us the most!)
We enjoyed walking through the large room a few times taking our time, then enjoying the front entrance area where there are some kid-friendly activities - costumers/puzzles/ hands-on exhibits. Downstairs (basement) there is an official dinosaur lab and an open toy/play area! Also a dig box for fossils! Very pleasantly surprised coming from about an hour away-drive. Our little Dino-lover LOVED it!

Staff is soooo friendly, they have an amazing gift shop for dinosaur lovers and it's free!!! You can't beat that. This is our second visit, from IL to Kenosha, just for the Dino Discovery Museum. It's one room jam packed full of carnivorous dinos and my son loved it at age 4 and again at age 8. Very fun little FREE museum, donations recommended and well deserved. Definitely quality over quantity I was very impressed with the display but FYI it is primarily one smallish room. It is probably most appealing to younger kids. My almost 3 year old had a BLAST with costumes, puzzle, interactive displays. A very nice paleontologist? was supervising a dig exhibit in the basement. Very cool display of two dinosaurs fossilized while fighting

This is an old post office converted to a small dinosaur museum that holds less than 20 skeletons. The size of the museum is great for kids to get an introduction to dinosaurs. There is a small gift store, donations are requested, parking is on the street and a trolley is across the street which you can ride for a fee. Downstairs is a young child's activity center. The building is handicap accessible and there is an elevator.

What a great experience for our little guy. It's definitely worth it. Pretty much free. They accept donations. Small but very informative. They had a large room with dinosaurs. Then an area for them to be hands on n learn. In the basement there was more educational stuff for kids to watch, color, read, and learn. An area for them to brush and discover dinosaur bones. One thing I didn't like is... as soon as we got down stairs, there was a lady down there that told or kid right away he couldn't use his hands or touch the big sand box type hands on dinosaur discovery thing. Thst he could only brush it. It was rather uncomfortable. She was telling him what he could n couldn't do. If there are rules, please post them.

Big museum feel packed inside a small 2 story area. Plenty of facts to read, staff was great and it's free! Donation was made and preferred. Fun activities for the youngsters in the base level floor as well as an actual lab to view. Gift shop as well. Go to Captain mikes for lunch. Great afternoon

Small. For what it was, it was perfect. Several learning play stations for littles. Free with a suggested donation. Free parking out front. Historic building, was moved 2 blocks many years ago. For an adult I would recommend about 15 mins to see and read the info boards. A must see is the Kenosha Public Museum! Thanks for having me!

It's very cute but it's so small. You're in and out within 30 minutes if you stop to really look at everything. The downstairs does have a neat little activity area for little ones.

Educational and fun! The museum is small, but it has many fossils on display in one centeral room. The tour is short but interesting. The exhibits focus on the lineage of meat-eating dinosaurs and the evolutionary connection to living modern-day bird species. There are also some simple hands-on displays for younger children. The lower level of the museum has a large plexiglass window to look in on the actual paleontology lab! Behind that window, genuine fosil specimens are being worked on by researchers! Also, in the lower level, there is a play room for smaller children with coloring and activities. This museum is offered free to the public, with donations accepted but not required. The Dinosaur Discovery Museum is a great destination for an afternoon outing with the family!

A very nice small museum /research facility. Despite it's indeed a single big room upstairs with dinosaur skeleton copies and small interactive space, it's incredibly densely and thoughtfully packed. It took us with a 4yo 40-50 min to study them all. In the basement there is a very nice small kids activity area with toys/puzzles and a working preparation/research lab with multiple exhibits from latest field trips (really enjoyed watching the active lab). Definitely worth a visit!

This center has a magnificent display of historic Kenosha with many artifacts from the early days. Of great interest are exhibits on the Bain Wagon Company and Simmons Factory from the 1800s. Most importantly it has many archives and experts that can assist you with historical research. Archivist Cynthia Nelson and docent Jeff are both a wealth of information if you are doing historical research or need assistance with genealogical information. They were just wonderful to us. The location is beautiful out by the historic lighthouse. We can’t say enough great things about these folks. And only 15% of their collection is on display. There is no fee but if you have it give them a big donation so that they can continue to expand. Many thanks to them.

I was delighted to have stumbled across this charming, chock full of history, treasure. A first-time visitor to Wisconsin, I was limited in the time I was able to spend. My intent was to simply visit the gift shop to purchase a few mementos. I was greeted warmly by two staff, one of whom provided an in-depth tour of the museum. I’m still marvelling at the depth of knowledge that was generously shared with me. My regret is that I didn’t have enough time to spend there. This museum was one of the highlights of my trip.

A hidden gem of Kenosha History. You can dive deep or take a quick look. As a new resident, it was amazing to see the transformation from industry to restoration of the lakefront. I came away with a great sense of pride that people had in their manufacturing jobs and community. Their archive needs more financial support to process more of their collections for public viewing.

The Kenosha History Center has lots of information about Kenosha, wonderful displays and helpful staff. They lead walking tours of the Library Park area, and open the Southport Lighthouse and Southport Light Station Museum to visitors from spring through fall.
Recently discovered this hidden gem. Great beach with a playground for kids. Some small garbage washed up ashore, but still much cleaner than Chicago beaches. The parking is spread out and just enough not to make the beach crowded even on the busiest days. There are trees at the end, if you prefer to sit in the shade. If you can't find parking there, there's Pennoyer Park a mile north with a bigger parking and bigger beach, but no playground. I wish I knew earlier about both.

Not as clean as it used to be few years ago, but it's still a pretty nice beach. We visit this beach at-least a couple of times every summer. The parking is very hard to find on busy days when the weather is nice and warm. The only criticism would be the restrooms are not well maintained, so they definitely need some attention. There is a playground for the kids, but our kids never used this playground so far, since they just have so much fun on the beach.

Beautiful, spacious beach even on a warm holiday weekend. Be sure not to park on the roads around the beach and only in designated parking spots or they’ll ticket you within 30 minutes. Flush toilets available but no seats. Blue mat was helpful to get down to the water.

Quiet beach with good parking and a blue mat to walk from the beach house down to the water. There are lots of bits of debris from the lake on the shore so it’s best to wear shoes to do lots of walking. We were able to hang out with tons of pigeons and one lonely duck. They have a great foot wash station as well to clean up before you get in your car.

We spent Labor Day ‘22 here. It was really pretty, beach was nice, water was cold. Parking was free and simple to find in the parking lots. The beach was a little dirty with trash, but not excessive. We had a picnic and there seemed to be a lot of bees around the food. That was also the same for the outdoor seating at the restaurant we visited. Will definitely come back.

Such a beautiful beach! My family had a lot of fun and even found some shade to sit in. Only downfall is there isn't sufficient parking and a lot of people got tickets for parking in the grass.

We tried to visit on a warm 90° weekend and it was too crowded to find parking. We ended up going on the Friday afternoon before Labor Day, when the weather was in the 80's.. There weren't many people there and everyone was spread out.
There is a walkway that takes you closer to the water. This was nice because the sand is very soft and hard to walk in. The beach was clean, minus some cigarette butts and paper blowing around.
The bathrooms were closed at the time of our visit. All of the trash cans in the area had been recently emptied.
The water was beautiful but cold! There was a nice breeze coming in off the lake. On a cloudy day it might have been chilly but the sun made it very comfortable. There were several boats & jet skies in the water. A few people were swimming but not staying in the water for long periods of time. This is a beautiful beach to visit for relaxing, sunbathing and playing in the sand!

Great spot on Lake Michigan in beautiful Kenosha, WI. Might take a second to get used to the water temp, but its clean & clear plus the beach has good soft sand. Food & drink very nearby, bathrooms at public beach house. Frequently patrolled by friendly police, great family spot.

My family and I have lived this beach forever. Born and raised in kenosha, I could never imagine leaving the lake front area. What peace the view brings after a long hard day, or what a scene to just go for a nice calm walk. My kids ask to go to the beach even in the winter lol. Although I will say there's definitely room for improvement of food & live entertainment like the beach in Racine, I'm still grateful for all the improvements made recently. I look forward to the many years of memories my family will have here.
The Southport Light Station Museum is a restored lighthouse and keeper's residence from the 1860s that has been transformed into a museum showcasing exhibits related to local fishing and shipping. The museum offers an interesting history of how lighthouses function, with knowledgeable staff who are happy to share information. Admission is free, but donations are appreciated. Visitors also have the option of climbing up the light for $10 per person to enjoy stunning views.
The Kenosha History Center has done a great job restoring this 1866 lighthouse and Lighthouse Keeper’s house (open from mid-May through October). We climbed to the top of this 55-foot lighthouse and learned details of the history from the highly intelligent, knowledgeable, and personable tour guide, who also built some of the ship models in the museum. Conversing with him about history and music (since we are also musicians) was the highlight of our day! We also had a delicious lunch across the street at the Yacht Club restaurant, which is open to the public.

Climbing to the top of the tower added perspective on the important work performed by caretakers long before gps existed. Informational displays in the house itself were well done. The admission is no charge (with a contribution appreciated). There is a charge of $10 to climb the tower.

The place is stunning. Really enjoyed reading the history of the lighthouse and location. The choice of brick was superb. Unfortunately the pictures I took are not very good because of the time of day. Would have liked to gotten better ones with the sun directly on the front.

Such a great place with so much history about the ships traveling on lake Michigan. We were greeted by docent and caretaker. He asked us to look around and ask questions if we had any. He later met us and told us some interesting stories about ship history. The best one was about the USS Wisconsin. This is a must do. Highly recommend.

You don't even know how much you don't know about lighthouses! Sure, I climbed the 72 steps to the top of the lighthouse. Yes, the views were amazing & I took plenty pictures. An , of course, I now want my own lighthouse! The unexpected treasure was the history & explanation of how lighthouses function. The 'keeper' was a plethora of information, which, he shared willingly.

I find all of this extremely amusing as I lived there in about 1980. It was the Kenosha County Girls' group home. We used to go into the lighthouse to smoke marijuana. It was fully of cobwebs and totally abandoned for many years. A couple of years after that it was a group home for mentally challenged people of both sexes. I'm really happy that they are finally telling the old history, but please don't ignore recent history.

Really lovely restoration of the original lighthouse, with interesting exhibits. It was free (donations appreciated), and you can apparently climb up the light itself for $10 a person (we didn't )
Rustic Road Brewing Company is an industrial-style bar that serves small-batch beer brewed on the premises. Customers can enjoy live music and sports on TV while indulging in delicious food and great service. The happy hour is particularly popular, with wings being a top choice. The soft pretzels are also a hit, especially when paired with the Rustic Gold sauce instead of the cheese sauce.
Visited this place coming all the way from New Jersey. By far one of the best places in town to kick back, have great in-house brewed beer and food and it's definitely worth checking out their open mic night's for a full experience. Clean, good food, good drinks; you can't go wrong here.

This is my Wednesday night dinner place. The beer is brewed on-site and there are so many awesome choices. OCTOBER FEST is excellent!!! Food is excellent! My bag is the brisket sandwich with tots. Staff always take care of us and go out of there way to make the stay fun!. Wednesday is bingo night and they even let me be the caller one night! Chicken sandwich is legit. Outdoor seating as long as the weather holds. Get a flight and try all the beers. Crowlers for sale to take home too! A must stop for the food, the downtown scene, and local brewed excellence. I like how the cooks bring you your food and make sure it is the way you want it. The chefs here go all the way to make things just right. Cool people eat here....

Great beer, awesome environment, and food, and really nice people. The chicken wings were huge so even if you have a big appetite, 16 were tough for me. The doppelbok was as close to true form as you can get.

Service is fast and friendly! My husband loved his beer. The food was delicious as well. We ordered the Elote bites as an app, they were tasty. As meals, we got the Italian beef and the sliders. The sauce on the fried chicken slider was amazing! Will definitely be back

Have been here a few times now and was waiting until I was 7 or 8 visits deep to leave a review! Every single time was very consistent in the best type of way. Great atmosphere, really good prices in my opinion. I’m a fan of a good Moscow mule and it comes out perfect everytime! Can honestly say I have not had much food here but when I’m with somebody and I’ve tried whatever they had (wings, nachos) and it isn’t your typical bar wings and nachos. Really solid. And the service is no different from the atmosphere, prices and everything else…. Very very good. Rustic road and tavern next door are both by far the best spots in the area. And these 2 spots (sorry for bringing your neighbor into your review 😂😂😂) easily set themselves apart and far ahead of every other bar in the area!!

Spectacular! Great beer, great food, great service. What more could you ask for?!! Happy hour is da bomb! Get there early and enjoy some wings. The soft pretzels are great, especially with a side of the Rustic Gold sauce as an alternate to the cheese sauce (which is excellent as well)! Give it a try.

Anyone can work from a coffee shop, I opted to spend this afternoon working from a brewery. This one in downtown Kenosha and I started off just sipping at a beer for a while while pounding away at the laptop. But then one of the regulars ordered the lunch special and dang it, now I'm hungry.
Burger, all the way. With tots. Cooked perfectly, flavorful and juicy. Tots were crispy and went well with some ketchup and a second beer.
Oh, man. I'm going to need a nap soon.

Absolute 5 star for outdoor dining.
Double Track XXIPA. It's a strong IPA, as advertised. Heavy taste. If you don't know beer this is not for you.
Pretzels were crispy and delicious, especially with the dipping sauce
Street taco love! The shells were homemade. Every bite was delicious. We had the chicken and beef. You should too....
The tator tots were crispy as requested. Holy Moly to the sauce on the chicken taco. A little spicy but definitely where you want it.
For dessert, a caramel brookie, if you can fit it in.
This is a very nice Sunday afternoon stop, then a walk by the lake. Beautiful

I heard many good things about this spot, so I was excited to taste what folks have been raving about. I was disappointed. Our waitress/bartender was doing well and did a great job balancing all of the tasks while being the only one behind the bar. She's the reason why I gave RR an "okay" rating.
I asked for a mimosa. I was given orange juice that went bad. It tasted like orange juice and vinegar were mixed together. Our waitress was very kind when she switched out drinks.
We ordered both appetizers. The fried green pickles were not completely done. There was still batter on the inside. I was very excited to have this Southern staple, but I was disappointed with the outcome.
Our main course comes and was also underwhelming. My friend's burger was not seasoned. He felt that it was flavorless. I did the "choose three sliders": Fried chicken with creamy lemon pepper sauce, Italian beef with giardiniera, and the brisket with onion, pickles and house sauce. The fried chicken has far too much lemon pepper sauce; it took away from the actual taste of the chicken. The Italian beef was probably the best one of the three, but still did not have a lot of flavor that I am used to with this sandwich. The brisket had far too much sauce. I could not taste the flavor of the brisket. The chips also tasted like old oil and almost like they were fried too long.
I've heard good things about this place. I hope maybe that it was an "off" day. From my first and only tasting, I would not recommend this spot for food.

Rustic Road has excellent beer, and great-tasting food! I had the brat with onion and mustard and tots on the side, and my family and I split a (giant!) pretzel as an appetizer. We were served quickly and the food was very satisfying. My beer was also very good and my wife had the pineapple milkshake IPA (yes, that's a beer) mixed with a plum beer (as per the bartender's recommendation) and it was SO good! My wife's street tacos were wonderful, and my son's boneless fried chicken with the rustic sauce was very good. My daughter's sliders were also a hit. I was very happy with all of the prices, and I'll return at some point when I'm in Kenosha again!
America's Action Territory is an exciting family entertainment center that offers a range of fun activities such as go-kart racing, laser tag, mini-golfing, bumper cars and arcade games. The staff is friendly and the food is enjoyable at reasonable prices. It's a perfect place to spend some quality time with your loved ones, including young children and teenagers who can participate in various games like mini-golfing and go-kart racing.
Lots of fun for the whole family I have a 5 year old and 15 year old both had a blast mini golfing and on gocarts. Tasty food there too

My significant other and I gave this amusement park a chance with a brief visit. The parking lot was packed! That was an iffy start, but also not entirely bad, as that could have shown that people loved this place!
We went inside and walked around a little bit. Eventually, we went to the Ticket Sales counter to purchase tickets for the Go-Karts and Bumper Cars. We bought the individual tickets, as we weren’t planning on staying too long. The Go-Karts tickets were $8.50/Ride each person and the Bumper Cars were $4.00/Ride each person.
We proceeded to go outside to hunt down the Go-Karts area. The line ended up being really long, so that was a bummer. There’s not much they could have done about that, except maybe open an additional track. I’m kidding, of course. The Go-Karts were alright. I wasn’t a huge fan, but they were worth a try.
After the Go-Karts, we went back inside the building to find the Bumper Cars. They weren’t far from the Ticket Sales counter. Our wait for those was fast! They were pretty goofy, but they were worth the money. I came out a little dizzy!
We looked at the menu at The Eatery. This was a food joint that they had inside of the facility. I ended up purchasing a Soda S, Nachos, and Cheese Curds. For the Soda, I chose Pepsi. My significant other got a Soda M and chose Diet Pepsi. They gave complimentary jalapeños with the Nachos, so that was cool. The Cheese Curds had 1 Sauce Included, so that was cool as well. I chose ranch for the Sauce. The prices were friendly here. The food didn’t take long at all! We sat down at a table that they had nearby. The Drinks were great! The Nachos were tasty, especially with the jalapeños. The Cheese Curds were awesome. The ranch amplified the flavor! I was impressed by their food. It was nice to not expect much and come out being more pleased than I planned on being.
The cleanliness of the whole campus was impressive! For there being a lot of people in attendance here, the grounds were kept up with!
The staff that helped me throughout my visit were all pleasant to deal with. Everyone had the right attitude for being in the place that they were.
Overall, I was impressed for the amount I spent compared to the quality I received. I’m glad I tried them out!

It’s good old place to spend time on long summer days. You got to plan between their indoor arcade machines and outdoor activities. They have enough to keep the kids and family engaged for full or half day. It’s really depends on your family.
They have good variety for the value of unlimited wrist bands. The on-site concession/cafe is ok.
Staff is good and polite.
Plan ahead and have fun. To my surprise it was NOT crowded at all on a summer weekday late afternoon. Good thing there’s easy access to the rides and activities.

They played Taylor Swift for 6 hours straight. It was still playing when we left. The reason she’s single is obvious. She never sings about making her man a sandwich or cleaning the house. My only solace in the madness was the gasoline smelling go-karts idling at the track. Although standing in line eventually made me nautious from the rich exhaust of the karts, it was a better option than more TS. Overall, great fun to be had here. Go Karts are super fun. Batting cages are ok. They pitch a little low sometimes. Staff was great. Mini golf was challenging. Fun times! Felt 22 most of the time.

Kind of surprised we have not been to this place before, but a last minute decision to stop on our way home last night.
It was pretty busy and has a lot to do, but we only wanted to play mini golf and then get back home. They do have 3 courses which is a bonus and will bring us back again. The main one was closed or said the employees even though others were up on the hill playing so that didn't sit well with the kiddos. The course we played was fun and we will try again and see if we can get a little more time there.

We had our grandson's 10th birthday party here. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We had a large party room 13 kids plus adults. We had to buy an extra pizza and some soda. Surprisingly, the pizza is pretty tasty. We also had to buy extra game cards. The party package only includes a $10 game card for each child. That ten bucks goes fast!

St Matthew's School had a small fundraiser here for our 8th graders. It was our first time here. I was impressed. There are many types of activities. Operating from mid-June until October, their Country Store offers an array of locally grown crops and self-pick options, dependent on the season.
Had a good time even though it rained when we got there sadly, but we enjoyed ourselves while we were here. Our families favorite local pumpkin farm to visit EVERY fall season ❤.. There's so much to do for the entire family and it's just so creative and fun for the kids to experience. It's definitely not cheap for a big family ,but it's about the experience & it's an experience that you can't get anywhere else around here. You can see all the hard work that goes in to the upkeep of the farm & it's a respectable small buisness!! Our family loves Jerry Smith .

We took our first born here to see all the beautiful pumpkins and at that time also pet some of the animals and feed them with a quarter slats. That was 13 years ago and four more kids later visiting this Jerry Smith’s farm. The cookies are amazing as well on cold autumn day a nice cup of hot cider. They had it open to kids for maze and small and other things before now you’ll have to pay extra to get to the other side of the farm ($11) per wrist band does not include the haunted house. It’s a nice quick walk around for the kids with pumpkin and some pictures you can take. Stroll may be tough in some spots but not too bad. Always like to come each year for the cookies

The best pumpkin farm, hands-down! They have a huge selection and variety of pumpkins, all different colors, shapes, sizes, and textures, as well as lots of other veggies and seasonal decorations. The pumpkins are arranged in different heights, so the largest ones are in a taller crate which made it easier to pick them up without straining, and the smallest ones are on small platforms so kids can easily see and pick them out. The staff was friendly, and there were a dozen or more available wheelbarrows, which were lightweight and very easy to steer. I’m so impressed with their accessibility, too. There are seven very roomy disabled parking spots right up front, it’s wheelchair accessible (lots of pavement, not mud!), and the gift shop even has a wheelchair ramp. The gift shop is cute, and has canned preserves, salsas, and jams, baked goods, and seasonal decorations. Will definitely be back!

Jerry Smiths has been a classic go-to for my family for years. The movie-themed pumpkin people displays have always been adorable and the frosted chocolate chip cookies are irresistible. Entry used to be free a couple of years ago but times have changed. It's still overall an affordable experience though, especially compared to the other pumpkin farms near the area around Fall.

Amazing place to bring young children. We went on a weekday and spent 3 hours there until the little one had nothing left in the tank. You can tell they care, everything there is well kept and maintained. There are so many clever farm things, like the tire playground and the hopper basketball hoops. Definitely worth the trip and cost of admission! Prices on pumpkins were a little on the higher side, but not unreasonable and in the same ballpark as most other specialty farms. They had so many different types I had never seen before! The store sells great Asiago bread and cheese popcorn too.
Rik Blonski — Google review
I would not recommend this pumpkin farm, particularly for individuals with disabilities, as they had only five designated parking spots for disabled visitors, all of which were occupied. Furthermore, it was frustrating to note that a significant portion of those parked in disabled spots did not display a disabled placard. This establishment primarily caters to families with the means to spend, charging a $13 entry fee per person, which I found to be quite unjustified. The admission fee only covered limited activities for children, such as jumping, hayrides, and interacting with animals. Regrettably, the animals on-site appeared visibly stressed and anxious, leading to a sense of discomfort and guilt for supporting this establishment.
In addition, it was evident that the establishment had not invested in park renovations or introduced any noteworthy features that would warrant the increased price of admission. This lack of substantial improvements or enhancements further diminished the overall value and satisfaction of the experience.

Put this in your GPS now even if you can't go right away, if you love hiking and nature this is the place to be visiting! My visit was limited to a small portion of this nature sanctuary due to severe weather and other things. This place is kept tidy, as you enter the drive from the street it feels like you're imposing on someone's property. The driveway is maybe 1/4 mile and there's a small parking lot. There seems to be some sort of indoor facilities, I suspect a gift and information shop, but I hadn't entered. There are plenty of signs indicating which trails you're going to and there are maps and brochures by the building that you pass on the way.
I stepped on the trail to be welcomed by a bunch of mosquitos but I pushed on, the trail is well-kept and clean and the fauna is amazing. On this hot day in the 90s I anticipated the mosquitos would be much worse, and as I was wondering why they weren't I caught a glimpse of damselflies all over the place. Since they eat mosquito larvae it seems they were doing their part to keep this park in balance. The sights that I came upon were amazing and I can see why professional photographers would setup professional shoots for clients here. There are benches for resting or just to enjoy the nature around you. I saw a lot of options for the trails and some were themed such as the flower one. I enjoyed going alongside the river, hearing the water moving along the rocks. I sometimes have bad luck with wildlife and once again I heard more than I saw, and I saw more than I could shoot.
This hideaway is a hidden gem that I never knew about despite living in Kenosha for many years, and I will definitely be coming back often. I plan to explore every part of this sanctuary & arboretum. Please be mindful and respectful of ongoing restoration projects.

I've loved this place forever but last time I stopped there with a friend some kid working landscaping told me we had to pay $75 to take a picture there... I've taken tons of photos here w professional people and friends alike and have never heard of this, I told the kid that and he replied with, "I'm just trying to be a salesman here, we're a nonprofit place and have ninety acres to take care of" I've never been told by anyone there that this was a thing and I'm pretty sure he's just a landscaper trying to hustle hikers and anyone trying to take photos. So this once super favorite spot I always loved bringing people to and showing was kinda ruined by some jerk trying to hustle us for a buck. Idk if I'll even go back here for hikes anymore. Wondering if the owners are aware of this person trying to make money off of hikers wanting a candid photo at their nonprofit area.

This gorgeous building right on Lake Michigan houses some unique local art work, as well as hosts local events throughout the year, including Twilight Jazz in the summer (which truly is fantastic!!). However, as an "art center" it's doesn't offer a lot of art or art functions. I think this place could improve and do so much more than it offers now.

A great location, a beautiful building, and a fine place to see great local art. The staff are wonderful. A clarification to another review. The review regarding the wedding reception references the Kemper Center next door and not the Arts Center. Though they're on the same grounds, the Arts Center has neither a third floor nor an auditorium/gymnasium. The Kemper Center does.
Every time you visit here you will see a unique sunset, sunrise or high noon and the body of water is glistening like diamonds. There is parking, but only until 7pm, or you will have to walk from Southport Beach. If you are visiting from out of town, it will be worth the trip.

Quaint town. Visit the pier on a windy ,light rainy day and still experience the astonishing beauty of this beacon. Grounds are well kept. One can enjoy this 12 months of year depending on preference. Not to forget the amazing company of the birds 🙂 xoom in the pictures to get some motivation and drive up the shore to feel it.

Cool lighthouse you can walk on the pier to visit. There's a nice beach to the north of the lighthouse. Across the harbor are museum's and restaurants. This is a very lovely part of Kenosha along Lake Michigan.

Nice place to spend an evening and feel Lake Michigan. Great stop over place if riding to or from Chicago. Easy access to light house.

Beautiful lighthouse and worth the trip to drive up to and walk up to
Beautiful, historic cemetery with gorgeous, winding paths and an office near one of the gates. There are birth and death dates here that go back to the 1800s.
A relaxing, quiet walk through this well-maintained grave yard is a great way to honor and remember those who have passed before us.

There is an unresolved problem that needs to be taken care of immediately. My 22 year old nephew passed away suddenly. A gravesite was purchased and he was not buried in it because it was given to someone else. Now they are not allowing a femporary marker on the grave where he is buried. Sad for the family. Please do the right thing and let this soul and his family have some peace

It's a beautiful, old world kind of feel, cemetery. The people who take care of it do a tremendous job at it.
