The Kruger Street Toy and Train Museum is a nostalgic destination with an extensive collection of classic toys and model train layouts. Housed in a former school building, the museum showcases trains and toys from different eras, allowing visitors to touch and play with some of the items on display. The museum staff are friendly, making it a welcoming place for all visitors. While there is a resident cat on site, those with severe cat allergies should be prepared.
Lots and lots and lots of trains and toys from different era. Building used to be a school and now is the train museum. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. Kids cand touch and play with a few toys on display.

This was an excellent stop for children or toy enthusiasts. Old, unique and hard to find toys on display, which tend to bring back lots of memories and stories. Lots of interactive features throughout including a race car track, train functions, and pinball machines. It is located within an old school which is a museum in itself. Not really handicap accessible. I did not see any ramps or elevators so I would inquire before going. There is a gift shop and the exhibits do rotate throughout the year. There is also a train caboose that you can stay in for the night. It sleeps 4+. This was a great hour and half of fun for everyone.

This museum was fantastic!! It is a small place, but it is well organized and presented in a way that engages both adults and children. Each room is focused on a type of toy and features something for the kids to play with in the center of the room, allowing parents to browse the exhibits on the walls. Several rooms have interactive displays (model trains, Knex, Lego). There are several very impressive displays and some classic toys available for kids to play with.
We could have spent a couple hours perusing all the museum had to offer. Very fun!!

I was very pleased with this museum. They have a good variety of games and activities in each room. The people are very nice and is a welcoming place. FYI, there is a cat that lives there, so be prepared if you have really bad cat allergies.

Starting with the building, it’s beautiful. On the left of the building they have a train car hotel you can rent for $200 a night(in photos). Next time we visit PA we’d love to stay there! Walking into the museum you’re greeted with a nice train set, interactive, and a kind smile from staff. There are many themed rooms with thousands of collectibles, trains and toys! My father loves trains so we spent about an hour in the HO train room! They also have pin ball machines and many other interactive things to do in each room. I highly recommend Kruger!

this is such an awesome place with so much nostalgia. i did not expect there to be so much to see! from the largest peanuts collection in the world, to the intricate train sets, and all the toys for the kids to play with, this place is a gem and we will definitely be back when we have more time! also despite being such an old building it is handicap accessible which is a huge plus. you just have to ask for the elevator and they’ll get you where you need to go. great owners, super knowledgeable and really loves his history. and i love that it’s affordable! we came home with many toys from the gift shop because we could actually afford to do so. loved everything about this place.

We were attending a Thanksgiving family reunion, and this location was chosen for a "field trip". Everyone enjoyed the experience. Not only were there many, many toys and trains on display, there were plenty of opportunities for the kids (all ages) to interact. We had about 50 people in our group, and the large building easily accomodated us.
The staff was very helpful.
Based on my experiences with other museums, this facility is far above average, and is a very well run place. The staff both in front of the public, as well as behind the scenes, is to be commended for their fine work.
The building alone is worth a visit, because it is an old school. There is plenty of beautiful wood work, and some of the rooms still have their original blackboards (!)

First, let's talk about the building. Oh, gosh, it's beautiful. The old doors and woodwork is gorgeous. The ceiling is so pretty.
Now, the museum... There are so many fun things to do. For starters, there's a cat who tracked me down to have a bit of a cuddle.
There are fun things for the adults to look at and reminisce, plus there are a lot of things for the kids (or the kid at heart) to try out.
Be sure to check out all the snoopy stuff in the basement and keep your eye on the bushes outside the building. There may be fairies living there.

Nostalgic look back on childhood or bring the children to see this interactive toy and train museum. Set up in a reconverted schoolhouse each room is themed to vintage and modern toys, games, puzzles, dolls, miniatures, and hands on pin ball machines.
Upstairs is an expansive Christmas village display along with all types of trains, moving train displays as well as individual and unique train pieces.
Check out the various forms of transportation in that particular room where you will find things ranging from stagecoaches to ships and airplanes. Love Barbie and GI Joe? They are here too along with the miniature green fighting men from childhood.
When visiting the doll room complete with doll houses ask to see the back room where they have overstock porcelain dolls, dolls with cats heads and bride dolls.
An elevator is in the front but if you prefer to walk the steps you'll meet the resident cat. Outside is an actual caboose brought over from the B and O RR. Description of it is found in the gift shop.
Fun for the entire family!

Great museum. so many nice exhibits and interactive displays. They even have slot cars
Mark Mulvaney — Google review
Great museum with a diverse selection of historic items. There are model trains here of various scales, the Marx Toys section, puzzles, board games, knex, and more. Many of the displays are interactive for the younger crowd. Lots of Marx Toys which was fun to see especially the huge Big Loo robot. If you are a Peanuts fan there's a whole level dedicated to that collection.
Very friendly curator too.
The museum skews to a younger demographic but I feel older adults would actually enjoy this place most. The museum is in a repurposed historic school building with beautiful tin ceilings and moulding. Lots of the original details of the building remain down to the art deco era restrooms.
For those musically inclined, I found about 5 different antique pianos sprinkled about the place. Fun to play each of them while appreciating the workmanship and "old timey" tuning they've all developed.
If I was a local I'd go multiple times. As an out of towner, its an easy recommendation for anyone going through the Pittsburgh -> Wheeling area.

Visiting the Kruger Street Toy and Train Museum is a fun and nostalgic experience. The old-school toy and train museum is literally located inside a former school, giving it a very quaint ambiance. This place had several rooms full of old dolls, action figures, toy vehicles, pin ball machines, Christmas villages, legos, antique artifacts, and so much more. Each room had a different theme and can bring back so many nostalgic memories for people of all ages. The most impressive part was the massive model train sets that went through different themed villages. There was even a model amusement park with train roller coasters. The staff there is also very friendly and willing to answer all questions. It was a very fun experience and one I would highly recommend for people of all ages.

The first and best toy museum so far I've ever see I love seeing all the toys from different eras, including a few from my own childhood.I also love the free pinball machines. Playing those games was awesome. My favorite room so far was the doll room, the miniature room, and of course the game room . I also, the kinetic room was good. I also like their little mascot named Loo, a cat that lives there. That's why I rate it five stars it's like walking back in your childhood in that museum great place to visit

The Wheeling Suspension Bridge, an impressive feat of architecture, was constructed in 1849 and was once the largest suspension bridge in the world. Although it is currently closed to vehicle traffic, visitors can still explore this historical landmark on foot or bicycle. The bridge offers stunning views of the waterfront and South Front Street of Wheeling Island. This iconic structure spanning the Ohio River provides a unique opportunity to witness and appreciate a piece of mid-1800s history that is both remarkable and memorable.
It was the largest suspension bridge in the world from 1849 until 1851. The Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the main channel of the Ohio River at Wheeling, West Virginia. The bridge was a very interesting engineering piece of history. We wanted to see the bridge but it was under renovation. They were doing bridge repair, so the bridge was closed to motor vehicles. We could only walk on one side of the street near the bridge and get some good pictures. Hope it reopens.

The Wheeling Suspension Bridge is a nice local landmark and great spot for a walk. The bridge was built in 1849 and has so much history to it. Near the entrance, there’s a sign that gives a lot of helpful information about the history and construction of the bridge. They were actually doing renovations to the bridge when I was there, but that didn’t hinder the experience. When walking across the bridge, there’s great views of the city of Wheeling, the Ohio River, and Wheeling Island. It’s a cool landmark to visit if you’re in the area.

Bridge and area was absolutely stunning. And easy to get too.
Minus 1 star because its literally all construction starting at the state line. All of the area was down to 1 lane on every road.

This bridge used to handle two way traffic but currently going under maintenance. There is a new bridge for cars but people can walk in the suspension bridge. It’s a nice experience to visit this location.

Beautiful 100 some years old Bridge. The wind blowing on the bridge is amazing feeling. It's like nothing else in Wheeling. It takes about 5 to 6 minutes to walk across into Downtown Wheeling
Mari King — Google review
This is a really cool stop to make on a road trip. I really enjoyed that they closed the bridge to vehicular traffic so you can safely walk along the middle of the bridge. Unfortunately Wheeling looked almost like a ghost town with how few people were around and how many shops were closed down and abandoned.
Lawrence Dortch — Google review
In all fairness, the place is about to be renovated. Pretty run down cosmetically, but it was cool to walk on bridge suspended over the river.

I love downtown wheeling and the suspension bridge is no exception! I think it's a wonderful part of Wheeling and such a cool thing to see and experience! I often use it for my photography as it gives such an amazing feeling to any type of photos and the sun sets perfectly over it giving the most gorgeous golden hours ✨

What an extraordinary piece of architecture. Although it’s currently shut down to vehicle traffic, it’s still open to foot and bicycle traffic.
The views that it provides to the waterfront and South Front Street of Wheeling Island are beautiful. Spanning the Ohio river, you won’t regret visiting and walking this once in a lifetime piece of history. Built in the mid-1800’s , a chance to see, touch and experience such history can be once in a lifetime.
Oglebay Good Zoo is a spacious haven for rare and endangered species, boasting diverse exhibits and engaging nature programs. This smaller zoo can be comfortably explored within a few hours, with the added opportunity of participating in their red panda experience. The animals are well-maintained and content in their environment. However, visitors should note that the terrain is hilly, making it challenging for those with physical disabilities to navigate.
After reading the many negative reviews, it left us very apprehensive about our visit. We called ahead and spoke to Shauna, who was very accommodating in getting us set up with a personal tour. My mom is disabled and could not walk the entire zoo. Our tour guide Peyton was AMAZING!!! She was very engaging, knowledgeable and personable! We thoroughly enjoyed seeing all the animals. We visited the last week of October, so the weather was very cooperative. We were able to see all the animals and some even performed on cue. LOL.
While others complained in their reviews of the small size of the zoo, we thought it was the perfect size that was not too overwhelming. Being from NY with many major zoos which took several hours to complete, this zoo made for a quick fun visit for the family. Overall, it took about an hour to complete with our personal tour. It was totally worth every penny!
Thanks Shauna and Peyton for making our first trip to WV VERY special.

Nice little zoo. It was $15 for an adult to get in. It really doesn't take more than 90 minutes to walk through it. The most interesting thing I think was when I got to see an opossum in person and up close as one of the handlers was showing and discussing it. You were also allowed to pet it. I do think many of the enclosures were too small for some of the animals. That's unfortunate. The little armadillo kept spinning in circles, which is a sign of stress and mental anguish from being in a confined space too long. Also, the larger cat enclosures also seemed much too small for such large animals that are used to roaming. But the people were very friendly and the animals seemed well taken care of otherwise. There is an albino crocodile that we got to see being fed. The small tamarinds and lemurs were fun to watch. They also had a sloth, but he was hiding in the corner sleeping so I was unavailable to get any pictures or see him.

It is a really peaceful and calm zoo. The admission price is reasonable. I do wish there were just a few more animals. Each exhibit is a distance to the next so make sure you wear good walking shoes.

Incredible indoor area perfect for little ones. Themed toys are strategically placed between animal enclosures. I found myself able to take my time watching the animals while my toddler was entertained by the toys. The outside area was easy to walk with a stroller. Great viewing areas. We spent hours visiting and could have easily spent more time. Great little zoo!

This Zoo does have a lot to offer for the little ones. They also have a train that will take you through the zoo. It was a nice day so we walked the zoo. We took our time. It is a relaxing place. You can take your time. If you push you could walk it under 2 hours. There is a gift shop. I got some stuffed animals for my boys. Thought the price was fair at the gift shop. Stuffed animals were plush. I recommend this for the little ones

The keepers really care about the animals, which is so important, and this zoo is made for the animals. Walking around can be tedious due to a lot of uphill and downhill routes for us humans.
The cheetah animal encounter was insightful and exciting. Worth every penny.

Zookeepers here are always so friendly. Animals are well taken care of. Very peaceful. Lots of things for the kids to see and do, especially in the warmer months. Lots of unique animals. Easy to get around and see everything. Nice gift shop. Lots of other stuff to do around the park while you are in the area.

Loved our visit to this zoo. It was a smaller zoo that you can get through in just a few hours. we took part in their red panda experience and we had a lot of fun. The animals are well cared for and seemed happy. I would definitely say it is a walk and extremely hilly. Lots of places are at the top or bottom of hills. It was a good walk though. I would not recommend this if you are handicap or in a wheelchair. It will be difficult to climb the hills and be a quick ride down. I don't know if they have other options for handicap people. But it is super nice
Rusty Owl — Google review
The zoo is nice, the train is certainly intended for children as the park is small enough to enjoy on foot in about an hour and a half. Even with children, the train may not be worth it as the trip is not very exciting and there is no narration or introductions to anything that is passed. You can get off and back on the train at any stop, but that is unnecessary because the train won't be back by the time you are done with everything at the stop you got off at.
The zoo was located far back in the Oglebay compound, so it is important to pay attention to the mostly clear signage along the way to make it to the zoo. While the zoo itself is quite hilly, it is an enjoyable walk with the animals spaced between lush greenery. There are a few buildings as well that house some birds, reptiles, amphibians, monkeys, and rodents. Overall, a nice visit, but a bit overpriced for the experience.
Alex Hughes — Google review
Zoo plus several other activities makes this place a perfect place for kids and adults.
I would recommend to anyone to visit this place and go for day pass that ranges around 33 dollars.
It would be nice to have train schedules,
Map to display where which animals are located, route plan, arrows and markings to display which is the next animal, an option within the animal name board to contain QR code to scan to learn more about the particular animal that may contain audio, pics, history of animal, and general description.

We traveled from Michigan to see the festival of the lights. Of course we had to make a stop to the zoo! We are use to a bigger zoo since we aren't too far from the Toledo, OH zoo but we really enjoyed our time at Oglebay. Pretty much all of the animals were out which is always fun to see. We thought it was reasonably priced. It was a refreshing change from our local zoo!

This Zoo is best described as quality over quantity. We visited, with our younger son, for the Red Panda Experience and we had the most memorable time! Before the experience, we toured the zoo and saw animals that we hadn't seen at some major zoos. After the Experience we hung around for their light show. I wish I could give it more stars; I heavily recommend this zoo!

The Oglebay Institute Glass Museum is a museum showcasing an impressive collection of glass art and various crafts. The museum also offers glass-blowing demonstrations, which provide visitors with the opportunity to witness skilled workers turn molten glass into pieces of art. It is suggested that one call ahead to find out when these demonstrations take place in order to fully appreciate the craft. The exhibit features locally made glass and although items in the gift shop may be considered expensive, it is still deemed as a worthwhile trip.
How neat! I have a love for glass. Especially carnival glass. We learned a lot about glass making in the area over the years and we got to look at absolutely beautiful pieces. We visited during the festival of the lights so we also walked the grounds and checked those out. They are beautiful! We bought the tickets that included the Mansion tour and that was interesting also! We definitely enjoyed our visit from Michigan!

Walked back over to the other register again and stood there for a moment and the lady looks up at me and says sorry she couldn't ring me out not once did anyone say we are closed/or closing they let people walk around and look at items or use their bathroom without any notice

The Capitol Theatre is a historic entertainment venue that has been hosting music, theater performances and movies since 1928. The vintage-style theater offers an intimate setting with great acoustics for all types of events. It boasts of an impressive seating arrangement ensuring every guest gets a clear view of the stage regardless of their position in the room. The theater's age-old charm combined with its modern facilities make it an ideal location to witness live performances, creating unforgettable experiences for audiences.
My fiance and I saw Gary Allan here on March 25th. What an awesome show it was! An intimate setting with great acoustics. Not a bad seat in the house.
The employees at this venue were amazing. Very courteous and polite. I'm hoping to drive the 4 hours to see more concerts in the future!

The best, definitely my favorite theatre and will be back!! I came here instead of locally (Pittsburgh) due to the seats looking more comfortable AND being able to get box seating. This review is specifically for Box seats since there arent any reviews on them. The speakers are close but it was never too loud, sound was perfect the entire time. As you can see from the photos the seats are movable stand alone chairs that provide an incredible eye level view since the box sits high as the stage basically. I sat in Box B (seats 1&2) and yes some of the stage/performance was not viewable to the back right but that did not matter to me. It is so nice being able to move your chair to angle it to see the stage without having to keep your head turned completely and to be able to move the chair to have more elbow / leg room. The only downside for some people could be that these chairs do have armrests BUT you can ask for an armless chair (padded) when you get there. I am all about comfort and these seats are well worth the price, it was the first time I thoroughly got to enjoy a show without feeling uncomfortable, thanks Capitol Theatre!!! (Review from Dec 9 2023)
Yes there are concessions and they take cards as well. PS bring cash in case they have raffles or after-event artist interactions/photos. I parked at 10th street parking garage for $5, cash only. Entrance to garage is on "Lane 38" (turn left at light on 10th St./Market St. & stay left for Lane 38). The garage exit is on 10th street though, which after an event takes some time to exit.

My Hubbee and I were more than pleasantly surprised how beautiful this place was when we saw Gary Allan last night. I don't think there is a bad seat. I was so afraid that we weren't going to be able to see the stage very good because we found out about the concert only a week before. Since we had never been there, we couldn't get seats as close as we would have liked. We were in Section 2, Row AA and WOW, we could see great. I mean, obviously, closer would have been better but we were still thrilled. It was a uber wonderful place to see a concert because it had such an intimate feel and great acoustics. Now, Gary Allan would be fantastic anywhere, but I'm so so so happy we saw him here.

I love that the Capitol is starting to get a bunch of shows again. It's such a beautiful theater with a lot of history. I was really surprised at last weeks production of The Rocky Horror Picture Show that they allowed for audience participation, but I'm so glad they did. This is a very beautiful, well maintained old theater. The only very small thing I didn't love was that the popcorn was expensive and quite stale. Otherwise it was a fabulous show, the employees were helpful and kind, a just a very nice old building.

We pulled into Wheeling and hit the horrid roads leading up to the theatre and instantly thought "what kind of dump is this going to be?". Surprisingly the theatre was nice in the classic theatre sense. A beautiful old building. The staff was friendly, helpful, and hard working. They were an absolute pleasure. We got to the Seinfeld show early and were ushered into the "ballroom" for overpriced flatbread pizza and water. They also sold the local and domestic faves of beer and wine. The actual theatre was lovely. The lighting and sound were perfect. The show started about 25 minutes late as the local yokels continued to file in past showtime (7pm). Once the show started things moved relatively flawlessly. My only real issue with the theatre was that the seats are snug. Several overweight people had to sit in the aisles in folding chairs because the theatre seats were unaccommodating. A nice time was had overall.

Easy parking, entry and exit. Good seating plan, easy to see even from the back of the theater. Older theater, somewhat dated, however very clean, good sound and seats themselves were comfortable.

Excellent dog park I love taking my friendly dog there. Just beware of people with not friendly dogs. My dog was attacked he is ok, but the lady left so fast. I wasn't able to check him over till we reached the car. Take responsibility for your animals in every condition.

I work here and love it! I am Assistant Restaurant Manager for am, and couldn't be more excited! I love interacting with with the guests, especially at Christmas time because of my name...it draws people in to conversation.
I hadn't visited Oglebay's Mansion Museum for many years. It's still as wonderful as I remember, maybe even more.

Very interesting museum about the Oglebay family, the city of Wheeling, and furniture and home settings from various time periods across the last few hundred years. Well worth a visit, with a bonus of a combo attraction ticket to do a number of additional activities in Oglebay Park.

First time seeing this beautiful Home and Mansion it is. What a piece of history about the family and the contributions to the area and how he made his money. Was really impressed with upkeep of it and all the flowers in the gardens around. It’s a must see if in the area.

Great time in our cabin. Only bad thing was pool was closed for the week because schools were open and we were unaware of this.
The Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack is a lively lodging option that features a casino with slot machines, dining options, and a racetrack. Compared to nearby casinos, it offers an excellent mix of new games in various denominations ranging from quarter to $10-$25 per spin. The ventilation system is top-notch thanks to the very high ceilings. While the rooms are spacious and comfortable, they do not come equipped with microwaves or refrigerators.
Excellent mix of new games, better than most other nearby casinos. Lots of denominations from quarter and fifty cent to $10-$25 per spin. Ventilation is excellent with very high ceilings. Rooms are comfortable and spacious yet do not offer refrigerator or microwave. I play here extensively and am almost always ahead at some point. Staff is always fast and friendly. Feels very welcoming and I always have a good time. Don't forget your ID and players card:)

First time being to a casino had a great time. Had plenty to do spent the night room was good alittle dated but I wouldn't update the rooms to much because some people can't control there drinking witness that going back to my room. Had a great time food at the buffet was good with a wide variety. Not to pricey either. Would visit again but don't see me being a every weekend warrior. Maybe 2 times a year for something different to do. Would be nice if you get to the non smoking area without going through the smoking section and maybe a bar in the non smoking area too. But had a blast. A- worth the trip will go back. Enjoyed celebrating my birthday there.

Took my husband here for his birthday. Arrived later in the evening and it was a great experience. The staff were friendly. There is currently some renovations going on but overall the casino floor and bathrooms were clean. Wait staff on the floor were few but the floor wasn't busy either. The hotel rooms were large and smelled clean. My only complaint would be that room bathroom wasn't cleaned properly (something on the floor) also bed wasn't exactly comfortable but wasn't horrible either. Overall I would stay there again.

I have been banned for life from this place for picking up a 22 cent ticket from a machine I was about to use.
I have been coming here for 15 years.
It was where I went to have fun and have a good time.
It breaks my heart.
I didn't even mean to take the ticket.
It was a subconscious thing.
You walk up to a machine you're about to use and there's something sticking out of it, you usually remove it before using.
I can't believe I'm never allowed back here.
My whole family would come down here for Christmas.
I would drive from Canton, Ohio a couple times a week to be here.
I just can't believe this place would treat a customer of 15 years like this over change that no one even wanted.
I guess it's time to spend my money and time somewhere else.

Loved to have a great night with close friends. Slots and table games are great. The staff in every department are all so helpful, professional and very friendly. The food at the Point restaurant is absolutely incredible and worth the price of the meals. We love going to the casino and will plan to stay at the hotel soon!

Absolutely 5 stars for the generous playtime their slots give. I'm used to playing in a casino where it's hard to catch a bonus. Every machine I played on at Wheeling gave bonuses. Even if the wins were small they came often. I played for 5 hrs Sunday night, and walked away $500 to the good. Decided to press my luck Monday morning for another 5 hrs, and gained $300 more.
All the staff I ran across was polite, and helpful.
I didn't eat there so I can't rate the food.
Where improvement is needed is the outside grounds. It needs a good bit of TLC. Something as simple as picking up the 100's of cigarettes buds along the entrance path would make a great improvement.
The grand escalators upon entering looks dirty and well over used.
I'm still giving a 5 stars because I had a great time in the casino, enjoying their loose slots.

For what I paid for the room on a weekend wasn't worth it. The shower didn't work, old stains on the sheets, the door latch was broken, food crumbs in the night stand drawer. Only had a tiny body wash to use. No coffee pot. Good thing I brought my own. They are giving me a partial refund for the room. Don't know if I'd stay again. We did have fun gambling and had a great time other than the room.

Not a bad casino given the location. Wish they had higher payouts on the slots like Vegas. I hit 3 handpays in April and another in July of this year totalling over $12k. I've also put in quite an amount also. Floor waitress staff is always polite and smiling checking on if anyone needs drinks, etc. Front desk and security are always professional.

We found this Casino Hotel after a missed flight. One of the first things that we noticed was the staff here is very friendly and helpful. The casino is clean and newly refreshed and very comfortable. The hotel is perfect, quiet and the rooms are comfy and big.
The views of the river and racetrack are beautiful also. It is surrounded by a green mountain range.
The dealers are very fun to joke around with while you are having fun.
We will definitely be visiting here again in the future.

What a horrible place! We called the front desk because our toilet wasn't working. The front desk told us that maintenance doesn't come in until 8. I asked what he thought we should do because it's 6:30a.m. He did not offer a response. I don't know what is worse, the plumbing or their customer service. I highly recommend you never stay here. Adding a follow up. After checking out we were told by the supervisor that after an hour after we called the front desk, she sent up maintenance... I was happy to hear she didn't break a nail while dealing with the plumbing!!! Please note I didn't ask for a refund because I paid for exactly what I got, A LITERAL $HIT-SHOW!!!

It’s a very nice casino inside. The gambling floor has plenty of gambling options and the dealers are friendly. The staff was OUTSTANDING from the valet, shuttle driver, the front desk and even security. Our room was very clean and neat. My only complaint from the whole stay is that our neighbors at one one point were smoking tons of weed and it made our room reek of it.

Spent valentine's day here this year with my husband. Played on $20 for 6 hours. It was well worth the trip. Even ended up leaving with some cheesecake and chocolate covered strawberries for a nice dessert once we got home. I haven't been here in years and really enjoyed myself.

It was average. Nothing really stood out here although it definitely wasn't as smokey as other casinos. I'm not sure if they had a better ventilation system or less people were smoking in general. But that was nice. If you join their players club and get a card you get a free $20 credit to play.

Love this casino out of all other ones near us.. (mountaineer and the jack) it’s very clean and well taken care of. Everything from checking into the hotel room to playing table games, slots, and ordering drinks at the bar was great. I have no complaints whatsoever. The staff is always very friendly and helpful as well. We’ll definitely be back many more times!

My wife and I had a great time. The entire staff is friendly. Our room was super clean. The maid service goes above and beyond. The buffet is wonderful. The only minor negativity I have is the shower fixtures could be upgraded. We'll definitely be back, once I recover my losses.

The room is nice, clean and comfortable. Front desk and poker room staff are very professional. The buffet was not good. The selection was more limited than what should be there for the price. The quality was also lacking. Steak was overcooked and anything fried was really greasy. Hotel and poker room get a 5, buffet gets a 1.

Been going to the casino forever. I remember when the payouts were in quarters. You used to carry little buckets around in case you won. I remember when the parking lots were full you had to ride around or park a mile away now days you can park about anywhere. They made so many changes that it isn't worth going over. I remember when the machines had good payouts but not anymore. Your lucky to even hit. I go to the high rollers room and play the quick hits and they don't pay out anything anymore..... WAATE OF MONEY

I didn't actually go to this hotel, I went to the casino and some of the dog races. I was on a senior bus from Pittsburgh. The buffet was not open while we were there so we actually got some food at the food Court. Everything we ordered was quite delicious. Since we left Pittsburgh quite early, I decided not to have coffee but found it there free on a table making me very happy. I tried my first time at the roulette table and found that quite exciting with the game attendant or dealer very nicely explaining it to me.
They have great slot machines there. I had a great time playing them. I will say, that I find this whole entire place very clean and extremely well taken care of. Ladies always need bathrooms in their bathrooms were spotless.
Unfortunately we weren't there long enough to see all the dog races but we did get to see about 5 and that was a lot of fun. We had some perks form on the bus which helped with the finances quite a bit.

Family trip to the Casino was so worth it. We had a great time even though we all went away losers. Very clean, service everywhere was friendly and the rooms were great. I would not, unfortunately, recommend the buffet. The price is too high for the quality of the proteins. The ribeye and chicken were sub par and no one in our party of 9 was impressed with either offering. We did eat a lot of Crab legs and some of us enjoyed the lobster. I found it to be quite chewy and rubbery. The pasta bar was phenomenal, but not very well advertised, so by the time I figured out it was available, everyone else was too full to go make their own pasta dish. Some of the desserts were still partially frozen and not as rich and delectable as i expected for the price. Over $500 was spent in our group to eat. We all agreed we would just order pizza next time, but We would definitely go back to gamble and stay at the hotel.

You need to go through a sketchy part of town to get to casino. Ate at Saturday buffet all you can eat steak and lobster $50, greet deal. Food was good, was expecting more of a variety, desert table was embarrassing, no salad bar, bread was on one plate. Dining area was partioned off very odd setup. Service was good. We expected more for the price

This is the third time that we’ve been here. I was a little shocked that they didn’t have a refrigerator in the rooms but it’s a casino, so perhaps they removed them The last two times that we were there we had one!!! However, everything was great. I played a two dollar machine I’ve never played before and ended up winning $780. I was thrilled…. We live in Pennsylvania, so it doesn’t take us long to get there maybe two hours at best!!! I always enjoy myself when I’m there. The place is extremely clean the deli has excellent food, and so does the buffet.

We went on a Saturday night and scored a free buffet! Even near closing time, the food was fresh and delicious. The waitress kind of complained because we got drinks that she had to get from the bar and then never got them for us. We had to eventually ask a different person to bring our drinks. Overall, I enjoyed the buffet, but not enough to ever pay full price for it. The casino is super smoky and could use some air fresheners. The casino is pretty big with a lot of gaming options. A lot of machines were filled with people not playing the games, just sitting there while someone else plays.

The Dog racing is the Highlight of this place. Rooms are decent. Food was good. People are friendly. Slots are tighter than my pants after Thanksgiving dinner. Played $1 machine 38 times in a row and didn't even hit $1. For Dog racing excitement, I highly recommend. For slots. Save your $. Still very much worth it for the racing. 1 of only 2 Dog race tracks left in the U.S.

I went to the casino to get a free gift but I missed the day. Instead I found that I had $90 from free slot play. From there I played my slot play and ended up winning $39. And I never stayed at the hotel. The drinks were good. I utilize the floor service and got my drink in 3 minutes and it was at a discounted price. It was in a convenient location from Columbus Ohio in between Pittsburgh PA. I will go again.
West Virginia Independence Hall was originally built as a customs house and has now been transformed into a beautiful museum that showcases the state's rich history. It is a great place for those who want to experience where significant historical events took place. The displays are well-organized, and knowledgeable guides provide valuable insights. One can enjoy many hands-on activities at the museum while learning about West Virginia's past.
Great place for those who want to be present where history actually took place. Excellent knowledgeable guides.

I was highly disappointed. I love history and that in itself was a wonderful experience. However, as someone with health accommodations that require me to have water with me at all times, this posed a problem. I explained to our guide that I needed to have my water on me, to which I was replied to with rudeness and made a spectacle to my entire group. My water bottle was a standard Cirkul water bottle (highly durable plastic with a sealed lid). I felt very ridiculed and almost gave my water up after being continuously argued with, which would have been very dangerous for me. Instead, the guide let me be, but not without a lecture and a glare any time she saw me walking through the museum. I was very disappointed. I love history and the rest of the museum was wonderful.

I'm passionate about history. I despised it in primary school, but now, I cannot get enough. When I go to places like Independence Hall, it warms my heart. The people who have taken such time and care to restore and preserve historic sites such as this one deserve great accolade.
This is the site of West Virginia's birth, and they do a great job of telling the story. In addition you will find beautiful antique pieces throughout. This building is beautifully restored.
The museum is FREE. The staff were very friendly, and the gift shop is definitely one of the most affordable.
Travel tip: there is free parking in a small lot next to the building if you are visiting.

Coming from just outside Philadelphia, where we have taken our children to its Independence Hall and surrounding historic sites, the West Virginia Independence Hall is equally informative and much more affordable (there's no beating free). The woman working the first floor welcomed our family of 8 with a friendly smile, all while keeping a watchful eye on the whereabouts of our 3 youngest, ages 5, 7, and 9. The short movie was not too long to make our kids antsy, but long enough to impart the important events that led to the formation of the state of West Virginia. The 3rd floor court room was great for our kids to do a spontaneous dramatic play, replete with a Judge, Plaintiff, Defendant, Bailiff, Counsel, and Jury. The 2nd floor Flag exhibits were solemn, and the kids loved the felt "Create your own Flag" area. The 1st floor gift area was small, but covered lots of areas of interest for kids and adult

WesBanco Arena, situated along the Ohio River, is an interactive sports facility that has welcomed numerous visitors over the years. It currently houses a popular minor league hockey team called The Wheeling Nailers Hockey Organization. Like many other venues across the country, WesBanco Arena serves as a home to various sports teams and also functions as a large concert venue and event space.
Downtown Wheeling is a depressing mess but this arena is the heart of the entire sports world of the Valley. Not only is it a great venue for hockey and concerts, it houses the Ohio Valley Athletic Hall of Fame, the largest high school athletic conference in the USA. Over 40 schools have displays of their greatest athletes, teams, and glory days. The area was open to self tour but the Hall of Fame office only opens for special events.

We took mom to a hockey game. She uses a wheelchair and our tickets were not wheelchair accessible. Cindy from Wesbanco, changed our tickets to accommodate us. She personally escorted us to our seats. Someone from the arena checked on us during the game. I didn't get her name. We were assisted in leaving by a security guard. I was getting on the wrong elevator. Both mascots stopped and took pictures with mom. Very happy with our experience. Cindy said to call her anytime we need tickets.

I've been to multiple wheeling nailers games and I have never had a bad experience.you do have to buy tickets outside and then go in, they do have a wheelchair accessible entrance but there are multiple flights of stairs once you get in and I believe that there are no ramps. The arena itself is very clean and organized and I have never got lost. They also have multiple score boards so you can see the score easily. Also the very back row seats are cheaper and I actually prefer them because you can get a good view and they do have bars where you can drink and watch the game. There is also plenty of parking outside and if you ever get a chance I highly recommend a hockey game for a family or personal experience. I guarantee you will have fun!

Nicely appointed, with good sight lines throughout. Went for a Nailers hockey game (we go to at LEAST one each season), and had a terrific time, as usual.
Concession offerings were fine (not exceptional), but the event staff were sincerely helpful and friendly!
Can't stress enough how much that helps the "game experience": security, ushers, vendors, etc were each simply wonderful.
Go to a game next season: you'll enjoy it!

We just saw our first Nailers game and I was very impressed with this arena. The seats are so spacious. As a "big boned" individual, I am usually uncomfortable at places trying not to crowd folks but it wasn't a problem. I had so much room. Everything was clean and fairly updated and the concession prices were reasonable. We'll be back.

It was a perfect size arena. It was throw a bear on ice after they made a goal night and it was awesome. I’ve never seen so many bears being thrown on the ice for such a charitable reason. I know that they donate to the Salvation Army which is wonderful, and I know that a lot of children that are probably homeless or Are in need of a teddy bear this Christmas will get one. It was a great crowd last night. They had 1 million vendors they were selling everything from fudge to hard candies to freeze dried, jolly ranchers, which I’ve never had before which I have to say are very interesting. Lots of sweet tooth out there in West Virginia. Lots of fans lots of kids it was a good time even their food. Their concessions were fabulous. I have to say I had the best tacos at the arena and Wheeling it was fabulous. The food was not overly priced. I think it was decent for what they were offering. I mean they have to make money but it was reasonable. There are security walk-throughs that you have to do when you walk in there, so watch out for your metal objects, the parking garage was adequate. There was parking so there wasn’t a problem. There’s a little bit of construction in the city wasn’t too bad of an issue. I had a good time watching the nailers on the ice for the first time was pretty exciting for me. Definitely would love to go back! I think that there were a lot of people that worked in that arena, and they were all very pleasant and hospitable was a good crew! Thank you for a great experience!

Sat pretty close to the stage, on folding chairs. It was extremely tight, especially when all the seats were filled. I could easily imagine situation turning dangerous because of how the seats were connected and everyone was so packed in. Also, the sound of the arena wasn't great for a concert. I gave 2 stars because the refreshments were cheap and the employees friendly.
E.A. Pischke — Google review
We paid for front row tickets for a concert...unfortunately when we came back from getting refreshments we found people standing shoulder to shoulder against the barrier separating the stage. (we had to stand in a mosh pit for the entire show)
As a side note... the parking garage was directly across from the entrance.
Eckhart House, a historical residence located in Wheeling WV, is a notable attraction where visitors can explore the well-preserved Victorian-style property, engage in a traditional tea service, and take guided tours. The Wheeling Artisan Center Shop is a hidden gem that showcases locally made arts and crafts while also providing exhibits on the region's history. The center boasts an industrial-style interior that remains consistently clean, with friendly waitstaff to assist guests. Additionally, visitors can enjoy good food alongside the artisan experience in one convenient location. However, some have reported feeling unwelcome due to their appearance not aligning with cultural or artsy aesthetics upheld by certain personnel at the shop.
I really liked this store. Lots of neat things practically all from West Virginia. The only downside to this yesterday was she smell of feces. Oh. My. Gosh. At times it was so strong it made me almost vomit. It ruined a fun adventure across the suspension bridge.
But regardless, it was so fun to sit along side the river and watch the kids get photos taken for what we think was homecoming and then the ducks swimming.

The Cathedral of St. Joseph is a very special place to me. God is so present there...in the music, homilies, masses, scripture readings, and especially the people. Monsignor Quirk is known in this entire region for speaking from the heart and scriptures. People often say it is as though he is speaking directly to me. Parish members come from Ohio, West Virginia and Pennsylvania to hear him speak.
Most of all there is an ambience of peace and spirituality rarely found and so wonderful to experience. There is nothing like spending time there in the silence where one can listen to God's voice. I love this place.

I wouldn't trust my kids alone in these churchs people think oh the children will recover after being so called touched by the ones they are to turn to ,sick and the godly people think we who don't go to church are the bad ones please most judgmental....
A great community park hidden away from busy roads. A putt-putt course, walking trail, playground and large shelter are just some of what you will find there. Very well maintained.

Rocks under the black cloth and grass growing through it and no mulch in the enclosed area at all. This park isn't safe the rocks under the black cloth are huge and you trip on the constantly plus they are sharp and pointy if ya fall on them...

Nice small community park. It has 1 big covered shelter, small playground, mini golf baseball or softball field and a walking trial around the park.

Great, clean park with lots of space to run and play. There's a mini-golf course, so hopefully next time we'll remember to bring clubs and a ball.
