The Kanab Visitor Center serves as a base for hiking The Wave, a sandstone rock formation that features intersecting U-shaped troughs. The center is located in Kanab, Utah and offers permits for those who wish to hike The Wave. Visitors should arrive on time and be prepared for the lottery system. Cash is required upon winning the permit which is relatively inexpensive.
Here is where you get the permit for hiking The Wave. Be on time, be ready, and be lucky!! We got our permit on the first try! The staffs are friendly and chill. You will need cash when you win the lottery, and it’s really cheap. Good luck!🍀

Took the kids here early morning to get some information about Kanab. Had a great visit and found out some nice quick hikes. If you got young kids it's a nice place to stop before or after breakfast. We bought some cactus candy. It was okay but it was fun to buy.

The only thing that bothered me was the fact my sister was getting to close to the edge for comfort, but otherwise out side of my own anxiety, it's a beautiful and wonderful place, worth the walk, also if you also have blue eyes, I'd recommend a nice hat or sunglasses 🥴 I made the mistake of not wearing one of them, so if your taking selfies and squint like most of the lighter eyed people ive met, definitely get glasses or something, also you'll need some patience with the "Caterpillar" crossing people, just a heads up on those people

Stopped in because I wanted to break from driving... The staff was definitely very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Talked to them about future plans to visit. I was also able to buy some fun postcards at the store there.

Don’t miss this stop on your road trip! The staff here is a wealth of information for all tourist activities. The gentleman that helped us was Alan. He offered some suggestions for local hikes. We took his advice and checked out the toadstool area. The visitor center was very clean, and there are public restrooms as well. The restrooms are located on the outside of the building. I would recommend taking a few minutes to look around inside as well. They have some exhibits that explain some of the geological features of the area. They also have gift shops and passport stamps for collectors.

Such a beautiful new center!
I had the opportunity to enjoy it while attending a brunch here during the Balloon Festival.
The rooms are a terrific size and the bathrooms are perfectly clean & beautiful!

I am so glad I had the luck the win the lottery! This is a very nice visitor center including the Wave lottery room. The staffs there are very knowledge to answer any questions you might have around the area. The exhibition is actually pretty good that I felt bad a lot of people only came in for lottery. The exhibition gave you a very vivid way to see the geology in Utah and Arizona and differences between each layer. They also have a nice gift shop where you can find some nice souvenirs to bring home.

We love stopping at visitor centers and BLM/National Forest centers. Great place to get local information about cool stuff to go see. This one had a cute little museum inside of it talking about the geology and history of the area. Great way to keep your kids engaged!

Alan was great. He shared the best routes for us to take on our journey through Utah. We skipped a couple of our original places we planned to visit because he had hidden gems for us to visit and we hit every one of them. We had a fantastic time.

We drove through Kanab, UTAH after we left Zion National Park on the U.S. 89 HWY. Kanab is surrounded by these beautiful red rocks and its such a cool mountain/desert town! This town has alot to offer from off-roading adventures and lots of caves and tunnels too explore! A very nice place to visit and stay the night and it is very close to the east entrance too Zion about 30 minute drive! We had a wonderful time driving through this town!

Another place with great information. Glad we stopped by. Even though there is little for the disabled to do at the National Monument, the staff here told us about a somewhat Scavenger Hunt we go to and just drive, the Johnson Canyon Driving Tour. That allowed us to enjoy a day visit and make it possible to see some sites. I cannot remember the guys name but Thank You for showing us the driving tour, we enjoyed it.

The Kanab visitor center did not disappoint. Staff are very welcoming and informative. Something for everyone here. I would highly recommend stopping here for any recommendations on places to see or things to do in the area.

Love this place. I used to stop in to enter the lottery for the Wave, which is now 100% online. Now I stop by to show others the informative exhibits and to see the latest news on the area. The staff are always smiling and friendly. A quick visit is a great way to start your day in Kanab.

This is an excellent place to get information on places to see around Kanab. We had limited time in the area and they recommended two places with short hikes, sand caves and toadstool which were well worth the time and effort to see.
The Kanab Heritage House Museum offers guided tours, lectures and events for visitors. The historic home features exhibits and an orchard, taking guests back in time with original furniture pieces. The knowledgeable tour guide provides insight into the families who lived in the house and their impact on the community. In addition to exploring the history of the home, visitors can also learn how to make hollyhock dolls.
The tour is free. There is a place for donations inside during the tour; and the experience/information is well worth a contribution. If you get there while a tour is going there are pamphlets at the back door patio for an outside self guided tour to keep you busy until the next one begins.

We had an awesome time here! We learned so much about Kanab, not just this one house. HIGHLY recommend. We were blessed to have Emily B as our tour guide, and she was amazing. So full of energy and information. It was free, and worth so much more! Due yourself a favor and go, hear, see, learn about the Kanab area on this tour. Thanks Kanab for renovating this gem and caring about sharing the past.

We had passed by a couple of times and were enchanted by the gorgeous grounds and amazing architecture. We stopped by this afternoon and wandered through the beautiful gardens before meeting Tina who turned out to be a warm, friendly, and knowledgeable guide. We were lucky to be the only ones there at the time and got through a full tour before the next group came by. The house is immaculate and filled with fascinating history about the area, the history of the town, and the life of the people living there. Our kids were very engaged and really enjoyed learning about the families who lived in the house. We got a lot out of this visit and would highly recommend it to anyone. Thank you Tina and a big thanks to all of those who have put in the time and effort to preserve this piece of history. Would visit again!

We brought a group of high school students and Tina was wonderful and kept them mesmerized during the tour! Great opportunity to learn about historical household items, everyday life and the culture of pioneers when the home was built. Thanks Tina!!

A fun, historical experience in Kanab, Utah.
Kanab Heritage House is a home built in the late 1800's that has ties to the Southern Utah area.
The guided tour is fun & informational and the tour guides are friendly & willing to answer questions. They have done a lot of work and use verifiable information when telling about the area, the home and the families that have lived here.
The tour is about an hour long and will include several sets of stairs/steps. Sadly, it is not wheelchair accessible. There are lots of great artifacts to see and learn about and the preservation team had done a great job starting true to the history and nature of the home.
The ground are well let and beautiful. A perfect place to have an intimate wedding or get together.
The area gets warm in the afternoon so morning visits or those before 1PM are best to avoid the heat.
Overall, the Kanab Heritage House Museum is a great way to spend an hour of your trip learning about local history.

If you’re in or driving through Kanab, stop at the Heritage House! It will take you back in time, with original furniture pieces. The tour guide was amazing and told us the history of the families who lived in this beautiful home and how they influenced the community. She also showed us how to make cute hollyhock dolls. I am a great great (I don’t know how many greats) granddaughter of Thomas Chamberlain and we went to the Heritage House while on vacation and I learned a lot! I will definitely be going back!

Little Hollywood Land: Museum, Trading Post & Chuckwagon Cookout
Little Hollywood Land is a charming and quirky museum that showcases famous movie sets, an impressive collection of Hollywood memorabilia, and other interesting artifacts. Visitors are welcome to bring their pets inside, making it a unique and pet-friendly attraction. Although the display buildings could use some cleaning, admission is free (with donations encouraged) and the gift shop offers an array of fun items such as jewelry and shirts.
Explored this place extensively a few years ago and went back yesterday to get a peek and a few photos. The upkeep is great and as great of an experience as last time!! Cool to see the movie sets and props used in the old westerns. There's no charge but donations are encouraged, well worth a few bucks!!
Stacey Garcia — Google review
It was fun to see the props/and old buildings, BUT it's been a long time since they cleaned up the display buildings. It's FREE (donations encouraged). The gift shop is wicked cool for sure. It's a must see. Bring a pad to write down all the movies you'll want to see because of the visit.
Evielynne Holbrook — Google review
I love this museum. Lots of interesting things to see. It's amazing standing where Jody Foster did, and Clint Eastwood. You get goose pimples. You can see that making a movie definitely not as glamorous as being in the movies. If you're in the Kanab, Utah area definitely stop by.
Brandi Lapriore — Google review
Very cool little place. Old movie sets from The Outlaw Josey Wales and other old westerns. Nice gift shop with neat sandstone trinkets and Native made jewelry. Beautiful silver/turquoise rings.
Ann Marie Kurasz — Google review
Cute little place with movie sets and memorabilia. They don't charge entrance but they suggest a $5 donation per adult. I believe the newest movie that was referred to was in the '90s.
Laura Parke — Google review
Fun/unique attraction for a quick pit stop on your road trip! There are sets spaced throughout their outside lot that were used in different western films! Interesting for the adults, and entertaining for the children.
Lindsey — Google review
Unfortunately, my opinion is that it's a bit past its prime. If you have extra time you don't know what to do with, or are a big classic western movie fan. It could be an OK stop. Entrance is free, but donations are suggested.

I had an amazing time at Little Hollywood. I pick up an iron from the 1930s and few more lovely trinkets.

Very cute shop with lots of beautiful jewelry and gifts. Super friendly service.
The small studio set museum is very cute and a nice pastime while in Kanab. They are open Sundays when it seems like 99% of the town is closed. This is our second time here and we enjoy coming and checking the place out.

Loved it! We have three dogs, so my husband and I were going to take shifts going in. The very kind woman said bring the dogs, inside, they're welcome. When I told her I had 3, she was fine with that! Lovely little place! When we were leaving the gentleman working there told us we could take the dogs inside. We told him we did and thanked them both! My Gosh, how nice is that? Lots of nice jewelry shirts and fun stuff!
k montgomery — Google review
The museum has definitely seen better days, the sets are pretty rundown and props are falling apart. That said, if you're a fan of Old Westerns, they have a lot of neat movie sets you'll want to see.
This hike was incredible! It’s listed as kanab city connector trail in all trails and it looks like it might be really hard or even terrifying but it’s the perfect mixture of adding a teeny bit of fear to your hike while being an incredible workout and finishing with the triumph of looking out over the whole city and canyons beyond! Millions of lizards humming birds and flowers in late June
Margaret Chicoine — Google review
This is a great morning hike in the summer. It's a moderate hike but work goin the whole way. At the top there's a bench and you will have the most amazing views of the white mountains to the north. I would estimate 1 hr round trip .
evan willian — Google review
Wonderful hike. It wasn't too long, overall 3.2 miles (up and down) and had a few great spots for enjoying the landscape and taking stunning pictures. I would say the trail was easy to moderate but definitely easy to follow as there were plenty of signs along the trail. We got to see a few families on the way with young kids. There were a few places where the trail was narrow but most of it was easy. We encountered light snow fall on our way down, it was a fantastic experience.
Somen Choudhury — Google review
Loved this hike. It wasn't too long, and had a couple great spots to sit under a couple trees and feel the cool air blow around you as you stare at the landscape. The trail wasn't too hard to follow and this is a relatively easy to moderate trail. There are 1 or 2 narrow spots, and a couple steep rock steps, but the rest of it was a piece of cake.
Kody B — Google review
Absolutely loved it. This trail has signs so you know you're still on track. It is not a flat walk though. You do have to step up rocks, duck around others and it does get a little steep at times but my dog and I took our time and we were fine! We couldn't go all the way up because my dog is older and isn't a huge fan of it haha. One lady said it was about 1 1/2ish hike. We'll be back!
Ashley Cole — Google review
Moderate trail, definitely need good hiking shoes. There are a few technical spots, but nothing too difficult. Hold on to your little ones, there are a few drop offs along the trail. All in all, beautiful views of the surrounding mesas and the city of Kanab.
Gilbert Hernandez — Google review
Easy hike, it had a couple scrambles, very nice view from up high. Beautiful rocks and scenery. There are markers on the trail, number 22 is the last one at the end of the trail.
Hanlux Hanlux — Google review
Wonderful trail that can proceed to two or more trails. Avoid going when it's around 90+F. It can get too hot. 6am trip is the best. Please dont leave any trash in the area. The peak will let you see the town of Kanab which is pretty. You can park at the foot of the trail and there's a park close that has clean restrooms.
Daddy Long Legs was excellent very talented cast and the live band was exceptional too. I can’t believe anyone could memorize all that dialogue and sing for two hours. Impressive will be back to see more shows.

Here for the 4th Annual Kanab Film Fest and Food Frenzy. I can't say enough about the venue and the festival itself. The theater is perfect to have just the right intimate setting for the films and Q&A afterwards. Thank you Redstone for hosting the films this year! I always have an absolutely wonderful experience at The Redstone Theater in Kanab! The theater is beautiful and well-maintained, with comfortable seats and a great sound system. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the variety of events is fantastic. I loved the classic charm of the theater, with its retro marquee and old-fashioned popcorn machine. The prices are very reasonable, and I appreciated the special events and movie nights they've offered. Overall, I highly recommend The Redstone Theater to anyone looking for a memorable movie, music, and theater experience in Kanab. Thank you, Redstone Theater, for the many nights of entertainment and nostalgia!

We love the Bar G Wranglers show! It's easily one of the best shows around anywhere, family friendly and a lot of fun. These people are amazing entertainers and serious musicians, doing some seriously fun and sometimes very complex music that is a part of our American heritage. Even if you don't know the music, you will still appreciate the talent.

Don't bring your pet in! Brought in our 6 month old golden after oking it with them. The gentleman even pointed out they have water and treats. We started looking and one worker practically stepped on us and him. When he excitedly turned around to greet her( didn't touch her, he was on a leash and by me) she loudly said 'WHOA, WHOA, WHOA' and announced that if our dog wasn't friendly we needed to leave. If someone on staff isn't comfortable with dogs, just let people know from the start. I do appreciate the help they gave to the rest of our group, but my experience wasn't good.

A great location for information about nearby attractions.
The information center employs knowledgeable staff that like sharing the secrets of Southern Utah. So, feel free to ask all your questions.
Recently updated displays have gorgeous photos of the most popular attractions with info about each. This is a fun way to see what you can expect during your visit.
There are maps and packets about attractions and local companies offering tours. You can also get recommendations about dining and lodging options.
They offer free postcards and a map for you to put a pin in your home city. A fun way too see how far people travel to visit.

There was a lady with a name tag sitting and chatting with people when I came in, she didn't acknowledge me when I said hello but shouted to someone in the back, someone who never showed up. I browsed for a while as the lady with a name tag continued to have a personal conversation with the other people sitting in chairs around her, but ultimately left after standing around for about 10 minutes with no acknowledgement, and not wanting to butt into a personal conversation to ask a question.
Very disappointed.

Great place for all the info you need for hiking and mountain biking in the area.
Jacob Hamblin Park is a remarkable recreational area in a small town. The park features an array of facilities, including shaded seating, picnic pavilion with BBQs and fire pits, playgrounds with complete shading, splash pad for kids to cool off and restrooms. It also boasts basketball and tennis courts, skateboard park and baseball diamonds. Additionally, there is a swimming pool nearby as well as public library where one can enjoy reading.
Playground is fantastic with shock absorbing rubber mulch, tons of slides and climbing structures all ages of kids want to play on. Swings are fantastic and bathrooms are available on either side of the park. Dogs are not allowed at the park.
Pavilions covered many picnic areas which were perfect shady spots. Green space allowed ultimate frisbee games. Four baseball fields are nearby too. Surrounding cliffs are picturesque, and we walked over to the Squaw Trailhead too.

For such a small town, this park is pretty amazing. They have a huge grassy area with wonderful shaded seating all around. They also have a playground that is fully shaded which is very smart. Fantastic little gallery with a great variety of artists/art (jewelry, paintings, pottery, photography) plus a friendly owner with cool stories to tell about his photography adventures. What a wonderful little gallery. It would not be out of place in Park City, or any mountain resort in Southwest Colorado. I stopped in to see the artwork of Cyrus Mejia of Best Friends. I ended up purchasing a couple custom pieces of jewelry for the wife made by Kathryn Waters. The place was good dog friendly. The lady running it was very nice. Considering it was Easter Sunday we were there, that was a bonus. If you are looking for interesting original art by excellent local artists, this is the place to check out.
