When Passing by Kennebunkport Maine it's nice to stop by this place and have a short reflection or prayer. Been here 2x this year 1st was in summer and the 2nd was in fall. Both season was nice. Although during summer the town tends to be busy with tourists which is the total opposite during fall. The town is more quiet and less tourist however much of the shops are almost are closed for the season in fall. But st. Ann's chapel is a must visit when dropping by Kennebunkport.

If you’re in the area, (in our opinion) this is a must stop! This is one of the most beautiful places we’ve seen. We’re not Catholic, but we definitely appreciated the beauty of this historic place. Right as we got here it began to rain lightly and the few people that were there ended up leaving. We spent awhile wandering around, just taking it all in. The beauty of seeing it in the rain, is that all of the stones change to bright and magnificent colors when wet. They hold seaside services at 8am and stone chapel services at 10am on Sundays, where everyone is welcome. The stained glass windows are absolutely stunning and the craftsmanship of the stonework is amazing. Pictures do not do this place justice.

Beautiful stone chapel overlooking the ocean in Kennebunkport, ME. A must see in my opinion. Don’t forget to check out the small garden in the rear which features a stone bench dedicated by the Bush children to the memory of their parents.

Stopped by this chapel on a quiet Sunday morning in early October. The doors were open and we were able to look around. It's located in a very beautiful spot right on the ocean. Took maybe 10-15 minutes to just relax and enjoy the view.

Nice church established in the late nineteen century. It’s particularly interesting as constructed of irregular big rocks. The interior is modest but it’s easy to have an admiration for it. The stained glass works inside the church are really nice.

We took a drive along the ocean and came upon St. Ann’s. It was a bit foggy this day but that didn’t stop us from taking in the sites of the church ⛪️ and their beautiful property. Very peaceful and extremely well kept outside and inside. The bold red door is so inviting. Upon entry, just the aisle view itself is simply gorgeous. Lovely stonework and vivid stained glass windows throughout. A definite must see in your drive through this quaint little port town.

A quintessential seaside church. You can’t get more “Maine” than this.
The Franciscan Monastery in Kennebunk is a peaceful and beautiful place operated by the Catholic Church. It features a guest house, gift shop, and church where the public can attend masses. The monastery also offers scenic trails along the Kennebunk River for visitors to enjoy. The paved paths lead past interesting statues and shrines, providing a tranquil setting for relaxation and reflection. Visitors can explore the wooded paths and even observe a bee colony on-site.
A very enjoyable walk on the paved path. I did explore a few of the paths through the woods. You can find places to sit and relax, even in front of the bee 🐝 colony.
The paved path is half a loop and takes you past statues that I found interesting to look at. After reading the book 📖, "Monuments Men", I have become more interested in sculptures and statues. The points of the cross monument were fascinating to view and study. There is an outdoor area for conducting mass. There is so much to see 🙈. They even have a gift shop.
There is a short dirt path that leads to the marina.
The place felt peaceful.
The area where they conduct indoor mass is interesting. The area in front of the doors has a place where you can light 🕯️ a candle for a dollar.
Public restrooms are available.
I will recommend a visit even if you are not religious.

Absolutely beautiful experience stoping by the monastery. This was our last stop in kennebunkport and also didn’t stop by. Honestly the most memorable part of the town for us. The walk around was beautiful, peaceful, and adventurous every turn you’d find amazing views or beautiful gardens. The gift shop was also FANTASTIC if you send postcards (these are literally the cheapest post cards in Maine, 4/$1 beautiful vintage prints) and the shop keeper was a genuine kind man. We got a few gifts for my brother who recently converted and the prices for the religious pieces can not be beat. 1000% recommend stoping here if you can. You will not regret it.

We’re not Catholic, but were in the area and decided to stop and check it out. It once used to be a private estate and has been an active fanciscan monastery since 1947. It’s free to wander around the walking paths throughout the grounds with different shrines. Inside the chapel area, there are safe electric candles to light. They humbly ask for a $1 donation to push a button to light one up. The gift shop was closed when we got there, so didn’t get to see what was offered there. The restrooms are off the the right when facing the front of the building. They humbly ask for a donation for the upkeep of the facilities. It was interesting.

Great place. Peaceful walking paths with shrines and information. Chapel was amazing and quiet.
Went purchased some things in the gift shop. There was a wonderful assortment of religious items. After the gift shop we made our way to the office where we met a Franciscan Priest and had our gift shop purchases blessed.
What wonderful people.
Weather was perfect.

The monastery and the surrounding wooded grounds are perfectly serene, peaceful, and lovely. The Franciscan Brothers are warm and welcoming, a true joy to converse with. Many of them are elderly which has gifted them with a wealth of knowledge, experience, as well as a delightfully gentle sense of humor, which they will happily share with anyone who asks. In the summer, masses may be held at an open air “grotto” on the grounds, which I highly recommend. There is also an extremely well-stocked gift shop, much of the proceeds of which go toward efforts to save the monastery from closure in these difficult and uncertain times.

What a beautiful and peaceful place to visit. The grounds are great, the gift shop is amazing, the chapel is beautiful. The priest's are phenomenal, I love Fr. Andrew, you can feel his holiness just by talking to him. I love this place!
Goose Rocks Beach is a publicly accessible beach situated in Kennebunkport, Maine. It is neighbored by Cape Porpoise to the southwest and Granite Point to the northeast. The area is largely populated with seasonal residents from nearby states and Canadian provinces during summertime.
Limited parking. So that's the Bush Compound! Nice 👍 place! The captain of the boat, who the late President George H.W Bush called "Pirate", that belongs to New England Eco Adventures, was invited to visit the Compound along with other fishing 🎣 boat captains in the area. "Pirate 🦜" said the place was nice 👍 and was served drinks and hors d'oeuvres.
If you are able to visit Walkers Point, why not!

Beautiful view. We heard the blow hole and found it after walking down the path. Peaceful. Loved seeing the Texas flag in Maine. There's a small memorial to GHWB & a very large anchor. Only allowed 15 minutes if parking is available. My phone lost service at this area, hmmm. Secret service at the entrance to the compound. We waved, no response.

Passed by this great place in 2011 on my way to 136 Mills Road, before finally settled into 12 Mills Road, Cape Porpoise Motel, Kennebunkport, Maine. Great Compound. Secret Service Protocol kept me from entry without a prior appointment. The family is good and very accommodating. Only keep the rules.
The First Families Kennebunkport Museum offers guided tours of a well-preserved 1853 Greek Revival mansion adorned with period decor and some Bush family memorabilia. The hour-long tour is led by knowledgeable guides who offer a wealth of historical information about the artifacts on display. Despite the popularity of the town, visitors can expect small group sizes during tours. Visitors are treated to an immersive experience that showcases rich history through original wallpaper, rugs and furniture from the 1800s.
A very cool place with lots of history. The focus of the tour however is on a specific married couple who owned the house. It was interesting to see how the wealthiest lived at the time and were able to afford amenities I didn’t know existed then!
I found the relationship between the marriage couple to be a bit bizarre- the guy came from immense wealth while the wife came from humble roots yet she was super demanding and he was always trying to please her so it was an uneven relationship for sure. Anyways, the tour was great but I would’ve like a little more history on the town itself only because the relationship between the spouses were a little irritating.
But the guide was great and engaging and puts life into this house! It really is a beautiful piece of history and worth a visit 💜
But that relationship… oh boy 😂

Really enjoyed the hour tour here by Bob. What a memory for detail he has! The home is in great shape, with lots of original wallpaper, rugs and furniture. Despite huge crowds in the town this Friday noon, there were only four of us on the tour. There is so much rich history to be found in the lives and artifacts of the past on display here. Well worth your time!

Every time I’m in the Kennebunkport area I stop at Compliments and find something very, very special. 42 years in business, amazing!
The first time I found a lovely silk and wool designer scarf. This time it is a Josh Simpson glass planet. I have followed him for years but never got to see his pieces in person, Compliments had a dozen of different sizes to chose from including vases too.
What will be next?

Many beautiful pieces and a delight to look around! My friend and I really enjoyed this gallery, but with it being our first stop decided to come back in a couple hours later. However when I returned for a piece I was interested in, a man behind the counter was unwelcoming. I had asked about a piece, and a woman was very ready to help, but when I did not want it (because it was gold filled and I was looking for jewelry that was 10k or 14k gold), the man replied asking me if I was "a metal purist" with a harsh tone. It was a very awkward moment, and I had to say that I just didn't want something gold filled.... And he also told me to grab some wire. I know he was likely just kidding around and trying to make light of the fact I didn't want to buy something because of the material used, but my friend and I chose to leave the store immediately.
Except for the one man, the other staff let us look around, and the woman was very helpful in pointing me to the right direction for jewelry I would prefer based on the materials used to craft it. It was a beautiful store, with so many bright colors, and unique pieces of art, and so I recommend it for that.

The Goat Island Lighthouse, which has been restored to its 1950s appearance, is a historical landmark that can be accessed by boat during the summer months. The lighthouse offers stunning views of the surrounding boats and islands, and there are dining options available on the property for lunch and dinner. Although fog may sometimes obstruct visibility in the mornings, visitors can still enjoy kayaking or boating around to see other nearby islands.

Michelle Blew — Google review
I've been going to the daily sweat for a few months now. I feel experienced enough to write a comprehensive review (please note I only do yoga not barre or bounce).
For starters- the positives are huge. The classes are traditionally based and focused. They have seaside yoga at local hotels <3 The instructors are great, kind and supportive. Their sound system and music selection is super on point - you can hear the instructors very clearly and the music moves you but is never intrusive. The studio is clean, bright (I've been to some studios where its dark and they use incense and it's just way too woo) tastefully decorated and has no discernable odor. They keep the studio warm enough to help you stretch but not oppressively hot (its around mid- eighties). And it's a wonderfully supportive community. They gave me an extension on my introductory month when I had to go care for my mom, so huge props for that. They were even nice when I went FULL karen because I had gotten a class time wrong and screamed and banged on the door.
So tons of positives. There are only a few negatives, but they are problematic IMO.
The studio space is extremely small and classes book up way in advance. I got my original membership in April. At the time, I noticed that some classes booked up early but it seemed like a good majority of them you could book the day or two before. Now it's the thick of summer, and tourist season (they do weekly specials for tourists, sigh), and I feel like I have to literally plan my week around when I can get a yoga class that has open slots, and I just bought a 6 month membership.
Once you get to those full classes you are literally packed in like sardines. This again feels worse now than in spring. Like, if you are doing a side twist laying down you often have to shift around with your neighbor in order to not put your foot in their face. Everyone is nice, and everyone kinda laughs at it, but still.
One last minor thing- the instructors adjust you without asking who wants to be adjusted/touched. I personally don't mind, but every studio I've been to either a) asks who doesn't want in advance or b) just doesn't do it. So I feel like that would be a nice thing because it does feel a little invasive to do without consult.
I am hopeful they can get a larger space (for the number of people in classes and the rather costly rates, it seems feasible) and provide more classes in a larger space so most classes don't book up. I imagine things will also slow down in fall. If not, I'll probably switch to the studio in Biddeford, which is a 15 minute drive, but is a little less expensive and has a much larger space.

We arrived right as class began for mom and me, and we're greeted warmly and asked how they could assist us getting into class. The greeter took mine and my son's mats and placed them in the studio with all the right props. It was such a sweet gesture and so helpful! My boys (18 months and 5 years) loved meeting other kids and quietly playing or joining in the yoga flow. This studio and staff are welcoming, warm and caring. They go the extra mile to make sure you're comfortable and you enjoy yourself while taking class. By far the best experience I've had at a mom and me class!

From the moment I signed up for my first class online, I felt so welcomed with a "hello" phone call. When I arrived for my first class I was again welcomed in, given a short tour and just made to feel so comfortable there! I would highly recommend this place to anyone, it has made moving here that much better!

After months reading thoughtful emails written by Tiffany Lathrop at the yoga studio, I finally decided to participate in a Yoga Nidra class yesterday afternoon. It was lovely and I left refreshed and like I’d taken a nap, even. Mind you, I took a midterm exam after class, so I was also quite level-headed. Better still, I got a check-in call today, just to see how I was doing after my first class. Impressive. I’ll be back :)

Everything about my experience was a textbook example of what I would hope for walking into a new (to me) yoga studio for the first time. Tiffany greeted me as soon as I walked in, assisted me in signing up for my membership, showed me around the studio, and helped me find a good spot to place my mat. As soon as I sat down, the girl next to me introduced herself and we chatted until class started. She was so kind to even check in after class. Not to mention how Paul’s class was exactly what my body needed, without it even knowing. It’s always a little nerve racking entering a new space, so thank you for creating one that is so welcoming! Quiet & small but fascinating to explore! Small, but, free 🆓 parking area. Large seawall to walk and go fishing 🎣. You have to walk across perfectly round rocks to get to the sand. Very tidy, no pun intended! You can watch the boats slowly enter and exit the harbor. Pets must be leashed. Water 💦 looked so clean! You are right near one end of Parson's Way, a sidewalk trail that goes along the coast. I walked part of it and it was enjoyable. I don't know if the other seawall across the harbor is part of Colony Beach. I recommend this beach 🏖️. I did see 🙈 a wedding 💒 at a local hotel. Congratulations!

Note that the beach is rocky, so I would not recommend coming here if you don’t have a beach chair!
