Oak Grove Lake Park is a 65-acre outdoor recreational area that boasts a 1.5-mile path surrounding a lake, as well as playgrounds and benches for visitors to enjoy. The park offers great opportunities for cycling or jogging around the scenic 1.25-mile lake, with exercise stations conveniently located along the path. Fishing enthusiasts can be spotted throughout the park, although swimming and boating are not allowed.
Great spot for a day or few minutes outside. Play structure for kids, clean porta potties, plenty of benches and picnic tables. The trail around the lake is a wide gravel 1.5 mile loop. There are several docks to relax on or fish.
No swimming or boating

A family park perfect for a quick run, fitness or sightseeing. A large playground and a few stations to go fishing. One of the best place here in Chesapeake to walk your dogs.

My partner and I had the most delightful experience yesterday at this serene park! It was an absolute gem hidden amidst the bustling city, and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect day.
The park's centerpiece, a stunning lake, instantly captured our hearts. Its brilliant blue waters mirrored the surrounding lush greenery, creating a picturesque scene that felt straight out of a postcard.
The 1.5 mile path encircling the lake was an absolute joy to explore. The trail was well maintained, and we were impressed by how clean and well-kept it was. Walking hand-in-hand, we soaked in the beauty of nature while enjoying a leisurely stroll. The path was easily navigable, and we felt safe and comfortable throughout our entire visit.
It was wonderful to find benches strategically positioned to offer stunning views of the lake. We spent many moments just sitting and admiring the peaceful surroundings. These spots were perfect for relaxing and reconnecting with nature.
we also appreciated the outdoor exercise equipment dispersed throughout the trail. It was fantastic to see the park promoting an active and healthy lifestyle. We took advantage of the equipment and had a blast incorporating some exercise into our visit. It added an extra layer of enjoyment and made our time there even more fulfilling
We left feeling rejuvenated, grateful, a little hungry, and already planning our next visit. Thank you to the park management for creating and maintaining such a fantastic space for everyone to enjoy. We can't wait to return and make more memories here.

This is a downright lovely and walkable lake park with an awesome playground, wide open spaces, picnic tables, a fishing/outlook deck, and benches galore. A wide walking trail circles the little lake. Dogs are absolutely everywhere! This is a first rate park — and we’ve been to all of them, I think — and particularly highly recommended for people whose kids and/or dogs have been spending too much time on their keisters and not enough time in the great outdoors.

This place is a great time to go to ride a bike or jog around the 1.25 mi lake. There is a huge park at the entrance for kids and every hundred yards. There's an exercise station along the path. I always see people going fishing here, although no clue what they're catching besides a great view

This park is amazing!! The parking is eccentric. There seem to be a lot summer events hosted here by locals. The sights were amazing. The playground has a well rounded approach to entertaining children of all ages. The kids loved the playground and enjoyed the stunning NOV but.

Lovely spot for a run, walk, or photography sesh. These pics are from Nov, look forward to seeing it in the Spring! There is a fun playground and covered picnic tables. Only negative are the port o potties- only option for a bathroom. Also limited parking!

I walk here every day that weather allows and it is always interesting and fun. The natural beauty and the people out with their families and friends or walking their dogs make it a very special place. The city spent a good chunk of change creating and maintaining this place and it shows, and it is much appreciated.

Oak Grove Park has a 1.5 mile loop trail around a lake. Almost makes you forget you're in an urban/suburban area.
They only have 3 port-o-pottys. Better than nothing, but not great. Small parking lot. We often have to park on Byron, which isn't a big deal. Just be prepared for a full lot. This is a pretty popular place for people to walk and jog. Also to walk dogs, but must be on a leash that is no longer than 5 feet.
There is a playground for the kiddos.

Oak Grove is beautiful, the lake is beautiful, the walking trail surrounds the lake, it's calming and serene. Lots of shade as well along the trail.
There's a small playground near the entrance, and the only restrooms are port-a-pottys also located by the entrance to park.

Love this place. Super peaceful, with wonderful views of the lake. Porto-potties in case you need to handle your business, tons of seating, exercise areas, and a playground with slides and swings for the kids! This place is always so peaceful to visit (except for the part of the trail that is right next to the Chesapeake Expressway. I recommend this place! Parking is not ample, so plan accordingly!

This has been my favorite park in Chesapeake thus far. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. The water when you first walk in is so pretty! It's quite tranquil, but very popular so you won't be the only one there. I will say the parking lot is too small but I suppose you can just park across the street temporarily. It's a nice 1.5 mile loop so it's very beginner friendly. I will warn that there are animals on the path, some fluffy some not so fluffy so always be vigilant. There was a mid sized snake to the side of the path the last time I went. The right side of the path looks downright magical! All in all this park is a must visit!

We had fun here. The price seemed great for the strawberries. It was like $3 something per lb I believe. It was fun picking them. I was also pleasantly surprised by the live music and the animals that were there. It made it feel like a bigger activity than it was. The staff was also very nice.

The best part about this cafe was the ambience and the seating outside. I have a toddler who hardly allows me to eat in peace but here he was so happy playing with the chicken and ducks outside. I ate my breakfast happily seeing my excited toddler. I would go again for the view. The food and the drink were good, I wouldn't say the best but overall it was a great Cafe with cute ambience and the best outdoor setting.

We love this place and have been coming here for years!!!! In the spring the strawberries are always a blast to pick and they taste soooo good!! We really enjoy coming here in the fall too. The pumpkins carve really well, and they have some really unique ones for decorating. The farm stand always has some tasty home made goodies too so we like to mosey in there as well, they make really great gifts. Plus all the kids activities are always so fun too! We really just love the entire experience, I wish it was closer! It's definitely my families favorite farm and worth the 1.5 hour drive every time! Its also run by a family so that just adds to the cozy family feel.

Love this farm! Fresh, delish seasonal food, jams, and other yummy items for sale from local vendors. There is also a petting farm with a wide variety of animals. We get our pumpkins and corn stalks here every fall, and strawberries and other produce during summer. All is fantastic!

My family and I had an amazing time at the farm. The staff was very friendly and welcoming and I found the prices fair and affordable. One of our favorite features was the free range chickens running all around and I appreciate the free bounce houses and petting areas which included pigs and goats. We tried all the activities and the pony ride and hayride were our favorite. The strawberries are absolutely delicious!!! If you are looking for affordable family fun this is a great experience for the whole family.

I always enjoy coming to this very nice farm market.
When we arrived the staff was friendly & greeted us warmly, as if we were old friends. The friend that was with me was very impressed & will definitely be returning on her own again, as well.
Plenty of local produce, meat, dairy, sweet treats, & craft gift’s available here, despite the fact that it’s way outside of the busy season.
In the warmer months they have quite a lot of activities available for families, including some children’s rides (a train ride, bounce house, etc.), a small petting zoo, & food trucks, including the *most DELICIOUS* Lobster Roll’s, which are available every weekend in the off-season & much more frequently during the warmer months.

Northwest River Park is a year-round destination for nature enthusiasts and outdoor lovers. It offers a variety of activities such as fishing, boating, camping, horse riding, and putt-putt golf. The park is open to visitors throughout the year. One can rent a kayak for two hours at an affordable price of $20 and enjoy the peaceful experience on the water. Visitors are advised to bring extra clothes and shoes in case they fall while docking their kayaks.
This park has a ton of great amenities. First, you can paddle boat or canoe. There is a disc golf and mini golf course as well. The mini golf course isn’t great, but it’s a fun addition to the park. There are numerous trails with varying lengths. The views are beautiful. There are several picnic areas and there is a small park store. This a great stop if you’re in the area.

My boys and I spent the morning here paddle-boating, playing putt putt, and a little trail walking. Rentals are inexpensive (I think it was $5 per 1/2 hour for the paddle boat)
Park rangers are friendly. It’s a nice & quiet park. While on the water we saw trout, a crane, a turtle. After mooring we found 2 snakes (non-venomous water snakes) by the dock!
The first time we came it was to do trail walking & took my kids to the playground. That was also a good experience. Definitely check out!

Really enjoyed the stay. Had Spot 1. Don't take that spot unless you love hearing kids play all day (from early morning to dusk) at the playground immediately across the road. Decent bathroom and shower facilities. A bit buggy but overall clean and within an easy walk regardless of where your spot is. Electric at sites (30 Amp) but water has shared hookups so bring your longest water hoses. No black-tank hookup but a Dump Station on site on the way out (another reason not to take Site 1). ;) Reasonable rates ($30 per night). Come fully equipped because the Camp Store has none of the usual camping items such as small propane bottles, batteries, camp stove gas, charcoal, or even ice or firewood. Staff is friendly. Canoe, kayaking, and paddle boat rental available. Very nice little lake (no swimming) and a little river that is beautiful for paddling. We enjoyed our visit and will very likely be back.

Very nice hidden of a gem city park and campground. If you like hiking, horseback riding (gotta bring your own horse) cycling, camping, kayaking, paddle boating, or fishing then this is a good place to come. Campers Note: bring a Y adapter if you are going to hook up to water because it’s shared. Power was good & Verizon signal was ok.

I didn't explore the trails or anything, but I enjoyed the kayaking experience here. I spent 2 hours traversing the waterway. There were definitely some underwater obstacles that caused a couple of my group members to get stuck. It'd be nice if they did a little maintenance. I certainly understand preserving the natural habitat, but there should be removal of the large fallen branches/trunks. Overall, it was a good time.

If your like me and you love nature and the outdoors then this is perfect for you. I went out here alone, to rent a kayak. Probably one of the most peaceful things ive ever done. Spent $20 which got me 2 full hours on the water. I recommend bringing extra clothes and shoes as I did fall in while docking my kayak. Overall it was great, though. I slept like a baby after. Worth every penny. Also, everything except getting a rental is self service which is a plus, for me.

This is yet another great free park in Chesapeake, VA. And it doubles as a campground for those of you who are more adventurous and outdoorsie. There is the campground side and the free park public use area which is open until 6:45pm I think. There are a few different parking lots to choose from. I only went on one trail and headed back because this is definitely not a park for those of us who don't get out much. It's really big compared to other parks in the area so that means a lot of walking. There are restrooms and I think a store at the main entrance. They offer plenty of amenities like kayaking and canoeing and paddle boating, but again I only went on one of several trails they have.
If you're looking to branch out into more adventurous parks I would highly recommend this one as I said early It's pretty big so there's a LOT of walking to do.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for three nights in a tent. Had an amazing experience. Bathrooms were clean, hiking trails were excellent, they offered mini golf and boat rentals which was awesome. Campsite was quiet and relaxing, and gated which added a level of security that was nice. We are from New York and would come back just for this camp site. Had an unforgettable time!

We had a great time camping there even though it rained. We didn’t get to rent a canoe like I hoped because of the weather but it was still cool. The playground by the campsites was great and so was the other one for daily use. You could probably bring your own putter and ball to play putt putt for free. The only downside was that the campsites were really close to each other, but that’s expected for the area.
The Chesapeake Arboretum spans over 45 acres and is dedicated to nature appreciation and education. It features well-maintained forest trails and gardens that showcase beautiful vegetation. Visitors can enjoy a great short trail with multiple options for different loops or directions, offering a nice hidden gem for walking up to several miles. The arboretum also has a historical home on the property that is currently closed but expected to reopen soon.
They have great nature trails with a lot of plants marked. I enjoy taking my kids here to be able to see the local Virginia wildlife. We've come across raccoons all types of birds. Lots of ducks

Beautiful nature trails. They are easy to navigate and are well maintained. The treetop canopy provides shade when it's really hot out. The pond is lovely and serene; minus the potential for a barking dog in the neighboring residences.😄
There's no restroom, so potty before you go. 😆

Surprised more people haven't heard of these trails. A beautiful little cutaway from the city, the park includes several parks which weave through the local forested area. The parking and main buildings are across the street from the trails.
Similar to the trails at First Landing, they are marked and we'll trodden. Many little gardens and wooden bridges cross the trails. It is an absolutely beautiful forested escape.
There are, of course, a plethora of mosquitoes. Plan accordingly, as they are hungry and relentless. We plan on returning, but in the cooler season.
The trails are not as long as First Landing and often times you can see people's backyards behind fences. So if you want to really detach, Dismal Swamp may be a better path, just beware Horseflies.

Joshua Bond — Google review
This is a really nice trail. I'm not sure what the definition of an Arboretum is, but I will say this is NOT jam packed with a lot of flowers (at least as of August 2023). Even without a lot of color, it's a very nice trail to walk with a lot of little bridges, natural canopies, mushrooms on the ground, creepy looking trees, and some bits of water, a couple of tiny benches, and a wooden viewing platform. It's not too long but if you're not accustomed to trails you can get a little lost because things start looking the same but there are maps at some of the bridges which are lettered to differentiate them so you can get back on track. I did NOT get to look at the side where the parking lot is with the gazebo and some flowers so there's a bit more to see there.
PARK HACK!! I was pleasantly surprised to learn that if you exit at Entrance 3, you get a whole other little bonus park to explore!! Oak Brooke Park has a fairly short straight trail that leads to a more typical recreational park. So it's like you get 2 parks for the price of 1!

Some of the seat wasn't the most reliable to sit on or any in the gazebo. but it was very nice we took our family photos here. Nice flowers to look at. Didn't go on the trails on the other side though. Not very big but nice.

Great short trail with several options to switch it up and do different loops or change direction. Whether you want to walk 1 mile or several, this is a nice hidden gem. Beautiful trails to walk, and it's really peaceful and quiet. There are a few benches scattered throughout to sit and enjoy the surroundings. Lots of wildlife can be seen, depending on the time of year. In our first two visits we encountered a raccoon and a water moccasin (so be cautious).

I quite enjoyed my time at the Chesapeake Arboretum. It was nice and quiet. The only thing I wish was more clear is that the trail across the street has the lake. I was under the impression everything was altogether. Next time I will bring my walking shoes and take pictures of the lake and trail.
Great Bridge Lock Park is a picturesque island park that offers an array of amenities such as a playground, boat ramp, fishing area, picnic shelters and an observation beam. The location presents a serene surrounding with moderate water traffic that enhances the overall experience but not disturbing its tranquility. Visitors can enjoy boating, observe the scenic beauty or indulge in some fishing activities. Additionally, the toy at the playground is better suited for children above eight years old due to its size and structure.
Great little 2 lane boat launch. The kayak launch is also nice. Playground, picnic area. One porta potty. Clean and safe feeling. The locks are fun to see. Only issue I had was on the water. Be careful of the larger vessels who may not be concerned with their wake. 2 boats came through making a wake twice the height of my 15ft jon boat. I was close to taking on water on the 3rd wave of the wake.

The Garage Brewery is a wonderful spot in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. Located in the growing city of Chesapeake, VA I just adore this local brewery. Their beer is on point. Have you ever tried peanut butter beer? They have it. It is one of my favorites. I do recommend 5 stars overall in the community sense. In the biker sense…it is 5 stars as well. They are supporting the local biker community with bike nights and attending biker events. The employees are really kind and nice. They really enjoy the bikers of Hampton Roads. 5 stars. We do recommend this brewery.

The Garage is a favorite brewery of ours for multiple reasons - good location, friendly staff, the place is always clean, they do a great job of rotating food trucks, and hosting fun events. My husband and I have opposite beer tastes so one of the reason we love The Garage so much is that they have great variety - we can each always find something we want to drink. They are also super dog friendly with space both inside and out on their patio. We have been coming to The Garage since they opened (sorry it took so long to leave a review!) and absolutely love this place. We've talked with the owner, Ulyana, as she is often there; as well as the friendly staff. Think it's pretty cool too to see them collaborate with other breweries and local businesses. We will keep enjoying the beers at The Garage and happily recommend them!

Stopped in while on a road trip headed for OBX. We really enjoyed our time here. The place has a great vibe with lots of seating, windows, a funky garage atmosphere. There was a food truck when we were there. The beer was very good. I had a flight that consisted of IPAs, Sours, and a Coffee Stout. The Stout was the best of the bunch but it was all good. We would certainly be regulars if we lived in the area!

Solid brewery! Very nice atmosphere on the inside and very friendly staff. There is a loft area on the left from the entrance that is very nice with a set of Scrabble boards on the wall which just added to the experience. The beer selection was nice and the quality was very good. There is a food truck outside, tonight it was sushi, but other patrons were also getting food delivered as it is allowed in the establishment. I will come back!

Ever since moving back to the area, Garage has been my spot! Will is an incredible brewer, and he is always trying to different things to meet all sorts of beer taste buds. The Rusted Nail and In Dog Years I'm Dead are two of my favorites.
Garage is also a great place for community. I have made so many friends through Garage, and the staff foster a neighborhood, welcoming vibe. The people there are truly like family to me!
Garage is also intentionally welcoming and supportive of ALL people in the Hampton Roads community, having events during Pride, hosting fun drag shows, and partnering with local organizations that support amazing causes. It is encouraging and affirming to see a brewery valuing each and every person that walks through their doors.

I think the best thing about this place is that it’s open later than most breweries. There beers are all average in taste, but are slightly cheaper than some other breweries. This is a great place to hang out though. There is always plenty of seating and the music is never to loud where you can’t talk. I highly enjoy this place. Also has a nice outside area.
The servers are always very nice and polite. And super happy they finally got growlers of there own for purchase! Definitely worth checking out!
The bathroom has a head rest for the urinal. Do I bar to say more?

Blonde bartender is rude. No one was at the brewery so we didn’t think it would be a big deal to move one table next to another to accompany our friends. I turn around to look at the beers above the bar and she’s complaining about us to two guys that she is playing UNO with. Very unprofessional. If you had a problem just come talk to us! After hearing about us I felt unwelcome. We put the table back where it was after we ate.
Update: After the owners response we will be back! Don’t want to not give them another chance because of an employee.

I think if you are a very serious artist this is an awesome place to go! I would not recommend it for families or those with kids. I don’t think that’s the target customer. We attended a birthday party for kids at Potts and paints on battlefield and had an awesome experience. I returned there once last December to do ornaments for Christmas as well. Both times I thought everyone was so kind and family friendly. So I think if you’re going with kids and your vibe is more relaxed I would try there. To be fair I do have 4 kids and that’s a lot for some places. I understand not every place is designed for families and kids and it was my mistake because we had been another place and had such fun. That said if you really are a serious artist this may be the perfect spot for you just wasn’t right for us.

We brought 2 girls ages 6 and 8 here and they had a blast. The staff was extraordinarily patient. The selection of paintable ceramic items was great. Prices were very reasonable. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone interested in crafts.

My son took me & his sister here for Mother's day. He & his sister picked something & painted it for me (I painted something too). It was nice to do something different & have something I can keep & cherish forever that we did together & put thought into! It was alot more expensive than I would have thought something like that would be, but I definitely still think it's worth it for a special occasion like that.

*Don’t Bother! Much Better Experience At Color Me Mine!*
We literally walked out of this store, as the staff was extremely rude. One would think if you want $37 to paint a small figure the staff would be helpful and generous with the paint. We left and got paint and a figurine at Michael’s for $15.
Update
Scott,
I empathize with your position as a small business owner but once again you missed the point.
1. It’s factually accurate your customers will have a better experience somewhere else. I can tell you from first hand experience that they will be better served at Color Me Mine, Pots N Paint, or Barbs.
2. You did make a fair point. I was unclear. My point is that customers would have a better experience at another establishment OR by going to Michael’s. Thank you for the opportunity to clarify.
3. I have no idea what situation you are referring to. It’s clear you are loosing track of the customers who leave your establishment dissatisfied.
Greenbrier Mall is a popular shopping destination for locals and visitors alike with 4 department stores and over 120 shops and restaurants. It has everything from fashion to food, making it a great place to go for all types of shoppers. The Kid's Play Area is also a big draw, perfect for kids of all ages!
This used to be my absolute favorite mall for many years! Even after I moved away from Chesapeake I still came back to shop at the mall. It's a small, unassuming place where you can see everything (almost) from the glass elevator area in the middle. I realized now how much I had missed this mall, Macy's, the pretzels and the was a new store I never knew existed. They sell games, all kinds of games, new and classic like Operation, Trivial pursuit, Horror trivial pursuit, Sorry!, Jacks, they had Cabbage patch dolls, Mr and Mrs potato head and much, much more!
It was sad to see some of the empty spaces but we stayed mainly at the other end. I'm glad my daughter finally got to see this mall.💓 definitely worth it

Went to this mall with my travel buddy and some family/friends and it was a pretty decent mall, many of the stores were closed down I’m assuming because of covid but the stores that were open were pretty good though. They had a Bath and Body Works, Victoria’s Secret and a few food spots, they also had a Photo Booth too. Would definitely come back again if more stores were to open up but still had a great experience.

I went to this mall today to pick up my order at bath and body works. While I was driving around to find a parking spot, I noticed that there was a few cars that had a flower with a note attached to it in their car doors and I also saw a pink string in the parking lot and it really scared me. Just wanted to give out this warning.

Sadly alot of stores have closed, mall closes at 8 and almost all stores were closing doors at 7ish.. this was always my go to mall but it's gone down hill after covid and everything moving online.. the staff in the stores I did visit were great though, very friendly and helpful, so don't give up on it yet!

Another person in their car hit mine while I was inside and just left. They didn’t have cameras on the area nor was the security helpful in any way. Wish I never went to greenbrier mall that day. Bad experience. Plus that mall is going down hill.

I've been going here since it opened up for business in 1981. It's always a fun time here. Take a power walk around all the shops. This mall shows its age and the toll from COVID is apparent from several shut down shops. There is PLENTY of parking space, and this place is definitely ♿ handicapped friendly. Large facilities. Kiosks to repair your cellphone and/or tablet. Lots of jewelry and clothing shops.

Greenbrier Mall opened in October 1981 . There are some big retail stores like Macy’s, Dillard, JCPenney,H&M ,Victoria secret and cinema , jewelry shops, clothes stores, eyes checking, shoes, GMC vitamins ,massage store, Indian jewelry shops, lots of kiosk run by individual persons like phone repair, watches, perfumes electronic and electronic accessories. if you want coffee shop is also there and convenient store too, once you’re there you can eat while shopping in the food court, mobile phones providers many more small stores. Nice place for shopping. This mall is located at 1401 Greenbrier parkway South Chesapeake Virginia 23320 close to I-64 . The parking lot is big and there is restaurant in the parking lot Which is nice place for eating.

The mall is about 60-70% occupied which is better than most in the area. One anchor store is empty, but three remain. The store are largely clothing in nature, but there is a mix of others such as hair, eye doctors, and more. There aren’t really any unique stores or anything really special. The food court had a few options but was half empty. The carpet is dated and worn, but everything was clean.

Do not waste your time on this dystopia hell scape. Half the stores are closed, the stores that are open have half empty shelves. The place is disgusting, there's no cleaning going on. The bathrooms are vile and the parking lot is falling apart.

The place was amazing. The staff was very friendly. I picked strawberries, fed a goat and lamb & took a pick sitting on a haystack. They have a lovely small cute playground. I got some ginger snaps and lemon snaps. Lemon snaps were good. Assuming the ginger snaps were as well. I never got to taste them my boyfriend ate them all in one sitting. My main purpose for visiting was that they have FRESH farm eggs. The farm eggs were my only disappointment, the yolk was light yellow like grocery eggs and had no real taste. Yes I got the unwashed eggs.

Awesome place. I had to pull the kids away from the Fall Festival after hours of fun. This is one of the best pumpkin patches for kids. So much to do, and the unlimited wrist band is the only one I have found around. Who wants to pay $4 every time their child wants to take a ride?? Super friendly staff, actual challenging corn maze, hayride, train ride, horse ride, corn pit, sand pit, play area, and petting zoo. Highly recommend!

The South Norfolk Jordan Bridge spans the southern branch of the Elizabeth River, offering scenic views of shipyards. The pedestrian walkway is open during daylight hours and provides a great spot for running with safety barriers and elevation. The park at the bottom features amenities such as bathrooms, a dog park, playground, and boat launch. While trains may occasionally cause brief delays, the bridge offers a less daunting experience than it appears and presents a 5k route for runners to enjoy.
Great run spot! Safety barriers are awesome. I love getting some elevation. Great park with bathrooms at the bottom. Dog park & playground there too. As well as boat launch. Just be aware of trains, can block you for a bit, but not very often. Bridge looks more daunting than it is. 5k route up, over around base and back.

They obviously don't use the tolls to pay for their payment website.
Received a bill on 7/24/23 stating that payment was due on 7/17/23 and that the charges were as of 6/17/23 from a toll on March 31st!!!!
Because of the urgency, I tired paying online but couldn't.
Their site is circa 2002 and doesn't work. I called and waited on hold for about 5 minutes and paid over the phone. The customer service rep sounded overworked and tired. Fortunately, they hadn't applied late fees yet like for a lot of previous people.
J Bartell — Google review
This is a total scam. I crossed the bridge 2 times back in May and never received a bill. The only notification or bill that I got was today for $160 from a collections agency. I called both the collection agency and the customer service for the Jordan bridge. They both said there is nothing they can do about it even though I never received a bill and yes my address is correctly linked to my truck. I said so if the post office “loses your mail” it's your fault and the collection agency for this bridge said yes. It’s amazing they can get away with scamming this many people. I will be contacting Wavy TV 10 to see if they can do something about this because this is downright unethical.Update/Response: So if you actually read what I posted I said I never received any bill or invoice. It’s okay your solution to the problem is “just get an EZ-Pass” instead of actually trying to fix the problem at hand. There is a reason your reviews are the way they are but y’all refuse to fix the problem. Like I said it’s a total scam.

I wish 0 was an option. I have been in tears trying to pay a bill I thought was paid but was apparently unsuccessfully deposited. This seems to be a trend after reading all of the other reviews. I never received a notice that it was not paid. The website would not work and I was not given much notice so I mailed a check because that was the quickest option I could do to not get late fees. which was apparently never received but I am not sure after reading everything that I even believe that. I am now on the phone with collections in tears because I just found out today that there was even a payment issue. 6+ months later with no notices. The first notice I received was from collections which seems to be a trend. I wish someone would investigate them because there is a pattern here. Avoid the bridge at all costs. Customer service also was not helpful at all. Told me I should have looked it up myself if I didn't receive any mail- because I knew I crossed a bridge. I did not even know the name of the bridge to look it up! And I was never able to access any online account with the information I had it didn't even work. So her blaming me for not looking it up was a useless suggestion anyway. Seems they are trained to make sure it gets sent to collections for the money. With so many people with the same complaint I am not sure how this is not some sort of fraud.

They sent us a bill even though we have an easy pass. They sent the bill to the wrong address (their fault, not ours), and now want us to pay $108 for an $8 toll. This is highway robbery. They sent text reminders to pay, to my phone while I was deployed. I didn’t receive the texts, so the debt continued to climb. Unacceptable.

This company is the worst I got a notice of a past due balance I called them just to be told by two different reps that nothing was on file for me owing anything. So I was so confused as to wondering why I am getting a collections bills. I was told to do a dispute and I got the d denial for the dispute on the 21th of December as to which the letter of denial was dated back on 11/9/2023. So this goes to show you that they do not send out invoices and toll invoices in a timely manner rather than wait for it to accumulate and be sent to collections. I don’t understand how I owed anything if I was told nothing was ever on file for me in the beginning. I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau so some sort of action can be done due to thier incompetence it costing people money

Drove over the bridge about five months ago and I’m just now getting a letter from dmv stating that my regristration can’t be renewed because I have a pending charge from snjb. I drove in this bridge once and have never received any type of mail what’s so ever from this place or any creditor what so ever. I’m very on top of my money and bank balances and I very much don’t play with my money. It’s a very great thing that I’m friends with some good lawyers and will be ready to take suit because I can clearly see a trend where this is becoming a scam.

All about money. Had charges on my eazypass for one direction then on the return trip no charges. Billed for the return trip regardless of the eazypass. Once I contacted customer service, they told me it wasn’t their fault but instead it was eazypass. When in fact it was their camera system.
Not to mention when the bridge was shut down no notifications were given and they still charged for the trips. Let’s just say I’d rather drive and sit in traffic than use this bridge.

Highway robbery!!!! Crossing the bridge with an EZPASS in a brand new vehicle with temporary plates is not recognized by the Jordan Bridge. This is absolutely ridicules, and the fees and penalties charged are criminal. This has to change!!!!! This is grifting at its finest.
Since I can't respond to your comment and inferences, I'll edit my initial review. My issue is this, I had just purchased a new vehicle and crossed The Jordan Bridge with temporary tags on the vehicle and an EZPASS PROPERLY mounted with ample funds loaded. Your facility told me that I was charged by plate because of my tags. Reaching out to E-ZPass is a moot point in this matter because the charges and fees come from your facility. Other toll facilities that same day had no issue charging my E-ZPass with when I had temporary tags. These toll owners could care less about hearing issues experienced by those affected by their greed. If that's not the case your desires should trickle down to your staff.

This company is basically forcing me to pay a bill from tolls of a stolen vehicle. I’ve given them all the proof that the vehicle was not registered under me and literally everything I had on the vehicle to get them to waive these fees. This has been going on for 2 years now. They don’t care. I’ve been in contact with the police to get some help locating said vehicle. The company still does not care. I was the last person registered to the car, so I am forced to pay this outrageous fee. And on top of that, they placed a hold on MY vehicle that hasn’t even been down that way. How does that even work!? I am being punished for something that I am not doing. All they want is money. I understand, they have a job to do, but this is so unrealistic and they do not care. No one wants to help either when I call.. I wish I could give 0 stars.

Is there a way we can pay the tolls before receiving our first bill? We went through it with both a Florida license plate and a Virginia license plate, on two different vehicles. But after reading the other reviews. It almost seems like this company loves to screw with others money. So what’s the solution? Because if we have to we will gladly get a lawyer to fight our case. Thanks.

Clearly don't know how tf to set up online pay for tolls on their website. Got a letter saying my invoice was 66, called to pay and the lady said it was 90. I had gotten the letter that day. Didn't feel comfortable giving someone my card number over the phone either, but didn't have a choice. It's nothing but a money grab.
Deep Creek Park is a well-equipped city park featuring several ball fields, a dog run, a playground with separate areas for children aged 2-5 and 5-12 years, swings for both regular and infant use, walking trails and picnic/grilling areas. Additionally, the park boasts of a spacious soccer field complete with goals. Though some visitors were put off by the proximity of electric lines to the park's facilities, it remains an excellent spot for outdoor recreation.
Very nice park, great area for the kids, baseball field, trail to walk or run, covered area for get togethers, and I enjoy taking my dog to the dog park here. It's spacious, clean and sometimes in the summer it has a XL water bowl and running water. (I usually bring water just in case)

Nice park with a lot of recreation options. The paved path around the park is right at 1 mile, making it a good place to walk or run. The play park is fenced in and has a lot of fun looking structures and musical toys good for younger kids. The dog park is large, offering a lot of space to play with your dog off-leash safely. There's field areas, baseball diamonds, and I think basketball hoops. There's also another playground that seems better for older kids. The bathrooms are nice for a public park and has drinking fountains.

Nice park to visit in Chesapeake, VA, especially if you want a change in scenery. Since it's under a bridge, it doesn't look like your stereotypical park in the woods. There's a dog park, playground, Snack Shack, pier, shelters, restrooms, and plenty of room. Every politician in the city of Chesapeake should be put in federal prison for allowing this kind of abuse of citizens. The people who operate this bridge should be investigated by the FBI. AVOID - LIKE YOU WOULD AVOID A PLAGUE.
This 'aspect' of Highway 17 is described as a toll bridge, but actually isn't. If Trading Standards laws applied in this part of the world, the use of the word 'toll' would be forbidden. There is actually no convenient way to pay the toll charge. I made the mistake of crossing this bridge in a rental car - quite happy to pay the toll which was posted, but there's no means to do this. No website to take the payment, amazingly. So I called the call center, repeatedly, for days and weeks afterwards expecting that the charge would appear against the license plate. It didn't - instead a charge with admin fees appeared on my credit card just a few hours after the last call center dialogue showing no record of the license plate. The toll operation has clearly lost money with my repeated calls. The use of "Veterans" in the context of this 'operation' is rather distasteful.

The only free routes around this for my daily commute to work are 15-16 minutes more each way. I think making every direct route over the water is criminal and this road should not be a toll road.
The free route ends up taking you through a small town which is a huge speed trap, the limit changing frequently for no reason and all the stoplights means you're burning a bunch more fuel.
If you're able to take the extra time to go around this toll, please do, and I hope we can cost these crooks some money by doing so, until they make the other route a toll too.
Kaitlyn Taylor — Google review
This bridge has invisible tolls. If it's marked for tolls, it isn't clear that you cannot use actual money to pay the toll. Nor is there any indication where you might get off before being hit with an "invisible toll." (N.B. There are no toll booths. An invisible toll is where a photo is taken of your car as it crosses this bridge. Then, perhaps a month or 6-weeks later you get a bill in the mail.) This is probably a minor inconvenience to residents of Norfolk, but for visitors just passing through on a computer guided route, it is a rude awakening. This practice is seemingly very similar to "speed traps" popular in the past where an officer demands cash before letting you go on your way. Speed trapping travelers was a feature of the rural South in my youth. I was hoping it would die out. I have no idea how many other of these pop-up tolls Norfolk has, but if you're looking for a pleasant coastal path down the coast, it's best to avoid Norfolk altogether.

This was a wonderful little park. There's a short but nice trail through the woods. The Waterways, especially the locks, are beautiful. We were even fortunate enough to see a tugboat posing a barge under the bridge. There's a picnic area and playground on the other side. Folks can set up and fish; I don't know if it's catch and release, but the 'fisherman' were certainly invested in the sport. It's certainly a nice quaint park with a little bit for everyone. I didn't visit the museum... it was closed.

We visited early morning and hiked the trails. We saw turtles, snakes and squirrels on the trail along with costal birds. My favorite was watching the lift bridge raise and all the informational markers on the paths. The museum was closed. We will visit during the week to learn more about the great Bridge history.

Love this park! There are several types of peaceful trails to choose from that take you along the marsh, into the woods, or along the water. There is also a paved trail in front of the museum. It's quiet, clean, and family-friendly with plenty of spots to sit and relax and take in nature. The museum is informative and interesting for us history buffs.

This is a great park. Nice trails, plenty of parking, lots of spot to fish, watching the boats go past, if you walk further back on the trails you can go under the by-pass bridge which is really cool, trail is well maintained and clean, there are two portable toilets for bathroom use, stand for dog poop bags, and mostly shaded. Great park and will be back. Trail is probably like 1.5 miles roughly. No hills and easy to walk.

For size, museum packs of goods punch. It does a great job telling the story of the area.

We arrived in time to watch the drawbridge go up to let a boat through. The museum was full of interesting information, including a double screen video of the battle. The gift shop offers a variety of unique items. Before leaving we walked through the grounds. A great overall experience.
Cute little artisan boutique complete with decor for your mothers home. Had a section full of unique signs that were creative & humorous at the same time. We purchased a few home made items. Would recommend visiting if you’re out shopping around without a purpose. Hand made home decor.

This is a jewel of a store tucked away in an old vintage house in the heart of Great bridge. This place is stocked full of the coolest handmade and vintage items around. The inventory is always changing and the vibe is cool and welcoming. Get out of that big box store and check it out.

This is totally awesome "shabby chic" and lots of neat stuff crammed into every corner. Not necessarily antique but a lot of the newer stuff was handmade. Owner must have a great sense of humor too..loved the signs & needlepoint sayings.

Nice shop filled with an assortment of items ranging from jewelry to furniture. Their prices are more than reasonable. They have some nice vintage items worth a look and paintings/prints to support any decor. The lady behind the counter was pleasant and helpful (and had a nice smile). My wife ended up making some purchases for her hobby. All in all it was well worth the stop.

It's a bit eclectic, but the prices are reasonable. I do like most of the items they sell.
This place is awesome! There's soooo much stuff between two whole buildings it's hard to see it all 😂. There's earrings, jewelry, antiques, Elvis VHS tapes, statues, taxidermy, crystals, rocks, pins, dolls, and probably so much more that I didn’t even see!! For sure check them out if you live in Hampton Roads! Also it's very dangerous for your wallet if you're a unique earrings lover like me! 💜

This place is a wonderland! There is something for everyone in here. Seeing the local artists booths was an added treat! Definitely worth the trip.

One of the best places to go. So many cool things from antiques to specimens to gemstones/crystals to toys to records. But limited to just that. I joked for years that they have everything but the kitchen sink, but that's out back. No joke. Check them out, you won't be disappointed.
It's a must see place in Hampton Roads, Virginia. And they are expanding to be even more awesome. Love it here!!

Love literally everything about this place. Perfect place for folk that are weird and love, vintage things, gay stuff and Taxidermy.
This place is a gem! Every time I go in there I want to buy all the things. Pricing is fair, costumer service is great. I’ve brought home a couple pieces, and I get compliments all the time on them. It’s a great place to get fun decor and awesome accent pieces!

This store is great, lots of choices, wonderful place for the perfect touch of and ends for any home, apartment, or even dorm room!
Great place for rainy day shopping trips or winding down vacation shopping too. From sports memorabilia to jewelry there was so much I wanted to buy on my visit but not enough room in our car to take back.
Wonderful bedroom and dining sets!
The staff, a young polite woman, was courtesy and knowledgeable of all the items we asked about. She was friendly and help us make the perfect selections.

Sold a Kincaid dining set to them at a fair price that included them coming to pick up the set. Two gentlemen who handled the very heavy pieces were respectful and on time. They were careful to avoid damage to walls, doors, etc. It was an overall good experience.

This place is great! I went in to look at a desk (which I got a good deal on) and walked away with some great information about chalk paint and alligator finish. The staff is very knowledgeable about the products in the store. And if you're not careful you will walk away with a little history about the products too!
I will be back, real soon! Thank you so much!

Perfectly charming. My wife and I visited The Yard Sale Store and More a few weekends ago while we were out yard sale shopping. We were able to find a camera back drop and lighting set that was priced really well. The two owners were so friendly. We talked for 20-30 minutes and had a really good time. I was really surprised to hear the owners' back story for how the store came to be. Go visit the store to find out! Seriously, this store was pretty sick and had a really wide variety of merchandise for the collector or weekend shopper.

What a wonderful find when we stumbled across The Yard Sale Store. The sales associates are so friendly and helpful. You felt as if you were the only customer there as they were so accommodating to help you and give advice. The Dixie Bell Paints are so reasonable and user friendly. I was amazed at the gorgeous furniture with such reasonable prices. This definitely is a five star experience with outstanding service making it a 5 plus star rating. Thank you so much Reina. You are wonderful and so patient.

Just went here today for the first time with my mom and 3 y/o son. They have an awesome selection of different items, clean and smells good inside. On the way out, my son noticed a little beanie baby outside in a birdcage and was so concerned he asked the man at the counter why he was in “jail”. The man saw his concern and so sweetly told him he could have the pup because he rescued it. It’s the little things! We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend.

I’ve been to the store many times, and also have brought/sold to them. They are good people with positive energy that makes u actually want to comeback. I enjoy the store, the family owners, and the answers to my questions are always to the best of there knowledge. I don’t feel like they are overpriced, and the owner is always willing to negotiate. Good people, with a great store.
