Jerome State Historic Park is a beautiful park featuring an old mansion that now houses a mining museum. The park boasts several outdoor displays and a picnic area for visitors to enjoy. It provides an in-depth history of Jerome and the mining industry in the area, with informative videos and two floors of exhibits. However, children may find it less engaging than adults due to its historical focus. The drive to the park can be winding but offers spectacular views of the surrounding landscape.
What a wonderful place! If you like learning about small town history this is a must. There is a fee to enter of $7 per adult (military discount is excepted).
Children would get bored.
Just getting here is one heck of a windy drive.

I enjoyed my visit to Jerome St. Hist. Park. The Douglas Mansion and the extensive museum were great. I also liked the Geology expert that was on site. He was able to provide a lot of insight on the mining exhibits.

Jerome unfortunately has turned into a tourist trap, where once it was a quaint small town to enjoy the many amenities now everything is way over priced but if you dont mind paying $18 for a burger or just bring a picnic theres a lot to see here and enjoy, walk around and explore.

The history of Jerome is stored at Jerome State Historic Park. The ticket is around $7 to get in. The museum has a lot of pictures, rocks, and historic machines and tools. The view from the parking lot is beautiful. It’s perfect for a day visit. I have been here in summer, and it was hot. I heard it would be beautiful in the winter time so I will definitely try to be here during the winter time.

We went to the Douglas Mansion before we left Jerome altogether and I'm so glad we made this visit. We've been coming to Jerome for years and never visited this park area. So thankful we did. There's a video you watch about Jerome and it's history, most things you don't learn even from the locals. The mansion is in great shape and a lot of originals remain. It's definitely worth the few bucks per person to go in!!! Enjoy!!!

I love looking at historical homes with original architecture and furnishings. This mansion has original blueprints on display and you can wander through many of the original rooms. I loved the windows, the views, the original icebox, kitchen, fireplaces, and servants quarters. There have been a few changes but overall intact. We made a quick stop in Jerome and we definitely want to go back for more sightseeing. The guys working in the museum were very friendly.

Jerome is a ghost town, don’t worry about online pictures come and see yourself and explore the energy, especially if you have never seen a miners town. It’s really spooky if you visit in a rainy day in winter in clouds! Maybe museum is not very interesting but experience is. Remember it’s not the destination but the journey.

Caduceus Cellars and Merkin Vineyards Tasting Room
The Caduceus Cellars and Merkin Vineyards Tasting Room is a charming space that showcases locally sourced wine, espresso drinks, and boasts a gift shop. The establishment has an inviting atmosphere that is complemented by knowledgeable staff who are well-versed in the selection of wines available for tasting. In addition to their impressive wine offerings, visitors can also purchase unique market items like chocolate and snacks from the gift shop.
Guests on my wine tours always love their visit to Caduceus while in Jerome. The wine is amazing and staff is well versed in what’s going on with each selection. What’s more, is there’s plenty of unique market items from chocolate to snacks to purchase. The atmosphere is always high vibe as well. Go there!

I’m a huge Tool fan so ultimately this brought me here. I do enjoy wine and I was excited about trying Maynard’s creations.
I did a tasting with a cheese board and all the wines I tried I enjoyed. I will say our server was very dry. I could not tell if she was being rude or just sarcastic. She was very knowledgeable about the wines and the processes though.
Overall very cool and glad I stopped by.
They have cool shirts and other merchandise to purchase too.

Really fun experience! Nice little tasting room, awesome staff. Delicious wine and Maynard's fingers were all up in our grapes. What else could you ask for?

We had kids in tow when checking out Jerome, so my husband and I had to get creative when stopping in since this spot was his one request, and under 21 are not permitted. I walked in while my husband waited outside with our kids and Allen (Maybe Alan - sorry, spelling) was incredibly helpful and full of great information! I ordered the two flights and Allen walked me through everything… all of it was delicious. I narrowed down what I thought my husbands preferences would be (for once, I was right), my husband and I switched shifts so he could try everything and we walked away with 4 bottles of wine we really enjoyed. The wines tend to lean towards Italian varietals, and the range in options are great. Thank you to Allen for the quick and dirty wine tasting that answered all of our questions and was still informational and fun!

Last month was my second visit, the same lady that helped me back in February helped me again. She’s very kind, not pushy, and super helpful. Wish I got her name, she’s over 40 like me.
I got 4 cans of Puscicer Queen B wine, well 3 wine cans and 1 can of mead. Never had mead in my life up until this time.
Because I flew there from TX, I had to drink the Queen B cans while I was there.
The wines are amazing, smooth and strong.
I was very happy and will definitely get more next time I’m there.
The mead was a nice surprise, is sweet (not big fan of sweet wine/ drinks), but not too sweet.
I love honey, and I had that one at the airport with some Latin quinoa salad. It was delicious.
The purple can was my favorite, I drank that one when I went on a 9 mile hike in Sedona. It was perfect and added more magic to a perfect day in the canyon.
I do love the 4 different kinds, but one has to have a favorite 💜

The place was fantastic to visit, and the staff "Kim" was very knowledgeable about the wines she was presenting that made for a more in-depth look and experience explaining all that goes into the makings of the diffrent wines before they get to the table. The food, atmosphere, staff, and drinks were all five stars at this location. The bread and butter spread with the pasta dishes, and fresh gnocchi put together by an in-house chief were the best I've ever eaten. The drinks were fabulous as i hade a few rosè drinks a queen bee mead and a desert port that were all delicious. I highly recommend you check this place out for yourselves if you are in old town!

We did 2 flights. A white and a red. The service was great. They brought water for everyone at the table (even those not drinking). Each wine was in its own glass and great information on each wine! Very friendly staff. Seating is minimal (2 small tables w/4 chairs eaxh) but large bar area for standing!

In 2017, I travelled cross-country for work and remember looking for places to stop on the road along the way. A couple of coworkers had talked about Sedona, and while browsing the area I found out that Maynard James Keenan had vineyards, and a couple of tasting rooms in the area. This was the first one that I stopped at, and really my first experience with a wine tasting. I ordered a tasting, and some meat and cheese to go with it and settled in to enjoy it. My kids and wife at the time were with me, and the staff were great about accommodating the littles. I think they cut up some fruit for them to enjoy, which was appreciated given the heat of the day. By the time we finished, we walked out with two bottles for the road, and some stickers and patches. I came back here in 2022, and while the place had been rearranged a little, the vibe was still the same. Pleasant, welcoming, and most importantly cool in the Arizona heat.

This is our table at Caduceus Cellars after ordering 8 different wines to taste plus a sampler plate of foods appropriate for wine sampling.
This is a destination place for excellent wines, cheeses, olives and crackers.
If you want a good experience and great wines, come to Jerome, AZ and taste these great wines grown and mixed locally. Serious competition to California wines you may be willing to explore alternatives to.
Our guests were from California and Florida. They were absolutely pleased and delighted. I'm sure your guests/friends will be as well.

One of the best wooden head frames you'll ever see. There are many wooden head frames left anywhere. This frame sits over a 1900 ft deep shaft. You can look straight down the shaft. This is a three compartment shaft. Definitely a cool thing to see if you've never seen anything related to underground mining.

A small (about 1 acre) Park adjacent to the entrance of Jerome State Historic Park. The largest wooden Headframe standing in Arizona. Touring the park takes 10-15 minutes and has a lot of stuff packed in including the 1200 shaft with a glass viewport you can stand on, old mining equipment, and interpretive signs. Well worth a stop. Especially if you're getting to the State Park a little early and need to kill a few minutes while waiting for the park to open.

We learned so much. This was worth the stop if you drive through Jerome. We found this by accident and were very glad we did. It was incredible to learn about. So much is preserved.
It's was short visit but totally worth it.
The main part of the park was closed for paving so we were just able to see the Audrey Shaft. There was more to see but just the part we saw was pretty cool.

Informative little park. Quite humbling to know how large the hole is and how deep into the earth the miners went down to work. To stand above the hole that goes that deep was pretty amazing. No fee but there is a recommended donation for the park.
Gold King Mine & Ghost Town is a fascinating abandoned town in Jerome that offers visitors a glimpse into the past. The site features dilapidated buildings, an old mine, and an extensive collection of vintage automobiles and trucks. It's full of history, allowing visitors to experience what life was like in the area years ago. For just $22 for two people, it’s incredibly affordable compared to other attractions in the area. The working mill and car graveyard are both curious sights worth exploring.
Everything is more than amazing. Jerome is full of histroy especially this place. You can understand and see what they lived in the past . We paid about 22 dollars for 2 peoples . It's so cheap compare with everything . I highly recommend anyone who come to Jerome. Please visit this place. It's super cool.

My kids had an absolute incredible time. The atmosphere is so laid back and easy-going. My 3 kids (7,9,11) did gem panning and found arrowheads and sharks teeth among other various pretty gemstones and of course every kid's favorite fool's gold (pyrite). The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful/kind, Milo the greeter cat is purrrrfectly suited for the job too!Truly a welcome little break from our daily routine! Make sure to inquire about the outhouse, this was a great and fitting legend with spooky possibilities! My curious 7 year old wanted to test the legend and was so shocked at what he discovered, this was a moment I will look back at with great joy in the future.

Me and my sister spend the weekend in Jerome. We knew ahead of time that we wanted to go to the Gold King Mine & Ghost Town. We were not disappointed. We panned for gold, gems and broke apart our own geode. We were able to feed donkeys, turkeys, bunnies, all kinds of animals. We had a lot of fun and enjoyed the visit so much. The gift shop was full of so many cool things that we took nearly an hour just to look thru everything. I would recommended this stop on the Jerome tour as a MUST DO. Had been curious about this place for a while, so decided to make the trek up to Jerome and check it out. It's carpenter bee heaven! Many old shacks with dusty displays inside, not all from the local area. Large junkyard with some interesting, rusty vehicles and heavy equipment. Working sawmill, requisite mine shaft, and a few farm animals. Cool place to take photos.

My son is 7 and he did not want to come here. However, after panning for gems, seeing all the old cars, trucks and machinery, feeding the goats and chickens, he declared he was very glad we had come. Yes, it is a tourist trap as the entire town of Jerome. It's nice if you don't expect much. $13/person to enter (July'23) but extra $18 for gold panning or $12 for gem panning. An overpriced souvenir shop and blacksmith items.

They used to mine here, collections of old mining equipment from large to small. If you like being around equipment and farm animals, this place is for you! The drive up the mountain takes you through the town of Jerome.. cute but we didn’t stop there. We did the $38 special and got to sift for gems, learned how to pan for gold, cracked a geode open and fed the animals. The family that runs this is super friendly and helpful.

It's not a real western ghost town in the traditional sense. But the spirit, its owner, and founder is everywhere around you. He collected pieces and staged them in ways that give you a deep look into our not to distant past. To see the ingenious use of wood, steel, gears, and combustion is a really wonderful testimonial to our capacity to create. It's worth the $12 . And the turkeys are really cool.

I highly recommend the full package you get so much for the price it's such a cool attraction there's animals to feed gold and jems to pan and you can crush geodes and on top of that there's so many old vehicles and technology we spent a big chunk of our day here for the average person it'll be about 2 hours but if your like us you can spend way more time looking at everything shirl helped us with our planning and she was so kind and I learned so much from her thank you guys so much

We brought our 3 kids to check out the mine and ghost town and overall, I'd say it was a nice activity to add to our weekend trip. I'd personally love to see a handout available that has a little history lesson and facts etc you can read to kids as you go through. All the old cars were cool and my husband definitely enjoyed checking them out! We didn't do any add ons, so it only took us about 1.5 to walk through checking everything out.

Thursday, our friends suggested a quick trip to Jerome, one of our favorite nearby "haunts", which is a pun, if you know Jerome. 😉 Weather was clear as usual, but chilly. Lucked onto a good pay parking spot mid town, & the four of us goldie oldies headed downhill. Happened upon the Artist Co-op & were thrilled to discover many wonderful things from wall art to sculpture, metal, glass, fabric... whatever! We were looking for a piece to grace a particular wall for our SW style decor & it turns out the piece we found was a photographic print of the artist who was present at the time! Happy coincidence to be able to engage with the artist of the very item we purchased. AND, in purchasing this relatively inexpensive beautiful item, we eliminated the possibility of spending a far greater sum in the subsequent galleries we came across as we perused about town! Very clever strategy by the husband. 🤣
***This gallery is a Must-See-and-Buy-Something type of place, IMHO.

I love that they don't embellish the history of this little jail. They clearly state that the jail was moved to its final resting place to clear the road it had landed on when it quit moving on its own. It appears that there have been some efforts to preserve the jail, but if they do not take further measures there may be nothing left to see but a pile of rubble. So if this is something you would like to see, get up here while you can.

My kids thought a jail sliding through town was pretty cool so we were glad to get a little wet to take a peak inside and grab a few photos. I have to mention the breathtaking views of open space looking out towards Sedona and snow capped Frisco Peaks beyond. I love this town and intend to return again.

Interesting tidbit of local history. I've been going to Jerome for nearly 20 years. When I first saw this place, it wasn't moored in place. Over the years I noticed how much damage its slow slide down the hill was doing to it, so I am glad that the Jerome Historical Society took it over in 2017 and locked 'er in place. While the building's getaway has been stopped, the legacy of the slide can be seen in the odd position the building ended up in.

The Raku Gallery in Arizona showcases an array of artwork from Southwestern artists, including paintings, blown glass, jewelry, ceramics and sculptures. The inventory is diverse and unique, leaving a lasting impression on visitors. Despite being located in a small town called Jerome, the gallery's reputation for high-quality products and excellent customer service extends beyond borders as far as Canada. Although an unfortunate incident occurred during shipping resulting in damage to a purchased item, the staff went above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction.
My mother stopped in while visiting the area. She was overjoyed the glass blower was able to squeeze in a demonstration even though she was short on time. The resulting cup is absolutely gorgeous and never makes it into the cupboard because everyone wants to use it!!!

Our favorite shop in the Sedona vicinity. Well worth the drive to Jerome. This shop sells the works of artisans ranging from home decor to jewelry. We never walk out empty-handed and have loved all we bought there.

Some beautiful artwork- but for the shopkeeper we would have made a significant purchase. When my husband asked after a lovely piece, she interrupted him in order to remind him that his mask MUST be over his nose! We simply left, likely never to return😒

Long before Tracy opened the Raku Gallery he had a modest little pottery shop not far from Aurum Jewelry. His Downhill Trading Co. was the kind of place where you'd walk in and find Tracy sitting at his potter's wheel spinning a new creation. Jerome got most of its visitors back then on Holidays and good weather weekends.
Fast forward: when Tracy moved further uptown and renovated an old building there, I was immediately blown away. It was sometime in the early 80's I want to say that I walked into his new place and gazed immediately out of a floor-to-ceiling glass window wall. Big, big panes of safety glass that framed the old "One-In-A-Million" Jerome view of the Verde Valley, Sedona's red rock cliffs further out, and finally the San Francisco Peaks 30-40 miles distant, rising above Flagstaff on top of the Colorado Plateau. Holy you-know, Tracy had created the perfect space to both enjoy wonderful art pieces and display while gazing now and then at eternity through that window wall.
Today it is still that same amazing place, with even more years of experience and new artists' work. This is a must visit place in northern Arizona. When in Jerome, walk on over and expect to be dazzled in multiple ways once you walk through his showroom's door.

Found this gem a few years ago while visiting Jerome. I bought a unique dragonfly necklace and earrings that receives numerous compliments every time I wear it. This gallery is a must see.

The glass blowing is my favorite place to stop by when visiting Jerome! Must stop by each time to see the awesome demonstration and purchase a unique piece.
Great place to enjoy yourself and shop with very friendly and helpful staff. Most of all they don't allow "distance politics".

Our guide had recommended the movie about Jerome at this gift shop. The movie was about 30 years old, hard to see and not worth the price of admission. Also the women downstairs who took our money was not very friendly - it was like we were bothering her. The gift shop looked cute but after spending so much on the movie we didn't feel like spending more.

cool little theatre turned gift shop but quite pricey! you don't need to be a paying customer in order to go to the stairs and check out the old theatre itself ... with a bunch of surprises! definitely check out the whole upstairs area because they have a wicked display of antique cameras and movie theatre paraphernalia

Horrible man yelled at my family to "Get out!!" when we walked in during business hours through the front door propped open by a chair. Then he proceeded to borate us when we said we were sorry & thought the shop was open.

Bob was really great about sharing the history of the town. Our kids had fun exploring the theater with their EMF readers. His prices for rocks are much better than the rock store on main street!

Had a blast wandering thru this haunted old theater and amazingly quirky gift shop! So much fun. Jerome never disappoints!

When looking at the other reviews, it seems that this place may be like Luke going into the cave. What's in the Liberty Theater and gift shop? "Only what you take with you. "
I have my share of bad experiences but I've been here quite a few times over the last 30 years and have never encountered anything but kindness. I like to be left alone for the most part but usually get the "let me know if you need anything". I was there Monday 6/12/23 and the owner was outside having a chat. He acknowledged us and told us to let him know if we had any questions. Perfect!
We always enjoy our time there. One of our good friends has a collection of projectors and has the one in the front of the store.
This place is always a must visit. History!!!

This place was awesome and full of history! However, the Halloween animatronics were so annoying. They were in the way, loud, and kinda ruined the ambience. And this is coming from someone that loves Halloween and horror.

Jerome is cool little town on the hill, this old theatre has been turned into a gift shop down stairs and the theatre up stairs with a movie about the history of Jerome. Recommend this place to check out when visiting Jerome.

My son, mother and I had an amazing experience visiting Jerome and this theatre is so one of a kind. The theatre was so beautiful & really like a step back in to a different time in American history. Chris was so helpful and knowledgeable about the history of Jerome. We spent so much time in the theatre and enjoyed all the eclectic vintage details. I really hope to visit again!

A amazing glass blower and potter! Tracy was amazing he gave us a demonstration of how he works and was super nice! We stumbled down the hill and found him. He has been there since the 1970’s. If your in Jerome definitely check him out

What a cool place to stumble upon. The owner Tracey has a wealth of knowledge about all things glass blowing. Very cool guy to talk to about his work. We accidentally found this place just walking around Jerome and I'm so glad we did because honestly it was the coolest place that we stopped that day.

What an awesome experience. Tracy provided us with a history lesson about the rise, fall and rise of Jerome. Super interesting character!! I bought one of his beautiful hand blown Christmas ornaments to remind me of an unforgettable trip.

Amazing glassblowing demo! He did such a great job at entertaining, educating, and making a functional piece all in 30 minutes or less.

Had the chance to see local Jerome artist, Tracy Weisel, practice his craft of glass blowing. Sitting inside his studio looking out the window to the north is a phenomenal view, and I can only imagine it provides daily inspiration. Watching him work and explain each step of the process while sprinkling in local history, stories, and jokes was both entertaining and a great learning experience. His glass and pottery work is very nice. Be sure to check it out if you find yourself in Jerome. Hopefully you'll get lucky and get to watch a glass blowing demonstration as well.

We had a fantastic time watching the glass blowing and went home with some super unique pieces!
Beautiful old church. Have been inside in the past, but the last few times, it was locked. Would love to attend mass here, but it is no longer a regular parish.
John Behan — Google review
Lovely little church. It's a very good example of what Catholicism looked like in the late 1800s. I do believe there used to be stained glass windows. Either way the view from the plain glass is gorgeous looking over the valley and town. It's a quiet little spot to pray and spend a minute or two with Jesus. (I don't believe Masses are said weekly, although I could be wrong!)

+JMJ...Sunday, 24 July 2022. A friend and I were former custodians from 2013 to 2014. During that time, my friend installed a Memorial Brick garden, with donated bricks inscribed with the name of deceased loved ones and also in memory of those still alive. He also installed a bench in the Memorial Brick Garden. Some family members of those who grew up in Jerome and were involved in parish life, donated bricks in memory of their loved ones. It is nothing short of miracle that the Church, at its current location since August 1900, is still functional. Though no longer a parish Church, the pastor from Immaculate Conception in Cottonwood ensures that Holy Mass is offered every 3rd Saturday at 8:30 a.m. Ordinarily, 10 to 12 people participate. The current tenants allow for visiting during daylight hours. The Church is very beautiful with many original artifacts. Also, it is a tranquil place for silent, prayerful meditations. Anyone visiting Jerome should feel free to stop in when they see the Open sign. Blessings! 🙏

An old peaceful church which is dear to my heart. A vital piece of Jerome's history. Mass on the third Saturday of the month at 8:30. See you there.
The Original Jerome Winery is a charming and rustic-chic wine cellar that boasts scenic views and offers delectable light bites and tastings. While some visitors may have initially anticipated a quick retail experience, they were pleasantly surprised by the informative and entertaining spiel delivered by Tony. This gifted host provided an exceptional experience, highlighting the exquisite taste, aroma, and quality of each individual wine selection.
We had the BEST time here. Tony was phenomenal, and so knowledgeable about the wines. He had jokes to keep us smiling, and the wine selection was hands down the best wine spot around the area. The most flavorful wine. Signed up for the wine club we loved it so much! ❤️

Today was an amazing experience with the spectacular Tony! His service along with his witty banter was an unforgettable time. We enjoyed all the different sorts of wine which individually had immaculate taste, smell, and quality. #agedlikefinewine. Highly recommend anyone to come here and learn the five S’s if your new to your wine experience.

Lots of space to sit in this super cute vintage shop and enjoy the wine with multiple seating options from 2-3 seats up to 10 seats at 1 table. Unfortunately, the wine tasting expwrience wasn't as good as the other winery we went to in town. You get only one glass (that is not rinsed between wines) and nothing else, not even water, to help cleanse between wines.
The wines are VERY good. I don't think we tried a single one we didn't like.
The tasting wines are brought out one at a time to taste and finish before another is brought out - which can be nice for getting the "story" behind each wine, however when it gets busy your at the mercy of the single person serving the whole room.
Overall, it's a cool atmosphere with lots of space, fun stuff to look at and good wine, but the "process" is not so great!

We went in expecting more of an in and out retail shop experience and were kind of bummed when we realized we were sat for a whole spiel…until we met Tony. This was an amazing experience and I’m glad we stayed and were treated to the experience and atmosphere that Tony brings. The wines were all great and we had an amazing time. Y’all, Tony has dad jokes for days…and they’re free!

A unique experience wine tasting in a historic mining town. This place has some great wines especially the ports. The decor in the place is pretty awesome as well. Really cool place and had some of the best AZ wines. Wound up enjoying some full glasses after going through the wine tasting list. The view from the place is also pretty amazing. Well worth the stop and making this place part of a Jerome wine tasting experience!!

This is one of my favorite businesses of all time. Not a penny spent here is ever questioned. A trip here consists of delicious wine, fun and interesting art, as well as peaceful views. Support your local wineries and drink good ol' AZ wines at Cellar 433. You won't regret it. Also, if you love their selection as much as I do, you can sign up for their membership and have it shipped straight to your door twice a year while enjoying a handful of other percs each time you visit. Cellar 433, I love you!

We stopped by the Arizona Copper art Museum gift store after visiting Jerome. We had come from the copper art museum earlier that day and the fabulous staff there told us to make sure we checked it out on our way in or out of Jerome. There was some amazing copper art as well as cups and other trinkets to look at. Copper is expensive so the prices reflected that expense, but beautiful to look at.

Do stop here! Charming store filled will copper art pieces...some functional most art. The jewelry is beautiful. My friend and I bought cool copper bracelets with desert stones. It's a magnet bracelet purchased for its good artisan looks. Take time for conversation with the owner and hear the history of the store and go visit the Copper Museum. Reasonably priced and so much history! The collections are marvelous...time well spent!!! (Neither stop would interest children)

Some unique copper items made by local artisans. A tad pricey on some items but I found a few items I couldn't live without. Customer service was top-notch, too. The salesman needed to replace a battery on a watch purchased by a member in my group. He agreed to bring the watch back to the actual museum the next morning which was just down the street from our hotel... making pick-up much more convenient for us.

This place was so fun and unique. I felt like Indian Jones with all the beautiful antiques and cups around. The salesman was very friendly and helpful and answered a lot of questions we had. Some really beautiful pieces in there. Could you find some similar items for cheaper on ebay? Probably, but we love supporting local and it really looks like they curate higher quality items. Definitely worth it to pull off the road and take a gander.

We visited Jerome this past weekend from Florida. It was Jerome Jamboree weekend, a great vintage VW event. After searching for parking, we parked in a huge public parking lot and were picked up by a free shuttle service. Scott was our personal tour guide! He was so friendly, very knowledgeable about the city and gave us the best recommendations for local dining and shopping. We had an amazing experience in this treasure of a historic town. We can’t wait to come back.

We visited the town of Jerome, & found it historically interesting & odd. Shops were unique.
We planned on eating there even though the place we wanted to go (Asylum) was closed. 😒
Went back to the car to research only to find out we got a $25 ticket on our windshield. We had parked by the jail .We didn't see the sign that stated you needed to pay $4, but even after seeing it aways from us, it didn't indicate how or where to pay. So, to pay it we went up a block to the police station, only to see parking along there had numerous signs and they actually had two pay kiosks there with instructions. That would have been really handy down by the parking by the jail because there is no kiosk anywhere down there. Tried to go to the police station there to speak to someone about it and pay for it if we had to and couldn't find anybody around anywhere. I guess on the upside if there is one if we paid it within 24 hours it was only $12.50. interestingly We met another gentleman at the police station who ran into the same experience not happy man! We stuck our money in the envelope put it in the Dropbox and drove away. Less than a positive experience. 🤬

Right away, I loved to old sign out front. Apparently this place used to be a brothel. It's now a cute antique and oddities shop. It's not very big, but they have interesting things. The woman who was working at the time was very friendly and welcoming.
If I was a Sedona local, I'm not sure I would make the trip just for this shop alone... but it's not any single thing in Jerome that makes it special, but all the things put together that makes a nice day trip! And when in Jerome I would certainly make this a must see shop! It's small but cool and full of character.
My toddler was starting to act up around the time we hit this place in Jerome, so I couldn't make my stop a long one, but if I had more time I'd love to have spoken more with the woman who ran the shop to learn more about the history of the place. I'm sure I just scratched the surface!

Super friendly owner- with tons of playful and handmade items. Reminded me of my trip to New Orleans. You can spend a lot of time in this little store because there is so much to look at. It's great that they are keeping the memories of the old bordello in Jerome alive with a fun playful attitude.
I ALWAYS have to take my friends to see this shop in Jerome.

Can you believe it? Since the 1970's, people in Phoenix would actually drive 120 miles to eat at the House of Joy when they were able to get a reservation. I used to think it was just a story until I ate there the first time on my birthday and saw the clientele. Definitely city folk, certainly onto something special, absolutely right. The food was dynamic and the small, quaint house was the perfect atmosphere for dining in a town this old and unique.
Unless things have changed much, the House of Joy has very limited hours and very limited seating. Back in the early 1970's when I sampled their gourmet cuisine for the first time, I think the restaurant seated 24 people, maybe even less. The reservation list was sometimes full for weeks since at one time back then they were only open on the weekends.
The House of Joy is always a pleasure.

Everytime I go to Jerome I have to stop at the House of Joy! Yes it use to be a house of ill repute, but OMG they have just awesome things for sale. And sorry everyone not everything is from a bordello, there are somethings are. They are just not raunchy, they are more clean and funny!

Lunch for 5 with 2 salads and a split appetizer! The salads were quite large and the falafel was perfect. The venue and quite small (5-6 tables) with limited seating, but definitely worth it if you have the time. The Bloody Mary was tasty with a nice assortment of veggies. The service was great and a mostly full bar was available. We would definitely return to explore more menu options. Cheers 🍻

Great place for lunch. Very small. Arrive early. Only 4 tables and a small counter which will sit 3. Fun menu with good choices. I had the Nora burger, which was really good. I ordered the side salad instead of fries. Good size salad too. Friendly service and reasonable prices. Serves beer and wine. Local paintings are displayed on the walls. Very enjoyable lunch. Stopped in Jerome for dinner after a long day of off-roading. First place we went to had an hour long wait, so we were pleasantly surprised to find this place which had no wait. Angie was our server, she was very friendly and helpful. Others have said it takes quite a while to go through the menu options and they were right! So much to choose from. I decided on the Gyro and my wife and daughter each had one of the burgers. The food was super fresh and delicious. This place is very small, but worth stopping if you can get a table.

I picked this restaurant for the unique menu titles speaking to the history of the town which did not disappoint. A very small, history rich feel that was quite enjoyable and you get to see the slant of being on the mountainside when your drinks are on the table. You may also get some additional information of the history of the building and a ghost story too. We went around 2pm and we got the last table, so be prepared to wait in busy season. Food was very good, and as original as named. Our server was great but be prepared to sit and chat because food takes a while to come out. Price was a little on high side but ambiance was fantastic. Would definitely recommend!
