The Whydah Pirate Museum features artifacts recovered from the 18th-century pirate ship Whydah, which was used for slave trade. Notably, the museum is the only place where you can see an authentic treasure from a pirate ship. It took about 20-25 minutes to do the full tour. No photography allowed inside the museum.
We were looking for an adventure during February break and we found one! This was such a cool experience and we really enjoyed every minute. I would recommend this for children maybe 7 and up who can read, or you will be reading and explaining everything to them.

Mu husband and I went with my son and grandchildren to check this museum out. We all loved it. It was really well organized and the set ups were very interesting. I loved the themed settings with mannequins dressed in period costumes. My granddaughter loved the map where they had to find items around the museum. We backtracked several times to find them all. I would go again any time.

I really enjoyed visiting this museum. I was impressed with the displays and artifacts. I thought it was very cool watching water being used to uncover the found items and x-ray views of the chunks of rock that held the said items. Plus the only pirate treasure chest with all the loot was on display. Awesome time!

This was our first visit since the museum was in Ptown a while back. Well told story on display of the Whydah, her crew, it's discovery, salvage, and conservation. Lots of attentive kids in the museum that had a great mix of artifacts and easy to understand informational placards. Having just finished reading a book on the Whydah, I found that "seeing the story" told in artifacts was very enjoyable.

Fantastic displays of artifacts recovered from the Whydah, lots of information, a great video, interesting facts, a whole room dedicated to the recovery process and preservation of some of the artifacts, and a really cool gift shop. Well worth the ticket price if you read all the information on the displays, (SO interesting!) and they stagger groups to keep it from getting crowded. Really great group rate, too, you only need 15 people. Reserve ahead! Photos are from the lobby and entrance (after admission); no photography is allowed after the video room.

A fascinating and incredible museum!! Awesome for all ages! The guided tour is 110% worth it and was led by the very individual who does the restorative work! The story told, artifacts seen, and layout were just incredible! Everything displayed is real and pulled from the wreck. So amazingly cool

For a small town museum, this place is well worth a visit. It’s authentic and educational, not just for entertainment.
It has cool displays, a video intro and the tour ends in their archaeology lab where you get to see live conservation work.
It’s family-friendly, good for couples and seniors. The layout is easily accessible. The tickets were also fairly priced for the size of the museum and the conservation work they do. Plenty of parking and easy to find. It’s right next door to the pirates cove mini golf 😁

It was neat to see the history of the Whydah and some of the pieces that are currently being being worked on. Took about 20-25 minutes to do the full tour. No photography allowed inside the museum.

This is a GREAT MUSEUM with REAL artifacts and some treasure from an actual sunken pirates ship. There are cannons, pistols, gold and silver coins, silver dinnerware and much more. They have a lot of historical information about this ship and pirates in general. They also had a lab that you could walk through to see and learn about the cleansing process of the artifacts.

Travellers and Maties, we love a good pirate museum and this museum is a gem. There is a lot packed into this museum dedicated to the recovery of the pirate ship Wydah. There are so many things including the ships cannons, the ships stove, and even the ships treasures, like jewelry and very old coins. The history of the ship wreck is well documented and well told through visuals, physical exhibits, and audio. The concretion room is very interesting. It is parts of the ship that are encased in a concrete format under water that can’t be removed. They are in salt water tanks and kept filtered like the ocean. There are x rays of what is encased inside the large concrete rocks. The exhibit on the pirates was fascinating. We all felt sorry for the little boy who died. The pirate life was not always fun and easy and there exhibits devoted to what happened to the naughty pirates. This is a fun and interesting museum for the whole family. The gift shop has fun items as well. Take your time there is a lot to see. Check it out. We recommend.
TLDR - great family fun

It is its own hidden treasure. We really did not know what the museum was about. After touring the museum we totally enjoyed it. Bought the book and we can not wait to learn more. We will be back! Definitely recommend checking it out.

It was awesome to see and touch real buried pirate treasure!! Having a pirate on site to take the kids through would be kind of cool because there were kids running around out of control at times!! The history of it was great!! Would be cool to have scheduled dates/times when Barry Clifford would be there to meet him!!!

This place was awesome. Our 3 year old, who is way into Pirates right now had a blast and walked thru it twice. It had some really good history components and I felt like I was in a discovery channel documentary. Definitely worth a stop.

This exceeded my expectations! This was fantastic – there was so much great information. The displays were interactive, and everything in this museum was actual and real! I would highly, highly recommend, taking the walking tour with the tour guide, Jessica. She not only creates the museum, but she also is responsible for preserving some of the artifacts that they have pulled up year after year. It is really interesting. There is a ton of information and the museum is really well done. The big pile of treasure in the display case is actually real, too so there’s lots of gold and silver. I highly recommend that you go – this was an amazing experience! Five stars – 10 if I could give it!

So much fun for the whole family. There is a scavenger hunt with a list of items and pictures to circle as you discover them. There are activities for kids and lots of information to gather for adults as well as kids. Go and discover for yourself!

Here's a little true background for all you history buffs. I worked on the original salvage of this wreck, and my parents and many family friends were collage friends of Clifford, and were original investors in this project. It should be known that Barry Clifford didn't discover the Whydah acting alone as he would have others believe - in fact the site was well known for many years by locals before he showed up, nor did he pay for the salvage out of his own pocket or do it alone. There were hundreds of thousands of dollars raised from various investors via "Maritime Explorations" his salvage company, who were issued stock certificates for their financial support, but most never received a dime in return or any credit. Clifford would have the public believe he acted alone and personally discovered and salvaged this wreck, which is just false. Once the site was verified and diving began in the summer of 1986, Clifford ended up pushing out his loyal friends and supporters, ignoring their claims and taking all the glory for himself. Clifford continues to generate a living from this museum but his story of the Whydah is also in large part fabricated, exaggerated and fictionalised with the help of sham archaeologist Ken Kinkor. "Black" Sam Bellamy is largely a fictional character. Clifford, like the pirates before him, has made a living out of outright stealing. The museum may be good, but just know, this museum is built on fraud. Also know that by supporting this museum you are supporting a liar and a thief. Photo below is the original stock certificate issued to my father who was one of several original investors, divers, ex-friends, and who never received anything for his efforts or investment, except one small momento 😎

An incredible museum. The only upset was that I had to leave early to go to work because when I booked the ticket online, it had 1-hour time slots so I understood that it would only takes an hour. In an hour and a half I didn’t even get through half of the museum. Not a downside because the museum has so much to see and it’s so well done. Just wish that I would’ve known that it would take longer so that I could’ve gone a day where I had more time. But I already bought my next ticket and I’m looking forward to going back and learning more.

This is a great place for kids and adults. Starting with a short film, the museum Takes you through the history of the pirate ship found off the coast of the cape in 1984, the Whydah. What they recovered is amazing including the world’s only pirate treasure, pure silver and gold. They have the galley stove, munitions and so much more. The artifacts are amazing. Definitely worth the stop. Plus we got cool t shirts in the gift shop!
We went off-season in Feb.the only time we would venture to the Cape.

The stories, the artifacts, the "treasure maps" were all very nicely done. My 3 children enjoyed it as much as my wife, in-laws, and myself had. A touch out if the way from where we were staying while there, but worth the drive
Seagull Beach is the largest saltwater beach located in Yarmouth, Massachusetts. It extends alongside Nantucket Sound and Parkers River. This seasonal spot attracts a diverse crowd of high school and college visitors, as well as families seeking beach vacations due to its clean soft sands, calm waters, and on-duty lifeguards during summer months. The beach provides excellent opportunities for sunbathing with good wave conditions suitable for windsurfing enthusiasts.

Great beach. Somehow we always ended up back here throughout our weekend stay. The kids loved it here. From the views, to the massive amounts of shells to collect to the cleanliness of the beach this one definitely gets 5 stars. I initially took concern with paying 20$ for these beach spots but after seeing how clean these beaches are and how the cig smokers and dog owners are kept at bay, it's actually a price worth paying.

What a way to spend a relaxing summer afternoon. We visited this little beach in charming Cape Cod. There was a $20.00 fee to park, which was a little steep. But we found the bathroom to be clean, perhaps the fee dissuades large numbers of visitors.
The water was warm. I am surprised how little waves there are on the East Coast. When we visited there was a lot of seaweed. Kind of freaked my wife out. I don't know if this is normal for all of Cape Cod or just this neach.

Spacious beach with soft sand. Not a lot of rocks or seaweed. It can get really windy at times but on a calm day it's a great beach to go to. The beach attendants are very helpful and even gave us a map of Yarmouth beaches when Seagull was too windy for our kids. Parking is free after 4pm. Highly recommended - one of the best mid Cape beaches.

Warm Water, clean beach but does have sea shell scattered all over the sand, minimum seaweed in the water, $20 parking for the day, concessions stand and a pier that allows for handicap person to bring their wheelchair closer to the sand and ocean. I cant swim, but i was able to walk far into the water. The waves were a bit strong. But not enough to deter some water fun
Bass River Beach, also known as Smugglers Beach, stands out among the other beaches in Yarmouth mainly due to its fine white sand, fishing dock and breathtaking views. This beach offers two distinct experiences: a small section of calm waters facing Bass River and a larger section facing Nantucket Sound. The facilities are top-notch and conveniently located near various accommodations along MA Route 28.
Fantastic beach! Great place for a picnic near the grass or delightful walk along the shore, let the gentle waves lap yours feet while telling stories. Jetty is ideal spot for a pic or maybe sit at the end watch boats cruise as you make detailed plans 👍🏽

The Cape Cod Inflatable Park is a popular family destination located at 518 Main Street Route 28 West Yarmouth, Massachusetts. The park has massive inflatable obstacles and adrenaline pumping challenges that guarantee endless fun for all ages. It operates seasonally and offers an easy booking process through Group On.
Today was a 10 / 10. We got a great deal on Groupon. Definitely reserve a cabana as a home base. Super clean and comfortable place for the family to hang. Princess was our server and she was fantastic. Super nice and very attentive. Constantly swinging bye to see what we needed. I was amazed at the amount and size of the inflatables. Serious fun for all ages. The Challenge zone was on a whole new level. Great time had by all. I felt the staff did a great job oh yeah and great drinks , frozen favorites and beer.

So here’s my take on Caped Cod Inflatable park…great fun for the kids. We all had a blast except for unfortunately a few rude employees including the manager himself. When I informed him of the rat in his parking lot his response was, “Well we do have rats in Cape Cod you know!” No I’m sorry, let me buy you a drink, let me give you a discount, absolutely nothing at all. One amazing employee Ramon stood out, if you rent a cabana request him!!!

First off , the website has not been updated -still shows parts of the park that are no longer there since the addition of the water park . The ninja warrior like attraction with the zip line is no longer there nor are the larger inflatable slides . Due to this ,it’s not a great place for over 11 . I’d say best age is between 5-8 as most kids under 5 are given a toddler bracelet and can’t do several of the water slides( which are small and does not make sense ) and some of the inflatables . For a day trip I’d say it’s WAY over priced . I don’t drink but the alcoholic drinks were crazy expensive. The wave pool
and lazy River were cool and I’d say the park is very clean. Water park closes at 6 which feels way too early considering there is not much to do at the inflatable park . There is a smaller arcade .
Staff are not great at keeping rules at the inflatables( mostly on their phone -talking to each other ) making it chaotic and even unsafe for younger kids. Hotel was nice - very clean and beds were the most comfortable I have had in a hotel setting . I loved the outside tables in front of the rooms if you get a room on the lower level. Food is way over priced as well - a Gatorade was $ 4 and a personal pizza was 12 !!!
Nice one time trip - overall it was worth it and my four year old enjoyed himself .

It looks like they may have gotten rid of a bunch of inflatables, compared to the older pictures. We didn't see most of the ones that we looked forward to from older reviews.
It was super hot, the ground was hot to walk on and we weren't allowed to bring our waters in, the snack bar wasnt opened yet so we had to run out to the car for a water break.
Overall worth a visit for sure, a cloudy day or cool evening would be fun!

Love going here every year! They did an amazing job adding new attractions like the wave pool, new bathrooms, ice cream stand and more cabanas. The swim-up bar and surf simulator weren't ready when I visited in mid July. If you get there early, you can get a table/umbrella but a cabana is the way to go either along the lazy river or in front of the wave pool. Get here when they open at 10 and stay all day. You can also come and go as they allow re-entry. Great place!

Visited this spot years ago when it seemed to be a larger inflatable park than water park. Since then, they expanded the water park and appeared to reduce the inflatables. They also started charging $10 for parking. This trip I spent $70 for 2 kids to play for less than 10 minutes. Due to the heat our kids were getting injured while on the inflatables. They were getting burned and sticking to the slides causing them to flip. Maybe next time we will skip the inflatables and try the water park out. 💯 not recommending the inflatables on hot days

We've been visiting every summer since 2019. The prices just keep increasing. Adding and expanding the water park is a big hit. Just wish they could clean the pools better, watch out for all the bandaids & hair. But the kids always have a blast!

Disappointing visit. Went last year and really enjoyed it. This year, the park was in rough shape. Water areas were quite dirty, as can be seen in the picture. They need to brush the surfaces. Also, there were only staff monitoring the wave pool, lazy river, and inflatable water slide. Staff were not at the bigger water tubes in the back. In the past, there has been someone at the top of the tube making sure people go one at a time and wait for the previous person to get off. This time, no staff was there. Some bigger kids were going down and purposely crashing into each other. They were also running and cutting the smaller kids at the slides. It wasn’t safe or fun. Staff would occasionally walk by and see this, but didn’t do anything.
Best beach we visited on the Cape. Beautiful sand, nice benches to sit on, and clean restrooms. Plenty of parking...if you go in off hours the booth may not be staffed and parking is free.

Nice, quiet, early off season, not at all busy. Lots of shells, rocks, sea weed and Horseshoe crab bodies washed up on the shore. Good size parking lot that was fairly empty when we got there. It was a very interesting beach and I would recommend bringing a bucket or bag to collect stuff in because when the tide goes out there are TONS of shells and some are very shiny and it is amazing on warm sunny days but I would recommend putting sunscreen on because I made the mistake of not doing it and got sunburnt and don't let the cool breeze trick you while you sit out there because it feels cool from the breeze but you are really getting baked. And make sure to not step on shells. (They hurt)

Grays Beach, also known as Bass Hole Beach, is a picturesque saltwater beach located in Yarmouth, Massachusetts. It features a small stretch of sand and shallow waters ideal for paddling. The highlight of the beach is its long boardwalk that extends over marshes, offering breathtaking views of tropical flora and fauna as well as marine wildlife. Grays Beach represents the classic landscape often depicted in calm and scenic paintings of wetlands during low tides.
I found this beach on last morning of our week long vacation in South Yarmouth!!! the most beautiful beach I found yet in Cape Cod. first of all, I based my reviews on mobility impaired access, and boy does it ever have that! there is a pier and each plank on it is dedicated to a different person!! the pier stresses out easily half a mile and then has seats where you can sit and enjoy low tide or high tide. the marsh all around you and the small little beaches that are inaccessible at high tide give you the entire Cape Cod "unique" feeling!
unless I was in the wrong place I would not go here to have a traditional Beach experience, but it's absolutely stunning.
the marshes to the left as you walked on the pier out towards the open ocean ahead are proof positive that there is still hope for our ecological system! to the right there is a place you can launch boats and other watercraft, and that has a separate smaller Pier. I cannot wait because in 3 weeks I come back for my big annual Cape Cod vacation and this will be the first thing I do on my first day!!!!💕💖

Beautiful sunset view with a very long boardwalk over the marsh. Right before sunset there are a lot of cars coming in trying to find parking, so suggest you get there a bit earlier. While busy, everyone was nice and there were no problems using the boardwalk. The end of the boardwalk can get full on a nice evening. Looking for crabs in the marsh while walking the boardwalk is fun for the kiddos.

This was a fun adventure that was unexpected. If you have not been here, please go with your family. You can watch the sun set directly directly downwards. In addition, there is the longest boardwalk I've ever been on. Names are engraved into each plank. It is absolutely beautiful the marsh and the landscape the of the ocean.

Great little spot to visit at sunset. Peaceful and picture perfect 😊
Sarah Rupp — Google review
The boardwalk over the marshes is very nice, but I'm not sure it's worth the $20 fee for the day if you're not going to spend time on the beach. The beach itself is very small so it gets crowded easily even with a half-full parking lot. It took us about 10 minutes to walk the boardwalk and see the nice view, which we very much regretted spending $20 for even though it was very pretty
MothMagick — Google review
It's very difficult to say one location on Cape Cod is the most beautiful, but this place is certainly up there on that list. A long boardwalk extends out into the tidal bays giving you stunningly beautiful scenes. The parking lot is on the smaller side but that's only an issue during peak season. Perfect spot for a beautiful sunset. A couple benches offer seating out at the end of the boardwalk.
Frank Lukovits — Google review
The boardwalk and trails are a wonderful experience for children, and the playground and picnic pavilion with restrooms are nice amenities to the small beach and boat launch.

Just a great place to watch the sunset. It looks to be a local favorite, but the social media draws also could be reason for crowd size near sunset. We came near low tide, should try again at high tides.

It was so beautiful and peaceful. Did get quite busy around sunset but it was still beautiful to watch. At low tide the water Gets so low you can walk pretty far out on the sand. The water is calm when the tide is high for swimming but otherwise the beach is small and also has a boat launch area.

Grays beach is beautiful and you wouldn’t even know it’s there. Just in the north Dennis/Yarmouth area. Just to the left of corporation beach on the map. Some tips get there a little early cause it’s very popular and don’t want to be looking for a parking spot while the sun is setting. And the most important thing. Bring bug spray or cover up. It can ruin it. I’ve seen too many people freak out and leave before the sunset.the main reason for coming.anyway. Not the greatest beach. Wouldn’t take the family there for the day it’s definitely a place to go see the sunset after spending the day at a more serious beach. Don’t forget camera.

Robert Nash and Staff are wonderful to work with, are artists themselves. The Cultural Center of Cape Cod hosted my art show, Fractals in 3D, in the Vault. Our invited guests were warmly greeted and treated to well-presented hors d'oeuvres plus wine & cheese. I was an active CCoCC artist and attended their venues until moving off-Cape.

Great supporter of the local arts. They have something going on all the time in the multitude of different disciplines, writing, painting, music, photography and more.

This is a neat spot! I loved my visit. Lovely artwork in the gallery. A neat cafe that I didn't buy anything from but I'd like to go back. The person at the counter was very friendly. And my favorite part was the artists' studios upstairs. They have lots of cool things going on here. I am going to try to spend more time here because it is a great place!

Super cool art in a huge space that was formerly a bank. The large bank vault looks like something out of a 1920's movie, and the huge, polished metal door is open and houses a smaller exhibit, while the large, easily 3-story main room (which I imagined with long counters and bank tellers), houses paintings on the walls and a grand piano that looks tiny in the vast room. The side room had wooden furniture made by an artisan whose work was astonishing, melding old world craftsmanship with a modern eye to design, resulting in some of the most beautiful wood furniture I've ever seen. I believe that room rotates what it exhibits.
The very best part of the visit was Kit Kat, the resident stray who wandered in and stayed! He socializes with everyone he meets and is so chill! After a short introduction while he sat on a desk used for transactions and to give out information, I talked to him. He eyed me and then jumped down to lie on the cool floor. He let both me and my husband pet him and never got testy. After a while he went to the door and gazed out. I asked one of the people who were running the the place if he was allowed to go outside, and she said yes.
When we left and went to our car, Kit Kat seemed interested in something under an out building and was crawling underneath it to investigate - or perhaps have a nap! Don't miss this friendly guy if you go to the Cultural Center!

Heard there’s a food festival ( the 1st annual food festival or something). Admission is 25 for early bird and 30 for walk in. but just had had lunch elsewhere. Will come next year for this exciting event!

My wife got to participate in a 5K and received a medal and gift card for placing 2nd in her age group. The staff was very friendly and helpful as they opened their gift shop early for us so we could use our gift card since we are from out of town. We got an adorable "Dogs on Cape Cod" photo book that we are excited to display on our coffee table when we get home! They support their local community, don't forget to support them back!
Not exactly a beach, but pretty spot to sit and relax. Lots of beautiful homes around the area to look at. Great for a picnic lunch!

A history filled stop off the beaten path on the Yarmouth shore of the Bass River. Wonderful views up and down the river, of Stage Island in the river’s flow, and across the river to West Dennis Beach. Nice No Matter the Weather!

Nice little place to sit and enjoy a book. Safe place for kids to splash in the water but watch for boats. These pictures are from a foggy day in April. Not 5 stars because there is little parking.

Tiny beach in order to get there you must walkdown some stairs. On site a pretty non working windmill for display and scenic view. Their is limited parking and all in all a cozy spot. But I would not bathe on this beach, too many boats abound.

I didn’t swim here as the tiny beach was too crowded at high tide but I did park my bike here to go for a run around the neighborhood. Very fun, family friendly spot with free parking.

Found this neat little spot off the beaten path. Spent serine time viewing the water and clouds, while smelling the salt water in the air.

Loved it here. There's a small parking lot and a short length of brackish, warm, comfortable, clear water beach, keep your eyes open for jellyfish, hermit crabs, periwinkle snails and green crabs. There's also a small plot of lush green grass above the beach and it includes a bit of shade. Different from the usual commercial beaches, but lovely in it's own local way.

Small but beautiful beach. Tiny lot, 4 spots total. Lot filled up quick, and this was around 8am.

Very nice New England view with a pleasant breeze. Wind surfers here are fun to watch. The beach was very small though and quite crowded. We sat at the end, but still in front of the private beach sign and a neighbor was quick to come out and have us move.
The Edward Gorey House is an interesting museum which features works by the author and illustrator, Edward Gorey. The house is decorated with dark humor, and the staff is welcoming and fun. The ticket cost only $8, making it a great value for a day trip from Boston.
This house and everything in it is so magnificent! It was such a great visit being able to step into Edward Gorey's house and learning so much more about him from the wonderful staff and beautifully curated selections of books, excerpts, plushies and other important objects he collected. This is well worth the visit and folks were very mindful when moving from room to room.
I picked up one of their cute car shirts that they do not sell online. Please visit the house if you are a fan of Edward.

We decided to visit Cape Cod peninsula on a day trip and this was one of the hidden gem we found on our way. The house is a museum of Edward Gorey life and works, the staff is welcoming and fun, and the experience is wonderfully weird and entertaining. The ticket cost only $8, and it’s really worth it! You will love the dark sense of humor of the hidden clues hunt in the house and you can buy some amazing artwork of Edward Gorey at the small store right at the entrance of the house.

Amazing experience! I’ve been a lifelong Gorey fan and we’ve now made two kiddos into fans as well. The scavenger hunt was super fun for kids and adults alike. Amusing signs and surprises hidden all over. Will definitely make this an annual visit!

One of the most interesting (and for some people, very difficult to understand) artists. I simply love his stuff.
Visiting the Gorey house allowed me to understand how the artist who created the art that I've enjoyed for so long lived. It was fun and interesting and moving, and the docent was well informed and energetic. Highly recommended.

Such an amazing, wonderful, compelling museum. There are so many layers to Edward Gorey’s collection and art, and there’s something oddly comforting about it all. I plan to go back every time I visit Cape Cod.

What to do in Yarmouth? The Beach is nice, and I wouldn't miss the Pirate Museum but even better than both of those places is the Edward Gorey House. If you don't have a copy of the Gastlycrumb Tinies or remember the BBS Mystery opening theme you might have to look into Mr. Gorey, and really there's not a better way than visiting his house that they have converted to a museum. The volunteers are awesome, and really, it is worth your time to just see the place where he created many of his works and go through the pieces they have there. It's a really great time.

A great attraction on Cape Cod! Literary attractions are my favorites when I travel and I was so happy with this one. I love all the information throughout the house, the built-ins, the knowledgeable tour guide, and the quaint gift shop.

Get your gothic fix at this Cape American treasure! The house is frozen in time as if the artist himself just stepped out… Like a Victorian tea party with a side of arsenic, it’s elegant, refined, and yet somehow on the verge of chaos just like Mr. Gorey's motley crew of animal characters, orphans, eccentrics, and the occasional ghost!! Strengthen your sense of impending doom with a visit today. 👻

I haved loved Gorey since the 80s. My mom introduced me to his work, I loved the Mystery Theater opening. I finally made it to the house. Mary Ann was our guide, she was awesome really kept our interest and very knowledgeable. The house/museum was so fascinating. I hope next time I'll be able to meet the kittens upstairs.

A very unique museum that offers you a glimpse into the quirky world of Edward Gorey. Everywhere you look, there's something to take in. Each thing a little more interesting than the last. I find the staff to be super knowledgeable and friendly and helpful. It's an amazing thing to try to figure out how this man's mind worked and to get a glimpse into his world. Highly recommend if you're in the area that you stop by. The grounds are interesting as well.
Six beautifully groomed har-tru tennis courts, a very welcoming group of members, and a competent and caring management and staff, have made this the best Cape Cod tennis club for us for many years.

Great club. Friendly people. Used to be a members only private club. Now visitors and vacationers to Cape Cod are now welcomed to play. Watched some of the juniors playing in the mid-day Youth Program. Very well run instruction.

South Yarmouth Tennis Club offers significant value for the tennis enthusiast with its well-maintained clay courts, tranquil setting, delightful member base, and competitive match play to accommodate all skill levels. There is an element of organization that exists at SYTC (weekly ladder groups, round-robins, private and group clinics, tournaments) that isn't necessarily the case at competing (and often more expensive) tennis clubs around the Cape. I personally opt for the full season membership to enjoy the club throughout the summer and into the fall. Daniel C.

My wife and I who have come late in life to tennis, and are not very competitive, are finding the SYTC ideal for our needs as amateur, older players. But there is also plenty of competition at all age groups for the more ambitious players. The courts are well maintained, the staff is helpful, and the members are welcoming. Set in a quiet locale with a Cape Cod feeling, the club is a great discovery.

These six popular clay courts set on a treed, secluded, quiet location offer members and vacationers alike a great tennis experience affordable on a daily or weekly basis, or via temporary or full memberships for the April through October playing season. The club is easy to find, welcomes vacationers and can often set up matches with members at all levels of play. I found two great vacationer partners last year and look forward to their return this year. Love playing on these courts! When he's not keeping the courts in great shape head pro Rich Shannon offers lessons and stringing and helps make SYTC the kind of club you want to keep coming back to!

I am new to Tennis and as a first year member I have had a great experience. I am playing twice a week in a league with some wonderful women, and have been welcomed into the more competitive events with an attitude of “the more the merrier”. I have enjoyed the social events too. It’s a fun group of people, quiet and pleasant location and I look forward to many more years there!

We are long time members and SYTC has progressed in all aspects yearly! If a tennis player or wanna be one come and try us out. Many opportunities for all levels of play. And the surface is great for the aging body!!!!

Tennis, anyone? I have played at many clubs on the Cape (and elsewhere) SYTC courts are the best. The members really care about this club, from maintenance to inclusion of guests and new members. There are varied levels of play, clinics, teams and SOCIAL EVENTS.... did I mention social events? Pizza and tennis, tapas and tennis, brunch and tennis, (eating is popular), and a wooden racquet tournament. Tennis players being tennis players, competition happens, but there is a lot of laughing and friendly ribbing, also. Stop by, talk to the pro or his asst. Come and join us!! for a day, a week, or a season!

SYTC is a gem of a find in the mid Cape. The 6 Har tru courts are kept in pristine condition. The staff and membership have been very welcoming to us as new members this season, and there are frequent round robins and social events to meet other members. We are having a blast at SYTC!

It took me many summers to find this tennis gem. Six great clay courts, friendly members and helpful staff. Within a week I was hitting as much as I wanted. Definitely signing up for ‘23.
The Werner Schmidt Observatory, situated within the Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School campus in South Yarmouth, MA, is a captivating facility that offers an exceptional stargazing experience. Equipped with a 12.5-foot Ash Dome and advanced telescopes including the Meade LX200 GPS telescope and two 8-inch telescopes, this observatory provides visitors with an opportunity to explore the wonders of the night sky.
A rainy day on the cape, we googled places of interest. The Werner Schmidt Observatory was suggested. This gem is nestled on the grounds of Dennis/Yarmouth High School. Well worth your time if the kids are cranky and you’re trying to kill some time.

Beautifully arranged shop, where you can find old to new unique items for your home, all very reasonably priced. Worth checking in there often. I got the darling mermaid and big compass rose there in the photo below.

This is a great place especially for furniture! Everything is in good condition and reasonably priced! The owners are on "Prem" at all times too. Keep in mind that this is a Consignment shop so asking for a reduction in price on an item is usually not an option, although with such reasonable rates you don't need one. Really! Neat. Clean. Well arranged in settings. Great glassware, kitchen items, accessories... A must 'DO' for Thrift Shop goers!

Great little shop with all kinds of things for sale. I found a great pair of shoes and top as well as a sweet fisher type hat. The staff was kind and helpful and friendly. The prices are reasonable and the items are in very good condition. I had a nice time shopping here and was very happy with my purchases.

The 1736 Josiah Dennis Manse Museum is a stunning location that has been visited by many people. The informative guides provide valuable insights into the history and significance of the site. During the Christmas season, it is particularly beautiful. An open house event on September 25th presents an exciting opportunity for members of the community to explore and enjoy this magnificent museum.
We visited for two hours, but there is a treasure of at least two days of history in this olde home, the historical artifacts of the area gathered in it, and the tremendously knowledgeable historical society volunteers who bring it to life. My 7 year old daughter, my wife and my mom all found it fascinating, so all age groups should share it. Worthy of much more attention from local residents and summer tourists alike. A true treasure and amazingly free. Go learn some Dennis history through there!

The Winslow Crocker House is a museum that was constructed in 1780 and boasts an impressive Georgian-style architecture. The site offers guided bi-monthly tours during specific seasons, allowing visitors to experience the living history of the place. This historic home serves as a significant representation of the past and its preservation ensures that its legacy is passed on for generations to come.
I have visited all thirty-eight houses owned by Historic New England, and this was my last stop. I received an especially warm welcome from the excellent guides and celebrated my completion of the HNE passport book. This lovingly renovated home filled with antique furniture was the perfect way to bring this phase of my adventure to a close.
Winslow Crocker House is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. during the regular season from June through October. Tours are on the hour and last about 45 minutes. Tickets are standard HNE small house pricing: $10 for adults, $9 for seniors and students, $5 for children, and $0 for HNE members (like me!). Like most historic homes, the building is not accessible to those using wheelchairs or with limited mobility. No virtual tour is available at this time. Parking is on Strawberry Lane, a roundabout down the street near the Captain Bangs Hallet House and Edward Gorey House.
An enjoyable small little nature park, right off the main road. There are tables and benches to enjoy the beautiful scenery. We ate our brunch take-out here on the table. We took a short walk down towards the marsh to view birds in the birdhouses.
