Nice experience! 5$ general admission with no cover from sun or rain or 15$ and up for cover/tables. We didn't need the cover because we would just go inside to look around and place bets. Then go outside to see the race. If placing bets, you'll have to buy a catalog for 5$. It's a must do and fun!

First time visiting this place and I was impressed. The General Admission parking and the Casino parking are free. I visited to see a free concert. Little Joe y la Familia was SO good. The concert was held in a big white tent that is closer to the casino parking lot. All the employees were helpful and kind. There are port-a-potties outside the tent. They offer food, drinks, and alcoholic beverages there. They had chairs and tables (first come first serve) and a dance floor. The parking is very hectic, but there are sufficient amount of spaces, you just have to walk a bit. There are bathrooms inside the casino, too, that is directly across the tent. I definitely recommend the concert events.

Love this track. Beautiful Lincoln County. Pine trees, mountains, afternoon showers, evening lightning lights up the sky AND I get to watch quarter horses and thoroughbreds run..... wait... I can bet on those horses too, what is this place? Heaven? No, Ruidoso Downs which is pretty close to heaven.

It was my first time at a horse race! It was so much fun! We sat, we stood by the rails, we bet. We did it all. Everyone was nice and one of the horses came up to us and we were able to pet it. They are definitely people oriented. They want you to have a great time. The bar area is clean and the atmosphere amazing! Will he going back!

This race track is kind of a dump. I was very disappointed in the selection of concessions that they had. hotdogs, nachos, and some sad sandwiches. The prices were ridiculous. The track itself seemed ok, but the grandstands and public areas are old and wore out. This place needs a major upgrade.

Three Stars because it was a nice family event. We enjoyed watching the races from the table in the smokehouse area. We paid $120 for a table not covered. If we were to do it again I would definitely get covered, as it was very hot. Service in this area was non existent. We had to walk to the bar to order everything we wanted. I asked about food and she said she would send someone over to take our order. About the 15 minutes later someone arrived to take our food order. The only time I saw the server was to take order, drop food, and bring the check (which I had to go find her to ask for) I was overcharged for two double mixed drinks. I showed her on the menu where it had the prices listed for a double. She called the manager. I waited probably another 15 plus minutes and no manager showed. She ended up giving me the difference in cash and said the manager would reimburse her. I did assure that she was for certain going to get reimbursed, as I didn’t want her to personally give me money out of her pocket. She said she would. Overall we enjoyed the day and experience.

Went to the dinner for the first time there last night. Smelled walking in the door. Was like ok well let's ignore that and try it anyway. Bad choice. You'd think a place that makes the kind of money they do would update every 20 years or so. So dated. Anyway. We both ordered the 13.99 Ribeye special. Talk about low end steak. And it wasn't cooked even close to what we ordered. (Medium and medium well, both undercooked) Not sure if it's better during the busy season, but there is literally no chance we will ever eat there again.
The main beautiful building is wonderful to shop and taste with kids across the street is a great smaller tasting bar with outdoor seating. Cigar cabinet has amazing choices! Park behind smaller bar. This place is a must is you love wine, cheese, meats and fire pit seating!

This was a nice establishment with a very nice staff. I expected my charcuterie to come out on wood or a board, but got a tray instead. Also, I do a bit of wine tasting and no one in my party got a buzz. Maybe the pours are smaller, maybe the time between wine taste visits were more spread out, or maybe we all increased out tolerance at the same time.

We had a really good experience here on a previous trip to Ruidoso so we just knew we had to stop in again.
Unfortunately this trip, the service was not good. We tried to order at the counter but were directed to sit in a section with wait staff. The waitress initially took our order then promptly ignored us the rest of the time. We had to wave and hunt her down every time we needed anything at all.
The good news is that the baguette board is still delicious (even better than my last visit!) and they have a great selection of beers and wines.

Stopped by this winery after shopping. This place did not disappoint. Janet was very knowledgeable on the wines and suggested the ones we would like based on our tastes. We would definitely come back for more wine and cheese. This place has a very good chill vibe. Try out the Demigod room when there. We ordered the baguette platter, which was really good. If you are unsure of which cider to get, try the cider flight. The pomegranate one I liked the best!!!

This is a cute, intimate theater and I endorse the mission of bringing cultural enrichment to rural communities. Architecture is nice, and the glass lobby is beautiful. Staff was all exceptionally friendly. I was not very impressed by the dinner service offered before the show, however. Served on plastic plates with plastic utensils, I felt like I was having school lunch. I feel like this was more of a fundraising effort. But I loved Cats and I'd definitely come again to see more touring broadway!

It’s about time Spencer began bringing just a bit more variety. Yes Country music is nice but NOT all the time! The Irish dance collective brought to Spencer illustrated at least to me that Spencer can expand its repertoire. How about jazz and Latin jazz ensembles? Spencer does need to not be so parochial—New Mexico does have a wide range of folk. To reiterate, the Irish dance collective was well worth our time.

The Spencer Theater for the Performing Arts is an absolute gem in the outskirts of Alto, NM. My husband and I are from AZ and had tickets to the Top of the World Carpenters Tribute for our 40th anniversary this weekend. The Theater and performance did not disappoint. It was SOLD OUT! Grindstone lake is awesome. Although the Damn House was closed when we visited, the area is simply amazing. What makes it great is it's proximity to mid town Ruidoso. It's about a 5 minute drive. Boating and fishing are available and you can rent kayaks on the lake. An on the lake water recreation area is also available with an inflatable rock climbing feature. I believe the water rec area is $20 per person.

Beautiful lake and forest combination. This place is good for swimming, kayaking, and fishing. There is no alcohol permitted but I saw many guests that had brought alcohol anyways. It has bathrooms with running water which is great! It is very busy in the summer. 4 stars because you have to haul all of your belongings from parking to the lake. So, if you go far around the lake to find a spot you have to haul your ice chest, canopy, and other belongings. Otherwise, great experience and beautiful views. Our family had a great time!

The lake is beautiful. Nice waters and super awesome hiking/biking trails all around. You can do it til your heart is content. The only downside is there is A LOT of people there and unfortunately they leave their trash behind. Take the trails to avoid the crowds. During two bike rides I didn’t encounter anyone on them. Such a shame because they offer amazing views.
Oliver Smith — Google review
What a great place to swim, paddle, fish, bike, or just hang out! Very family friendly and great for picnicking. There's a path all the way around the lake, so there's plenty of lake shore to find a secluded spot for hanging out. The dam is off limits, so you will need to hike or bike around on the trails to get to the far side. There are port-o-lets and trailer-based restrooms on the parking lot side and a ways down the path on the same side of the lake if you follow the wide path, but it is very primitive on the far side with only a single-track hiking/biking trail. We visited in July and the water was cool and refreshing (I would guess about 70°F). Entry fee is $5 per car, but free if you bike in. There's plenty of parking, but if you visit on the weekends, be aware that you may need a reservation. There's a boat launch and boathouse where they rent all sorts of watercraft, from paddle boats (leg-powered), to canoes, kayaks, and stand-up paddle boards. When we were there, there was also a food truck serving pizzas and other such food. The lake does not allow motor-powered craft, but I believe that electric fishing boat motors are allowed. Best to check, though. COVID-19: Masks are required, but in my experience, once in, not many people follow the rule.

Nice Lake at Ruidoso, NM. In Jan 2021, when we were there, some renovation works on road, base ongoing. Hopefully, after the work, whole place will be more charming. Boating was restricted due to COVID. Overall awesome lake nearby, especially who lives in El Paso TX.
Pillow's Funtrackers is an exciting amusement park that offers a variety of activities for visitors of all ages. These include three different go-kart tracks, an 18-hole mini-golf course, bumper boats, a challenging maze and arcade games. The park is reasonably priced and provides excellent value for money with tricky holes on the golf course and thrilling rides on the pro track that caters to adults looking for high-speed karting experiences.
The family has a blast here. $7 a ticket for the go karts which is a fair price for what you get. For a large family things like this can get expensive. They have a tiny track for littles, a medium track for everyone including double riding cars, and a pro track. They have mini golf, bumper boats, games, and snacks.
Emily Porteous Martinez — Google review
The go kart track was great, but it wasn’t smooth it actually was pretty bumpy. If you have a kid that’s smaller, and that can’t ride on the bigger one don’t worry they have a track just for little ones. The bumper cars were great if you like the feeling of getting bumped you probably shouldn’t ride it because it doesn’t even feel like you got hit (required height is at least 40 inches). The put put was great really fun, and some great mechanics. They also have some snacks there not many I wouldn’t eat a meal there. On the go kart the breaks don’t work that well also the top speed is at a ok speed I didn’t ride on the pro one though. They have a Vr system with air hockey, and a gold digging crane you might want to bring quarters because the air hockey, and the gold digging crane need quarters. Hope this was helpful 😁

Everything is really fun! Great place to bring kids. Cool atmosphere outside in the mountains.
Only giving it 4 stars because 1) the mini-golf course is too hard. So many of the holes' surfaces are uneven, to the extent that if you miss your shot, the ball will roll ALL the way back to the start, or down some other slope. My son and I are generally decent mini-golf putters, but many of the surfaces here are too slanted, and our balls would just not stop rolling.
And 2), I think it's a bit expensive compared to similar entertainment centers I've been to. It would be nice if they had an "unlimited play" package (like 2 or 3 hours) instead of requiring tickets for each attraction.

What a fun place!! Kids and I had a great time. Bought $100 worth of tickets for our 4, 11, and 20 year olds. And guests. Lasted several hours. The 4 yr old rode the go cart track with me and she even got to race her own car on the Turtle track. I didn’t even know that she knew how to drive lol. She was tall enough to do the bumper cars, which are single passenger only. But not the traditional style bumper cars. They were more like bumper boats on land so that collisions weren’t even felt, which was great for her first time. The medium track(fun track?) was a blast for all of us. It has 4 turns and most of the carts are evenly matched. It’s 5 minutes for one ride and one ride is one ticket. Mini golf was good. Air hockey was fun. No long lines!! Parking was easy. Staff was friendly and helpful! We will be going again next time we visit.

There are 3 go kart tracks. 1 for smaller children(with a parent riding options)one for kids and teens, 1 for adults and bigger teens. It’s the pro track, it is honestly slick and pretty damn fun.
My dad took me there, I am 30 years old and he is 50. It was still super fun for us in the environment is also nice. So that should be a good enough accurate representation of how pleasant it is for two adult men!
Miniature golf, bumper boats and a large maze that is like 5000 square feet!

I have to do a whole new update. Sooo in the RED HAT restaurant, there is a new manager and new chef, and they are changing thing's around a lot. They have gotten new cooks at night that rock at cooking, but I will tell you that when you place your order, there will be a little bit of a wait to get your food because THEY GOT A NEW MENU and the cooks are still trying to get use to it 😉 😀 but the wait isn't to long. Believe me, if you get a good waitress and she/he stays on top of your order, the cooks will work as fast as they can to get your order up, and then it's up to your waitress to get it out to you 😉 BUT OMG the NEW MENU is worth going for because the food is great and the NEW DRINKS so worth it 😉. I can't stress enough to try the food and drinks and meet the manager and chef, they are great. We needed them😉😃
SO I HAVE A UPDATE: The Manager just put in a Wine Rack 🍷and a Dessert display so you can see what they have for the day/night and get you a piece. I'm sharing pictures of them so check it out ! And go visit the RED HAT believe me when I say you won't be let down ❣️

Was surprised it was not busy on a Saturday night from 5:30 to 8pm while we were there. We went to the restaurant. The Hostess/bartender saw us walk in and did not greet us, looked at us and walked away so we sat ourselves. The waitress came by after a few minutes. She was nice enough but only had 1 speed and that was SLOW. Murphys law kicked in and service did not get any better. The food was good. They were proud of their beer for $6 and mixed drinks were $8. Just don't expect much and you won't be disappointed. We couldnt get our waitresses attention so, you had to go up to the bar to ask for water, another drink and salad dressing and she gave us the wrong ticket so we had to wait longer to get that straightened out to pay and leave.

This used to be our favorite local casino to play but then management decided to make some changes for the worst. They eliminated local promotions such as hot seat drawings and weekly free play. They also removed many of our favorite machines, especially video poker and replaced them with virtual roulette and blackjack which take up much space but no one seems to play. Unless some changes for the better are made we will probably be playing elsewhere.

Like I said been there lot's of times, no improvements. They have plenty of space to construct, expand casino floor. But no, employees are old, have nothing against older people. a perfect place. Although it was not crowded, I befriended a 49er fan named Bea. She was a regular there and we had a blast! The staff is nice and we had a great time. I even won at "Squares" which was a suprise!
Best set up ever this year . Looks like it will be a great gun show.

The convention center is always a welcoming place for events in Ruidoso. It has ample space for vendors or exhibits, good air circulation, and facilities for food preparation if needed. The layout is well thought out!

surrounded by The Links golf course and within walking distance to nearby attractions, hotels and restaurants. Always very clean and safe for large events. Public Restrooms provided in building. Plenty of parking (not shaded). Service animals welcome. Water fountains located inside convention center as well.

A fabulous place to hold a meeting or conference. Fabulous views of the Sierra Blanca Mountains make you feel like you are on vacation! We keep going back there year after year with different groups. The Staff is super efficient and friendly and make the whole experience very easy on planners and attendees alike!

It was awesome so beautiful up there. I loved it :) moving there soon that is how much i liked it. The center was so amazing so many native customs its awesome.
The Hubbard Museum of the American West is a charming historical institution that showcases an array of objects and artworks from the Old West, including wagons and Native American art. Visitors can explore the Anne C. Stradling Collection which features over 10,000 horse-related paintings and drawings. The museum also offers interactive experiences such as trying on costumes, getting on wagons and horses, and visiting a small Casita.
You must visit! It is an amazing museum full of history and information. Great place for kids and adults. They have areas for kids to touch and play, they can also to dress up. Museum is well kept and clean. It is wheelchair accessible so no one can miss the fun. They also have an area to buy souvenirs.

The Museum was Great! We got to get on wagons, horses, try on costumes, and go inside a small Casita! Even the gift shop was great! I bought some turquoise earrings and a coffee cup. Everything in there was amazing 😍!

I arrived after the place had closed for the day, so I just did the little trail outside and read about the different horses. I'd like to go back and look through the museum itself but with hours like that I dont see it happening. The grounds are clean and the states are very lifelike (at least to a guy who knows nothing about the breeds ha ha)

Closed, I was very much wanting to see it. Not sure when they will open but I may not be coming back around here so I missed out.

I love how realistic the displays were set up here. A true representation of the rich history of the Wild West. And you get to play dress up in styles of clothing from that time period. Fun for the entire family.

A wonderful depiction of the American West. Lovely buggy's, wagons, chuck wagon and other items used to live in the wild west. Beautiful jewelry and household items from The Anne C. Stradling collection. A great place for children to explore. Along with a wonderful reading corner or a buggy to climb on. Take a couple of hours and go explore the history of the area. Note; handicap parking is on the lower back side.
Zalida May — Google review
We spent hours here! The kid's dress up & imagination areas were wonderful! They can also complete a booklet and get a prize.
No kids? There is a lot to see. Art, wagons, clothing, etc. Dont miss the horse sculptures outside!
Handicap parking is available on the lower level.

Beautiful little museum in Ruidoso, New Mexico. Wish we would have came here 20 years ago with the kids before they were all grown. Great lil souvenir shop as well... Well worth the visit and good for kids.
This place has the best burgers in town with a variety of options you can Add to your burger. Guaranteed!!

The mountain coaster was cool, short but cool. Definitely not worth the amount they charge. Took longer to fill out the waiver that the coaster ride.

Kool place but most of there games were not working I think it was to pricey for the games they have available. Golf was ok everything else was close .the food and coffee shop were the best part there.

It might be better during winter but we did not have a great experience during spring break. The snow and tubing were fine, but in 2 hours we were only able to go down three hills because of the lines. And because of the mud from melting snow we were not able to go out afterwards. I think they could benefit from a cap on the number of tickets they sell in a day. Not worth the price in my opinion

Great places to take your kids and spend the afternoon or all day. They had a outside maze to go through, go-karts miniature golf and bumper cars inside a building. Will go again with the kids next time we're in town.

We wanted to take our kids here because we thought they would really enjoy it. We got there and the parking lot was empty so we thought we beat the crowd, Wrong! We couldn't get passed the uninviting employees and their unwillingness to explain how anything worked or what anything was. The unprofessionalism of the staff is what made us leave without spending a dime in this establishment. It was then that we came to the conclusion that we didn't beat any crowd, it was just that the staff is so rude that people would rather go elsewhere. We ended up leaving and and went to the bowling center where it was a much better experience.

The worst place to go. False advertising is all they doing literally and it stinks so bad in there. Do not come here waist of money and then they won’t refund you a money.

The staff could use an attitude adjustment. They seemed like they don't want to be there and the feeling definitely rubs off on you as a customer. There were many things we wanted to try, but their attitude dissuaded us from staying longer and trying out more games. We went on Sunday, Dec. 5th at 3 and there were 2 female attendants that lack courtesy and a smile. We drove 2 and 1/2 miles to visit Ruidoso and that unwelcoming gesture should get a definite fix.

The pizza was amazing.... couldn't play any of the games.... No one on duty.... would have stayed longer if we were able to play some of the games.

Most of their games didn't work but if you swiped your card it took your coins out and the girl at the desk said she didn't know how to fix it

We actually come to this place for the roasted corn! Every year we come to New Mexico we stop here. They never disappoint. There is an awesome public park with a little creek next door for the family to play in. The take very good care of their ponies. It's a family owned business and their kids were out pampering the hard working ponies in between rides. You can tell they are loved.

Love their NEW BBQ sandwiches!!
The Pony Ring is a fun experience for any young child and their guardians who want to share that first time ride joy.
The horses are properly taken care of, given days off, and have a giant field as their home. Those who don’t understand the industry might assume otherwise, but it always helps to ask questions to understand the truth.

No drawbacks here. Great place to take kids. They loved the $10 pony rides (only for those under 100 pounds). The shop has a variety of food, treats, and drinks. And then right across the road is a nice playground, park, walking trail and fun creek to wade in.

Came with my niece for a little girls trip. It ended with her asking to move to New Mexico to live with the ponies! Her favorite one was Panda. She also had her first frito pie and they were sooo good. It’s hard to find a place that can entertain both adults and kids and satisfy both bellies. The only thing I don’t like is how they rolled out those BBQ sandwiches after our trip had already ended 😂
Love this place. You can find the coolest gift items for just about everyone. The booths are well organized. Not junkie!!! Browsing but I always buy more than I came in for. You can spend about 2 hours just prowling around looking at the antiques!! 2 buildings full of things. I suggest you check this place out I. Ruidoso Downs!! Pretty darn cool!!!

The people in this store are awful! RUDE!! Side talking my kids about “it’s not yours until your parents pay” as we were headed to the counter. After paying my family walked out and I heard her talking bad about children. Things are overpriced and they won’t talk about making deals on anything under $50. Anything you take home from this place will have a bad vibe. My 2 year old ended up with a bouncy ball in his hand without a tag, I walked all over the store looking for other balls or a missing tag. Didn’t find anything. She was ugly and said it was probably to a jack set or something. It was a used bouncy ball. Lol. That lady was NASTY. We have not experienced anything like it in all of New Mexico. Much less Ruidoso. Never will return to this overpriced awful vibed place. She’s clearly in menopause and taking it out on surrounding children. Beware!

I used to love this place and it was a sure stop when we visited Ruidoso but I will never come back or spend another dime here. They were so rude to my very well behaved kids. Our kids stay right by our side whenever we go anywhere. We are careful about what we let them touch, especially in a store like this. But I felt like the woman at the front was dying to be rude to them. They can keep their precious junk. I will never be back and if you’re bringing kids along with you, beware.

They have lots of stuff, lol. I bought some old collectables for my daughter, crystall glassware, great antiques, like books, what nots, pictures ,keepsakes of all kind, hand made piece pipe. I spent 2 hours on one end of the building, and they have more than one building. Gota go.
Matt Williams — Google review
Two warehouses of individual vendor booths. Thrifter's dream!! Some vendors are a little delusional with the prices, but there are so many booths, someone else is probably selling the same thing for a reasonable price. We're originally from NY, so it's always worth a chuckle that most of the country doesn't consider a cane sword worth a felony, and stuff like that is sold openly - I still wasn't buying it for my 14 y-o.

Amazing store to find unique treasures, it's a big big place they have everything and more than you can imagine. If you're looking for antique stuff i recommend this place. I found a beautiful vintage handbag. I love it.

Prices are a little steep on some things but this is a fun place to walk around. They have an eclectic mix of items. Staff were very friendly and I loved the honesty in their mask mandate sign.
Amanda Elaine Standifer — Google review
Like the sign says, isles and isles of stuff. I spent a fair amount of time checking everything out. Some things fair priced, other things way overpriced. Nice little touristy stop.

Oh so fun! Tip: there are two buildings make sure you walk through both. We found nice items in both. So clean and organized, yet each shop was unique, and fun to walk through. The floors were clear of debris and looked like they get swept pretty often. The check out process was fast and easy (except on this day the credit card machine was hit by lightening in the back building. Here's the amazing part, they were even willing to takes checks just so their customers are happy) the gal out the counter at both stores were super nice. We will be back the next time we are in town, can't wait to see what's next! Thank you!
Rena Kilgore — Google review
Great place! Prices reflect value of items and not garage sale prices. If you know what you are buying then you know this!!! There is a little bit of everything! Definitely not a place to let children roam and run free!! Parents need to respect this.
The Re Store is an impressive establishment with a wide array of captivating items. It offers a rich variety of decorations and gifts that are sure to delight anyone who visits. The amiable owners create a warm atmosphere and engaging conversations. This charming shop holds sentimental value for those who have connections to the East Coast, as it brings forth nostalgic memories of visiting loved ones. Its diverse collection caters to different tastes, making it truly inclusive.
This is such a neat place. They have so many things to look at. We really enjoyed wandering through the store and seeing what they had to offer. The owners were both so nice. We enjoyed chatting with them. If you need decorations or a gift for someone, drop by here. They are sure not too disappoint. I wish we lived closer so we could visit more frequently.

Update:
Disappointed!
We purchased a desk with book shelves attached to the top of it, and the cashier said it could be shipped to El Paso from Ruidoso.
Unfortunately, when I subsequently contacted the owners to arrange for shipping, they told me that Ruidoso was a “small town” and finding a delivery service was unlikely.
With that, we went back to pick it up ourselves. (A six-hour round trip.) The owner did help my husband load it into our Jeep, and told him that the screws which held the two pieces together were in one of the drawers. (We couldn’t check ourselves because they had wrapped the pieces in plastic for transport.)
Upon returning home, we discovered the screws were not there. (We ended up buying replacements from the hardware store.)
The piece is beautiful, but the owners were less than careful in making sure the transaction was a success!
I was sad, disappointed and very sorry for the situation, especially since I WAS such a frequent customer. I believe that merchants should take care of their customers, because the customers take care of them! 😢

This is a fun store to spend lots of time browsing and looking at all types of antiques and treasures! They are moderately priced, with nothing outrageously priced. They ship all over the country, and I wanted it all!!lol, but I just don't have the room. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5
