Lots of rescued animals in a beautiful setting. The farm is gorgeous. Wear good solid hiking boots- it’s a farm so there may be poop around.

When you get to Maui go here first, second and last. This is such a fun and cool place. We had a great time. The founder, Hosts and mostly the volunteers make this a special place and they do such good things here. The animals are the best part. There is every kind of cat you can think of. The animals are very well cared for with much love. I will be back every time I return to Maui.
Don’t hesitate to call, email and book a tour or volunteer for a day. Thank you for doing what you do on your farm. I loved this day on Maui.

We‘ve been to Leilani Farm Sanctuary for a Tour and we can tell you this place is paradise!! Happy animals, nice people, wonderful nature and exotic plants everywhere. They do such an important job and work selfless for the „unwanted“. Thanks so much for giving those animals such a nice home ❤️
PS. our guide was so so nice and explained everything very well, also after the tour she answered all our questions and talked with us for a while. Thank you so much!

I myself love animals and like to get engaged, but found the whole experience off putting as it basically amounted to following a grumpy woman’s around on her feeding schedule while she monologged passive aggressive statements about the animals past and the guests alike. Not worth $50/per person for our 4 person family.
I was surprised by the guides lack in enthusiasm and clear frustration. Serious mood killer when one nice woman dared ask a question. The guide actually said “I explained this earlier…” and let it hang in the air.
The guest was kind enough to apologetically explain that she must have been focused on feeding the previous animal, but never did get a real answer.
In another situation a guest was asked if they wanted to hold a chicken and hesitated, taking a step back shaking her head saying “oh, ummm” before the bird was thrust at her. Thankfully she seemed to deal with it okay. But it was awkward for me as a bystander.

We volunteered here and so got the tour for free. The location is nicely maintained and very beautiful. The animals are all friendly and fun to feed. Our 12 year old son loved this.

Such a beautiful, magical place. I am so glad these sweet rescued animals get to live out the remainder of their lives surrounded by love, nature, and peace.

Had the opportunity to go to see the sanctuary. What an awesome environment for a farm rescue. An inspiring woman, Laurelee owns and runs the place. I was more than impressed by her drive and passion to take care of the animals. I’m sure most of my charitable giving will go here.

Absolutely incredible! The animals are so happy, are free to roam, and you can snuggle them. The grounds are beautiful. We especially loved the turkeys, Guinea pigs, and donkeys. Thank you for rescuing these sweet animals and for everything you do for them.

A must visit while in Maui, if you love cuddling animals this is the place for you, so many happy animals that love humans or maybe just the food your given to feed them… 😜 we learned a lot about the animals and how we can better look after them and protect them by farming practices and the foods we consume. It is a very vegan friendly place and you may think twice about eating chicken, Turkey, pork or beef after your visit… regardless you will leave even happier then when you arrived.
Haiku Mill is a stunning wedding venue with well-maintained grounds and plenty of interesting features to explore. Despite some initial difficulty finding the location, visitors praise its beauty and unique charm. The venue's rustic yet elegant atmosphere makes it a top choice for weddings and events, with many noting that it requires minimal additional decor due to its natural allure. The team at Haiku Mill is also commended for their professionalism and assistance in creating dream events.
Absolutely beautiful venue! We attended a wedding here and had a wonderful time. The grounds are so well taken care of, and there’s so many interesting things to see. I will say that the marker on Google Maps was incorrect when we first tried to find it (like on the opposite side of the road and a 1/4 of a mile away), but we tried to correct this on Google. Absolutely gorgeous place for a wedding or event ☺️

One of the most beautiful places on earth to get married. Chelsea and her team (Kate) were amazing to work with and the day was a dream. You don't need a single flower or prop for the Mill, it truly is breathtaking on its own.

Beautiful and inspirational! Please visit and support this arts center in Upcountry. The gallery, grounds and history are a fantastic experience. This is 50 minutes away from Kaanapali and a very quick drive. Great information from Sharona, who is lovely. Check online for many art classes. Enjoy!

Small and unique art studio and gift shop. The grounds, buildings are just as interesting as the studio and gift shop.

This is a wonderful upcountry spot to peruse local art & visit artist studios (when they’re open). The gallery & grounds are free but they do ask for donations. The mural room in the main house and the 2 giant Monkeypod trees up front were our favorite spots. Sitting under the trees and admiring the views was an exceptional upcountry experience. It would be a lovely spot for a quiet picnic.

The art center is a wonderful part of the Upcountry community and offers more than just classes. They host unique events throughout the year, to bring awareness and enjoyment to the general public. For example, the recent Forest Bathing Green Walks with Phyllis Look that introduced this natural practice here on Maui. The Hui No’eau is a treasured resource for us all.

Ho‘okipa Beach, situated on the North Shore of Maui, offers a picturesque setting with its white sandy beach and breathtaking waves that are perfect for windsurfing. The area is also renowned for its sea turtles, which can be spotted along the shore in the evenings. It is one of the most popular places to witness different turtle breeds on the island.
We were passing by early in the morning on the road to Hana and we stopped by for a quick look. It was some thing to see the gigantic waves rolling in and the beautiful water. It is definitely worth a stop for a quick look to see some surfers trying their luck out on these huge waves. We are not surfers but I understand this is a very popular spot for surfing on Maui and although it was quite early we could see if there were already a number of surfers heading out.

Beautiful! A lot of turtles!!!! If you like to watch waves crash on rocks this is a great place to be.

Nice beach, windy, big waves for surfing, sand is not as soft compare to the beaches on the west coast.
Hawaii green turtles are here at sunset, cannot get too close. parking is free.

My partner and I got so lucky to come to Maui when we did because there were soooo many sea turtles that I never wanted to leave this beach. It has some amazing rock formations and is very family friendly. I hope I return some day to see the sea turtles lay their eggs or their babies hatch! Also, if you’re a windsurfer it’s an amazing place to surf on a windy day.
Robert Hollon — Google review
We stopped here briefly in the afternoon and we were so excited to see the turtles. There is a viewing place from above the beach so you can get a great view of the turtles without disturbing them. It looked like easy snorkeling because of the way the cove was shaped the waves weren’t crashing on the one side of the beach. Nice shaded picnic area with bathrooms too.

Amazing experience! We watched sea turtles laying eggs on the beach. Bucket list item for sure!

This was one of our favorites to visit as there were probably 30 or so large turtles resting on the beach. If you’ve never seen a sea turtle up close, it is worth doing at least once. The size of these majestic creatures is something that can only be appreciated by seeing them in person. Keep your distance from the turtles.

I really wanted to see turtles during our trip to Maui, so we headed up to this beach after a tip from a friend that it’s a great spot to see them, and were not disappointed! Even late morning, which is not usually the best time, several dozen of them were sunning themselves on shore. So fun to watch. Really big waves here, good for surfing but not for swimming, nice sandy beach to walk on.
Kristin D — Google review
This is a really nice beach and you can see lots of turtles here. I don’t know if it is a good place for snorkeling or not.
I give it four stars for a reason. I do a lot of google reviews and I need to take a good picture of the objects that I’m going to review.
When I was taking these pictures I found myself so close to the line to pass but I was far enough from the turtles around 5-6 feet away while a lot of surfers were easily passing the line and walk through the shore to surf from that specific spot while there was other spots at the same beach that they could start surfing from there, anyway one of the surfers started talking rudely to me while she passed the line with her child before me getting even close to that point and sitting there getting ready to surf!
I was upset and responded back to her that I’m doing exactly what she’s doing and her excuse was they’re surfing!
Nowhere on the sign excludes surfers from others. So if it’s a rule it’s for everyone and there is no exclusion.

Stopped to check out the turtles and surfers. Nice beach parking is at a premium.

1/2/2023 and the surf is 6-10 foot with about 12 foot sets. Amazing view where you can take an very easy trail to a huge rock right on the water. Even saw some albino pigeons

A wonderful beach! Lots of people surfing and other wind sports! Great waves!! It was neat to see the turtles and we had the extra special treat of seeing a monk seal! Thankfully there was a volunteer there helping to educate others about staying far enough away! Well worth stopping. There are multiple places with stairs down to the beach from the lower parking lot. There is a lot of parking, but seemed quite busy. There is a lifeguard on duty.

We stumbled upon this great find. I could watched the numerous huge turtles, the surfers, kite surfers and wind surfers for hours! There was plenty of parking in the lot just up from the beach area. I would park there and walk down to see the turtles versus fighting the traffic going down . Plus it’s better to watch the surfers from the upper area

I enjoy coming here and watching the surfers show off their skills. It is pretty impressive to see some of the moves they can do.
There are sandy areas but overall rocky. This is probably one of the best beaches to surf.

THE place to see Green Sea Turtles! Just be sure to give them their space as they frolic and nap amongst the surfers (who are also cool to see in action!). Also a great place to see some frigates. The scenery is amazing. Worth the stop!
