The Tokorozawa Aviation Museum is a fascinating museum that showcases the history of flight and aviation in Japan. It features an impressive collection of biplanes, military aircraft, and exhibits that are both educational and entertaining. Although some interactive activities like simulators are currently closed due to COVID-19, there is still plenty to see and do at the museum. The English signage provides helpful information about most of the planes on display, making it easy for visitors to understand their significance.
Small but very cool museum! The signs for the displays are all in Japanese, but thats nothing Google translate can't fix! A lot of the more interactive activities aren't available due to COVID, but there was still plenty to see and do.

Nice museum but not too big - only 8-9 planes indoor and the Commando outside. Unfortunately, the museum covers only post war planes. So, no Zero and other famous (and brilliant) japanese made planes from WW2.
Overall, the ride from DT Tokyo is quite long (90min per way) and I wouldn’t invest that much time for this again.

A great museum with lots of aircrafts ✈️
Even though I am not a big fan of aircraft, I had a well spent afternoon there with their flight simulations and activities!

Very nice place with nice collection of aircraft with hands on experience. They have a small movie theatre as well.
With the ticket you can have a re-entry as food is not allowed inside.
Huge park outside the museum.

A great museum with many aircraft of display.
The exhibits were very interactive and you got to fly 2 different flight simulators.
If you only speak English there isn’t too much to help but it’s very straightforward and you can figure it out without being able to read the signs.
Great gift shop as well!

Good museum on the history of flight from the earliest human endeavors to ballooning, the Wright Brothers up to the present. Lots of information on Japanese aviation and it’s origins in the Tokorozawa area. Staff were friendly and very helpful.

Nice museum with lots of info on aviation & interactive section for kids & adults. There's a workshop & a show for those who came early. Big space park outside the museum to go for a walk or rest & enjoy with the cafe just next door.

A fun museum on the history of flight, and flight in Japan. Plenty of planes and exhibits. A few simulators are still closed because of COVID-19. Good English signage for most of the planes. Do try the low gravity simulator. Tickets to the movie theater are an optional extra. Not far from the train station.
The Tokorozawa Aviation Memorial Park is a fantastic destination suitable for all types of visitors. It features tranquil winding paths shaded with verdant foliage, as well as tennis courts and an athletics field. The park also boasts a teahouse and museum that showcases vintage planes, making it an ideal spot for aviation enthusiasts. There are plenty of recreational options such as running/walking and biking routes, sports fields and basketball courts.
Very friendly park with lots of facilities, big playgrounds and a water playing area. You can feel local life here quietly.

This park celebrates the first avian runway in Japan. You will encounter various types of aircrafts that are displayed in some open spaces. Those who are not interested in aircraft’s can also enjoy the park. A flight simulator is available.

Great park! Lots of space to sit, run, play. Has the aviation museum within where they have a small restaurant and a cinema that shows aviation related videos. Lots of green to just spread a sheet and chill out. Has two half basketball courts, badminton court, jogging tracks, about 3-4 car parking lots (first 2 hours free, and 100 yen from the next). Open 24 hours but I think the car parking has timings. Easily accessible and connected to Kokukoen station if you're using public transportation.

Awesome park with something for everyone. Lots of beautiful old growth trees, fields, running/walking and biking routes, sports fields, basketball courts, large children's playground area, and peaceful gardens/pond, and a few food trucks.
Plenty of drinking fountains for people and pets alike throughout the park.
We've seen periodical swap/flea market.
Multiple parking areas that are free for the first couple hours any day of the week.
General park area seems to be accessible 24/7 with free admission.

Very wide open park with an aviation related museum and many other things to see. Nice during cherry blossom season. Parking for fee for cars, but motorcycles can park for free in dedicated parking area next to northern ‘museum’ car parking. Motorcycles can enter to the left (when entering) of the car parking gate. Exit from the same lane.

Big park for Japan! During Cherry Blossom season it is quite full and popular. This use to be an old airport, hence there is so much space. I especially like running near the small pond. There are small festivals and events held here throughout the year too.
Sayama Lake is a picturesque location that is ideal for leisurely walks and birdwatching. It features an intake tower and dam, as well as stunning views of the majestic Mount Fuji. The area is known for its scenic beauty and attracts many visitors who come to appreciate the natural surroundings. With its tranquil waters, lush greenery, and diverse wildlife, Sayama Lake offers a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.
I really like this place. It's a place for cycling, a place to take photos, sit and admire the view, and relax. I came here to bike 20 kilometers with a friend. Alone but I don't feel lonely at all.
Pat Jirapat — Google review
Sayama Lake, originally called Yamaguchi Lake, is a man-made reservoir that was built using an earthen dam, which was completed in 1929. Due to a lack of heavy earth-moving equipment in Japan at that time, the dam was constructed mostly by farmers who used picks and shovels. The majority of the workers were farmers hired to do the work after the growing season had come to a close. A total of 1,720 villagers were forced to leave their homes to make way for the dam as demand for fresh water increased with a population explosion in Tokyo.
During WWII, the embankment of the dam was reinforced with ballistic-resistant concrete and the towers were reinforced with a bullet-proof exterior as measures against the Tokyo air raids.
The design of the intake towers was heavily influenced by the trends of western architecture that were poplar in Japan in the early 20th century, as can be seen by the use of red bricks on the exterior, copper roofing, and artistic design elements above the doorway to the tower's interior. Although the bridge is currently painted white, early color photos from many decades ago show a bridge painted in a copper-red coat of paint, which makes it look like a miniature version of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.
On the occasion that the reservoir is partially drained for maintenance work on the water intake towers, remnants of the villages that were submerged can still be seen.
Since the reservoir is used to provide fresh water to the residents of Tokyo, the lake itself is off limits to any human activity in the water: no swimming, no boating, no fishing, etc. The hills surrounding the lake are also off limits. Except for the promenade running across the top of the dam, high fencing with several bands of barbwire encircle the rest of the hills that feed water into the lake. The lack of human access has created a small oasis of natural habitat where various species of insects, birds, mammals and flora can flourish.

A good nature experience on the outskirts of Tokyo. Avoid going when there's a baseball game on at the stadium if possible.
Sayama Lake, and it's neighbor Tama, Lake - are reservoirs on the edge of Tokyo proper. It takes you about an hour to get there from the city centre.
There is a great viewpoint on the lake's eastern side where you can enjoy the view of the lake, the surrounding forest areas and the mountains in the background.
It's possible (and in my view recommended) to walk around the entire lake. The walk takes about three to four hours, depending on your speed. My recommendation would be to walk clockwise. That way, you start off with the busier, paved segments that you will share with cyclists and then move onto gravel paths. Here, you only have to share with the many bird and photography enthusiasts whose camera and lenses probably cost more than my flat.
Close to the lake, there is Belluna Dome, home to the Saitama Seibu Lions baseball team. Word of warning: the area can get extremely busy on game days.

This place is worth visiting! Its view is pleasing to the eye and so relaxing. I wrote about this on my blog (thepinayajumma.com). Please check it out. I would have given it a 5-star rate if it wasn’t for the accessibility. It’s accessible by train but tricky to get there from the station. I think more English signs should be put up for clear guidance.

First time to see dome tour concert and it sounded so far away. Not sure if it is the nature of dome concert or because it is an open air dome or because we were sitting at the edge. The stage feels ok even we were almost at the end of the hall but binocular would help a lot if you wanna see the artist.
Lot of food shops outside but kinda bad mostly.
Toilet was a disaster with super long queue.
We leaved quite early just before the concert ended so we successfully escaped the super pack train on the way back.

Fun stadium but it's a bit out of the way. It's a trek to get to from Kanagawa, but there is good food and beer here. I recommend bringing a fan because it's stuffy under the roof. There is ample parking about an 8 minute walk, but the train station exit is at the gates to the stadium.
The stadium takes credit card at basically every kiosk and there are plenty of bathrooms. The atmosphere for the game was alright, but not stellar. It's worth the trip if you want to see the Lions play.

Excellent place for a stadium! In Japan almost all big events are somewhat ruined because of the traffic and the sheer amount of people, not the Belluna Dome. This place is in a great location. I was able to drive to the game 20 mins early park with no problem, left when the game ended and there was no traffic, I was shocked. The stadium is somewhat small but not too small. Everything about this dome is great! I will surely be going again :)

Ah yes, the truly wonderful Metlife (now named Belluna) Dome.
I came here for a concert in early March 2023. It did not rain so that's great, but it can get really cold in both the arena and stands. I've heard from others that when it rains, the rain comes in through the sides and you can get rained on, not great.
The biggest issue anyone will tell you about this venue is how out-of-the-way it is. It's one of the terminating stops on the Seibu Line, and the Seibu Line is the only line that connects this venue with the main Tokyo city. So, what happens when a few thousand or a few tens of thousands of people try to get back to the city at the same time, on the only train line out of the location? Yeah. The time to get back to the city on an express train is about 40 minutes.
Ryan Tan — Google review
Seats were comfortable (Section 106). The hike up to the top and then all the steps down can be arduous. Try to go through main walkway to section rather than around the outside loop.
No breeze, so the heat & humidity stay under the Dome roof.

Our visit to Belluna/Seibu Dome in Japan for a baseball game was an unforgettable experience. The atmosphere struck a perfect balance between fun and laid-back. The presence of food vendors outside the stadium entrance added to the excitement, and the friendly and relaxed security measures made us feel welcome. Inside, we found an array of food options, souvenir vendors, and a team store. The stadium's layout, complete with maps, made it easy to navigate and explore all the drink and food offerings. Meeting the mascots and taking photos with them added to the charm of the place. Our seats were fantastic, providing a great view just a couple of rows behind the left field fence. Overall, our visit exceeded our expectations in every way. The stadium itself was beautiful and well-maintained, and we felt safe throughout our time there. We're eagerly looking forward to coming back for another game.

Went to Gaga's show. The show was outstanding, one of a kind.
The venue has lots to improve. The sound was very good (much better than Tokyo Dome). The food stands are all kinda trashy and the food was not particularly good. The line for the women's toilets was INSANE.
MAIN ISSUE: access. This venue is owned by a train company, yet it is a mess to access using public transport. For this reason I really hope I NEVER have to go back to Belluna. Tokyo Dome and Saitama Super Arena are much better venues due to their location.

Dome stadium where you walk up ramps to find your aisle, which aren't numbered immediately due to outfield seating that's probably unreserved. Some seats are little picnic tables which is nice to spread out a meal/snacks.
Seibuen Amusement Park offers a nostalgic experience with its Shōwa era theme. The park features a variety of classic rides and attractions, including a Godzilla attack ride and an Astro Boy attraction based on the popular Osamu Tezuka manga. In addition to retro classics, visitors can enjoy modern amenities such as a lazy river, wave pool, and water slides during the summer months. The park also hosts lively water battles during the day and captivating fireworks displays in the evening.
Kids wanna check out the 銭天堂 event and they enjoyed it.
The main entrance is the only place that has a shaded area. The pool side was not opened yet because the summer break has not started.
It was fun showing kids a lot of retro games that we used to play. Overall it was pretty good but the weather was way too hot. Need to bring lots sunscreens and water.

Newly renovated Seibuen amusement park is now post war, showa themed. They've added a small street full of very small vendors. The price is steep at ¥4,400 per adult. Not only that, everything in the park is monopoly money ONLY so you are forced to prepay to purchase food and souvenirs ahead of time. Once you enter, you realize there is a line for absolutely everything, even to enter the stores. Be aware there isn't much inside so be careful not to get too much monopoly money. You can buy more once inside, if you need it. We were stuck with 200 tokens at the end of the day, which isn't enough to buy anything, but is worth $2 in real life.
We waited almost two hours just to have a drink and sandwich in the cafe. I suggest eating before/after the park and only snack inside. You will have to wait in line for EVERYTHING.
The only ride worth lining up for is the Godzilla ride, but is the park worth the price? Absolutely not. The many retro museums throughout Tokyo city is so much better that this place is just a huge cash grab scam.
Not to mention, they are intolerant of tattoos. Good thing it was fall and I had mine covered. If it were up to me, I would never give any more money to this company ever again. What a shame because I use to come here monthly when I was little.

This place is a great example of 1960s Japan lifestyle. It is both adult and kid friendly. Lots of clean public bathrooms and places to grab a bite. The park actors were phenomenal. And both the Godzilla ride and the viewing tower were exceptional. It's a good day trip for the family.

Nice place to pay a visit with family! Cool playground for kids. We want to watch the Godzilla show, but they could not allow kids below 4 year’s old. Our kid was pretty sad and crying all the time. The facilities over there are pretty old, but the staff are pretty friendly and awesome. The street shows in the market are really great, and we really enjoyed the show. However, if you want to purchase food or drinks in the stores, you need to purchase 遊園地currencies at the 郵便局 in the market. It is really annoying and inconvenient. The parking fee was also expensive and so as the tickets, so I do remind you to think it again if you want to come here.

Since I know there’s a Godzilla the ride , is a must go , the entrance fee is ¥4,300 and you need to pay for park money like monopoly’s. And if you are not able to spend it all the same day , you can’t use it after.
Beside Godzilla the ride is not worth it for this price, Is a big park but too old with games mostly for children, the pools are not working and there’s only one restaurant and you need to wait a long time to eat in cause the pandemic even with a few people inside the park this day. So If you are seeking for a wild roller coasters this is not the one.

It’s an old style amusement park themed to showa era, there are only a few rides more for kids, no major coasters. What saves this place now is the Godzilla / Ultraman ride and the Main shopping street atmosphere performers, Showa era theming and shows. There is a park scrip currency but you can also use electronic payments (ic cards , credit cards etc) not forced to use it. Think overpriced for what is offered but if it’s your first time it’s OK. Some themed Godzilla food. Note you can’t leave the park officially and come back unless you have a good excuse. There is convenience store a few hundred meters outside the park.

I visited Seibuen in late July on a Thursday with a group of friends. After reading some other reviews I was a little worried, but we had an amazing time! The staff were so nice and made us feel welcome by speaking to us in English or simple Japanese. Some tips:
1) Go on a weekday if possible. We didn't have to wait for any of the rides or water slides, it was great.
2) Make sure to attend the Boogie Woogie Festival at noon in the little town. The dancers/actors are phenomenal. You can find the show times under エンターテインメントショーon the website.
3) The pool area and park have different opening/closing times. These change often so it's best to check the website section 営業時間.
4) You will not be allowed in the park if you have a visible tattoo. One of our party had a small tattoo so they simply hid it with clothing. You can even wear a shirt in the pool.
5) The park area forces you to use their 'monopoly money'. But you can use regular yen at some vending machines and in the pool area where there are food trucks.
6) In the pool area there is almost no shade so it is best to bring a tent. You should also bring your own floaties for the pool/lazy river. You can buy some at the park but it's very expensive. There are beach-style showers and a changeroom.

Came here just for Godzilla and it was totally worth the trip to Saitama. We arrived at 4 and the tickets were half off so that was nice. Keep in mind some rides were closing soon after 4 so if you plan to go on everything, plan to come earlier than that as there was a long line for Godzilla.

Great park loved it. Great rides but long lines.
Your tattoo rule l seriously stupid.
It's the reason for the many negative reviews.
I have zero tattoos so I don't care.. But seriously you're not a sento.
More food choices would have been great as 60 mins to get lunch was a little frustrating. The Godzilla ride was awesome but 90 mins lines were crazy.
More hot dogs and finger food needed.
Staff were great but I felt they needed more to manage the crowds.
Sumner would be great here as many of the rides mainly the park are geared for water rides. Buy the express pass if going on weekend. Will save you lining up for hours.

Overall a bit smaller than expected but not a bad way to spend a few hours. In a nice hilly area near a major baseball stadium. Highlight of the park is definitely the theatre where you can experience a large screen viewing of a short video while seated in a machine that moves in reaction to the scenes played.

The best attraction here is the Godzilla, you can ride as much as you want. It's not crowded because of the pandemic. If you go there by car, it will cost you ¥1800 for the parking lot, but you can go also by train, there is a station directly in the park . To enter the park you will pay¥4400, and additional payment for the park's money that you will use for buying foods, items, and for games also. The rides are mostly for kids. ¥600=50 seibuen money.
A very good local shrine that's not crowded like the big ones

First thing should do : Register online before you go. Make a reservation!!!
Two sections on everyday. Morning and afternoon. I prefer a relax one , not rushing in morning time . That’s the reason I picked the afternoon section.
This was nice visiting this place. The staff there provide small game, help to check out every bit around the place.

It is not well known, but the fish shop (Uoriki) in Gran Emio has fresh products! Ropia has less sushi 🍣 but it is very fresh. Mr. Uoriki here is also a fresh fish store, so I think I can recommend sushi 🍣 and sashimi assortments! Vegetables are also available from Yaoichi, so it's safe ~ There are cheap vegetables ☺️ Mummy Mart Yamaguchi store also has them! There are times when the fishmonger of Gran Emio here often sells yellowtail (head part) cheaply. Sometimes it's around ¥150, and there are other supermarkets that put the ribs under the pack and sell it for around ¥400. Let's reduce costs by simmering etc. ☺️ Postscript May 23, 2023 The Grand Emio Tokorozawa store offers fresh seafood in the neighborhood, but if you go a little further, you can also find the TAIRAYA Higashikurume store with more products. If you want fresh seafood, I recommend Nakajima Suisan in Kokubunji Marui's underground dining hall.

Finally...the renovation is finished. It has been a pain walking around when it was in construction.
There's a direct entrance from the Tokorozawa station with it's own pass/ticket gate.
Beautiful and spacious. I noticed this mall to have more artsy/prettyshops. There's Francfranc, Afternoon tea,Kiitos and a few high end bag/luggage shop. It doesn't look a lot but maybe because it's as big as I thought it was.
Uni Qlo, Starbucks and the amazing restaurant downstairs are the popular ones.
It has a passport office in the 4th, I heard.
Outside is where you can take limousine buses to the airports.

A four-story commercial facility with more than 120 tenants. It is convenient because there are food, clothing, drug stores, general stores, city hall service corners, etc. The restaurant has Toko Marche on the 1st floor and Toko Table on the 3rd floor. At the Central Plaza, which connects the central ticket gate and the south ticket gate, there is an atrium and natural light pours in from the glass ceiling. Going from Prefectural Route 55, when I passed through a curve and the view opened up, a green wall (embankment?) appeared and I got excited. There is a bicycle parking lot and a sign prohibiting bicycles on the promenade. I got out of the car, pushed it, and finally carried it up the stairs. Well, I was riding my bike normally on the embankment... The scenery is very nice. Speaking of Lake Sayama, the cute water intake tower (this was my first visit) was blocked by the waterworks bureau, so I couldn't get close to it. Shin-Tokorozawa PARCO is a delightful shopping destination where customers can find a variety of items including groceries, toiletries, and clothing. This mall houses three well-known Japanese retailers, GU, UniQlo, and Muji, making it convenient for shoppers to navigate their way through different stores. Additionally, there is a decent-sized Starbucks and an organic market on the lower level. Movie enthusiasts will be pleased to discover a theater on the top floor.
This particular Parco in Shin-Tokorozawa is actually the first department store that I enjoyed shopping in and exploring from the topmost floor to the basement. The selection of stores and services is good so chances are you would be able to find what you need to buy. It even has Sekaido and Muji which I think are pretty rare to find in inaka Saitama.

Always very pleasant to shop. I buy most of my go to items here such as groceries, toiletries and clothes.
GU
UniQlo
Muji
3 of Japans bigger retailers in one roof are easy to navigate and a decent size Starbucks and organic market downstairs.
Lucky for movie lovers who cant go downtown...there's theater on the last floor.
Don don on Wednesday is good for vintage clothes hunters.
4 star because the escalator location is confusing...as well as the elevator from upstairs.

Great place to shop. It offers a wide variety of choices from clothing apparel, shoes, accessories it also has bookstores, school supplies shop and those people who love to make some DIY items can find a lot of different new stuff. Come and visit this mall and enjoy shopping and dining. It has a lot of variety of restaurants and fast food chains. 👋😊

A regular (but huge) department/supermarket store. Lots of things to do and is all we need to do our weekly food shop and look for some nice clothes to wear. The toilets are very clean and the staff are very polite. The PARCO department store is conjoined with Let's, making the store even bigger.

Sayama Indoor Skiing Ground is a great place to experience skiing and snowboarding without having to travel to a mountain. The facility offers wide runs for sledding, snowboarding, and skiing along with equipment rentals and classes for kids. Though the length of the ski may be shorter than expected, the rental service provides everything necessary for a day on the slopes at reasonable prices.
Easy to access via train. Fun place to spend your day if you know snow boarding or ski. Kids can enjoy at snow park in same premise. They have rentals for ski, snow boards, clothes and everything required for snow sports. It has 2 levels . They give training as well.
They have food area as well.

It was really exciting time. Me and my parents enjoyed skiing for about 3 hours. There are some instructors that are very kind. Great place for beginners and mid class because the slope was not steep

I don’t know if this place is more crowded on holidays/weekends but we went on a regular weekday and it was very empty. No waiting line for anything.
This place is good for absolute beginners to get a feel for the snow and get the basic knowledge of snowboarding or skiing. Not recommended for higher level skiers, as it doesn’t offer any challenge at all.

Service was amazing and so was the rentals. Only problem was that it was just too much money I spent 10,000 yen for a day pass and rentals this may not seem much but in japan this could buy like 2 weeks worth of groceries. Slope was great but there isn't much room for beginners like myself and considering that there were highly skilled people it made it hard to get the feel off it. Overall this place is great but there are better options in turns of price.

Would be much better if 1 more slope is designed for the most beginning learners. & translating machine available for instructor.

Really easy to get therefrom Tokyo n just took 1.5 hrs from Minato city. Great facilities, one day ski or snow board was only 4000 yen per person but if you rent ski set n shoes n dress its again 4500 per person n gloves do not include in it.
Food in the truck was bit high price 1100 yen for ramen was way too much
600yen for crape ...rice was about 1000yen. But the snow was cool, supper fun great activities for kids even very small ones. Like 1yrs.

good place specially for beginners who want to practice ski or snowboard👍really kids friendy.there is only 3 foodtrucks when we went there so for me its also advisable to bring your own food and have picnic on the side or if you are lucky you can find a table.👍👍

Review coming from a beginner. The service is pretty good but the length of ski is rather short. The ice is not so soft so hurts a bit when you are doing for the first time and keep falling, but as you get the hang of it, it's fun. Rental service available 4200 yen for clothes shoes and board. 3100 for 4 hour pass. Overall if someone wants to experience skiing without going to a mountain it's great.

I live in Hachioji (west Tokyo) and it took us only a 30 minute drive to get there. Parking costs 1800 yen, all nighter (10 pm to 6 am) tickets cost 3500 yen per person. We have equipment, but they do have a rental shop there as well available for customers. They have several sized lockers for storage, and we chose one that cost us 500 yen, but was big enough to hold 2 people's backpacks.
I think this is an excellent option for ski practice in between ski trips or even off season (I'm not sure if they're open all year long, worth checking in their website), but the made up "snow" is VERY icy and hard, and has quite a different feeling than real piste snow, which might make it hard to learn for beginners., also they lack flat areas (the day we went it was really busy, so whoever wanted to learn/practice on the bottom of the slope, which is tiny, was out of luck, since there was always plenty of people arriving there from the highest point of the slope).
I'd really recommend it for intermediate/advanced skiers/snowboarders in between ski trips, for having some fun near Tokyo!
