I recently had the pleasure of going on an elephant ride and experiencing an elephant bath and feeding session, and it was an incredible and unforgettable experience. The interaction with these majestic creatures allowed me to connect with nature in a unique and meaningful way.
It was an incredible opportunity to witness the beauty of nature up close and personal.
After the ride, I had the chance to engage in an elephant bath and feed, which was equally as amazing. Getting into the water with these magnificent animals was both thrilling and humbling. Watching them happily splash around and play in the water was a joy to behold.
Feeding the elephants was another highlight of the experience. Being able to offer them their favorite treats and seeing their appreciation and gratitude was heartwarming. It was incredible to witness their intelligence and gentle nature as they carefully took the food from my hand. It truly felt like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Overall, the elephant ride, bath, and feeding session was an incredible adventure that I will cherish for a lifetime. It allowed me to connect with nature and these magnificent creatures in a way that I never thought possible. If you have the opportunity, I highly recommend participating in an elephant ride and bath experience. It is an unforgettable journey into the world of these gentle giants, and it will leave you with memories that will last a lifetime.

Visiting the Elephant Junction in Thekkady was an unforgettable experience! The ride on the majestic elephants through the lush forest was a truly breathtaking adventure. The park staff were friendly and knowledgeable, providing us with information about these amazing animals and their habitat. The park is well-maintained and the elephants are treated with care and respect. I highly recommend visiting the Elephant Junction for anyone looking for an up-close and personal encounter with these magnificent creatures. It's definitely a must-visit on your next trip to Thekkady!"

Visited last week with my family, one person has received us and explained about different packages, he was expecting that we will take a big package, but we opted only for an elephant ride with 3 members, we have waited more than 30 minutes to start the ride, hardly 15 minutes ride for Rs.500 per person. There are only 6 elephants and they shuttle continuously with our any rest to them, really felt bad, after the ride they organised a photo session for us in between 2 elephants, that was a good part..may be it is nice for small children...not recommended for adults...

Had an amazing experience at Elephant Junction. It was my first time experiencing these mammoths this close. There are 4 female elephants at Elephant Junction which were rescued from circus and are now taken care at this facility. They offer elephant ride - which is a short 20-25mins ride through the plush cardamom plantations. They also have an option to bath the elephant and have a bath with the elephant. What I specifically liked about this place is that they always give priority to the animals and not the tourists. All these animals are well taken care of at this facility. If in Thekkady, this place should not be missed.

Had a wonderful experience at this tourist attraction in Thekkady. The elephants are clearly well looked after by the staff and a great relationship is clearly witnessed between animals and people. Very natural environment and a pleasure to have been here.

Nice place. The rides are nice but a little costly in the amount of money they charge. Sometimes the wait times are almost an hour or more but those who love animal rides, it's worth it. The elephants looked old and likely because they will be less aggressive than the younger ones. Safe rides and will be a fun with family. The staff was friendly and they provided all requested information.

If you’re visiting Thekkady you must visit Elephant junction. Make sure that you put this on your to do list. You won’t regret it. The place is well maintained, very clean and hygienic. All the staff (and when I say staff I would also like to include the elephants) are very friendly, helpful and very kind. They really made sure that we have fun and also connect with the elephants. A lot of information regarding elephants was also shared during the whole visit which I really appreciate. It was an amazing experience and I would recommend it to everyone who is planning to visit Thekkady.
P.S Make sure you carry an extra pair of clothes if you’re going to go for the elephant bath.

Elephant Junction, Thekkady is a wonderful place to visit if you love elephants and want to interact with them. It is located in Kumily, near Thekkady, and offers various activities such as elephant rides, feeding, bathing, and showering. You can choose from different packages depending on your time and budget.
I visited Elephant Junction with my wife and we had a lovely time. The staff was very courteous and helpful, and they provided us with all the necessary equipment and instructions. We opted for the 30-minute ride, which was very enjoyable and relaxing. We got to see the natural beauty of the area and feel the gentle breeze. The elephants were very friendly and well-trained, and they seemed to enjoy our company as well. We had a lot of fun taking pictures with them and admiring their beauty.
The price was reasonable for the quality and duration of the experience. We paid INR 500 per person, which was worth every rupee. The park was clean and well-maintained, and they followed all the safety and hygiene protocols. We did not face any issues or problems during our visit.
Overall, we had a fantastic time at Elephant Junction, Thekkady and we would highly recommend it to anyone who loves elephants and wants to have a memorable experience with them. It is a perfect place to visit with your spouse, and it will make you appreciate the beauty and intelligence of these gentle giants. It is a must-do activity in Thekkady.

The best place in Kerala, maybe India, to spend time close to elephants. You can ride, feed bananas, watch them carry timber, bath them and finally have a clean shower from the trunk.
Staff are very kind and knowledgeable. Elephants are healthy, happy, no chains.
If you take the elephant bath and shower, the staff provide a clean towel, a plastic bag for wet clothes and a place to change and wash yourself. Excellent service. Can take tea or coffee afterwards in the little pavilion and enjoy the quiet.
Whole place in a quiet peaceful forest outside of Kumily Thekkady has a magical atmosphere. I hope to return next year.

A place to experience elephant by seeing them doing timber lift, elephant ride, feeding feeding an elephant and shower with them. Plus, you get a chance to get photos clicked with elephant.
I believe they got three elephants and you will interact with one elephant while any of the activity.
They have package for above mentioned activities starting from 500 for an elephant ride to 2500
We did Timber only package for 750 which includes timber lift, feeding elephant, photo session, and a tea or coffee. Personally, I don't like elephant ride.
We had great experience here. Although, the ticket price might look little higher but one way the money go towards elephants day to day needs also.
Will I recommend it? : YES with minimum 1 hour in hand for this activity. Kids will fully enjoy here.

Elephants are the most amazing creatures and despite these being in captivity, they looked happy and content. The trek was cool, and being able to be close to these creatures is a special experience. The staff were friendly and the price for a ride (500 INR) was fair.

One of the Elephant safari camp in thekkady which is privately maintained. But the costing for basic elephant ride seems high (Rs. 500 / person and goes upto Rs. 2500 for a package) and the time for the ride is very less. Max 10 mins.
Not sure about the other elephant camps in thekkady about their pricing.. But this one is not so worthy for the cost.
Green Park Spices is a sustainable agricultural residence that encourages the belief in obtaining everything from a piece of land. This ecosystem, managed by Benny, is well-maintained and offers accurate details on its agriculture. Visitors who are open to exploring the nuances of this agricultural practice will find it insightful and enjoyable. The botanical garden also offers tours that are highly recommended for anyone staying in Thekkady. Despite potential closures due to COVID-19, visitors can knock on the door for assistance.
An unforgettable experience. We thought it was closed because of COVID as no one was in the counter, but knocked the door and they responded. Highly recommended. The tour is really insightful and enjoyable. Definitely a must do during a stay in Thekkady!

Fantastic Place!
This was the second spice garden we visited in Thekaddy, only this one is actually a garden. The owner and guide was VERY informative and interesting. So many varieties of plants and we were able to try many of them.
Unlike the other spice place, this location does not have a hard sell at the end to buy their produces, although we still did because the quality is obviously much better than in the town vendors.

Spending an hour here at Green Park with Benny chettan was a an eye opener for me and my family. Benny chettan introduced us to the true benefits of those fauna around us which we often neglect carelessly. He has an in depth knowledge about the origins and benefits of the varied ayurvedic and spice plants in his farm. His 2 acre farm is a best example for sustainable farming. Good place to spend an hour's time with family. Especially for those nature enthusiasts. You could park your vehicle here and walk in for a nominal fee.

There's a lot of choice here when it comes to spice gardens, but Green Park Spices is one that is head and shoulders above the rest. They ask 100₹ pp for the tour, but honestly it's worth so much more. You get to feel, smell, taste all the garden has to offer.
There's no push selling at all. After the tour you're free to visit the shop or leave. But I do recommend visiting the shop and buying some spices or ginger candy.
All in all a wonderful and educational experience.

Visited this place based on reviews on Google. It's a 13 acre property. They charge Rs. 100 per adult. Kids are free. Approx 30mins of guided plantation tour. We had 1 guide for 4 adults. Among others, saw figs, cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg, bay leaves, all spice tree, cloves, turmeric, vanilla, cocoa and coffee beans, tamarind trees. The information shared was precious.
They also share taste samples of spices, cashew nuts and chocolates that they sell. We picked up some spices, rates were not too high. They also sell oils and ayurvedic products. You are under no obligation to purchase. Time and money well spent.

How are my parents supposed to arrange for an international courier without these documents! And now Deepa world are completely ignoring my mother's calls and messages. The Mangala Devi Kannagi Temple, located in Kerala, is an ancient temple complex that boasts elevated views of its surroundings. Access to the temple is only granted during the yearly Chitra Pournami festival. This Hindu temple is steeped in history and tradition and attracts many visitors each year who come to witness its grandeur and pay their respects.
Cheran Chenguttuvan, the king of ancient Thamilakam, had erected the temple for Kannagi around 1000 years back at Vannathipaarai and called it 'Kannagi Kottam' or 'Mangaladevi Kannagi temple'.
This is the place, where, Kannaki, a legendary Tamil woman, betrayed all her grudge and transformed herself to be a divine lady (Mangaladevi) showering blessings upon the people on earth.
Hidden in the dense forest of Periyar Tiger Reserve, between Kerala and Tamil Nadu, the Mangaladevi Temple at Thekkady is not just a place for pilgrimage tourism, but a place where you can find the wildness of the forest and the enchanting beauty of the nature.
The temple is located 7 km away from Pazhiyankudi in Theni district and 15 km from Thekkady in Idukki district.
There is a mind boggling legend behind this divine temple of Mangaladevi. Kannagi, the devoted wife of Kovalan, took revenge against killing her innocent husband by accusing him as a thief. It is said that she burnt the whole Madurai city and later she reached the Suruli hills.
Getting inspired from this story, Chera Chenguttuvan, the ancient Tamilakam King, erected this temple of Mangaladevi here. The story of Kannagi was narrated to the Tamil poet, Illango Adigal by Chenguttuvan and later Illango wrote the famous book 'Silappathikaram', the story of Kannagi and Kovalan.
Goddess Mangala is decorated with flowers, silks and poojas are performed. Thali (sacred thread used by married women) and bangles of women is kept for pooja here. This festival is very auspicious for women and the women folk offer pongala (cooked rice) to the Devi. Adequate measures are taken to avoid the disturbance to the eco system with the over crowding of the devotees.
FYI:
The queue for the jeep will be super long by 6:00 AM. You have to reach the private bus stand in kumily near to the tamilnadu border to board the jeep arranged. Private vehicles with 4×4 gear systems will be allowed with a pass. The cost for the trip will be around 150 RS. Will take close to an hour to reach there.
Try not to walk, there is no separate passage for hiking and the roads are in horrible condition, filled with dust and dirt. The jeeps carrying pilgrims rush through those narrow passes making it horrible for trekking. You have to cling uphill through 4 mountains to reach the temple.
Cameras are not permitted without permission, but you can take pics in your mobile.
The queue in the temple is bigger than the one outside. You can skip the queue and visit the monument, if you are not a pilgrimage and don't want to pray.
Carry steel or metal water flask with you, plastic is not allowed in the forest. You will receive food in the form of payasam or thakkalisor in the temple.
The queue will be less in the morning and high towards the afternoon.
It's the only mountain where you can see western ghats of kerala on one side and Tamil Nadu on the other.
There are no information board or facilities available. Do your own research before visiting.
Temple will be open only on the chithirapournami day in the month of April.

The YODHA CULTURAL VILLAGE is a place where you can witness traditional arts and martial art of Kerala in action. You'll be amazed at the skill and athleticism of these performers, as well as the magic they are able to perform. This is an unforgettable experience that you won't want to miss!
What an amazing experience to watch these amazing performers . Used to read about South India culture in books and now experiencing them live.

At this center the culturally rich events makes visiting Thekkady worth while and more enjoyable.
It is advised to get the tickets booked for the evening well in advance so that one gets the front row seats for the event.
Reach half an hour early to see the make up of the Kathakali artists and the stage preparation for 5 to 6 pm show. The process they go through before the performance is very interesting and humbling. It would make you appreciate the dance form and the culture. In the last one gets the opportunity to be photographed with artists.
The same goes for the martial art event from 6 to 7. The effort they take to demonstrate the martial art is just amazing. It is a visual treat.

In one word spectacular.. Both the shows were amazingly performed and entertained us throughout. The spectators/audience were involved and the performers were very humble. The stunts surely gave us goosebumps (hats off to the performers)and it is definitely worth the time and money you spend there. The tickets need to be purchased in advance as it gets housefull in no time. Will highly recommend visiting them and something not to be missed for sure..

When in Thekkady, make sure not to miss out on these captivating shows. We were thoroughly impressed by the remarkable martial arts performance, which stands out as one of the finest we've seen in recent years. Audience participation adds to the excitement, and the opportunity to pose with swords after the show is a memorable touch. Witnessing these indigenous martial arts instills a sense of pride in our Indian heritage. It's truly an experience not to be missed.

It was a good experience for me. I enjoyed both kathakali and martial arts.
Kathkali show is 4 times a day I guess. But martial arts only at evening that is at 6.30 pm
Now let's discuss on kathakali:
I don't have much interest on traditional dance, but dance was exceptional. Awesome expression and trust me I enjoyed the show till the end.
Both the performers were nice , great techniques and flawless execution.
Singer cum gini player was really talented. I wonder how come someone sing so well on high notes
Instrument player was really good at his job. Everything was in perfect rhythm and symphony was unforgettable
Let's discuss on martial Arts:
* stunts were really surprising and sign of bravely
* fearless execution of fireworks
* show started on time , ends on time. Perfect punctuality
*for me It is one of the best experience
Negative Points / Suggestion to owner:
_____________________________________
For the jump event I understand you need more people, thus you invite from crowd.
But it's bad when you force someone to come to ground. It is really bad culture.
It should be voluntary ,whosoever interested you can invite .not like forcing people
This is the only drawback. Please stop doing that
Overall 7/10 for me. No doubt performance was good but other factors are there which is not atall friends
Such no covid appropriate behavior, hardly people wearing mask, place need to be maintenance hygiene conditions.
You are charging good amount, also tourist inflow there .I wonder why no proper hygiene

A Culturally rich event. The artists of both kathakali and kalarippayattu(one of the oldest martial arts form of india) give immense amount of effort in this show. The ticket price for each show is 200 rupees per person and the show time is 1hr for each.we went there on weekday , on that day they had 2shows for kathakali (5pm and 7pm) and Kalarippayattu show timing was 6pm. If the sound system for the kalarippayattu show can be revamped, because it was echoing and the voice was not clear then the experience will be even better (not a major complaint though)

We watched both the Kathakali and Kalaripayittu show at Yodha Cultural Village.
The Kathakali performance was good and the artists performed very well. They also allow photo session with the artists free of cost post the performance.
We were just disappointed when the tabla artists refused to take photo since he was busy taking others photo. We just wanted to show appreciation for all but he seemed very rude.
The Kalaripayittu show started a little slow - we all were confused what’s happening and why artists are coming and going in 2 mins. They show have a detailed explanation to the audience so people know what’s happening.
The show picked up in the 2nd half with amazing stunts and the best part was the fire show. They also invited audience participation which was also good.
All in all, good show but can be choreographed better. All artists are very talented - they can be used better with newer equipment’s.

I recently had the privilege of attending the extraordinary cultural and martial arts show, and it was an experience that left me in awe. The performance showcased the richness and diversity of various cultural traditions, while also demonstrating incredible skill and talent in martial arts.
From the moment I entered the venue, the ambiance was captivating. The stage was beautifully set, adorned with cultural elements that set the tone for the evening. The lighting and sound effects added to the overall immersive experience, creating an atmosphere that transported the audience to different parts of the world.
The show began with a captivating display of traditional dances, showcasing the vibrant costumes and intricate choreography. The performers exuded grace and precision as they moved in sync, telling stories through their movements. Each dance was accompanied by traditional music, further bringing the culture to life.
What truly took my breath away was the martial arts segment of the show. The skilled performers dazzled the audience with their mastery of different martial arts techniques. Their agility, strength, and precision were truly remarkable. It was evident that years of practice and dedication had gone into their training, as every move was executed flawlessly.
The show also incorporated elements of storytelling, enlightening the audience about the historical and cultural significance behind each performance. This not only entertained but also educated the spectators, fostering a deeper appreciation for the art forms being showcased.
The energy throughout the show was infectious, with the performers' passion radiating from the stage, captivating everyone in the audience. The seamless transitions between different acts kept the momentum going, and the well-paced program ensured that the audience remained engaged from start to finish.
Overall, this cultural and martial arts show was an absolute delight. It not only celebrated the beauty and diversity of various cultures but also showcased the immense talent and dedication of the performers. I left the show feeling inspired and with a newfound appreciation for the arts. I highly recommend attending this captivating show to anyone seeking an unforgettable experience that combines culture, martial arts, and breathtaking performances.

Philip's Natural Honey And Bee Farm, located in Thekkady, is a must-visit for those interested in learning about the fascinating world of bees and honey production. Visitors can gain insights into different bee species, their vital role in pollination, and the intricate process of honey making. The farm offers an educational experience where guests can interact with knowledgeable hosts like Philip and his family members who are passionate about bee farming.
I visited this place yesterday along with my wife & daughter. Met Philip, his wife and his father (a veteran in bee farming) in the farm. Philip explained the bee making process in very simple terms. And he answered all our fundamental and naive questions. We bought a 1.5 KG bottle of natural honey harvested in his farm. Philip and his wife struck a friendly chord with me & my family very quickly. We had some fun with jokes too. Entered the farm as a guest. Left the farm as a friend.
