The Canadian Automotive Museum is a specialized museum that showcases historic Canadian cars and other antique automobiles from different countries, including Rolls-Royces. It is located in Oshawa, Ontario and features vehicles manufactured between 1900 to 1980. Visitors can learn about the history of automotive manufacturing in Canada and how it has influenced modern Canadian life. A must-see exhibit is the 1929 Chevrolet from General Motors plant in Regina, complete with its distinctive spoke wheels.
What an amazing museum! The collection here is top-notch. The variety is very nice here between Canadian cars, foreign cars and of course even a Lightning McQueen for the kids.
The first floor is more foreign ones while the Canadian ones are on the second level. The kids can do a scavenger hunt for a toy at the end and the souvenir selection is vast and not too outrageous on the pricing.
Our son is a car enthusiast at the young age of 5 and he was in heaven here. We'll most certainly stop by again in the future, definitely worth the stop, not just as a stop by, but as a destination.
5/5.

Great experiences to see many antique vehicles in such a small but nice place. All vehicles are arranged very well, and each with a sign to introduce the year, brand, and details. Staff are all extremely friendly and knowledgible, they introduced overall the museum to us at the entrance, so we can get the big picture, and before we leave, they answered all our questions patiently. Overall a superb museum and we worth to be back again!

This was truly a lovely museum, its collection is very well preserved and displayed. It’s got a very nice selection of international and nationally made cars. Some of the were quite unique and interesting. It’s very educational and informative. It’s a great place to take your family and kids. I really enjoyed my time here and I would definitely recommend visiting this amazing museum.

This place is great for car fans and non-car lovers. There is so much to look at and the staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and inviting.
The place is packed with cars of all ages and tons of information of Canadian car history. But the biggest attraction was the life size Lightning McQueen.

Had an awesome time here today. Lightning is awesome to see and so many different and old vehicles. Would like to come back without the kids and take my time reading about all the vehicles.

So much history to be found in one building. It looks small from the outside but they managed to house A LOT of vehicles in there. They need more space so you can get closer to some of cars that have to be parked behind each other. Beautiful preservation of Canada’s and Oshawa’s history. Recommend a visit

A beautiful little museum. My family and I really enjoyed it. Learning about the history of each vehicle and especially Canadian brands. They also have a small treasure hunt for kids and adults to play together. I hope my pictures will encourage you to visit as it is definitely worth it. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. Thank you!

Had a great experience here ! Staff/volunteers were super knowledgeable and friendly. They had a few vendors set up for kids on the Family Day Holiday which was great. If your looking to go and have a stroller, there are stairs only to get to the second floor, but they do have a place you can leave your stroller. Washrooms are also located upstairs. Parking is located right beside the building with some designated parking for the museum itself.

It was a great place. I just wish it was a bit bigger so you could see some of the other cars that are behind 2 and 3 cars. We saw a old fire truck in a back corner that we were dying to see. It only took us about 25 mins to go around the 2 floors.

The collections are awesome. Also the range of cars. From classic to new, gas cars, electric, hybrid. It's definitely worth a visit.

A small space jam packed with historic cars from earliest years of automotive revolution all the way to late 20th century
I liked it so much that I visited it twice.
If you like old cars, if you like to read about historic cars, where they were made, which company built them and so on then this is the place for you
It shows rich history of Canadian car industry.
Only qualm is that the building is smallish
I wish they could put all the cars on one floor on a large warehouse type site. That would make it more attractive for visitors.
Parking is free. Entry fee is okayish. But you won't be disappointed by the sheer amount of old cars to marvel at and be amazed by.
Abdul Aleem — Google review
My son is obsessed with Lightning McQueen so seeing the smile on his face was worth the month. I wish more people knew about this little treasure. I hope their new funding helps out with some restoration on the old building. Upstairs flooring could use some love. We will be coming again for sure and many more times. We were happy to support this little small business.

It was an underrated experience. I didn't expect much when going there. But it had everything a car lover could expect. Especially for classic car lovers. Their collection was unbelievable.
Even with a very small space, they have managed to showcase many automobiles and have maintained them in great condition.
Tour guide was very descriptive and knowledgeable.
All the details on each vehicle was displayed nicely.
Gift shop could improve a little bit more with classic car models but had plenty of options though.
Overall it was a great experience which was totally unexpected.

I saw this under the "Things to do in Oshawa" list somewhere and thought sure, lets check it out. I don't know anything about cars so I went with the "let's learn" mindset.
I'm so glad that I did. They have a variety of cars on display and history (background information) for each. They currently have Disney Pixar's Lightning McQeen on display (real life sized). As a kid I grew up watching that, so getting to take a picture with that was my highlight!
They even have kid friendly activities making it a good learning experience for them. I went around noon on a Friday so it was nice and quiet.
I bought a nice Corvette toy as I really liked the real model. They have quite a few car models including Hudson, Disney's Cars themed figures, and other vintage ones to buy. Posters, cards, books etc are also available.

A good place to see collections of foreign made and canadian made cars dates back before 1910. The building is old, space looks tight for the cars. Love the classic cars though, would be nice to see them on the road.

Great collection of Canadian cars from the late 1800s onwards. Amanda is an awesome tour guide - very knowledgeable! Learnt a lot about electric cars - did you know that the first electric car was built in 1898 and made completely out of wood?
The Parkwood Estate is a neoclassic mansion built in 1917 that boasts formal gardens and even a bowling alley. Visitors can enjoy local small businesses at events such as the Lawn Maker show, where they can support vendors and explore the beautiful grounds. While parking may be limited on-site, there is an adjacent garage available for visitors. The estate also offers tours and high tea in advance bookings for those interested.
Parkwood Estate is a must see museum, the history and story of RS McLaughlin and his family is fascinating and educational. Tour guides are volunteers who have a true love for the estate.
The Gardens oh my goodness... I can't even pick which one is my favorite but I can recommend stopping by the tea house for a light snack or lunch.
Parkwood also offers many social events you should check out.
Question ... how many movies/TV shows can you name that were filmed at Parkwood??

Went on a garden tour today. It was fabulous. Our tour guide Louise was great and the group we were
with were fun. The gardens are just stunning. I love this place and it’s our 10th time going. I highly recommend any of their tours the auto baron, servants quarters, basement… they’re all informative and exciting. The gift shop is charming and all of the staff LOVE their work and the home. We ended our day with lunch at the tea garden which was scrumptious and well worth the prices. A little bit of Oshawa’s history to explore.

Our experience at Parkwood Estate was really good. We had a great family outing. The gardens and the fountains are very well maintained and clean. Lots of open space for families to hang out together. Parking is free too. Although we couldn't manage to do the guided tour of the mansion but we are planning to go again soon.

Absolute gorgeous place for afternoon tea. The estate is well kept and the florals are beautiful. With the afternoon tea set, you get a plethora amount of food to keep you satisfied. My favourite sandwich was the apple curry chicken croissant! The scones are great and so are the sweets. The service is impeccable!!! My friends and I needed to go to the washroom and they called a golf cart to take us there since the walk was going to be long. Not only that, the gentleman that took us waited for us and dropped us back at the tea house. The property is great for pictures and to just enjoy. I would love to come back again 💖

First time visiting the estate to attend the Lawn Maker show on September 19. The show featured local small businesses so we were happy to support local vendors.
Beautiful garden and grounds. Limited parking on the estate but there is a parking garage beside the site. We paid $9 for a few hours.
They offer tours and high tea in the garden that is booked in advanced. We plan on coming back another day for that but it may have to wait until next year because there are no more slots for the rest of the season.
There is a small gift shop to check out. The neat part is to see all the movies that have been shot on the grounds of the estate.
A beautiful, peaceful oasis east of Toronto. Definitely worth the visit.

There are several tours you can choose from and we are very glad to have toured the mansion today.
Look at their excellent website or call their helpful staff and volunteers. Elizabeth was great. Thanks for answering a hundred questions. This amazing place sits in the midst of Oshawa and they don't charge for parking? That's generous.

We attended for the Lavender Picnic on July 9.
We appreciated the beauty of the grounds and the nicely boxed luncheon consisting of a chicken sandwich, two mini lavender cookies, two cannolis, small lavender iced tea.
We felt that for the price of a ticket total $53.55, it should have included some type of program, even for 1/2 hour.
Their advertising was confusing, as it did not specify that when booking it was for one person, stating "bring a friend", which implies two people and not "invite a friend"

This is a beautiful estate to visit for historical importance. Visiting this place takes you back in time. Well maintained but we visited in November. The guided tour of 90 minutes costs $12 for seniors. There are many guided tours within the estate for which you have to check the website. We got to see the living, dining, family room and Library, The Recreation area included Swimming, blowing ally and pool table. The tour was worth it. Will return in Summer. A list of movies that were filmed here is included here.

The tour guides/crew are all awesome friendly and make you feel at home, they made this experience even more remembrable. Thank you Vivian, you are doing great. ❤️ The estate itself is great, has a tea restaurant near the fountain and water body which is an amazing experience. I'm looking forward to booking the next tour of the servant quarters and first floor in the fall. It's a wonderful place, even if you're not a fan of history, a must visit!

Definitely the most underrated and overlooked spot in Oshawa. We loved our tour of the mansion - it was a fascinating exploration of a major Canadian figure I’d never even heard of. Then we explored the grounds - which are free and open to everyone and are absolutely gorgeous. They’re also going to look very familiar to fans of Billy Madison, Nightmare Alley, Ready of Not, or any number of other films that have featured the grounds’ fountain.

This was a really great experience and I highly recommend it!
I did the Auto Baron Tour with friends. This is a bit of an overview tour vs the other more specialized tours. Our tour guide, Zoe, was quite informative and did a wonderful job painting a picture of what life was like, while deftly handling some of our esoteric questions!
The home is stunning and well maintained, and the grounds spectacular as well. There is so much to cover, I now understand why there are so many different tours! I'll just have to go back to check out other parts of the home!
ETA: I have also done the Christmas tour and Greenhouse tour, and thoroughly enjoyed them. Lovely to learn more about this fascinating family although it's a real treat having Zoe for a tour guide as her passion and admiration really shine through.
I did the Christmas tour with my mom and sister, and the Greenhouse tour with my husband and 4 year old son. The home and grounds are so extensive, and the history spans so many decades, that multiple tours really allow you to dive in and discover many enjoyable nuances.

This place is a haven in the middle of Oshawa. It was built by Sam Mclaughlin who eventually founded General Motor s. It is a designated Historical site. I still haven't visited the actual house but I will.
The gardens are out of this world. They reminded me of European gardens. I visited in September and October and I have to return next summer. There is a a tea house and a gift store.
Do visit here, I know I will return.

Two intriguing elements were the house and the gardens. Even in early Fall, the latter were beautiful with a wide range of flower types and colours with the contrasting green of the lawns. The house was an impressive collection of different rooms many of which contained the original furniture. Wonderfully high ceilings with wood panelled walls and contrasting plaster mouldings. A detailed presentation by the knowledgeable docent gave a warm insight into the personalities of the family. Well worth visiting. Combined house and garden visit would need about 2.5 hours.

Came to the Teahouse for a summer evening dinner. Wasn't too busy but apparently we came on the last day for dinners for the summer so could be why. We made reservations and we're seated front and centre of the fountain. Stunning view! 😍 the hostess and wait staff were very attentive and friendly! The food and drinks were great and we loved getting to walk around the estate afterwards to enjoy the scenery. Definitely will be coming back next summer to try out the afternoon tea as well!

Lakeview, a serene suburb of Oshawa situated beside Lake Ontario, boasts many green spaces such as Pumphouse Marsh and the Oshawa Valleylands Conservation Area which is famous for its creekside bike trail. At Lakeview Park, families can enjoy sandy beaches along with a pier and lookout, in addition to visiting the Oshawa Museum. The region surrounding this area contains various historic sites including the 1917 Parkwood Estate.
The Ontario Regiment Museum features exhibits showcasing the history of Canada's oldest ongoing militia, as well as over 80 military vehicles. Visitors can explore artifacts and items from the War of 1812, World War I, World War II, and the war in Afghanistan. The museum also holds an impressive collection of guns and weapons from each era. A knowledgeable guide is available to provide additional information about the exhibits.
I'll admit, we thought about not coming here but decided let's just go. So glad we did. What a very cool museum.
You start by seeing items and history from 1812. Then you make your way around and through WWI and WWII and the war in Afghanistan.
There are tons of cool guns, weapons and artifacts from each war time era. The gentleman we had walking around was full of so much great information which was an added bonus.
After that main museum part, you can walk through the doors and then self tour the military vehicles. The amount of tanks is crazy. From all sorts of eras. Different sizes, colours, etc. Very awesome. Next time, we'll come when they have a live event.
5/5.

The museum is on the small side but it has everything! A history of the regiment with uniforms and different guns used at different times even nurses that played a role during WW1-2 were featured there. It has tanks galore from 1 world war to today and even some other equipment that is used at the battlefield.
We felt very lucky that our guide ( you can ask for the guides and they were at no additional cost) was the curator of the museum. He was so knowledgeable that even that we went there for our kids we ended up having questions for him. The place had some crew from a 🎥 movie that were filming.
We would be going back again since my boys felt in love with those tanks.

We came for Aquino tank days, which were fabulous. My military history-loving husband and sons were enthralled. The tank track was well designed with the bleachers alongside, so we could see everything. The special effects were icing on the cake. The kids loved walking around and seeing all the vehicles up close. They loved the RC tanks. They had fun tossing "potato masher" grenades (again and again). This was totally worth traveling from Calgary to see!
As for the museum: it's a tiny museum but I really enjoyed it. Quite a few documents are displayed, which is not something you see in bigger museums. I particularly liked the framed collection of documents from the time one member spent in a POW camp, including the covert and official newspapers. There is a roll of Army tilt paper! And a helmet from a guy who was hit by a sniper and survived.

A great museum mainly consisting of tanks and some other military-related stuff. Admission is relatively cheap and there is a great collection of different tanks to be seen up close. Tank rides are available for a price on most Saturdays, I recommend checking out their website for specific tanks and dates.

Museum is small but they have a lot of knowledgeable staffs and the best part is that if your military, veteran or cadet get free admission to the museum with a ID. We are lucky enough to get to see the last tank show with the Exeter Navy Cadets. The museum is open all year around but the Saturday tank show is done for the season. Can’t wait for the next tank show next year. I know nothing about tank and we were introduced to each tank that was in the tank show from where it’s made to when it was used. The most fun and must see is the tanks battle royale.

This is a true gem in a city (Oshawa) that normally gets a bad rap. This museum has an extensive display of military vehicles, weapons, uniforms, medals and more. Where this facility truly stands out, is on its "Tank Days" which occur roughly once a month. During these events, you will observe both static and moving displays of the mightiest military force on the planet from various eras. This huge collection of functioning armoured power put on amazing displays and mock battles that will loosen your fillings as these behemoths rumble by! The over 100 volunteers that work to put on these Tank Days are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about military history and are happy to share their knowledge and experiences (many are Canadian Forces veterans!) ... This is the best $20 you will ever spend.

Great gallery!
Very happy that they've brought back the free Sunday events, now sponsored by OPG. We used to go before COVID and always had a great time. Got the chance to attend the recent Sunday program and staff at both activities were so supportive and friendly. Farah especially, has such enthusiasm and love for what she does.
The gallery itself is fantastic.
There's a small kids room with hands-on activities and the exhibits are fantastic.
I was privileged to see Couzyn van Heuvelen's CAMP exhibition, which was so amazing, despite only having four pieces, but they certainly make an impact. A must-see.
The entire gallery is worth the drive out to this special space, and you (and your kids, as it's pretty kid-friendly) can spend over an hour here, looking at all the collections.

Went for Christmas tea. The room was very bright and clean with large windows to see out. The tables had fresh white linen clothes.
Each person had an individual ceramic tea pot with the tea they chose. There was not a large variety of teas but the ones we chose had nice flavour.
One member of our group has food sensitivities and the venue took care to prepare a menu for her that fit her dietary needs. She said her food was delicious.
In afternoon tea tradition, we had scones with lemon curd, whipped cream and a berry compote. Small sandwiches of cucumber and cream cheese (the classic) egg salad,Turkey with cranberries and a prosciutto croissant. There was also a tortilla wrap with smoked salmon.
Desserts included chocolate covered Strawberry, fruit custard tart, a snowman merengue and a homemade sandwich cookie.
Staff was super nice.

Beautiful garden. Great for walks, picnic or just dressing up nicely to take some pictures. Small little stream that does not smell because there is a feet of running water. Pleasantly surprised how serene and calm it was. So close to downtown Oshawa yet so quiet and peaceful.
There were a few people. Some walking their dogs ,sitting on a bench,at the playground with their children. A few women were doing some power walking, cyclists passing by on their bikes. There is something for everyone without feeling crowded.
There's a creek that runs parallel yo the path. Saw a few salmon still swimming around.
Very well kept grounds. There was maintenance crew at work that day

Visited the Botanical Gardens during the peony festival (June 8th &9th).There was a couple of small business from the community, food trucks, peony judging and with some fun activates for the young ones. The garden itself is clean and relaxing even if you don't come for the festival. Great for long walks, picnics, taking pictures and is one of the best hidden gems of Oshawa. Parking is limited on certain days of the week.

First time to the Peony Festival. Nice to see actually. All the different Peonies available. Lots of different vendors setup for different things. Not necessarily plant stuff either. Also, food vendors on-sight. Nice little walk along the Oshawa Creek.
The Oshawa Centre is a contemporary and sizable mall that has an extensive range of shops including clothing, jewellery, financial institutions and healthcare facilities. It boasts a large food court with numerous options available. The mall remains a bustling hub even during the pandemic as it now also houses a vaccination clinic at the north entrance. It is equipped with almost every brand one could require making it an ideal location for all shopping needs.
One of the finest mall in Oshawa. This is usually a busy place even in the times of Covid. There is also a vaccination clinic at the north entrance. Food court is nice here. Almost al brands are here for your all kind of needs. A nice hang out place for people. A huge parking lot is also available here.

Had a great time visiting Oshawa Centre. It’s a vibrant mall with a wide variety of stores and eateries, catering to all kinds of needs and tastes. The atmosphere is welcoming and the mall is well-maintained, making shopping trips here both pleasant and convenient. Whether you’re shopping, dining, or just strolling around, this mall has something for everyone. Definitely a go-to spot in the area!

Huge parking lots. Great shopping mall, like many other ones, diversified, different varieties of stores. Courteous customer service. Washrooms were clean & bright.

This is a very spacious and well designed mall. It has a variety of clothing brands, shoe stores, beauty supply stores, accessories and local shops, cellular provider stores/kiosks, Tim Hortons, Starbucks, McDonald’s, Indigo, Hudson’s Bay, Shoppers Drug Mart, Dollarama, a dental centre, salons, and a decent food court.
There is a huge parking lot surrounding the mall. The lobby is decorated as per the various occasions/festivals. Sometimes, the crowd outside the mall is troublesome and causes a negative experience but other than that, it’s a nice and less crowded place to have a fun and enjoyable shopping experience.

I really liked this place except for the food court, it was really hard to find good veg options over there. But overall I love the experience, the stores were great, the cleanliness was top notch, the helpers were nice and everything was there. Go and enjoy your shopping. ✨

This was a really big mall in Oshawa. It was well maintained and very spacious. The food court was nice and they kept a good social distance between tables. They have all those popular stores so, you can get everything you need at one stop. It was worth the visit.

We stopped off at the Keg for an early dinner. It was steady evening and came in within our reservation time. The patio was nice however we enjoyed the interior seating. Waitress was great tonight. There is a surf and turf special, with lobster, shrimps combo. Steak is cooked to perfection. Med rare. Twice baked potatoes with veg. Drinks were great and celebrated a birthday so Billy Minor pie came out. Great food and great service! Always a great time at the Keg!

Not letting people have access to get through either side of the mall is very challenging for individuals with health /physical disabilities.
I'm sure they can offer a middle section to have acess to the either sides of the mall instead of walking the length and distance.
I've helped a senior person who fell from exertion by the time she got to the food court. For this reason it makes going there not an enjoyable experience.
The washrooms are also not cleaned often enough.
Oshawa Zoo & Fun Farm is a relaxed and enjoyable destination that offers enclosed areas for visitors to pet and interact with over 40 different species of animals, including goats and camels. Oshawa zoo and farm is a fun place to head to with your little ones. You can pick up pop corn bags at entrance at a cost of $3 per bag. The animals absolutely loved them and my lo enjoyed feeding them. It was a lovely experience for him to see the animals and pet them too.

My family loves this place! We visit every summer and there's so much for people of every age to do. There's a wide variety of exotic animals to farm animals. The animals are given loads of room to run around and the caretakers truly love the animals they watch over. The owners even let me hold a baby goat named Snickers and they fell asleep in my arms; it was such a special moment. My daughter got to bond with a rooster and even named him "Hay-Hay". The food is amazing, there's plenty of picnic tables to eat at and this is the perfect place to take your family when you want something fun and inexpensive to do.

Such a nice secluded zoo. Animals look well maintained and happy, most enclosures were with ample space for animals to roam. It was clean and animals looked super happy to greet and be with guest. Popcorn is actually really good lol the gentleman on the restaurant side is very nice and has a well put menu. Definitely a nice place to take the family to have a slower paced and relaxed outing

Best place to bring your kid or just have a date with your friends. A large variety of animals. Staff are all nice. You can buy popcorn at entrance to feed animals or just for yourself 😂. Bring my kids here 3 times in the past month. They all love this place.

The Oshawa Zoo is the perfect size; small enough that you can walk the whole zoo in an hour and a half comfortably and big enough that your little ones can run around safely and freely without getting bored. I took my almost 2 year old and one month old in her stroller. The scenery is beautiful! The staff is so friendly, helpful and seem to love their jobs. They do outreach with the local high school which is incredible; the shop students designed and built some of the enclosures. This is also a rescue zoo so many of the animals are rescues from other zoos. There is a great place to eat with fair prices and the parking is free! $32 for a seasons pass for adults is well worth it and kids 2 and under are free. We love this place!!

A simple, but enjoyable family outing. We walked around for about 3 hours seeing lots of farm animals, such as sheep, cows, donkeys, horses, and pigs, to which you can feed popcorn that they sell at the entry. All the farm animals tended to come near the fences, which was exciting for kids. We also saw lemurs, but nothing else that really qualified the place as a zoo, at least during our April 30th visit. Nonetheless, nice grounds, spead out, lots of space for kids to run. The grassy terrain is a little hilly, and naturally uneven, so a sturdy stroller or wagon is best. Also, I recommend rainboots if there has recently been any rain as the grounds can be muddy. We packed a picnic and found a nice shaded picnic table, which was perfect. Parking was tight on opening day, but we had no trouble getting a spot. We would recommend it to families with kids, probably most enjoyable for kids under age 12.

Absolutely lovely place to bring your kids and your furry friends! The only zoo I found that’s pet friendly so far! I’ve always wanted to let my doggy meet more animal friends and here is probably the perfect place for us!
Staffs are super friendly. The animals are happy too! Most of the animals are excited to see humans! and you can tell they are happy and they love humans.
We bought popcorns at the entrance and fed the animal friends in the zoo!
My dog absolutely had a great time there!

Absolutely loved this place! I selected it because it was on our way to Ottawa and it had great reviews. It did not disappoint. We loved how they didn't force anyone to buy food and beverages from them. You can bring your own food. I even saw a birthday party set up there (what a great idea!) And they brought their own food. We also liked how big the land is so the animals have a lot of space to roam around.

Small farm-type local zoo with tons of animals to see. Great for our little one!
Note: no additional kid activities or food options. There are picnic tables if you bring your own meals. Parking is also very tight, you have to park on the grass in extremely tight spaces and not a true "parking lot"
Edit - We just learned there was a food truck onsite. Will definitely need to check this out next time.

A really nice zoo, there's a great variety of animals to see, everything is spaced out enough to take your time and walk around. The staff is very friendly, especially with the kids. There's a small picnic area and food truck as well. We get the annual membership, which is well worth the price.

A very nice experience for kids and you can feed the cute little goats, sheep, horses out of your hands if you buy the popcorn. It's more like an animal farm with wildlife mix. Don't expect a big place with lots of animals and crowds. The food truck food was yummy too!
The McLaughlin Bay Wildlife Reserve is a serene natural area housing approximately 400 species of plants and abundant wildlife. The reserve features walking trails, viewing platforms, and stunning natural landscapes offering great photo opportunities during sunrise. Visitors are advised to wear rain boots due to the marshy terrain which can be muddy and buggy at times. While there are no garbage bins in the area for environmental reasons, there is free parking available at the end of the bumpy driveway/path leading up to the reserve.

A very quiet place ....or it use to be quiet before COVID19. Still a nice place to visit and see wildlife and wildflowers. In the spring time it’s a great place to spot migratory birds as they stop in to take a rest. Some birds you may see passing through are, kinglets, orioles, shorebirds and many, many more.

Easy relatively flat trail. We went after some heavy rain, so there's some uneven spots caused by the rain.
The trail map is not the easiest to understand take a photo of the map and note the name of the path will help you.
It's a beautiful trail and it leads to the shoreline. Perfect view.
Bugs are on the aggressive side. We got a few bites on our face, legs and arms even with DEET bug spray. So go prepare!

One of a hidden beach visited. Need to have a walk after parking our car. Need guidance for ofcourse to reach the destination. But, the walk is worth to have a spectacular view and feeling. Its better to be there by evening and spend time even after the sunset. A campfire, the tidal sound makes you feel relaxed. The picture is not much clear but i cam guarantee your satisfaction.

The McLaughlin Bay Wildlife Reserve is a peaceful place to stop for a hike through the marsh (I suggest boots or even better rain boots) note this is a marsh area so there is mud and some bugs but worth it for the natural reserve. The wild life is active here and best caught first thing in the morning in my opinion. Great spot for photographers for natural landscapes sunrises.
Ive been lucky enough to catch the morning fog/dew and it is stunning.
Please note driveway/path is bumpy but there is free parking at the end.
There are no garbage bins due to wildlife I assume so please be mindful of that when visiting this spot. There is a Johnny on the spot here and map of the trials

Summer or Winter, it's a gorgeous place to visit. It is in the city of Oshawa, near the waterfront. Getting off at Harmony is the best choice off the 401 highway. The walking paths and terrain are not difficult nor have a lot of alterations in grade, basically are flat, so not a difficult walk or hike. It's a great place though for scenery variation, there is forest, marsh and beach shoreline.
Spring and Fall, the birds are plentiful. There are beautiful blossom and flowering bushes like rose hip, dogwood, etc.
There is quite an expanse of the shoreline of Lake Ontario to walk along, a small rock layered beach, lots of beautiful drift wood pieces.
It's worth the visit!

A wonderful trail to enjoy and birdwatch. You can see, chipmunks, red squirrels, beavers and variety of birds like blue jays, cardinals, chickadees...
The chickadees are very friendly and come to your hand if you bring sunflower seeds with you. They are picky and want only sunflower seeds😄
You can get to the beach from the trail. The views of marsh are beautiful

As a concert venue, one can't be surprised that the sound in a hockey arena wasn't great. Just like all the bigger venues beer selection was poor and absurdly expensive. However, seating was comfortable, with speedy ingress and egress.

Great place but parking is rough if you show up close to game times. The suites are nice a suitable for an office party or any other function. They cater pizza which is basic but at least it’s not ridiculously overpriced. I wish the Power and Dodgers would come back, that would truly make this a top notch facility.

Good sight lines and acoustics at this venue. There is a lot of accessible parking along the side of the building, which is a plus. The refreshments are not as costly as some larger venues. My first visit to the venue and it was a pleasant experience. Concession stands were busy and lines a bit long but service was prompt. Good selections are limited and maybe an addition of dairy and gluten free options would go a long way. Parking was not thought of when this venue was built but can be found at many of the free lots around the center. Entry from some of the side entrances can get a bit chaotic but as long as one is patient things move along quickly.

Recently, I have been trying out a premium seat. One for season ticket holders. The reason being my disabled brother has a new lady friend, and I never know when he'll be attending a game with me. Anyways, the box office was nice. Enjoy to let me check that seat out. I was extremely surprised they were able to.
The experience is fantastic. The people I'm sitting next to make me feel like I've been there forever. We always celebrate together when the generals score. They're kind and friendly. The food service to my seats is as well. The price I pay for them seats are well worth the value.
The tradition in Oshawa is definitely one that should remain in this city. The main goal around this venue should be to preserve it. To be able to attract others to come from other places. Market it properly. If they have to clear out some home's and small business around the area. To make it appear more attractive. They should do that. Just relocate all of them. Oshawa can be a beautiful place to visit.

I like this place. It's close to home plus it's a pretty good venue. The one complant the seats sucks. The leg room is also terrible. Other then that I really like going here . I've seen a few shows here . I went to see Cirque du Soleil Crystal. What a great show well worth the money. Plus it's not that expensive.

Purple Woods Conservation Area is a great place to visit, especially during the maple syrup festival. The well-maintained 400m trail leads to the house where maple syrup is made, with interactive sections for kids along the way. There are amenities like washrooms and alcohol for hygiene provided. The trail also features story boards telling the story of "Grandpa's Sugar Bush," making it a nicely organized experience overall.
We joined the maple syrup festival today, and the experience was great! The weather was fantastic. The place is quite nicely maintained. The trail is about 400m, leading you to see the house where maple syrup is made of. The house is at the left side of the end of the trail. And on the right, there were several interactive sections for kids to explore: two giant woodened connect 4, one giant pot, showing how people concentrated the syrup, and so on. There is also a washroom next to the pot and alcohol was provided just outside for hygiene purposes, which is nice. The trail is not a loop, so in order to go out, just follow the original path. On your way out, there are story boards telling the story of "Grandpa's Sugar Bush". It's very nicely organized overall!

It took me about an hour to walk both trails, and I got a really nice workout in which you can bring your dog, but it has to be on a leash. No tick signs posted . Stopped here to stretch my legs on Easter driving home from my brother's. It's not a big park, mostly focused on the sugar shack and maple syrup collection. Have to admit I nerded out a bit amongst the sugar maples. It's a more modern setup than I am used to seeing so that was something. Nice views from the sugar shack. Also connects to a regional trail system that looks to go on for miles.

Blue plastic tubes transport the tapped maple sap down to the sugar shack, at the base of a windy and fun trail, where it is boiled down to maple syrup every March. Cool educational interpretation of the process, great fun for the whole family, with outdoor traditional game/toys for children, horse drawn ride through the forest, and tasty pancake and syrup meal in the main building. Very well organized and managed conservation area and maple syrup festival. Friendly staff are excellent! Tiny shop in main building sells a good variety of maple related edible products from syrup to hot sauce. Entire experience is very affordable for families and a lot of fun. Wonderful area to spend an hour with kids and show fall colors. Trails are wide and easy, pretty short so I would say not more than 2 hours in total you will spend there. Huge parking lot, so everybody will have room. I didn't like to come with a dog, plants on the trails shoulders are sticky and living small seeds on the fur, that can be super dangerous especially if the dog is long coated. For me probably it is a one time visit, but if you are living somewhere in 10-15 minute area it is totally worth it!

Went for the Maple Syrup festival with my toddler, and they did a wonderful job with the event for all ages. The only suggestion would be to advertise on the event page that there is an additional cost for things such as the horse-drawn carriage, taffy etc and it is cash only. I was thankful that I had just enough cash on me, but I saw many people scrambling for cash and digging through change to enjoy the extras.
