The Lost Waterfalls, also known as Las Tres Cascadas, is a jungle hiking destination that features three waterfalls with natural pools and an abundance of wildlife like quetzals and snakes. The trails are well-marked and easy to follow, making for a pleasant hike. However, visitors should note that the park closes at 4pm and there is a $10 per person entrance fee, which may be considered expensive for a Latin American hiking experience.
Great hike. Very good waterfalls. The only reason I say very good and not downright amazing is more just because of my waterfall experience. Travelling a lot in Costa Rica and really around the world I have been to a ton of waterfalls. These I would not list as the best but they are beautiful and it is a great hike. I love the beginning of it where you get views of the valley and some farming on the mountains. Also the large pine trees

These waterfalls are so beautiful and pristine! The hike is steep, but worth it! If your in good shape, it’s very easy. If not, I could see it being difficult. There is a very steep section you have to use a rope to get up and down.

Beautiful hike with 3 waterfalls. We ended up parking our car at the entrance near the pipeline trail and walking about 0.6 miles on the road to the right of the pipeline trail to the entrance of the lost waterfalls trail. This part was paved and mostly uphill, but there is parking close to the entrance of the lost waterfalls too. Entrance fee was $10 per person but was worth it and felt like the trails were well maintained.
From someone who lives normally at zero elevation, the hike was difficult but manageable for someone who is in shape. It took us 3.5 hours to complete including stopping at each waterfall and swimming in 2 of the waterfalls. Waterfall 2&3 can be swam in, water was cold but worth the experience to swim. It is cooler on this hike as it is very shaded from the trees and higher elevation than in Boquete. Areas of the hike are steep with some of the portions with ropes to assist getting up and down. Overall, I recommend this hike, we had fun!

That is an amazing trek, not the easiest one and for good hiking shoes only, but absolutely worth the effort! You do not need a guide for this one (if you have own transport to bring you to the starting point). The path to the 1st waterfall is rather easy, the difficulty increasing with each waterfall. We lived it!

Just so everyone knows it is 10 dollars per person. We've done a lot of hiking in our lives and one of the reasons we enjoy it is because it is cheap. However they do have to do a bit of trail maintenance and the lady we paid mentioned that a lot of the money goes back to local preservation and indigenous communities. It is a slippery trail so wear good shoes. Lots of uphill/downhill.
Tiara C — Google review
Nice waterfalls. You can easily take a bus here for 2.5 dollars and then hike up. Entry is 10 dollars. If you wanna swim, be aware that you can only swim in waterfalls 2 and 3. It's a nice hike, not that exhausting. Some parts there are ropes, so you don't fall climbing up or down.

Nice hike, trails are easy to follow. Lots of signage. It closes at 4pm, so plan accordingly. The hike took about an hour one way to falls #2, obviously this depends on your health, fitness level, and the weather (it was dry). Note the hike will cost you $10 per person to enter, so quite expensive considering your in Latin America for a hike. Parking is on the street and is limited. The person at the gate house where you pay was very friendly and helpful.

2/3 waterfalls reached. It has spectular views. From the moment you leace your car nearby and star hiking, there is something to look at. It was lke $8 per person to enter the trail. It is well maintained so I guess its fine but we didnt know this beforehand. Good shoes are recommended because theres a lot of loose rock and mud. Maybe bring an extra pair of pants if youre gonna dip in the first waterfall and then continue to the third one. It is very cold. I have to go again and complete the trail.

5 stars for the hike, 1 star for how poorly the trail is maintained at some points and the entrance fee (10 dollars per person is absurd - especially considering the condition of the trail). The hike takes 15 minutes up to the entrance and then 1 hour back and forth so in total between 2-2,5 hours. Wear proper hiking shoes and be prepared to get very muddy. The waterfalls are gorgeous and the views are well worth the effort

Medium to Hard Hike. I am 62 with improving knees and I was able to do it. I used a guide Jose who was awsome. There is a rope part which was helpful to have a guide. Any one who is injured free and young should have no problem. Very slipper and muddy worst in the winter I was told. Hiking pole was helpful. Drink lots of water eat breakfast or lunch before you go

My partner and I decided to do this hike on our own and we did not regret it! There are a lot of reviews complaining about the $10 entry fee but the property managers maintain the trail and the experience at the waterfalls is breathtaking! I do think you need to be comfortable with hiking over rocks and slippery terrain. Would do it again in hotter weather!
Richard Dao (xiaoyao) — Google review
Inflation takes its toll, right now you got to pay 10 bucks each to enter the private property. Apart from this annoyment we enjoyed the hike to the three cascades a lot. The paths wind cleverly through the rising terrain and they are partly secured by wooden steps. At some point you have to use ropes to manage the steep climbs - a challenging task, especially in the rain. You will get rewarded by nice views into the rainforest and on the three cascades, which don't break any records but are beautiful to look at and provide an opportunity for swimming if you can tolerate cold water.

Nice but way more demanding than described in official tours. The waterfalls are nice but even I as a non hiker have seen some on comparable level

Wonderful hike with beautiful views. Challenging at times. Muddy. Bring plenty of water and take your time. It took me, my wife, 9yr old and 12 yr daughters about 3 hours to get there and back. We did plenty of stops to take videos, pictures, and catch our breath.

I think the path up to the entrance cabin was the toughest part because it's steep. You cross a bridge that only monkeys are allowed to jump across, humans have to walk. There's some chickens, colorful flowers, and view of the volcano (covered in clouds when we went).
We went on a relatively dry day and got a bit muddy. You might get more muddy if there was more rain. None of us slipped once!
There's lots of railings and ropes to help going up and downhill. I think the paths look harder than they actually are, but it is uphill and downhill the whole time. Took us 2.5 hours roundtrip.
My favorite was waterfall #2! It was $10 entry and they have a toilet with a sink you can use before and/or after the hike. No door for the bathroom but you get a good view of the volcano while on the toilet 😂 The trail stops allowing entry at 3pm, so don't arrive too late!

Nice sunset. It’s possible to walk up there during the night, camp at the top or take a really expensive car driving up. Either way the view is amazing. The hike is kind of boring.
Charlotte Roemer — Google review
It’s really hard to go up and even more hard to come down
Not for the day trip definitely
You might camp there or you can have a car 4x4 for the sunset
It’s also freezing in the morning when you head up there
If you are not used to it, think one more time to hike there and make sure you are prepared

A life time experience and difficult place to hike. You can pay to get a ride directly to the top but hiking yourself is completely another thing. The roads are steep and rocky which make the journey difficult, not because of the distance.
byron f — Google review
Tough hike up, we started at 1.30 and had to keep a fairly high pace to make it up for sunrise. It is a tough hike in places so maybe give yourself some more time if you don't want to really rush up but be warned that it is cold and windy up top so be prepared as you will freeze if you're still wearing your sweaty clothes at the summit while waiting.
Worth the hike as the sunrise is amazing, you can see both Pacific and Atlantic oceans from the top and even if its cloudy it looks cool. We waited a bit for clouds to move around and it was worth it.
We got a $5 transfer from Bambuda Castle to the starting point and a bus comes by the gate at the start periodically on the way back.

I struggle to believe many of the people reviewing here have hiked up... This is a brutal hike. It took two young fit people about five and a half hours to make the climb, starting at midnight in order to reach the top for sunrise. The roads are in a dreadful state in places, thick mud everywhere. It's all uphill, becoming incredibly steep in places, especially towards the end. The peak is basically an industrial estate for telecommunication equipment, trash everywhere. It was bitterly cold and windy and there is nowhere for the visitor to hide out of the elements. The views were spectacular (in the dark), but as sunrise broke a huge bank of fog rolled in and sat there for two hours, consequently we saw nothing. The hike back down is just as brutal on the knees and took about four hours.
In essence, don't bother the hike for sunrise unless it's dry season. The weather is so bad and unpredictable in the rainy season there's a good chance you won't see anything and if you hike that's about 10 hours for nothing... Pay the money and take a tour in a 4x4, the park opens at 3am and you can make the sunrise for then easily by car.
Also not sure what the entrance fee goes towards as there are zero facilities anywhere, the summit is full of trash and the roads are in a terrible state.

The roads are in great shape if you can get Aníbal's vehicle. This transportation is the ideal to climb up to the Volcan Barú amazing service and expertise. Nature it's just breath taking. Highly recommend

We walked up here at night and it was totally worth it. We were picked up at 11:45 in Boquete (there are hostels and tour agencies in Boquete who offer transportation for the night hike, 6-7 dollars per person and one way, your hotel can also organize a private taxi which is around 20dollars one way).
It took us around 5,5 hours with small breaks to make it to the top. Use the time during the break and watch the night sky. It is beautiful and you get to see a lot of shooting stars!
Once you are on the top, and don’t move, you will feel the cold. I was wearing 4 layers, gloves and a beanie. Fortunately the wind was not too bad. We also had a blanket with us.
The way down took us 3,5hours. There are Collectivos to take you back to Boquete. per Person 3 Dollars and they are supposed to show up every 30minutes.
Don’t forget to take with you 2,5-3l water per person and snacks.
Enjoy 😊

We had a local guide drive us to the top. It took about 2 hours to drive. You cannot do this in a normal vehicle. We left at 3:45am and made it with plenty of time to climb up to the cross for sunset. It was cold, bring a coat. We considered hiking instead, but we heard estimates of 5-7 hours to hike it. You basically hike up the road with dense brush on both sides. Between that and starting the hike at 11pm, it made hitching a ride well worth it. However you choose to do this, make sure you get to top of volcan baru.
Absolutely amazing trail trough the jungle including bridges, crossing a river and hiking up the "Mirador"! U don't need a guide, only if you want to see special birds and other animals. I recommend starting really early from boquete and hiking up to the Mirador. Don't trust the distances on the signs! 😂 We returned from the viewing point to the ranger station in boquete and saved us the long trip in the bus from Cerro punta to David. This version of the hike takes you around 5h.
But it's absolutely worth it!!

Great hike with nice ranger. It's quite a tough climb going up from the Boquete side. Most tours go the other way around. We did just go up to the lookout point and then back... Took us about 7 hours.

One of the most popular Hiking trail in Boquete area, we did it in rain season (AUGUST) and we where just by our own the complete morning. Also we had to plan a scheduled return for avoiding the rain storm and when reaching the Mirador we only where able to see foog. Nevertheless, the trail itself through ghe jungle is espectacular, the last big ramp until the mirador only for sporty people! 40 min up monster steps through the jungle hill! Whe just heard them from the distance but if you are lucky you can see the Howlers and Qutzales here.
Inigo Parra — Google review
Very nice trail through the middle of the jungle. The path is easy to find but you should be aware that you hike literally inside the jungle and without data service. But there a signs giving you a feeling of distance and that you are walking right. We took the path till the Mirador and then headed back. It took us about 4 hours. The last bit up the Mirador is very tough and you'll need to be fit as it takes you around 45 minutes more or less very steep uphill. I really liked the trail itself, however the view from the Mirador isn't THAT stunning. If you like hiking you should do the trail anyway.

We had a really nice walk here. The trail is easy to follow and along the way you can find some Quetzales, you have to be a bit lucky though. They are high up in the trees and difficult to spot. The ranger told us from Boquete that there is no entrance fee, which was nice. Also, busses/taxi’s don’t stop frequently at this place, you should walk down 20 minutes to the ‘lost waterfall hike’ and catch a bus there.

Wow wow wow.
We saw female quetzal (despite being out of season), woodpeckers, parrots and even chlorophonias, as well as red tailed hawks and many others.
The plants are amazing, too.
Very beautiful and short hike up the trail to a waterfall. The waterfall isn't so impressive, but the jungle hike is very pretty. And there's always a chance of encountering a Quetzal!
Arnon Cahen — Google review
Great hike. Admission was $5 per person. The hike is rated easy to moderate. Trip starts out on an old gravel road that is somewhat washed out in sections but very walkable. About mid way, it changes to a path that is clearly marked and easy to follow. We took 3 hours to hike in and back and took our time (seniors). It's a very good hike if you're looking for something easier than the 3 waterfalls hike in this same area.

Moderately easy hike through the jungle. To get there we took the bus from the town up to the beginning of the trail. There you pay 5$ and ‘sign in’ by giving some basic information. The hike is one trail up and down so you can’t get lost. Whilst there isn’t much wildlife, the trees and plants are stunning. Particular highlights are the 1000 year old tree, and the beautiful waterfall that marks the end of the trail - a great place to dip your head under and cool down before returning.
The whole hike we kept our heads up to find a quetzal and our attempts paid off when we saw one fly past the 1000 year old tree ( apparently there’s a nest inside it) and later on when a group before us had spotted one sat in a tree next to the trail. They had spotted it by recognising the sound of it and then stopping to locate it so if you’re hoping to find one yourself then do your research on how they sound! It’s a beautiful animal and a beautiful hike

Totally not worth the 5$ emtrance fee per person. We picked up som trash on trail. This hike should be for free... along the trail you will see nothing interesting just pipeline... at the end you will see waterfall. That's it...

Great hike. Definitely more on the easy (vs moderate side). It is gradually uphill all the way out, then downhill on the return. The end of the trail was a little unclear, but we were able to get to the tall waterfall.

Had a really nice hike. I went with a guide who offered a lot of neat information and helped spot birds even though it was a bit out of season for the Quetzal.
For the trial itself it is very clear (although I'm told there is a washout near the end which I didn't get to). There is a thousand year old tree which was neat. The hike is easy but it is a bit of a drive out of the town. There are a few points where you get a bit of a view but do this hike to see the birds and forest not for views.

We started this hike at 11:30am and finished it around 2:30pm. Entrance fee was $5 per person (for us). I consider myself a fit individual and with the elevation it wasn’t that easy of a hike. The rocks can be very slippery and wobbly, uneven ground. You must pay attention to where you’re stepping. There is a sign that says “no pase peligro ” towards the end of the trail , you must go past that several feet to see the actual waterfall. You go on this hike to enjoy the jungle views of Panamá. As well as to see the impressively old tree. It was very pretty, seeing all the plants, flowers, and trees. Wear good sturdy shoes, and be prepared for rain. Bring snacks, and water.

Path to waterfall is closed and rather dangeroes. Still it is possible to go there by continuing the track after the end of track sign. Waterfall is quite high but not as pritty as during the lost waterfall trail. Also, the hiking is through less dense forest than with the waterfall trail. The 1000 year old tree is insanely big (see picture). I do recomment this trail (5$ pp) but the lost waterfall trail (10$) and il pianista (free but guide advised; however possible with good preparation) are more beautifull.

Well-maintained hiking trail along a river and a pipeline. Our hike took just over 2 hours, although we weren't able to stop for photos much due to the heavy rain.
At the entrance is a friendly woman who will collect a $5 toll. She also gave us some helpful tips: there's a risk of mudslides during rainy season, but as long as the river runs clear, you're safe. The river turned muddy just as we reached the falls at the top, so we turned back right away. (See photos for clear vs. muddy).
The first km is a wide rocky path, but then you will start crossing the river every few minutes, across a footbridge, some rocks, fallen logs, and even a few sets of metal pipes. By then you'll be in dense forest with lots of beautiful tropical plants. We enjoyed the hike a lot, despite the rain! Wear grippy shoes if it's rainy season.

This is a great hike. About 20 minutes from town by car but the hike is worth it. We saw monkeys, sloth, exotic birds, and so much interesting vegetation. We paid for a guided hike with Boutique Outdoor Adventure and it was worth it since the local and historical knowledge was fantastic. Recommend.

Everyone says this is a nice easy trail. I have no idea what they are talking about. I'm a very fit 50 yr old and it was uphill on a very rocky path half the way and a less rocky but still difficult path where you need to watch your step. It might not be as steep and muddy as the 3 waterfall trail but I was out of breath after the first hour and still didn't reach the waterfall even after 1 hr 20 min. Unless you really like fast will take almost 2 hrs to reach the waterfall which is not that impressive. Lots of bubbling brooks along the way and nice crossings. We didn't see a single bird despite the beautiful weather, nor monkeys or any other fauna. If you go on this hike it's for the atmosphere, the jungle view, the beautiful flora and trees and bromeliads growing out of them. Plan for MINIMUM 3 hrs and more expensive than people say. The lady who owns the land now asks for $5/pp (everyone posts $3/pp) and the taxi from Boquete will cost about $10.

They have a tree over 1,000 years old which is real cool! The hidden waterfall at the end was nice. Have to cross some streams and there was also a fallen tree across the path closer to the waterfall, looked struck by lightning ⚡ you can climb over or squeeze under it fine. The waterfall itself is real pretty. The farmlands at the beginning of the hike were beautiful on the sunny day we visited! Saw baby cows and a big pig. You can buy drinks and snacks where you buy your ticket.
We stopped a few times, so this hike took us around 3 hours. We also did the 3 waterfalls hike beforehand. Took us maybe 15 minutes to walk from there to the pipeline trail. This one is flatter than 3 waterfalls but took us longer. We met others who did this hike in 1.5 hours, so it's possible to do it faster.

Don’t skip this! We went in March and seen a Quetzal and lots of other birds. It’s a very easy hike. It’ll take you roughly a hour to get to the waterfall. You can walk right up to it. And the 1,000 year old tree is amazing. Paid $5 per person which is no problem. It’s well worth it.
Nestled in the mountains of Panama, Boquete Bees and Butterflies is a unique biodynamic farm that not only grows coffee, fruits, and vegetables but also serves as a sanctuary for multiple species of bees. The farm's focus on organic honey production involves indigenous families and offers over 40 varieties of honey made with natural ingredients. Visitors can partake in a Honey and Bee tour to learn about the significance of bees while enjoying tastings.
This will be a highlight of your time in Boquete! A very beautiful sanctuary for seeing native Panamanian butterflies. We dropped in without a reservation and we're able to pay $12 for a private tour through the butterfly building where they tell you about their butterflies and plants, we were lucky to come at the right time and see butterflies up close that just hatched from their cacoons! There is a wonderful shop with wide selection of honey and souvenirs. Also honey tasting available by reservation, though I think best to do this a few days in advance as they were full the next day

Well worth your money to go on the VIP Tour. For $45 you get a beautiful view of their butterfly house, a well-informed bee tour around the location, and even a honey taste-testing part at the end of your trip. They had a nice store inside to buy honey, accessories, and other honey-derived products. They even had cute laminated butterfly earrings (made out of actual butterfly wings!). Great tour with Phillipe! We started off with learning about the variety of bees they had including their hives, how they function, types of bees along the property. Really informative! We then went through the butterfly house where they, I believe have 13 kinds of butterflies that they care for. The last stop was the honey tasting...really fun to taste the variety offered and to see where our tastebuds took us. All in all a fantastic tour.

I can thoroughly recommend the 2.5 hour VIP tour, which we did on a rainy afternoon. Quetzal, our guide, was incredibly knowledgeable about bees and butterflies and his tour kept our three kids (ranging 6 to nearly 13) interested throughout! The eldest isn't a fan of honey, but was happily tasting the different honeys after the tour (and said he was looking forward to the tasting!) and loved one of them so much he wanted to buy a jar to take home. All kids are saying this was one of the best things we have done in Panama and we have had a great time so far, so that says it all. As an aside we were waiting for our tour when we ran into several older people on the previous tour which was just finishing and they said how much they had enjoyed the tour and that it was really worth it, so this shows it is an experienced for all ages! It was just amazing!

We're staying in Boquete, so we booked a tour for the two of us and went there today. It was the most amazing experience! The son was our guide and did a great job in educating us about the animals and their story. The family is doing an incredible job taking care of all the rescued animals and you immediately sense their love and dedication for their job and the animals.
We got to feed and pet them which was awesome and we were even offered to stay after the 1 hour long tour to keep interacting with the animals if we'd like. Never have been so close to wildlife before, we got everything we expected and much more.
Of course you cannot expect it to be like a zoo with 100+ species (if you do and are disappointed, it's your own fault). We felt that it's definitely worth the price, even left another donation after the tour as it's for a good cause and we wanted to help out even if just a little.
Thank you for this unique encounter, we wish you and the animals all the best!

Dorothy, her daughter Danielle and the rest of their friends and family are God's gift to the local wildlife and they need your support.
Come and visit and learn the story of how this wildlife refuge was started and how many wounded and abused animals they have restored to health and returned to their native habitat.
Danielle is enchanting and charming as she introduces you to every animal currently in the refuge and tells the bitter sweet story of their condition upon arrival up to their release. Many of the birds are unable to survive in the wild and have lived in the refuge for years. You can see and feel the love that is shared between the family and the animals.
Besides the personal stories you learn all about how each species lives in their natural habitat.
If you are an animal lover or want to know more about wildlife in a tropical rain forest, then this place is a must see.
And remember, whether you pay for the full tour or just want to make a small donation and walk around, your contribution will pay for the food and medicine to help this facility in their ongoing mission to protect and preserve our local wildlife!

Because I’m a foreigner, I have to pay $25. Locals pay $10. So, for 3 adults and a child I should pay $85. Unfortunately, I don’t have that kind of money so we left. My 4 year old was crying. It was sad. They obviously dont care about the animals or that they had her in tears.
Truly sad. It’s not donation based like their website says. If it was donation based, you would charge everyone the same price. But, of course in Panama you pay the Grigo price.
It’s a total money crab. POOR PONEY at the entrance. It’s RIBS WERE POPPING OUT. It was malnourished. No food. No water. Tied up. So sad. Even Zoo animals get better treatment.
Apparently, the owner lives in a Big house(owner got offended with the word mansion) down the road.
UPDATE: I find it COMICAL that the owner does NOT address
1) Gringo price
2) RIBS showing and MALNOURISHED PONY
3) WHY the money does not have water
4) Only seemed to focus on the big house she lived on.
5) Says my daughter is free when I told her I can’t afford the Gringo price for me and my husband
6) WEBSITE lied. It’s not donation based!
The Sarcasm is not a good look ma’am

We loved visiting this animal rescue. Dorothy, Flo, and the kids put a lot of effort into caring for these injured, sick, and abandoned animals.
Our tour lasted about two hours, during which we were able to play with a pair of monkeys, some sleepy owls, a few goats and a pony, ducks, turtles, a nosy coati, and some gorgeous parrots. There are also lots of cats and dogs. Keep in mind that the animals will change depending on when you go, because Dorothy releases the animals once they are healthy.
This was a fantastic way to encounter some rainforest wildlife. Your tour fee or donation goes toward food and medicine for the animals. Pay them a visit while you're in Boquete. You won't regret it!

Great little rescue facility with a couple of Spyder monkeys and lots of exotic birds. The hostess was informative and extremely thourough. There is an entry fee and donations are also appreciated.
Nestled in the picturesque highlands of Chiriqui, Boquete is a charming mountain town that has become a sought-after destination for those seeking cooler climates. The town offers an array of outdoor activities, including exploring a volcano, river adventures, and mountain forest hikes. Boquete Brewing Company is a popular spot among both locals and expats, offering cold beer and live music for an enjoyable nightlife experience.
Visited during the week and on Saturday. Good beer and good ambiance. As a dark beer/ stout lover it would be great if you had a selection....Then again it might not make economical sense if only for a few. Thank you for the entertainment... Good tunes Thanks

We didn't care much for the beer, but the atmosphere was great which we kept coming back for! There was also a delicious burger and fries we had from the yellow truck on the patio. The music is also a plus at night!

Best place in Boquete for an adult beer and live music. Most seating is outdoors but covered with a food truck available. The house band is amazing!

Good local brewery. We visited 5 years earlier and to be honest it was a calmer experience and the actual brewers were there and great to talk to.
It was just younger staff now who were nice enough but not as talkative to a non Spanish speaker. However, the beers remain great and they have a great selection in their fridge that you can choose from too.

Fun evening hangout! Great selection of beers and you can order flights of 4 to try a range of them - some really interesting ones including the coffee (porter) and strawberry beer. We went on a Wednesday and there was live music, if you play an instrument or sing you can put your name down to join in which was cool. Great atmosphere and really nice place to spend the evening socialising

We came here a couple of times, in the afternoon it is super nice to sit outside on the rocking bench to enjoy the sunset and music. They have a food truck outside that sell fried food- burger- wings. The restrooms were a bit dirty.

Good mood and atmosphere. A musical evening with a glass of beer, which I did not expect. Came just to have a glass of beer, but got stuck for 1.5 hours)). Good choice of beer, food truck. Tables with swings.

A cool place to hang out and have some beers. All of my friends agrees that their brews were really good. The cider is also a nice option for the ladies that don't want to have beer. They sometimes have a live band playing to tributes which is also nice.

Do not go here. This could be such a nice place to go to. You have a brewery, so should be a nice experience. Well it’s not at all. The bartenders are not interested or friendly or helpful. Expensive place. Never again

Beer is great and the location, but the staff really let the place down, you feel like you are bothering them when you order a beer, no warmth, no involvement or interaction. I visit many breweries and always the staff are knowledgeable about the beers served and share guidance, not just stand around trying to look cool. I can buy the beer down the street and bring home for a better atmosphere and save time and money. Visiting the brewery adds no value.

Feels and functions exactly like an American brewery. Cool outdoor space. We got a flight to try 4 beers and they were all bad. Music did not match the vibe. Food truck had no vegetarian options.

I was really looking forward to visiting Boquete Brewing! I think your mileage may vary. Here's mine.
Staff - The guys working the two bars were fine. The lady working the main bar seemed irritated that any customers were arriving. I ordered a beer and then after pouring it she says it has a special price. $6+ not $3.75. I took a photo of the wall. No mention anywhere regarding a special price for anything on the wall.
Vibe - Overall a cool place. Good vibes and I think live music would be cool here. The only negative is that for some reason the generator outside kicked on midway through our visit. No idea why since all other establishments had power but maybe there was an issue. Minor thing really.
Food - Skip the food truck completely. Terrible. It's the equivalent to a Sysco truck. Premade burgers with no flavor, the worst fries I have ever had. I wish I had taken a photo to warn others.
So overall, good beer, one person on the service team cared more about talking to her coworkers than customers, decent vibe.

Great boutique beer spot with friendly staff, good priced drinks and SOURS for the cervesa specialists out there. Loads of seats and tables, some cool swinging chairs, bean bag toss game, dog friendly, family friendly… this place has it all!
Band started at 8:30pm on the Thursday night we were there. Great 90’s & 00’s rock otherwise. Food Truck was great also!
I’ll be back! Maybe even tonight… 😁

Awesome place! It was definitely one of our highlights in Boquete. Great selection of craft beers, and cool foodtrucks on site (burgers are delicious, ask for the mustard sauce for the fries). Staff is very friendly and personal with the guest - come once and you become part of the family ❤️

We have had a good experience with all other bars in Boquete. This one was horrible. The guy and girl behind the bar were not friendly what so ever. We tried to initiate conversation with them. Just saying hello. How are you things like that.. they completely ignored us. One occasion they wouldn’t even look at us. No one else was at the bar and they just refused to serve us just stared at their phones. No smiles. No attentiveness. Just simply rude. We tried 3 different times to see if the mood would change and every time they were just as rude. They made us feel very uncomfortable and very unwelcomed. The other poor reviews on here from 1-2 years ago were the exact situation my boyfriend and I experienced. We will not be coming back. If you want a good bartender experience go to butcher and Giselle.

Good brewery in Boquete. We had two flights and tried almost everything they had, and every beer was good. A clean and friendly atmosphere, definitely worth checking out if you're in the area and want some good craft beer!

I have been in Boquete since April 2023 and I find this the BEST place for listening to music, and having drinks with food. They have a hostel named "Blasina Beer Hostel" which has been remodeled which adds to your stay in Boquete.
This is a whimsical, charming and enchanting garden off the beaten path. My wife and I really enjoyed our time wandering through the few acres of the property. It is owned and managed by a lovely older local woman who lives in a small house on the property with her son. Don't expect anything fancy, commercial or touristy - it's just a large garden lovingly cared for by a slightly eccentric person who loves nature and whimsy.
The owner is super friendly and totally devoted to her "eco park". She speaks only Spanish but does so slowly and clearly such that my wife and I with our limited Spanish could easily understand her.
Along with the many plants, flowers and trees are "found" art objects made from recycled/obsolete items, arranged in cute displays. There are also her animals including a lovely large chocolate Labrador Retriever who loves to be petted, a slightly moody goat, a raft of exotic chickens and several cats.
The owner was kind enough to tour us through her private "magical garden" where she cares for her bonsai-inspired miniature trees and plants. She also showed us her private home.
We had no problem paying the $5 each as it no doubt provides her with some income as well as offsets her costs of maintaining the property.
This is a small treasure worth visiting.

Beautiful tranquil garden, so relaxing and the smell of flowers everywhere! It's up on a hill so the views are breathtaking, especially on a clear day. There are a few cute ducks in a pond. Also a few friendly dogs that will keep you company on your walk.

Cool spot to go and take small kids. It had a nice path through the gardens of the property with rabbits, goats, chickens, ducks, and friendly dogs that live there. Also, a cool area with swings, slides, and a trampoline for the kids to play. Definetly worth the $3 price of admission.

Consider exploring the Biblioteca de Boquete, a wonderful destination that offers an abundance of knowledge and valuable resources. It is highly recommended to pay a visit to this local library in order to uncover hidden gems within its collection. This establishment is perfect for those seeking solace and tranquility, making it an ideal spot for a peaceful afternoon alone. Additionally, the Biblioteca de Boquete serves as an excellent source of information regarding the surrounding community and area.
I was here many years ago and this market was considerably smaller. But now more gringos come and sell their wares so it has expanded.
There are really three areas. One is in a building that is attached to the Flower Festival place. In there I found lots of vendors. Some selling things you can't get here like Scentsy etc. Others were selling their own wares. There were pots, photos, clothing, cooking items, souveniers etc.
Some of the charities set up there accepting donations and making their charity known. Willing to take volunteers as well.
There is a woman who is selling incredible quilting items. Really they are pieces of art. Beautiful. Her quilt of Klimt's 'The Embrace', brought tears to my eyes. It was gorgeous. I am going to ask her if she will make me one but of Klimt's, 'The Kiss'. They were reasonably priced for all the work that goes into it.
I bought some bacon here from a local vendor. It was 7$ for some of the best bacon I have ever had. I got 12 pieces for that price. Well worth it.
I also met Lyn from Quetzal Cacao. Be warned!! If you love chocolate, (who doesn't) this will be off the charts of any type of chocolate you have ever tried.
She does the whole process with a very small staff. From planting to harvesting to grinding to making the best damn chocolate you will ever taste. It is more than your Hersey bar will cost but it is MORE than worth it. You can become a chocolate club member where you will get chocolate on a monthly subscription. She suggests that each delivery should last until the next but it sure wouldn't in my house, that's for sure.
The market straight down from the bridge is more of a souvenir market. Local indigenous and other local people are selling there. I found the items to be beautiful but suspected they were a bit higher priced in this tourist town. Still some lovely work.
Then there is the market at the TapOut. This was a mixture of various local and gringo vendors.
I hear the yogurt is awesome here but I have never gotten there early enough to get any. I did buy some incredible Thai Green Pea Curry soup. The container I bought gave me three meals. Such a deal!
I am going back tomorrow to see what else I can find. It is a fun time.

Eh it was lots of souvenirs similar to what you get in South America Andes. Fluffed alpacas are more expensive here, but maybe you can negotiate lower. If you're heading south, get them in Ecuador or maybe Colombia is cheap too (I've not been yet), but I think paying $5-10 more if you want em is a good deal still. For comparison of prices if you want a good deal or don't mind paying a few dollars more: I got a big fluff alpaca in Ecuador for $15, small ones for $5, they were asking for double here. The nice fleece zip-ups and pullovers are $20 in Ecuador, good fleece ponchos are $15 (don't ask how many fleeces and fluff alpacas I have 😂).
The expat booths were tourist prices, the local souvenir booths were normal prices I've seen of similar souvenirs. Tiny arepas for $1.50. Sourdough bread for $6-7 (I've gotten loafs for $2 in bakeries, but it's not common to find bakeries with sourdough bread in Central America!). You cross a bridge with pretty views of the water and a topiary garden on the way. I didn't spend a lot of time at the market itself, it's not big.

Los Ladrillos is a captivating destination for rock climbers and photography enthusiasts. This location boasts numerous walls with a plethora of climbing routes to explore. However, it is disheartening to witness graffiti on these walls, urging the municipality to take action by eradicating such markings and implementing signs that discourage defacement of the rocks, thus fostering nature preservation and respect. For an exceptional climbing experience, it is highly recommended to book tours with the esteemed "Panama Rock Climbing" company.

This an amazing, easy level, and stupendous trail for beginners. You probably take no more than 90 minutes going up to reach the waterfall. Get ready to get watery your shoes, your effort deserves it. There's an entrance fee for administrative and maintenance or in case of an emergency. During the way uphill you will have the opportunity to bring back home a lot of pictures. Finally there's not any cell phone signal availability so you will enjoy a complete wilderness experience so avoid any risk of injuries and follow the rules of the trail.

BAJO MONOd CAMPING SITE in Boquete offers more than just a cabin for rent; it serves as the starting point for the exhilarating Tres Cascades hiking trail. This picturesque and challenging hike involves some rock climbing with assistance from ropes, particularly during the rainy season when mud is prevalent. The entire journey takes around three hours, leaving visitors completely exhausted by its end. While not suitable for young children, they can still enjoy a less intense hike up to the first waterfall.
There is a cabin here to rent but what this really is is the trailhead for the Tres Cascades (3 Waterfalls) hiking trail. It's a beautiful and really vigorous hike. Some climbing with rope assist - lots of mud at the end of rainy season. Total 3 hours in and out. Completely exhausted at the end. Not recommended for small kids - maybe just to the 1st waterfall. Pretty advanced hike.

I don't know why all of the reviews (many are old reviews) claim this is a great trail. It's a 20 minute hike on a dirt road, not a trail, through farmland, and then you arrive at a small waterwall. Nothing special.
Although I'm a local and have paid $3 for this trail in the past (not worth it either), I tried to bring my visiting family, and the lady at the head of the trail tried to charge $5 per person! I explained that I'm a local and that I had never paid $5, nor would I be willing to pay that for a 20 minute hike in farmlands. She was rude, and we left. Absolutely a waste of time. Go to one of the other beautiful trails and save your money from this short, boring hike.
PJ — Google review
I was with the other recent reviewers at this trail and I saw the reply from the owner. I figured I'd add a few things worth mentioning:
- it was not closed as the reply claimed
- nobody said it was closed, in fact both people we spoke to said it was open (and so does Google)... instead they tried to charge $5 per person. That's ok, they can try to charge whatever they wish, as this is private property, but then that's exactly why we can write reviews, so others know that it is (apparently only for certain people) $5 for a 20 minute walk... They can make their own decision on whether that is worth it.
- The people present were in no way "abusive" as the reply claimed. In fact, we were quite cordial and politely replied that we had always paid $3 in the past, and that if it was $5 each person, we'd go to a different trail. Nothing rude on our side of the conversation at all
If you want to see a tiny waterfall and pay that much for walking a dirt road for 20 minutes, that's ok too
Edit to add: not sure why the replier for this place is doubling down on saying they were closed, instead of addressing the fact that the owner literally quoted us a price to hike their road. In any case, I guess they decided to close for COVID today. That is good because it will save people from catching COVID in the fresh air of the outdoors 👍🏼
