Maenam Beach on Ko Samui is a laid-back, several kilometers long stretch of coastline lined with palm trees, rental bungalows, and restaurants. It faces north into the Gulf of Thailand from the island's north-central coast and offers deeper waters for adult swimmers compared to other beaches on the island. This beach provides a peaceful and serene atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for families with children looking to swim and sunbathe in shallow waters.
It is a clean and pretty beach but there's not a lot to do!
Bhuvi G — Google review
Probably most of it is rather clean and cared for since sections of the beach are being maintained by the adjacent hotels.
The sections that are being vacant, further down the beach close to the Lomprayah pier, are a complete nightmare. There’s trash everywhere. Nobody feels responsible because the hotel owners don’t look right or left. Also there’s plastic glitter everywhere, probably from New Year’s. I am baffled how you could use glitter when you’re next to the sea and the majority ends up in water.
It’s quite cynical when you’re at the pier and there’s banners asking for eco-friendly packaging due to trash. And then the whole beach looks like the pics attached.
I think we might have seen a few people doing an effort cleaning up but if it wasn’t for the tourists, there wouldn’t be clean beaches at all.

Lovely quiet beach with a nice view of Koh Pha-ngan on the horizon. It's a beautiful and quiet part of Koh Samui. It's only a bit far from where everything happens on the island.

beautiful beach, very good for relaxation and leisurely walks in the evening, lots of colorful people

The beach looks nice on the pictures and it is cleaned ⛱️ - but! the water is not clear and there is dirty river comming isto the sea every 100m..😣so there is foam and greese in the sea..I am surprised and disappointed because all the comments about this beach were so good.. 😢

Pretty mediocre beach, with a lot of garbage laying around. Some hotels clean the sand in front of them but most don't bother or do not do it frequently enough.
There are much better beaches around especially on the east side of the island (particularly Crystal, Choengmon and Chaweng). Also full of garbage (so sad), but much nicer with soft white sand.
Gabor Aczel — Google review
An amazing, quite and out of the way beach. It’s tricky to get to, scooter is preferred. But once you are there, it’s heaven.
The waters are mostly safe to bath and swim.
Warwick (The Saucy Mare) — Google review
Very nice beach, not the best but very nice and quiet.
Michal Vydarený — Google review
There's no doubt that this is the quietest main beach on Samui. There is no person in sight at all, other than a couple of guys bringing out their dogs out for a walk. The sand is a little more on the coarser side, so it may not be the most comfortable to lie on, although there are hotels and resorts where one can stay along to relax without getting sandy. The beach is relatively clean but it can get narrow at certain stretches, so abit too near to the waves to lie down. You'll have to bring your own mat cause there are none laid down by any accommodation on the sandy beach. Although very beautiful, one will feel a bit solitary lying there alone, unless you're specifically looking for something like that. There is nary a pub, cafe or drinking place on the stretch, so that contributes to the quietude you'll definitely get when you're around.
Aloysius Chia — Google review
Very nice beach on the north side of Koh Samui. The sand on the beach feels very soft and there are plenty of palm trees along the beach. The beach is very long. It is possible to rent jet skis here also. Unfortunately there are quite many algae in the water which made swimming not soo nice.

Absolutely ridiculously and embarrassingly dirty, 3 days straight
Samui Disc Golf is a great place for beginners or intermediate players to enjoy a game of frisbee golf. The course is set in a pleasant location with palm trees adding an extra challenge. While the holes may be short, it doesn't detract from the fun and enjoyment of playing. Visitors are advised to bring their own discs, especially harder plastics due to the warm weather conditions.
Must place for disc golfers when visiting Samui or near by islands! Nigel and his family will always make you feel welcomed.
kastorix — Google review
We had the opportunity to play here. The course has 11 holes. Most are short somewhat technical. I wish the owner would keep it as the tournament layout with 18 holes +. Would have given it 5 stars. However, I am happy to have had an opportunity to play here, knowing the pros play yearly tournaments here.

My husband was getting golf withdrawal systems so he was so chuffed to find this place while out exploring! It was great fun -I can’t kick a football far but can hold my own with a frisbee 🤣-even managed to win two holes -a few nicely placed coconut trees helped my cause 🤣 Air was a bit blue after my husbands shots 🤣🤣 Really recommend, really reasonably priced and great fun -you can go around as many times as you like! Worth spraying mosquito 🦟 spray before you attempt the course😁

Had the chance to go play today and it was great! Plenty of loaner discs, not too hard to play, place was beautiful!
Owner was super to chat with highly recommend for anyone who wants try a fun activity and for any discgolfer it is a pretty cool setup! Thanks for having us!!

This is a nice beginner to intermediate course in a nice setting and friendly atmosphere. The holes are quite short on average but palm trees create some challenge. Definitely worth bringing some discs for of you are traveling to Koh Samui. Remember to bring your harder plastics though, as it is always very warm!

First time playing Disc golf and my friends and I had alot of fun. 300 Bart entry but you can play all day, 11 hole corse with varied difficulty. The owner is very friendly and some very happy dogs live here :)

Nice Disc Golf Course, a lot of obstacles (palms, trees and bushes) and Mando‘s, not very long holes, most of them in the shade, very friendly hostage from Nigel and the local members. Absolutely recommendable, a must to play for every Disc Golfer

Must play course for disc golfers going to Koh Samui!
All 11 holes are par 3, so it’s a bit short, but it’s also challenging with a lot of trees.
We had a nice talk with Nigel that owns the course - go and support his course🥏🌴🙌🏼

Super fun course on Samui! 11 holes with different skill sets and lots of place to walk around as well as shade. Fun day out especially when it is a bit cooler in the day.

WOW... What a great time. Nigel the owner and his family operate this gorgeous peaceful course.. The beers are cold and the food is delicious when available. Tons of discs for your use at a great price.. Definitely my favorite way to spend a morning or evening hour of fun. The entire staff couldn't be nicer... Cheers and happy discing to you!!!
The Maenam Morning Market is an exceptional and newly-made marketplace that offers an authentic Thai experience. It boasts a wide array of fresh produce including fruits, vegetables, fish, meat, tofu, and bean sprouts. Additionally, there are three vendors specializing in delectable homemade coconut milk which not only saves time but also adds to the overall deliciousness. The market also provides abundant drinking coconuts at unbeatable prices.
Fantastic fresh market!
The feeling of real Thailand for me.
A great selection of fresh fruits, vegetables, fish and meat, tofu, bean sprouts and so much more. Three booths sell fresh coconut milk, so delicious and saves you alot of work if you make it yourself. Drinking coconuts are in abundance too and the cheapest we found in Samui (10/15/20 baht)
Few Breakfast/ tea/ coffee/ shakes stalls, all smells great. Some traditional Thai dessert booths as well.
The restroom near parking lot is very clean (and free). Enough space to park your bike around the market or parking lot. There's a traffic policeman outside the market, very helpful.
Perfect morning market, another strong reason that makes me wish I lived here.
I was too shy to take photos 🙈

If you are morning person this is the market for you fresh local food, meat, seafood, vegetables etc. all in one included prepared food of course all Thai food. I prefer this market cause you can find local ingredients, herbs, vegetables, fruits and seafood with reasonable price. Are you looking for western food? Don't come here.
Gadey Sicha — Google review
Good choice of local fresh produce. A few eateries are there too offering local fare. Suitable for a local breakfast. Try the local coffee and half-boiled eggs done to your liking (a little stall at the garment's section).

I really like this local morning market with cheapest price on fresh fruits, meats and coconuts, can buy coconut just for 10 baht. Durian for 100 baht per kilo. Have a restaurant and parking for cars and bikes.

Maenam morning market is definitely worth a visit! It's open from 5am - 11am every morning, and packed with stalls selling an incredible variety of delicious and unique items. From local fruits and organic produce to freshly cooked Thai food and exotic artisan crafts, you're sure to find something that catches your eye! The atmosphere is bustling and filled with a vibrant energy, and the locals are always warm and welcoming. Prices are very reasonable, making it easy to sample a variety of dishes and products. Overall, Maenam morning market is a great place to take in the culture and flavors of the area, and sample local specialties you won't find anywhere else. Highly recommended!

The Tan Rua Waterfall is a picturesque tourist attraction located near the Mae Nam Viewpoint. You can reach it by walking up some old wooden steps and following a path through trees. The waterfall cascades down from high up in the hills, surrounded by lush green foliage. There are multiple sections of falls to explore, and you can even climb over rocks while holding onto a rope to get closer to them. The road leading up to the waterfall is steep but manageable on a scooter.
Well maintained hiking trails to this lovely waterfall, both a low & high route, easy to follow. The access road is quite steep at times. We took our car but most visitors use a scooter. We really enjoyed our hiking time & enjoyed some drinks afterwards at the Tree House. A couple used the Zip Line while we were there & appeared to have fun. Nice spot overall.

Great location great people. Getting to it abit difficult on moped but do able. Its quite hilly so just you are aware.
Zip lining was really good guides are awesome and was a beautiful experience. Would recommend can chill in cafe area for cold drinks and lounging area.
We didn’t see waterfalls but next time maybe.
Joe Clark — Google review
Lovely waterfall many pools to swim and paddle in.
Short walk from the road past a coffee place in a tree.
The tree bridge cafe was open and being renovated when we went.
Rohan Mckee — Google review
The cafe is kinda like hanging out in a tree house with pretty drinks. The star by far is the kitchen staff (about 1km from the cafe). The chef saw me walking aimlessly, called me a cab and made me the best spring roll of my life. It was perfectly crispy, BIG and the ratio of filling to wrap was perfect.
There are two waterfalls here (40 minutes roundtrip with stops) and a Zipline course. The Zipline tour can be done with four or eight Ziplines, 1,200 Bhat and 1,800 Bhat respectively. Overall fun experience--there's something there for everyone.
Lauren Johnson — Google review
I think it’s not really a waterfall, but definitely a beautiful place to visit, especially while they make their way to waterfall, unique by making tree bridges
So don’t expect to see a waterfall, but you will enjoy the beauty of the nature for sure

We had a great day. We found this place on the map, decided not to take a guide, and went by taxi ourselves. we walked to two waterfalls, took a zipline ride and had a lot of fun. The downside is mosquitoes, a lot of mosquitoes.

What a beautiful spot in nature!
A short walk of about 10 minutes will take you to two waterfalls.
There is a nice cafe near the falls that offers a variety of drinks. After visiting the waterfall, the cafe has a stunning view, and it's a great place to relax.
Nir Bitton — Google review
Nice waterfall that is worth visiting. The road to the waterfall is quite steep but it is possible to reach by scooter. If you arrived at the destination, don’t follow the sign that says ‘secret waterfall’, there is nothing there. Instead go into the direction of the tree bridge cafe and the zip line. There’s also a bar and a restaurant close by to go for a drink or something to eat.
Lau “Remotevagabond. com” — Google review
The road to the nice waterfall is sometimes very steep, but no problem with a scooter.
Not much water at the moment so seeing the 1st waterfall is the better choice. The way down is rocky and steep so watch your steps! You shouldn't go there, without a mosquito repellent! The same trail leads to the Zippline, the Tree Cafe and the Waterfall 1+2.
Michael W. — Google review
We loved this place. There is a cafe on the tree with bridges connecting different locations. Also, since we visited it last time a couple of months ago it was maintained heavily and now it has zip lines.
We liked the waterfalls' views too.
You can order drinks and food here as well.
Great place to take young kids!
Sheep and old goats are friendly!
Also one of several hydroponic farms on Samui.
Jim P — Google review
We visited the park today, but it was very run down. Needs a bit of money spent in it to bring it up to a good standard. Especially on the sheep statues! The "Salad bar" was not open. The service was very poor from the Thai lady who we gave our entry money to. She grunted when we asked for a drink and walked away. No drinks avaliable or food fyi. However, well maintained grass and a bit of fun if you want to kill an hour with your kids! A real pity as has so much potential to be great!
Suzanne Robbins — Google review
TERRIBLE! Awfull! This sheep farm is the worst place to come with children.
We came here to feed sheeps and rabbits. 3 sheeps were walking in the garden. But when we bought carrot for then. One of them ( the biggest one) started to behave aggressively. She jumped on the chest of my husband ( he hold carrots) with her front hooves. Ok it's grown man. And if would be my 3 year old sun? Or me, holding up 1 year old daughter? Then sheep started to run and butt, and it was actual attack, not a game. 5 minutes I tried to cross the field with two children while sheep was running to my husband. Well what can I say? Stained t-shirt, frightenned child and bad mood it is the result of this trip. If the animal is so agressive it shouldn't walk near children.

VWin Gym offers an exceptional experience in training Muay Thai. The instructors are friendly and provide excellent guidance. Whether you're a beginner or have been practicing for a while, they cater to your level of expertise and offer personalized one-on-one sessions. The gym also conducts group classes in the morning and afternoon, making it convenient for everyone. They pay close attention to individual needs, ensuring that any injuries or limitations are taken into consideration during the workouts.
I trained mainly in morning group classes for 2 weeks. Not many people in the morning, but sometimes that's a good thing. Some group classes feels like private classes. If you want to work on something specific, talk to your teacher. Thank you 🙏

Fantastic experience! I have done a little Muay Thai for 6 months and Manu was great. Got there at 8 in the morning and I was lucky enough to have one-on-one training. Manu got a feel for where I was at and pushed me where he could, and paced me/taught me where I needed help. Overall an amazing experience and highly recommend.

Fantastic gym! The gym is less than 100 yards from the beach, so you have an awesome setting to train in. They have 3 training sessions available throughout the day. I was lucky enough to be there on a night when there were not many students. A friend and I got one on one training with our own instructors. The training is very technique oriented, not just smashing pads. The focus is on good footwork, balance, and working the techniques from both left and right lead. Even though it is technical training you will get an excellent workout, with lots of time hitting the pads and bags. If you are in Koh Samui and love muay thai don't miss the opportunity to train here!
Wat Na Phra Lan is a small yet stunning Buddhist temple located near Maenam's pier. The temple offers a serene and tranquil atmosphere, making it an ideal place for meditation and relaxation. Visitors can enjoy the clean and peaceful surroundings, with the gentle sound of waves adding to the ambiance. Unlike some other touristy temples, Wat Na Phra Lan appears to cater more to the local community. The duty monk is known for being friendly, offering blessings with lustral water in a separate Sala.
A very beautiful Buddhist temple right on the beach. Surrounding is clean and extremely quite except for the sound of the gentle waves. Perfect place for some meditation. It is only when the Lomprayah ferries arrive or leave from the Maenam beach that there is some bustle in the area. Apart from that it is the perfect place to unwind or spend some romantic moments.

As compared to some of the other Wats in major “touristy” areas; this temple appears to cater to the locals area. The duty monk in a separate Sala (relative to the ornate and closed Ubosot) where merit making happens was very friendly. Felt great after receiving a blessing of lustral water.

An absolutely brilliant experience! This was my first time trying out Muay Thai and I loved every sweat soaked minute of it 😅 i had a 1-1 lesson and my coach took the time to cover the basics with no gloves and then move to 4, 3 minutes rounds with gloves. I consider myself quite fit but this workout humbled me - in a good way! Great local gym ran by passionate and welcoming trainers. Highly recommended for an authentic experience👌

Great gym for fighters looking to focus and train, not many people so most sessions are practically a private lesson
Bon and N are the best. For sure coming back next time I’m on the island
After a steep climb with motorbike you need to do the last 300 meters on foot. It's a pretty easy walk. I'm a big fella and did it without hardly breaking a sweat. What once was a restaurant is now closed and deserted. Whoever once looked after the viewpoint seems to have gone into hiding or lost interest due to no tourist's, but the view itself is worth the hike! You will have an amazing view over Maenam and will also se the Santiburi golf course. Recommended!
