Anse Intendance is a remote beach located in the south of Mahe, Seychelles. It can be accessed through a forest trail or by car and bus. The beach features strong surf and blue waters that are rough for swimming but perfect for surfing. Visitors can relax under palm trees on fine white sand but should bring their own food and water as there are no restaurants or vendors nearby. Anse Intendance is easily accessible from the Banyan Tree resort road and offers breathtaking sunset views.
Beautiful place. Very gradual entrance to the water without stones, corals and algaes. One little bar, but without showers and WC. But The road to the beach is wery hilly - no comfortable for walking -> use a car, if you are not accomodated very near by.

Nice beach is about to be destroyed !
Somebody will earn much money with new apartments and hotel directly behind the beach. How government is protecting nature on this fantastic beach?

For us this is far the most beautiful beach on the Seychelles!
Easily accessible by car, a public parking is very close. There is a small grill bar that opens around noon. Great place for snorkeling

This is a beautiful beach, but the waves were so high that we couldn't actually swim, it was even hard to get closer to the ocean. There are no facilities despite the very cheerful Summer Bar where they make wonderful fruit cocktails from frech fruits.
Balazs Zentai — Google review
It looks absolutely beautiful, but there is active construction going on so you constantly hear the noise rather than enjoying the smooth sound of the waves.
The waves are quite harsh, and beach is quite steep.
But the view is absolutely gorgeous.

Not really a swimming beach, nonetheless amazing. Big waves, decent sunset view, and it's empty most of the time. Banyan tree resort in right there so you can go and grab some food or drinks. Watch out for the falling coconuts, you don't want one of those to hit you on the head - on the bright side: finders keepers!

Easily accessible from the road near Banyan tree resort, Anse Intendance has blue waters but rough for swimming, fine while sand and palm trees for resting in shade. Located in south, a bit far if you staying in North of Mahe. The beach has rich thick vegetation but absolutely no restaurants or vendors so carry food and water. Easily accessible by own car or there is a bus stop nearby
Bhakti Menon — Google review
Be careful. Google maps instructions for this beach are pretty bad, took us to a completely wrong and dangerous place, a dead end on a very steep road. Go through Banyan Tree resort road and search for "Intendance public parking" for better directions and not Anse Intendance. The beach is beautiful, but not much shade and also it is not advised to swim there, so not the best I have been in Mahé.
The Morne Blanc Trail offers a challenging yet rewarding hike through an old tea plantation and mist forest to reach a clifftop viewing platform with stunning sea views. The trail is marked from the road and the path is relatively clear, but sturdy footwear and ample water are necessary as some sections require scrambling. The summit provides spectacular panoramic vistas of the island that make the trek well worth it for those who are in good physical condition and take their time.
A stiff walk up to the summit of Morne Blanc will reward you with spectacular views of the island. The trail is signposted from the road and the track is reasonably clear. Took us about 40 minutes to reach the summit where there is a decent viewing platform. Wear sensible shoes, take plenty of water and watch your step as some parts of the trail are a bit of a scramble. If you are reasonably fit and take your time, the walk is well worth it

Awesome hike with breathtaking views at the end!!! There are quite some rocky and muddy steps to climb thru, however nothing really hard, just don't hurry and enjoy the nature around. The nature around is very colorful! The hike is a good idea to distract from the ocean for a while and enjoy nature. Parking is possible by the road sides at the entry point. Definitely worth visiting!

The trail is easy to follow, pretty steep climb but I got to the top in 45 minutes. Take it nice and slow on your way down; it’s a bit slippery when there’s loose earth.

This was a brilliant hike and would rate it as medium difficulty. Plenty of opportunities to take some great pics on the way up, tropical hike that is shaded the whole way. The view at the top is sensational!
Andy Smyth — Google review
Very cool hike! Don't be fooled by the 600m altitude on the sign - this is not the vertical climb, but really the absolute elevation of the viewpoint at the end. The actual climb is around 180m. Still, it's a lot of meters for a short hike, which means it's steep! But the view at the end is very well worth it 😉
Pascal Strupler — Google review
Invest yourself in a pair of good hiking shoes and you’re good to go, it can get quite steep! Don’t forget to look around, you might be lucky to spot some black snail on the trees. The view was breathtaking, although it was a little cloudy for us but it was totally worth the hike! Depending on your fitness, will take about 1-1.5hrs to get to the top!
Ai Kyen Goh — Google review
Trail is accessible via public bus. Limited parking on very narrow roads. Trail very well used and maintained. Steep stair climb (natural root and rock mostly) to a fantastic platform at the top. Would be a mess after rains.
Geririgged — Google review
The trail is short, but the slope at times very steep. It is not for beginners or those with a lack of fitness. The route leads through a forest - very interesting for nature lovers, especially botanists. Views from the platform at the end of the path absolutely magnificent! There are several illegal viewpoints near the end of the path. Using them is risky!

That was my first “big” hike. It’s not easy but definitely worth a try! Bring lots of water with you. For me it took 1 hour and 10 minutes to get up there , and 30 minutes to get down.

it is on the same road as Copolia and Morne Seychelles, and trois Ferrer's.

I yave done Copolia on one go but god that one is harder and lacks any breaks for rest .
the view from above is absolutely amazing for the western view of Mahe.
hiling boots very recommended.
2L of cold water is a needed.
morning hiking js recommended as when it gets noon, the Sun will reach you in some places.

Very picturesque trail in the jungle with lovely view from top. It is a hard one though. Not OK for people who never or hardly ever go hiking. Good shoes are a must, as well as lots of water!
Victoria Botanical Gardens is a picturesque nature reserve showcasing the stunning coco de mer palm trees, alongside housing giant tortoises and a spice orchard. It is an ideal place for families to explore while taking a break from busy city life. The gardens are well-maintained and offer visitors the opportunity to have picnics on its open lawn. Additionally, visitors can embark on tours of either the tea factory or Takamaka Rum Distillery to experience unique delights.
A must when you are in Victoria. Very well maintained. A good place for the hole family. You can have you picknick on the Open lawn.

Although the garden is small and the ticket expensive (250 SCR/person), I did not regret visiting it. There are many plant species that you can see there and of course the bats and birds and the big turtles 🐢 that are so cute and you can feed them with green leaves. When I visited the garden, I could only pay by card, the car parking next to the entrance was free and the garden was closing at 3.30pm.

À lot of abandoned spots.
Not really well maintained as it could be, especially few steps on the side of the main road.
Online payment is not working with Visa and Mastercard (error comes on the last step), but they don't mind.
No audio guides, very few information written about species.
Overall OK, but could be much better, especially for this price.

Awesome experience but there’s plenty of mosquitoes; BRING MOSQUITO REPELLENT! There were a bunch of tortoises there and the oldest/biggest one is 99years. The keeper brings you leafs to feed them which is nice and you can also pet them by rubbing their necks.

Lush trees and greenery, nice to visit, feels very natural and organic. Many trees and shrubbery and real soil under it all. Both paved and grassy paths to traverse. Includes a giant turtle enclosure/sanctuary which was good to experience

The botanical gardens can be easily reached by foot from the city center as it is very close (about 10 minute walk).
We were impressed by the different beautiful plants. Some of them you find just as inside plants in Europe :)
It was a nice experience to feed the giant tortoises with the provided leaves.
Bring a mosquito repellent.
The café was also nice and chilled. Loved the fresh fruit juice.

Beautiful gardens to walk around. The natural palm trees and orchids are well looked after and intriguing. The tortoises are a must. Grab yourself a refreshing cocktail/ drink at the cafe. The staff are lovely and friendly.

We enjoyed it. It was a great way to spend a rainy and cloudy morning. The gardens were well kept and maintained. Stick to the main path - many of the smaller footpaths were overgrown of difficult to follow. The café in the garden is a real treat! They also have a tortoise encloser where you can interact with them.
Maché De Jonge — Google review
The price for the entry is really high, but what is not on the Seychelles. You will get inside huge botanical garden with lot of flowers. We really liked the turtles with open space where you can pet them. We disliked that you do not know where to go or what you are looking at. It is very confusing to follow along the paths. Be prepared for very hot and humid environment.

Very nice for a relaxing departure day or transit. Also a good place to go if you are staying in Victoria. Entry fee is 250 which is alright. Be careful to stay on the paths as you can easily walk into construction or sewage canals if you go past some trees. Make sure to check out the Wildflower café.

The garden was nice, but smaller than we expected. It was 250 Rs for an adult and children over 12. Giant turtles were the main highlight of the visit. You can feed and interact with them. Kids (and adults:) absolutely loved it. Cafe was closed (4-20 August 23), which was a shame as we hoped to stop there. Parking was free and payment by card only.

I thought it was over priced to get in - but the ability to actually feed and hang out with the tortoises was absolutely worth it. I enjoyed the winding paths and the cannonball trees. The tortoises carry the price of admission though

The Copolia Trail is a rigorous hiking trail that meanders through dense jungle to a summit offering a 360-degree view of the surrounding area. The hike can be challenging, especially on sunny days when hikers might sweat profusely. However, the stunning panoramas at the top are well worth the effort. The trail is also home to carnivorous pitcher plants which add an element of intrigue and wonder to the journey.
if you have time for just one hike, this is the one. the walk was gorgeous through a tropical paradise, and the views from the top are stunning. not too difficult or strenuous. there is a small fee so make sure to bring cash. no restrooms so prepare accordingly.

Great trail, really enjoyed it and views at the top were amazing. There are a few parking spaces off the road right next to the start. 100 rupees before 4pm. We went at 4:30pm but needed to watch the light as was getting dark by the time we finished. We were up in 35 minutes and down in 25. It is tough and steep in places so not for beginners. Trail or hiking boots essential. Plenty of water needed as well. It was a lovely dry day. If raining would have made it very slippy. Highly recommend.

Beautiful trail, well maintained, the view from the top is incredible!! I definitely questioned my abilities on this one, but I was wearing Crocs, so that probably didn't help. This a trail where you will want to have free hands, so bring lots of water and a backpack. A lot of the trail is big steps made of tree roots and granite rocks, and it can be quite slippery if it has rained. There is also a ladder to climb at the very last section. The view of the East coast of Mahe and of the inner islands was fantastic!
Allison Stone — Google review
Really nice hike throughout the jungle. It was cloudy at the top so we didn’t see any views but it was still worth going. We saw a snake on the way up. You pay entry 100 rupees per person, there is a toilet at the beginning of the trail. It is possible to park a car just few meters from where the trail begins.

Prepare for a Short and intense hike, that deserves all the effort and the sweat 😅😅 it is a very beautiful view from above, and also a special hike along the way, thanks to the nature. Take good hiking shoes and a lot of water. We made it in aprox. 40 minutes, with little breaks along the way. 10/10🇸🇨❤️❤️

Pretty simple hike, average hiker should be able to complete it in less than an hour. The special treat is to see the flesh eating plant which are the top most segment of the hike. Its easy to be missed out as the signs dont point at it but if you just look around on top you would be able to spot it. The view is nice but I prefer the morne view better. Overall was a fun trip. It get humid alot because of the rain forest so expect to sweat alot and carry enough fluids as there is no shop nearby.

A moderate hike that is well worth the views at the end. It's actully nice a cool once you reach the top but as others have said it's a hot and sweaty walk even in overcast conditions. Lots of water and a towel if you sweat alot. Some big steps and some tricky parts but overall doable for most people. 250rupees entry unless you are a resident then it's free. Took us 50 mins total return trip at a leisurely pace not including time spent admiring the scenery.
A must for the photos 📸

Short easy trail. Can be a bit steep at times but good even for kids/family. Interesting endemic species to seychelles. The peacher plants are beautiful. Very varied and enjoyable trail. It starts off easy but gets tricky in the middle and towards the end. Most of the trail is in dense jungle, then you arrive at the top for some stunning views of the bay, islands, and mountains around. We went early to beat the heat, which I would recommend doing. Note there is a cost of SCR 100 per person. You can pay the office at the start of the trail, but better to buy online if coming early (as the office may not be open yet). Allow at least 2 hours to climb and descend.

Ile Moyenne is a charming and compact island that boasts of pristine white sandy beaches, a nature preserve, and an eatery. The island also serves as a sanctuary for giant tortoises, making it an ideal location for tortoise conservation. Moyenne Island is a small island (9.9 ha or 24 acres) in the Saint Anne Marine National Park. This is the world's smallest national park, a haven for free-roaming giant tortoises 🐢since this is uninhabited by humans.
This island a testament to the incredible work of Brendon Grimshaw, who transformed this once neglected island into a thriving wildlife park. A visit here is not just a journey to an island, but a step into a dream crafted with care and love for our natural world. ✨

When I came to Seychelles my biggest dream was to see and touch turtles 🐢 we reached this island by sea. It's beautiful place to stay and make pictures of best memories. National Park costs 250 rupees to enter. It's a round walk trip. Turtles live there and freely travel around) any of it you can touch, feed and photo with.. It's amazing 👏 😍 I was happy like kid🙏 it's also turtle museum and turtle nursery there. Many ways to go down to beach directly. Beautiful views. Lovely experience. I highly recommend to visit 👍 on our back way we were snorkeling, swimming, feeding fish, had lunch with plenty of local delicious food 😋

This is a small island, which you cover as a part of the Reef Safari excursion. We had to go on a guided hike for most part of the island. The guide from Mason's travel was friendly and informative. You will find lots of different Seychelles native trees. Also the beaches at different corners of the island are nice. You find giant tortoises on the way, which are left to roam about freely, as they rightly should be.

This island was fairly small, but it was great. We arrived by a Catamaran boat and got taken through the trail on the island where we were greeted by giant tortoises which was a dream. You get to pet them, take pictures with them and even feed them. The trail had a pathway to some beautiful, scenic beaches and had great spots to take pictures. There’s a lot of history and culture to take in on this island and is definitely worth the visit.

Moyenne island is characterized by white sand and granite boulders, and its lush green cover is beautiful. One needs to pay entry fees for a tour of the island, and there is a decent restaurant (Jolly Roger). It houses quite a few giant tortoises. Considered to be the smallest national park in Seychelles, there is a well-marked trail that takes roughly an hour to complete, circling the island. While buying the entry ticket, one gets a pamphlet about the trail and various popular spots to cover. At the last leg of the trail, on a climb are naturally designed granite stones that one can climb for a larger view of the island surroundings.

Cute small island with a relatively chill trail around.
The best part of the island in my opinion (outside the nature of course) is the collection of giant tortoises. They’re so cute, and just roam around. You’re able to feed them the local fauna and pet them.

The Sir Selwyn Selwyn-Clarke Market is a colorful and bustling marketplace that offers a variety of fresh local produce, spices, handicrafts, and souvenirs. It's a small market by African standards but is still worth visiting as the fishmongers display an astonishing variety of seafood early in the morning.
This is one of those old style markets so typical to sea nations and so unusual to standard inland european. For me, first time seeing such live and of course it cannot be compared to any documentary movie. Fish, herbs, spices, fruit, vegetables, essential oils and all kind of local products in one place. So colorful to the eye, so rich to the smell :) Did not have chance to visit early in the morning, yet it was very nice experience. Small market but definitelly has the spirit.

Mainly fish and vegetable market. Some vendors selling spices, chutneys and chili sauce.
Fish is fresh. For 50 - 75 SER it got gutted and cleaned, ask for it. Vendors selling packs of 5 fishes for 200 SER.. Usually two fine and three so so fishes. A 2.5kg Red Snapper is around 300 SER and absolutely delicious.
No choice of seafood aside plenty of selection of fishes. For vegetables checks the stalls outside of the market hall. Seemed to me that quality is slightly better.
Inside the market hall ignore the chutneys and chili sauce, they have a blunt taste, super salty and over priced.
Sum up: good buying fish and vegetable anything else not really interesting.

It's a mission to find parking to get to this place. There's a small lot near Boba Republic but its got more taxi spots. We used a parkade located a few blocks away. The times on Google do not correspond, we got there 1.5 hours before closing & most stalls were packed up. The stench is expected as there is a fish market side. With what we could see, some lovely fresh produce & souvenirs like spices, tea, honey & vanilla. Worth the cultural experience if you're into that kind of immersion when traveling. The area around the market is busy due to shops & traffic can be quite intense. Little regard for pedestrians.

Mission Lodge, also known as Venn's Town, is a popular tourist destination located in Seychelles. This attraction features a forested mountaintop that offers stunning views of the coastline and includes remains of an 1800s missionary school. For those interested in history and architecture, Mission Lodge provides an insightful experience. Additionally, there is a viewpoint which was specially built for Queen Elizabeth's visit to Seychelles that offers an excellent sunset view from its observation deck.
Mission Lodge or Venn's Town is one of the

I've read about Venn's Town but came across it by coincidence on our travels. Stunning lookout points & l appreciated the peacefulness. I liked that the trees were labeled so you could learn in the process. We were in flip-flops & managed fine to do the walkabout which isn't too long. However we did not go to the cemetery part, we walked for a bit but the terrain is a little different & good shoes are needed. It would be great to have an indication of the distance on this areas so you know if it's something you want to do, we eventually turned back. I would also suggest a clean up on the walk way to the cemetery, broken glass is a hazard & the car parts is just eerie.

Anse Royale Beach is a popular spot known for its white sand, palm trees, and snorkeling opportunities. The water is calm and clear with a greenish hue. Although there are nearby restaurants and cafes, the beach is located close to the road resulting in abundant car noise. Despite this drawback, the beach boasts boulders at one end while being protected by a reef making it an excellent spot for swimming. It is not heavily crowded and offers some shade as well.
Beautiful beach but do note it’s located right on the road so car noise is abundant. The island is fun to swim to and snorkel around despite the strong currents that push you away from it. We got take away lunch from the near by Le Relax.

A calm beach on the east coast road, with a parking space as a pull over on the road, near to the entry. Good lineup of palm trees and shades, blue water, standing rocks, makes it a good place for photoshoot

Great beach with boulders at the farther end. Clean and the water is nice with a very nice greenish color. Water is calm enough to be able to swim. Food and restaurants close by. Among one of the best beaches in Seychelles. See pictures.

The CAT COCOS BERTH is a ferry service that operates in various locations. This transportation service primarily caters to passengers and vehicles, facilitating travel and transport within the islands. It offers convenient schedules for its customers, allowing them to plan their journeys ahead of time. The ferries are equipped with amenities such as air conditioning, comfortable seating, and entertainment systems to enhance the passengers' experience. Moreover, the company places a significant emphasis on safety measures to ensure its customers' security during transit.
Our boat transfer with CatCocos was fine. We got lucky with weather, no mass vomitarium was happening. Keep in mind it is the sea which rules, the boat always moves in various directions even if it is nice, sunny and not windy, so weak stomach of inland tourist can get tested anytime. Fresh air on upper deck may create some difference, especially if the boat is full of sweaty people. One thing worth improvement would be luggage off loading. People are like herd of cattle and everyone wants his luggage quickly. This leads to people who spot their lovely baggage first to push through the others still waiting in the lines. Perhaps a bit larger drop off area would be nice, but it is understandable the crew does not want to haul tons of bags all over the molo.

Good, timely and prompt service. We heard some negative reviews and were skeptical before but our experience was quite good with them. No hassle, they were very professional and made our journey as good as it was possible from their end even when the ocean was extremely rough.
Anirban Bhakta — Google review
The staff inside the catamaran are really rude and very young to hold this responsibility! We had a really bad experience with these kids, they have an issue with communication with the customers. It is not right to say bad stuff for clients on board after the departure of the boat! If I knew they are rude kids, I would have booked a private fast boat instead of staying more than one hour on a boat with very unreliable staff. I am sorry to say that, but this will be my last time on board with this company!

If you will stay in Mahe and Praslin
I recommend taking ferry one way and flight the other way
Nice to take the ferry
Amazing to see the views from the flight
Philip Salloum — Google review
Punctual and professional. But hands down the worst ferry trip of my entire life and I have been on terrible trips. If you’re prone to sea sickness and panic attacks I recommend you choose a flight. For 1.5 hours straight, the boat felt like it was about to tip over at any moment. Again, if you can’t handle this then I would not go.

I had trouble bringing a cake to Praslin and I was traveling with them. asked for them to put in the chiller, went back and forth and they made a big issue just so my cake can be transported safely. Customer service was very poor, the guy in the sales office was extremely rude, it’s as if he’s paying for my ticket. Some of them just really don’t know how to talk to customers or how to make decisions I am very unsatisfied with their service, hope cat coco could do better in the future with their lovely customers.

You need to drop the big suitcases at the office next to the jetty.Taxi from the airport costs about 40€ or 600SCR.Make sure you'll get some motion sickness tablets before the trip!!!

Picturesque little harbour with nice little park and views to mountains and the sea. However, if you end up having to wait for a long period to check in bags (yes you have to check them in), there is little to do. The ships are nice, but beware of the sea. We were pretty sick on transit to Praslin.
Andreas Ludwig — Google review
Fast and efficient service between Victoria Praslin an La Digue. Waves were a bit choppy but overall the trip out was good. Coming back in the evening wasn't so great as there were several passengers who were sea sick. I would recommend sitting facing forward near the front. Praslin terminal is very picturesque. Beautiful harbour.
Graham Hutchinson — Google review
Very punctual and professional staff. Today the ocean was quite rough with the 3-4m big waves. After the first 15 mins the first passengers started feeling seasick and puking. At around the middle of the journey it became the worst, more and more passengers started puking and the staff was running to pick up full bags and hand in new ones. On the front side of the boat around 70% of people puked at least once.
My personal tips for making it through without the need for seasickness bags 😊: eat little and light things for breakfast and eat well in advance, the best seats are in the middle, and the best advice - take good earphones, you will need it once people start VERY loudly puking.
All in all I didn't find it that scary as I expected based on hearing experiences from other people.
Tamara Milovanović — Google review
The only transport between the islands that I’m aware of. Pricy, but it has an air conditioned “business class” you can book. The website has been updated and you can buy tickets for the same day - however it does warn you that you have to buy it 48 hour in advance. You can also by pass that by buying the ticket at the dock assuming they have the space. My advice book in advance - they fill up fast.
The Jardin Du Roi Spice Garden is a botanical garden that features a variety of spices and uncommon plants.
Very nice place to visit. The garden is huge and full of different plants for food or medicine. Everything is well marked and you can definitely see a lot of different flowers and fruits. Must see for everyone.
I can also highly recommend the restaurant. The meal are delicious and the spicy tea is made with many different spices. It’s definitely something special.
The owner is also verz friendly and welcoming.
You can walk for about 1 to 2 h. If you are interested in botanic - bring more time.

A place that deserves the visit! I was not expecting much but was overwhelming. Such a lovely place, with so much variety of plants and so well organized. We have a list with all species numbered to help identify them during the visit. To finish…the restaurant, where we end up to lunch a very Kreolle lunch. The food made with the ingredients of the garden, the spices like the cinnamon, the vanilla and others. The ice cream hand made with local flavors has lemongrass. The owners are lovely! I love it

Nice views from the top. Many tropical plants, good informational guide. Everething is clean.
Restaurant is too expensive, better to bring the food with you. But special cocktail from the garden fruits is fantastic

Nice tropical garden. We went through the spice garden loop. We could see many exotic trees/flowers. It was absolutely worth going there. Bit expensive entrance fee and ice cream. But it's very tasty! The road is very steep and tricky. Just drive the road to the end. There you can park the car. Nice view against Anse Royale. It is also worth seeing their exposition with interesting artefacts such as the skeleton of the turtle.
We took this trip during our visit to the southern part of Mahe together with takamaka rum distillery and craft Village (production of parfum).
Take enough water with you and of course!!! Repelent!

Plenty of different plants, fruits, trees…, including tortoise. Amazing view of the bay. A directions to the place might be more clearly marked, because the garden is placed on the top of a very steep curvy hill. Our suggestion would be to include more spices/fruits/sth in the shop since the offer is pretty much limited.

This is a must visit if in the Seychelles. We stumbled across it looking for somewhere to have lunch. What a great surprise when came to this amazing garden with round a 100 different plants. You get given a map and guide to the plants as you walk round. It was fascinating to see all the different fruits and spices. They also have Coco de mer palms and giant tortoise.
It is a long way up in the hills, so make sure you drive / get a lift

One of the experiences that you should not miss when in Mahé. Reaching here by car is possible but it’s a steep climb. Definitely can be done by car. Not expensive. The manager and owner are super sweet people. You’ll get to see spices and fruits naturally growing on trees that you have been eating.

Surprisingly, the minimum net salary in the Seychelles is around 600 Euros NET...so, the people here are doing quite well, even sensationally well compared to the rest of the African countries.
As a result, the houses specific to the island look really cool 🙄
Here you have the chance to see such kind of traditional house.
Also, in the photo, Coco de Mer, the unique palm tree that grows naturally only in the Seychelles, which has the largest seed in the world up to 30 centimeters long and 18 kilograms - worth noting, of course, and the very interesting shape 😅

There was one big reason we came back to the Seychelles: the banana crepes at the Jardin du Roi restaurant. They are exquisite. Never has a crepe been made to such perfection, with a sauce that delicious. It’s a secret recipe from the owner of the restaurant, and one that no one could replicate. Outside of the restaurant, the Jardin du Roi has always been our favourite place in Seychelles; far outweighing even the beaches and the sea. It’s a magical garden of herbs and spices; flowers and fauna; trees, old and young, majestic and magnificent; a garden of secrets and pleasures. An old garden, with trees that tell stories of their seasons. Some ripe with fruits of every island variety; others with age-old roots intertwined like the fingers of old lovers.
The Jardin Du Roi is the kind of garden we carry with us, long after we leave the Seychelles. Not unlike the mouthwatering banana crepes of Madame Georges. A gift to come back for.
To add: despite the restaurant being closed for the National Day holiday, Madame Georges , upon hearing that the reason we were in the Seychelles, was my son’s birthday request for her banana crepe, managed to whip up two of her magical crepes for my kids. On the house. This is a lady who continues to imbibe the magical soul of her Jardin du Roi; it’s secrets and gifts flowing to all who seek its stories and pleasures.

The location is very nice and is situated uphill. Approach road is steep. So it’s better to drive you car up to the front entrance ) but the place has a few car park slots. It also has a restaurant. While the place is good, the entrance ticket of SCR 175 per adult is very high

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit here with
so many interesting and beautiful trees and
plants to see. The trek round was through
jungle areas so decent footwear is advised
Plants and trees are numbered and you are
given a sheet which tells you what they are.
There are also several information boards.
There are a couple of enclosures with the
giant tortoises in and a cage with cute
bunnies and guinea pigs in which I was told
was for children to pet!
We were given a very friendly greeting and
welcome when we arrived and chatted to the current owner.
Our visit here was most enjoyable and great
value for money.
Beau Vallon Beach is a well-known and beloved seaside destination on the island of Mahe, offering a variety of water activities such as swimming, surfing, snorkeling, windsurfing, scuba diving, fishing and jet skiing. The beach boasts a picturesque semi-circle of sand framed by palm trees and takamaka trees that provide shade from the tropical sun. Although the swimming is excellent at Beau Vallon Beach throughout most of the year, strong waves can occur during June to November.
Beautiful sandy beach. Super nice if you want to spend a day by the sea. Some cute stray dogs are also in the area and very friendly

The last beach we visited on the island and glad we went for just 2h. It is quite overrated. I am sure once it was amazing, but now is too commercialized and populated. When we were there there was lots of seaweed and water was not clear. If I were you, I would either miss it entirely, or visit just for a walk around sunset, which was truly amazing.

This is the most energetic and beautiful beach of Seychelles, the paradise on earth. It is possible to see people of all nationalities. We came from Turkey and we liked it very much. The beach is very clean, I recommend watching the sunset. It is possible to catch fish early in the morning, but beware of people swimming. If you want to escape the sun and relax a little at noon, you can visit the place called "boat house". I adore the people of this country and their respect for nature. Greetings from Turkey 🇹🇷🇸🇨

Pay Attention to Scammers.
There are less waves than many beaches on the island. It is one of the most crowded beaches of the island. There is a very important issue you should pay attention here. There are thieves travelling on the beach and selling coconuts etc. They take your money and cheat you.

Need to be careful on October when enter the water, sometimes there are stingrays near the shore (1-2 photo).

I was keen to visit this temple and managed to go as part of a tour. Unfortunately, our tour guide seemed a bit clueless and was rushing us and didn’t give us much time to stop and take pictures. I managed to get a couple of pictures walking past and it seemed beautiful from the outside, we also got told that every year they add a layer on top of the temple. We didn’t manage to go inside the temple, but maybe in the future we will be able to.

Takamaka Rum Distillery is a must-see attraction on Mahe island. The free tour, which starts at 11 am, is entertaining and informative, providing insights into the distillery's history. Additionally, visitors can spot large turtles on-site.
Some of the best island rum available. Unfortunately, they don't ship to foreign markets (that I've seen in/around the US) or households, so those tourists will have to buy and carry. Beautiful old distillery grounds will an informative tasting tour.

Nice place with distillery history. Nice to see couples of big turtles living there as attraction (whatever is sounds like) - me preferably would like to see them free on the beach, nevertheless it is a super experience. Nice bar in the garden but expensive. Bottle of rum costs twice much than on Europe. Shop in Germany sells for 13€ per 0.7l - here almost 23€… in the place that they are producing it !!! This is why you have 4/5 stars

The place is nice, we tried the rum yesterday and we liked it so we went to the distillery today to know more!
The tour self guided is nice but they offer free guided tours as well, the crowd was big and nobody wore a mask so we did not join!
There is an option to try all the premium rums, very nice variety but the guy explaining it was visibly bored about my questions.
They have a nice shop on premises too, I just wish they had smaller bottles too as option or tasting panel boxes, that would be more travel friendly! Nevertheless we bought a quite a few bottles😉 great experience of history

The staff was very friendly and attentive. We had a super view of the bay from our room. The room was very spacious, bright and clean. The hotel offers very good breakfast with fresh fruit, cake, eggs, samosas, pancakes, etc.. The beach in front of the hotel, called Anse Gaulette, was a bit disappointing, there were strong currents, stingrays and sharp coral/stones in the water. But nearby there are other beautiful beaches that you can easily reach by bus. There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel and busses go every roughly every 30 minutes. The village of Baie Lazare is quiet and the landscape and scenery are absolutely beautiful. There are nice art galleries well worth a visit. I recommend Lazare Picault Hotel, if you like peace, quiet, nature and walking. If you want more touristy infrastructure and more people you might want to choose other places in Mahé. It's a family owned hotel where everyone is willing to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Also the restaurant la Gaulette offers great food and definitiv worth the money. We would go back there in a second.

Nice hotel on a hill with individual bungalows and a nice view of the beach. Staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast eggs on request, fruit plate and more .. The hotel is good for exploring the western part of the island. I recommend for accommodation on the island of Mahe

What a great stay! - (12 nights, 2 adults, 1 child)
1st, the view. Every “room“ is an own solid house, each one with a breathtaking view over Baie Lazare.
2nd, the breakfast. Almost every day the owners offer a lovely selection of self baked cakes, pancakes, etc. and a personally prepared selection of fruits out of their own garden. - having breakfast while watching eagle rays play in the bay... priceless.
3rd hospitality
The hotel was built by its lovable owners themselves and is under constant improvement. (Without disturbing their guests even the tiniest bit, while doing so!) - every member of the owner family and the stuff was always friendly and helpful in a relaxed and charming way. Charles, one of the 2 junior owners, for example, offers practical advice, help and has a lot of “to dos“ to recommend. Politely fluently speaking English, french, German and Creole.
Everyone has a very natural and lovable way with children and families feel very welcome. Our 9 yo daughter felt very much “at home“
Prices at the hotel bar were surprisingly fair. (The bar automatically opens as soon one likes to have a drink 😉)
4th hygiene and sustainability
The entire property has already seen a few years, but is perfectly maintained and sparkling clean to the last corner.
COVID precautions are taken very serious by the entire staff.
The owners have a very ecological approach on how to lead their business and put a lot of effort into self sustainability. A big part of the used electricity is already self produced with sustainable solar energy. We liked that a lot.
___________
For nature and animal lovers: fruit bats circle around the area in the evenings, so do several birds... The bay is swarming with friendly fish ... and the cute hotel own cats will surely pay you a visit on your balcony. Perfect!
Definitely not the last stay in the Lazare Picault!
Sunset Beach is a secluded and idyllic coastal retreat with crystal clear waters that are perfect for swimmers and snorkelers. The beach's location is slightly hidden, but it's definitely worth discovering. Visitors can park their cars along the road next to the Sunset Beach hotel where they'll find a small stretch of sand flanked by palm trees and rocks. There's also a bar/restaurant on the left-hand side of the hotel.
A paradise in the Indian Ocean, extremely beautiful beaches and 26 degrees water, the inhabitants are extremely friendly, for us it was super

Lovely and calm beach. Sunsets live up to the name.
It’s always very active, so do expect some noise. Not a secluded beach in that regard.
Parking by the road can be sparse but should be available most of the time.

Well worth a visit lovely beach where you can get jnto the water without any fuss. You have this mainly to yourself not rammed at all. The nearest shop is 10mins walk away and it's a good easy 30min walk from beau vallon.

Excelent beach. A bit hidden, worth to find it! You can park your car along the road next to Sunset Beach hotel. Small beach under palms with white sand and some rocks. Hotel with a bar/restaurant on the left. Just a few people. Nice snorkling.

Nice calm beach, lot of shadows to hide from sunshine. However no facilities.

Small and comfy beach. Some abandoned building spoil the view. No place to park the car though. Frankly, sunset on Beau Vallon is nicer.
If you have time - visit this beach, otherwise - there are plenty of other to see.

There is no beach. It's a small Rocky space which gets covered with water. Probably folks who went and found a beach went during low tide. We could not even find a proper path to walk to the beach but could see from the road above. Also no place for parking.

Another nice beach on Mahe. No sunset when we visited, bad timing:)

Great for snorkeling and good shade in the mornings.

Great, small and peaceful beach we have returned to time and time again. Generally good snorkeling to the right of the bay if there is no coral bleaching.

We had our post- wedding photoshoot here and it was the best spot.
The beach so cozy and waves are so nice.. there are stones on 1 end and palm trees on the other end..
Parking is a bit tricky but a beautiful place to go to

Beautiful and small beach with not so many people on. Big waves 🌊. Spent all day there until sunset.
No restaurants or shops nearby, so bring food or walk 10pm so closest market.

Loved the beach but there's no parking and you'd have to park on the side of the road

Lovely small hidden away gem of the North part of Mahe. Brilliant for snorkeling, and some relaxing time. Plenty of shade.
Seyferry offers convenient online booking and sends a confirmation email immediately, followed by the tickets with scan codes 2-3 days prior to departure. The mobile device can be used to show the tickets, eliminating the need for printing. Temperature checks are conducted before boarding while baggage is checked in at the office instead of being carried to the catamaran. The boats feature comfortable seating arrangements with most tourists preferring the upper deck (at an additional cost).
Great customer experience, Good organisation. Everything on schedule. Be sure to arrive early enough. An hour helps to avoid the late crowds and make your checkin experience flawless. We liked it.

This is the port in Victoria from where the ferries to Praslin/ La Digue operate. Waiting area is spacious which also has a restaurant (coffee was very good). Wash room in the wait area is clean (Gents). Check in luggage to be handed over in the ferry office atleast 30 min before boarding. Generally the meet& greet by the representatives of the rental car agencies happen here with prior appointment. Overall experience was good.

We left our hotel at 6:30 am to get to the 8 am ferry, got into terrible traffic on the way. Emailed two address that we won't make it on time, called 3 emergency numbers in each we got to the answering machine.
Got to the port, expected to get a later ferry or a refund, but guess what?
Not in this company! No refund and no rebooking!
Worst customer service ever!
In addition we found out that booking directly through Creole company, the price is cheaper!
Do yourself a favour and avoid this company.

Great customer service by Seyferry (we had to change our booking due to a flight change), all was done in a very friendly and professional way.
The ferry itself was leaving on time and spotlessly clean.
Try to book the upper deck, the views are great and you're out in the fresh air!

I booked a CatCocos ferry with them on 24 November for 2 January and was told 3 weeks later that CatCocos are unable to confirm my business class confirmation and I am being knocked down to a lower class.
Their email did not offer any compensation for the mishap but treated it like business as usual. SeyFerry did not change its stance in subsequent emails.
I have no idea why it took 3 weeks to get the confirmation and why sell tickets that are in fact unavailable.
This is just bad customer service. SeyFerry know customers don't really have a choice so seem happy to deliver such awful experiences.

Went two times with the ferry from mahe to praslin and back and from mahe to la digue and back (not always, but in our case was a change of ferry in praslin -it was very quick). The experience overall was very pleasant. Of course, it depends on the weather, in 1st and 4th of December the sea was calm. We caught rain but since it was not windy, the trip was very enjoyable. Even at economy class you have big windows. It depends on the catamaran type, one has outside benches even at economy. I preferred inside at aircon not in the wind on the deck (which is normal, the boat is going with speed). Avoid though staying just under the air vent, it can be too cold. Personnel very nice, they even waited for me 3 minutes as I was late, at the request of my husband. Thank you and hope to see you son!

Easy online booking. First you receive a confirmation of your booking via email (immediately), the tickets with the scan code are sent 2-3 days prior to your departure. You don’t have to print the tickets, although the email says so, just show them on your mobile device.
The temperature is checked on boarding. The baggage is checked in at the office, you don’t have to carry it to the catamaran yourself.
The boats are very comfortable. Most tourists prefer sitting on the upper deck ( it costs about 5€ more), but the lower deck is fine too.
And there you have cartoons playing on screens for the kids..

Reliable and safe port to La Digue and Praslin. Lots of waiting area around it. There is a bar-restaurant and a take away place near by. Also money exchange place. Waiting line is long, but staff is organised and polite.

Very nice trips with the ferry. Boarding and luggage check in easy and organised. Staff were very attentive to the people during the trips.
Katerina Cholakova — Google review
The ferry is clean and the staff does a good job.
However only use on very good weather because on our way to Praslin from Mahe 80% of the people were vomiting.
I am not sea sick but I struggled very hard to not vomit because the ferry moves so much.
Traveled around the world and used many ships, boats ans ferries but this one certainly was on another level of moving.
I assume it is because they speed up a lot which makes crossing the sea a nightmare on bad weather.
Better take the plane.

Quick transport, easy to navigate between tasks to do before boarding. In case of rainy or windy weather prepare to be seasick.
