Pereybere Public Beach is a lively beach situated in Grand Baie, Mauritius. It is surrounded by shady trees and offers activities such as swimming, sunbathing, kayaking and picnicking. Pereybere beach has become renowned for its affordable hotels and resorts lining the area around it with clear water, fine white sand that doesn't have any waves or rocks. The temperature of the water is very warm and has good entry points into it.
Nice public beach with some shade from the palm trees. Turquoise water and seem to be quite popular for french people. Completely safe to leave your bag and towel and go for a swim.

Very nice beach with a good vibe. Seems to be one of the cleanest in terms of the sand. Slightly small but it seems ideal for families with kids and the bay makes the water more calm and is quite shallow

My kid loved this beach the most in Mauritius. It was like love at first sight. Amazing clear water and very fine white sand, no waves, no rocks or plants in the water, very warm and with good entry. There are palm trees to stay under their shadow. There are several restaurants close by and street food trucks. You can buy fresh fruits as well.

Nice small sandy beach with very nice blue colors when is sunny. The beach is crowded specially at the national holidays or at the weekend. The sand is very hard. There are families with tends, tables and chairs … Behind the beach in the forrest are some portable restaurants spreading the smell of fright meat, chips, onion… The color of the sea water is spectacular… but no place on the beach. Around the beach are mainly apartment houses and many retired French people. The evenings are very dark, few lights on the street, some low level restaurants, but big and good supermarket. There is a public bus to Grand Baie, but the traffic jam is common, because everybody rent a car, but there is no infrastructure for do many cars. The weather is very humid and hot. There is no night life.

Pereybere public beach is smong the best beaches to swim in Mauritius. Just avoid crowded peak times such as weekend afternoons. And there's yummy ice cream available to enjoy 🏖🏊🍦🍨💙

Lovely small little beach. Great to get into the water and for swimming too. The water on Mauritius can be very flat and at perybere it’s is a bit deeper so great for some swimming

It's OK not that bad. It's too small for me. Even for regular days people are squizzing to get their spot. The water is superb.

Lovely public beach, anyone visiting should try the samoosas and other delights from the lady in the blue stall near the bus stop, freshly made and delicious...then enjoy the beautiful sandy beach and dreamy sunsets

Arguably one of the best beaches in Mauritius 🇲🇺 The water Color and surroundings are just stunning 🤩 On weekends, it is packed with locals so it’s best to visit earlier in the morning or on weekdays. Lots of swimming space and time just flies enjoying this beautiful beach. A definite must see when around Pereybere ⭐️ A winner’s supermarket is nearby for you to stock up on any food and drink you may need to relax at the beach 🏖️
La Cuvette, also known as Royal Palm Beach or Le Mauricia Beach, is a beautiful family-friendly beach located in the northwest of Mauritius near Grand Baie. It boasts some of the best resorts and villas for a comfortable stay. Despite being an offbeat destination, La Cuvette offers endless activities and adventures to make your day fun-filled. This secluded beach is a great option for getting away from it all and enjoying some peace and tranquility.
Amazing! Beautiful spot and very calm. The water is lukewarm and clean. Specially if you walk a bit to the left, it’s not really exploited. We loved it.

Beautiful, small beach. Probably the best one in Grand Baie. Right next to the beach there are public rest rooms (like on most public beaches on Mauritius) but also changing rooms and few snack bars. It's lovely but it might get crowded easily during the weekend or in high season.

Very nice beach, with soft white sand and turquoise water.
Went there during the week and it was not very crowded.
There are also some shops there from where you can buy coconut, fruits, drinks, noodles..

Nice little beach where I often walk to from grand baie. There are some snacks and good outlets, public toilets and showers. Lots of rocks and there are trees for shade. Benches to sit also. N’joy restaurant/bar is also there and open most days for lunch.

Lovely little beach, which is good for swimming too. The views of the waters and mountains in the distance are great too.
There is a paved area to sit down and relax as well as some merchants selling a few things including food. There are some lights for anyone around in the evening.

Beautiful, small and well maintained beach found in the north. I love the spot in front of the beach, the sea surrounded by trees and rocks. Easily located from Google maps and accessible to public.
There is snack shops all around and even pickles and fruit salads. The beach is equipped with bench, dustbins and parking slots.
The place is clean and please make use of the bin so that our future generations can enjoy the same view.

Good place with an amazing turquoise water.
I recommend it as it has some local stret food places like Camile and the experience was great. The beach has plenty of trees 🌲🌳🌴 and you can cover yourself easily.

It's the best beach for bathing for sure. Clean with plenty of activities in the area. Water is clean without any sea weed or corals floating on the edges. There is a fresh water fountain to bath later as well. Great place in all of Mauritius.

It’s a wonderful little beach especially early in the morning on a weekday, when there’s barely anyone. Be aware of some dogs and maybe a man trying to sell activities for tourists (usually sellers understand from the first no that we don’t need anything but this bighead even started to insult us and didn’t leave us alone until I raised my voice).

Stunning little beach. Got to watch an incredible sunset. The food trucks were also really good.

One of the best beaches on the northwest coast 😍 Small, but clear water, soft sand, and clean. Not many people ( only at weekends, like everywhere). From Monday to Friday, you can rent sunbeds and umbrellas 👍🏾
?????? ???????? — Google review
This a a great beach to visit, it’s closed off to through traffic, so it’s quiet and rustig, (relaxed in Afrikaans).
A perfect place to picnic, or you can get food and drinks from the vendors there. There is some parking available, about 30 to 40 spaces. But over the weekend, especially on Sunday it can fill up very quickly.
If you are staying in Grand Bay, rather take a walk. There are enough pavements (sidewalks) to get you there.
The toilets are clean, and there are a few options if you are in a hurry 😏
Warwick (The Saucy Mare) — Google review
Like a private beach, but it is open for the public. A bit of a walk from the main road coming in past the casino. We took the bus from Grand Baie. The most beautiful, clean, clear, calm sea water. Food being sold at these food stands. Nice clean public toilets. However, the changing rooms across the market area were not nice at all.

La Croisette is a vast shopping center with a luxurious atmosphere that boasts an abundance of stores for an enjoyable shopping experience. The mall features modern architecture and abundant natural light. It is spacious and inviting, making it ideal for relaxation and socializing. Children will appreciate the dedicated play areas provided within the mall, while two supermarkets - one of which is Intermart, the largest - ensure convenience when grocery shopping.
Our No.1 shopping spot to go to during our stay! Nice atmosphere, a cinema, cool shops, great restaurants and also a huge supermarket. Everything you need you will find here. And even underground parking is available :)

Has a very open feel to it and a lovely vibe. Also has a selection of stores as well as a well sized food court (majority of eateries are halal 😄)! Also has a cinema and plenty of parking. The Intermart is worthwhile shopping at if you are on holiday to get all your drinks and snacks at a very decent price.

One of my fav shopping malls on the island. However, the Center Management should try to organise more regular events and animations so as to keep this mall more lively. Personally i prefered the esplanade when it had more open spaces and didnt had all those floor paintings and other craps, which certainly doesn't add any charm to the Mall!

It's a really big mall with a lot of shops. It is capable of giving a good shopping experience.
The architecture of the mall is nice and cool. It has a modern touch.
The mall is very spacious so it's a good place to hangout and relax.
There is a wide area for kids to play so they are going to love this place.
There are two supermarkets in the mall in which Intermart is the biggest i think.
There are some restaurants and a food court which cook different varieties of foods of different countries!
There is a theatre also in the mall.
Parking is available.

One of the few places in Mauritius with modern architecture with large buildings and many shops, where you can buy and eat or simple sit and watch movies or just walk underground. Everything is good with La Croisette except the Adopt shop located there! Been there today. The employee lacks courtesy and manners. She is very rude and doesn't have respect for customers. (Translated by Google) This is a Hindu temple. There are deities Ganesh, Kali, Shiva Lingam and others. Some websites write that this is a Buddhist temple - this is a mistake. They also write that this is an exceptionally beautiful temple, this is also not true, there are many such temples in Mauritius, in almost every village. The exterior colors have already faded and the overall appearance is somewhat shabby; inside the temple the colors are bright. Many figurines depicting various Hindu deities decorate the roof and walls of the temple; it is unusual and interesting to stand and look at.
When we arrived at the temple, the temple servant showed us the deities, led us to each one and told us their names, although the names were written above each deity. And he asked for 100 rupees. I wanted to get away from him as quickly as possible. We wanted to leave and not give the money, but then he persistently reminded us. It was unpleasant.
We specifically went to this temple expecting to see something interesting here. But the expectations were not met.
I don't recommend this place. You can safely go to any similar temple in Mauritius in a less touristy city and spend more time there, contemplating the beauty of the gods and the brightness of the colors.

Grand Baie Bazar is a market in Mauritius that offers various goods at affordable prices, making it a better option than overpriced street vendors and hawkers. The market has stalls selling trainers, sunglasses, jewellery, bags and other souvenirs that can serve as gifts. Visitors can find the best stall just before the main entrance on the right side run by a helpful and patient lady called Anoushka. The market also offers clothes and limited parking spaces.

Well, what can I say, lots of copy-paste small shops. Worth visiting if you are looking for cheap clothes, bags etc.
Jokke S — Google review
Even though you could find the odd bargain, it's pretty much a tourist trap and very overpriced!
Some stall owners are friendly, but some are pushy and try to charge you triple the price if not more!
Some of the little shops in the street leading up to here are much better.
Wouldn't return here.
Much prefer going to a local market.

This place has many shops particularly focused on fashion products. You can find many first copy clothes of reputed brands. Shirts, shorts, shoes, caps, souvenirs etc. You can bargain with them to secure the best deal for yourself.

Its ok. It seems the prices here are expensive. You can buy cheaper ones at the stores right outside the grand bazaar or the small stores that are on the way to here

As someone who has visited Mauritius many times , its better to support the Bazar than overpriced Street guys and hawkers .
Its not an air conditioned mall its a market and goods are fine as gifts .etc
Best stall for Trainers ,sun glasses, jewellery, bags is just before the main entrance and the Buddha on the right side .
Run by Anoushka so helpful and patient, we tried on several trainers etc and then bought quite a few bits .
She is a kind natured lady not like some of the stall holders .
Do support if you don't want to pay the ridiculous hotel gift shop price for the same goods .
Thanks Anoushka all the best.

Typical street market with some tented/indoor vendors and fully indoor stores. Most vendors are pushy and do not let you browse without shoving stuff in your face trying to get you to buy things you don’t want. Lots of poorly made imported counterfeit items and harassing sellers. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here however there are some stores that had authentic Mauritius spices and locally made products with vendors who were very polite, friendly and helpful without being too pushy. There is one beautiful boutique though called Blanc De Toi that has nice stuff , everything is white which I thought was really cool. It’s not in the market but a standalone store before turning the corner. The sales associates are normal and don’t try to sell you anything. I would recommend checking this place out.

Perfect place for souvenirs - don't miss it! 300m from the main road, the bazaar is in a large courtyard. You can find plenty of nice and region-specific clothing, and of course loads of souvenirs. All prices are negotiable so you should never pay the first price given. All merchandise is twice as cheap as on the high street. It has narrow corridors and is hot inside but it's worth it!
The interior architecture of Masjid Ronaq-Ul-Islam Sunnee is impressive, offering ample space. However, it tends to get crowded during Jumm'ah prayers as both residents and those working in the area attend. The mosque is well-maintained by the masjid society, although improvements are needed for the women's section. Thobes are provided for those who require them during prayer. Overall, it is a peaceful place with excellent parking facilities.
The Imaam, Moulana Muazim, has introduced some English in the Bayaan (sermon) to address the international ummah in attendance. ❤️
Also, extra / excess parking, especially for Jumaah Salaah, had been arranged at the Church across the road, from the Masjid.

Nice. Unfortunately, there is no speaker on female side, and we cannot hear anything from the prayer.

Sunset Boulevard in Grand Baie offers a vibrant nightlife with its array of restaurants, bars, and nightclubs. It's a popular spot for live music and entertainment. The coastal road leading to Grand Baie village features Sauterelle at Sunset Boulevard and Le Poivrier, highly recommended for their food and service. Visitors can check their Facebook pages for updated opening times and featured menu items like Australian beef or the catch of the day.

A wonderful, but short walk along the seas. It starts at Grand Bay main beach and end at the little side beach down the road. Better than walking on the pavement (sidewalk).
There and many shops you can visit, as well as a few restaurants and bars. It’s great to walk during the day, as well as at night. It’s safe enough to do so.
There is free parking at the beach, or you can use the shopping centres parking across the road, but you must be a customer.

Moet vroeger goed geweest zijn maar is nu voorbijgestreefd en staat in de schaduw van het shoppingcenter er vlakbij/naast “La Croisette”. Bijgevolg leegstand en minder goed onderhouden. Must have been good in the past, but is now outdated and stands in the shadow of the shopping center near/next to “La Croisette”. Consequently, it is vacant and less well maintained. It seems appropriate to me that they think about it and turn it into a meeting center or office space because there is plenty of parking.
