Simply stunning views, award-winning wines and a creative food and wine experience await visitors to Nederburg Wines. Offering cellar tours and tastings of its vintages, the winery also has a bistro with a patio that offers delicious dishes matched with its award-winning wines. Opened September 2020, The Manor is the perfect place to relax and enjoy some of Paarl's most beautiful scenery.
We really enjoyed the wine tasting experience. The food was nice, the wine was better and the waiter, Reagan, was the best! He ensured we weren't bored, although the music in the tastin room was trying to put us to sleep. The Ingenuity wine is really the best, so we had to buy a few. We would have loved to sit outside, as its really beautiful but it was just a bit too hot so we needed the air conditioning in the wine tasting room 🤭 Will definitely be going back!

Nederburg was AMAZING! Words cannot explain our experience. We are South Africans and we never had a experience like this ever before. Who knew you can pair Coffee, Wine and food together! THANK YOU it was absolutely worth it! Get yourself some wine coolers and fill them up with their incredible wines!

Nederburg now has a kids party venue! Nicely kitted out with kids seating area and a separate seating area for the adults. The venue can also accommodate a jumping castle. Kids can look forward to popcorn and candy floss machines operated by the staff as well as cupcake decorating on request. There’s also plenty things to keep the kids busy with - books, games, play dough and more! If they STILL manage to get bored the kids can head over to the outdoor play area at the Manor Restaurant which has Jenga, a range of lawn games, jungle gyms, a zip-line, tree house and swings!

Nerderburg Manor House is a place to be with awesome array of wine options to taste.
The taste and rich history speaks for the brand. Thanks to the BrandCrafters and the team behind this famous brand.
The restaurant got nice and well prepared meals and hospitality here is second to none. The product knowledge of the team will leave you amazed and there is a story with every product on offer.
My favourite is the "Noble Late Harvest" red or white. The taste is kind blowing and you will thank me later.

Nederburg was five-star today! We had the warmest reception from Carmen and Mundo served us so well. Murdo was attentive to our needs and even had time for our very busy boy, taking him around to see the kitchen. We haven't had such a wonderful, relaxing afternoon in a very long time. Thank you to the chef as well for the food from heaven. One of my best meals ever! The beautiful farm, views in every direction, the great lawn and the fantastic, huge play area for the kids, just added to this great experience.

I spent a memorable afternoon with my best friend at Nederberg. We sat next to the fire and got taken care of the whole afternoon. Murdo treated us like royalty. The Ravioli was truly memorable, as for the port wine and Amarula cheese cake(that was heavenly.. what an experience! Thank you Nederberg, my friend and I had an unforgettable experience. I can't thank you enough..

Nederburg is our favourite wine farm by far.
We have had birthday parties here, both for kids and adults, breakfasts, lunches and quick coffee stops, and the level of service we received is second to none.
The food is superb, the coffee excellent and there is lots of space for kids to play, as well as a fantastic play area.

We have visited many a wine farms here in the Cape, but this has been by far the best wine farm we have been too. The atmosphere is fantastic and it's kids friendly, they have an awesome play area for the kids that left the adults to enjoy a lovely afternoon.

What a charming place to spend the afternoon. Upon arrival, the staff was welcoming and friendly. Our server was well-trained, and she freely shared tales and her knowledge of our wine selection.
The cheese platter was delicious, and so were our mains. This was indeed an afternoon well-spent, and we certainly recommend a visit.

What a pleasant visit we had at Nederburg Wines. It was a cold and rainy day, but we were welcomed by warm smiles. To our surprise, without any prior booking, we were lead to a seat right in front of a fireplace. We enjoyed a complimentary glass of bubbles while we waited for the rest of our guests to arrive.
For the wine tasting I had mostly red wines and a dessert wine. There were two wines that REALLY stood out for me: the Brew Master from the Heritage Heros range, and the Nobel Late Harvest. I just had to get myself a bottle of each!
Bringing our visit to an end, each of us had a slice of carrot cake (and another glass of the Nobel Late Harvest...)
This was certainly and outing to remember. Thank you Nederburg, I will be seeing you again very soon!
Paarl Rock is a massive piece of granite with a polished exterior that attracts hikers seeking panoramic vistas. This tourist destination offers stunning views and is popular among outdoor enthusiasts. The smooth surface of the outcrop is its most notable feature, drawing visitors to explore and take in the breathtaking scenery. The attraction provides an opportunity for nature lovers to engage in physical activity while admiring the beauty of their surroundings.
It is fairly straightforward for anyone moderately fit with gorgeous views. For those not inclined to a walk, there are great braai spots and a public botanical garden which is worth a little explore. There are also a bunch of other routes on the backside of the mountain - longer but not particularly challenging. A gorgeous place for a shortish dawn or sunset hike!

I grew up in Paarl and my family has been working the land in this region for many generations. I absolutely adore this part of the world. It is a magical place! Free adventure for all who dare the assent/decent.

We got lost for a while until we met some very friendly runners and they assisted with clear directions.
Don't go very early especially if you are a group or just pair of girls only...there are ppl or homeless like ppl who camp in the woods, especially underneath Gordon's rock. I'd suggest you leave most valuables locked in the car.
Overall experience - the hiking trail was very peaceful and relaxing.
Bring enough water if you plan on doing both Paarl rock n Britagne rock, otherwise the views on top r mind blowing.
🚻 Restroom are available even though I didn't use thm, im not sure abt their condition but the structures outside looked good.
Prepare a 32 rand fee for Sanparks boom gate if you want to drive up, optional. N parking 🅿 available before the entrance should you wish to hike or run up

Absolutely loved this hike. We started at a gate on the way up to the Krismisbos Picnic Spot, sorry not sure which one. The views are incredible and loved the rocky and green terrain 💚 we joined our families at the top picnic spot.

Lovely stop-over on a countryside drive. Lovely views of the surrounding valleys from the big rocks which in itself is a natural wonder to see, be careful it can also kill you. A few jeep tracks add some added adventure for mountain biking or motorcycling. Enough to see and do for those who find the picnic area wanting.

Best views in the area from the Drakenstein mountains to Table Mountain. Bring a jacket for the wind on top of the rock even though there seems to be no wind. Stunning nature and well maintained footpaths.
Anker Gouws — Google review
When you get to the top of Paarl Rock, you are treated to one of the best views over Paarl. It’s a sight to behold.
There’s not much place to park, but most people walk up anyway. And that’s a good thing because you pay R32 per car and per passenger to enter the area.
Rifaad though is the fun guy at the gate and loves to help tourists find their way to either the rocks, the dams or the picnic areas. Big ups to him for all the help and patience.
The rock is stable but also very steep in certain sections so good shoes are recommended and I wouldn’t go up there in wet weather.
There’s not much in support for wheelchair users, so it’s best that they have assistance in this area.
As a bonus, there’s a VOC signal gun from the 1700s on top of the rock.

Paarl Rock was a very interesting outing. We went on a quiet day and did only once saw other hikers. We think the closest ablution facilities must be at the Taal Monument so keep that in mind when you go. We only went up halfway but thoroughly enjoyed the walk around the mountain. We started at the Taal Monument. Take with everything you will need, water, toilet paper, snacks, first aid kit and let people know when you go up and your expected time of return.

The Afrikaans Language Monument is a significant historical landmark with obelisks situated on a hill that commemorates the official recognition of Afrikaans as a language. The monument boasts stunning views and features an excellent restaurant that serves delicious food, although currently does not offer alcoholic beverages. It stands as a testament to the achievements and infrastructure built by Afrikaners over the years, which continue to be utilized today.
We decided to have a late lunch at the restaurant at the Monument. The service was good and the food was excellent. I had the chicken pie which turned out to be quite a portion and my wife had the Chicken Schnitzel which she enjoyed and could not finish.
They do not serve any alcohol at present but you are welcome to bring your own with no corkage fee charged.
Really nice place and the view is amazing.

I was impressed with the history and the sheer brilliance of the architecture. The grounds are very well maintained. There are these lovely spots to have a picnic and enjoy the spectacular views. Do not forget to go inside the moment during midday to see the sun shining down directly onto the well. A must see/visit.

Monumental experience is the only way to describe such a beautiful landmark. Afrikaners can be proud of all their achievements and infrastructure that they built through the years that we are still using and abusing. Lovely experience would definitely highly recommend this place to anyone.

I love visiting every now and then. With R40 entrance it is more than worth it. There are lots of shaded benches, some with tables, perfect for picnics or just a relaxed gathering with friends or family. There is a lovely restaurant for light meals. And clean bathrooms. Definitely a place to visit.

The monument is totally unique. There is tons of education about it and it's right at the top of a hill so the views are unmatched, bringing a whole new appreciation for our country. I'd recommend visiting the coffee shop when there and trying out their wonderful breakfast! The staff assist in English, too (if you're not an Afrikaans speaker like me) When the weather is better, I'll most certainly be back for a picnic.

Made a quick stop before visiting Paarl Mountain.
R40 entrance. There a a small restaurant on the premises.
The concrete monument boasts very interesting architecture and represents history of a language that evolved from Dutch. Lots of picnic spots and a mini hiking trails. They also have a brief wheelchair hiking trail. As I was leaving I saw a tour bus come in, so place can probably get busy depending on when you go.
Different play areas for children.

It is a nice place for those that enjoy a little history and want to learn more about the Afrikaans language and the monument that has been constructed to commemorate the recognition of Afrikaans language. Place is well maintained and it has a nice open picnic spot and restaurant.
Reinhard Labuschagne — Google review
It's rare to go to a monument that's dedicated to a language. The Afrikaans Language Monument was erected to highlight the pride of a nation that has created a means for its diverse population to communicate in an idiom which is entirely their own. Set on a hill overlooking a majestic valley, with views that extend for miles around, the various shapes of the concrete monument have significance that is best explained by signs, guides and guidebooks.

Go and learn more about how Afrikaans became the best language in the world although it isn't spoken by the most people in the world. Interesting monument with interesting features symbolizing the different parts of the worlds that helped to create our wonderful language. Goog coffee and pizzas available at the restaurant. Come and relax with the many stargazing picnics. Beautiful views of the surrounding farmland. Play area for the kids next to restaurant and huge grass areas next to the monument itself where they can roll down for hours.

An absolutely spectacular and edifying experience. The afrikaans language is unique and newish and this monument taught me much about its origin and rich history.
The monument itself is mesmerizing and set against the most beautiful backdrop of grape farms and wineries of the Paarl region.
In addition, the flora surrounding the monument is a wonder unto itself, its a gorgeous garden where one can sit and enjoy a quiet lovely moment. The people who work here are so nice and hospitable. A lot of love, care and pride lives here- an amazing experience!

A beautiful view & rich history.
There are some really interesting facts about the Afrikaans language & how it formed.
The garden has good diversity & you can really learn a lot about the unique Cape biodiversity.
You can find a restaurant, playgrounds, outdoor chess, benches, proteas, toilets, a visitor's center with a small model & keepsakes.
There is an entry fee, but it is minimal.

What an amazing experience. We were treated to something that guests don’t get to experience and we will cherish the memories for a life time. You can see that the people who work here actually care about the animals. The farm itself is pristine with no expenses spared. The enclosures are big and well maintained. The staff were friendly and very knowledgeable.
We stayed over night in the caracal suite which was 5 star. High quality finishes, appliances and furniture with not a bring out of place. We will be back for sure. Our only hope is we get to experience what we experienced again. We miss Xena and Abby.

Good work being done here. The passion and love for these big cats show in the knowledge and daily activities shared by our guide. We did the basic tour but got a lot out of it. Great sanctuary for those who unfortunately cannot be released and for those who can and ARE!

Cool place with cheetah’s and leopards. We went for the cheetahrun but it was to windy. Instead we got to help with feeding the cheetahs, very cool experience. The guide tells a lot and took her time to answer all our questions.
Tom Vanbremen — Google review
We had a great experience at Ashia. We especially chose it because they really do serve a purpose, it was great to get educated about the cheetahs, and also it's not one of those places where the cats are drugged and misused just for tourists. We booked the "Meet a Cheetah" tour and were taken on a tour through the premises by one of their staff members, Dane. It was just the two of us, not a big group, which was actually perfect. We had a really interesting time with Dane, he explained and told us a lot about their project and the cheetahs in their care and could answer all of our questions. Unfortunately, the Cheetah we were supposed to meet was not too interested in us as we were there just around feeding time and naturally his food was more interesting than us. But still, it was great to be able to go into his enclosure and see him without a fence inbetween. I would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in learning more about the project and those exciting animals!
Kevin Käfer — Google review
I obviously appreciate the work they do, however it was not clear to me that you won't see a single live Cheetah unless you go on a paid tour which is 60-90 minutes. Also no under 18's are allowed. ie. No children, which is very unusual. I've only ever visited places like this to show my children! Just glad I found out before I turned up with a toddler, as there is no sign saying this until you get to the front door.
Check out the fun things to do on the website first & remember to book!

Stunning views. Gorgeous animals. The staff and owners are very friendly and so passionate about the animals. You can tell they really love them and care very well for them. They are trying to release cheetahs back into the protected wild where possible. As there are less than 7000 cheetahs left world wide, they could really use your support. Great experience!

The restaurant is consistently great and for the quality offered, is in my opinion great value.
Beautiful setting, great wine, great food in an un pretentious environment with friendly service highly recommended.

We went to Avondale charity event for the open garden day. We took the tractor ride - such fun and then walked around the beautiful private gardens. Stunning views of Paarl Rock and the surrounding Franschoek mountain ranges.
Happy hours spent on farm with superb wine tasting and special lunch prepared for group. Full marks to the team who all assisted. Compliments to this very special family winery!

Bought a Hyperli voucher to experience this vineyard. The wine tasting consisted of 5 wines and were good, especially the white pino. The gourmet platter was good but didn’t fully match the description provided on the voucher. We also weren’t offered our glass of wine as on the voucher. Glassware was abit old/dirty, couldn’t tell. Very peaceful place and a good host.

A hidden gem. Had a wine tasting and platter on Saturday with my husband, and we were served by a gentleman named Bradley. He was attentive and very well informed. The white pinotage is a must try, and the other wine was delicious as well, and so was the cheese platter. It's worth the trip out to Paarl

......our first encounter with this establishment was already a foretaste of good things to expect! At the end of September we had emailed them to book our reservation with the intention of visiting on the 15th Oct. 2017 we were blown away that the very same afternoon we had a reply from Tessa confirming our reservation! Wow! Very impressive! As the time came nearer we discovered that we had a more important engagement on the 15th Oct. so we phoned to ask if we can alter our reservation to a week before again we had the opportunity to speak to Tessa who was most obliging to make our visit possible for Lunch time on the 8th Oct. and guess what? Tessa happened to be our host so we met her in person which turned out to be absolute-lii magnificent as Tessa turned out to be an outstanding host, very knowledgeable with every detail of every wine she poured us to taste! We had come to experience a Sunday Lunch with a difference, Wine tasting 3 white's Seraphic, White Pinotage, Chardonnay & 3 red's Rose', Shiraz, Revelation plus a Platter with cured meats, cheeses, olives & breads and oh yes Chocolate brownies! It was delightful-ii delicious and very filling! The only let down was that there coffee machine was out of order as we real-lii needed to have an espresso after all the wines but that wasn't to serious we knew that the Wine-lands Engen was on the way back to Cape Town were we could and did stop to have that coffee! This venue is set in a Picturesque wine yard with beautiful gardens filled with large oak trees and lots of green grass! The reception area is very well decorated in a real winery way, although the tasting room is rather small but very cos-ii with a pleasant fire-place and seen that it was a bit chillii today they had a log-fire going filling the room with a very romantic ambiance! This place comes very high-lii recommended by us and it's worth a visit some or other time from all wine lovers!................its our opinion that this venue will do well if they have a full on restaurant as you are unable to order a more solid meal but we are told that they are working towards this for the future!............Clap! Clap! Clap!....Feb. 2020...And we are back again this time to redeem our WiKi-Deal Voucher for the Vintner's Platter, a glass of wine and an Exquisite Wine Tasting Experience. With the time-slot that we choose we had the whole tasting room to ourselves and that included having and enjoying the full attention of Elzaan and Gaymari who where absolute-lii on point in every way. Very knowledgeable about every wine that they served us. We even had the thrilling experience of visiting "The Cemetery Of Forgotten Wines" which occupies the entire basement under the tasting-room, an amazing encounter. We discovered once again that despite the fact that they don't have a dedicated and full-on restaurant they have week-lii & month-lii events that offers "food & wine pairing", in winter they have a month long "soup & wine pairing", they have a Spanish-Day where everything centers around real Spanish traditions. They even have a Spanish red wine in the Mellasat Range "Tempranillo, a true-lii well flavoured taste-ii wine. We all fell in love with it. On the 7th March 2020 they have "Run The Vine & Tread The Grapes" and on the 21st & 22nd March they have the "Gourmet Burger & Wine Week-End". We believe "The Picnic Days" are incredibly awesome which we will definite-lii attend when next it takes place...The Landscapes around the whole estate are picturesque and beautiful....everything about this Boutique Wine Estate and venue rocks!.....

Stunning mountain and Vineyards views. Great wines and home to the White Pinotage! Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. It was a sweltering hot day but sitting under a big old oak, sipping wine and eating a beautiful cheese board was the ultimate way to cool down.

We tasted five delicious wines. There is an unusual white Pinotage which paired well with the cheese platter, as did the Rose. Our kind host was knowledgeable about all the wines, and patiently answered all our questions. We sat outside enjoying the lovely view 💕

Great place to take out-of-towners! Everything you need to showcase our beautiful city in one place - wine tasting, chocolate tasting, beer tasting, and mouth-watering pizza 🍕
Oh, and the beautiful views of the mountains and the vineyards. Absolutely stunning 😍

There is a lot to do here from wine 🍷 tasting, beer 🍺 tasting to Gin 🍻 tasting to chocolate 🍫 tasting and more !
You need time for this place and a taxi ride home 🏡 unfortunately we didn't try the beer or gin tasting but next time we shall.
A few good looking restaurants from Sushi 🍣 to wood 🔥 oven pizza 🍕 again we unfortunately didn't have time for them.
It's on a hillside but you can see so far and it has absolutely stunning scenery.
You need to make time for this place but it's well worth the time.

A lovely place to visit, very quiet and out of the way. There are a few options available for food, and drinks.
Parking is a bit tight, so if you can get there on a bus or many people in one car.
It gets very busy over the weekends especially around lunch time.

This was an absolutely wonderful experience. We tried everything from the wine tasting to the chocolate tasting, pasta and teas.
We went on a Saturday, so it was fairly busy. However, the location is laid out so well that it does not feel overcrowded.
A definite must visit, we will absolutely be returning!

Quite a fun family outing. Enjoyed the many different things to do there. Settled on having a Gin tasting at Wilderers and then some pizza after. The gluten free pizza was excellent and a pleasant surprise. The staff were quite friendly and helpful, with good service to match. Will most definitely recommend this place as a fun outing. Only criticism is the play park and some of the facilities that are a bit broken and in need of repair / upgrade.

A beautiful complex (estate?) with a beautiful view. The complex holds a few different buildings catered for different tastings. For me the biggest anticipated tasting event was the CBC tasting, but I was quite pleased with the gin tasting. There is also a bistro for when you get hungry.

Stunning scenic views of the Paarl valley and the Simonsberg mountain range. The estate is also home to various restaurants and shops, making it a great place for a culinary and cultural journey. It's a recommended destination for those looking to explore the flavors and culture of the Cape Winelands region. A must visit! You’ll spend a good few hours relaxing and loving every second of it.

Numerous tasting options, including tea, wine, charcuterie, chocolate, gin and beer. One can easily spend a full day there (as opposed to Fairview down the road, which is better for an hour or two). There are a few restaurants (some of which are closed Monday to Wednesday).

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit here. There's much to see and do.
Moigoeters craft shop is lovely. The assistant was friendly & welcoming.
The lady at Brenda's shop is equally friendly & attentive and there's an amazing variety of spices, jams, teas and other goods that's very appealing & hard to overlook.
We had lunch at La Grapperia Pizza & Bistro. The Ham & Pineapple pizza was delicious but sadly we cannot say the same about the Pork loin chops which was hard, dry and bland.
The barman at the Distillery is very friendly and welcoming.
Overall, a day well-spent. I recommend a visit.

Went out for a birthday celebration and took family from Ireland here for the 1st time. Did chocolate tasting then on to the ice creams then some wine tasting
Also visited the brewery but never did the beer tasting, also gave gin tasting a skip. Unfortunately there is no more glass blowing and shop only open Fri-Sun
Ended up having lunch at the bistro and pizzeria . Tried a few of the German dishes and they were very nice.
The scenery and setting is amazing , my 4th visit and I'll be back

It was okay, I mean, the place is beautiful. The food at the one restaurant was not the best, nor the wine. The pottery painting was also nice, but they had little equipment. I asked for a thin paint brush and they didn't have at all so I couldn't do the design I wanted. I expected a lot more from the experience as a whole. It's also difficult to navigate your way around the place, there are a lot of dead ends.
The views are beautiful though. But I wouldn't go again, personal opinion🤷♀️.

A visit to Spice Route is an enchanting experience, offering an array of delightful tastings that promise an exceptional day out. As a passionate enthusiast of beer tastings, I found the brewery's offerings to be a veritable paradise for my taste buds. The diverse range of brews, each with its unique character and notes, provided a captivating exploration of the craft.
Conversely, my wife found her joy in the elegant world of spirits and chocolate tastings. The combination of fine spirits and decadent chocolates made for an exquisite pairing that left her in awe of the intricate flavors and textures.
However, Spice Route isn't merely a haven for tasting adventures; it's also home to La Grapperia Pizza & Bistro, an establishment where dining becomes an art. My personal favorite, the Eisbein, is an epitome of culinary excellence. Its succulent, tender meat with crispy, flavorful skin is unparalleled, making it a true standout. I wholeheartedly assert that no other place can rival its exquisite taste.
Spice Route, beyond its culinary and libation offerings, is an idyllic setting for a day out, whether with your loved ones or friends. The picturesque surroundings and the warm, welcoming ambiance create a perfect backdrop for memorable moments. The rolling vineyards and panoramic views only enhance the overall experience, making it a destination to savor and cherish.
In summation, a visit to Spice Route is a multi-faceted delight for those seeking a day of exploration and indulgence. From beer and spirits tastings to extraordinary dining experiences, it's a place where the senses are enraptured, and where you can escape the everyday, be it with loved ones or friends.

My first visit was brief, but a great experience - was there for our company lunch, in December 2023. Decided to take my family there in March 2024. It was an amazing experience and a pleasure to support the local businesses there and interact with the friendly staff. It's a relaxing environment with picturesque scenery. Many things to do. Recreational facilities for kids too. One visit is not enough to enjoy everything they have to offer. I'll be back. - Bradley Lewis

Stunning and peaceful to browse the little shops nestled between giant, centuries old, English Oak trees. Had lunch at Jewell's; food was good, but the apple pie was served cold and with only a spoon, making it difficult to slice.
Service was friendly and fast.

There’s so much to do for the entire family, and you can spend the entire day trying to partake in all they have to offer. My favorite was the chocolate store, I found so many of my favorite chocolate to take with me. We all enjoyed the wine tasting, and pairings, but didn’t have time to partake in art painting activities, and enough time to sit down for a late lunch and enjoyed the charcuterie boards, breads, and excellent lunch menu, the steak was slightly overcooked but enjoyed the salmon, duck and chicken.

Decided to celebrate my mother in law’s birthday here on the first Sunday of October with live entertainment. Enjoyed the Jazz band .. they were truly great. Service was quick, food came out fast. Slow on the drinks orders but they were busy.
Enjoyed the Wilderer Gin tasting .. excellent gin and other interesting treats such as Apple Pie Moonshine … gin reasonable prices and some branded memorabilia to purchase if interested.
Lovely set up and garden area. We felt a distinct German presence with the food… enjoyed the eisbein. Overall a great experience. Mother in law loved her outing too ..
Just a pity the music was so loud we could not talk at all. But then it was the entertainment so perhaps go for the music .. not the conversation … very good though.

It has been a while since I last visited the brewery and I was very impressed to see how they have grown. The tasting room has expanded to now include more seating inside as well as a small garden area, so a nice option to visit during summer or winter. The brewery now has a food truck and a big screen where they show certain sporting events. The garden outside has lawns where the kids can play safely and within view of the main seating area which means parents can also comfortably enjoy everything the Berg River Brewery has to offer. The entire group decided to do the full tasting which consisted of a Lager, Blonde Ale, Kristal Weiss, Pale Ale, Saison and Heller Bok. I really enjoyed the Saison and Pale Ale and ended up buying some Pale Ale to take home. While I was waiting for my friends to arrive I had a chat with one of the staff members. He was really passionate about the brewery and gave me a lot of background which I think makes you appreciate the beers even more. I am definitely making a plan to visit them in the summer again and maybe grab something to eat while enjoying their tasty beers.

Bergrivier brewery is a lovely place to go when it is very hot because they have misters up outside and ice cold beer. Limietberg Nature Reserve is by far the best Nature Reserve I have been too thus far, there is only camping as an option of accommodation, there is a day visitors sectors which has braai facilities and ablution areas, there is also a natural pool in the day visitors section.
On the camping side of the reserve, there is a hiking path marked by yellow footprints which lead you to the two beautiful water falls were one can go for a refreshing dip in the crystal clear waters. The 1st water fall is indeed my favorite as it is small enough for a quick swim and very deep to enable you to dive in from a high elevation.
The second waterfall houses a much bigger pool and would require you to wear aqua shoes as the rocks are sharp and can easily hurt you.
I almost forgot mentioning the spectacular views of the Thomas Bains Mountain pass on your way to the reserve. This place will beg you to come visit again.

Stunning hike with 2 lovely waterfalls.
Hike in a large group when going here. There were some unsavory characters here when we went..
Also, make sure to have a permit.
They can be bought online, and they fall under cape nature.
Despite that we were asked for our permits by the cape nature staff they basically just clean the parking area.
Inside like 50M away, it was filthy like people just dumped their rubbish all over the floor, and it never gets picked up.

This was our very first family hike and it truly did not disappoint. The trail can be strenuous but the views along the way is absolutely beautiful. When we arrived at the first waterfall, my son immediately dipped in and enjoyed the water. Getting to the second waterfall was a bit scary as you have to pull yourself up using a chain. But it is totally worth making it all the way up!!!! Seeing a little bit of paradise was beyond words. I was quite emotional as last year at this time, I was learning to walk after spine surgery. The entire group swam in the mountain pool and the texture of the water was a soft feel on the skin. We had a good breaky and my kids jumped from a very high daunting cliff into the pool. We really didn't want to leave and just spent time looking at the waterfall. On our way back, there were moments of jumping into pools to cool off. Overall, this first hike was the benchmark for hikes to come. Next, we are off to Crystal Pools, can't wait!

Painted Wolf 🐺 Wines 🍷 took my breath away. I have seen a lot of stores, wine farms, and restaurants, but none as incredible as this.
The inside looks like it has been taken from a cave and chipped away the rock to make it feel rustic and like you are somewhere different than where you actually are. The owners and wine makers are involved in the Endangered Wildlife Trust, raised money and awareness as well. Wines are mainly exported but you can order locally. 😉
The staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and informative about the Wolf Wines 🍷 They made you feel very important. Delicious wine combined great with their cheeseboard for 2. It is a combo of camembert and boerenkaas topped with olives 🫒, melba toast, and strawberry 🍓jam. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

We went to the Cape Brewing Company (CBC) on the 30th of October 2021.
They offer you a choice a beer and cider tasting.
The staff is very informative and also followed the COVID-19 protocols.
You can also purchase glasses, 6 packs as well as CBC-branded clothing.
Sadly, you can no longer order a 250 ml to drink due to the restaurants who are selling the same CBC on tap. But it is understandable, and there is the option to buy the 6-packs as well.
Thank you CBC for a great experience. You will definitely see us again.

What a cool experience! The vibe at CBC was great with lots of guests. The tasters are very generous and come in a four, seven or nine package. They also sell a stash of merchandise including t-shirts, bottles openers, ice buckets and of course, beer! Highly recommended.

Probably the most consistently great quality Beer in the Winelands.
You can actually drink any of their brews no matter your pallet, but The west coast IPA is the best ( wink wink nudge nudge nudge Wolfgang) although the lagers are sort of good good too 🫳🏽
..." Just Stop tasting it like a tourist and start drinking it like a man " 😁🤣😁🤣

A fantastic beer tasting spot with some merchandise for sale too. The staff are fantastic, fun, and friendly making for a really good customer experience. There are a couple different tasting options One has a good view into the factory through glass windows which is really interesting to see if you enjoy understanding manufacturing processes, so it's worth popping in even if you don't drink beer. Unfortunately the factory only operates during the week. Highly recommend.

We went for the beer tasting yesterday.
Very pleasant.
Our host was well informed, explained in a clear voice all the details about each beer given to sample and answered any questions we posed.
They also sell beer and other items such as T shirts.
They were Covid compliant.
Worth a visit.

Although we experienced some unfriendly reception on arrival by someone who is simply rude when talking to customers, our visit was saved by the lady behind the till and by Reece. Reece was super excellent with his presentation. If you visit CBC, ask for Reece. Please remember, on arrival, wait at the till, even if you block the whole passage, or you will be chased away from wherever you are standing by this rude female worker who has no people skills. Thank you, Reece, and the manager lady behind the cash register. You saved the institution' reputation.

Nice outing in Paarl if you want to try something other than wine. Staff was knowledgeable but a bit pre occupied. Good quality craft beer. Located on a beautiful winery estate with awesome views down the valley.

I’m sorry to have to do this. You guys were the first commercial craft brewing company in Cape Town. But as of late your amber weiss has been really really bad.
Are you guys not doing quality control? New ownership?
*Update* 26 Jan. No response?
You guys should check your cold chain, with load shedding it’s hard, but make sure the resellers are not storing your beer out on the shelves. I was at a “pick n pay liquors “last week in Stellenbosch, and they had your beer out on the shelves during this heat wave with no aircon inside. The room was very warm.
To top it off, the SAB poison was in the fridge. It’s possible their trying to sabotage.

Lovely place to go experience the beer flavors of Cape Town. Beers are all different and are a reasonable price for a novelty beer tasting experience. You can buy their beer buy the case if you want.
