The Jardin de Balata is a botanical garden with exotic plants from around the world. It has a treetop walkway and mountain views, and is one of Martiniques best attractions.
What an amazing botanical garden. Even though it's not that big, the entire road towards it and after it feels like it's part of the same place. Lush vegetation, lots of flowers and the view at the end is breathtaking.

Gorgeous place to visit! We went with my boyfriend and we had a lovely time there. It felt like we needed more eyes to see everything. So many plants everywhere! The views were amazing.
There are some stairs, so some people might find it annoying, but there is a path specially made for people in wheelchairs or families with a baby stroller.
Super worth it!

Beautiful garden with an exciting suspension bridge. Very nicely laid out with lots of different flowers. From the cruise port the taxi costs about $40.
Hoschi Blume — Google review
The best activity on the island! Friendly staff, beautiful hanging bridge, the most amazing trees and flowers! Absolutely loved it. Come early so it’s less busy, less hot and you have parking space. Parking is free. Bring water and sunscreen.
Joyce Huys — Google review
DANGEROUS!! Do not use the “bridges” the ropes used are from 2009 and rotten by the years of sun and rain. The park manager ignores my warnings and states the safety is ok. Don’t get me wrong, the garden is beautiful and worth the visit. Safety should be priority number 1 !
Anton Smit — Google review
We had really great time! The entrance is 15€ and it's not time limited. The rope bridge is also included in the entrance fee and the view is amazing! We spent there 2,5 hours and I think it was quite enough. We came around 10am and had no problem to find parking lot.
Next to the gardens is delicious restaurant La luciole, we had menu (punch, starter, main dish and desert) for 25€. Recommended :)

Absolutely beautiful. Grounds are spectacular. THE botanical gardens in Martinique. Restaurant, gift shop and restrooms. Some handicap accessible routes. Otherwise very hilly. Also has a walking bridge up in the trees.
Stephen Hayes — Google review
For sure the most wonderful bothanical garden ever. The way is structured, the armonized plants, the suspended bridge and the pond, just makes it magnificent.
Lavinia Fernea — Google review
Ideal location if you want to cool down and view a rich local green landscape. There is a bridge that was closed upon our visit.
Make sure you buy some special fish food to feed the fish with your kids at the store located at the entrance (when you buy your tickets), that will save you a trip back just to do that during your visit. The kids enjoyed feeding the fish.
We personally found some of the paths a bit hazardous for younger kids but it was a memorable visit.
Also the only restaurant around closed early and only takes bookings/reservations so be well aware of that.

A popular tourist destination in Martinique, Jardin de Balata is a stunning tropical garden with alluring views everywhere you look. Located north of Fort De France, Balata gardens has countless of tropical plants and palm trees from around the world. You can spend hours visiting the manicured gardens, while taking in the local birds and animals within the lush scenery. A memorable visit and highly recommended!

Beautiful and definitely worth every penny!
We had a memorable experience waking around this magnificent botanical garden. It’s a must visit place if you are on Martinique!
You can see a variety of flora and the way it has been structured is great for visualization. We went just after the rain had stopped so colors were beyond vibrant! If you watch closely you can also see several lizards and Kolibris scurrying through the garden.
Be sure to check out the rope bridge to get another perspective.
We paid 16€ p.p. to enter. Parking space is limited so you may have to park on the side of the road. There’s two spots for this: just before reaching the garden and about 300m after passing the garden.
Kat Klein — Google review
Took the local bus here and we were absolutely blown away! Such good forest bathing. So serene. The lightning bug cafe next door is incredible too as is the little hike to get to a local waterfall nearby. The perfect day on a gorgeous island!

I greatly enjoyed my visit to the gardens today with my family. A wide variety of plants, flowers, and trees to see. Many variety have signs explaining what they are and where they're from. Though built on the side of a hill, the walk around the gardens is easy and doesn't require any special footwear, I did it in sandals. This is a great spot for photos!

Great spot to visit when on Martinique. Great views, clean and quiet gardens. They have some dining options which we didn’t try, but we did feed the fish which was only 0.5 euros and the kids loved it! Highly recommend when visiting this island.

extremely fun. took about 2 hours to get around it. it's pretty easy to get here from Fort-de-France, just use the 25 bus, though it might disappear from time to time.
the whole garden is beautiful and the most fun part are the rope ladders and bridges, you can see most of the part from up there. it's a lot of fun!

Place is amazing. So many different types of flowers, trees, plants ... that I never knew existed. The place even hase a little pond with golden fish. The garden is really big, and it's built like a path to that every time you turn your head, you see a new wonder. A lot of the plants are imported though, so not all of them are local. Also you can comfortably buy tickets there. Anyway, really recommend this place for nature lovers.
Mia Tsoneva — Google review
Beautiful outdoor garden. Tons of varieties of flowers and plants. Restrooms available for no cost. Gift shop available on site. Would definitely come again if I visit Martinique in the future!
Nick Cahow — Google review
Certainly worth a visit. It's not exactly a botanical garden more a tropical garden with beautiful trees and plants. I would say it's even better than a botanical garden because you're not bothered with all the Latin names of all that grows. There is a wonderful walkway through the treetops. There is a local bus that stops right in front of the entrance.
La Favorite Distillery is a white rum producer situated amidst a vast sugarcane plantation between Fort de France and Lamentin. The busiest season to witness the production process is from January to June, during which time the sugarcane is hand-harvested, crushed, fermented, and distilled in large copper stills. The rum is then aged for up to three decades in oak barrels.
What an experience. We were fortunate enough to arrive at the best time possible. First, you get to visit the distillery and do pretty much what you want on the grounds. The workers are there and you can talk to them and ask questions, amazing people. You get to see the whole process of making the rum. Now, about the best time. When we arrived, the fermentation was over and the distillation was on its way. That gives you a unique tasting experience, one very few get. Once you’re done with the tour, you can go in the shop and do more tastings. And that takes us to the second reason regarding the timing. On Apr 8th they launched the 2000 La Flibuste and we could taste that as well. The mansion next to the distillery is private property and can’t be visited. Why pay 15€ elsewhere when you can get the right experience for free?
Dan Stoicescu — Google review
Very old factory in poor condition. Practically no degustation on site. Poor selection of rum and high prices. Sometimes prices are even higher than in a supermarket in the city. Not recommended at all. The waist of time and money.
Pavel Kurzaev — Google review
There s nothing much to say that you must visit this family distillery.
Even better if you could visit it from january to june during the harvest time suggested by the AOC appelation.
Their products are unique and a good place for tasting new products, mostly white rums and a few ones aged in barrels.
Cheers!
Lee GUITTEAUD — Google review
Nice, upclose glance at their distillerie area. It was raw, rustic and amazing that you could actually see some of the workers in action, working with the machinery. Very old world and non processed. We didn’t tour the Maison but it seemed beautiful and well kept. Obviously, the rum tasting was superb. Wish they would have opened up even more of their products to taste.

The discovery of the artisanal and human-scale production tool is naturally made via a footbridge crossing the distillery. You can follow the journey of the canes (cut by hand!), from unloading from trailers to aging in barrels.
The tasting ended this visit in the best possible way, our contact took the time to explain to us the construction of the range and to have us taste all the products with technical explanations, adapted to all audiences, from novices to the most experienced. warned. Notre meilleure expérience de visite et dégustation dans une distillerie.

(Translated by Google) During my recent visit to the Regional Museum of History and Ethnography of Martinique, I was deeply impressed by the richness and depth of the information presented. This museum is a veritable gold mine of stories, anecdotes and eloquent testimonies that shed innovative light on the past, as well as on the culture and history of the islands and islets that form the Caribbean archipelago.
Perhaps one of the most striking features of the museum is the map of the islands displayed on the floor. Not only does it offer a unique geographic perspective on the region, but it is also designed interactively, allowing visitors to move around it and physically connect with each island. It’s an ingenious way of bringing visitors closer to Caribbean history and geography.
I highly recommend anyone interested in Caribbean history, culture and ethnography to take a trip to this museum. It was an enriching experience that left a lasting impression on me and made me want to know more about this fascinating region.

Located near the city center, the Parc Culturel Aimé Césaire is a historical site that was once an 17th and 18th-century hospital. It proudly showcases the city's military history, with visible traces of its past. Since 1973, the park has transformed into a cultural hub that pays homage to Aime Cesaire, who served as both a Deputy and Mayor from 1945 to 2001.

(Translated by Google) Good morning,
Thank you for your often original programming, but how uncomfortable are we sitting in your rooms!!!! I'm not tall but I leave with my knees damaged (seat too upright, no room for the legs)!!!.
It is time for the CTM to completely redo the performance hall and offer us a venue worthy of our times and our beautiful island.
We cannot put 978 places (Cesaire) and 276 (Fanon) in rooms which can only properly accommodate around 850 and 200 places respectively.
Furthermore, Martinique Jazz Festival ......jazz I didn't hear much apart from a cacophony of sound from certain artists, with bluefunk, funk I don't know what!!!! but nothing about jazz, but maybe I don't know anything about jazz (I'm willing to admit it)!!!
Damage !!!!
Very respectfully

Bonjour,
Dommage !!!!
Bien respectueusement
