The beach pavilion Puerto Vallarta Malecon is a popular tourist destination with its ocean views and sculptures. The promenade offers restaurants, bars, galleries and shops. The ancestral tradition of the dance extends by 4 men representing the cardinal points with a caporal flying overhead at sunset. Modernity meets tradition at the Boardwalk where art, entertainment and history meet. There are many different forms of artistic expression including sand sculptures, paintings and flyers shows in the shade of palm trees.
Beautiful view of the beach. Wide walkways. Farmer’s Market on Thursdays. Tons of foodies here that stretches for miles. Locals and expats are super friendly. They are willing to lend and give recommendations. Just ask. Lots of local vendors and friendly. Plenty of cafés too. There’s also a Lix Ice cream kiosk on the pier. I forgot the store name but they sell souvenirs and really good price, located towards The Center district.
Cheers!

This is a late report on my time staying at the secrets hotel..5 months to be precise. The memories are still fresh. Had a fantastic time there, both at the hotel and in PV. PV is such a fantastic place and still at the fore of my mind. I HAVE to go back. If I won the lottery. I'm moving there. The hotel is ideally placed between the marina and PV Town. You can walk to the Malecon in 20 mins and to the marina in 30. The rooms at Secrets are out of this world with great service. Only gripe is that the room smelt a bit musty... no ventilation. Sunsets sat by the lobby are chilling and absolutely beautiful. Staff are so hospitable and friendly. No pressure to tip but you will given the service. Smoking areas at the front of the hotel and near the pool. No smoking anywhere else! I smoke and did not find this a problem. Generally, no complaints with the hotel. Loved it. PV is such a magical place. Every street has something to offer from art, food, surprise and special, courteous people. Massive rainbow community ( forgotten the forever growing letters to LGBT etc) and great places to eat, drink and chill. I LOVE PV. Please don't go to Nuevo Vallarta. Why would you when PV is on your doorstep. Nuevo is a fair distance away and you will end up sitting on the beach or in your hotel. Stay at Secrets! It's worth it. I've been to Cancun and Playa del Carmen, both great places but PV... different place and experience altogether.

Beautiful pier with view of the ocean and beach. Great place for a sunset. The weather is nice everyone is chilling and the fun never stops. Lots of things to do and even at night there are things always going on in Puerto Vallarta

If your in Puerto Vallarta you definitely have to go Downtown to el Malecón. It's basically a long Boardwalk strip where they have bars, food, performers lots of little vendors with different souvenirs,
music playing, a lot of people walking around and taking pictures. It's pretty big clean and of course if you're a Tourist there's lots of things to see and do. If you want to PARTY this is exactly the place where you want to come and stay not only do they have bars tequila tasting apparently everyone sells drugs too out in the open. Other than that the ambience is really relaxing calm during the day and at night it gets a little more Wild.

Malecon means boardwalk. No boards but a very enjoyable place to take a walk on. Usually busier in the morning. It's cooler makes sense. Many shops and restaurants along the way. Many people selling their goods and products along the walk. Take your time. Be respectful to the sellers. There trying to take care of their family's.

The boulevard of Puerto Vallarta filled with beautiful art pieces, quaint shops and eateries. A great way to get your daily steps in and a fantastic way to spend part of your day. While strolling the Malecon don't miss out on the many shops a block or two off the beach.

A really live section of Puerto Vallarta. You can find anything here, from bats, restaurants, high end shops to souvenir shops. This boardwalk is a real vibe. We really enjoyed our time here, lots of fun. Make sure you have your negotiating skills ready. You can hale a better price in just about every shop. We loved our time there.

There is definitely a lot going on at this place, which is in the center of town. There are restaurants everywhere there is music, nightclubs,, ice cream, and something for everyone. There’s also a pirate ship that gets close to shore, and throws off fireworks every single night. That is a spectacle in and of its zone. It’s very lively. There is a lot of traffic, so I prefer to walk there, but you can definitely Uber there if you want

Always,a fun experience at The Malecon. Great people watching, entertainment and 2 Starbuck locations amongst many fine restaurants and bars
The Catholic Church's most iconic and recognizable structure is the Parroquia de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The church is crowned by a Renaissance-style tower, and hosts an annual festival with a colorful parade. The bells chiming before mass time are also distinctive.
The church is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2022. It offers daily services in Spanish that all are welcome to attend. We were impressed by the unique crown at the top of the tower. When you visit, also go to see the gazebo and courtyard nearby. It's a great spot to sit, relax and people watch.

I could see the Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe before walking up the hill. The church and the area are bustling. Many stores and street vendors sell gifts and souvenirs in the area. But the minute I walked into the church. It became solemn and tranquil. Everyone respected the church. The Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe is beautiful. I like the surrounding area as well.

Average looking church, inside and outside. If you were to put this church in Paris, Rome, Florence or Mexico City, you would walk right by it without noticing it. It is a working church so mass does take place, hence you should be respectful of the worshippers. Located in the central part of town, three blocks from the beach. There are some souvenir shops in front along with a few restaurants. This is a place you visit once, and not come back, despite it being a major landmark in Puerto Vallarta.
Robert Chomicz — Google review
While this is a tourist attraction, this is still an active cathedral for the locals to worship. I got a sense that the tourists, including myself, weren't conscientious of this. I felt a little disrespectful taking photos, but I did it as quietly and non intrusive as possible... 🙏

Beautiful church. We came here during the celebration of Guadalupe. We heard the bells at night all week and it was lovely. There’s a table outside where you can buy rosaries. So blessed to have had the opportunity to see this amazing church.

If your in Puerto Vallarta and you've never been to a Mexican church you definitely need to go check this place out. Mexico always has the best churches hands down. Just when you go make sure you take your hat off pay your respects and don't be ignorant. This is just not a place to go take pictures this is an actual Church so please be mindful.

I went here in 2024 for palm sunday mass as well as for easter sunday mass. This is a very average church with little to no unique architecture or design. I would not go out of my way to visit this church. Ok spot for quick drop by visit/prayers. Amen

Beautiful interior. Each station had a QR code that appears to allow you to read more. However, you are prompted to pay for an audio tour. Based on the size of the church, it may not be a long tour. The church has not been maintained. Sadly, another lovely Catholic Church that has not been maintained and the Catholic diocese / the Vatican provide little to not financial support to maintain their assets, which are worth millions worldwide.

We walked here from where the cruise docked. It was a very long walk but felt very safe.
The church is peaceful but the surrounding area is full of people and shopping opportunities.

Visited this beautiful historic cathedral in downtown PV. Mass was being celebrated so we did not spend too much time touring around. It is such an amazing church to visit. The building and the inside are amazing. I would highly recommend visiting this cathedral when you are in town. It is only 2 blocks off the Malecon.

A beautiful church with amazing bells. Located in El Centro this church is the center of the center. Walk by and hear the bells echo through the mountains. Take a tour or watch a wedding. El Campanario in a restaurant right across the street with amazing food for a great price. Stop in to have a bite as you take in views of the church. Enjoy!

Didn't expect to see the grand display after walking up the old cobble stone road and dilapidated steps. Just be wary of the electrical as I'm sure it is not up to code. Got that shot from the outside of the church...

The spiritual aspect of the Mass is always paramount. We did not particularly enjoy the priest who celebrated the Mass, as he was mostly putting on a show and seeking audience participation as if it were a liberal political campaign stop.
The pier known as Muelle de Playa Los Muertos, in Playa del Carmen, offers tourists a sleek contemporary design with picturesque coastline views. It is accessed by water taxis which will take visitors to nearby beaches such as Yelapa, Quimixto, or Mismaloya.
This is a hub for Water Taxis and Fishing trips. It's busy but a tourist viewing platform with seats is higher up and wheelchair accessible!
We actually fish off the lower part of the pier and give the fish away to locals and children! Tons of fun and lits of restaurants around the area!

The iconic Pier is where you can catch a water taxi to the southern beaches, get on a fishing boat, or watch the sunset over the bay. Beautiful!
Susan Hetrick — Google review
The bridge is falling apart, the food we had was below average, the drinks were EXPENSIVE WITH LITTLE TO A DROP OF ALCOHOL IN THEM. The beach its self is nice, but we had our snorkeling and waterfall trips canceled so we paid $60 USD to sit at a beach that only offered benches to sit on. I do not recommend this tour. The way there the female staffer spoke for nearly 40 minutes straight! Over the loud speakers so we couldn’t even enjoy the ride over. The only fun time was on the way back and they had karaoke which was the highlight of a 8 hour day!

A big monument and lookout area in a delightful and lively beach. Playa Los Muertos is a city beach, where locals and tourists alike can go to enjoy some time on the sand. One of the most beautiful place in Puerto Vallarta, you can go eat, walk around, buy stuff, take a boat or just enjoy the beach and swim.
Be careful with people selling you stuff, and pay an extra attention to your stuff when you are there.

Such a wonderful attraction in Puerto Vallarta. Right on the Malecon at the beach, this is a great view point. There are very nice sunsets from here and a popular place for locals to dive off of. Nice place for swimming and a great place to get your vacation pictures. It is a busy pier but big enough that you can find yourself a place on the rail to people watch. A must see when you are in PV

2024-04 The Los Muertos Beach Pier is an unstill work of art.
The pier juts out into shallow ocean surf and makes a loop around the central statue. The sculpture has a semi-circle of LED spotlights that can change color to help create an active illumination display.
Another thing that makes for an addicting place to relax are the swirling surf ebbing and flowing through and around the steel pipes that make up the sculpture.
The walkway around the sculpture has a large amount of seating for those who wish to take a pause.
The pier does extend further past the sculpture and descends nearer the water to accomodate fishing and perhaps boat access.
When lit up, the Pier is a beloved landmark.
Lit or unlit, it is not to be missed.

They have been working extensively on the pier providing upgrades which were needed. Benches were broken and railings in disrepair but the city of Puerto Vallarta is working hard and it appears almost complete. A great place to come and watch the kids fish or jump off into the water. Just a great place to chill out and find your Zen.

Great venue and a large variety of acts for all interests. Prices range from 300-600 pesos or approximately $15-30 USD for most shows. Pamphlets and schedules available to plan your week of evening events and also to read the event descriptions to ensure you choose the right type of entertainment for you. Currently, COVID protocols are in place, and you can choose your venue seating in advance of the performance when you buy your tickets. This is a great place to see a male review show. The ticket price was moderate so don't expect a massive production of a show. However, we sat in the front row and were greatly entertained by the female lead and her four male strip dancers. We all had a fantastic time and would do it all again. Heads up! saw the Queen show last night and left half way through. Excellent main singer who portrayed Freddie Mercury and excellent guitarist & keyboard player but couldn't hear the singing, keyboard or guitar playing due to the freak on drums who played so load as to make one unable to hear the others in the group and made the experience not enjoyable. As an avid Queen fan couldn't believe their song selection as the first 2 songs were unrecognizable. Not a happy evening. When we explained our experience to the manager he was very understandable & said that in their first show they were told about complaints about the very load drummer but didn't make any changes...The manager did give us a 2 for 1 coupon for a future show.

Our favorite art gallery in Vallarta. Amazing collection of eclectic and traditional paintings and sculptures. We wandered around the rooms, gardens and courtyard calling to one another, "come see this"! The visual layout is a work of art in itself, the gallery has a small art museum ambience. Evocative, vivid and imaginative pieces throughout.
Upstairs is Di Vino Dante a Wine and Tapas restaurant that is intertwined with the gallery. Artwork is rotated upstairs for enjoyment while dining providing an unrivaled event space in my opinion. Amazing art work by Mexican artists.... Please stop by this Gallery and enjoy the beauty of these pieces....

Irma and Linda helped us and they were great! The gallery has such unique, ecclectic pieces! We got a great piece from a Mexican artist and Irma helped remove the frame for us to travel back to US with it. A must visit when in Puerto Vallarta if you want to buy original, one of a kind pieces!!!

We tried to look for the gallery but couldn’t find it and got distracted by everything else that was happening by the beach, vendors, food, music, coconuts and the view!!

Great art friendly staff. When issue came up they were very professional. The Gustavo Rico Navara paintings were amazing.
The Naval Museum Secretary of the Navy of Mexico is a colonial-style establishment featuring model ships and other exhibits that showcase Mexico's rich naval history. With two floors packed with enough content to occupy around 40 minutes, visitors can learn about various historical events, although the transition between sections could have been smoother. While lacking in adequate air conditioning, a visit to this museum is essentially free and highly recommended for those interested in Mexican history.
A great surprise, outstanding, visually captivating of the history of the Mexican Navy, with lots of exhibits. The interactive items are great and well integrated to the visit. The visit not a big time commitment.
Martin Duplessis — Google review
Larger than I expected. Two floors have enough content for about 40 minutes. Air conditioning is lacking except for one spot on the first floor, it is bearable though. The history could have been told more fluidly from one poster and section to the next. If you have no background of Mexican history it can be hard to follow/ put together. I left with much more knowledge but also more questions about how the historical events displayed happened to come about and transitioned to the next. It is essentially free to visit though so I would recommend. When we visited recently the simulator was not operational.

It's absolutely worth the visit - even if just as a chance to have a break from the sun and to use a clean bathroom.
The history presented is pretty fascinating and certainly an interesting read through if you have the time.

If you think you know Mexican history, think again. This is a great place to visit and be educated about the country you are in. Very informative, interactive and has A/C. A must see and do. Not expensive and worth it.

Fascinating and informative. I could easily have spent an hour there. As an American Marine Corps retiree, I got free admission. Heroic stand of their naval cadets against U.S. troops at Veracruz was inspiring!

Fascinating, but not huge. Most of the signs have English subtitles. Touches on most eras of Mexican history, but some previous background in the subject will definitely help. Well worth the small entrance fee if you are interested in maritime or Mexican history.

Nice place, small but several things to read that are food for thought. As an American you may be taken aback by some of OUR history. About $110MXN in 2023 for 2 adults.

Beautiful. Not too big or detailed m but it has a life size simulator of a naval patron and it's awesome. You get to take in and out of port a navy vessel under whatever weather conditions you want, day or night. There's also a nice cafe with wifi. Highly recommended.

Great little museum which showcases Mexico's naval history from precolonial to the modern era. The air conditioning makes for a nice escape from the heat and the museum costs 45 pesos per person with discounts for students, children, military personnel. The cafe also has AC and is free for entry and Jamaica or hibiscus fresca is only 20 pesos. Loved that. Definitely check this place out of you have the chance!
The Mirador el Cerro de la Cruz is a contemporary tower with stunning panoramic views of the city. To reach the top, visitors must climb steep steps on an urban hike that starts on Calle Abasolo near the sculpture of Triton and Mermaid. Although it requires physical exertion, the effort is rewarded with breathtaking views. The location is ideal for those seeking a great photo opportunity and a chance to experience beautiful scenery from above.
If you can survive the steep roads and 1 billion stairs! You'll Love it! Awesome views, the tram no longer runs there, so your steppin' it up. No washrooms or water available at top...only the amazing views and self-satisfaction that you made it without oxygen! 😝😁
Come up Abasolo Rd. from Malecon up the 800' of elevation (Same as 80 story building's stairwell 😂) lots of fun. Try it!

Well worth the workout to climb the many steep steps and grooved streets to the top of this magnificent spot. You need to be in decent physical shape to make this climb and even then, bring water and take your time. Some of the steps are very steep and broken as is the street, so make sure you have great walking shoes. It certainly is not a walk in the park. There are a few different paths to take, some easier than others, so pay attention to where you start and what route you take. It will take 30-45 minutes at a nice steady pace and most will have to take a break every 5-10 minutes to catch their breath and take a drink. When you reach the old cable car that is not in use, you are almost there. When you do reach the "top of the mountain" (the location of the cross), absolutely go the extra few flights up the tower for the most amazing view. There are a few benches to rest in the shade at the bottom of the tower. There is no running water or bathrooms (they were locked when we were there), so be prepared. Bring a small towel or two to wipe the sweat or soak them in water to cool down. First thing in the morning would be best to make this trek as it could be brutal in the hot sun later in the day. You are in mostly shade as you climb! Again, bring plenty of water! The trip down is so much easier, so if you made it up, don't worry about getting down. Peace & Love!

Beautiful vantage point over the city! Absolutely worth the hike. But there were two things this area can improve on:
1) The washrooms were not open when we got there. We arrived at around 10AM during the week, not some random early or late time. We had little kids and couldn’t use the washrooms was a big disappointment. So, come prepared.
2) the roadway to the stairs were littered with garbage and dog poops. We had to pay attention not to step on the poops - with small children, that was hard.

Amazing views of the entire bay of Puerto Vallarta. The steep streets, and narrow step stairs up to the top are well worth the workout.
Just at the base of the stairs before going up to the top, you might find a little street vendor selling bottles of water. We stopped and had a chat with the lady that runs it from her debt porch on the way back down.
She also offers a local frozen fruit popsicle like delicious refreshment! After that descent from the staircase that are amazing. Made from in season local fresh fruits! Definitely, a hidden gem for the adventure!
Jason Jacobs — Google review
The view was outstanding but you do need to be prepared for the climb. Although it is not a lot of steps, they are taller and vary in size. It will take you a few minutes to get to the top. You get a nice view of the bay and the backside of the city. If it's not 112 I say go for the walk.!
Dave G — Google review
One of the few places where you can watch the sunrise or the sunset in PV.
This place is not easy for everyone. The steps are uneven, steep and few railings.
I would be very careful especially with kids and elderly.
There's a newly opened store when you reached the top. It's a great way to get iced cold drinks to quench your thirst.
There's a funicular if you don't want to use the steps, but I haven't really seen it operational.
C M-R — Google review
After making the climb to the top the view is wonderful! While the stairs can be a bit daunting at times there’s a rewarding overlook of the city and even a cafe with restrooms waiting for you at the top. Wear supportive sneakers and you’ll be fine.
William Slemp — Google review
This is an excellent hike, especially in the AM before the sun comes over the mountains. It is steep especially at the end which is an ascent up stairs. The view is great and the cardio and leg work out is a bonus 💪
Jesse M — Google review
Not for the faint hearted. It’s not an easy walk, but well worth it when you reach the top. I have done this twice now, and both times midway up I asked myself why am I doing this?! :-). But the views of the bay are incredible! Once you reach the top, go the extra few steps and touch the cross, and congratulations you have done it and can tell all your friends about it!!
Tips-were good shoes and take your time. Bring plenty of water. Allow yourself to take a break for as long as you need, the view isn’t going anywhere. Once you reach it, take it all in and congratulate yourself to achieving it! Enjoy the walk down, but be careful
Kelly Waterman — Google review
The view is amazing. We went around 6:30 and chilled for about an hour until the sun set at 7:30pm. The hill + the steps to reach the top will definitely leave you sweaty but totally worth the quick hike.

My friends and I are quite fit and wow this was not an easy climb. No fees or anything like that. Unfortunately the tram was out of service so one heck of a walk all the way up.
Great workout, head back down and enjoy some tacos on the beach!

Short walk, but a 400' climb to the top. Amazing views. It's 297 steps a long the closed venicular. No bathrooms and no water. Suggest an early AM time frame.
Jay Camp — Google review
OK so this is a short hike. But it's all uphill and lots of steps. Awesome views of the city and bay. Key is to go early as it does get hot.
Bubba Mcchicken — Google review
Great views. It is totally worth the hike up the steep road and several flights of stairs. The way there, however, is not clearly posted. Look or ask for directions to the Hotel La Siesta. Behind the hotel is the road Abasolo. The cross road is Emilio Carranza. Abasolo runs directly up the hill to the foot of the concrete stairs. Also, at the foot of the stairs, there is a fanicular, originally designed to help avoid the many flights of stairs, but it is delapidated and abondoned (I think it's only 5 or so years old 😕). Bring water, good shoes and be very deliberate with each step as the road and stairs can be uneven and slippery. The platforms at the top area bit distressed, paint peeling, some graffiti and parts of the safety rail missing but otherwise it's enjoyable.
Jesus Pal — Google review
Very nice view point to see the whole city and the coast line. However it is not very easy to reach. You first go up a steep drive way to reach flights of stairs. It appeared to have a trolly cart to go up and down, however it was not working when we visited. Then we climbed up the stairs for about 10mins to see the concrete structure. Make sure you bring water and wear proper shoes to visit this place. It requires stamina to go up.

Ugh, it’s a hike walking up the streets and all those steps but it is definitely worth the work out. There is a small store to buy some water and snacks at the top, along with a pay for use bathroom. The views tho, are incredible.

Wow, a spectacular view of the whole bay of Puerto Vallarta. Has the cross of course and the Mirador lookout point but be warned it’s a very steep hill with lots and lots of stairs. I’m guessing 300+. Not to mention the street mirador also very steep. There is a small cafe for drinks and snacks at top, side of the Cross and washrooms be sure to bring up some pesos. The cross and lookout is all free and great exercise to boot.
Los Arcos is a residential street that boasts low, colorful houses and palm trees. The area offers a distant view of the hills and is a popular tourist attraction. Visitors can take a boat tour out to see the stunning arches up close, which provide excellent opportunities for snorkeling and paddleboarding. However, some have found that the water in this area can be too murky for good snorkeling.
This is an absolutely stunning spot to go snorkeling! I highly recommend doing so through a local - he can be found on Airbnb through Experiences - it's called "The Arches." You can also locate him by his Instagram handle - adrenalyn_junkies - 10/10!

We had delay in some food order, but they didn’t charge us for that and we got this part for free. That’s a real client orientation. On the top of that - the seafood is fantastic and fresh, ocean view and the birds (pelicans?) are fantastic 🤩 Totally recommend this place.

Very disappointing. I rarely leave reviews but this place was just so bad. I’ve had way better seafood at Red Lobster hundreds of miles inland to give ya an idea of how bad. My margarita was so bad I had to have them take it back—tasted like aspartame from sugar substitute or something. The breaded shrimp that I ordered was both soggy and burnt at the same time. It had more of a chicken texture than shrimp. The service was decent and the outdoor seating in the back is by the beach and nice.

We were at Restaurant El Malecon the other night. They have a large selection of sauces at the table. And then they bring out chips with more sauces. After that we shared a guacamole. My wife then had the tortilla soup and shrimp tacos, while I had the mummy shrimp. Overall the food was good as was the service. The prices are certainly Malecon and beach side prices. There was a live duet playing music and singing and they were pretty good. But the main reason for eating here is the spectacular view as we watched the sunset over the ocean. In the end that is what you are paying for.

The Museo del Cuale is a cultural museum located on Isla Rio Cuale that showcases exhibits related to the history of the region, including pre-Hispanic ceramics and an overview of different indigenous groups who lived in western Mexico. The museum is well-presented and many panels are translated into English for visitors. Its location on Isle Cuale makes it easily accessible, and entry is free. The museum offers insights into Central American culture, particularly in Mexico and Puerto Vallarta.

Free and open worth stopping in. This museum is tucked away on the Isle Cuale nestled between the two forks of the River Cuale. It offers insight into Central American culture, specifically to Mexico and Puerto Vallarta.
One of the greatest insights was the specific Asiatic influence on the Pacific coast of Mexico and how the diet and particular affinities became ingrained into what we experience today. 5/5, definitely stop in and have a look.

Playa Palmares is the first beach in Puerto Vallarta to receive the prestigious Blue Flag certification for its environmental excellence. The soft sand and warm waters make it a perfect spot to relax away from the city. Visitors can rent tables and umbrellas or enjoy snacks from local vendors. Additionally, there's a convenient restaurant, Canto Palmares, that offers easy access to transportation back to the city.
Delightful! From the drinks to the food. A wonderful place to spend the afternoon! This beach was one of our favorites. Our server was extremely attentive, kind, and full of recommendations! This is a decent beach located just outside of downtown Zona Romantica.
The sand is soft and clean and the water is clear, clean, and fun to swim in. There are waves that vary in size depending on the time and day. The first time we came here, the waves were minimal, which was nice but then there were tons of jellyfish in the water which mildly stung us!
A moderate amount of people and families can be found here. A few hotels line the beach and there is also one beachfront restaurant. We did not try the food there due to bad reviews but the drinks were decent.
You can also rent an umbrella here (located by the restaurant in one of the small tents selling floaties). The price that I got was $250 pesos and the guy was nice enough to carry the umbrella down the beach for me to a secluded spot and he set it up in the sand.

Nice beach! A lot less crowded with bluer water than the main beach at PV. We rented a table and chairs like the locals, and enjoyed the food the hawkers had to offer. Bring cash for snacks and toilets. The water is warm, the beach sandy-- overall an excellent experience. Easy to reach by uber!
We paid too much for the table and chairs (400), but it was worth it for 4 hours and we're here to support the locals.

If you are looking for a relaxing beach experience this is the place. Quick and cheap bus ride south of PV. Not crowded at all with few vendors. Ice cream, shrimp on a stick and sweet breads were all that was offered to us... And only once. Soft sand, no steep drop off and warm water. From what we were told it's usually fairly calm waters here. However, the surf was a bit rough on the day we went but the lifeguard took the time to explain to everyone how to swim if caught in a rip current. We didn't find the current too strong and a lot of local kids were still enjoying the water. Our son doesn't know how to swim so he enjoyed playing in the sand, searching for sea glass, and and splashing in the shallows. They have public bathrooms for a small fee as well which is nice.

First actual beach I visited with my group in Puerto Vallarta. The beach was very nice and the sand was soft. The water was warm to the touch. Good place to relax away from the busy city. There are tables and umbrellas you can rent to use, but we brought our own. If you ever need a small snack at the beach, there are food vendors walking around with food to sell. Lastly, it’s simple to get back to the city from here — just ask the people who work at the restaurant there, Canto Palmares, to conveniently call a taxi for you.

Have a need to get away from the crowded beach while in Puerto Vallarta.. jump in your car or hail a cab and head south on highway 200 to beautiful Playa Palmares..along the hwy there's parking for around 30 car's, the beach is mostly sand with the odd rock, public washroom's and showers are available for $10 pesos, there's a couple of small restaurants with bars to enjoy a meal and beverages on the beach, for $300 pesos you can also rent an umbrella with table and chairs without the crowds. Mismaloya Beach is a stunning sandy cove surrounded by lush jungle and palm trees. It offers a range of activities for everyone, including paddleboarding, cliff jumping, and observing baby pelicans. Visitors can also indulge in delicious seafood and take boat tours to Los Arcos. While there are tour operators available, it's recommended to opt for smaller boats offered by experienced locals at a lower cost. The beach boasts several amenities such as massage services, beach bars, and vendors selling various items.
Great friendly beach area that was once a small fishing village.Your choice of fresh fish and Cerveza or boat rentals, jet skis, banana boat, kayaks, paddle boards. Also inexpensive massage, and manicures.

Rustic location for a beach day - seems like a great spot if you want to hop on a boat. There are a bunch of restaurants and the folks treated us very well. The food at the first restaurant we came upon was very good but overpriced - or we got charged a lot more for requesting beach chairs in the shade. Bathroom facilities are basically port-a-potties, available for 7 pesos or free if you patronize the restaurants. Massages are offered and lots of folks selling various things, including floaties and water toys for kids. The Barcelo hotel is on one end but it seemed to be all-inclusive so dining there as a beach guest wasn't allowed.

You can chill by the water, eat some great seafood, paddle board, cliff jump and play with baby pelicans. We all went and had a great time. PLEASE DONT PAY 300 pesos for a boat tour.. there’s smaller boats from people who have done it for 30+ years there. They will take you on 1-2hr tour to Los Arcos for about $150 pesos per person. Lovely beach with nice golden sand and clear waters. Had a great day here...our only issue was with the limited food options on the beach and the primitive bathroom facilities. Both bars/restaurants we went to didn’t have running water or flushing toilets. You had to dump a bucket of water in. Wasn’t a huge issue, but I always imagined this locale to be a bit more sophisticated. Regardless, I would still return

Great little walk! Amazing homes, including Liz Taylor’s at the top of the stairs. Stairs are not too bad to walk up

A fun walk to burn off the amazing food eaten all around PV in the top notch restaurants and the corner food stalls with homemade tortillas. Interesting to watch them rebuild the vehicle bridge and other infrastructure washed out from the 2021 flood.

Cool neighborhood to check out, look for the casa Richard Burton and Elizabeth taylor lived at, lots of inclines so beware of that, also a nice somewhat challenging hike upto the Mirador nearby which is must do for sunset in PV

Nice serene place. You can see all the nicer homes up above. Although we didn't go to the homes this little park below was great.

Marigalante is a fun-filled pirate-themed ship that offers both land and sailing tours. The guides are dressed in costume, adding an element of whimsy to the experience. Onboard, you can enjoy good food with vegetarian options available and non-stop drinks throughout the night. The crew provides excellent service, ensuring that guests have everything they need. There's never a dull moment thanks to live music performances and entertaining shows.
We had a blast on the day trip. Breakfast and lunch were delicious and everyone was so kind and amazing. My mother has some physical disabilities and they accommodated her every need without even being asked. Mahi Mahi and Flash were so attentive and made us feel like queens for the day! Would highly recommend this trip!

We love coming on this every time we’re in town. The staff are excellent, the food is delicious, the shows are fun, and the kids always have a blast. I do wish they were more consistent with their English, my toddlers are still working on their Spanish and had a hard time following their directions on stage. Overall, I do always recommend this show if you have kiddos

Had a very enjoyable time with my wife. Went on evening cruise, just a tad too long. A lot of alcohol drunk. Includes dinner as well. The show was good fun

Fantastic experience! Took a evening cruise with the wife and we both loved it!
The food was good, including a vegetarian option for her; we were a little afraid the vegitarian dish would be poor when we booked as there wasn't a lot of details on it, however it was surprisingly good. Drinks were non-stop the entire night and were very good as well.
The service from the crew was fantastic; they were on top of us the entire trip checking every few minutes if we needed anything at all!
The entertainment didn't disappoint either, with very good live music and an entertaining show. There wasn't a boring moment!
If you have an evening to spare on your vacation this should be at or near the top of your to-do list.

As a local I drive past this ship Mayne 4 times a month. It was nice to actually get to experience it and tour it. Very antique and authentic. The kids will definitely love it.

Went down to Puerto Vallarta to celebrate 3 years of birthdays as I couldn't go due to Covid
Non stop fun,I will go again next time.
My Pirates name (waiter) was Raven,he made me feel rite welcome in spite of being a solo traveller, like so many do and your left out of things.
They also do a day trip that I plan to explore the next time I’m down

The Malecon in Puerto Vallarta is a scenic boardwalk that runs alongside the beach, with twisting paths and stunning views of the sea. It boasts an array of sculptures, bars, restaurants, shops, and galleries to explore. It is advisable to take a taxi or Uber as parking can be difficult. The boardwalk offers breathtaking views and friendly people. It is the center point of Puerto Vallarta and a great place for a stroll around sunset or early evening despite being crowded at times.
Beautiful weather, breathtaking views, delicious restaurants and fun shops along the boardwalk.

A great place to exercise, walk, bike, buy, & take photos. All local & international types mix. Food and other purchases are tourist quality, and always cheaper away from the beach. Nothing like a few beers and snack while watching a sunset or afternoon rest.

The only beachfront boardwalk in town, sculptures, bars & restaurants with 2nd floor views. Lots of shops and galleries. Impossible to find parking so best to take a taxi or Uber. Nice for a stroll around sunset and the early evening. Can get crowded.
